[0:03][Music] a heart of stones too hard to cry a mind that's
[0:16]closed won't wonder why a foolish man is deaf and blind a
[0:28]coward always stays in line but a soul that prostrates on its
[0:33]face with trembling heart seeking God's grace won't hide from truth can't
[0:40]hide the pain Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein I was born in Buffalo
[0:54]New York in 1948 a hunger that liability I mean my mother
[0:58]and father were really really close no they came from the same
[1:05]general place back in Arkansas somewhere they made sure that we had
[1:10]a real strong religious upbringing we were raised his Catholic so I'm
[1:16]gonna take athlete's school I hung that it not be allowed I
[1:20]mean for me um religion meant a lot because I was really
[1:25]sick when I was a kid I had asthma really really bad
[1:32]and because of that I had brushes with death and not only
[1:37]that when I was in when I was seven because it was
[1:43]the year we I took my first communion a classmate was hit
[1:49]by a truck and killed on the way from school was the
[1:53]funeral home and I stopped in to view his body as a
[1:58]seven year old and you could see the tire marks across his
[2:01]face I never will forget it the idea of death was very
[2:07]very real to me I knew that one day I was going
[2:17]to die Salaam so being taught catechism as a Catholic was the
[2:21]thing that I wanted to do I wanted to be on the
[2:25]side of angels I think that the primary thing that impacted upon
[2:28]my life was my father mashallah I mean he taught us primarily
[2:32]that he taught us reason does his primary thing you go I'm
[2:40]sending you this Catholic school and you have sermons on the daily
[2:43]basis I want to know what those sermons said that's what he
[2:46]taught us and honor and to be reasonable that you have to
[2:52]to understand the masala there's nothing worse than it ended that's what
[2:56]he would tomorrow and and not only that he taught us how
[3:00]not to be a gopher a gopher is a person that will
[3:04]go for anything gullible somebody was gullible if Islam taught me anything
[3:12]that is what Islam taught me because I have a huge ego
[3:18]you know my my parents have huge egos my mother was a
[3:21]was a classical pianist my father was a classical singer you know
[3:24]he's sung for the Buffalo Scala Caparo mashallah which is the chorale
[3:30]for the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra to have a to have a colossal
[3:35]ego and to not recognize al hamdulillah irritability mean the praise to
[3:40]him Lord of the world is damning and that was the thing
[3:46]that cooled my jets about Islam was what Islam taught me martial
[3:50]love that okay yeah you did all this and you did all
[3:52]that and blah blah blah blah blah alhamdulillah here I'd be a
[3:57]lot of mean because if it wasn't for him the grace and
[4:00]mercy of Allah you have done anything with Joe's ball tricks and
[4:12]lies Hussain chose death not compromise this prophets son would not bow
[4:23]down preferring death to being bound to evil hymns satanic son so
[4:32]with his death the Imam one Islam's loss was Islam's gain Hussein
[4:39]Hussein Hussein Hussein my journalism instructor Margaret long who was like a
[4:51]pioneer in journalism she is one of the first really heavy female
[4:53]journalists I went to her and told her I'm quitting I got
[4:57]to get out of here she said well you need to take
[5:00]off a little while what do you want to do I said
[5:01]I'd like to get a job as a reporter I've been writing
[5:07]as a professional before so I got a job working at a
[5:14]New York Post she got me the job and that ended up
[5:17]being a complete disaster because I guess I didn't know my place
[5:21]you see you know the first day I got there in New
[5:31]York City there were three baby killings that's the kind of stuff
[5:35]that goes on in a great metropolitan paper a place like New
[5:41]York City there were three baby killers naturally I was assigned to
[5:46]the black babies that were killed in fact it was three of
[5:51]them that died they were all brothers and sisters Hamas Allah and
[5:54]I went and I interviewed the people and lo and behold come
[5:58]to find out after three days of interviewing them and they were
[6:02]mad because it took me that long they'd come to find out
[6:04]that they were not killed they died of natural causes they had
[6:11]a they had a disease and the city had charged the parents
[6:15]with neglect and that all had him arrested mainly because the the
[6:18]chief of the police was name was Hogan at that time didn't
[6:23]do the work that they were supposed to do we did the
[6:25]work the reporters did to work and found out what they really
[6:30]died of a rare disease and the parents were so in were
[6:32]so you know grieved by it they weren't able they actually thought
[6:38]that they were responsible because they thought that they were responsible for
[6:43]the disease you know so we write this paper this article where
[6:46]it's gonna be on the front page at a New York Post
[6:50]that was before the pulse became a rag so what we thought
[6:52]that that was gonna happen but it wasn't it was buried something
[6:58]like five days later because we had exposed chief Hogan on page
[7:04]sixty something at the same time that that was going on I
[7:08]was writing a a white paper on my own about the B
[7:14]Afrin Civil War there actually was the Nigerian civil war it was
[7:18]called here the B Afrin conflict now I didn't know anything about
[7:22]it except what I saw on television I went and got a
[7:26]whole lot of quotes from people in Colombia and y-you you know
[7:29]real professors and what the thing was really about was that great
[7:35]big pool of oil that was in the south so I'm writing
[7:37]this stuff up I'm thinking I'm gonna do the 21 years old
[7:40]I'm getting a Pulitzer for this because there's never been anything written
[7:44]on it that I could find you know after I submitted it
[7:49]to the post which was a three part white paper I was
[7:55]fired straight up right then and there I was fired and the
[7:59]girl that had helped me expose Hogan was sent to Egypt eventually
[8:06]I went back home and I went back home realizing that what
[8:12]I wanted to do all my life I really didn't want to
[8:14]do anymore I did not want to be a reporter you know
[8:17]anymore I did not want to do that so I'm trying to
[8:22]figure out what I wanted to do and my mother is all
[8:23]upset because my sister had become a Muslim and they're really she's
[8:32]beside herself so they sent me down there to talk some sense
[8:36]into my sister and what happened is that they ended up talking
[8:40]sense into me my brother-in-law I asked him look everything that you're
[8:49]talking about is extraordinary to me especially this whole idea that God
[8:54]is not embodied there's no such thing as an embodied God he
[8:58]said well of course Jesus was a prophet and that there has
[9:03]been prophets that had been sent from the beginning except that people
[9:07]forget about the prophets what they taught and sometimes they deify them
[9:12]and I thought Bing said the masala so I said I asked
[9:16]another question about God and they recited cool who Allahu Ahad Allahu
[9:21]Samad mom you lead well I'm Yolanda Balam Nicola who for one
[9:26]had now even before he translated it I knew that this was
[9:29]the truth raka feel it mashallah al hamdulillah he rabbil alameen mashallah
[9:35]you know say he Allah is one upon whom all depends he
[9:41]begins not neither is he begotten and there is none like unto
[9:45]him and I'm by that time I'm tears all in my eyes
[9:49]and everything and I'm thinking good lord what am I could tell
[9:55]my mother he's gonna be oh what a brave and selfless deed
[9:59]to give up life for Islam's creed to sacrifice both friend and
[10:11]can to show the world Islam from sin are you confused which
[10:18]side is right how would you stand if God to fight are
[10:23]you aware just who was slain hussain hussain hussain hussain the leader
[10:38]of the gardens youth was murdered by a drunk uncouth understand the
[10:49]scene my friend an angel murdered by jin jin who held the
[10:56]Oma's reins a womanizer half insane condemned to death the chaste hussain
[11:05]hussain hussain hussain hussain they make me think about it for a
[11:18]while and I thought about it for about a month and to
[11:21]be perfectly honest I tried to figure out a way out of
[11:28]it because well like I said you know my road was set
[11:32]hum did it love it I mean I was on the fast
[11:33]track and I knew that if I became Muslim my life was
[11:38]going to be very very difficult because I didn't know anything about
[11:42]this religion and the more I the more I delved into it
[11:48]the more I saw that it was vast you know and this
[11:53]was going to take time that there was no course that I
[11:55]could take I'd have to do this all on my own and
[11:59]why couldn't I just you know I'm a good person I don't
[12:00]need to do it but the more I thought about it the
[12:05]more I realized that it was no way there was God talking
[12:10]to me and if I if I turned my back on this
[12:16]I would be forever damned the thing that I saw within my
[12:19]within my soul the motto father that I saw was that I
[12:25]was practically already in hell you know worshipping Jesus and worse than
[12:30]that I'm worshipping money you know I'm gonna do this for money
[12:34]I don't care you know I want to make a lot of
[12:38]money I want to be rich and powerful like have a bit
[12:40]alone and Islam brought back my ethical training to make me realize
[12:49]that I was way way way way stray my conscience made it
[12:52]very very clear that I was of that ilk because the things
[12:56]that I want I was getting ready to go back and even
[13:01]though I know that it would take a kind of hypocrisy I
[13:03]was gonna go back in the journalism get my degree maybe the
[13:08]right copy for some kind of you know people that advertising company
[13:14]or something like that or and then go into politics which I
[13:19]already knew was corrupt but and when I was in high school
[13:22]I was a boy senator two years in a row emotional um
[13:26]oh the beloved so I would like I said I was on
[13:30]a fast track for that but Islam made me realize that I
[13:36]was submitting to something less than submitting to God and what I
[13:41]didn't want to see that I was submitting to the devil I
[13:49]did not want to see that uh Nimrod in Islamic guys or
[13:52]unveils truth mixed with lies in oh my food by sleight of
[14:03]hand one raised his voice one dare to stand in Abraham who
[14:09]chose the flames rejecting falsehoods kingly claims and Abel who opposed Cain
[14:20]Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein I think that the majority of the come
[14:31]into the religion primarily because they don't believe that Jesus is God
[14:37]or they don't longer are agnostics and they see that what Islam
[14:41]there's no contradiction within the Quran that's just straightforward God is the
[14:47]infinite one he is the eternal one there's no mysticism in that
[14:52]that is just straightforward mashallah he doesn't beget he has not begotten
[14:59]he's neither father mother's son daughter whatever mashallah and he has no
[15:04]khufu in other words there's none like him that he could marry
[15:09]anyway I mean who couldn't it it doesn't make sense this does
[15:12]make sense he is unique it's not just one he is unique
[15:18]and that is what makes it obvious what makes it obvious about
[15:20]Prophet Mohammed is that there's never been a man like Prophet Mohammed
[15:25]since mashallah even a relay salaam was not Muhammad SAW Allah Allah
[15:30]was just like Hussein was not Ani Hassan was not a lead
[15:35]they said so as much mashallah so I spent most of my
[15:37]time for ten years studying prophets Sarah I read practically all of
[15:43]them that were in English mashallah and studied them in masala into
[15:48]I could I understood his mission masha'Allah I didn't know about the
[15:53]oddly part because I didn't know about the elevator at the time
[15:55]that came to me later mashallah between Oh 30 and 35 when
[16:04]I met sigh at Mawson habibi mashallah once I met Sai at
[16:11]masa my body alhamdulillah I belong I mean and learned that imam
[16:15]ali la salaam was literally cheated out of what he rightfully his
[16:26]rightful position that's when i started recognizing the I obeyed Allah there
[16:32]was the year that the embassy was taken mashallah so the reporters
[16:39]were all going crazy you know these are Ronnie's took our embassy
[16:44]and they're horrible people in blah blah blah they got all our
[16:49]people holding them as hostage and I'm looking at this for the
[16:51]first time I you know I'm trying to find out what's going
[16:54]on because I didn't care anything about the news but I was
[16:57]interested in this and you know I'm wondering you know what stir
[17:00]what's the problem you take it because nobody was killed mashallah they
[17:06]didn't look like they were doing hardly anything to these people except
[17:09]talking about give us our money back and we'll give you these
[17:11]people because America's was holding several billion dollars of the irani money
[17:18]sounds writing all these pamphlets you know in hand in the mountains
[17:25]on campus until they kicked me off kid they wouldn't let me
[17:27]on campus which I thought was a destroyed daily ridiculous because you
[17:30]know I know these guys were like drug dealers they're on campus
[17:33]hanging out handing out drugs lalalalala you know they're letting drug dealers
[17:42]on campus and he won't let pamphleteers on campus as ridiculous so
[17:47]one day of the leader of the MSA introduced a body to
[17:52]me at one of the Juma's Marshall on how but he came
[17:58]up to me crying literally I mean literally bawling Mottola because of
[18:03]what I was doing your day again I didn't think was a
[18:07]big thing I was just handing out pamphlets for God's sake you
[18:09]know and he was like you know this is what you're doing
[18:14]a great noble service for you know the alphabet and the Islamic
[18:17]Revolution and I'm saying I'm not doing anything because I'm not I'm
[18:22]not taking sides I'm saying that what we should do is that
[18:27]we should research this before we take any sides I don't know
[18:30]what's going on I never heard of these people before mashallah and
[18:37]so he he invited me to his home now I've been hanging
[18:41]out with these people for years and that's the only one that
[18:48]ever invited me to his house mashallah you know I'm this six-foot
[18:54]220 pound african-american soldier that he invites to his house mashallah now
[19:00]I'm thinking who is this guy because he is not like these
[19:06]other people mashallah that come from the east mashallah and we get
[19:10]to talking and arguing and talking and our union so I don't
[19:15]even remember the arguments that we were having but we just were
[19:19]having friendly man demand arguments calm didn't I arrive it out of
[19:24]me and one day I said listen mashallah you are you are
[19:32]you are a hero and I am NOT but what I want
[19:36]to know is what what is this about Imam Ali you know
[19:42]and I don't even think I said Imam at the time what
[19:45]is this my leave me I'll be taller I know that he
[19:50]is the hero in every every aspect of Islam I know this
[19:52]because of my studies I've studied Prophet Mohammed for over 10 years
[19:56]so I know the history of Prophet Mohammed what happened to him
[20:03]how come he disappears from the history after the prophets death all
[20:06]of a sudden I had it been wallet of our people is
[20:11]now the sword of Allah what happened to Ali Mei batalik and
[20:13]that's he didn't want to tell me you know he thought that
[20:19]you know I really you know I really don't want to go
[20:21]into this right now it may hurt your feelings it couldn't ruin
[20:23]our friendship bla bla bla bla what look man I'm not fragile
[20:27]you know all I want to know is the truth uh-hum did
[20:31]it not and that's the only thing that I believe in anyway
[20:37]mashallah so he told me the whole story right then in there
[20:39]and I was like now I know you did it now I
[20:45]know I'll hum did it love because I didn't know about sativa
[20:49]you know I didn't know about what happened to Fatima to Zara
[20:53]in her house mashallah I didn't know about them putting hands on
[20:56]Holly and me body and me I beat all about Islam I
[21:00]didn't know about what how Omar came into power you know I
[21:05]didn't know about how earth man came into power and that's how
[21:07]I came to understand the Sunnis that had adopted me hated me
[21:13]now I mean there was one brother who was Hafez and I
[21:16]used to go over his house and as a Hafez he recites
[21:20]so much Quran on a daily basis masha'Allah and this is what
[21:23]I started doing the same thing mom did it not after I
[21:29]became she he didn't wanna have anything to do with me it
[21:32]was like I had leprosy or something you dig I thought it
[21:34]was ridiculous I was arguing with him I said this is totally
[21:36]absurd you know what is the difference you know I mean it's
[21:42]just the banner of history he said I said well how did
[21:45]you come we were arguing heatedly at his house how did you
[21:47]come to this he said my mother taught me this I said
[21:51]well your mother taught you wrong and he thought it was like
[21:55]wow maybe my mother did teach me wrong and just as I'm
[21:58]starting to make the argument the phone rang and he lost it
[22:04]and I never was able to get it back he wouldn't let
[22:07]me in his house again after that at first we establish we
[22:16]prayed in a little cottage mashallah this is where everybody'd wear the
[22:26]MSA prayed when we started praying there and people started coming there
[22:30]mashallah and Abba deals are leading this was right after remember this
[22:33]is right after the culmination of the revolution so you had maybe
[22:38]10 15 people come in for 5 year 30 40 people coming
[22:44]for Margaret and the odds or annoucer and maybe 60 people come
[22:48]in from argumentation it disturbed the sensitivities of many of them more
[22:52]radical Sunnis so the leader of the MSA wrote his people in
[23:01]Saudi Arabia who in turn sent a Saudi priest with a five
[23:06]hundred five hundred thousand dollar check mashallah five hundred thousand nose days
[23:14]five hundred thousand dollar check so to take a bi big old
[23:19]mansion not a will wasn't a big mansion it was like a
[23:22]modern mini mansion well Shana I'm a very well big beautiful place
[23:26]is still there on a real place I love and they locked
[23:31]us out straight up in the meantime the university they didn't lock
[23:36]us out of the cottage but what they did is that they
[23:41]allowed the Chinese to come in there and dance on the place
[23:44]where we were praying that didn't stop us either so you know
[23:50]what they did they tore the whole thing down literally tore dead
[23:54]literally demolished it we got a gun with no firing pin mashallah
[24:02]we have everything that we need the she is a valium knee
[24:07]I be taller mashallah we have we have an Islamic Revolution that
[24:09]is being protected obviously by Allah emotional love we have some of
[24:15]the greatest scholars in the world not just jurist but philosophers on
[24:20]the planet some of the greatest poets in the world mashallah arm
[24:26]that it lie Arabiya light I mean we have so much money
[24:33]that is ridiculous la la la la la la sharika lah we
[24:36]got the gun but we got the firing pin so all that
[24:43]sucker does is cut no boom why it's because we're not bound
[24:48]together in worship like we're supposed to be I believe that if
[24:54]we were bound together in worship like we were supposed to be
[24:58]I believe this light would just rise on the horizon and that
[25:02]the people of the Western world would be able to see clearly
[25:06]then it would be up to them whether they're going to turn
[25:08]towards the truth or not mashallah but as long as we're not
[25:16]presenting our most sellable our most sellable fact facts faction factor you
[25:22]know the salah in Jamaat is the most sellable factor for anybody
[25:27]that believes it's got to be because the believers are what the
[25:31]believers are lovers only to one another mashallah how am I going
[25:36]to love you and I don't want to see you every day
[25:41]for fodder and Maghreb Anisha at least fodder margarita we could come
[25:47]together and in the Western world you're free to do this and
[25:50]nobody's stopping you from moving come together you're always talking about unity
[25:55]unity disunity that and unity other unity of the Spirit unity of
[26:01]the soul unity of your prayer you know like the angels bowing
[26:04]and prostrating when Allah said to bow you all are doing this
[26:07]every morning rising from the little death called sleep a lot coming
[26:14]together you know half-sleeve I about it so of all they come
[26:17]around you know loving each other you know really getting a chance
[26:22]to love one another mashallah that's what I believed in allah subhanho
[26:27]wa taala has put me on this planet for this is the
[26:31]big problem mashallah so for me this is what I've tried to
[26:36]do in the last 35 years since I've left Hawaii mashallah to
[26:43]try to promote this this concept while I'm doing my writings I
[26:46]mean all of my writings are saying the same thing mashallah and
[26:49]they all go back to the fact that what we're supposed to
[26:54]be trying to do mashallah has come together to worship Allah and
[27:00]then rise masha'Allah alhamdulillah Ramadan I mean that's what I believe it's
[27:06]the missing piece it really is I do want to tell you
[27:08]one story one of my nephew's and I may be getting this
[27:12]story wrong maybe I should ask him for a day but I'll
[27:14]just tell you because I remember it this way so it's always
[27:17]my story he was he store where the the CUFI and the
[27:23]Joba and he Joe Bob oh no Bob and he would go
[27:26]to the store and they said this Jew approached him had the
[27:29]yarmulke on and he told him mom you know what we're never
[27:33]gonna be a free you guys until you pray Fajr like you
[27:36]pray Juma and he told us that and I'm said that's they
[27:42]even know the spiritual currency of praying and jamol especially fodder and
[27:46]if you can my granny sure and why can't you you know
[27:48]everybody can eat they can have a potluck whatever share resources get
[27:53]to know each other the kids see each other it's the missing
[27:57]piece it's the part that I think would help the Muslims get
[28:01]out of the quagmire they find themselves in now praying in your
[28:05]home sure if you pray in your home with your family that's
[28:08]beautiful and that's good but that's not the Jamaa the Jamaat is
[28:11]families coming together you know and it doesn't always have to be
[28:15]the mush because we're in America we don't have the my shoes
[28:17]on every corner like we do in other countries and I hear
[28:20]they're they keep them locked up they're not necessarily open for prayer
[28:23]which is crazy here's you kind of stand it you know but
[28:28]I know there's some communities have try with their masters are open
[28:31]but very few people come to this I don't think is emphasized
[28:34]and the coot Baz it's not you know it's just the ones
[28:38]who know know when they come so that is that is to
[28:41]me the missing piece it really is I think if people started
[28:43]to do that it would be a force that of spiritual currency
[28:48]the blessings I think there's a hadith about it you know how
[28:50]many if there's two people there's three people there's four people if
[28:52]you get ten people you couldn't even count how many blessings there
[28:54]were and we and we were doing we had a lot you
[28:57]know our business was going well everything was just clicking on all
[29:01]cylinders you know by shake town stays busy it's a struggle it
[29:06]really is you know and if you end up with just a
[29:09]few for a while inshallah it's just for a while and then
[29:11]some other people come or though people who couldn't or can't or
[29:13]don't want to come back because they realize wait a minute you
[29:18]know I'm I'm getting picked off here this something's missing here it's
[29:21]not I need my children to see this not just with us
[29:26]they need to see it with others and I need you know
[29:27]my wife would like you know maybe they can all help cook
[29:31]or whatever so it is that it is the missing piece I
[29:36]mean it really is a loss Sunnah they wouldn't let Hussein's men
[29:40]drink and now they will not let you think they bar them
[29:45]from a river clear they bar you from a knowledge dear they
[29:54]fence your mind with bigotry and tie your hands with apathy why
[30:05]should a Muslim not feel pain Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein I've seen
[30:17]a lot of modulus but nothing there's two people that do modulus
[30:22]that I've never seen like their likes before and that's cyan't more
[30:26]to that cause weenie inside muscle my body those people take you
[30:31]to Karbala the first time it almost drove me insane literally mashallah
[30:35]like I told you did my admiration for a prophet muhammad sallallahu
[30:40]alayhe wa Adi was that of the Great Spirit you know mashallah
[30:46]I didn't believe that you said assalamu alayka ayyuha n-nabi you or
[30:50]amount o allah he what but I got to in salat for
[30:54]nothing mashallah I believed that his spirit is vast but on the
[31:00]reliability mean to to see to see his progeny slaughter like that
[31:09]you know that broke my heart it changed me forever it changed
[31:17]me forever and unlike a whole lot of people I did not
[31:25]I was I was I was sad for about a year Marshall
[31:31]um but and then I became angry and then after I became
[31:33]angry I became determined because I had to recognize this that happened
[31:39]then and although I regret that I was not there for you
[31:44]yes that you mashallah come on yes IUD mashallah I could not
[31:50]be maybe I was maybe my spirit was there for you but
[31:54]now that Allah has placed me here what am I supposed to
[32:02]do jaws it became the Muslims Edie why wasn't the head Hussein
[32:08]instead did not Hamid teach a love will then why are Muslims
[32:20]confuse still who's Abraham in who's Nimrod holes with Satan who's with
[32:27]God is not truth both clear and plain Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein
[32:40]I know at least six people who were Sunni listened to the
[32:46]murder of imam hussain and who since become followers are obeyed because
[32:51]they knew about they knew about Karbala they meant you know they
[32:55]were upset about it or they didn't appreciate it but they didn't
[32:59]know who he was really they didn't know what it what how
[33:02]important that was the people who stayed the sacrifices they had know
[33:06]the sacrifices but they didn't know how deep the sacrifices went how
[33:13]without who's saying that Islam proper would have been totally destroyed you
[33:16]know we still have a lot of craziness but there's still the
[33:19]truth here that it would there would be none you know we'd
[33:23]have all just totaled I don't know we'd have Islam ish kind
[33:28]of thing zeyneb you know it for a lot of women you
[33:32]know the modern woman the feminists they like they love zinnia oh
[33:36]my god are you serious is a Muslim gonna see yes it
[33:37]was you know it was just it the way he does it
[33:43]I know a lot of even the ones who know about it
[33:45]and when it first came out I think it was in Dearborn
[33:49]a lot of the young brothers young teenagers and young they loved
[33:52]it they would just recite it you know parents saying they're singing
[33:56]why we cry and just to pray it over and over and
[33:59]over again so it's really had an impact in a lot of
[34:02]people who hear it it's not a motto that's the whole thing
[34:03]everybody thinks it's a motto it's not a motto it's a book
[34:09]mashallah it's just it's an it's a narrative it's not like a
[34:13]song at all mashallah if you if you read it you'll see
[34:19]it's not a song mashallah it tells the story only the story
[34:28]is all in rhyme you mean which ones that I like the
[34:34]best oh I love the whole thing I think the one that
[34:40]I liked the best was the story of the story of Ali
[34:50]Akbar the story of Abbas in the explanation after the story of
[34:56]Abbas mashallah those are the ones died it was all I was
[35:01]almost like I was feeling the presence of those people I was
[35:04]crying all the way through it Oh mashallah it was really something
[35:10]I remember it to this day that was deep one that pops
[35:15]my mind because I'm a birth worker I'm a doula and do
[35:18]some midwifery work was of course Ali Asghar you know the baby
[35:23]and I remember reading the book in the room and I'm just
[35:25]like tears just falling down what actually with a baby you know
[35:28]six months old even lays the baby down on the ground this
[35:31]knife you think is for me you take the baby give him
[35:35]water and bring him back to me it's not me I don't
[35:36]want any of it and they shot him in the neck with
[35:40]an arrow you know that I mean that was the one and
[35:46]then everything else just his the fact of his sons and they're
[35:48]willing to die the the the the nephew and willing to die
[35:52]the and then afterwards of cours aina with the women had to
[35:56]go through in this Akina and then her being so strong to
[35:58]stand up against the house Eid and you know shut him up
[36:03]you know I think his wife also the fact that she just
[36:09]like with farallon's wife hacía so all if the whole thing was
[36:12]just overwhelming and I mean we just and of course tears and
[36:16]tributes was just you know it just pulls on your heartstrings just
[36:19]the way he writes and stuff even though the English is a
[36:21]little iffy it doesn't matter you just were taking there in fact
[36:26]when I got here to California and we didn't have any moisture
[36:29]that we were we were mostly with the wharf Dean Masjid they
[36:33]let us use it for the Muharram and that was my first
[36:35]Muharram and they had some Afghani brothers doing the modulus in Farsi
[36:41]but this guy's voice just the way he I don't know the
[36:43]tenor of his voice I could feel it and I remember we
[36:47]had it the first time and I didn't really feel it you
[36:49]know I know he's supposed to you know still cover and pretend
[36:53]so I begged Allah you know I please I want to really
[36:55]feel this amount I want to cry for real I want to
[36:57]feel I want to be there so the next one the next
[37:01]year when we had Imam mastered an imam ali that was bought
[37:04]it was a church and renovated they had it and I brought
[37:08]that book tears a tribute and so they're singing it Arabic you
[37:11]know there and everybody's and they're in Arabic and I'm reading in
[37:13]English but in Allah made it so that what he was talking
[37:17]about like I hear the names Abbas you know I was on
[37:21]the same page with this tears and tributes you know so it
[37:24]was just following the narrative and I'm reading in English and oh
[37:27]my god I was I think I delivered more than anybody else
[37:31]in there it was created I couldn't stop it was all day
[37:34]it was just weepy so even you know it just I just
[37:38]couldn't stop so ever since then it's easy you know to just
[37:41]concentrate and get into it everyone explain to someone doesn't understand I
[37:44]just find myself getting choked up so hamdulillah you know I could
[37:49]say that I actually actually can go there when I want to
[37:51]but he a lot took me there I remember just you know
[37:54]they take there by the Iraqis they take their bio they put
[37:56]over so I'm you're in the dark now and then I'm but
[38:00]I have a little you know flashlight thing so I'm reading and
[38:03]I just seemed like I was there I mean I could just
[38:07]picture the scene and of course the women in the back where
[38:11]I'm starting to wail as I get to the part which when
[38:12]I forgot that fools name who's the one that caught off his
[38:19]head shimmer I wish something that part when we started whaling you
[38:23]know going up and so I lost it it was it was
[38:27]done because it was exactly as he was saying it and it
[38:28]hasn't happened since i still bring my book and read it and
[38:32]it's awful now but I'm also beginning to hear it now that
[38:33]it's been you know 20 years I can kind of keep with
[38:39]it but that first experience was absolutely profound absolutely I couldn't I
[38:44]would love to I would love to be there an out for
[38:45]the to go a rock during that time were to make of
[38:51]the aura that's my next plan of Shalala why do we let
[38:58]vow demons lead and close our eyes when martyrs bleed oh what
[39:04]a sad sad thought to bear the Muslims think that foul is
[39:13]fair how sad to let the sate Andrew and let themselves be
[39:19]Satan's to the prophets grandson die in vain Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein
[39:29]our biggest problem is that we always see is the end of
[39:35]the story mashallah how about the beginning in the middle of the
[39:38]story what happened every single day in these people's lives mashallah the
[39:43]answer of course is obvious isn't it they prayed o Allah they
[39:52]swam around in this Quran o Allah they could see the divine
[39:56]guidance they were in tune to the spirit of prophet muhammad sallallahu
[40:02]alayhi wa sallam fatimata Zahra Layher salam imam ali an islam they
[40:13]live that every single day i'm looking forward to meeting them so
[40:20]when you stop to think of somebody like hazrat abbas ali ali
[40:26]salam in ali akbar allah Salaam because he wasn't at his full
[40:33]potential yet if he had a lived he probably would have been
[40:36]greater than the box mashallah i'm tumblr as a fighter mashallah as
[40:42]it was he put a hurt on them that is unprecedented mashallah
[40:53]so you know that kind of loyalty an insight while I was
[40:57]writing it you know I made a huge impression upon me mashallah
[41:03]you know I mean it's the thing of it is is that
[41:05]what freaks me out is that I'm stuck in this situation without
[41:14]a chance but you know we all are the mystic vision pierces
[41:22]time so view this vile oppressive crime usurpers don't bow willingly observe
[41:35]hussein observe ollie look at these modern years it's now they cling
[41:42]to powers golden cow Satan rules with cruel disdain Hussein Hussein Hussein
[41:51]Hussein a la semaine the one that I promised you know to
[42:01]seek help how does it say it you remember well how allows
[42:04]us to seek help to seek help in Salah and Saba but
[42:11]it is hard except for home except for those who are humble
[42:15]what does that mean I believe by humble humble but it means
[42:21]is that you intrinsically in intuitively and intellectually simultaneously know that you
[42:27]need Allah and he does not need you what you do is
[42:34]because it's masha'Allah period I didn't sit down somewhere Allah Allah who
[42:44]walked through last week because allah subhanho wa taala could have just
[42:48]just like that no thought whatsoever you don't have to be able
[42:54]to think period martyr them seriously and I've seen people like this
[42:59]I mean they they can't understand the prayer our Holy Father Ibrahim
[43:04]in the Salah T when the sukyohama Mayawati lillahi rabbil aalameen mashallah
[43:10]that don't even understand the xalapa let alone than the tsuki part
[43:14]surely my prayer and my sacrifice you know what do you have
[43:20]to sacrifice well sure you have to sacrifice your materialism mashallah you
[43:25]have to you have to sacrifice that you have to sacrifice your
[43:29]militarism you have to sacrifice your egotism you have to sacrifice your
[43:35]ethnocentrism all that has to go why because it simply says that
[43:39]you are supposed to submit to the God mashallah then you can
[43:46]do unto others as others as you would have others do unto
[43:49]you where did Jesus say are the the two great Commandments this
[43:52]is part of Christianity the two great Commandments thou shalt love the
[43:57]Lord thy God with our whole heart and their whole mind and
[43:59]I also and the second is like under the first thou shalt
[44:03]love thy neighbor as thyself how are you gonna do that without
[44:07]submitting to God really because my my my interests will get in
[44:15]the way of my religiosity you see what I'm saying these years
[44:22]it's kill for crown and purse at least Muslims could spit in
[44:28]and curse but many think the cost too high so they obey
[44:36]the one who lies they would not allow Hussein a drink and
[44:41]now they won't let Muslims think and those who think they call
[44:46]insane Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein the world's a Karbala a desert dry
[45:02]in carranza river flowing by in Ishta HUD's a water skin that's
[45:08]cool and filled four thirsty men where is abbas with what we
[45:13]need his canteen was pierced by shafts of greed our thirst is
[45:22]not from lack of rain Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein though martyrdom gave
[45:31]our boss wings thirst remains and griefs still stings but tears alone
[45:39]won't slake our thirst tears by themselves can make things worse who
[45:46]will stand who will cry to speak the truth to stand to
[45:56]die to cause a tyrants moon to wane Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein
[46:06]Hussein hussain hussain hussain hussain hussain hussain hussain hussain hussain
