[0:20]ahead please that would be good brothers and sisters welcome to the

[0:36]third night of muharram program as we gather to commemorate let each

[0:46]one of us use this occasion as a lesson to diligently apply

[0:52]the remembrance of allah and the better and and to better connect

[0:55]with our creator in this manner with every passing year of ashura

[1:02]we may build the spiritual foundation to emulate the resolve of the

[1:08]companions of imam hussain allah so that perhaps one day we can

[1:14]achieve the level of devotion and spirituality needed to stand and truly

[1:19]and sincerely resonate awards we wish we were there with you so

[1:28]that we would achieve a glorious victory dear brothers and sisters places

[1:32]and centers like mecca and the programs that they offer is what

[1:37]we need to get to that level of devotion these programs only

[1:41]happen with your health support and of course um your presence here

[1:48]um i'm going to ask everyone to please fill the chairs on

[1:53]the on the back in the name of allah we are asking

[6:13]be taking care and they will be managing and doing the whole

[6:18]measures for the youth we have another activity as well that i

[6:21]want to pronounce here uh there is also a youth ashura art

[6:26]competition for which submissions are due on august 25 please see the

[6:30]flyers on the wall for more details we will have prizes for

[6:34]the best submissions and it is open to ever to a wide

[6:39]variety of age groups this is your opportunity opportunity to be creative

[6:42]and show off your god-given talents um so as you may have

[6:47]noticed we have a lot of youth activities here so um you

[6:50]know i'm a parent here and i encourage all the parents to

[6:54]sign up their kids to be part of that group we have

[6:56]a lot of activities especially for the youth for all the age

[7:03]groups finally uh we will be having uh nightly poetry and latmiya

[7:06]though english recitation is encouraged uh all languages and recitals are welcome

[7:11]as well so if you are interested please see me we can

[7:15]sign you up for the upcoming days to do either poetry or

[7:19]the uh la mia and of course we have to love me

[17:59]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has chosen to honor and dignify the human

[18:09]being allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has favored the human with qualities that

[18:17]make the human being superior to all other creation and this is

[18:23]why allah subhanahu wa ta'ala orders the angels to do sujud to

[18:30]the human being what is it that allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gave

[18:36]the human that makes the human being different that makes the human

[18:42]being superior to the other creation allah subhanahu wa ta'ala endowed the

[18:46]human being with qualities that favor the human over the other creation

[18:55]the first and the foremost is the intellect it is through the

[19:04]intellect that allah subhanahu wa ta'ala makes the human being greater than

[19:08]the other creation and the most honored creation of god is the

[19:16]intellect itself in a hadith from imam he says first thing god

[19:26]created was the intellect and then allah orders and it obeys god

[19:38]because it knows that it makes sense to obey the creator then

[19:43]he tells it go and it obeys allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and

[19:48]then allah says by my honor by my glory i have not

[20:02]created anything more beloved to me than you the and it is

[20:09]through you i will reward people and through you i will punish

[20:15]people this is the akal my dear brothers and sisters this is

[20:19]what distinguishes the human being from the animals and it is the

[20:24]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala first endowed and gave the human being allah

[20:30]says in the quran adam and he didn't just leave adam go

[20:40]and do whatever you want to do no allah taught adam adam

[20:54]gave the human being the ability to communicate using intellect but he

[21:15]gave you the ability to communicate the commit the ability to interact

[21:20]the ability to grow the ability to spot to prosper this is

[21:27]one gift that allah endowed the human with and a second gift

[21:34]that makes the human being even greater than the angels is not

[21:39]the because the angels they have higher intellect than the human being

[21:44]but it is the ability to choose choice free choice allah subhanahu

[21:49]wa ta'ala gave you the ability to choose how you want your

[21:54]life to be whether you want to be a believer or a

[21:57]non-believer it is up to you to choose whether you want to

[22:03]succeed in life it is up to you to choose and allah

[22:07]says in the quran says that the human being has been chosen

[22:38]but at the end of the day it is you who decides

[22:42]whether you want to believe in god or not believe in allah

[22:46]it is you who decides whether you want to succeed whether you

[22:53]whatever decision you make in life it is you that decides that

[22:56]and through these two main gifts through the aqua and through the

[23:03]freedom of choice that is what the human being has used to

[23:07]excel today the humans have achieved so much humans have gone to

[23:15]space technological advancements medical advancements this is all by the intellect and

[23:21]choice because allah subhanahu wa ta'ala wants you to think allah wants

[23:26]you to ponder allah wants you to make decisions in life and

[23:37]the most important decision that a person is to make in their

[23:43]life allah has left it up to you as well and that

[23:44]is the decision to discover god the ability to discover the truth

[23:51]and the decision to decide whether you want to accept god or

[23:53]do not accept god it is up to you see how allah

[23:58]has dignified the human being that he leaves this very serious matter

[24:02]up to the human being you are the one who is responsible

[24:08]in discovering the truth and in choosing to be with the truth

[24:11]allah could have forced you allah could have forced us all to

[24:16]be believers would that have been difficult for god would that have

[24:19]been something impossible no allah subhanahu wa ta'ala dignified the human being

[24:24]and gave the human being the ability to discover the truth and

[24:30]decipher rights from wrong and to make a decision in life if

[24:45]your lord wanted everyone would have been a believer should you are

[24:50]you the one who forces people to believe this means faith my

[24:55]dear brothers and sisters the belief in god is all about conviction

[24:59]it's about discovery of the truth allah wants you to use all

[25:05]of the gifts that he gave you that he provided for you

[25:10]so that you may discover the truth on your own and since

[25:14]the beginning of creation humans have been asking this very important question

[25:19]who created us what is our purpose here what are we doing

[25:26]here why are we asking this question this is the fitrah that

[25:29]we spoke about yesterday it's the fitrah that innate consciousness that allah

[25:34]has pro has programmed within every single one of us to ask

[25:42]these existential questions who created us where's what is our purpose why

[25:48]are we here god made every single one of us ask these

[25:52]questions and my dear brothers and sisters we come to the topic

[25:55]of tonight a very serious question especially in an in a free

[26:02]society that we are living in where people ask where is god

[26:06]who created me what is the purpose what are the signs of

[26:12]god this is a very important question my dear brothers and sisters

[26:16]because every single one of us has to discover the truth on

[26:20]their own you should not say i'm a muslim because i was

[26:23]born in a muslim family i'm a believer because my parents are

[26:26]believers no you need to be a believer because you have been

[26:31]convinced that this is the truth and if you're not convinced then

[26:34]go and try to be convinced go and do research go and

[26:38]read allah has given you the capability allah has given you the

[26:41]eyes and the ears and the ability to ponder the ability to

[26:48]ask questions ask questions go and discover the truth allah wants you

[26:52]to discover the truth and here it brings us to this very

[26:56]serious question that people ask is it a shame full thing to

[27:01]ask this question not at all today some people some parents they

[27:07]come to me and they say i'm ashamed my son or my

[27:09]daughter they come and they say i don't know about god where's

[27:13]the proof for god is that a shameful question to ask no

[27:15]it's not my dear brothers and sisters because every single one of

[27:21]us needs to ask that question and we need to discover the

[27:23]truth every single one of us needs to reach conviction if you're

[27:29]just blindly believing then that faith has no value or if you're

[27:33]forced to believe then also has no value you need to reach

[27:38]conviction and sometimes in order to have conviction you need to ask

[27:42]some difficult questions sometimes you need to ask some uncomfortable questions it's

[27:48]our duty to seek the answers don't make a quick judgment and

[27:54]say there's no god i don't believe because my teacher told me

[27:57]no go and discover the truth go and use your capabilities go

[28:03]and use the gifts that allah has given you the power of

[28:06]the intellect and the ability to make your own free choices don't

[28:11]believe in something because someone else is believing believe because you are

[28:14]convinced that this is the truth so here we come to this

[28:21]very important question what are the signs of god how do i

[28:25]find the traces of a creator and this my dear brothers and

[28:29]sisters even though it is a very important question a necessary question

[28:33]that we will answer but this in itself is a paradox this

[28:40]is an irony where the human being who is a variable who's

[28:43]changing you're either you're meaning that you either exist or don't exist

[28:49]it doesn't matter whether i exist or don't exist we're asking questions

[28:53]about the absolute about god about a paradox in itself isn't this

[29:07]an irony in itself and this is why we see imam al-hussein

[29:10]alaihissalam in his beautiful the dua that we recited a couple of

[29:15]weeks ago of imam al-hussein this beautiful dua that my dear brothers

[29:25]and sisters when you listen to this d'a when you read this

[29:27]dua you know that the person who's saying these words is a

[29:32]person that's willing to sacrifice everything for the sake of god imam

[29:38]al-hussein in this dua he has a beautiful statement he says how

[29:50]can you come and use something to trace you and lead you

[29:56]to god when that thing that you're looking at is in need

[29:58]of god okay is there something that is more apparent more visible

[30:13]than god that we come in we use these traces that lead

[30:18]us to find god and discover god and then when something is

[30:31]lost you need to go and find traces for it you need

[30:36]to have someone help you find it when was god missing when

[30:39]was god not around when was god not visible when was god

[30:44]hidden that we need something or we need to look for signs

[30:49]that lead us to allah subhanahu wa ta'ala my dear brothers and

[30:56]sisters this is for the high level of faith where you believe

[30:58]in god and you don't look for the signs that bring you

[31:02]to god however we all need signs we all need something to

[31:08]look at that brings us to strengthen our faith in allah subhanahu

[31:11]ta'ala there's nothing wrong with that this is why god has created

[31:15]the universe this is why allah look at all this creation around

[31:34]you and my dear brothers and sisters believe me every single creation

[31:39]of god the millions and millions and trillions of creation of god

[31:43]every single creation of god no matter how small it is how

[31:50]microscopic it is or how grand it is where you need a

[31:56]huge 10 billion dollar telescope to look at all of them will

[32:02]lead you to allah every creation will lead you to one conclusion

[32:06]and that is that there is a powerful creator that has mastered

[32:12]this that has put this that has engineered this that has created

[32:17]the sophistication in the universe and brought this order in the universe

[32:21]my dear brothers and sisters every single creation of god no matter

[32:24]how small it is or no matter how great it is they

[32:28]all have several things in common one every creation even the microscopic

[32:35]virus or bacteria or this huge star there's a star by the

[32:43]name of uy scotty the star is the radius of this star

[32:49]is one thousand seven hundred times larger than the radius of the

[32:53]sun a huge star so you look at the smallest something that

[32:57]you need the huge expensive microscope to look at or something so

[33:03]grand they all have this in common what is it every creation

[33:09]has a time of birth and a time of death everything from

[33:17]the bacteria to the virus covid19 and the stars and the sun

[33:24]and the moon and this earth everything has a time of beginning

[33:30]and a time of death meaning everything will die what does this

[33:44]mean if everything has a birth and a death what does that

[33:49]mean that means it has been created that means someone that means

[33:53]there's a power that is more powerful than anything that our eyes

[34:00]see anything that we can think of there's a power that is

[34:03]greater than that and that power is allah subhanahu ta'ala that power

[34:07]is the lord of the universe this is why god cannot be

[34:11]seen with the eyes this is why god cannot be felt this

[34:16]is why god cannot be trapped in time and space because everything

[34:19]that is trapped in time and space has a birth date and

[34:25]a death date in the shamsu this sun that we need for

[34:30]our survival it's going to have a time of death this planet

[34:33]that we're living there's going to be a time that this planet

[34:38]will die it will be unlivable and there's a time that every

[34:41]single one of us will die this logic my dear brothers and

[34:48]sisters this logic that everything has a birth and death this was

[34:51]used by prophet ibrahim five thousand years ago prophet ibrahim there he's

[34:57]in a society of idol worshipers and they're worshiping idols and they

[35:02]tell him look at the sun look at the star look at

[35:05]the moon look at all these things we could worship all of

[35:06]them so ibrahim allah subhanahu wa ta'ala describes in the quran and

[35:20]we show ibrahim we reveal to ibrahim the melakute the grand structure

[35:26]of the samawati and earth of the heavens and the earth so

[35:34]that he can have certainty so that he can have yatin so

[35:39]he has this conversation in front of others non-believers and he shows

[35:45]them once it becomes night he sees a planet he says this

[35:56]is my lord and then [Music] but once the planet disappears you

[36:05]can't see it anymore he says no no my lord is one

[36:06]that's always around how can my lord sleep how can my lord

[36:11]slumber how can my lord set my lord is the all-powerful how

[36:13]can he go and then he says once he sees the moon

[36:24]shining he says this is my lord if my lord once he

[36:34]sees the moon set he says no this cannot be my lord

[36:40]falam sabah once he sees the sun it is shining he says

[36:46]this is my lord this is bigger this is bigger he says

[37:09]no i have to believe in god i have to believe in

[37:12]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and the reason why we believe in god

[37:15]and not idols and nothing else is because everything else has a

[37:22]birth date and a death date everything is weak everything is weak

[37:26]except allah subhanahu wa ta'ala this is one commonality between all creation

[37:33]no matter how small or no matter how big another commonality my

[37:36]dear brothers and sisters is that all creation from the smallest to

[37:42]the largest everything that has been created by god has a system

[37:48]you look within the human body there's the circulatory system the blood

[37:55]circulation the reproductive system all of these systems what does this what

[37:58]does this indicate that someone put this together you look in the

[38:02]universe you look in the sky you look at the sun you

[38:06]look at the stars at the moon there's a system there's an

[38:08]orbit what does the system lead to the system leads you to

[38:14]say that someone has engineered the system a system does not arise

[38:18]on its own imagine you come and you take your phone and

[38:22]you say yeah this just fell from the sky and it became

[38:26]the sophisticated phone that you could call with that you could chat

[38:29]with you could go on facebook with tick tock all these things

[38:33]it just fell from the sky and this is how it happened

[38:35]is this logical is this common sense when you look at something

[38:42]that has a system you realize that there's an engineer there's someone

[38:46]a powerful being that has structured it that has put it together

[38:50]and that powerful being is allah subhanahu ta'ala right now does anyone

[38:58]anyone with common sense says this car just made itself randomly they

[39:04]say maybe you know over time through chance millions and millions of

[39:09]years let's see get all the tools of your car all the

[39:13]screws the wires the metal everything let it fall from the sky

[39:20]a billion times will it make a car let it fall from

[39:23]the sky a trillion times will it make a car it's not

[39:26]going to make a car and even if that happened one in

[39:30]a trillion times this universe is not just one accident that happened

[39:34]it's not just one time that you won a trillion dollar lottery

[39:37]there has to be a million a trillion things that all have

[39:43]to go together so you so it's like someone having to win

[39:45]the lottery trillions of times is that possible so the chance that

[39:52]there is no creator is unscientific it's something that mathematically you cannot

[39:57]accept there has to be a creator there has to be someone

[40:01]that put all of this together and that is allah subhanahu wa

[40:08]ta'ala my dear brothers and sisters a few weeks ago the world

[40:12]was stunned with the images that came out of the james webb

[40:15]telescope this 10 billion dollar telescope it cost over 10 billion dollars

[40:23]and they sent the satellite one million miles away from earth and

[40:31]it captured some nice pictures i don't know if any of you

[40:35]saw those pictures these pictures my dear brothers and sisters captured images

[40:41]from stars that are emitting light 13 13 billion light years away

[40:50]can you imagine how far that is 13 billion light years away

[40:56]one light year is about six trillion miles just one light year

[41:03]is six trillion miles now imagine 13 billion light years away the

[41:09]star emits this light 13 billion years ago and the light of

[41:15]it just reached this telescope named james webb telescope and it captures

[41:18]pictures and you saw these pictures my dear brothers and sisters when

[41:26]we look at the universe when we look at the sun and

[41:27]the stars and the moon and all of these some people they

[41:31]just look at it and they say yeah okay then let me

[41:34]go back to my game on my phone not caring it doesn't

[41:36]change their life it doesn't do anything but allah wants you to

[41:43]ponder allah wants you to think allah wants you to use that

[41:46]great gift that he has given you and allah wants you to

[41:52]observe don't scientists the first thing in the scientific method is what

[41:57]you have to observe you have to see something allah wants you

[42:00]to observe go and look at the universe go and look at

[42:04]the skel go and look at the stars look at the sun

[42:06]look at the moon look at the creation look at a camel

[42:12]allah just wants you to observe and think use the sky when

[42:23]you look at these images coming out of these telescopes you have

[42:30]to think allah says in the creation of the heavens and the

[42:47]earth and the difference between night and day there are signs for

[42:53]those who have intellect allah in the quran if you're a believer

[43:19]you have to think you have to use your intellect that is

[43:21]what will lead you to iman that is what will lead you

[43:27]to accepting god and having conviction in allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and

[43:33]allah 14 100 years ago in the book in the quran tells

[43:36]us to look at the signs of god look at the sky

[43:39]and think ponder him it means we shall show you in the

[43:58]future because at the time of quranic revelation people would look at

[44:02]the star the sun they didn't have these images they didn't have

[44:06]the knowledge that science is providing for us right now in the

[44:10]future you will see signs you're going to see the miracles of

[44:18]god in the horizons and within yourselves until you are convinced and

[44:28]you are certain that god is the truth what are these signs

[44:31]so right now there are two areas of high level advancement that

[44:44]the humans have reached one is in space space technology and second

[44:50]in medicine and these should bring you back to god this should

[44:58]all gravitate you to believe in allah and my dear brothers and

[45:05]sisters the quran talks about a lot of things that just recently

[45:10]in the last hundred years in the last 50 years we have

[45:15]come to understand that the quran was talking about these scientific discoveries

[45:19]fourteen hundred years ago fourteen hundred years ago the quran comes down

[45:24]on a group of people in the desert talking about scientific discoveries

[45:28]that are being discovered now and this is one of the miracles

[45:34]of the quran my dear brothers and sisters there are many dimensions

[45:36]many ways that the quran is a miracle for the arabs at

[45:41]the time of quranic revelation they would look at the eloquence of

[45:45]the quran that was the miracle for them but today the majority

[45:48]of the muslims are the arab or non-arab non-era in fact the

[45:53]arabs are a minority so how can a whole book come and

[45:58]try to convince me just because it's a very eloquent book no

[46:01]now there's another dimension that we have to look at and that

[46:07]is the the signs that the quran talks about that we are

[46:10]being that are being discovered now in our era that is what

[46:12]will get my children that is what will get our students to

[46:18]accept and believe in allah subhanahu wa ta'ala i'll mention just a

[46:22]few of these signs just to strengthen our faith in allah subhanahu

[46:25]wa ta'ala and our faith in the quran in 1913 there was

[46:34]a french physicist he discovered that there is something between earth and

[46:42]space and that is protecting earth that is protecting us from the

[46:52]sun and that is protecting us from meteors what is that that

[46:55]is the ozone layer the ozone layer it's a ceiling an invisible

[47:01]ceiling that protects us that keeps the oxygen on earth that protects

[47:06]us from all of these things that are flying in space this

[47:12]was discovered in 1913 talks about it 1400 years ago in the

[47:16]quran and we made within the sky a ceiling there's a ceiling

[47:29]in the sky that is protecting you right now if you go

[47:34]and you look out you see the sun you don't see that

[47:38]there's a ceiling but allah subhanahu ta'ala has made this invisible ceiling

[47:43]that protects us this is the ozone layer and allah subhanahu wa

[47:47]ta'ala talks about it in the quran another thing my dear brothers

[47:52]and sisters here sometimes the quran does an oath by the star

[47:59]one sometimes allah does an oath by the sun sometimes allah subhanahu

[48:03]ta'ala does an oath not by the star itself but by the

[48:08]position of the star what does that mean the position of the

[48:14]star you know right now when you look at the sun of

[48:17]course not now it's dark outside but during the day when you

[48:21]look at the sun you look you see it's right above you

[48:23]is the sun at that particular moment exactly above you no the

[48:30]sun has moved eight minutes the light of the sun takes eight

[48:37]minutes and some seconds to reach you because the sun is so

[48:39]far it takes eight minutes to eat you so if you want

[48:44]to in the month of ramadan if you want to break your

[48:45]fast a little bit earlier maghrib time you could say the sun

[48:49]has already set and we're just eight minutes behind i'm just kidding

[48:52]don't use that so here the the sun when the stars they're

[49:01]emitting light but the light is reaching us many hours many days

[49:05]many years later as we mentioned some of the furthest stars are

[49:09]13 billion light years away so allah subhanahu ta'ala when he does

[49:17]a qasam in the quran in surah surah a very beautiful surah

[49:21]that it is recommended to recite every night especially for risk especially

[49:25]for sustenance allah says in the quran [Music] not by the star

[49:42]itself but by the position of the star because right now that

[49:45]star that you look at over there that star might be dead

[49:49]that star might not even be existing anymore that star might have

[49:53]moved billions and billions of miles away by the time the light

[49:58]of it reaches me so my dear brothers and sisters another sign

[50:16]right now when we look at these images that came out of

[50:21]this telescope the james webb telescope what did you see you see

[50:28]buildings you see cosmic structures in the universe it looks like there's

[50:33]a mountain and it looks like there's a building and it has

[50:35]these weird shapes what is this these are structures that are in

[50:43]space these are structures that are made up of gases and made

[50:46]up of elements and stars that are all put together and they

[50:51]make up these structures allah and within the sky within the universe

[51:03]there are there are structures that are being held up in the

[51:09]middle of the universe within the galaxy in another verse in surat

[51:16]allah says what does mean it means when something is tied together

[51:27]when something is is stitched together it's attached together they call that

[51:36]habook when you look at a planet or you look at the

[51:38]sun or you look at the moon or whatever you look at

[51:41]you see it just floating the sun is floating but the sun

[51:46]is actually attached to something else and the earth is attached to

[51:49]the sun and the moon is attached to earth what is it

[51:53]that's holding everything together gravity we look at it because we're small

[52:01]and we look at us on earth and the sun is so

[52:02]far away but when you look at it as a cosmic structure

[52:06]you see everything is tied together this these images that came out

[52:12]of the james webb telescope it shows everything tied together these things

[52:15]are really far from one another but just because we are looking

[52:18]at it from so far they look like they're making up a

[52:22]structure they look like they're tied together but they're really far from

[52:27]one another so my dear brothers and sisters these are some of

[52:31]the signs of allah subhanahu ta'ala in 1920 there was a scientist

[52:36]by the name of edwin hubble he discovered a great discovery what

[52:43]was that they named the hubble telescope after him he discovered that

[52:48]the universe is always growing it's constantly expanding and expanding and it's

[52:54]expanding at such a fast rate does allah talk about this in

[53:01]the quran yes allah talks about this in the quran and the

[53:09]sama it's being stretched it's growing it's constantly growing and i will

[53:16]end with this my dear brothers and sisters right now stars they

[53:21]come to life and they die when a star dies what is

[53:26]the image how does it look like when a star dies something

[53:31]very very beautiful go and look at the images there's a i

[53:37]looked this up on nasa website it's there's an article it says

[53:40]exploded star blooms like a cosmic flower looks like a rose looks

[53:47]like a flower go and search the images when you have time

[53:50]allah subhanahu ta'ala talks about this in the quran allah says sky

[54:10]explodes it looks like it looks like a flower how do you

[54:22]dare reject god how does this human being dare and have the

[54:27]audacity to reject allah subhanahu wa ta'ala my dear brothers and sisters

[54:32]these are just some of the wonders of god a small number

[54:36]this is a drop in the ocean of the signs of god

[54:41]that the quran talks about but at the end of the day

[54:46]it is you who have to you have to discover the truth

[54:49]and you have to make the decision to be on the truth

[54:53]and we are held accountable we will be rewarded and we will

[54:58]be punished based on the decisions that we make on the day

[55:00]of judgment i can't stand in front of god and say illahi

[55:05]i was fooled into this someone told me to believe in this

[55:07]and someone told me to believe in that no you need to

[55:11]make your own decision if someone is telling you to not believe

[55:14]in god go and ask why if someone says there's no proof

[55:20]of god keep looking and you will discover the truth my dear

[55:30]use our intellect so that we make sound decisions and life and

[55:34]we are responsible for the decisions that we make imam al-hussein he

[55:40]made a decision using his intellect imam al-hussein was not deceived today

[55:45]some people they come and they say the people of kufa they

[55:49]wrote letters to imam and hussain and they deceived him come to

[55:52]us come to us and then imam al-hussein goes and then he

[55:56]was killed and they did they betrayed him no imam al-hussein is

[56:01]much greater than being deceived imam al-hussein he used his intellect and

[56:05]he made a choice in life and every single one of us

[56:10]we have to use our intellect and make choices and decisions every

[56:14]day and every moment in our lives the decision that imam al-hussein

[56:22]made was a decision to stand against yazid that's it when everyone

[56:25]remains quiet i have to speak the truth i have to stand

[56:31]with my morals i have to stand with my principles and imam

[56:35]al-hussein stood with the truth and he did not compromise he made

[56:39]a decision that's it and the decision that he made was in

[56:43]rajab when he left madinah we mentioned last night how imam hussain

[56:48]left madinah after muawiyah died during the month of rajab but imam

[56:54]al-hussein when he left madinah he didn't go straight to karbala imam

[56:59]al-hussein when he left madina in the month of rajab he goes

[57:04]to mecca to perform the hajj he goes and he stays in

[57:10]mecca for months waiting for the hajj he does and then there

[57:15]while he's in mecca he hears rumors he hears news that yazid

[57:24]has sent assassins to kill imam al-hussein during the hajj even if

[57:27]he's holding on to the ka'ba what does this mean this means

[57:32]that yazid did not want to give masjid al-haram its sanctity that

[57:35]allah subhanahu ta'ala has given it whoever enters and mecca and masjid

[57:43]al-haram needs to be at peace there's sacred life within mecca you

[57:51]can't even hurt an animal you can't even pull out a plant

[57:55]in mecca but yazid wanted to kill the grandson of the prophet

[58:03]in mecca during the hajj so imam and hussain he made a

[58:07]decision to leave on the 8th of the the hajjaj on the

[58:12]8th of the heading from mecca all the way to minna and

[58:19]from there to arafat to attend on the 9th of the arafat

[58:22]the day of arafah imam al-hussein he made the decision and he

[58:29]declared publicly that he's revolting against yazid he was not trying to

[58:35]deceive people he wasn't trying to hide it and he stood next

[58:40]to the kaaba and he turned with his back to the ka'ba

[58:42]in front of all the muslims thousands of people and he delivered

[58:47]a sermon is just as the neck goes around the the necklace

[59:35]goes around the neck of a young child death will come around

[59:42]you as well it will come to you sooner or later a

[59:46]and i miss my ancestors i miss rasulallah i miss fatima zara

[59:52]i miss amir al-mu'mineen i miss my brother imam al-hassan my uncles

[59:58]hamza and jaffar awlahani illa yearning for yusuf this is how i

[60:11]yearn to see my grandfather rasool allah and then he says yes

[60:18]i have been given the option i shall meet my end now

[60:27]we see he even tells them the location today some people they

[60:32]say imam and hussain was deceived imam hussain didn't know what was

[60:36]going on they wrote letters and he went after power no imam

[60:39]was saying he was not deceived and he made sure that his

[60:45]companions were not deceived this is why he tells them enough he

[60:59]says whoever is ready to sacrifice whoever is ready to give their

[61:06]life for the sake of god then i'm leaving tomorrow insha'allah my

[61:10]dear brothers and sisters we want to be followers of imam al-mahdi

[61:15]we have to be followers like the companions of imam and hussein

[61:18]those companions that left with him they knew they were going towards

[61:24]certain death today the people of kufa some people they wrote letters

[61:28]to imam hussain but they didn't want imam hussain the imam they

[61:31]thought he was going to come he's going to be victorious and

[61:35]they say let's just write this letter so that when he has

[61:37]power we will be with him that's not the companions imam and

[61:40]mahdi wants some of us but we are not truly with the

[61:48]imam of our time be like the companions of imam al-hussein who

[61:53]were going towards certain death knowing that they are with their imam

[61:58]and whatever happens they are going to remain with their iman in

[62:18]order to preserve makkah and masjid al-haram and he decided to head

[62:26]out towards kufa and there he begins to travel days and weeks

[62:34]this journey lasted imam and hussain counts from the 8th of dulhajja

[62:38]until the second of muharram a day like today the caravan of

[62:45]imam al-hussein stops in karbala imam al-hussein reaches karbala on a day

[62:50]like today on the second of muharram he had a camalier this

[62:53]camalier he used to head the caravan and he used to head

[62:59]the caravan of imam hussain and this camalier they would travel at

[63:03]night they would travel at night and during the day they would

[63:08]rest this camalier he would recite poetry as he is leading the

[63:14]caravan of imam al-hussein alaihissalam [Music] foreign [Music] this camel air was

[64:05]going and this caravan of light going towards certain martyrdom imagine the

[64:10]greatest people that step on this earth are walking in this caravan

[64:17]they are riding this caravan and they're going towards certain death and

[64:22]imam al-hussein while he's traveling many stories happened he would keep remembering

[64:31]yahya the son of zakaria and he says this dunya has no

[64:36]value that the head of yahya was given as a gift tape

[64:40]to a king to a prostitute imam hussain would say this while

[64:46]he's traveling because imam al-hussein knows that his head was going to

[64:51]also be given as a gift to your seat imam al-hussein is

[64:58]traveling and suddenly he's riding his horse suddenly he sees that his

[65:04]horse comes to a pause mohave does it have another someone says

[65:38]when imam and hussain heard the name karbala he remembered the words

[65:43]of his grandfather rasool allah and his father amir al-mu'min as soon

[65:49]as he heard the word karbala he says oh allah i seek

[66:00]refuge in you from all trials and tribulations [Music] this is where

[66:19]our children are going to be butchered this is where our men

[66:29]will be killed this is where the daughters of rasulullah are going

[66:41]to be taken as captives on foreign [Music] when he told his

[67:48]family to settle here zainab was relaxed because zainab looks to one

[67:53]side she sees her brother fathers to the other side she sees

[68:01]her nephew ali akbar she sees qasim she sees ali in the

[68:06]hands of his mother this was one day the second of maharam

[68:10]but there was a second day that was heartbreaking for zayn up

[68:16]and that was the 11th of maharam when zainab looks to her

[68:20]right and turn left there's no abbas infant was not around anymore
