[3:19]karbala [Music] [Music] [Music] am [Music] [Music] [Music] muhammad [Music] foreign foreign
[5:40]refused to give her any of the property so fatimah became angry
[5:48]with abu bakr kept away from him and did not talk to
[5:55]him until she died she remained alive for six months after the
[6:00]death of the holy prophet peace be upon him and his family
[6:04]when she passed away she was buried by imam ali alaihissalam and
[6:12]he did not inform abu bakr of the burial i wouldn't blame
[6:18]you if you thought that this was a passage from a shiite
[6:22]text from a shia author from a shia piece of literature indeed
[6:27]it's a passage from sahih al-bukhari of all texts you find that
[6:32]this passage is found in one of the most famous non-shia texts
[6:37]in islamic history if ever there was a problem a difficulty a
[6:41]nemesis for abu bakr after it was indeed who would have thought
[6:50]that a female would be his major problem there were enough personalities
[6:54]who were around in medina at the time who had already objected
[6:58]to what took place at satifa their objection could be seen and
[7:03]the fact that they were not ready to pledge allegiance to abu
[7:07]bakr many assume that everybody had pledged allegiance to him and that
[7:12]everything had moved smoothly this couldn't be further from the truth there
[7:15]were already a number of personalities who we discussed last night who
[7:20]clearly were not ready to pledge allegiance to abu bakr for one
[7:24]reason or another either there were those who were busy with the
[7:27]burial of the holy prophet peace be upon him and his family
[7:31]or there were those who blatantly had disagreed with either his appointment
[7:37]the method of his appointment or him taking this leadership you therefore
[7:45]found that the most outspoken of them in many cases were the
[7:47]males of medinian society but if ever there was one who was
[7:53]more outspoken than all the males put together against abu bakr and
[7:57]omar and what in the muslim world today is the most revered
[8:07]lady one may argue if you go to shia and non-shia that
[8:11]will say to you how much they love as in wherever you
[8:16]travel in the muslim world you'll see people who admire people who
[8:20]will name their children after this when the cases of many out
[8:27]there they do not know about the differences and the war of
[8:31]words between if they did then they have to ask themselves a
[8:36]major question does not agree with that particular government and believed that
[8:44]there was power that was usurped then what does it say about
[8:49]the government of that time if you claim to love fatima your
[8:52]love for fatima cannot be simply based on the fact that she's
[8:56]the daughter of the prophet here we have a lady who when
[8:59]we examine what took place after sarifa is the most vehemently outspoken
[9:03]of all personalities in that society nobody spoke out against abu bakr
[9:10]and omar and nobody proved to be a thorn in the lives
[9:16]of abu bakr and omar at the beginning of their authority like
[9:22]father allah yet if you want to ask many muslims do you
[9:25]understand this do you believe in this you'll find that there are
[9:29]many out there who don't even know about this when you see
[9:32]the tradition that i quoted the tradition from sahih al-bukhari is a
[9:36]tradition which in reality is self-explanatory as in says that she is
[9:45]angry with somebody her anger is an anger which is the anger
[10:02]whoever angers her whoever hurts her has hurt me hurting her hurting
[10:08]the prophet is hurting allah subhanahu wa ta'ala therefore if left this
[10:17]world angry with somebody what does that tell you about that person
[10:21]because every year you ask me as a shiai that why is
[10:24]it that i do not revere abu bakr or i do not
[10:27]revere omar or i do not reveal uthman why it's because i
[10:32]see that there is a clear instance in my history where the
[10:37]holiest household in this religion are clearly angry with personalities because of
[10:44]their behaviors when i see that how can i love the one
[10:46]and good and the one they're angry with logically speaking i see
[10:52]two people one who's angered another who's angry with somebody who's the
[10:57]cause of anger how can i love both of them as in
[11:00]do i believe in a jannah and in this heaven i believe
[11:05]that the one who has died angry with somebody are going to
[11:07]end up in the same heaven as one another as in surely
[11:11]when the quran keeps telling us why do you not reflect why
[11:14]do not ponder further than that how does she die so young
[11:18]as in this is a lady who's still according to some narrations
[11:22]in her teens in her late teens how does she die so
[11:28]young when you look at what's taken place in the last few
[11:30]lectures that we've delivered in muharram we're not talking more than 10
[11:34]days of history many might assume that when i've discussed the pen
[11:38]and paper and i've discussed osama's army and yesterday when we discussed
[11:43]sativa and today when we discuss you might assume that this is
[11:49]over three months seven months nine months you might assume that this
[11:52]might be over 10 years 20 years i'm literally discussing 10 days
[11:56]worth of history in literally 10 days we have personalities who have
[12:01]not only attacked the prophet emotionally with their words after the prophets
[12:08]died they've gone ahead and formed their own election after that they
[12:13]begin to take out their venom on the household of rasulullah let
[12:20]us tonight examine how taking out your venom on fatama means there's
[12:26]no issue one day in taking out your venom on the sons
[12:30]of fatama and i'd like to do this in the following stages
[12:32]number one when sarifa took place which house did the dissenters gather
[12:39]in the ones who were against what took place at sarifa number
[12:42]two if they gathered and they dissented in this house does that
[12:49]mean that they are now faisakin are they kuffar are they out
[12:53]of the fold of the religion of islam number three what do
[12:58]non-shia texts show about the reaction of omar when he heard there
[13:02]were a group of people gathering in the house of fatima what
[13:07]was his opinion number four did that group have to pledge allegiance
[13:13]to abu bakr if you didn't have to pledge allegiance to the
[13:16]prophet of islam when he said he was a prophet why should
[13:19]you be forced to pledge to ah khalifa number five when father
[13:24]realized what the plan was what did they do to the peace
[13:30]of land given to her by rasulullah number six in sahih al-bukhari
[13:35]what is the whole hadith in the chapter of the magazine in
[13:40]the chapter discussion discussing the aftermath of what does the hadith say
[13:45]exactly and when we break down the hadith how does the hadith
[13:48]highlight not only fatama dying angry but not only nobody knowing where
[13:52]her grave is not only that she died in the middle of
[13:56]the night but also imam ali's clear disapproval of umar abner's behavior
[14:01]and was buried what was the reaction of imam amir al-mumin salam
[14:13]to the stand of his wife fatima and in the muslim community
[14:19]did that result in them showing respect to imam ali when fatima
[14:22]died or did they distance themselves even more from imam ali and
[14:26]to conclude when we look at islamic history what were the reactions
[14:33]to fathamataz in islam in the umayyad period who were the ones
[14:37]who loved her who were the ones who cursed her and on
[14:39]the 10th of muharram does she deserve a mention of course she
[14:44]does but who exactly mentioned her let's examine this and dissect the
[14:48]topic in depth sacrifice taken place when sativa is taking place naturally
[14:51]we could not say a hundred percent of the people agreed with
[14:56]what took place at sacrefa because already we said amongst the ansar
[15:01]sadhana and his son said we will never pledge allegiance to abu
[15:05]bakr we said that imam ali alayhi salaam was burying the prophet
[15:09]and was finishing everything that was taking place wasn't the only one
[15:15]who was doing this nor was he the only one who had
[15:19]heard about what had happened at sacrifice and was unhappy with it
[15:24]who were the others amongst the others was for example as zubair
[15:29]cousin of imam he was amongst those who had blatantly spoken out
[15:34]against what was taking place amongst them was amongst them was amongst
[15:46]them for example was the likes of khadifah al-iman amongst them you
[15:53]find for example some mentioned the names of abdullah have been masood
[15:57]others some mentioned bilal as being amongst those who had an issue
[16:02]with what was taking place because there's always an interesting question why
[16:07]bilal of rasulallah why have you stopped and why are you dying
[16:16]in syria far away from the islamic land the reality is that
[16:22]all of these realized what had taken place then the space of
[16:27]one week um not only had raised this voice against the prophet
[16:30]not only had abu bakr blatantly not joined osama's army not only
[16:36]had the two of them gone to sarifa but now they were
[16:38]walking around and ordering for people to pledge allegiance why are you
[16:46]forcing people to pledge allegiance my prophet when he came to mecca
[16:51]did he put a sword on people's heads and say you must
[16:54]believe in me as a prophet i ask all of you the
[16:57]prophet did he go to people when he became a prophet and
[17:00]said if you don't believe in me as a prophet i'm going
[17:04]to behead you do we have any evidence of that if you
[17:06]were christian or you were jewish and you didn't believe in the
[17:10]religion of islam which ayah do all of us use from surah
[17:12]al-baqarah to prove that i cannot compel you to be a muslim
[17:26]whoever wants to believe they can believe who wants to just believe
[17:31]they can disbelieve to use your religion towards mine the prophet may
[17:48]be a bashir he may be a nazir he may be a
[17:52]munder a warner a reminder one thing he's not muslim cannot compel
[17:56]a person wants to join my religion they can join and if
[18:00]they don't want to join they don't have to join what i
[18:05]have never understood in islamic history is how is it that with
[18:10]nobu you cannot force someone to pledge to rasulullah but suddenly with
[18:15]satifa you're going round forcing people to pledge what islam is that
[18:20]if he announced his prophethood went round to every house and be
[18:25]like if you guys don't come towards us and accept us i'm
[18:30]gonna burn your house down i'll be like you know what i
[18:33]don't want to follow this guy this guy's crazy this is lunatic
[18:36]this is blatant ignorance would you agree as then any non-muslim out
[18:42]there if you told him the prophet muhammad peace be upon his
[18:45]family if you never agreed with him he used to pick up
[18:46]a sword and he comes to your house and beheads you he'll
[18:50]be like you guys prophet's mad so what's he doing either i
[18:53]can agree to follow him or i agree to disagree the reality
[18:58]is that a non-muslim will look at this and say this is
[19:03]ridiculous after sarifa happened do you know what began to take place
[19:06]they had a problem how do we get ali to pledge why
[19:09]is ali a problem a because he's the closest to muhammad nobody
[19:15]is as close to rasulallah [Applause] there's too much of a wording
[19:23]there to indicate that he's bigger than everybody else see he's not
[19:29]present so what did they want they wanted him to pledge hold
[19:31]on a minute if you people are already in power why are
[19:34]you so adamant that imam ali has to pledge to you you
[19:38]know what's your problem so imam ali for example said no i
[19:40]don't want to pledge to you why do you have to force
[19:43]a pledge we know in islam which is coerced is not abaya
[19:48]that can be accepted has to come from the heart it cannot
[19:51]come from if i now get somebody to come to the khalifa
[19:55]and i'm like give bay and i've pointed an ak on his
[20:00]head that person even if he gives bayer at the end of
[20:02]the day of judgment will say they forced me into giving a
[20:05]but what happened was if you read literature you'll find these companions
[20:10]where did they gather the house of fatima and ali all of
[20:15]them were gathering in that house your amir al-mu'min your zubairs your
[20:21]salmans they were gathering in that house what is that house by
[20:25]the way who's in that house in that house there's a young
[20:30]boy he's eight years old he's called imam al-hasan alaihissalam and in
[20:34]that house there's a young boy called imam al-hussein seven years of
[20:39]age and in that house there's a young girl by the name
[20:45]of zainab salam five years of age and there is another young
[20:49]girl who possibly might be called zainab as well but as smaller
[20:53]zayna we may call her for example um and there is a
[20:59]lady by the name of fatama daughter of who's pregnant as well
[21:04]at that time so this we will call it in our language
[21:09]a young family do you agree yeah because imam ali is in
[21:13]his thirties in her late teens and they have kids again go
[21:16]to the non-muslim out there say to a non-muslim if there's a
[21:21]house where there are children there even the non-muslim will say listen
[21:24]if i've got a problem with the elders of the house put
[21:25]the kids aside don't touch any of the kids there's a non-muslim
[21:29]who would say this when all of these were gathering in the
[21:32]house they were telling him what do we do i said look
[21:38]what they've done they've gone to sarifa and they've had this skirmish
[21:42]in sacrifice they've had this election take place when they were gathering
[21:46]in this house discussing with imam salam there are two texts i
[21:50]want you all to read at home and they're not sheery texts
[21:53]one of them is the musa of ibn abi shaiba these two
[22:00]texts are available in arabic i don't know if they're available in
[22:02]english but they're certainly available in arabic if you look at them
[22:09]there's something which is interesting which occurs in both these texts what
[22:13]is it omar's threat to burn the house of fatima in both
[22:20]these texts because of what not because of fatima zara but um
[22:30]has a problem that why are these people not pledging allegiance to
[22:37]abu bakr why do they have to if abu bakr is chosen
[22:39]by allah and they don't pledge allegiance even then you shouldn't attack
[22:44]them because the man greater than all of them chosen by allah
[22:49]has his final prophet if you never pledge the leaders to him
[22:52]you were not attacked did anyone ever go to the house of
[22:55]the moon and say that there's a family in the house i'm
[22:58]going to burn the house down when rasulullah was alive ever do
[23:03]you find because we find eyes in the quran that says if
[23:09]you or prophet of god were hard hearted or you were severe
[23:14]people would have run away from you in the first of these
[23:18]texts the musa of ibn abi shaiba this is narration from obama
[23:24]omar from zaidbin islam from his father islam what is the narration
[23:28]the narration tells us how um has a discussion with fatima zahra
[23:33]while these are all in the house he says we respect you
[23:38]nobody is more beloved to the prophet to us than you but
[23:42]if these people think that they can gather in this house and
[23:46]dissent against the government we will burn the house down who's in
[23:51]the house see when you say i'm going to burn a house
[23:53]down who's in the house if you want to look at sunni
[23:58]political theory some of the people in that house are going gender
[24:01]they promise gender so i'm going to burn a house of people
[24:04]who are going to heaven me and them are going to couch
[24:05]we're going to link we're going to relax in heaven it's absolutely
[24:11]crazy it is absolutely crazy of course we could look later on
[24:15]people started to write names of hadiths people they're all going jannah
[24:18]but at that moment if you think logically if um burns the
[24:22]house of fatima remember this is not a shia book just in
[24:27]case someone says ah this is your literature musa of ibn abi
[24:29]shaiba it says that he says to her listen we respect you
[24:34]father i'll make it clear to you they continue to gather in
[24:36]this house why because they are descending against the islamic government and
[24:41]if you descend against the islamic government then you're going to have
[24:45]to be burnt if that's islam then assalamu alaikum peace be upon
[24:50]islam if that's islam even i wouldn't want to be part of
[24:54]that islam he says this therefore the threat has already begun that
[24:59]i'm ready um i am ready to burn a house which the
[25:04]prophet used to say assalamu alaikum outside that house where the prophet
[25:11]used to recite innama you read allah you found the discussion there
[25:29]as well where fatima tells him but you know what this house
[25:31]is he says well if we're going to have to burn it
[25:34]it's going to have to be burnt when this therefore takes place
[25:38]we see clearly that the government that's been established is a government
[25:43]that is ready to get rid of any of its enemies including
[25:48]the very flesh of rasulullah when someone tells me why did karabella
[25:54]happen i say hold on if you're willing to burn fatima what
[25:59]are the tents of zainab if you're willing to burn the house
[26:09]of fatima what are the tents of them i've already burnt before
[26:13]and those were meant to be more religious than me so what's
[26:17]the problem if i do this if those more religious than me
[26:20]were ready to do it he already knew that if ali and
[26:27]zubair and the rest of them think and that's why you'll find
[26:30]medieval scholars like him in tamiya when they say that there is
[26:33]if if an attack happened on the door of fatima then it's
[26:37]justified because you're breaking the fitna of the dissenters against the government
[26:41]yeah hold on who's behind the door if an attack happens who's
[26:45]behind the door you say to me that there's four ladies of
[26:48]paradise this is their hadith they say four ladies of paradise fatima
[26:53]and khadija and maryam and asiya you say to me fatam as
[26:58]a part of me whoever angers her angers me you have now
[27:02]reached the level and that's why every listener out there i don't
[27:04]care if you're she whatever you are you admit that there's a
[27:12]problem there's a war of words between umar you have to decide
[27:17]for yourself what your position is before you get to your grave
[27:20]because you're gonna have to face your lord and your prophet one
[27:26]day either saying i loved the one who was angered or i
[27:29]love the cause of the anger someone says yes but these texts
[27:34]how do they prove what do they prove they prove to us
[27:38]that um felt that it doesn't matter what needs to be done
[27:44]even if the house where revelation used to take place because we
[27:47]know jabra it came in that house how then in where was
[27:52]the house where the verse of purification took place jibra il came
[27:56]to that house omar did not mind even if i have to
[28:01]burn the house not kill you fatima burn the house well if
[28:03]you're going to burn the house that means anyone who's in that
[28:07]house even the two masters of paradise even there they can get
[28:11]burnt as well when they did that they kept on saying ali
[28:14]must pledge ali baba if you've become khalifa why does ali have
[28:19]to pledge to you why unless you're chosen by allah even if
[28:23]you're chosen by allah why should he pledge to you get on
[28:26]with your khilafah unless you know that you know what we need
[28:29]to get past this hurdle one way or the other that's why
[28:33]if you look at nowaway or even hajjar they always are trying
[28:37]to justify fatima versus abu bakr umar versus fatima they're trying to
[28:41]find a way to reconcile why because of that one hadith in
[28:46]bukhari that hadith in bukhari highlighted that when they wanted to finish
[28:52]imam ali and fatima zahra knowing how outspoken they were against sakaifa
[28:56]what was the way to do it confiscate their property confiscate which
[29:03]property confiscate the property known as fedex why confiscate fedex for what
[29:10]reason did they want to confiscate fedex on the one hand economically
[29:13]speaking you virtually kill any opportunity for them to rise economically the
[29:18]date palms of fedex fedex which is about 160 km from medina
[29:21]the date palms of fedex are to the date palms of kufa
[29:28]people used to swear by the departments of iraq isn't that true
[29:30]until today the land of iraq has the most beautiful palm trees
[29:34]on earth and the arabs used to swear by their palm trees
[29:39]and that land of fedex that was a piece of land that
[29:42]belonged to the jews of fetak when imam ali salam achieved victory
[29:48]in the battle of by defeating marhaba and his soldiers when you
[29:53]achieve victory in war in islamic law the booty can either be
[29:57]achieved through warfare or no warfare not either i've achieved victory by
[30:03]riding horses and i've fought with swords i bought shields i bought
[30:08]my camels if i achieve victory through warfare then there is a
[30:14]certain amount of hums distribution that has to take place quran says
[30:17]on surah 8 verse 41 of what i acquire has to be
[30:30]given towards god the prophet and then the rest could be shared
[30:35]amongst the soldiers that's if i fought in a battle when imam
[30:38]ali defeated the jews of khaibar the jews of fedex were their
[30:41]neighbors the jews of fedex said listen we ain't gonna get involved
[30:45]with abu torah nor his sword you can have our land the
[30:51]prophet said half of the land will still be yours and half
[30:54]will come to us if a piece of land in islam has
[31:01]been acquired without war it doesn't fall under the category of homs
[31:04]it falls under the category of fate okay faith is that piece
[31:08]of land which is acquired without any horses fighting cavalry and the
[31:14]word derivative of faith can be found in the quran you found
[31:26]here that this ayah mentions very clearly what that that which you
[31:31]acquire without fighting without horses without cavalry falls under the category of
[31:36]fae in islamic economics faye unlike homs can be distributed as the
[31:43]prophet wants to withholms them is the fifth towards a certain criteria
[31:49]of people with faith acquires that piece of land then the holy
[31:55]prophet can distribute it as he likes took place four years before
[32:00]he died remember this point fedex is not inheritance they made it
[32:05]a case of inheritance fedex possession indicates ownership if now i'm living
[32:13]in my house okay and you claim that it's yours is it
[32:16]me who has to bring witnesses or you have to bring witnesses
[32:19]i'm living in the house you say it's yours who has to
[32:23]bring the witnesses me or you possession indicates ownership unless you go
[32:28]and bring yours that property how did it come to her the
[32:31]prophet because he acquired that property what did the prophet say quran
[32:35]revealed the ayah according to narrators give your near ones the haqq
[32:41]he said in honor of khadijah and what she gave to islam
[32:47]from her wealth i'm going to give it to father this piece
[32:51]of land because her mother gave so much wealth to the religion
[32:56]the least we could do is give this to her when it
[32:57]was given to her it was given to her when seventh year
[33:02]after hijrah the prophet and what we're talking about right now is
[33:06]four years later therefore fedex on the first level for us it's
[33:12]not inheritance fedex is that which already belongs to fatima it belongs
[33:18]to her all of a sudden as soon as sakifa happens feather
[33:23]confiscated oh a fedex being confiscated it's not a surprise if i've
[33:29]got a man who wants to burn a house what's a piece
[33:31]of land as soon and what i'm going to narrate to you
[33:37]right now is purely bukhari i won't go anywhere else i'll narrate
[33:41]not because on me it's not but for the non-shia out there
[33:50]who are like huge guys just make up issues between abu bakr
[33:53]and fatah they all loved each other no i'm reading the chapter
[34:00]of the expeditions or the wars on the section of khaibar i
[34:05]read that fatham sent for someone to ensure that her fate was
[34:12]given to her and that when that person was sent to abu
[34:19]bakr this is exactly what's written in sahih al-bukhari you can all
[34:22]go and search it online and non-shia go and search it online
[34:27]and let your conscience speak to you she sent somebody to make
[34:31]sure that that which is hers the faye of fedex is with
[34:37]her abu bakr had confiscated it abu bakr said the prophet says
[34:41]that our property is not inherited the prophet peace be upon him
[34:46]his family says our property is not inherited rather what we leave
[34:49]behind the sadaqa and that is at the disposal of our family
[34:52]so abu bakr refused to give fedex of atama you're the sole
[35:01]narrator of this hadith which works wonderfully for him the prophets they
[35:07]say that the prophet does what the property is not inherited i
[35:11]ask all of you a question very basic question everybody listening to
[35:16]me wherever you are in islam a lady can inherit or no
[35:21]you all agree and you all have cases where your march passed
[35:26]away and there's a sister in the family and that is distributed
[35:30]why would there be a law for the prophet and a law
[35:34]for everybody else on this issue why his daughter no and my
[35:39]daughter yes does it make any sense that everybody's son or daughter
[35:47]inherits except rasulallah does that make any sense why not no because
[35:56]prophets we do not live behind property as inheritance yeah you know
[36:00]what you just leave your family just to rot on the earth
[36:03]you don't leave anything behind of that's what you acquired that's what
[36:08]islam became he said that the prophets do not leave behind property
[36:13]as inheritance okay rather what we leave behind the sadaqa and then
[36:18]maybe a disposal of so abu bakr refused to give fedex her
[36:25]reaction is fundamental why in one reaction she will highlight whether she
[36:29]believes the government of the time is legitimate or illegitimate do we
[36:35]agree fatima became angry with abu bakr that's all we need to
[36:40]know even if i finished my major list here that's enough because
[36:44]on the day of judgement her father is going to have to
[36:48]meet him and meet her and she's going to say i died
[36:49]angry with him father became angry with abu bakr kept away from
[36:56]him and did not talk to him until she died when she
[37:01]became angry with him if we just sidestep from bukhari for a
[37:06]moment when she became angry with him was it just a tantrum
[37:08]there's a lady emotional you know some people will say these things
[37:12]orientalists say fatham is always in a bad mood and emotional and
[37:17]so on when she became angry with him you're saying that prophets
[37:21]don't leave behind inheritance let's look at the quran because fatima is
[37:26]the walking quran because abu bakr versus fatima if you were to
[37:33]look at it from the sunni angle it's non-muslim versus non-mason for
[37:40]us it's non-muslim versus masuma you agree in sunny angle even if
[37:45]there's a war of words between they're both not muslim you have
[37:50]arguments for us no there's a difference between when a fallible speaks
[37:53]against an infallible a lady who was in the eye of kisa
[37:58]in namayor that for us is enough she has been purified where
[38:04]no impurities come near her she looked at him and she said
[38:08]to him that you say that prophets don't leave behind inheritance sulaiman
[38:16]inherited from darwood i thought prophets don't leave anything behind how about
[38:22]the ayah about yahya and zakaria ali yakub sorry in the story
[38:36]even you find others in the quran where they're saying provide for
[38:41]me an heir someone who inherits from me inherits from the family
[38:47]of jacob then she says another eye look what's she showing us
[38:51]don't respect me just as a daughter who you imagine is like
[38:54]this young girl i'm a quran walking on earth and my husband
[38:58]is greater than me she said have you not read the eye
[39:05]in the quran quran is the power of islam if the muslims
[39:20]have memorized it they're powerful if the muslims neglect it know that
[39:25]they're miles away it has been prescribed upon you that when death
[39:32]approaches you if there is a certain amount of property or wealth
[39:35]left you write a wasa to your near ones am i not
[39:40]the near one of muhammad am i not the nearest one all
[39:49]these ayahs of the quran so sulaiman can inherit david yahya can
[39:55]inherit zakaria the quran stole the whole of the muslim world that
[39:59]they could inherit from their fathers or have you taken us back
[40:06]to jaahiliyah because in jayalia the ladies could not inherit they were
[40:10]being inherited are we going back to jaahiliya now bukhari's hadith what
[40:15]does it say fatima was angry with abu bakr clay in the
[40:18]hadith she refused and then she stayed away and then after that
[40:26]what happened and then after that the narration mentioned she did not
[40:31]talk to him until she died bukhari continues interestingly who narrates this
[40:37]narration continues interestingly she remained alive for six months after the prophet
[40:44]died this is in bukhari when she died her husband imam salaam
[40:52]this is in bukhari buried her alone and did not inform abu
[41:02]bakr of the funeral how many things can you pick out just
[41:04]from those two lines in bukhari how many things firstly that this
[41:10]lady the daughter of the prophet dies months after her father secondly
[41:15]that imam ali al-islam does not want to inform abu bakr of
[41:20]what's taken place if imam ali felt abu bakr is this pious
[41:24]spiritual individual then why not inform invite him to a jainism i've
[41:30]seen people who are not the most religious in the world but
[41:31]you'll still tell them listen tomorrow we're doing my father's jannah may
[41:34]allah 10 30 at this cemetery please join us why fatima doesn't
[41:39]want them to be at the funeral isn't that enough that's when
[41:45]saying i don't want these to be at the funeral and bukhari
[41:49]himself admits imam ali did not inform abu bakr of the funeral
[41:55]of father what was it being mentioned here imam was making it
[42:00]very clear that for us this situation indicates our rejection of the
[42:06]government our rejection of these people if now imam ali has rejected
[42:10]them i ask in sunni thought a question imam wife and him
[42:16]have blatantly not pledged allegiance do they remain muslim or of course
[42:20]what's the argument that comes back later he pledged after she died
[42:26]he pledged six months later he pledged why why why would he
[42:29]wait to pledge if this man is the most pious man and
[42:32]the leader of the muslims why would he wait until he pledges
[42:35]what's interesting is when the hadith continues the hadith continues that imam
[42:39]ali says while fatima was alive people used to come towards me
[42:42]when she died they all left me very interesting in bukhari this
[42:48]is not outside so that someone says this isn't she literature in
[42:52]bukhari he says that while fatima was alive people would come towards
[42:56]me when fatima died they began to distance themselves more and more
[43:00]from me until imam ali says the hadith says he said call
[43:06]for abu bakr but let him come alone he didn't want umar
[43:10]to come why not why if you want to call fabul back
[43:17]because we believe that's when father died that period there was a
[43:21]sort of coming together of the caliphate with imam ali but in
[43:25]ali says only abu bakr comes to see me nobody else omar
[43:29]doesn't come isn't that enough of an indication that imam salam has
[43:34]a major problem with umar abner and a major problem with the
[43:37]actions of omar and interestingly later on omar does what he wants
[43:44]to do with fedex and later on even you find the umayyads
[43:48]themselves finding them with fedex at their disposal everybody minting fedex and
[44:03]even that they took away from us therefore when we come and
[44:09]see the conclusion of all of this what is it the conclusion
[44:11]of all of this is that became the nemesis for that government
[44:16]a clear nemesis she is the one who stood up against that
[44:20]government the one who blatantly wouldn't talk to them if they say
[44:27]salam she wouldn't reply to the salam and i'll tell you something
[44:29]that's amazing go and see the ulama of the sunni world in
[44:31]their explanation of this hadith in bukhari because this hadith i kept
[44:39]away from abu bakr i refuse to talk to him till i
[44:42]die i get buried without him being in the funeral how do
[44:44]we explain it the explanations are unbelievable i've seen some contradictions in
[44:50]my time in the explanation but explanations like you know abu bakr
[44:54]well he was right because she doesn't deserve inheritance but at the
[44:58]same time she's the daughter of rasulullah at the same time you
[45:01]got to understand that you know these things and it got a
[45:04]bit emotional but imam ali at the end was okay with everyone
[45:07]okay i'm not understanding what's going on here because this lady's ended
[45:11]up dying from all of this she's received death threats her house
[45:14]has been threatened to be burnt first issue that emerges from this
[45:18]in the muslim world today whenever you see us talk about these
[45:23]sensitive topics as i've done in the last few nights you'll always
[45:26]hear people saying imam ali wouldn't have wanted us to talk about
[45:29]these things tell you what his wife did you say he wouldn't
[45:37]have wanted the muslims to talk about these things his wife certainly
[45:42]caused the clamor she wouldn't stop even while injured she continued to
[45:51]speak out she would be the one going from house to house
[45:57]in medina going from house to house have you forgotten you've allowed
[46:04]these two the ones who go around forcing people to pledge and
[46:07]i haven't even finished with how they force people inshallah tomorrow we
[46:13]go towards one of their foot soldiers who if he wants to
[46:17]force somebody no he doesn't just force him maybe heads him you
[46:20]go towards these two and my imam my husband abel hassan all
[46:25]of you neglect him now i ask all of you those of
[46:29]you who say imam ali would not want us to talk about
[46:31]these topics talking about these topics talking about these topics but the
[46:40]second issue that emerges from this is what what's the second issue
[46:45]if we are able to burn the house of hussein while his
[46:52]mom's alive what stops us from killing hussein after his mom has
[46:57]died because you know what principle was set by the attack on
[47:00]fatima what was the principle the principle was that yazid could turn
[47:03]around and say hold on a minute you guys have a problem
[47:07]with me for threatening to kill babies at karbala we took her
[47:12]baby out and if you guys are telling me that i'm wrong
[47:16]for burning tents well masters before me who appointed my father they
[47:21]burned ten they burnt a house in medina what happened was that
[47:27]the precedent was set that if um are able to anger then
[47:34]don't be scared if you anger hussein that principle that had been
[47:39]said became a dangerous principle because a person could turn around and
[47:43]use that principle and that's why what surprises me on the third
[47:46]level is the shia who doubt this incident you know you meet
[47:52]shia in the muslim community and you'll see some of them saying
[47:59]yeah but you know what i don't really believe it's a non-shia
[48:02]books number one and non shia books they're saying omar is saying
[48:05]to her listen if these guys are going to continue to gather
[48:09]in the house we're going to burn the house you tell me
[48:11]if someone tells you i'm going to burn your house is it
[48:12]far-fetched to think that he may actually eventually do it that's number
[48:18]one number two what's the second issue they say well imam salah
[48:22]would never allow such a thing to happen you know how could
[48:25]he watch his wife being attacked you never said that about the
[48:30]prophet when somaya was being executed ammar's mom ammar's on earth go
[48:44]and defend her no some things are matters which the prophet takes
[48:47]into his own hands imam ali in our opinion stop those who
[48:53]came towards his house those who had said already that we're going
[48:56]to burn the house but he made it clear that the will
[48:59]of the prophet stops me from taking this bloodshed even further yes
[49:02]third they say well the arabs would never do that which arabs
[49:07]the sarifa arabs the reef and hawazin and others many of these
[49:14]already had a hate and a vengeance that they wanted to take
[49:16]out on the holy household number four when you see a man
[49:22]saying i'm gonna threaten to burn the house isn't that enough for
[49:24]you to realize that that person will actually go at what they
[49:28]do number five why a secret burial if you died naturally just
[49:31]have a public burial number six why do none of us know
[49:34]where she's buried simple reality if she died the natural death imam
[49:41]all of us know where why her in particular nobody knows why
[49:45]as a symbol against the oppression of that time just in case
[49:50]there are some of you who think that i was not oppressed
[49:53]show me where's my grave can any of us see her grave
[49:56]can any of us find her grave we search in bahrain wherever
[50:02]we walk and for all we know we may be walking on
[50:04]her grave one day imagine that feeling that all of us have
[50:08]that we don't know if we are on the grave of fatima
[50:12]or not so therefore she was the nemesis against that government and
[50:16]she and this is a vital point if imam al-hussein showed in
[50:23]his stand that yazid's government was illegitimate then his mom done exactly
[50:28]the same thing 50 years before him why is this he's government
[50:34]illegitimate because hussein bin ali stood up do you agree the fact
[50:38]that says the government that's enough if his mom does it 50
[50:41]years earlier what's the difference if his mom agrees with that government
[50:45]it's a legitimate government if his mom says no it's illegitimate and
[50:51]therefore you found am i surprised that hussain bin ali emerges the
[50:55]way he emerges no at the end of the day if you
[50:59]have a mother like fatama standing up against the oppression of her
[51:02]time then you'll do the same question how did the umayyads find
[51:08]her because she eventually dies becomes a martyr if we fast forward
[51:14]the years later how did the umayyads find fatima did they see
[51:17]her as glorious did the muslims all see her as glorious how
[51:22]did the kuffin see uh the umayyads reached the stage by the
[51:24]way where they were cursing fatima in their pulpits the abbasids is
[51:29]a different story and alkavi and with people are warned don't praise
[51:33]ali and for there are many haters of ali and fatima the
[51:38]umaids had christian poets who would curse father one may argue that
[51:44]zayd in his revolution stood up against these poets and stood up
[51:49]against the umayyads had those who hated fatima who disrespected fatima the
[51:54]kuffins had those who loved fatima and had those who may have
[52:00]not respected fatima but on the 10th of muharram what do you
[52:04]find you find that sometimes subhanallah you may not be ashi but
[52:08]if you have that love for al-muhammad a seed of that love
[52:14]for al-muhammad a seed of love for zahara it could come to
[52:17]help you one day in guidance towards allah subhana wa ta'ala someone
[52:22]says how you look on the tenth of muharram when's her name
[52:28]mentioned one of the times her name is mentioned is by her
[52:32]lovers that young man whose mother is there on the tenth of
[52:36]muharram and she is there and she sees all the other mothers
[52:40]have given sons and you see this young boy next to his
[52:42]mom and she is like it's your turn now you go out
[52:47]and make me proud he turned around to his mom he said
[52:50]watch me i'll make you proud he goes to abba abdullah and
[52:53]he says to him it's my turn is that a young man
[52:57]go and look after your mother go and protect your mother went
[53:00]back to his mom his mom said why have you come back
[53:02]said he said to me he doesn't want me to go out
[53:04]he said you have to protect you said no on the country
[53:06]you will make me proud today go out and tell them who
[53:11]you are his lines of poetry until today they cause us to
[53:19]cry to break down our heart becomes softened softer because of this
[53:24]young man's poetry amir hussain allah all of you know it all
[53:28]of you know these lines but i want you to focus in
[53:34]particular at his description when he gets to fataman okay my prince
[53:40]my master is hussein and this is all of us in this
[53:45]hall all of you watching at home can relate to these lines
[53:47]well i think all of us wish we could have said these
[53:51]nines is my prince and the most blessed prince the one who
[54:16]brought happiness to the one who guided and reminded ali and fatima
[54:21]are his parents have you found an equal to come near him
[54:25]allah young man but that he gave every shia on earth lives
[54:34]by it that we all wish we were in karbala tonight and
[54:36]if we were holding that man that young man highlighted his love
[54:57]for fathamatazhara then there was another one this other one believe you
[55:06]me this other one his love for fatima saved him all of
[55:13]us ya allah we love fatima but his love for fatima at
[55:19]which moment when he encounters imam al-hussein even at salah time he
[55:37]says abba abdullah you have to lead us even though he's the
[55:39]leader of the opposition he says you are here how can i
[55:43]lead salah so when does his love of fatima show he blocks
[55:48]imam al-hussein from going to kufa he says i will not let
[55:56]you go imam al-hussein says something to him is like when someone
[56:04]has literally attacked your mom may your mom have never given birth
[56:09]to you the reply of horubini highlights to all of you wallah
[56:16]if you have a love for allah you will be saved on
[56:20]the day of judgment and wallah if you show hate to fatima
[56:23]then on that day may allah save you he looked at her
[56:28]he said to him may your mother have never given birth to
[56:33]you what does her reply if you were the son of any
[56:37]other lady if you were the son of any other lady then
[56:44]i would attack you but your mother is fatima how can i
[56:50]say anything to you you can imagine i i've never seen this
[56:58]narrated in traditions i'm saying this from myself you can imagine because
[57:03]of the politeness of harambe he had that moment where anybody else
[57:08]had you attacked his mom he would have attacked your mom because
[57:11]par said i cannot your mom is father i believe maybe abba
[57:19]abdullah prayed and said guide him guide him because he has a
[57:26]respect for my mother and how close was imam hussain to his
[57:30]mother and that's why the morning of the 10th of muharram came
[57:38]and but one of the soldiers said i looked at her and
[57:46]you know people were counting that you know what if harmony is
[57:50]at the front no one loses war it doesn't matter who's in
[57:53]front of him he said i looked at her and when i
[57:57]looked at him i thought to myself that if they told me
[58:02]who's the bravest soldier in the whole of kufa i'd say but
[58:05]i look at him and he looks confused so i came towards
[58:10]myself what's wrong with you if they ask me who's the bravest
[58:13]of the warriors then i'd say it's what's wrong you seem confused
[58:24]and he mentioned what he mentioned the two things affected him at
[58:30]that moment what were they i give this to all of you
[58:36]now the first of them was that last night i heard the
[58:39]children of fatha calling out last night i heard that was the
[59:04]first one what was the second thing that affected him shimmer bundle
[59:08]joshua that day had said put water on the hooves of the
[59:14]horses the horses are feeling the heat of carabella get them some
[59:20]water you care about the horses how about the family of rasulullah
[59:24]at that moment he thought to himself i have to make a
[59:40]between heaven and hell at that moment he walked towards abba abdullah
[59:49]with his head about down knowing that he had blocked the water
[59:56]from the children when he got to imam hussain he came out
[60:01]to him because he thought maybe an attack could come imam and
[60:05]they said no no wait abbas maybe he has something to say
[60:08]to us remember a few days earlier he had known very well
[60:12]that this horror had already said to him i respect your mother
[60:17]father so he knew there was the seeds of change so he
[60:20]came to him with his head bowed down when he came to
[60:24]him and his head was bowed down what did he say to
[60:28]him he said to him abba abdullah forgive me forgive me for
[60:33]blocking allow me to come back imam hussain look at the softness
[60:36]of his heart he said to him don't worry i forgive you
[60:41]the next thing that said why because it's as if he knew
[60:51]what would happen to say that maybe because of his decision he
[60:55]walked [Music] [Applause] of course we forgive you do not worry he
