[0:09][Music] foreign the day of our wedding may be the happiest and
[0:37]most important day of our lives it is a day that we
[0:45]celebrate the beginning of a new era an era that the husband
[0:47]and wife come together to live happily ever after or at least
[0:50]that's what we hope it's a day that we enjoy the day
[0:55]of our wedding because we receive all the spotlight and your wedding
[1:00]everybody is looking at you everybody's talking about you you become the
[1:04]talk of the night the talk of the town the spotlight is
[1:09]yours everyone is cheering you everyone is honoring you so this is
[1:12]one night that you have out of your life where everybody is
[1:17]thinking about you and you have the spotlight so that's why it
[1:20]is natural for us to enjoy our weddings and to have weddings
[1:23]and thus it's a custom everywhere in the world from the most
[1:29]basic and underdeveloped places of the world to the most advanced and
[1:32]developed countries of the world you will find it's a custom to
[1:37]hold a wedding celebrating the marriage now the question is from an
[1:43]islamic perspective is it recommended to hold a wedding or no we
[1:49]know definitely that marriage is recommended getting married correct this is definitely
[1:55]recommended but is it also recommended to have a wedding a formal
[2:01]ceremony where i invite invite people i give them food and we
[2:06]cheer and dance and whatnot is this also recommended or not because
[2:09]now you see a new trend of some young youth who are
[2:12]getting married religious youth their faithful menin but however they have decided
[2:20]to skip having a wedding they say say it why should i
[2:23]have a wedding the point is allah wants me to get married
[2:26]so i will get married i'll go to the sayyid i'll go
[2:29]to the sheikh and i'll have my ketamiktab i'll have my nikah
[2:34]recited my akkid my milcha whatever it's called and then i am
[2:39]what i'm married this is when the official marriage begins it's after
[2:43]the question so what's the need of having a formal wedding inviting
[2:49]so many people you have to go through so much trouble and
[2:52]planning you have to spend thousands of dollars this is all unnecessary
[2:58]i have received the tawab and i have followed the sunnah of
[3:03]rasulallah by getting married so i've received what i've received the benefits
[3:07]without the burden of having a wedding so why have a wedding
[3:10]and you see many people many young individuals i have seen in
[3:15]many communities they are leaning towards this trend that get married but
[3:19]no reason to have a wedding wedding is not important for me
[3:22]it's between me and my wife and allah subhanahu ta'ala and thus
[3:27]they are skipping weddings all together so the question is islamically from
[3:33]a religious perspective should we have weddings yes or no what do
[3:38]you think na'am we have to ask the woman yeah let's ask
[3:44]the woman islamically should one have a wedding yes or no yes
[3:50]yes and he knows no knows so islamically is it recommended to
[4:00]have a wedding that formal ceremony yes or no the answer brothers
[4:05]and sisters depends it depends what type of wedding you want to
[4:08]have if the wedding that i want to have is like the
[4:13]weddings that i am seeing in our communities today most of the
[4:16]weddings then you should definitely not have a wedding skip the wedding
[4:20]altogether because not only will i tell you this listen and then
[4:24]you can judge what i'm saying not only are the weddings that
[4:29]are happening in our communities in our muslim shia communities today are
[4:33]they unrecommended but many times they are haram when you go to
[4:38]the weddings you find the laws of allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala are being
[4:43]violated left and right 95 brothers and sisters i would say of
[4:47]the weddings that i hear about or i attend which i usually
[4:51]try not to attend because of this or i see for example
[4:56]on social media 95 percent of them unfortunately even hajj the father
[5:01]is a hajj the mother is a hajjah they are believers they
[5:05]come to salat they come to the masjid but you find their
[5:09]wedding becomes a ceremony of disobeying allah every haram you imagine is
[5:16]committed in that ceremony tomorrow night i'll speak about this the haram
[5:20]that is being committed in our weddings tomorrow night wait and i'll
[5:23]explain what i mean in sha allah so the point is if
[5:26]i want to have a wedding just like everybody else's weddings today
[5:31]95 then definitely skip it because not only is it unrecommended it
[5:35]is haram because allah is being disobeyed in our weddings but however
[5:40]to put that aside in general generally speaking when we read the
[5:46]traditions of we find that it is recommended they did encourage us
[5:54]to hold weddings what do we mean by weddings by a wedding
[5:57]we mean to hold a feast and celebration of your marriage invite
[6:03]people hold a ceremony where you invite people and you feed them
[6:08]you hold the feast this is recommended by the imams of bait
[6:12]and by rasulullah now the question is why we have to understand
[6:17]the purpose of weddings brothers and sisters because now wedding is all
[6:22]about love it's just about i'm in love with some girl this
[6:24]girl is in love with this guy and i want to declare
[6:27]to the world that we are in love is this why i
[6:31]am celebrating no this is not what i'm what why i'm celebrating
[6:33]it's recommended in islam to have a wedding remember not marriage we're
[6:37]talking about the formal wedding reception ceremony four reasons number one is
[6:45]because in our weddings we are feeding other people we are providing
[6:51]food for other people and this is highly recommended in islam to
[6:55]feed other people to give to invite other people for a meal
[7:00]is highly recommended let me mention three sets of a hadith the
[7:03]first set of ahadith are the traditions that tell us allah loves
[7:07]when we feed other individuals one hadith from imam al-baqar says loves
[7:17]when you feed other people when you invite them for a meal
[7:22]iraq means when you slaughter an animal give them meat that means
[7:25]when you invite them over don't give them falafel give them meat
[7:28]give them give them whoever feeds one allah will feed you from
[7:50]the fruits and the foods of al-jannah so this is one set
[7:54]of hadith allah loves it that when we hold feasts we invite
[7:58]other people to eat this is number one number two the second
[8:01]benefit of holding a feast and inviting people to eat is that
[8:06]when you feed other people allah forgives your sins listen to this
[8:09]hadith from rasulullah the holy prophet says one of the factors one
[8:21]of the acts that will entitle you that will make you earn
[8:24]the rahmah of allah the forgiveness of allah is if i have
[8:31]committed sins and i feel bad and i feel my sins have
[8:35]burdened my back one good way to repent is to give food
[8:37]to people allah subhanahu ta'ala will forgive you because you are feeding
[8:43]other individuals another hadith from imam sadiq says whoever feeds three people
[8:52]from the muslims allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will forgive your sins imagine
[8:56]just three so in your wedding if you've invited 30 you can
[8:59]imagine how much rahman you receive from allah if you have invited
[9:03]200 300 the more you invite the more the rahm is because
[9:05]you're feeding more people so this is number two that allah forgives
[9:09]your sins by feeding other individuals number three the third benefit of
[9:16]feeding others is that allah increases your risk you see when you're
[9:22]spending thousand five thousand on my wedding i'm feeding other people you
[9:24]think this is a loss the prophet and the imams tell us
[9:29]don't look at it as a loss because allah will quickly reimburse
[9:31]you when you spend money feeding other people this is not a
[9:35]loss allah will quickly reimburse you listen to this hadith he says
[9:52]he says that when you feed other individuals will come to you
[10:00]faster than the knife can do its job you know the knife
[10:03]when it slaughters the animal it's done within seconds the prophet says
[10:07]that when you kill that animal you slaughter it and you feed
[10:10]allah will bring you the faster than it takes for you to
[10:13]slaughter the animal so this is what this is a metaphor he's
[10:17]telling us that allah will reimburse you now i know what some
[10:21]of you are thinking all these hadith are speaking about feeding a
[10:26]poor person if i invite 200 300 homeless people poor people who
[10:33]cannot afford to eat of course all of this will apply but
[10:37]what if i'm inviting people who don't need food my wedding i
[10:42]have to invite my family and friends most of them they're wealthy
[10:45]most of them middle class they're well off us on some of
[10:50]them they're wealthier than me some of them are millionaires so will
[10:52]i still get all those benefits of the people that come to
[10:56]my wedding and eat the food they're rich they're wealthy they don't
[10:59]need the food yes definitely one hundred percent why listen to this
[11:03]hadith a man by the name of abu mu'awiyah he asks about
[11:11]feeding other people the imam tells him listen carefully brothers and sisters
[11:24]he says whoever feeds another mothman means a believer whoever feeds another
[11:30]believer whether that believer is sir means he is poor mooser means
[11:39]he's rich whoever feeds another believer it doesn't matter how much money
[11:44]he has in his account it doesn't matter how wealthy he is
[11:48]that doesn't matter it says [Music] of freeing a slave you know
[12:03]one of the best acts that the imams would encourage people to
[12:05]do is to buy a slave and free him because they want
[12:09]to end that slavery so this would be one of the best
[12:10]acts that you can do a slave is expensive so it's like
[12:14]you go and you buy a brand new car and then you
[12:16]just donate it slave was expensive so this was one of the
[12:19]best acts to buy a slave and free him al-imam says if
[12:24]you feed one person you invite him for a meal whether that
[12:28]person is rich or poor allah will give you the thawab of
[12:32]freeing a slave now you may say why it's obvious brothers and
[12:37]sisters it's not because you just want that person to eat when
[12:41]you invite someone over for a meal whether it's in your house
[12:45]whether it's in your wedding you are showing the love to that
[12:47]person i said look every night we have iftar here is anyone
[12:50]here homeless as anyone here poor is anyone here coming to eat
[12:54]because they don't have food no asan i guarantee you some of
[12:59]the people that come and eat here they have better food in
[13:01]their houses but why do we come and we eat here we
[13:04]come to show the love we come to show the community so
[13:06]when allah wants you to feed other people invite them for a
[13:11]feast it's because you're showing that you love that person you care
[13:14]for that person that i invited you i know you don't need
[13:15]my meal i know you can have and find better food in
[13:20]your house but by inviting you for this feast this is a
[13:23]sign of respect that i love you that i care and this
[13:27]creates love in the community when we do this so this is
[13:31]number one why you should hold the wedding it's because you're feeding
[13:35]other people in the feast and this is highly recommended in islam
[13:39]number two the second reason why it's recommended to hold a wedding
[13:45]is by having a wedding ceremony you are instilling happiness in the
[13:50]hearts of people you see many people not everyone yes i know
[13:54]some people they hate going to weddings but most people they love
[13:59]going to weddings why because they can meet their friends they can
[14:02]you know try out new dresses for the sisters they can come
[14:06]and eat good food they can come and have fun it's a
[14:10]time to come and have fun and enjoy so many people when
[14:12]they're invited to go to a wedding that truly you know brings
[14:16]joy to their heart that they can come and be a part
[14:20]of this celebration the hadith of imam al-bakr says you want to
[14:28]do a kind act that allah loves make someone happy however it
[14:34]may be make someone happy allah subhanahu wa loves the act so
[14:38]when i hold the wedding i know that i'm making people happy
[14:42]by inviting them sending them an invitation and asking them to come
[14:45]and be a part of my celebration i am definitely instilling happiness
[14:50]in the hearts of people that's why it's recommended so once again
[14:53]it's not just because love i'm i'm celebrating my love no it's
[14:56]about the community feed the community show them the love instill the
[15:02]happiness in their hearts this is number two number three one of
[15:06]the most important aspects of a wedding and that's why islam recommends
[15:11]it is because it shows the unity of the community you see
[15:15]one family is celebrating do they celebrate by themselves no the entire
[15:20]community comes to celebrate with them what is the show this shows
[15:25]that this community is together this softens the hearts this brings the
[15:29]hearts closer together that when one family is rejoicing we all rejoice
[15:33]with them it's just like why do we attend why do we
[15:37]attend when someone dies because we want to show that person that
[15:40]we're one community we're like one big family we are here to
[15:46]console you when you are sad and we are here to celebrate
[15:48]when you are happy so this shows the strength of the community
[15:51]that for one person's happiness everyone is happy isn't this beautiful the
[15:57]unity and in fact this is why the day of eid filter
[16:01]is a day as a holiday why is eid al-fitra a holiday
[16:05]is it just because we can eat some people they're happy because
[16:07]finally they can have breakfast they can have lunch this is not
[16:10]why it's a day of holiday this is not why it's a
[16:14]day of celebration al-imam says in one hadith that the day of
[16:18]eid al-fitr is a day of celebration because the muslims gather unite
[16:22]and show their unity listen to this hadith says the day of
[16:31]meaning the first day of shawwal it's a day of eid it's
[16:36]a holiday it's a celebration why not so that the muslims they
[16:43]can come and show their unity together so that they can show
[16:46]that they are one strong community you see islam cares about communal
[16:51]worship islam doesn't want you just to stay in your house and
[16:55]worship allah allah by yourself come together in the masjid and worship
[17:00]allah you saddering how beautifully we say and we recited joshua you
[17:04]can recite aya joshua in your house correct but allah also wants
[17:10]the worship sometimes to be communal together that's why salat al-jamaa is
[17:15]so recommended why i can pray in my house salat al-jama is
[17:19]unbelievable because allah wants the community to worship together he wants the
[17:24]bond of brotherhood and the community to be strong don't just live
[17:27]in your house in your room worship allah subhanahu ta'ala the whole
[17:31]day when you do that first of all you're going to be
[17:33]disconnected from the community you won't know who's sick you won't know
[17:36]who's tired you don't know who you know what the community is
[17:41]going through and the bond between you and other people starts to
[17:44]dissolve so when you attend the wedding brothers and sisters one of
[17:47]the purposes is that the community stays united you get to meet
[17:53]other people you get to make friendships and that brotherhood is definitely
[17:57]made stronger so this is the third reason why it's recommended to
[18:01]hold a wedding in islam for the unity so that the community
[18:06]can join and celebrate together and finally and most importantly why it's
[18:10]recommended to hold a wedding is because it's the sunnah of rasulullah
[18:14]rasulullah encouraged it and he not only encouraged and he would hold
[18:20]weddings listen to this hadith from rasulullah it's very interesting it sound
[18:24]it sounds like a riddle listen to it the prophet is narrated
[18:31]saying [Music] it is recommended to hold a walima walima means a
[18:37]feast in five occasions even though he says what he means this
[18:42]is recommended other things it's not haram but it's not as recommended
[18:45]as this five times it's recommended to hold a walima a feast
[18:49]invite people and hold a feast he says what does this mean
[18:59]it's kind of like a riddle or sin everybody knows the first
[19:05]time that it's recommended to hold a walima a feast celebrate is
[19:09]marriage which is the wedding so this is the hadith of rasulullah
[19:12]number two he says in what is anyone know naam asant when
[19:20]you have a new child when a new child is born it
[19:25]is recommended to hold a walima to invite people over and to
[19:30]celebrate the fact that allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has given you a
[19:33]child this is the hadith of rasulullah number three he says if
[19:41]it's a boy when the boy is circumcised the prophet says it
[19:47]is recommended to hold a walib now it is recommended to have
[19:50]the boy circumcised on the seventh day this is just a recommendation
[19:53]many parents they just do it in the hospital the first or
[19:58]second day so if you hold the walima for the child being
[20:00]born you can intend it two in one i am holding the
[20:05]walima for the birth and for the for their circumcision this is
[20:11]number three number four the prophet said what is anyone can guess
[20:18]recall is when you buy a new home and you move to
[20:22]a new home it is recommended to hold a walima invite people
[20:27]over and give them food this is number four and finally number
[20:32]five what is i don't think anyone will guess this recast is
[20:36]if you come back from hajj and some have said also if
[20:40]you come back from hajj thank allah appreciate the fact that allah
[20:46]gave you this opportunity by holding holding a feast inviting people over
[20:49]celebrating the fact that you went to hajj so rasulullah he says
[20:55]it is recommended to hold a walima for earth for a marriage
[21:00]this is the hadith of the prophet and likewise rasoon allah himself
[21:03]when he would get married he would hold a wedding by winning
[21:06]we mean a feast you invite people over because tomorrow i'll speak
[21:10]about what our weddings have become today how un-islamic they have become
[21:14]this is not the wedding that rasulullah is talking about the wedding
[21:20]of rasulallah was that people come over and they have a feast
[21:23]and celebrate and go back home i found two ahadith speaking about
[21:30]how rasulullah used to give a feast invite people over when he
[21:35]would get married one hadith is narrated from ali says that one
[21:40]of the wives of rasulullah was by the name of om habib
[21:45]now was her name according to this hadith amina or was her
[21:48]name ramallah the point is um habiba was the daughter of abu
[21:54]sufyan um habiba lived in ethiopia in habasha because her husband obeyed
[21:58]allah was amongst the muslims that had to migrate they had to
[22:02]flee mecca because they were under persecution he went with jaffa prayer
[22:07]to habasha because the king of habasha was a just king and
[22:12]najashi and najashi eventually became muslim the king of ethiopia he became
[22:19]muslim the husband of omaha biba one narration says he died so
[22:24]now she's a widow another narration says he became a morted he
[22:27]became a christian so now that he became a mortal he apostasized
[22:31]the marriage ended when the husband apostasizes khalas the marriage automatically ends
[22:37]so now she's left without a husband who comes to propose to
[22:41]her rasulullah sends a request to whom to the king of al-habash
[22:46]and he proposes um habiba from him now this was just respect
[22:51]or else he didn't have to the the king of al-habasha was
[22:57]not the wali of um but out of respect he asked him
[23:00]to facilitate the marriage and indeed this is how the marriage happened
[23:03]and najashi he was the one that went to um and he
[23:08]told the rasulullah who wants to marry you and rasulullah married um
[23:15]rasulullah then he held a feast and he gave food to the
[23:22]people and this is what's the customs and habits of the mursalien
[23:32]of the messengers of allah as that they hold a feast at
[23:38]am when there is a marriage when your son when your daughter
[23:40]or when you get married hold a feast so this is from
[23:43]the sunnah of the messengers of allah subhana ta'ala this is with
[23:48]his wife um there's another hadith where an imam assad speaks about
[23:53]another one of the marriages of rasulullah and that was to me
[24:00]was another one of the wives of rasulallah he invited people so
[24:16]that they can have food honoring the marriage of rasulullah and likewise
[24:23]when imam ali alayhi married fatima to zahra there are reports that
[24:27]rasulallah held a walima he had certain animals slaughtered and the people
[24:31]of medina were fed and there are traditions from the imam interestingly
[24:36]where they say it's even recommended to hold the walima for two
[24:39]days not just once if you want to have a wedding or
[24:44]invite people for food walima first day is recommended and even a
[24:47]second day is recommended if there is no space or if you
[24:52]have the means the financial means to even feed more people to
[24:54]invite more people then hold the wedding for two days this is
[25:00]mentioned in the hadith now once again brothers and sisters when we
[25:06]are inviting people to come and celebrate we are not just celebrating
[25:13]love because in the american culture the wedding is all about the
[25:17]love relationship between the husband and wife they invite everyone to come
[25:22]and attend so that they can witness the love so that they
[25:27]can declare their love to everyone that's there in islam this is
[25:30]not why we have a wedding you want to love your wife
[25:33]you love her privately you don't have to come out and tell
[25:37]the whole world that i love you until death do us part
[25:40]and whatever all of this do this privately in fact sometimes it
[25:43]could be against the modesty of the husband and the wife to
[25:47]you know be so public about their uh you know about their
[25:52]love and their intimate love to the entire world so marriage when
[25:56]we come to celebrate we're not just celebrating the love brothers and
[25:59]sisters the love can be celebrated privately in islam we are celebrating
[26:04]for four reasons listen what am i celebrating we said it's recommended
[26:10]for four reasons but what am i the husband celebrating we are
[26:14]celebrating four things brothers and sisters number one the first reason why
[26:17]we celebrate in our wedding and we are happy is because i
[26:23]am celebrating the fact that i have completed half of my faith
[26:26]that's why i'm happy on my wedding day half of my faith
[26:31]is completed shouldn't i be happy shouldn't i celebrate listen to the
[26:35]hadith of rasulullah he is narrated saying man whoever marries then half
[26:44]of his religion is complete the other half is taqwa to be
[26:51]god conscious of allah wa ta'ala to stay away from halam so
[26:55]by getting married half of your deen is completed isn't this an
[26:58]occasion to celebrate imagine that you have for example finished half of
[27:01]law school half of med school you're happy alhamdulillah 50 of the
[27:05]work is done so by getting married you celebrate not just because
[27:10]of the love and the intimacy that relationship between me and mine
[27:13]it's more than that it's a relationship between you and allah azzawajal
[27:17]now your relationship with allah is fifty percent complete now why is
[27:23]it brothers and sisters that when we get married fifty percent of
[27:28]our faith is completed fifty percent just saying kabil two zawashta kenobi
[27:36]why my analysis brothers and sisters on this hadith is this that
[27:43]we human beings the two most common sins that we perform are
[27:48]with our tongues and through the intimate desire such that the hadith
[27:56]of the prophet says listen carefully brother sisters the prophet says if
[28:06]you guard two things in your life i guarantee you jannah paradise
[28:10]but you have to guard two things number one your tongue guard
[28:15]your tongue from haram and number two guard your chastity the desire
[28:22]the intimate desire if you can guard these two things from haram
[28:27]then i will guarantee you paradise why is the prophet saying that
[28:32]the prophet is telling us that most of the sins that we
[28:34]do are these two desires these two ways the the tongue and
[28:38]the intimate desire if you can guard these two khalas until you're
[28:41]a moment you don't have to worry about sins when we get
[28:44]married we're taking care of one of it that desire i know
[28:50]now i will not commit haram or at least i shouldn't commit
[28:51]i have no excuse to come now because i have what i
[28:58]have guarded that desire i have guarded my chastity the prophet says
[29:02]now you just have the other half what's the other half your
[29:07]tongue beware of your tongue don't hurt other people's feelings don't back
[29:11]by iriba don't lie don't do namima don't cause fitna we commit
[29:14]so much sins with our tongue such that hadith of the prophet
[29:18]he says most people go to hell because of their sin because
[29:22]of their tongue because they can't control their tongue the fitna and
[29:25]the problems that they cause because of their tongue so by getting
[29:28]married you are completing half of your faith and this is why
[29:32]i'm celebrating this is number one number two when i hold a
[29:36]wedding a ceremony i'm happy i'm celebrating i am celebrating the fact
[29:42]that my actions and deeds are more worthy in the eyes of
[29:45]allah now you know the prophet when he spoke about ramadan one
[29:49]of the beauties of the of ramadan he said woman if you
[30:00]pray in ramadan allah will give you the thawab of 70 prayers
[30:04]in another month so your are when ramadan finishes it goes back
[30:12]to the normal the normal count unless you are married the hadith
[30:17]tell us if you are married allah will keep that 70 times
[30:21]multiplier throughout your life listen to the hadith he says that a
[30:35]bachelor a single person prays equals that a married person prays equals
[30:41]seventy times or seventy raka's of someone who is single two people
[30:47]are praying in the masjid one is married the other is not
[30:50]married the one who is married allah has counting yet times 70.
[30:53]isn't this beautiful how allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gives you this this
[30:58]you know this easy way to accumulate more deeds your actions are
[31:01]more worthy in the eyes of allah so on the day of
[31:05]my wedding this is why i should be happy because after my
[31:10]wedding i will go and pray salah in sha allah i don't
[31:14]skip it after my wedding day finally now my salah is 70
[31:17]times more worthy in the eyes of allah my salat isn't this
[31:22]something beautiful to celebrate change your perspective brothers and sisters islam is
[31:28]not against enjoying having fun bringing other people to celebrate giving them
[31:33]food but you have to change your perspective look at it from
[31:36]this way and allah subhanahu ta'ala will give you thawab for holding
[31:42]the wedding instead of it's being a place of haram as i
[31:44]will speak tomorrow how our weddings are a way in which we
[31:48]disobey allah subhanahu ta'ala so this is number two number one we
[31:50]said why are we celebrating our weddings why am i so happy
[31:53]as the husband as the wife number one we said because half
[31:57]of my faith is completed number two because our moral supplied by
[32:03]70.
[32:01]number three brothers and sisters is by getting married i am celebrating
[32:07]the fact that i have found peace in my life you see
[32:12]the quran when speaks about marriage it speaks about marriage and allah
[32:16]speaks about it as if it is rest and peace for you
[32:20]listen to this ayah allah says and amongst the signs of allah
[32:30]as allah created mates for you he created mates from you from
[32:34]yourselves so that you get married and that you find rest in
[32:43]them means rest means tranquility means peace a devout wife is a
[32:47]wife that brings you peace brothers and sisters comfort a devout husband
[32:50]a virtuous husband is the one that consoles the wife they live
[32:56]in peace together this is a true marriage that islam encourages us
[33:00]and listen to this hadith of rasulallah he says the best thing
[33:12]allah can give you after iman after islam is a good wife
[33:17]or even we can say even a good husband not only is
[33:22]she good she comforts me but even when i look at her
[33:26]subhanallah i forget all of my all of my agony muhammad s
[33:58]the prophet says that a virtuous spouse is the one that even
[34:03]when you look at her or look at him you forget your
[34:07]agony you forget your stress because you know you you come with
[34:09]so much stress at work from wherever you are you come to
[34:13]the house and you're greeted by your wife by your husband and
[34:15]you forget all of your stress correct no la why not this
[34:21]is how this is how you know our communities should be that
[34:24]when you go to your spouse your spouse allows you to forget
[34:28]all of your stress just the look the prophet says the prophet
[34:33]says to s this is how i know if i married the
[34:36]right person remember we said sometimes we fall in love it's love
[34:41]that blinds us and then a couple of months down it's all
[34:43]stress many people their marriages become a source of stress and islam
[34:49]the quran says marriage should be a source of relieving your stress
[34:52]not a source of stress this has showed how far we have
[34:55]become from the true marriage of islam brothers and sisters the idea
[35:00]of islam the idea of marriage that allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has
[35:03]taught us in the quran and we are as far as possible
[35:07]and one reason i'll speak about tonight tomorrow night brothers and sisters
[35:10]is because we begin our weddings with al-haram we're not concerned about
[35:14]allah and this is why our marriages is all filled with stress
[35:17]and this is how the marriage of ali was with fatima you
[35:23]know this is a famous hadith after fatima died he said this
[35:30]very beautiful line about her whoever can say this about his wife
[35:34]whichever lady can say this about her husband you are the luckiest
[35:37]person you should be so content he said i come with stress
[35:49]i'm tired what the people would do to me all the words
[35:53]he would hear he says one look at the face of fatima
[35:55]and i would forget all my stress i would forget all my
[36:00]agony i would forget all the trouble how many of us is
[36:02]that lucky to be in a marriage like that this is the
[36:07]marriage brothers and sisters that the quran speaks about it is what
[36:12]is rest is peace is tranquility so when i am celebrating in
[36:17]my wedding it's not just because of love it's all of these
[36:20]reasons there are things that are much greater than love you want
[36:25]that peace and and tranquility and that rest you want it long
[36:29]term and finally brothers and sisters most importantly in your wedding you
[36:32]are celebrating the fact that you can finally file your taxes married
[36:36]and pay less taxes for some people of course i'm joking not
[36:40]an islam but for some yes there are financial incentives to get
[36:46]married in sha allah tomorrow night i will continue and i will
[36:51]speak about the problems of our present day and if i want
[36:55]to have a wedding brothers and sisters we have to change our
[36:59]habits we cannot continue in this way brothers and sisters our weddings
[37:02]are riddled with halam riddled with disobedience of allah subhanahu ta'ala i
[37:07]will speak about that tomorrow in sha'a llah i don't think they
[37:15]say let's ask allah subhanahu ta'ala raise our hands and ask allah
[37:18]to forgive us a
