[11:48]historians Habib when was he born we are told he was born

[11:54]in an area in modern day Saudi or in Arabia known as

[11:59]b n he he was born in which date we don't know

[12:02]the date yet we can deduce it how do we deduce it

[12:07]on the 10th of muharam was 75 years of age therefore through

[12:12]deduction we come to the conclusion that he was born 14 years

[12:16]before the hij and one year before the of the holy prophet

[12:23]Muhammad s of course Habib is from the tribe of Ben Assad

[12:33]this tribe that is fairly well known in Arabia and indeed a

[12:40]tribe that took part in many Expeditions and battles before Islam that

[12:46]it deres its name from a man by the name of assb

[12:50]Ben Assad stand for a number of noble traits we are told

[12:57]that Ben Assad first or a number of them embraced the religion

[13:00]of Islam in the year 9 after Hijra when a delegation came

[13:05]to meet the holy prophet peace and blessings be upon him and

[13:08]his holy progeny and they embraced the religion of Islam yet in

[13:11]examination of historical records reveals the Merit of Ben Assad in many

[14:57]the marketplace in kufa looking to buy color in order to color

[15:02]his beard at that moment he met Muslim who also from when

[15:05]he met Muslim he said to him I see that you're wearing

[15:09]armor in order to go and fight what has happened he said

[15:15]replied back by saying that Muslim had been executed and attained mm

[15:49]of his father on a spear and wanted to buy the head

[15:54]of his father in kufa later on he sought the killer of

[15:59]his father from Ben tamim and found him alongside the army of

[16:03]when M was fighting B he entered the tent he saw this

[16:08]man who had killed and beheaded his father Habib he also beheaded

[16:12]him carried his head musab arrested him and executed him we are

[16:20]told muhamad the other son of attained shahada and M on the

[16:27]10th of mam with his father in caral when you analyze this

[16:33]particular individual you recognize what you recognize the question that people ask

[16:38]was he a sahabi of the Prophet or not because today historians

[16:44]come forward and ask the question did ever meet or not in

[16:50]my humble research there are two schools of opinion and please focus

[17:54]objective academically look at this narration the first is what it is

[18:09]number two what was the age of Habib when im was young

[18:17]because we said was born 14 years before IM Hussein was born

[18:23]either 3 years or four years after Hijra and if he was

[18:27]playing he must have been at least 3 years of age so

[18:30]at that particular time habib's age must have been 20 because if

[18:36]you add 14 yes plus three when Imam was born plus three

[18:39]if Imam was three years of age when the children were playing

[18:45]that makes the age of Habib 20 it is difficult to see

[18:48]how Habib at a 20y old will play with the children that's

[18:52]a bit difficult likewise what do we find we find not many

[18:55]we don't find any records from historians and Scholars who come forward

[18:59]and say that M as well asib his son we in Medina

[19:05]we do not have records except a possibility that amongst Ben Assad

[19:10]when they came to meet the prophet in the year n after

[19:15]Hijra and declare their Islam it is likely that Habib was there

[19:17]with them he came and that he embraced Islam and he declared

[19:24]his support for the holy prophet one school of thought has that

[19:29]particular opinion the other says no there is no doubt that if

[19:31]there is ambiguity whether Habib was a sahab of the Prophet or

[19:37]not there is no doubt about his special status in relation to

[19:40]the commander of the [Music] faithful in that no one can argue

[19:55]that was one of the special of the commander of the faithful

[20:05]he fought with him in J in in narrations tells us after

[20:08]each battle Habib would be disappointed Imam would say to him why

[20:12]do I see you disappointed he would say I wanted Shah I

[20:18]wanted M IM would say to him you will definitely attain M

[20:21]yet fighting alongside my son Al Hussein on the 10th in the

[20:30]Battle of carala at the same time was known as one of

[22:21]were individuals who recognized this particular in which way we are told

[22:27]that the same speaks about the fact that the prophets of God

[22:34]are all manifestations of his light they are all he goes on

[22:39]to say however the light of the light the light in which

[24:10]which should have been followed but is not a necessarily Disobedience of

[25:31]on the night of the hij when he would say to the

[25:35]prophet as long as you will be protected and your life will

[25:41]be saved I am obedient and I will do whatever you say

[25:44]and that's why Allah subhah wa tala said to the Mal who

[25:48]amongst you would sacrifice their lives for the other none of them

[25:51]will he then would say look at my servant Ali he's prepared

[25:56]to sacrifice his life for my servant Muhammad go and protect him

[26:00]they would come down next to the head of and would say

[26:05]to him who is like you and Allah is showing you off

[26:14]to the angels of the heavens yes and at the same time

[26:19]what do we find we find she says isa's mother was pregnant

[26:24]she was in a house of God she was worshiping God she's

[26:29]about to go into labor Allah subhah wa tala says to her

[26:35]now you leave my house and you go under a palm tree

[26:37]and you delivera there whereas you look at was told go inside

[26:53]that what that this particular individual Associated himself with and taught him

[27:01]this knowledge what is this knowledge this knowledge that the would specifically

[27:08]choose certain individuals and teach them about aspects which other human beings

[27:21]at the time of death for themselves and others that's why the

[27:25]famous narration says in kufa in a gathering of Ben Assad we

[30:19]find this emphasis upon knowledge is one that was established by Habib

[30:22]he was a teacher and narrator of Hadith who would sit in

[30:28]MF and teach people of Al muhamad the question arises now if

[30:32]we are to be Orin if we are to take the example

[30:40]of Habib what is our relationship when it comes to seeking knowledge

[30:43]let me be a bit more specific as an example how many

[30:46]of us have committed to for instance reading books improving our understanding

[30:52]of our Dean not just leaving it to the malalis not just

[30:56]isolating it to the Adas or whatever we come across we make

[31:02]a commitment to ensure that we have a program of study in

[31:06]order for our hearts to be illuminated because what it needs that

[31:10]commitment tell me why is it in the west that we don't

[31:19]have libraries Shia Muslim libraries open for all with so many books

[31:24]where it is busy people coming in studying taking books out that

[31:28]we should have these centers of learning and dissemination of the this

[34:15]this relationship with the Holy Quran yes have we developed institutions think

[34:19]tanks organizations to advance the teachings of the Holy Quran especially in

[34:25]the west have we made sure that we we inculcate Upon Our

[34:30]Youth and our children the importance of the Holy Quran and the

[34:36]need to number one memorize number two recite in Arabic and learn

[34:40]the correct recitation in Arabic and number three seek the meaning and

[34:45]the interpretation and how it has relevance continuous application in our lives

[34:59]travel and which utilize Airlines yes in this particular country and other

[35:06]as your baggage and your luggage is concerned there is a weight

[35:14]limit on the luggage that you carry with you that you take

[36:26]that it becomes part in parcel of us and it mixes with

[36:31]our flesh and with our existence and then when we leave to

[36:37]the Hereafter it comes with us just like how the candy was

[36:43]part of us when we go on the plane yes that when

[36:44]you and I are going onto we cannot take anything physical with

[36:50]us isn't it but if the Quran is part of us if

[36:55]the Quran is something that we have developed and inculcated within our

[36:59]existence it will definitely come to our assistance and help in and

[37:06]that's why our six IM would come forward and say that the

[37:26]one of their characteristic is that they seek to recite the Quran

[37:33]on a frequent basis they are not those who have abandoned the

[37:35]Quran that the prophet will complain about on the day of judgment

[37:39]they recognize that they are in a better position to be because

[37:44]they have the to interpret the Quran the way it should be

[37:48]interpreted and that's why they seek this and develop this relationship of

[37:52]the Quran just like likewise another key characteristic and a feature and

[38:03]attribute of this great companion of is what his focus upon Salah

[38:07]because today he is known as the mar of Salah why we

[38:13]are told in narrations and in the books of M that he

[38:16]attained his martydom in defense of the prayers that was established and

[40:28]will what will indeed not attain well those who will take their

[40:35]praise lightly will not attain the isn't it one example I gave

[40:38]of taking praise lightly this is a huge subject but one note

[40:43]of reminder for our brothers and that is what the dress code

[40:47]when they come to perform their prayers what do we mean often

[40:52]we speak about hijab and the need for modesty and Chastity for

[40:55]our sisters and the brothers According to some of the youngsters are

[41:00]chillaxing you know they're relaxed they say you know it's nothing to

[41:03]do with me they doze off thinking about you know I don't

[41:08]know the latest basketball game or whatever and then they come back

[41:11]when the recitation is about something else yet this is concerning the

[41:14]brothers because I have seen it in my own eyes in many

[41:19]different communities and that is what some of our respected brothers when

[41:22]they come to Salah their dress code leaves a lot to be

[41:25]designed in which way they would wear especially in the Summer shirts
