[6:10]in regards to tonight's topic our topic will be islam's take on

[6:15]alcohol and i would like to i would like to welcome our

[6:24]dear saiyad ahmed khazrini to the stage with allah muhammad yeah thank

[7:01]you thank you for attending this cold night with all of the

[7:55]news that is spreading and with the current situation of covet getting

[7:59]worse and worse thank you for all having the will to come

[8:08]and attend and may allah all protect you and bless us all

[8:12]inshaallah to allah allah subhanahu ta'ala has given us immunity he's given

[8:25]us physical immunity for our bodies and it is our immune system

[8:34]that prevents us from getting sick it prevents us from bacterias viruses

[8:46]germs from taking over your body and harming you now what makes

[8:56]up your physical immune system does anyone know has anyone studied this

[9:04]in school what is our immune system made up of ascent white

[9:08]blood cells allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gave us white blood cells so

[9:13]they can fight to protect us so when there is an external

[9:23]invader an enemy a virus is an enemy germs bacterias sicknesses they're

[9:29]all enemies that try to destroy you allah equipped us with white

[9:32]blood cells so that we can fight against those external enemies and

[9:37]how important this is this topic today right with covet spreading everywhere

[9:43]and one of the things that it does is attacks your immune

[9:47]system it it you know you need a strong immune system in

[9:49]order to fight covet the coronavirus so allah subhanahu ta'ala gave us

[9:58]a physical immune system to protect us from dangers from viruses and

[10:04]sicknesses at the same time that we have a body we also

[10:09]have a soul our soul can also face certain viruses and sicknesses

[10:16]what are the viruses and sicknesses of the soul number one sins

[10:21]and number two vice vice for example arrogance selfishness you have other

[10:30]examples such as greed envy all of these vices of the soul

[10:48]are sicknesses and diseases and also sinning when we sin this is

[10:52]also a virus a sickness that destroys our soul now in the

[10:57]same way that allah subhanahu ta'ala gave us a physical immune system

[11:01]which we said is the white blood cells to protect us from

[11:08]certain dangerous viruses allah also gave us a spiritual immune system so

[11:15]that you don't sin so that you can get rid of the

[11:19]vices if you have any problems with your character if you have

[11:23]any bad habits bad personalities and traits this immune system the spiritual

[11:32]immune system will protect you now what is that spiritual immune system

[11:37]the physical we said is the white blood cells what has allah

[11:40]equipped us with that prevents us from our souls that protects our

[11:49]souls from getting damaged and harmed allah gave us three elements that

[11:55]form your spiritual immune system number one the first element that protects

[12:03]you from sins and vice is the intellect gave us the intellect

[12:13]he gave us and one of the jobs one of the purposes

[12:15]of the akal is to protect you from sinning protect you from

[12:22]the spiritual vices that afflict us human beings it is the akan

[12:26]and it is through the intellect that we are able to tell

[12:30]the difference between right and wrong how do we know what's right

[12:36]and wrong we go and ask our parents no you're going to

[12:39]have to call the sheikh every couple of minutes the sayyid the

[12:42]mawlana and ask him no you have a sheikh right there you

[13:24]you know that because your intellect tells you that helping other people

[13:28]helping poor individuals if you see a young child who's an orphan

[13:32]you go and you show generosity and kindness to that does someone

[13:36]have to tell you that this is a good thing no even

[13:39]if there's no verse in the quran that tells you that you

[13:42]know that by nature because you have the and allah says and

[13:56]he equipped the naps with the ability to know and distinguish between

[14:01]right and wrong and that's why on the day of judgment we

[14:05]can't say well i didn't know allah says what about the i

[14:09]gave you the i gave you the intellect and the intellect tells

[15:03]makes you feel guilty to protect you it's like the immune system

[15:06]right it's like they say when you have a fever you know

[15:09]you're sick go to the doctor same thing when you feel guilty

[15:13]you know you've done something wrong it's allah subhanahu wa ta'ala's immune

[15:17]system for you to stay on the right track and that's why

[15:23]we have a hadith that tell us allah the first thing that

[15:27]he created was the akan he created the intellect he created it

[15:32]before anything else and then he said he spoke to the intellect

[15:38]and he told the intellect that i love you more than anything

[15:44]and i will reward and people based on you and the more

[15:49]intellect allah gives you the more strict your test will be right

[15:53]the less intellect you have been given the more easy and lenient

[16:00]allah will be was with us if he gives you the akal

[16:05]he expects you to follow it so this is the first part

[16:10]of the spiritual immune system that allah has given us the second

[16:14]element of the spiritual immune system that keeps us in check is

[16:20]what they call el haya is a feeling when you feel ashamed

[16:26]when you feel that shame and embarrassment for doing something wrong this

[16:32]is what they call haya also protects you from committing certain mistakes

[16:37]certain sins certain crimes and this is a step further higher because

[16:44]just tells you you know that it is bad to do this

[16:51]right it's just knowledge is a feeling you don't just know it

[16:54]you can feel the shame right when we're embarrassed it's not that

[16:59]i just know something no i can feel the embarrassment i can

[17:03]feel the shame for doing something wrong so when you do something

[17:08]wrong why do you feel shame has given us so that we

[17:12]stay away from certain mistakes and that's why you see for example

[17:18]one of the driving one of the motivators to wearing hijab you

[17:23]know when we speak about modesty modesty you can speak about it

[17:28]from the angle of the intellect tells you that modesty is good

[17:35]but then again a human being that hasn't been distorted whose principles

[17:40]and values have not been distorted by the society can feel why

[18:26]now unfortunately in the western societies the concept of shame it is

[18:35]deteriorating every year more and more less you find every single year

[18:39]and that's why when you explain to them the notion of hijab

[18:41]they don't understand it well no i don't feel like there's anything

[18:49]that fact there is still some and that's why even here in

[19:03]naked until you know it's embarrassing right it's a shameful act so

[19:08]there is some shame that shame is what's left from what allah

[19:12]has given us as a spiritual immune system to prevent us from

[19:17]going astray so this is number two the second layer of immunity

[19:24]and finally number three the third layer of immunity that allah has

[19:31]given us is what faith religion religion my friends is also a

[19:38]way in which we protect ourselves from sins when you fear god

[19:44]you've refrained from certain actions if i truly fear god then i

[19:50]won't disobey him right how can you disobey someone if you fear

[19:56]him you're not going to disobey someone if you fear him if

[19:59]you don't fear him then you're going to disobey him why do

[20:03]we not disobey the law why because we're afraid of cops right

[20:09]why don't i drive 80 miles an hour on ford road i

[20:11]have a nice car i want to get home sooner why don't

[20:15]i do that you have the intellect tells you well it's dangerous

[20:20]right and the intellect tells you if you do that you're gonna

[20:25]get a ticket you're afraid to break the law in the same

[20:29]way that you're afraid to break the law of human beings i

[20:33]should be afraid to break god's law so this fear that i

[20:38]have from god should be a deterrent that prevents me from committing

[20:45]sins why shouldn't i commit sins because i fear allah so you

[20:49]see it's another layer of deterrent it's another layer of the immune

[20:53]system because some people will say i don't care about my appen

[20:57]i want to cheat and lie and steal other people's money who

[20:59]cares what the intellect is telling me why should i listen to

[21:03]my intellect who's my intellect right and i have no shame but

[21:09]there is allah and then there is the day of judgment where

[21:11]allah will try me for all my sins and he will hold

[21:15]me accountable so i will say wait a minute i will think

[21:18]twice before i hurt other people before i backbite before i steal

[21:22]before i infringe on other people's rights so this fear of god

[21:27]which is faith my faith in god my belief in allah is

[21:33]also a deterrent that prevents me from sinning and oppressing other human

[21:39]beings there is a hadith from imam al-hasan where a man came

[21:42]to him and he told them there's a lot of people that

[21:46]come and propose to my daughter tell me give me some guidelines

[21:50]on who to choose should i choose the wealthiest one should i

[21:55]choose the wisest one which one should i choose there's many which

[21:58]one should i you know tell my daughter to marry and she'll

[22:01]listen to me he tells him one word he tells him he

[22:08]says make sure that whoever your daughter marries he is someone that

[22:13]has piety taqwa piety means fear of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala why

[22:18]you may say who cares about piety in marriage right a pious

[22:23]person a righteous person as someone that prays the whole day he

[22:27]prays salat he goes to the masjid how is that going to

[22:33]benefit his wife how is that going to benefit the guy's daughter

[22:38]if his son-in-law is praised the whole day who cares he wants

[22:40]someone that loves her that you know spends on her that takes

[22:44]her on vacations right this is what a girl wants so what

[22:49]if her husband spends the whole day praying how is that going

[22:52]to help her no the imam tells him yes that will help

[22:54]her he says you see the imam says it's one of two

[23:07]if your daughter marries a pious man someone that fears god there's

[23:11]only one of two scenarios one of two options or possibilities he

[23:17]says number one that your son-in-law loves your daughter he loves his

[23:23]wife if he loves her then he will love her and respect

[23:27]her and protect her because his love for her will motivate him

[23:30]to protect her right but what if he doesn't love her but

[23:34]if he marries her and then he finds someone else and then

[23:38]he finds someone else that's more beautiful that is more that he's

[23:44]more interested and he forgets about his wife what prevents him from

[23:49]oppressing her neglecting her or abusing her in this situation his money

[23:53]his wealth i don't think so the law sometimes you can get

[23:57]around the law can't you bring first of all there's no witnesses

[24:01]number two even if there is a you know if she files

[24:06]a lawsuit he can bring the best uh he can bring the

[24:12]best attorney and uh they'll fight for him and they'll prove that

[24:15]he's innocent right so what protects your daughter if her husband doesn't

[24:21]love her the imam says the only thing is is fear of

[24:25]god you can never fool god you can fool the judge you

[24:28]can fool the courts you can fool everyone in this world but

[24:31]can you fool god so if he fears god his fear of

[24:36]god will prevent him from abusing her even if he doesn't love

[24:39]her and he can care less about her he will not abuse

[24:43]her not because he loves her but because he fears allah subhanahu

[24:46]wa ta'ala so that's why it's the best criteria to look for

[24:50]in your husband because you know if he truly fears god he

[24:53]will never oppress her and abuse her there is no other way

[24:58]brothers and sisters to guarantee a man will not abuse his wife

[25:00]there is no guarantee i don't care how large the mahara the

[25:03]dowry is even if it's a million dollars he can still get

[25:08]away with abusing her he'll force her to decline it to um

[25:12]relentless it and and surrender the mahar the only way that a

[25:18]a woman can can you know hundred percent guarantee that he won't

[25:21]oppressors if he fears god because you can never fool god allah

[25:25]is watching him 24 7.

[25:26]so the idea that imam al-hasan is saying is that when you

[25:31]fear allah you behave you behave so our fear of god is

[25:34]one of the extra layers that gives us spiritual immunity why don't

[25:39]i go in sin why don't i go and steal people's money

[25:42]if i can i know how to you know fraud other people

[25:45]and cheat them because god is watching he's going to hold me

[25:50]accountable so our faith and our fear of god brothers and sisters

[25:52]it's a deterrent that keeps me behaving and there's a hadith that

[26:01]speaks about these three layers of immunity remember number one we said

[26:04]it's the intellect number two it's shame and number three is what

[26:08]faith our fear of god there's a hadith that speaks about this

[26:11]the hadith says that jibrael the angel he was sent by god

[26:17]to prophet adam when god created adam he sent jibrael with a

[26:22]message to adam so jibrael came to prophet adam and he told

[26:26]them oh adam allah has asked me to ask you this question

[26:30]i will present you with three things you can only choose one

[26:36]of them so choose wisely so adam says what are the three

[26:40]things he says god says choose one of these three number one

[26:42]intellect god will give you intellect if you want number two shame

[26:47]allah will give you and number three dean which is faith religion

[26:54]and piety you can only choose one of these three if i

[26:59]asked you you can only choose one of these these three and

[27:01]you can't have the other two what would you say you can

[27:05]only choose one faith shame or intellect which one you would you

[27:10]choose now it's a tough question right because you want all three

[27:13]of them so look at what adam did adam he adam he

[27:19]thought which one should i choose in the end he chose to

[27:25]have akal intellect he said you know what i want it's the

[27:28]most important one so jabra said fine you will have atal and

[27:31]then he ordered shame now it's symbolic of course he ordered shame

[27:36]and faith religion to go away but they resisted they said we're

[27:42]not leaving so jabra it asked them why don't you leave they

[27:45]said because god ordered us to always be with the intellect we

[27:50]can never leave the intellect so basically if you have the intellect

[27:53]you get two free things with it faith and shame because the

[27:59]intellect teaches you to have shame the intellect teaches you to fear

[28:04]allah to believe in allah and that's why in one hadith he

[28:10]defines the intellect as what leads you to god if you truly

[28:17]listen to your intellect your intellect will tell you to obey god

[28:20]because he's your creator he's your sustainer if someone created you he

[28:25]sustains you he gives you everything then he deserves to be obeyed

[28:32]right it would be very rude for me to disobey my creator

[28:34]and my sustainer so your intellect tells you to obey god so

[28:38]if you have the intellect everything else comes with it so once

[28:43]again brothers and sisters three layers of immunity they protect us from

[28:49]committing haram from committing crimes from infringing on other people's rights from

[28:55]acting immoral and unethical this is our spiritual immune system a very

[29:14]very powerful word we read the aquaman every week but sometimes we

[29:17]don't know what we're reading in one of the passages says forgive

[29:30]me now imam ali when he says forgive me he's not speaking

[29:34]about himself he's teaching us how to speak with god because imam

[29:38]ali is infallible he never committed sins and that's why he's narrated

[29:59]never commits a sin but he teaches us so imam ali says

[30:05]in this passage he says oh allah protect me from those sins

[30:08]that break my immunity that destroy my immunity my spiritual immunity there

[30:16]are sins brothers and sisters that damage the spiritual immunity and the

[30:22]same way that there are sicknesses physical sicknesses that destroy your physical

[30:28]immunity like what like for example they say hiv what does it

[30:33]do it goes after your immune system right it destroys your immune

[30:37]system it leaves you without any cover without any protection so the

[30:42]smallest bacteria will kill you that's how people that have hiv die

[30:47]it's not directly through hiv hiv doesn't kill you it kills your

[30:51]immune system it leaves you without that shield and protection so this

[30:54]smallest amount of germs viruses and and bacteria will kill you imam

[31:00]ali says there are some sins exactly like hiv when you commit

[31:04]them you think it's just one innocent sin but in reality what

[31:08]the sin has done is that it has destroyed your spiritual immune

[31:13]system leaving you vulnerable to all other sins what are these sins

[31:21]that imam ali speaking about there's a few of them but the

[31:23]sin that i want to speak about in the remaining minutes is

[31:27]what ties to our topic tonight now i know i took a

[31:29]very long time this was all you know an introduction to our

[31:32]lecture but i want you to understand the harms of drinking alcohol

[31:38]brothers and sisters there are sins that destroy your spiritual immunity in

[31:51]one tradition he speaks about this he says one of the sins

[32:01]that destroy your spiritual immunity is when we drink alcohol drinking alcohol

[32:06]i know it's haram we all know that but we have to

[32:10]know the dangers of it why is it mentioned in many verses

[32:14]stay away from drinking this is a trap from the shaytan the

[32:17]reason brothers and sisters is because when someone drinks alcohol they get

[32:23]drunk what does it mean to get drunk i hope nobody here

[32:27]has witnessed it so based on what we hear and read alcohol

[32:34]brothers and sisters goes right after it goes after your intellect and

[32:41]toxic when you're intoxicated your intellect becomes weak that which is your

[32:48]most powerful shield from other sins and immorality is weakened now don't

[32:55]they say that it impairs your judgment what does that mean that

[32:58]means you can't make the right decisions anymore how do you make

[33:03]right decisions in a normal situation through your intellect when that intellect

[33:06]is gone how do you know it's right and wrong you don't

[33:09]know anymore you don't have that guide to tell you do this

[33:14]don't do that that's why you find mother and sisters human beings

[33:17]when they get intoxicated they act like animals why because the human

[33:22]being minus his intellect is an animal what makes me different than

[33:27]a sheep than a monkey really we think we're much better than

[33:29]animals we are according to the hadith because allah has given us

[33:35]intellect but if you take that intellect away a monkey is not

[33:40]less than me i'm not better than a monkey monkey doesn't have

[33:45]intellect i don't have intellect eid so why would i put myself

[33:49]in a situation brothers and sisters where the greatest gift of god

[33:54]which is the intellect and the greatest guide for me to behave

[33:58]and to you know to act sane why would i do something

[34:03]that destroys that intellect go on friday night saturday nights to the

[34:07]city and just see what people do and how wild and crazy

[34:13]they act these aren't crazy people brothers and sisters these are people

[34:17]that have professional jobs these are people that during the day on

[34:23]friday they're acting so professional disciplined respectful but subhanallah at night they

[34:30]turn into wild animals it's because of the alcohol that they drink

[34:34]it takes away your intellect how many regretful actions do they do

[34:39]they wake up next day they have no idea what they did

[34:43]last night they regret ask any person that you know that drinks

[34:47]he'll tell you that how many times i drank and i did

[34:51]so many regretful actions why because you had no alcohol you had

[34:55]no intellect with that when you drank of course you're gonna regret

[34:57]everything the next day that's why we have to be careful brothers

[35:02]and sisters there is a very fine line between sanity and insanity

[35:09]you want to become insane drink alcohol because your aqua will be

[35:13]taken away created certain keys to evil if you open the door

[35:33]to evil all of it will be unleashed in your face one

[35:37]of the keys to evil is drinking alcohol once you drink alcohol

[35:41]you will commit every evil act in the book i remember a

[35:47]hadith of salaam where he says where someone came to him one

[35:52]day to imam ali and he told him i heard that you

[35:57]claimed that drinking alcohol is worse than murder and it's worse than

[36:07]adultery and it's worse than stealing now if i were to tell

[36:11]you drinking alcohol is worse than all these crimes you'd say well

[36:13]that's an exaggeration right this is what someone told imam ali so

[36:18]he told them did you really say that the imam said yes

[36:23]drinking alcohol is worse than stealing and zina fornication adultery the man

[36:27]told them why their mom said yes i stand by what i

[36:32]said the imam said because when you drink alcohol you will commit

[36:36]zina and you will steal after that because you have no and

[36:39]you will even kill you'll commit murder when you're intoxicated i remember

[36:44]two three years ago i'm sure every one of you heard about

[36:48]the story there was a family from this from dearborn who went

[36:51]spring break i think or winter break they went to florida driving

[36:54]they were coming back a family of five father mother three kids

[36:59]they were coming back driving on the way a drunk driver he

[37:05]was driving on the wrong side of the freeway he collided with

[37:09]them head-on and in a split second they turned into ashes their

[37:13]car blew up and they died that very same second now was

[37:17]that guy a serial killer i don't think so he was probably

[37:20]a good individual who was just drinking too much alcohol brothers and

[37:25]sisters if he the only thing between me becoming a serial killer

[37:29]is a drink of alcohol because without it you're an animal you

[37:33]have you have no intellect you're lost you don't know what you're

[37:38]doing why should i put myself in a situation where i can

[37:41]kill people and then regret it this is what alcohol does you

[37:44]go you kill people you can rape people you can steal you

[37:49]can do every crime possible can be done when you're drunk just

[37:52]read about the statistics and read the stories that's happening in our

[37:54]communities you don't have to be an evil person to kill you

[37:59]just need to drink alcohol and you'll become a killer because without

[38:04]because without your intellect you don't know what to do you don't

[38:11]know how to act you act wildly so that's why brothers and

[38:15]sisters we have to be careful of the dangers of drinking it

[38:21]impairs our judgment and we don't know what to do the greatest

[38:25]gift god gave you is this intellect protect it don't do anything

[38:28]that weakens it that destroys it and then we will regret what

[38:33]we do after that i was reading about some of the harms

[38:38]of drinking the physical harms the psychological harms the mental harms i

[38:42]said alhamdulillah that god forbid us from drinking because if allah hadn't

[38:46]forbidden us maybe we would have all drank we would have said

[38:50]you know what let me try it we try it once and

[38:50]then 10 times and then we get addicted to it and then

[38:54]all the harms that come with it i'm sure you know of

[38:57]all the statistics just real quick for example there was a rutgers

[39:00]university statistic study that said 59 percent listen carefully brothers and sisters

[39:10]59 of freshman girls who drank 10 drinks at least 10 drinks

[39:15]per sitting so when they friday night when they go partying when

[39:18]they drank 10 drinks or more 59 of those freshman girls were

[39:26]assaulted later why because when she's drunk she doesn't know what she's

[39:33]doing she's crazy and she'll sleep with anyone next day she realizes

[39:37]the mistake because there's no and then the study said 70 of

[39:44]perpetrators of those perpetrators they were involved in drinking alcohol so most

[39:52]of the people that are committing rape in america brothers and sisters

[39:56]are drunk people they're not doing it you know because they're very

[39:59]evil no they're doing it because there's no intellect they're like animals

[40:03]just roaming and another study said that of the fights that happen

[40:11]between couples and there's millions of fights that happen every day between

[40:17]couples right 60 percent of those were related to alcohol because he

[40:22]was drunk because she was drunk they drank too much and it

[40:26]caused those fights so common sense brothers and sisters life without alcohol

[40:31]is so much better god doesn't have to tell us that the

[40:33]quran doesn't have to tell us that we know that through experience

[40:38]through these studies through it's common sense why would i even go

[40:41]next to that poison that when i drink it i lose my

[40:48]intellect and i turn into an animal so when allah subhanahu wa

[40:52]tells us to stay away from it it's not because he wants

[40:55]to make life boring for you it's because he wants to protect

[40:59]you he wants to give you dignity and respect so that you

[41:02]don't go and acting like an animal and then you regret it

[41:06]later this is what happens every day in this country unfortunately so

[41:10]allah says be careful stay away from alcohol from drinking it says

[41:16]if allah has declared war against alcohol stay away from it don't

[41:21]even come close to it listen to this hadith rasulullah says cursed

[41:46]10 people that deal with alcohol listen carefully it's not just the

[41:51]one that drinks alcohol that is cursed meaning he's committing a sin

[41:57]the prophet said ten people the one who drinks it the one

[42:00]who grows it where did it come from someone grew it in

[42:04]a vineyard somewhere right from the fruits and the grains that were

[42:07]that was taken from the one that grows it allah curses him

[42:12]the prophet curses him the one that ferments it has to go

[42:15]through a fermentation process he's cursed the one that prepares it the

[42:21]one that serves it just serving alcohol to someone else's haram the

[42:25]one that carries it if i tell you can you just carry

[42:29]this alcohol from here to here it's haram to do that and

[42:31]the one who buys it the one who sells it the one

[42:35]who drinks it so basically stay away from it treat it like

[42:40]a nuclear bomb you would not even deal with a nuclear but

[42:43]you'd not even come close to it imagine there's you know the

[42:47]coronavirus isn't something would you go close to it no way that's

[42:49]how i have to treat alcohol because it's so dangerous the dangers

[42:53]of drinking alcohol are unbelievable so stay away from it and that's

[42:58]why we have hadith the imam tells us that you're not even

[43:01]allowed to sit on a table listen carefully brothers and sisters you're

[43:05]not allowed to sit on a table where alcohol is being served

[43:10]or being drunk drink you know someone's drinking alcohol so i'm sitting

[43:13]on a table at a restaurant my friends are drinking alcohol i'm

[43:18]not drinking alcohol even that you're not allowed to do why because

[43:21]you can't sit on a table others are committing the sin and

[43:25]you're okay with it no you have to one of the duties

[43:29]of a muslim is to forbid the evil you can't just mind

[43:32]your business you have to forbid the evil when you see it

[43:34]if you can't forbid because of the circumstances because it's america then

[43:38]the least thing is get up and leave you tell your friend

[43:44]look respect my religion on my table there cannot be alcohol if

[43:47]you must drink then i must leave your desires are not important

[43:51]than my religion so i can't even sit on a table where

[43:56]the people that i'm with are drinking alcohol you have to make

[43:59]a stance that i will not allow this to to happen you

[44:02]know in my circle you can go and do it elsewhere but

[44:07]not with me and finally we have a hadith that tell us

[44:13]about the harms of drinking alcohol in the next life there's one

[44:17]hadith from ali where he says whoever drinks alcohol in this dunya

[44:23]whoever drinks then one of the one of the harms of that

[44:29]is that that person will die thirsty that person the imam says

[44:35]well if i drink alcohol i will die thirsty and i will

[44:40]remain thirsty for the entire period until allah subhanahu ta'ala resurrects me

[44:44]on the day of judgment i will be resurrected thirsty and this

[44:50]is extreme thirst so this is one of the effects of drinking

[44:54]alcohol you drink alcohol here allah deprives you from ever feeling you

[45:00]know your thirst being quenched and there's a hadith from the prophet

[45:04]where he says whoever drinks alcohol then you will not receive the

[45:14]shafa'a of rasulallah is his intercession on the day of judgment the

[45:18]prophet one of the main objectives he has is he will try

[45:22]to help you to overcome your sins if you're struggling you you

[45:26]know god's holding you accountable you have too much sins he'll come

[45:29]and he'll intervene he'll ask god to forgive you this is called

[45:34]shafa he will help all of us insha allah as long as

[45:36]you don't drink alcohol promise rasulullah that you won't drink alcohol he

[45:41]promises you he'll help you on the day of judgment if you

[45:44]were struggling if you didn't have enough good deeds to enter paradise

[45:47]and by the way there's also a similar hadith from the prophet

[45:52]where he says if you don't pray your five daily prayers if

[46:00]you don't pray you don't take your prayer seriously the prophet says

[46:04]i will not help you on the day of judgement so two

[46:07]things pray and each you know 17 takes you 20 minutes a

[46:11]day so it's not a big deal and number two stay away

[46:14]from alcohol as long as you do these two the prophet says

[46:17]that i guarantee you i will help you on the day of

[46:22]judgment and ask god to forgive you of your sins and then

[46:24]he says one of the stages of the day of judgment is

[46:31]al-hawd there's a huge pool called and the hadith tell us that

[46:39]in that pool the freshest water the most fresh water you will

[46:42]ever taste in your life it's something beyond our imagination you know

[46:48]how they have right now uh fiji water people love it's the

[46:53]you know it's the most healthy and fresh water on on earth

[46:57]there is nothing compared to how the the hadith that speak about

[47:02]it or just mind-boggling the prophet says if you drink alcohol in

[47:05]the dunya you will not receive a drink from how the qatar

[47:11]and so you have to make your decision either enjoy now or

[47:14]enjoy later see what's more important to you and no human being

[47:17]no sane human being would choose this lousy dunya that's filled with

[47:21]sicknesses and diseases and problems over the next life where it's pure

[47:26]pleasure and satisfaction and finally there's also a hadith from the imam

[47:33]where he says if someone drinks alcohol allah will not accept his

[47:36]prayers for 40 days for 40 days unless he repents so you

[47:41]still have to pray but it won't count for you can you

[47:45]imagine it's like you have to go to your job you have

[47:46]to go to work but you won't get paid so if you

[47:49]don't go to if you don't you know go to work you'll

[47:51]only make it worse because now there's going to be there's going

[47:57]to be punishment also so the point is brothers and sisters there

[48:01]is so many reasons not to drink alcohol you know and i

[48:07]didn't even get into the health reasons it's bad for your body

[48:10]you know it's bad for your kidneys it's bad for your um

[48:13]i don't know what for you know just health so many health

[48:16]problems with the drinking and that's why a sane person would not

[48:19]even try it because remember once you try it and you like

[48:24]it that's it's a trap you're going to get addicted to it

[48:27]so resist peer pressure brothers and sisters if anyone ever offers you

[48:32]resist because if you take that first step and you don't resist

[48:36]then the rest will not be your choice anymore you're going to

[48:41]be pulled into drinking a second time and a third time in

[48:44]a fourth time and before you know it you will be an

[48:46]alcoholic i ask allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to protect us all from

[48:52]such a dangerous act from such a dangerous poison that exists i

[48:57]ask him to give us the wisdom to stay away from it

[49:01]to protect our youth our family members from ever going down that

[49:08]harmful path of drinking this poison of alcohol and ask allah to

[49:12]bless you all to protect you and to accept your amal i

[49:20]ask allah to hasten the reappearance of the 12th imam al-imam sharif

[49:25]and let us end by reciting a loud salawat after for all

[49:32]the believers that have died and perished let us recite surat al-fatiha

[49:38]for them but before that a loud salawat for muhammad al muhammad

[50:29]for that beautiful lecture and i thank you all brothers and sisters

[50:33]for joining us today insha'allah we will see you next friday for

[50:38]god permits salaam alaika
