[0:02][Music] [Music] may allah [Music] tens of thousands of people embraced islam
[0:33]they left their families their tribes their lofty positions that they had
[0:41]in their societies and communities and they joined rasulullah sometimes they would
[0:48]join rasulullah only after their family abandoned them they would threaten them
[0:53]that if you join rasulullah religion you will be excommunicated but yet
[0:57]thousands rushed to join this beautiful religion of the holy prophet now
[1:05]the question is this what attracted all those individuals what was their
[1:10]motive what motivated them to come and sacrifice their lives for this
[1:17]religion for this man now for some of them it may have
[1:26]been the philosophical and intellectual arguments that the holy prophet used to
[1:29]use the end of the day the holy quran is filled with
[1:35]knowledge it's filled with treasures and simply put islam makes sense there
[1:41]are no contradictions there are there is nothing in the holy quran
[1:47]and simply put islam makes sense some people some of the companions
[1:55]of rasulullah maybe that's why they joined the religion of islam but
[1:59]most of them that was not their motive that's not what attracted
[2:03]them to islam for most of the companions of rasulullah that the
[2:07]holy quran and you saw people by the hundreds by the thousands
[2:15]joining the religion of allah entering the religion of allah main motive
[2:23]for most individuals was the rasulullah the virtuous character of this messenger
[2:30]number one the holy prophet was honest and trustworthy he was truthful
[2:37]he was called assad he had never ever told the lie everyone
[2:41]could trust rasulullah with their lives with their children with their money
[2:48]and everything they had because he was a trustworthy individual so obviously
[2:52]after 40 days that you've built such a reputation as a as
[2:59]a truthful honest and trustworthy person now when the prophet comes and
[3:04]says i have been sent as a messenger it's much easier for
[3:10]people to accept your message because you have that clean reputation that's
[3:14]number one number two you find that the holy prophet was merciful
[3:18]and kind with everyone around him he was the nicest person that
[3:24]you could meet anyone that would go and meet rasulullah would be
[3:28]so surprised at how gentle how soft spoke and how nice rasulullah
[3:34]was he would never yell at anyone he would never scold anyone
[3:39]he would never rebuke anyone he would never make anyone feel bad
[3:44]he would never um disappoint anyone was the nicest person you could
[3:52]meet in one tradition his servant anas ibn malik he says i
[3:58]served rasulullah for seven years and not once yell at me not
[4:04]once did he rebuke me why did you do this why didn't
[4:06]you come on time why didn't you do that you see when
[4:10]people have servants they yell at them so much because they don't
[4:13]do what they want rasulullah never ever never ever yelled at anderson
[4:19]servant says that you were so gentle ya rasulullah with your people
[4:33]you were so gentle you were so merciful you were so kind
[4:38]with them and if it was not for that the quran says
[4:41]if you were vulgar with them if you were rude with them
[4:45]they would have all left you no one would have stayed with
[4:47]rasulullah i don't care how many miracles you would have showed them
[4:52]it doesn't matter how much knowledge you had when you don't treat
[4:55]people with kindness then they will run away from you this is
[5:00]number two and number three what was so beautiful about the holy
[5:05]prophet and so unique about him was that he was caring compassionate
[5:09]and empathetic with his people the holy quran speaks about this allah
[5:14]says in the holy quran so that we have sent a messenger
[5:33]from amongst you and when you are from that people from that
[5:36]tribe you're going to love them they're all your friends and family
[5:38]members you're they're your people allah didn't send someone from a distant
[5:43]country where he wouldn't care about these people no he was born
[5:47]amongst you he was raised with you so he cares about this
[5:51]land he cares about this heritage and he cares about the people
[5:55]of this land and then the quran explains why the holy prophet
[6:01]was empathetic meaning when they suffered rasool allah suffered when they were
[6:09]in pain rasulallah was in pain he was so caring for you
[6:13]he wanted the best for you anytime rasulullah did anything for you
[6:17]he told you do this or don't do that it's because he
[6:20]loves you rasulullah is he loves you and then and finally he
[6:27]is compassionate and merciful with you so he would never want to
[6:31]burden you with this new religion don't think that he was sent
[6:34]to make your life miserable or to make it more difficult no
[6:37]rasulallah cares for you he loves you and he wants what's best
[6:39]for you and that's why the holy quran says about the holy
[6:45]prophet [Music] rasulullah are truly extraordinary your virtuous character is sublime it's
[6:58]it's so great allah is calling can you imagine that allah is
[7:05]testifying about the prophet that his character is unbelievable it's so beautiful
[7:09]it's extraordinary so it was the rasulullah was the main factor that
[7:19]drove those people and the hundreds and the and the thousands to
[7:23]come and embrace this religion because they loved the character of rasulullah
[7:29]his personality and that's why brothers and sisters if there's one lesson
[7:33]that we learn from all of that it's this that you don't
[7:38]necessarily have to have knowledge to invite people to your faith some
[7:41]people think that i have to be a scholar i have to
[7:45]go to how's the seminary i have to learn become a saiyan
[7:49]the shift only then i can propagate for islam i can invite
[7:52]people to my religion not necessarily brothers and sisters even if i
[7:56]don't have knowledge about my religion i can still attract people to
[8:01]my faith like rasulullah through good character through my actions through my
[8:07]good actions and good words and just presenting myself in a kind
[8:12]and generous way will be the best way that i attract people
[8:16]to my faith speaks about this he says the imam says that
[8:30]be silent propagators invite people to our faith but not through your
[8:32]tongue you don't have to speak you don't have to lecture people
[8:37]about the quran about the beliefs of islam and the creeds that
[8:41]you hold no no through your actions you don't even have to
[8:46]speak let your actions speak for you because they speak much more
[8:50]loudly than your words do and they are a much better attraction
[8:57]than your words are and then the imam says when they see
[9:07]you let them see the virtues of bait through your actions let
[9:14]them see the kindness and generosity through your actions that's the best
[9:20]way to attract them and then the imam says another hadith the
[9:34]imam said when you present yourself in a virtuous very respectful courteous
[9:40]way when you are a trustworthy person you're honest you have the
[9:44]best you smile you're very nice with people people will say ha
[9:52]that this is the discipline of jaffa meaning it is their leader
[9:55]and imam assad of that taught them this so it will all
[9:58]reflect back on your faith so the greatest service you can do
[10:03]to your faith is just to present yourself in a nice way
[10:06]that will reflect back and your faith people will say wow prophet
[10:08]muhammad must be a very good teacher of these muslims because they're
[10:15]the best people and then the imam said foreign because just through
[10:24]your actions you'll be helping me you'll be helping my cause because
[10:29]of allah and then the imam said but the opposite is also
[10:37]true if you do not present your self in a virtuous way
[10:42]no i cheat people and deceive them and lie and i commit
[10:45]every single vice that i can and i don't even say that
[10:49]i'm a muslim just the fact that people know i'm a muslim
[10:51]i'm a follower that's a disservice today because the imam will say
[10:55]look at the followers of jack look at the followers of prophet
[10:59]muhammad they are the worst people look at muslims they are the
[11:04]worst people look at the followers of musa in the japanese that
[11:07]we commemorate his shahada his martyrdom tonight they are the worst people
[11:12]so the imam says you can attract people to your faith through
[11:18]your and likewise you can repel them through your so be careful
[11:22]everything you do in your society in your community you are sending
[11:28]messages all the time don't think that you only represent yourself like
[11:30]it or not every human being represents himself and his faith in
[11:34]one way or another now it's wrong it's wrong to generalize stereotype
[11:40]and if someone commits a mistake you know we blame the religion
[11:42]but that's how human beings are when someone does good we say
[11:47]wow he must be his religion must teach him that and when
[11:49]he does something bad likewise they say his religion so we have
[11:52]to be extra careful when it comes to this point al has
[11:56]a beautiful story that happened during his life and he illustrates how
[12:01]we can invite people to our faith without saying a word just
[12:05]by presenting ourself through kindness and generosity there was a man who
[12:16]was in nasa now so be someone that hates like your present
[12:20]day isis and the wahhabis who hates imam he so this man
[12:26]used to always cause trouble for imam kalam anytime he would see
[12:32]him he would disrespect him he would offend him he would use
[12:34]profanity with him and insult him so his companions of the imam
[12:41]they were frustrated one day they joined together in the masjid they
[12:45]said you know what enough is enough this man has been insulting
[12:49]our imam for no reason we can't put up with this what
[12:53]should we do one of them said let's kill him let's kill
[12:55]him and get rid of him he's an enemy let's get rid
[12:59]of him so that was their idea that when you have an
[13:04]enemy how do you resolve your problem with this enemy how do
[13:06]you get rid of this enemy by killing him so they went
[13:10]to imam al-qaeda to seek permission we want to go and kill
[13:15]this evil nasal be that disrespects you all the time the imam
[13:18]right away said no no no no this is a terrible idea
[13:23]terrible idea to go and kill him you know what type of
[13:25]message that will send towards my faith and the the school of
[13:31]thought of allah anyone we don't like anyone we disagree with anyone
[13:35]that disrespects us we go and kill them no this is the
[13:40]faith of the enemies of bait not albeit they are the embodiment
[13:45]of virtue so the amount says i have a better idea what
[13:49]is it the imam said i'll take care of the next day
[13:52]the imam asks where does this man live they told him he
[13:57]has a form and the outskirts of medina so the imam he
[14:00]went on his mule on the mule and he went towards the
[14:05]form of that individual as the imam approached the farm he noticed
[14:08]the man was outside taking care of his farm so the imam
[14:14]went inside his property the man looked and he said stop don't
[14:17]come you're going to kill my grass you're going to kill my
[14:21]crops you're going to walk over them but the iran continued to
[14:23]come he was so furious he began to insult the imam look
[14:26]at what you've done now the mom hadn't done anything he was
[14:30]just being rude with the imam so the imam arrived he came
[14:33]down from his mule he looked at the man and he just
[14:37]smiled in his face you know what one smile can do brothers
[14:40]and sisters it can defuse just read about it read about the
[14:45]psychological implications of of just the smile and the benefits a smile
[14:49]they say is contagious when you're feeling bad and you want to
[14:52]frown but you see someone smiling at you that smile is contagious
[14:57]you're going to also feel inclined to smile back at that person
[15:01]so it defuses animosity this is what a smile imam smiled at
[15:06]and then the imam told him look this crop of yours that
[15:11]you claim i may have crushed or killed how much was it
[15:14]worth it says maybe 100 dinas how much did you anticipate making
[15:20]by selling this crop he said i don't know he said how
[15:25]much do you think said i hoped maybe 200 that imam took
[15:28]a bag with 300 dinars and he gave it to the man
[15:33]that used to insult him every day for no reason just because
[15:40]he has animosity this man was surprised the tsunami was stunned and
[15:47]he felt so terrible that all these days and months i have
[15:50]showed this man poison but now he is giving me this gift
[15:56]and he's smiling in my face brothers and sisters human beings when
[16:01]when you this is how we are programmed by allah when someone
[16:06]treats us with kindness we are forced we unwillingly love that individual
[16:12]that's how we human beings are even if that individual is as
[16:17]an enemy but when he starts to show you kindness you're gonna
[16:21]love that individual especially when it's sincere and genuine kindness they don't
[16:24]want anything they just want to do it because their essence is
[16:29]kind and generous so this man all of a sudden he felt
[16:34]so bad and he kissed the forehead of an imam al-kawam aliyah
[16:37]and he told them forgive me i have been so rude so
[16:41]disrespectful with you unfortunately i was brainwashed and i thought that you
[16:44]were an evil person but now i have realized that you truly
[16:50]are a man of god that you see all this poison but
[16:55]yet you give all you give back is generosity and kindness and
[17:00]virtue so the next day this enemy he turned into a friend
[17:07]all of a sudden the companions they used to gather in the
[17:10]masjid so that the imam could teach them so the companions of
[17:15]the imam al-qaeda came and they saw that this man they saw
[17:16]this man was an enemy now all of a sudden he has
[17:20]he has joined the class of animal and he is waiting for
[17:25]the imam to come so that they asked him what are you
[17:30]doing here he said i'm waiting for my master musafi they were
[17:33]so confused they went to imam they asked them what's going on
[17:39]the imam ali salaam told them i'll tell you but your mom
[17:41]sat down with them so they remember you guys said we have
[17:45]a problem we need a solution your solution was violence let's kill
[17:49]him i had a much better solution instead of killing him let's
[17:52]make him into a a friend let's make him into one of
[17:57]us so i went too many told him the story i use
[17:58]kindness i use generosity i use good words and i was able
[18:03]to transform an enemy to a friend brothers and sisters did not
[18:10]lecture that man oh man you've been brainwashed the quran speaks about
[18:14]ander bates and this verse and that verse and my grandfather imam
[18:18]ali was the rightful khalifa and his user sometimes logic just doesn't
[18:25]work with some people when they're brainwashed because there's a barrier because
[18:29]they're blind some people they're blind their hearts is blind even if
[18:33]you show them the clear proof they cannot see it because that
[18:36]animosity that they have blinds them from seeing the poo so sometimes
[18:41]you you just can't use logic and imam and calvin all he
[18:49]did was an act of kindness he went and he forgave that
[18:51]man and he showed him some nice words and smiles and that
[18:56]man transformed allahu akbar and this is exactly what the quran says
[18:59]the holy quran says any time you have a problem you have
[19:08]an enemy always use good means use nice ways use kindness and
[19:19]then all of a sudden you'll notice that enemy when you use
[19:23]these kind ways when you use kindness that enemy will transform into
[19:27]a friend what a beautiful way that the quran teaches us and
[19:31]an imam and calvin indeed shows us that this is true that
[19:34]when you use kindness with enemies this is the best way to
[19:38]attract them to your faith what a beautiful lesson is brothers and
[19:45]sisters now unfortunately we have the same problem here living in the
[19:48]us there's many people who are islamophobes but those individuals that have
[19:53]these negative sentiments towards islam most of them they're brainwashed they're not
[19:59]evil most of them have no idea what the true message of
[20:01]islam is what they see on fox news in the media they
[20:05]believe it and especially when you have fear mongers and evil individuals
[20:10]like trump who try to play on the sphere and they try
[20:13]to persuade people that islam is an evil religion islam is isis
[20:17]islam is a religion of terrorism they're going to buy this propaganda
[20:23]so with such individuals brothers and sisters we have to use the
[20:27]same ways that our imams use and that is kindness we have
[20:30]to attract them we have to dispel all these accusations and misconceptions
[20:35]not by lecturing them not by going on the pulpits of giving
[20:39]lectures for some of them yes that may help but for the
[20:43]vast majority it will be our the most important element that will
[20:47]attract people to our faith is our how we present ourselves and
[20:52]we have to learn these days brothers and sisters there was a
[20:56]story i read a couple of years ago in charlotte a bunch
[20:59]of islamophobes wanted to protest in front of a message in charlotte
[21:02]so a woman narrates her story she says i showed up on
[21:06]friday during their friday prayer holding the ban banners against islam she
[21:10]says they didn't show up it was just me i said i'm
[21:15]still gonna protest she had a microphone and gotta get out of
[21:17]our country muslims go back to your countries you terrorists you just
[21:21]do that so in the masjid the coordinators and the um the
[21:26]board of trustees they got together they said what should we do
[21:30]should we call the cops some said let's go and beat her
[21:35]up everyone gave a solution subhanallah just like the story of it
[21:37]might be government we have a problem we haven't any but there
[21:39]was a woman that was very wise and she followed the quran
[21:46]she followed the beautiful stories of anima the examples that they had
[21:52]the other imams of everybody's upset and she said don't worry i
[21:54]have the solution she went out and she began to approach and
[21:58]approach and approach that lady when she came close the lady was
[22:03]afraid she just hugged she hugged that lady she hugged that lady
[22:09]that lady she narrates her story she says as soon as that
[22:16]muslim hijabi hugged me she said subhanallah as if miraculously all that
[22:20]tension all that hatred and animosity that i had towards muslims was
[22:26]all drained out diffused it's like there was a fire who was
[22:32]put off she said i felt that this muslim is a human
[22:34]being like me she hugged me she smiled at me and then
[22:38]she told me come on inside please let's have some coffee she
[22:42]said the the banners they dropped the microphone they dropped from my
[22:46]head i could not say no remember when you show kindness to
[22:49]someone they cannot say no that's how allah created and programmed us
[22:52]she took her inside the masjid they had coffee and they began
[22:58]to speak she says ever since that day i became a friend
[23:02]of those muslims and now my job is to go and diffuse
[23:06]and dispel those misconceptions and i go to those anti-muslim rallies and
[23:11]i tell them you're wrong this is propaganda muslims have been you
[23:15]know wrongfully accused so i'm a soldier for islam now she didn't
[23:20]convert but we don't need her to convert she's an ally now
[23:23]they turned an enemy into an ally who's spending her time and
[23:27]her energy and efforts on social media and on the ground to
[23:31]dispel these misconceptions regarding muslims and always use the good ways always
[23:40]use good manners wise ways always use kindness because it's like magic
[23:46]it will turn an enemy into a friend and imam al-qaeda taught
[23:51]us that through his teachings and thus we have to follow in
[23:55]his footsteps brothers and sisters during his time he led the best
[24:03]example the most beautiful example for his companions for his shia and
[24:10]unfortunately at the price and imam al-qaeda was imprisoned for years why
[24:15]what did he was not a political man he never spoke against
[24:23]the government he never mobilized he never committed any crime do you
[24:28]know why harun al-abbasid of that time presented him because the imam
[24:33]and kalvin would shine more and more every day through his excellency
[24:37]through his character and he saw him that he he he posed
[24:45]a challenge to an imam to harun harun saw that imam ali
[24:50]was the threat to his kingdom because he is shining brighter than
[24:55]i am i should be the talk of the town i should
[24:59]be who everyone's speaking about not muslim so the best way is
[25:02]to detach him from the community is to remove him and imprison
[25:08]him for years any moment was far away from his companions in
[25:13]the dungeons of harun and abbasi this evil dictator he would be
[25:20]sent to a prison but eventually after a couple of weeks or
[25:23]months the prisoner whoever was in charge they would like imam will
[25:29]call them go they would let him relax and they would not
[25:31]you know be cruel they would be so humane with him why
[25:35]because they would see the piety they would see the worship of
[25:38]an imam and they would see that this man is a man
[25:41]of god why is haroon prison then so they would allow him
[25:47]to be comfortable where he was so halloween would find out then
[25:51]he would order him to be removed from that prison set to
[25:53]a second person same thing would happen that second prison until finally
[25:57]our own sentence the imam and sent him to the most vicious
[26:02]and cruel of the dungeons that he ran and it was under
[26:07]the authority of a thug by the name of a shahid who
[26:11]was a nasa he hated adam bait he was cruel he was
[26:16]vicious he had absolutely no mercy in his heart and he imprisoned
[26:23]al-imam al-qaeda not in a cell not in a prison like we
[26:25]imagined the steel no no he imprisoned their mothers and sister underground
[26:30]it was like a grave that only had a small window on
[26:34]top so that oxygen could enter it was like a grave it
[26:38]was a dungeon underground that they say al-imam al-qabam could not even
[26:42]tell if it was night or day because of how dark it
[26:47]was the imam could hardly breathe he would come from time to
[26:50]time to that small opening just so he can get some air
[26:53]when this vicious enemy of allah would see the imam come on
[26:58]come to breathe he would slap the iphone on his face and
[27:04]he would curse imam ali could no longer handle all this humiliation
[27:13]all this torture he went and he prayed and asked allah subhanahu
[27:17]wa ta'ala to save him i ask you to save me from
[27:35]the dungeon did not stay too longer after that because gave the
[27:43]orders to ascindi to poison alimony they gave him poison but that
[27:52]poison was a type where it slowly killed the imam with couple
[27:54]then to deflect any accusations against him that he killed an imam
[28:01]and calvin he brought some of the shia of an imam and
[28:03]calvin that same day in the dungeon so they could see their
[28:06]master and he told them look your imam is fine there's nothing
[28:10]wrong with him so if he dies it has nothing to do
[28:13]with us we're not liable the imam ali salaam was approached by
[28:17]his shia one of his companions by the name of ali abner
[28:20]told him my dear master when will you come out when when
[28:26]can we reunite with you and we can come and pray behind
[28:32]you and learn from you when will that day come rasulullah that
[28:35]we can see your holy face amongst us once again the imam
[28:40]told them soon ali told him but one give me a day
[28:46]he told them on friday on a specific bridge called jesus it
[28:49]was a bridge in baghdad you will see me there insha'allah on
[28:54]friday was happy he thought that the imam would be released on
[28:59]friday he went to the shia in baghdad and he informed them
[29:03]he brought to them the glad tidings that the imam will be
[29:07]released from prison on friday so they all came on friday waiting
[29:09]for their imam to be released but instead all of a sudden
[29:14]they saw a few of the thugs of haroon of the porters
[29:17]the soldiers they came carrying a coffin with them they came and
[29:23]they threw it on the ground and then they said this is
[29:30]the imam of the ah that day up to this day they
