[0:38]i begin by giving you all my sincerest heartfelt condolences on the

[0:44]martyrdom anniversary of amir al mumineen ali ibn abi talib who passed

[0:52]away on a night like this on the twenty first of ramadan

[0:58]in the year forty after hijra after being struck on the head

[1:04]by abdul rahman ibn muldjam on the fajr of the nineteenth of

[1:10]ramadan while he was performing prayer in masjid al kufa amir al

[1:17]mumineen ali ibn abi talib was the first to believe in allah

[1:23]and the prophet he was the first to sacrifice for the sake

[1:28]of the religion of islam he was the first to defend rasulullah

[1:33]in the battle he was the first to be with the prophet

[1:40]the first companion of the prophet of course amir al mu'mineen was

[1:46]also the first to be oppressed after the prophet he was the

[1:51]first and the most oppressed individual after rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wa'alehi where

[1:58]his rights were taken away from him the same muslims that gave

[2:05]him allegiance on the day of gadir only seventy days later turned

[2:10]against the very same man that they had given allegiance to the

[2:16]very same man that they had called the amir the one who

[2:20]was supposed to lead them and amir al mumineen was kept in

[2:25]his home he was not given any position of authority or power

[2:31]while the first three caliphs ruled and then once the khalafa came

[2:37]running to him once the muslims came running to him begging him

[2:42]to rule with his justice for once and for all you see

[2:47]that the muslims once again oppressed amir al mu'mineen three battles were

[2:52]waged against ali ibn abi talib the battle of jamal the battle

[2:56]of saffin and the battle of nahrawan they were waged against amir

[3:01]al mumineen and different groups they all collided and they got together

[3:09]and they unified against amir al mumineen ali ibn abi talib and

[3:15]the oppression against amir al mumineen did not stop with his life

[3:20]the oppression continued after his death for eighty years amir al mumineen

[3:26]was cursed on the pulpits any person who goes and gives the

[3:29]friday khutba jum'a they would curse ali talib and this was a

[3:34]sunnah a tradition instated by bani ummayah by muawiyah and it lasted

[3:41]for close to eighty years anyone who was associated with amir al

[3:48]mu'mineen any type of association was harassed and abused and killed mawiya

[3:57]writes a letter to the governor of kufa he tells him see

[4:02]who in kufa has allegiance towards ali ibn abi talib who loves

[4:07]ali ibn abi talib this is after the death of amr al

[4:10]mu'mineen see who has love for ali ibn abi talib erased that

[4:14]person's name from the diwan from the muslim treasury this person does

[4:19]not receive a salary and then he writes another letter he tells

[4:23]him see who has love for ali ibn abi talib whoever does

[4:28]you demolish their home over their head and then he goes a

[4:32]step further and he says see who has love for ali ibn

[4:35]abi talib you killed this person this is why many of the

[4:40]shias many of the close followers of emir al mumineen anyone who

[4:44]had any type of association with emir al mu'mineen was harassed they

[4:48]were killed go and look at the companions of emir al mu'mineen

[4:52]hajar ibn ali'adi and many of the others malik al ashtar ammar

[5:00]muhammad ibn abi bakr these were companions shias of amir al mu'mineen

[5:06]ibn tayyahan they were all persecuted and killed for one crime and

[5:12]that is their love for ali ibn abi you see anyone who

[5:16]has any type of association or attachment is persecuted his father abu

[5:21]talib until today muslims call him a kafir why because his crime

[5:27]was that he was the father of ali ibn abi talib while

[5:31]the fathers of the others no one talks about their kufr no

[5:34]one talks about them not believing but abu talib the man who

[5:38]defended the prophet he is attacked day in and day out you

[5:43]see imam al hussein and the children of amir al mu'mineen they

[5:46]were persecuted they were killed because of their association with amir al

[5:51]mu'mineen on the day of ashura imam al hussein tells the people

[5:56]why are you killing me what crime have i committed they tell

[5:59]him we kill you out of hatred for your father when i

[6:08]mean when imam al hussein fell imam al ibn sajid tells them

[6:12]go down and kill him this is the son of ali ibn

[6:21]abi talib this is the son of the one who killed and

[6:24]wiped out the arabs those who stood against rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wa'ala

[6:29]and you see until today the ummawi persecution carried on the abbasids

[6:37]came to power anyone from the descendants of amir al mumineen was

[6:41]killed they would bury the walls on them they would bury them

[6:44]alive for one crime and that is they were the descendants of

[6:48]ali ibn abi talib and until today go and look at our

[6:53]history go and look in afghanistan and iraq and iran all over

[6:58]the world in syria and lebanon you find that whoever has any

[7:04]type of attachment to amir al mu'mineen they're attacked they're persecuted they're

[7:09]sanctions they are sanctioned they are oppressed in one way or another

[7:13]just a few days ago in afghanistan the hazara community the shia

[7:17]hazara community a hospital a ward where newborns are born a hospital

[7:26]was bombed why because in that hospital there are babies that were

[7:32]just born from shia parents this is the persecution that we see

[7:38]of course does this take away the love that we have for

[7:43]amir al mu'mineen can anyone take away the love of ali ibn

[7:46]abi talib from our hearts you find that those who the love

[7:50]of ali enters their heart that's it it never leaves have you

[7:56]found anyone who says i loved ali and then i don't love

[7:58]ali anymore no you will never find anyone like that despite the

[8:04]fact that the shias of ali are persecuted they are killed are

[8:08]harassed they are abused but those who are the followers of ali

[8:13]ibn abi talib will never let go of ali ibn abi talib

[8:17]abu al aswadiddu'ali one of the men who was the compilers of

[8:21]the arabic rules of grammar naho he goes home one day he

[8:28]lived during the time of amir al mu'mineen he goes home one

[8:31]day and he sees his daughter he was a poor man he

[8:35]sees his young daughter she's eating honey so he tells her oh

[8:39]my dear daughter where's this honey from i don't have honey i

[8:42]can't afford honey at that time honey was something that only the

[8:46]rich people can have access to so she tells him a man

[8:51]came and dropped it off and he says this is a gift

[8:54]from to you this is a gift from abu el aswad he

[8:59]looks at his daughter he tells her oh my dear daughter do

[9:03]you know what this honey does to you he gave you this

[9:07]honey so that you will not love ali ibn abi talib anymore

[9:10]he's trying to buy your love he's trying to give you honey

[9:14]so that you fall in love with the one who's giving you

[9:17]honey rather than ali ibn abi talib that young child of that

[9:23]man she puts her hand in her mouth and she begins to

[9:27]vomit that honey and then she begins to say she says you

[9:45]try to buy our our love and sell the love of ali

[9:50]ibn abi talib for poisoned honey no we will never sell the

[9:56]love of ali ibn abi talib yes my dear brothers and sisters

[10:01]on a night like this we ask allah subhanahu wa ta'ala we

[10:06]ask allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to keep us on the path of

[10:10]ali ibn abi talib to keep us on the wilaya of ali

[10:14]ibn abi talib no matter how difficult that path is no matter

[10:19]how lonely that path is we inshaallah will remain on the path

[10:25]of amir al mu'mineen and no one said it's easy a man

[10:29]comes to one of the imams he tells him i want to

[10:32]be from your follower i love you i'm your shia'i the imam

[10:36]tells him then be prepared for enemies then be prepared for calamities

[10:44]and tests to come your way but of course the love of

[10:48]ali ibn abi talib has a great reward allah says in the

[10:52]quran and this is this is the tafsir of this verse of

[10:57]surah al bayinah this is a tafsir that is accepted by all

[11:02]muslims those who believed and they do good deeds they are the

[11:13]best of creatures the best of creation rasulullah in front of all

[11:20]of the muslims he tells them the best of creation are you

[11:24]and your followers oh ali ibn abi talib the followers of ali

[11:28]ibn abi talib are the best of creation you and your shia

[11:35]this is a term that was used by rasulullah rasulullah tells amir

[11:43]al mu'mineen you and your shia's will be on a mambar on

[11:56]a pulpit of light your faces will be illuminating in white and

[12:02]you are my neighbors in paradise the sincere followers of ali ibn

[12:07]abi talib are the neighbors of rasulullah yes amir al mumineen was

[12:14]the most persecuted but amir al mumineen the one who is with

[12:18]amir al mumineen will be the victorious one allah describes a scene

[12:24]on the day of judgment after the people of heaven have gone

[12:28]to heaven and the people of the hellfire were dragged to the

[12:32]hellfire allah says in the quran the people of heaven they call

[12:51]upon the people of the hellfire they tell them we saw that

[12:54]what god promised us was the truth what god promised you is

[12:59]that also the truth did you see it that it is the

[13:01]truth the people of the hellfire say yes now we realize we

[13:06]were wrong then a caller will call out may the curse of

[13:36]allah be upon the oppressors yes because amir al mumineen was the

[13:43]first to be oppressed amir al mumineen he lost rasulullah and shortly

[13:48]after that he lost his beloved wife fatima tazara alaihi salam and

[13:55]anyone associated with amir al mumineen is persecuted they're killed they're deported

[14:02]they're kicked out of their homes they're killed they're oppressed they're sanctioned

[14:07]until today until today you see that but amir al mumineen will

[14:13]be the caller on the day of judgement on a night like

[14:16]this my dear brothers and sisters this is the last night of

[14:20]amir al mumineen on the twenty first of ramadan amir al mutmanin

[14:26]is in his bed this time amir al mutmanin instead of praying

[14:31]while standing in the mihrab he prays on a night like this

[14:36]and the twentieth the eve of the twentieth while laying down and

[14:41]the poison had begun to seep through his body amir al mumineen

[14:47]was used to the strikes of the sword but this time there

[14:51]was something in addition to the strike of the sword and that

[14:54]was the poison that began to go through the body of amir

[14:58]al mu'mineen his son muhammad ibn al hanafiyah he says on a

[15:12]night like yesterday the eve of the twentieth he says we were

[15:16]all gathered around my father amir al mu'mineen and we saw the

[15:20]poison is taking its effect on the body of amir al mumineen

[15:25]it had gone all the way to the feet of amir al

[15:28]mumineen and that night he prayed while sitting he couldn't stand anymore

[15:39]this brave lion of god cannot stand anymore in the mehrab and

[15:44]then he says and he keeps giving us advice he keeps educating

[15:54]us he keeps talking to us amir al mu'mineen during his last

[15:59]hours he was giving off so much knowledge usually a person in

[16:04]their last hours imagine someone struck on their head and poison in

[16:09]their body they're not even able to talk but amir al mumineen

[16:13]until the last seconds he was talking and he was giving knowledge

[16:17]and he was giving the best advice and then he says then

[16:30]morning the morning of the twentieth people they came they gathered around

[16:36]the house of amir al mumineen people were allowed to enter and

[16:42]we have narrations where many people they entered and they would ask

[16:47]mumineen difficult questions during those last moments and amir al mumineen would

[16:52]answer them he would answer them they say salaam to him and

[17:00]he answers the salaam and then he says ask me before you

[17:16]lose me but make your questions fast because your imam is in

[17:21]a difficult state right now your imam is in pain right now

[17:26]the narration says that amir al mumineen was in pain he would

[17:29]raise one leg and bring one leg down because of the pain

[17:33]that had its toll on his body people started crying he couldn't

[17:59]hold himself he got up in front of people and he started

[18:03]crying for emir al mumineen emir al mumineen he looks at hajr

[18:08]he tells him oh hajr oh hajr there will come a day

[18:17]where muawiyah will ask you to let go of me muawiyah will

[18:21]ask you to hate me and say i do not want to

[18:24]be with ali ibn abi talib what will you say on a

[18:27]day like that to be safe and i was if i was

[18:40]cut up into pieces and i was thrown in the fire i

[18:43]would not let go of you then amir al mumineen tells him

[18:47]as the time passed imam al hassan he tells the the companions

[19:01]to leave to go to their homes they were all standing outside

[19:05]the door of emir al mutmeneen no one wants to leave but

[19:10]imam al hassan he tells them my father has asked you all

[19:13]to leave they go except one man he stays by the door

[19:17]of amir al mumineen crying and that was one of the companions

[19:22]of amir al mumineen by the name of al asbagh ibn nubata

[19:27]imam al hassan tells him why don't you go go and rest

[19:30]in your house al asbagh says wallah my feet cannot move i

[19:36]want to see my imam one last time so he seeks permission

[19:41]amir al mumineen allows him to enter these are the last hours

[19:46]of amir al mumineen he says i entered on my master amir

[19:53]al mumineen i saw that he was wearing a yellow turban and

[19:58]i didn't know what was more yellow his face or the turban

[20:01]that he was wearing and the poison had seeped through the body

[20:06]of ali ibn abi talib when i saw this i began to

[20:10]cry i couldn't hold myself i mean he tell he tells me

[20:15]al asmaq says amir al mu'mineen looked at me and he tells

[20:19]me oh asbaq don't cry wallah it's paradise swear by allah it's

[20:25]paradise rasulullah promised me paradise al asbaq says oh amir al mu'mineen

[20:32]i don't cry for you i know you are going to paradise

[20:36]i cry for us because we have lost someone like you we

[20:41]didn't appreciate an imam like you and therefore we have lost our

[20:47]imam after al asbagh left it was the family gathered in the

[20:53]house amir al mu'mineen he began to give them his will he

[20:58]has two wills he has one specifically for his sons and he

[21:02]has one for all of the muslims one for us we are

[21:06]the followers of amir al mu'mineen he says and then he says

[21:46]and then he begins his whoever hears this i ask you to

[22:06]have piety in allah don't die unless you have allah and be

[22:22]united on the religion of islam on what brings you together through

[22:28]god because i heard say for anyone to bring people together two

[22:42]people together that are fighting with one another you bring them together

[22:46]the reward is greater than salah and fasting the tawab of bringing

[22:51]two people together and then he says if you have family members

[23:08]relatives be connected with them that will make the hasaab on day

[23:12]of judgment easy and then he says allah allah he says the

[23:28]these are the orphans that amir al mutmanin used to take care

[23:31]of the first thing he says take care of the orphans after

[23:35]me because i heard the one who i heard from rasulullah that

[23:43]the one who takes care of the orphan is in paradise and

[23:47]the one who takes and steals from the orphan is in the

[23:51]hellfire the quran don't let others follow follow the quran while you

[24:06]muslims neglect the quran allah allah allah fiji raniukum take care of

[24:12]your neighbors because i heard rasulullah he keeps telling people to take

[24:18]care of the neighbors we thought that they were going to inherit

[24:20]from because he keeps tell telling people to take care of their

[24:26]neighbors allah allah the house of your lord the kaaba don't leave

[24:35]it don't let the house of allah be empty as long as

[24:41]you're around and then he says i ask you to continue your

[25:00]prayer it is the best of deeds and it is the the

[25:05]pillar of your faith allah allah in the alms allah allah the

[25:19]month of ramadan fasting in it is a protection of the hellfire

[25:24]the poor and the needy be with them give them from what

[25:40]you have been given allah allah struggle in the way of allah

[25:50]through your souls and through your wealth and through your tongues two

[26:05]are the ones who struggle in the way of allah the one

[26:08]who is guided imam muhudah the leader of guidance like ali ibn

[26:12]abi talib or anyone who follows in the path of the leader

[26:17]of guidance he says allah allah and the companions of the prophet

[26:31]those who did not let go of the mission and the message

[26:34]of rasulullah he continued then a while later amir al mumineen those

[26:43]were the last moments of ali ibn abi talib then his forehead

[26:55]began to sweat his breathing became very soft they tell him what

[27:01]has happened he tells them i heard from rasulullah he says when

[27:14]the mu'tman comes to death his breathing becomes calm and his forehead

[27:19]starts to sweat and then amir al mu'tmin he tells his companion

[27:25]he tells his family what will happen to them oh my dear

[27:29]son hassan you will be poisoned after me oh my dear son

[27:35]hussain you will be butchered on the land of karbala and then

[27:41]he looked at sayyidah zaynab he tells her zaynab it's as if

[27:46]i see you brought into this land in the land of kufa

[27:51]many years from now you will be brought here as a prisoner

[27:56]you will be brought here with chains in your hands be patient

[28:00]on that day he tells kulthum he tells take care of your

[28:07]sister take care of your brother imam al hussein he says his

[28:12]farewell and then he says the angels came in the house peace

[28:22]be upon you oh angels of my lord and his last piece

[28:27]of advice to his family was for this moment the moment of

[28:37]death everyone should prepare for and then he did his jihadah and

[28:44]his soul departed his body amir al bukhmedin died on the eve

[28:51]of the twenty first of ramadan inshallah we will continue the amal

[29:21]after the speech of the sayyid and after that inshallah we will

[29:25]do the amal of the raffa al masahaf and dua jawshan
