[1:23]the son and the grandson of rasulullah and the daughters of rasulallah

[1:31]allah azzawajal says in the holy quran so ayah 23 allah says

[1:55]of the believers are men who are true to the covenant which

[1:59]they made with allah so of them is he who accomplished his

[2:03]vow and of them is he who waits and they have not

[2:08]changed in the least sadaqa in the establishment of the divine government

[2:20]of imam zaman alaihis which has been our topic this muharram and

[2:24]we have discussed the characteristics of this government and we have discussed

[2:30]its objectives we have discussed its plans and we delved into the

[2:36]tools used by the imam alaihis-salam in establishing this universal government of

[2:44]divine justice and of the main tools that the imam are salaam

[2:50]will use and an essential tool and it is the tool which

[2:56]applies to us the most as believers in the imam and in

[2:58]the advent of the imam and as those who are awaiting the

[3:04]imam as we have been discussing as we have shown has a

[3:09]pretty extensive project he has a very very extensive project and a

[3:17]very extensive mission and this mission as we discussed is to encompass

[3:25]all of existence and not just the heavens and the earth and

[3:32]it is the establishment of the final divine government the government which

[3:36]is to rule the earth how allah azzawajal intended is the imam

[3:44]salam allah expected to perform all of this by himself is the

[3:51]imam alaihis have supporters and soldiers and people that will gather around

[4:07]him before his advent as the hadith by imam assad where he

[4:13]says blessed are those or glad tidings to those who follow the

[4:19]imam before his coming meaning they are supporters of imam al-mahdi alayhi

[4:27]salam before the advent of imam how are they supporters of him

[4:31]before his advent meaning they are the ones who understand the mission

[4:37]of the imam salaam allah and they are the ones who prepare

[4:42]the earth for the coming of the imam logic tells us that

[4:51]this imam like the imams before him will have shia will have

[4:56]followers will have ansar he will have supporters and through these supporters

[5:02]that imam alaihis salaam establishes his government and carries out the justice

[5:08]he has been entrusted with and it is tonight for many of

[5:15]us tonight is the night of ashura and it is the night

[5:20]of the sahab it is the night of the companions of imam

[5:26]al-hussein and we dedicate this night which is the night in which

[5:34]the companions of al-hussein alaihi salam were preparing themselves for the martyrdom

[5:38]between the hands of al-hussein in honor of them we dedicate this

[5:45]night to discussing the characteristics of the companions of imam and the

[5:53]companions are of two kinds there are the generals the ashab of

[6:02]the imam the hawas and these we can split into many groups

[6:11]these aren't who we'll be discussing tonight inshallah in coming nights we'll

[6:14]discuss this particular the supporters that we want to discuss are the

[6:23]general population those who are welcomed into the government of imam the

[6:32]characteristics of the soldiers of the imam salaam allah the foot soldiers

[6:37]of imam al-mahdi we find in the narrations of several characteristics and

[6:48]in the holy quran we find several characteristics inshallah and each one

[6:53]of these characteristics we can speak for several lectures on but for

[6:58]time's sake inshallah we'll be touching very briefly tonight on a few

[7:01]of these characteristics so that we may you and i insha allah

[7:06]endeavor and struggle to be amongst those who are with the imam

[7:16]alaihissalam before his advent the first characteristic that we find in the

[7:24]narrations of salam is that these followers of imam and mahdi allah

[7:35]they have a strong belief system they have a firm belief system

[7:42]they have certainty in their religious convictions they do not sway they

[7:51]do not fear being questioned they do not fear innovation nothing can

[7:59]turn them away from this path and from these convictions in a

[8:04]narration attributed to imam assad he says he says they are men

[8:25]or women and their hearts are like steel or iron they are

[8:36]not wavered by any misconceptions regarding allah they are certain about the

[8:43]existence of allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala and this certainty is deeply embedded in

[8:48]their hearts says regarding to the truest to the truest form of

[9:13]and they are the followers of imam al-mahdi alayhi this conviction brothers

[9:19]and sisters this is required from all of us it is not

[9:28]enough and it is not sufficient for me to come and claim

[9:33]that i am a believer in the oneness of allah if i

[9:39]am incapable of proving it first to myself and secondly defending this

[9:47]aki that is faith if anyone wants to throw any questions at

[9:53]me or any misconception at me i'm not waved i do not

[10:02]sway my foundations are not shook it is required from us to

[10:08]come to allah azzawajal through knowledge when we read in the holy

[10:15]quran that allah rejects from those or rejects those who have taken

[10:23]their religion as an inheritance they have inherited this religion of their

[10:30]fathers and forefathers and of society this may very well apply to

[10:34]us if our religion is not solid if our religion is not

[10:42]embedded in our intellect and in our hearts then any misconception thrown

[10:53]at us or any devil with a sweet tongue may come and

[10:58]sway us from this path and convince us wrongfully convince us in

[11:05]an ideology or a theology or a philosophy which is unislamic the

[11:16]soldiers of imam zaman alaihi salam are not like this very clear

[11:22]he says their hearts are firm meaning they have reached conviction meaning

[11:26]they have searched they have studied and through their struggle towards allah

[11:33]azzawajal allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has implanted or shunned in their hearts

[11:38]the light of certainty and planted their feet firm in the ground

[11:41]nothing will convince them otherwise this is the first description the second

[11:54]one is that they are awaiting the one who wishes to be

[12:13]amongst the companions of imam al-m then let him be amongst those

[12:18]who await him and the meaning here of awaiting is not to

[12:25]simply wait not to simply sit around and wait for the imam

[12:29]as we'll see in the coming narrations in a narration by rasulallah

[12:38]he says to us the best days of my ummah the best

[12:42]deed the best deed for my ummah is to await salvation or

[12:57]await the relief i.e awaiting imam islam that we know we know

[13:01]in islam we have several deeds we have salaat we have psalm

[13:05]we have hajj we have jihad we have zakat we have sadaqah

[13:10]we have zarat above all of this rasulallah what's he say better

[13:18]than all of these things is awaiting relief awaiting imam al-mahdi from

[13:26]this narration we understand that the imam or that is not referring

[13:34]to simple waiting simply just sitting around and waiting in this there

[13:40]is no merit in just sitting around and waiting the prophet is

[13:46]talking about actively waiting i.e preparing in every aspect of their lives

[13:56]they are preparing for the advent of the imam and the coming

[13:59]of the imam and the establishment of this divine government and they

[14:04]are eagerly praying for it and they are expecting it any day

[14:10]these are those who are awaiting they can smell it the enemies

[14:27]view it the coming of the imam as far away and we

[14:34]view it as if it is near at any moment the one

[14:41]who is anxiously waiting it is like one waiting for a loved

[14:45]one sisters you can relate more to this example when our brother

[14:52]is coming to ask for your hand the night he is coming

[14:58]him and his family to meet your family all day you are

[15:03]eagerly waiting you have gone you've gotten dressed you've fixed yourself up

[15:07]you've made sure the house is clean you've given your parents orders

[15:12]and command father don't say this to him mom don't treat him

[15:14]like this don't embarrass me don't do this you've made sure your

[15:17]siblings are in order you've created a ruckus in the house for

[15:20]the last few days because your loved one is coming on a

[15:29]greater scale on a more grandeur scale those waiting for the imam

[15:35]alayhi salam are actively waiting like this they are preparing themselves they

[15:39]are preparing their homes they are preparing society they are preparing the

[15:44]world for the advent of the imam ali this is the waiting

[15:50]that rasulullah ali speaks of they are waiting in such a manner

[16:16]that this shabbat the youth of the shia says that as if

[16:17]i see them on their roofs of their homes they are asleep

[16:23]but awaiting the imam at any second now and at the advent

[16:30]of the imam because they are actively waiting for him even though

[16:33]they are asleep on the roofs of their homes in a split

[16:38]second they will find themselves awoken where in mecca at the advent

[16:45]of the imam alayhi salaam answering his call at the kaab allah

[16:50]that imagine your heart is so thirsty for the imam salaam allah

[17:01]and the government of the imam alayhi craving his presence more than

[17:08]a thirsty child craves water craving his presence to the point where

[17:18]this love and this craving for the imam alaihissalam drives you no

[17:24]matter where you are in the world no matter where you sleep

[17:28]the night of the advent of the imam alaihissalam this love will

[17:32]carry you to makkah so that you are between the hands of

[17:37]imam sahib and the imam knows those who love him and he

[17:48]knows those who have prepared themselves and have prepared their homes and

[17:54]their families and their friends and have prepared the world for his

[18:00]advent in another narration he says he says that our government our

[18:40]government such as the the one who was awaiting our cause ah

[18:56]this is the cause of halibun the cause of salam this is

[19:05]his cause he views the government of hassan as his cause imam

[19:14]assad when he speaks about the advent of the imam alaihissalam what's

[19:18]he say he says oh how i wish i could be between

[19:23]them wishes to be amongst you those who are in us you

[19:43]and i imam assad craves our presence envies our role the imam

[19:56]himself says and were i to be present at the advent of

[20:03]al-mahdi i would be his servant would love to be in your

[20:22]position in the position of those who have been blessed in the

[20:26]position of those who have been mentioned by rasulallah to be his

[20:33]what his loved ones in the famous narration sunnatang have narrated this

[20:39]hadith where the holy messenger is sitting with his companions and he

[20:44]says where are my loved ones and his companions say to me

[20:51]are we not your loved ones he says no by allah you

[20:57]are my companions you are my companions you followed me because you

[21:02]saw me you followed me because you saw me my loved ones

[21:10]are those who come at the end of time at the end

[21:14]of time who believed in me without even seeing me how strong

[21:25]is our belief we believe in a god we have not seen

[21:30]we believe in a prophet we have not met we are anxiously

[21:37]awaiting and preparing the earth for an imam in occultation has been

[21:42]veiled from our eyes is this not the embodiment of those who

[21:55]believe in the unseen we must be mad men when the rest

[22:01]of the world look at us they must think we are absolutely

[22:08]insane to have this belief in this imam and work for this

[22:10]imam and we have not seen him he has been veiled from

[22:18]our eyes yet we treat him as if he is forever present

[22:26]physically when we enter these majalis of abba abdullah our condolences are

[22:31]sent to imam al-mahdi as if it is sitting amongst those who

[22:35]are mourning this is in terraria this is truly awaiting the imam

[22:44]ali carrying on the companions of the imam alaihi salam are strong

[23:10]and he does not come out except with those who are strong

[23:17]strength is a condition of the soldiers of the imam alayhis in

[23:24]another narration [Music] their hearts are like pillars of iron rods of

[23:50]iron if they were to pass by mountains of iron these mountains

[23:57]would crumble by them and they will not rest nor will they

[24:03]sheath their swords nor will they see thee they will not return

[24:08]their swords back to their covers until allah is pleased with them

[24:15]look what the quran says about these people this strength that they

[24:22]have this bravery that is required 173 look at this description [Music]

[24:43]those to whom the people said surely men have gathered against you

[24:48]therefore fear them what is their response but it increases their faith

[25:04]and they said allah is sufficient for us and most excellent is

[25:09]the protector strength brothers and sisters is commanded by allah azzawajal we

[25:19]said a few nights ago when we're discussing and joining good and

[25:22]forbidding evil the narration by rasulallah despises the weak believer brothers sisters

[25:45]in the government of imam zaman alayhi in the advent and before

[25:53]the advent there is no room for weakness in islam is no

[25:58]room for cowardice there is no room for soft hearts there is

[26:05]no room for hesitation strength is demanded on every single level it

[26:13]is only through strength and strength in every aspect of life we

[26:21]need physical strength we need economic strength we need mental strength we

[26:30]need ideological strength we need military strength we need technological strength cultural

[26:40]strength we must be the strongest on every level if we are

[26:45]to establish the universal kingdom of allah weakness has no place one

[26:52]weak soldier in your ranks one weak soldier and you speak to

[26:57]anybody with any military experience one weak soldier in your foxhole in

[27:08]your unit that hesitates can jeopardize the entire mission and the lives

[27:12]of everyone around him one week soldier islam demands that we are

[27:24]strong allah azzawajal commands you in the holy quran and prepare for

[27:34]them for the disbelievers for the tyrants for the enemy prepare for

[27:40]them what you are capable of mustering from strength muster whatever strength

[27:46]you can why allah azzawajal why does he say so that you

[27:55]may strike fear in the hearts of the oppressors and your enemy

[28:05]islam can never be presented as weak and it is here that

[28:10]my brothers and sisters must forgive me because i want to address

[28:15]some of the quran unfortunately a lot of the times a lot

[28:27]of the times due to poetry and cultural influence and lack of

[28:38]understanding of al-hussein alaihissalam in the holy quran through these lesan lisan

[28:44]al-hal yeah that we use in the majalis when we say it

[28:50]is as if i see and we narrate something that didn't happen

[28:53]but we are just narrating or reciting poetry sometimes we say things

[29:00]without paying attention that present al-hussein alaihis-salam and the companions of al-hussein

[29:06]alaihis-salam as weak without going into the examples because this will open

[29:19]a massive debate but just a general rule any scenario or any

[29:29]poetry or any lamentation or any italian which pictures as a weak

[29:38]individual not just saying allah and unfortunately most of the time who

[29:45]is painted with this brush was a weak sickly man this is

[29:58]not what our hadith say this is not what the quran demands

[30:03]and the imam alaihissalam is the embodiment of the holy quran imam

[30:08]saying yes he was sick but even in his sickness the imam

[30:12]took his sword and struggled in our narration say several times to

[30:18]get onto the battlefield but the wisdom of allah dictated that the

[30:22]imam be saved how is it that we paint al-hussein alaihis-salam in

[30:35]one scene in one scene we paint him as the one standing

[30:43]firm in the face of the army chanting to them in that

[30:50]day of nadai on one end the imam is standing firm refusing

[31:02]humiliation and in another scene we paint him as one in all

[31:07]humiliation asking the enemy for water this is not what he's saying

[31:12]this is not about allah had come out into the battlefield with

[31:42]bare chests like abyss he is a servant of al-hussein he comes

[31:54]craving martyrdom and saying allah is going to beg for his life

[32:02]brothers and sisters is a symbol of strength karbala is the strength

[32:11]of this madhhab yes it is a time of mourning in the

[32:17]time of music and tragedy however the stance of al-hussein alaihissalam is

[32:22]a stance of strength very easily could have given in to yazid

[32:34]very easily very easily kuraval hussain ali hassanam city as you do

[32:41]as you wish i am returning to makkah or i am returning

[32:44]to madina or very easily he would have given his bay'a medina

[32:52]very easily could the companions of al hussain alaihissalam after these companions

[32:59]were given safety by al-hussein and a guarantee that they will not

[33:08]be asked by allah on a night like tonight on a night

[33:11]like tonight and hussain ali his salaam gathers his companions and gives

[33:18]them an oath he says to them this is the night let

[33:23]it be your protector leave leave and you will not be asked

[33:34]and i will not ask and allah will not ask why you

[33:36]abandon your imam i have freed you from this obligation the people

[33:42]only want me the bravery and the strength of these companions and

[33:49]the reply is what if we were to be killed and then

[33:58]our bodies cut into pieces and then burn and then our ashes

[34:04]scattered in the wind and then we were to be resurrected and

[34:07]then slaughtered and then cut into pieces and then burned and then

[34:13]our ashes scattered into the wind and if this were to happen

[34:17]a thousand times this is the strength this is the picture we

[34:29]should be presenting to our youth these majalis of abba abdullah need

[34:36]to be schools of indoctrination need to be schools of strength of

[34:40]strengthening this ummah strengthening these shia through al hussain alaihissalam as our

[34:48]brothers and sisters and the rest of the world have been doing

[34:52]returning the glory of this ummah in the name of hussain alaihi

[34:56]salam do you know what happened in the name of hussain alaihissalam

[35:02]today in the name of al-hussein if you think brothers and sisters

[35:09]that salaam allah says was slaughtered on the banks of the euphrates

[35:15]and his women and children were taken as hostages and prisoners and

[35:22]paraded around the islamic umma simply so that you and i can

[35:25]sit here and cry you have done a massive injustice that hussein

[35:29]you have done a massive injustice to say this is his abbas

[35:40]gives cause him gives his own holy blood so that this ummah

[35:46]may preserve its dignity and only through the blood of abba abdullah

[35:52]did this ummah preserve its dignity and we are seeing this dignity

[35:59]today those who are children and students of our only those who

[36:07]are students of the school of karbala are preserving the dignity of

[36:11]this ummah today no one else after years of sanctions in lebanon

[36:20]today and after the humiliation of the believers there and the degradation

[36:28]of the believers and the deliberate starvation and economic embargo by the

[36:34]enemies of humanity those carrying the banner of al-hussein alaihis-salam today stood

[36:43]up look at the strength and there is here the glory of

[36:49]islam and said no more no more and it was deliberate that

[36:58]on the day of ashwara with the name of al-hussein alaihis that

[37:04]these fewer tankers have departed the islamic republic and have come to

[37:10]the aid to break the embargo on the believers of lebanon who

[37:23]else in the world today is capable of standing in the face

[37:28]of global arrogance and global oppression and global aggression and saying we

[37:36]refuse humiliation this is there is the glory of islam that can

[37:43]only be brought by strength never are we allowed to be weak

[37:51]never will we allow for the believers to be humiliated again we

[38:02]have taken we have taken the lessons from al-hussein alaihissalam and implemented

[38:08]it in the world today when terrorism threatened our brothers and sisters

[38:17]in syria our slogan was land twist we will not allow for

[38:28]zainab to be taken captive again when they threatened to enter najaf

[38:37]and karbala allah azzawajal protect and prolong the life of sayyid sistani

[38:42]and the rest of our ignited the husseini flame in the hearts

[38:51]of these young men and they came in their hundreds of thousands

[38:54]with their aquan which is this last character the second last characteristic

[39:09]amongst the last characteristics we will discuss inshallah or the one before

[39:15]the last is that they are united and organized in a narration

[39:24]by amir al-mu'min he says he says their word is united their

[39:58]word and their hearts are united are united on one cause and

[40:04]they do not smile for anyone nor do they frown for anyone

[40:10]meaning nothing no words affect them nothing no side will affect them

[40:16]they are firm and united and they move like a cloud when

[40:23]you see them moving you see them moving like a cloud none

[40:31]are like them from the beginning nor will there come anyone like

[40:38]them in the end we're paraphrasing you unity brothers and sisters an

[40:44]organization the imams tell us about the companions of imam almighty that

[40:51]they are organized in their affairs they are united and they are

[41:00]organized organization has been a slogan of salaam from the advent of

[41:05]rasulullah organize your affairs organization is essential in the success of any

[41:25]project so if we are talking about the most divine project the

[41:31]final project of the prophets of this requires organization we must be

[41:42]organized our communities must be organized locally our masajid our hussainiyat must

[41:49]be united and organized we are in the age of occultation we

[41:57]have no room for silly squabbles and disagreements we have no room

[42:05]we have no excuse not to be united because everyone wants to

[42:14]fly his own flag because everyone wants to be a leader too

[42:21]many chiefs not enough indians as they say over the slightest and

[42:31]the smallest thing we disagree why would it benefit the imam if

[42:37]we approached our communities with this mentality the mentality that we are

[42:41]here in preparation of imam and mahdi that every community no matter

[42:47]where you are in the world brothers sisters we've been saying for

[42:52]the past 10 nights has a universal message a global message a

[42:58]message an establishment a government which encompasses the entire cosmos do not

[43:04]think that just because you live in australia or in the uk

[43:08]or in canada or in the us you have no role need

[43:15]supporters in australia in sydney australia in melbourne in canada in london

[43:19]in the us in uganda no matter where you are in the

[43:23]world approach your community's issues with this mentality that all that we

[43:32]have all that we do is for sahaba and that this disunity

[43:41]that we have only damages the mission of imam this disunity that

[43:53]we have only delays the advent of the imam salam this disunity

[43:58]that we have only breaks the heart and upsets the imam you

[44:03]think does anyone take the imam into consideration when we have these

[44:09]silly squabbles over anything we squabble soon we are going to have

[44:16]hussainiyat for anti-vaxxers and husainiyat for provaxes very soon this is going

[44:22]to be the case sheikh vaksa anti-vaxxer no longer they follow this

[44:31]manager we follow this much one of the greatest vices that we

[44:38]have as shia communities in the world and i've heard this on

[44:42]the tongues of many of our we pray that one day we

[44:48]pray that we eradicate the concept of the idea of cultural centers

[44:55]and mosques and hussein yet this is a massive vice and may

[45:05]allah take vengeance and seek vengeance in whoever started this surname of

[45:10]this is a lebanese masjid and that is an iraqi husseini and

[45:14]this is an afghani center and this is an iranian imam baraka

[45:19]and what are you talking about and this masjid will not accept

[45:27]an alim unless he is from this country and this hussaini will

[45:31]not accept takari unless he's from this racial background how does this

[45:41]fly with our concept of unity if we cannot unite under the

[45:54]banner of sahaba zaman alayhi salam today before his advent do not

[46:01]expect to unite at the banner or when the banner of imam

[46:08]is salaam comes and this applies to all the characteristics if you

[46:16]are not organized before the advent of the imam do not think

[46:21]that miraculously you will become organized at the advent of the imam

[46:26]if you are not an akka eddie you don't have firm belief

[46:32]systems do not expect for your akita to suddenly become firm at

[46:36]the advent of the imam if you are not brave if you

[46:42]are not strong if you have not mustered every atom of strength

[46:48]possible before the advent of the imam alayhis do not expect to

[46:54]suddenly become brave at his advert these characteristics need to be present

[47:01]before the coming of imam maybe it is that the imam alaihissalam

[47:10]is waiting for these characteristics to form and unite in a small

[47:17]group of people all of them and then allah azzawajal gives him

[47:20]the permission to rise in the camp of al hussain alaihissalam these

[47:28]characteristics were present these 70 or so companions each and every single

[47:37]one of them had these characteristics camp is a miniature model of

[47:48]the camp of imam when we see zohair when we see abbas

[47:58]when we see john when we say these characteristics if we do

[48:07]not begin to struggle to develop them today there will be no

[48:14]place for us amongst the companions of imam allah in the coming

[48:22]nights we'll be discussing the opposite camp who the enemies of the

[48:25]imam ali is so that we may identify the enemies of the

[48:32]imam today and make sure we have no characteristic attributed to the

[48:39]enemies of the imam foreign foreign a [Applause] foreign [Music] [Music] my

[50:46][Music] i go [Music] it says if i'm not the grandson of

[53:34]the prophet of light on the camel they chain my left hand

[53:41]and foot and my right with all my sickness and i also

[53:45]held great pain for the music of the family of my father

[53:49]who said you remind me but as if you don't know what

[53:58]i cry for and you don't know the tragedies we inherited from

[54:02]fatima's dog if you sub if use of god missing blind it

[54:51]shroud and my heart breaks for my uncle as he broke my

[54:59]father's back before they removed the heads abbas's head was crushed by

[55:05]the by that pole attack i saw my father look for humanity

[55:08]when he took abdullah the baby to try get him water but

[55:16]a three-headed arrow in his throat was their reply about i don't

[55:20]know how to tell you what before my father has seen or

[55:25]of that arrow that entered his chest and from his back out

[55:32]it came and when he fell on the sands and lay there

[55:35]i can't express the agony of seeing shimmer sit on my father

[55:42]hussain's chest how could i tell you about how do i bear

[56:24]it is not so but every time i look at my aunts

[56:28]and women folk i remember them running from ten to ten while

[56:35]the enemy called out but the tents of the tyrants and my

[56:42]auntie comes to me and asks me what they should do i

[56:48]said run into the desert say the zainab could not keep up

[56:55]children burning or being crushed on the horse's hooves daughter of muslim

[57:01]fatima daughter of imam hussain is attacked by a soldier he struck

[57:08]her with the bottom of his spear as he rode through the

[57:10]turns she was robbed but how the soldier ripped her earrings out

[57:16]of her ear till the blood trickled profusely down her clothes she

[57:21]ran to find protection from her father hussain but when he was
