[1:02]oath when allah home Matawa nodular Hamal who are Athene sadaqa allahu
[1:08]allahu allah may allah muhammad wa ala muhammad the season of Ashura
[1:20]represents a season of reform and change and the nightly vigils that
[1:24]are held during the first ten days or so or an invitation
[1:30]to do just that to reform ourselves and to change ourselves to
[1:35]make what they call today New Year's resolutions Allah subhana WA Ta'ala
[1:42]says to the Prophet Musa in the promise me la Habana rahim
[1:45]walaqad R Selna musa bi attina and Rudrama kami not below mati
[1:54]Eleanor weather Colombia yeah Mila that surely we have sent Moses Moosa
[2:00]the ayat inna with our signs with the miracles that he carried
[2:04]with him and we commanded him to rise his people from darkness
[2:13]into light and to remind them of the days of Allah what
[2:15]the qur'an ba yah Mila and what our am Allah what are
[2:22]the days of God some commentators have said that it is a
[2:24]reminder to them of their victory the day that God brought victory
[2:33]unto them been us ye the people of Moses some have suggested
[2:35]no it is the the days that they were challenged not the
[2:41]days of victory but the days of challenge in general the days
[2:45]of God are days in which we remember the principles of God
[2:48]and what better days to remember and remind ourselves the principles of
[2:57]God then the days of Muharram the Day of Ashura obviously now
[3:01]that we look in retrospect 1400 years ago everyone agrees that imam
[3:08]hussain ali salam was successful in his mission he was successful in
[3:13]his cause but what is success what are the keys to success
[3:20]who is considered successful the quran tells us bismillah ar-rahman ar-rahim God
[3:24]Allah Hal mumme known that verily those who achieve fala success are
[3:33]the menuhin the believers so it's your belief not your status or
[3:42]your position in society or how much money you have or how
[3:45]many followers you have on social media or how many likes that
[3:47]you get it's your iman your faith your belief and belief is
[3:56]of two kinds there is belief in that which is seen that
[4:00]which is felt that which is tangible accessible and then there is
[4:08]belief in the unseen this is why God is referred to as
[4:12]animal of a be what Shahada and think about it he is
[4:17]not referred to as the god of the scene on the unseen
[4:22]the God of the unseen and the seen not Allah means jihad
[4:24]that evil very animal very be was Shahada because the world of
[4:32]the unseen is much greater than the world of the seen what
[4:36]exists if you look at our entire universe scientists astronomers tell us
[4:43]that everything that is solid in our universe everything that we can
[4:53]see our our planets the Stars the comets all of that stuff
[4:57]all that tangible stuff represents only 3% of the known universe 3%
[5:02]the rest is comprised of what dark energy and dark matter and
[5:11]they call it dark for reasons because they don't they don't really
[5:15]know much about it they know that for instance dark energy is
[5:20]what allows our universe to expand our universes continually continuously expanding as
[5:26]and as it expands it accelerates meaning that it picks up speed
[5:30]and the Quran tells us what's AMA a banana happy Adan well
[5:36]in Natomas your own that we constructed these heavens this world this
[5:39]universe everything in it and surely we are expanding it it is
[5:46]in a state of expansion but what causes that expansion is something
[5:49]which is unseen we cannot manifest dark matter or dark energy at
[5:55]least not yet everything that you see the billions of stars or
[5:58]trillions of stars all of it represents only 3% that which is
[6:08]tangible likewise the belief in the unseen outweighs the belief in that
[6:12]which is seen and that's why the Quran is sent as a
[6:16]guidance dalek al-kitab bula rahi befefe hood and lil muttaqeen al-ladhina amanu
[6:24]Nabil vibe and muta kun the the some describe al-muttaqun as the
[6:28]the the pious or the reverent are the ones that number one
[6:31]the first criteria is that they believe in Allah will babe the
[6:39]world of the unseen because when you're faced with a calamity when
[6:44]you're faced with a catastrophe when you're faced with a challenge like
[6:49]the challenge that an imam say the shahada ABI Abdillah hell for
[6:53]saying was faced with you need strength from the world of the
[7:02]unseen when everything around you looks like it's not working for you
[7:06]when everything around you in this world looks like it's not going
[7:08]in your favor that's when you need to begin to draw strength
[7:13]from the world of the unseen sometimes we find ourself in that
[7:16]sort of situation success looking in retrospect when we talked about imam
[7:23]hussain being successful success also leaves clues they say that success leaves
[7:32]clues there's a trail there's a path the opposite is also true
[7:37]and it's no coincidence that the Prophet Musa is mentioned by name
[7:41]the most out of any prophet in the Quran and his story
[7:46]is repeated throughout all of the major verses through all of the
[7:51]major chapters and there's a reason behind that it's not a coincidence
[7:55]that was intentional delivered to the Muslim Ummah that message al imam
[8:02]as-sadiq salawats allah wa ni'ma ali he narrates he says that after
[8:10]rasulullah sallallahu alehiwassallaam passed away and after people turned away from the
[8:13]Andal bait there was a handful of supporters among those early supporters
[8:18]was salman salman al mohammed ii and this is in the narration
[8:25]salman stood to the people and he spoke to them he addressed
[8:28]them because salman was a person of knowledge not just knowledge of
[8:34]what was apparent but knowledge of he had knowledge of the unseen
[8:43]the Prophet had informed him of certain secrets so he was considered
[8:47]one of the elite companions of the elevated EMU salaam one of
[8:50]the Hawass the elite companions so he stood in front of the
[8:55]people he said o people if you know me you know me
[8:56]if you don't know me this is who I am and he
[8:59]said that since you have chosen in short he said since you
[9:05]have chosen the Sunna of Benoa Salah since you have chosen their
[9:08]practice and their path then you will follow in their footsteps how
[9:12]the one not only been Natalie well put that evil put them
[9:16]step by step inch by inch when you choose a person's lifestyle
[9:22]when you choose a person's habit when you choose a person's Sunnah
[9:28]their practice you also choose their destination so look at the people
[9:32]examine the people that you're imitating that you're idolizing that you're following
[9:38]every step that they take and every move that they make and
[9:45]every product that they endorse and everything that they say if you're
[9:49]following that religiously and you're idolizing it you're going to end in
[9:53]the same destination as then step by step inch by inch so
[9:56]the story of Benoit Island the people of Moses in the Quran
[10:04]is it's delivered with intentionality because Salman says to the Muslim Ummah
[10:07]since you have adopted their Sunnah you will fall in there you
[10:13]will following their footsteps step by step and inch by inch success
[10:17]is found where success is found in principles when you stand on
[10:21]principle this is what imam hussain ali sallam taught us and principles
[10:29]reflect absolute truths what does that mean there are certain truths in
[10:35]this world that they don't change no matter what no matter if
[10:38]you're in North America South America the Middle East Africa Asia Antarctica
[10:42]Australia these are absolute truths that do not change whether in the
[10:48]in the 21st century you're the you're the 30th century or the
[10:54]seventh century or anything in between they never change and principles which
[10:58]reflect absolute truths they're sources from allah subhanho wa taala so whatever
[11:07]endeavor that you have whatever mission that you have whatever cause that
[11:10]you have if it's rooted in principle and if it's reflected by
[11:13]absolute truths then it is bound to succeed it is bound to
[11:19]be victorious if not in the short run if not in the
[11:23]short term then in the long term so for instance when we
[11:29]talk about absolute truths or foundational truths we talk about honesty as
[11:36]being a principle to live by sometimes you may think that honesty
[11:40]it's not going to benefit me in the short term I have
[11:46]to do for instance tell a white lie but in reality honesty
[11:49]will always benefit you in the long term putting people first this
[11:54]is also a principle that reflects an absolute truth it may not
[12:00]benefit you in the short term but in the long term it
[12:02]will benefit you so if you're running a business sometimes you think
[12:06]well I have to make money so I have to put money
[12:07]first but when you put money before people's interests it will benefit
[12:12]you in the short term but it's not gonna benefit you in
[12:16]the long term every single statement that imam hussain ali salam said
[12:21]every step that he took every gesture everything reflected principles principles directly
[12:30]revealed from Allah subhana WA Ta'ala so the Quran tells us it
[12:34]says bismillahi r-rahman r-rahim wa no Lido and pneumonia alladhina story fulfill
[12:40]earth mana Elohim in matin when a Allah Hamal war Athene that
[12:44]when it comes to victory when it comes to success we will
[12:49]Allah says it is our will when we do our it is
[12:55]from his Radha from his desire that we bestow upon those who
[13:00]have been oppressed when Orido and pneumonia alladhina stood i for one
[13:08]a allah home in man we grant them leadership when a shaman
[13:13]wada seen and they shall also be the heirs meaning that those
[13:18]people who are oppressed those people who suffer those people who in
[13:23]this world it seems like the odds are against them allah subhanho
[13:29]wa taala says it is our desire to see them succeed in
[13:32]this world sometimes you feel like the entire world is against you
[13:35]that nothing is going your way that nothing is happening the way
[13:43]that you envisioned it that nothing is right God says that if
[13:46]you're in that state and you're truly oppressed and you're lost and
[13:49]you feel like you have no support you feel like you have
[13:53]no one to turn to God says that it is his desire
[13:59]that one day your time shall come every single person their time
[14:04]shall come so that when it comes to hisab yomel hisab when
[14:09]it comes to accountability nobody can say that I had I did
[14:14]not have any power throughout my entire life and if that truly
[14:17]was the case then they're not held accountable and they're not held
[14:23]liable so there's four principles that I want to share with you
[14:26]four short principles and this comes from actually comes from a book
[14:29]on relationships called love and respect by dr.
[14:31]Emerson agaric sand it's it's about how to maintain a healthy marriage
[14:35]but you look at these rules they reflect principles of interaction interpersonal
[14:41]relations how to treat people how to deal with people so the
[14:49]first rule and the first law says that when one of you
[14:52]when one of you makes a mistake control any anger you may
[14:57]feel and trust God completely no matter what happens sometimes when you
[15:03]share with someone in an interaction or in two in a relationship
[15:07]as human beings none of us are perfect which one of us
[15:12]is perfect which person can raise their hand right now and say
[15:15]I'm perfect I've never made a flaw I've never made a mistake
[15:20]if you have please tell us so that we can listen to
[15:22]you and take notes and all of us can learn but we
[15:26]are human beings we are affected by emotions such as anger it
[15:30]says it says when one of you makes a mistake control any
[15:35]anger that you may feel I mentioned the hadith the other day
[15:38]about anger that says a large umbrella to shave on to Qaddafi
[15:46]palpably Adam that anger it's like a burning piece of charcoal that
[15:50]sits in the hearts of Benoa Adam it burns in the heart
[15:55]and think about what imam hussain ali salam had to go through
[16:03]there was plenty that imam hussein could have been angry about that
[16:08]he could have been furious and emotional and resentful and spiteful you
[16:14]know when we go through the rollercoaster of life and the rollercoaster
[16:20]of emotions we tend to ask ourselves the question why me why
[16:26]not somebody else don't you think imam hussain ali salam could have
[16:32]asked the question why me is he not the grandson of rasool
[16:41]allah is he not the family that has been chosen chosen meaning
[16:46]to serve humanity is he not from the family that the Quran
[16:50]describes as vbeaute in Edina LA and so far our youth Kara
[16:58]fee has small in homes that that have been exalted in homes
[17:02]where the name of allah subhanaw taala and the remembrance of God
[17:13]is frequent it doesn't stop it's continuous could not imam hussain ali
[17:18]salam say god why did why did you have to pick me
[17:21]why couldn't you pick somebody else for this you could have there
[17:24]was plenty to be furious at there was plenty to be frustrated
[17:27]at imagine the people as as imam hussain was leaving medina to
[17:33]Mecca and to Karbala imagine the people that joined the caravan and
[17:37]the left the caravan they joined out of interest and then when
[17:40]they realized that there's a battle ahead they quit they turned on
[17:43]their heels they got cold feet they went back to their family
[17:49]if you're part of a project or you're you've been involved in
[17:53]leadership and people start to drop and people start to quit doesn't
[17:58]that become frustrating don't you hold sometimes anger and resentment towards them
[18:02]on the inside and this was this was this was a chance
[18:07]to stand up for what was right Imam Hussain could have been
[18:14]spiteful he could have been hateful he could have had a nasty
[18:17]attitude towards them but what did what did he do he continued
[18:23]to pray for them the Quran tells us how to treat people
[18:25]when the Shaitaan tries to prick us and turn us against people
[18:30]for the life what a mobile or fee were are with a
[18:33]ninja hélène that holds the forgiveness so if someone asks you for
[18:38]forgiveness you're ready and you are in this state to grant them
[18:46]forgiveness what moral order and continue to command to what is right
[18:49]despite your circumstances well of a ninja Hadean you also have in
[18:55]this situation people who are jaw head and jaw hell by the
[18:58]way when we talk about JAL JAL is not ignorance gel when
[19:04]we say jahiliyyah astral jahiliya the people of jahiliya were not just
[19:09]people who were ignorant the original meaning of the word gel in
[19:13]the Arabic language is to be rabid and confrontational when you can
[19:20]get in someone's face to be rabid to be hot-tempered which in
[19:25]fact was seen in in in in certain circles in Arabia it
[19:29]was seen as something which was noble and honorable if you can
[19:33]do that because think about it you're out in the desert you
[19:35]got a you know you got to protect your own and so
[19:39]you had to you have to be really be tough so the
[19:43]Quran says 1 enjoy aliens sometimes you have people not just ignorant
[19:47]but they're rabid and confrontational and they'll get in your face and
[19:49]they just want to fight you no matter what even if you've
[19:54]done nothing to them think about that had Imam Husayn hurt any
[19:56]of these people had he I mean had he blocked them from
[20:01]receiving their stipend their taxes what did he do what was his
[20:05]then what was there were people that they just they wanted a
[20:13]fight no matter what they wanted to fight why in Mayan Savannah
[20:16]came in a shape on Ynez one facade villa in the whole
[20:20]semia on a limb and if the shape on comes and tries
[20:22]to prick you you know poke you sometimes he's there trying to
[20:27]poke you and turn you against people first our villa turned to
[20:31]allah in the hosts ameerin aadhi him he is God is hearing
[20:35]all of this God is he's watching all of this in a
[20:37]Latina taco in a mess of humppa 4 min ash-shaytani tada Carol
[20:42]Fatah who mops her own that those who are truly reverent when
[20:47]they find themselves in that situation they turn to Allah subhana WA
[20:53]Ta'ala they have Basava basura meaning not just sight not just physical
[20:58]sight so Bazaar is the sight of the eyes when you can
[21:02]see with your eyes basura is vision sight of the the heart
[21:05]they have vision they can see beyond you know this lame stuff
[21:12]that happens between people and the Koran says another group of people
[21:15]the more the Shaitaan pushes them the more that the more they
[21:21]dive into jail the more they dive into ignorant the more they
[21:24]dive into evil and to wrongdoing so imam hussain ali salam could
[21:28]have been angry and he knew some of these people were ignorant
[21:32]and so for the people that were ignorant he prayed for them
[21:35]he said o allah forgive these people for they don't know some
[21:39]of the people they knew they knew exactly what they were doing
[21:43]and imam hussain made it clear in a way he made it
[21:48]so clear that there wouldn't be an excuse for anybody this is
[21:51]how clear he made it so this is number one turning to
[21:58]allah subhana wa ta'ala number two is depend on God not your
[22:02]mate to meet all of your needs sometimes we depend on other
[22:07]people to give us only what allah subhana wa ta'ala can give
[22:11]us in psychology they refer to this as attachment theory and children
[22:16]have a secure attachment versus insecure attachment and adults if this is
[22:25]not dealt with at a young age if there's insecure attachment it
[22:29]can carry on into adulthood so adults can also have secure attachment
[22:34]and insecure attachments to other people around them and it can be
[22:39]devastating to relationships if it's not dealt with at a young age
[22:42]sometimes even when it comes to Allah subhana WA Ta'ala some people
[22:46]have secure attack so an example of secure attachment is when you
[22:48]think positive of yourself and you think positive of the other person
[22:53]so when it comes to our relationship with God we can have
[22:57]secure attachment and we can also have insecure attachment secure attachment is
[23:03]when you turn to Allah in all affairs no matter what whether
[23:07]it's good whether it's bad whether it's moderate insecure attachment an example
[23:12]of that is when we turn to God only when things are
[23:16]not going our way and even then God keeps his doors open
[23:18]for us God keeps the door open this is what imam hussain
[23:25]ali sallam taught alfred Romania's ii Duryea because he was concerned that
[23:33]he had done too much damage he had done too much evil
[23:36]that could not be reversed and the Imam assured him that as
[23:41]long as you're sincere in your forgiveness sincere in asking for forgiveness
[23:44]sincere in your repentance than Allah subhana WA Ta'ala will accept from
[23:53]you and this is why in in in the Quran this is
[23:55]beautifully described by the example of the prophet yaqoob when he said
[24:03]in Nima ascoobis Viwa hosni illallah well hello min allahi my lats
[24:09]on a moon after years of not receiving news from his son
[24:12]his long-lost beloved son Yusuf and his sons came to him and
[24:21]they gave him the news and they saw him weeping the Quran
[24:23]says he wept almost till he lost his eyesight's what we are
[24:29]but ina home in Alfa's nifA hawa Kaleem he almost lost his
[24:33]eyesight because he wept so much and so when his sons saw
[24:38]him in that state they became cynical they said you know what
[24:42]you're you're just gonna continue to weep over that son until the
[24:47]rest of your life and they started mocking him this is when
[24:50]he realized that even his own sons he could not express his
[24:56]grief to so he said in Nima a shrew Beth vo Hosni
[24:57]in Allah I will only speak of my sorrow and grief to
[25:02]God because even sometimes your closest family members and the people that
[25:06]are closest to you they don't understand what's going on inside your
[25:10]heart that's the moment where you need to turn to Allah subhana
[25:14]WA Ta'ala this is why the Imam says in his dua a
[25:18]lot about an alaykum in near I'm men see walk that I
[25:23]brought my misfortunes to you I brought the calamities my issues I
[25:28]brought my challenges to you I didn't bring them to anyone else
[25:31]because I knew nobody else was able to provide me a solution
[25:37]except for you number three the third principle is trust in God
[25:41]when the whys of lie threaten to overwhelm you we always have
[25:44]the question of why and that always threatens to overwhelm us why
[25:51]this is happening to us I mentioned why and if only if
[25:55]only I had a bigger paycheck or if only I had parents
[26:02]that can understand me better or if only this and if only
[26:05]that so when those wise and you don't know why the things
[26:09]that are happening to you why they're happening you trust God completely
[26:14]in that stage the Quran reminds us it says and ladina after
[26:18]une ilaha PR man what boredom wa allahu newbie him where tafakkur
[26:25]una fearful kasama wati wa la roof robbing ah mihalick Tejada bartylla
[26:28]those people that remember God when they are standing when they are
[26:33]sitting and when they are on their side when they are laying
[26:35]down people that are constantly remembering God and when they remember God
[26:40]the Quran speaks on their behalf they say Rob bana maha la
[26:45]caja de batalla Oh Lord you didn't create all of this in
[26:48]vain meaning that you did not create this world or me without
[26:52]a purpose there definitely has to be a purpose there definitely has
[26:55]to be some sort of meaning in life the challenge is that
[27:00]I haven't discovered it yet I don't know what it is so
[27:04]they say that when people begin to stress about the day-to-day activities
[27:08]is there's a number of studies and some dispute this but there
[27:12]are studies that have recorded this we all know that the leading
[27:19]killer at least here in the United States is what people if
[27:21]you they go online they search for cancer and how prevalent cancer
[27:27]is but something is more prevalent than cancer what is it does
[27:32]anyone know any of the physicians stress is a symptom of something
[27:42]heart disease heart disease is the leading killer stress is part of
[27:48]heart disease so stress can be a killer when we worry about
[27:52]the things that the the watts of life or sometimes even the
[27:57]Y's of life they say that one of the times that is
[28:05]most prevalent when the most amount of heart attacks happen are in
[28:09]the morning between 6:00 a.m.
[28:14]and noon that's the time of day and when it comes to
[28:15]the time of week it's Monday Monday mornings when people are stressing
[28:19]about going back to work that's the time when here in the
[28:23]United States the most amount of heart attacks happen because people are
[28:28]stressing and stress can truly be a killer and there's ways to
[28:32]get rid of stress and manage stress we all need to learn
[28:38]about that maintaining a balanced lifestyle when it comes to the food
[28:42]that you eat your exercise that all helps defeat stress and defeat
[28:45]the symptoms of stress and do you think that imam hussain ali
[28:51]saddam was not stressed and he was happy about what was going
[28:53]on and he was excited and joyful he was joyful knowing that
[28:58]this was the command of god but he wasn't necessarily happy about
[29:01]what was happening he wasn't necessarily excited and enthusiastic about what was
[29:07]gonna happen and that's why I mentioned the hadith yesterday the exchange
[29:13]between him and his son Adina a kebab on the way to
[29:16]Karbala when Ali in Al Akbar noticed that his father was he
[29:22]was dozing off he was falling asleep and waking up and it
[29:25]seemed that there was a lot of on his mind and he
[29:30]was overwhelmed and he kept saying in now allahu wa inna ilayhi
[29:34]about your own in nan ilaha illa Allah Joan so Ali like
[29:39]what he asked him he says what is it that you are
[29:43]saying that for are we not on the path of truth are
[29:44]we not going towards victory he says absolutely yes the Sun reminds
[29:50]the father so sometimes thinking about the path in front of us
[29:54]can become very very stressful turning to allah subhana wa ta'ala this
[29:58]is number three and number four remember that life is not about
[30:05]the two of you and your marriage it's first about your commitment
[30:09]to JC he says Jesus Christ will say God and doing everything
[30:12]you do for him it's not about you it's not about your
[30:19]problems and nobody in this world really owes you anything if you
[30:21]have problems or if you don't have problems it's about your commitment
[30:26]to allah subhanho wa taala that's first and foremost everything else is
[30:31]secondary your primary focus is your relationship with allah subhanho wa taala
[30:37]well in nasa la tijuana Suki wah Mejia wama mati lillahi rabbil
[30:41]aalameen say my prayer Salah t1 no suki meaning my rights huama
[30:46]hey aya my life waa mati my death all of that is
[30:52]for Allah subhana WA Ta'ala everything revolves around the center and that
[30:57]is him so sometimes we think our our value is based on
[31:03]the validation of other people it's not about other people even Allah
[31:09]subhana WA Ta'ala tells the Prophet in the Quran what's up 15
[31:14]F Sikkim Allah whom a body wash and NASA Allah who a
[31:20]Jaco antosha that Yaris or Allah you keep within yourself hidden within
[31:25]what God has made apparent and you are afraid of people when
[31:30]in reality you should be afraid of Allah subhana WA Ta'ala not
[31:36]the judgement of people what action NASA allahu haqq want asha ask
[31:41]yourself should I be afraid of people of the judgement of people
[31:44]or should i concern myself with the day of judgments when I
[31:47]stand in front of the real judge the real Hackham and that
[31:53]is allah subhana wa tada an imam husain understood that reality and
[31:58]this is why his attitude he kept repeating what Allah o Allah
[32:07]take take until you're satisfied anything that God took from him on
[32:11]that day he said take until you're satisfied there was not one
[32:15]swear he said okay that's it I've reached the threshold of pain
[32:21]I've reached the threshold God please no more this is too painful
[32:25]not not one person records this at all it was the opposite
[32:28]he kept saying take more or a la if this is what
[32:34]satisfies you seeing every single one of his family members go out
[32:38]into the battlefield one by one don't you think this was painful
[32:43]for the heart of the Imam when he saw Ali like about
[32:45]to go out into the battlefield sometimes when we see our children
[32:52]fall and trip over there's a hadith it says that one day
[32:55]rasulullah sallallahu alehiwassallaam salaam from Edoardo muhammad he was speaking he was
[33:06]on the member on the pulpit and he was speaking to his
[33:11]people and imam hussain ali salam was very young at that time
[33:17]maybe around four or five years old and he walked into the
[33:19]Masjid and he was walking around and he the hadith says he
[33:24]tripped over his own clothes have you seen sometimes children trip over
[33:28]their own clothes and he fell and within an instant the Prophet
[33:32]came down from the member right away he came from the pulpit
[33:34]and he went and he held his son and he embraced his
[33:40]son just because he fell over imagine the heart of imam hussain
[33:44]ali salaam as he saw his children as he saw his nephews
[33:49]as he saw his brothers go out into the battlefield it was
[33:53]more than overwhelming there's no there is no true word to describe
[34:00]the emotions in the heart of imam hussain ali salam on that
[34:03]day some of the things that imam hussain ali salam noticed in
[34:06]people and I'll wrap up with this you realize from his statements
[34:12]one of his statements he says the following he says in the
[34:16]NASA a bead of dunya what Dean Allah empanada else Allah to
[34:20]him they said that people the majority of people they're slaves of
[34:27]this world they're slaves of this dunya and God forbid we ever
[34:30]become a bead of dunya that we become slaves to this world
[34:34]this is a time for us to pray to Allah subhanAllah Allah
[34:36]that he protects us he protects our families or communities or societies
[34:40]from falling into the trap of being a bee to dunya what
[34:45]Dino now equina Allah else in it to him he says that
[34:50]he says that there Dean there the religion is like the the
[34:53]spit and the saliva that's in their mouth it's something that's just
[34:56]it's there it's in their mouth they speak it but they don't
[35:01]practice it Fatima hello bill Bela holiday y'know when people are put
[35:06]under trial and tribulation the true faithful they decrease in number all
[35:13]of a sudden they decrease and he saw this firsthand people who
[35:18]in front of him were chasing the dunya and he kept warning
[35:23]them stop chasing the dunya be Free People the dunya is not
[35:26]gonna give you what you're looking for and truly those people that
[35:30]were chasing the dunya they lost their dunya and thereafter both of
[35:38]them people like Omar ibn Saud who was there and some narrations
[35:43]even described him as as he was ordering the the killing of
[35:47]Imam Hussain the beheading that tears were coming down his own face
[35:54]so consciously he knew that what he was doing was wrong but
[35:56]he was there because they had promised him that he would be
[35:59]the governor of a right a small little city and what happened
[36:03]after that he became the governor but do you think that the
[36:06]people letting him off the hook publicly he could not even go
[36:10]out into the streets because people resented him for what he did
[36:14]only a few years later Albert Ali bin Abi obeyed Ithaca fee
[36:20]one of the followers of ahlulbayt who Muslim if not be the
[36:23]ambassador of Imam Hussain when he first arrives to Kufa he stays
[36:25]at his home when the Battle of Karbala was happening he was
[36:31]in jail in Kufa but he he left the prison he left
[36:37]the jail and he went to work and he found a lot
[36:38]of Mossad who was his own brother-in-law he found Shabaab needled Ocean
[36:44]the man who executed the Imam he found harmonica he'll the one
[36:53]who shot the arrow into the neck of Abdullah hallelujah and shot
[36:56]the arrow into the chest of Imam Hussein he found Obeidallah he
[37:00]bin zayed the commander of the the governor of Kufa one by
[37:05]one and he executed them in the most gruesome ways he executed
[37:12]them this man al immortelle he avenged the deaths that took place
[37:16]on the Day of Ashura so they ran after this dunya but
[37:18]in reality there was nothing behind it this is what happens when
[37:23]we run after the dunya you you grasp it and you realize
[37:25]that it's empty on the inside there's nothing that it really offers
[37:30]so you end up losing the dunya and you lose the after
[37:33]imam hussain ali salam also said in nadya dunya toola Arats what's
[37:38]inaccurate imagine this is the person who witnessed the islamic community grow
[37:44]and prosper and thrive under the leadership of his own grandfather so
[37:50]fifty years later he says that this world in the Hadiya dunya
[37:56]sahara - what's an accurate it's changed not in a positive way
[37:59]it's changed in a very negative way it's change drastically he says
[38:04]allah tyrone and al haqq allahumma rabba well battle-ax lighten a hand
[38:09]don't don't you see the irony don't you see what's going on
[38:15]all it took was fifty years that instead of people in joining
[38:18]good and forbidding evil evil people are now in joining and encouraging
[38:23]evil and forbidding that which is good completely changed not a thousand
[38:31]years but only within fifty years this is why he says in
[38:34]the Hadiya dunya - hey Garrett what's an occurrence and the Prophet
[38:38]had seen many years earlier a dream narrations tell us that he
[38:47]had seen monkeys dancing on the pulpit on the member and it
[38:52]took less than 50 years for monkeys to start dancing on the
[38:56]pulpit of rasulallah and to change everything less than 50 years it
[39:01]was before years eat and before mahalia as well so this is
[39:09]what imam hussain ali salaam this is the challenge that he had
[39:13]to face for him is that it was not something that was
[39:17]just physical yes absolutely there was a physical fight and there was
[39:22]physical pain but the pain that imam hussain ali salaam saw and
[39:25]he witnessed was not just physical it was it went to the
[39:29]core the conscious the spirit of everything that he stood for and
[39:33]this is why he said that if it requires for the swords
[39:38]to take me if it requires my life may I see you
[39:39]for houdini because even though the physical pain is significant but it's
[39:43]nothing in comparison to the spiritual and the emotional pain that's caused
[39:48]when you see Islam being flipped over on its head an imam
[39:56]hussain ali salam on the day of ashura kept sending his his
[40:00]companions and in his families his family members one by one he
[40:07]didn't send them all out perhaps there would be a change of
[40:11]heart perhaps there would be one person who would change everything perhaps
[40:18]there was a chance for these people to redeem themselves perhaps there
[40:24]was a chance for these people to not follow through with it
[40:29]completely imam hussain Hadi sonam kept giving them chances kept giving them
[40:35]reminders but in the end after all of the family members had
[40:39]gone out into the battlefield and all of the companions narrations mentioned
[40:43]there were a couple of companions that that survived or people that
[40:47]accompanied imam hussain that were not there for the sake of battle
[40:50]that they survived they were there to witness but everyone who was
[40:55]willing to fight went out into the battlefield so imam hussain ali
[41:00]salam prepared himself during the final moments and this was the part
[41:05]that shook the conscience of the community that it shook the community
[41:12]to the core so that even the enemy army the army of
[41:15]Amarra prasad began to question their conscious and began to question their
[41:19]motives and that is when he took his six-month boy abdul ahad
[41:26]ravi out into the battlefield and finally he was preparing himself to
[41:32]go out one last time he began to call to the women
[41:37]he began to call to his sister Zeynep his wives yeah yeah
[41:40]zeyneb what I were way out of pay away our Uncle Phil
[41:48]Moyer Rabab la Condamine is Salam he began to send his salaam
[41:51]to them and his sister Zeynep turned to him say the about
[41:55]Abdullah one final request she brought to him his son Abdullah Aradia
[42:02]and Abdullah Aradia his mother was a rabid bintang royal face she
[42:11]was this she was the daughter of a very noble man who
[42:13]had converted to Islam from Christianity during the time of the second
[42:17]khalifa and in order to forge the alliances between him and the
[42:24]muslim community he married to have two of his daughters one was
[42:27]Salma - al imam hassan and Rabab - an imam hussain ali
[42:32]salaam she bore him two children one was tsukina his daughter tsukina
[42:35]and the other was abdullah her brother who was six months old
[42:39]but because al Rabab who was a nursing mother because she did
[42:46]not have water to drink therefore she could not provide milk for
[42:50]her infant and her infant could not did not have any water
[42:53]was suffering from thirst his color had completely changed but out of
[42:59]embarrassment she could not bring him directly to the father so zina
[43:05]body has sadhana she took him she said my dear brother take
[43:08]him out into the battlefield perhaps their hearts will soften perhaps they
[43:15]will have a change of heart when they see a six-month-old so
[43:21]imam husain took him out to the battlefield and he was wrapped
[43:28]in the traditional way that a child is wrapped in the cloth
[43:32]but because he was so weak from the thirst he could not
[43:39]even move so imam hussain ali salam took him out into the
[43:43]battlefield he said to the people old people if we are sinners
[43:52]and if i if you consider me a sinner and you want
[43:54]to prevent me from drinking water that is understandable but what is
[43:59]the sin of a six month old baby can you tell me
[44:01]what is his sin what is his sin that you prevent him
[44:04]from the water that you allow even the animals to drink from
[44:10]at that moment this was this was one of the pinnacles of
[44:15]the day this was one of the crucial points of the day
[44:20]where the soldiers began to turn to one another they thought to
[44:23]themselves what he is saying is true some of them were fathers
[44:28]some of them themselves they had children that had babies what he
[44:31]is saying is true if we're fighting him because of his rebellion
[44:34]what is the sin of a six month old this six month
[44:38]old has not held a sword against us he is not fighting
[44:41]against us so they began to debate amongst themselves one of them
[44:47]said a number of them said let's give him water a number
[44:51]of them said do not give him water at that point yemeni-american
[44:55]assad he turned to her mother at Makaha who was an expert
[45:00]Archer he said to him yaja Ramallah epsilon is our alcone he
[45:07]said o mother he said I want you to end the discussion
[45:09]do something that will end the discussion they will know no one
[45:15]will speak of this again have Molotov Makaha the narration says that
[45:19]he placed the arrow inside the bow he drew it back and
[45:22]he was waiting for the perfect opportunity at that moment the cloth
[45:27]that was covering the neck jalaja Ravi it came exposed it exposed
[45:31]his neck he says that his neck was like shining silver in
[45:36]front of me so he placed the arrow in the bow he
[45:41]pulled it back and he shot the arrow towards imam husain it
[45:44]fell straight into the neck of abdullah ali baba who mine'll worried
[45:49]and worried at that moment abdullah was not moving but when he
[45:56]felt the heat of the arrow go inside his neck he removed
[45:58]his arms from the cloth the narration says that he began to
[46:04]turn left and right like a bird which is slaughtered imam hussain
[46:07]alehissalaam took some of that blood he threw it towards the sky
[46:11]and imam bukhari Sulabh says that not one single drop came back
[46:18]to the earth in Nijhawan nyaaa roger own he turned back to
[46:21]the camp with his baby now in his hand slaughtered by the
[46:27]arrow so cana alayhis-salam comes running out with your father please give
[46:30]me good news please tell me that they have given my brother
[46:34]water and there were some who say Ali was embarrassed he presented
[46:41]their child to her she saw the state that he was in
[46:46]narrations tell us that Imam Hussain went behind the tent and he
[46:48]dug a very small grave he placed Abdullah javea in that grave
[46:56]he buried him and as he was turning around he heard a
[47:01]voice from the heavens called AHA he has a nurse that is
[47:09]waiting for him in her in heaven in Nana na wa inna
[47:12]ilayhi roger own was a animal Adina voila mu am uncle opinion
