Imam Al-Baqir was asked about the merit of this night. He said, “It is the most night with the most merit after the Night of Qadr. In this night, Allah grants His servants His grace and forgives them out of His bounty. Therefore, you should strive hard to draw close to Allah, the Exalted, in this night, for it is a night in which He has sworn that He will not reject anyone who asks as long as he does not ask for [something leading to] a sinful act. It is the night that Allah has chosen for us, the Ahlul Bayt, just as He has chosen the Qadr Night for our Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family). You should therefore strive hard in supplicating to Him and praising Him...” (Misbah al-Mujtahid, v. 2, p. 831)
