[0:02][Applause] [Music] aldam one of the challenges we human beings constantly face

[0:37]is that we are unable to spend time with our souls and

[0:43]with our Lord we always need something to distract us such as

[0:47]work entertainment anything to preoccupy us however to reach inner peace we

[0:59]must be able to spend quality time with our Lord and also

[1:06]with our soul recently about a month ago my son told me

[1:10]Baba I want you to see this interesting clip by Mr Beast

[1:18]the famous YouTuber he had challenged himself to solitary confinement for one

[1:24]week and he recorded what happened to him I found this challenge

[1:28]to be quite interesting he says that this was one of his

[1:33]most difficult excruciating of all challenges just a couple of days into

[1:41]solitary confinement and he basically started to break down his mental health

[1:50]started you know to take a big toll he was in a

[1:52]bright white room with basically nothing to do he was going crazy

[1:59]by the sixth day he was literally having a meltdown and he

[2:07]started to cry he was going through a psychological crisis this clip

[2:12]made me think why did he break down so fast when he

[2:18]knew that he's going to come out soon he's going to become

[2:20]more famous and he's going to make more money why would you

[2:25]break down when you know that the reason is because many of

[2:32]us are un able to spend time with our Lord and our

[2:34]soul not a single time during those seven days did he call

[2:41]out on God to seek peace strength and Solace from God today

[2:48]we are so distracted many of us really do not know how

[2:53]to function when we're all alone we go crazy not knowing what

[2:59]to do I've seen people whose phone is not with them and

[3:01]they quickly get bored they get agitated like somebody lost in the

[3:05]desert desperate and having no clue what to do now here comes

[3:13]the beautiful spiritual month of Ramadan one of its beautiful Dimensions is

[3:19]that it trains us to spend time with our Lord and with

[3:25]our soul hence you'll find many recommended deeds and throughout the month

[3:30]to train us to be comfortable being alone spending quality time with

[3:39]our lord it's recommended in the month of Ramadan every night to

[3:46]pray 20 on the nights of the nights of power in addition

[3:49]to that it's recommended to pray 100 units ra it is recommended

[3:56]for us to constantly recite the Holy Quran throughout the beautiful month

[4:00]of of Ramadan look at the beautiful supplications and duas of the

[4:04]month of Ramadan Dua abam could take you 1 hour to read

[4:10]it one hour of quality time with your lord is this just

[4:14]a routine so we kill time in the month of Ramadan some

[4:20]people think this is a routine you've got to check it off

[4:22]and move on to the next deed no this is all aimed

[4:30]at seeking peace from our Lord it strengthens us this relationship keeps

[4:36]you sane and strong one day you might lose your job people

[4:41]may abandon you people may betray you if my dear brothers and

[4:48]sisters you have your connection with Allah with your lord you will

[4:53]not break down look at our seventh IM of IM IM was

[5:01]in prisoned for nearly 14 years he experienced many difficult conditions in

[5:11]those prisons in that last prison which was run by this evil

[5:20]by this evil man by the name of Shah Imam was put

[5:26]in a dark dungeon solitary confinement you could not till day from

[5:32]night in that dungeon but you know when spent those years in

[5:39]prison he would thank Allah subhanahu waala he would say he said

[5:56]oh Allah you know that I would always ask you to give

[6:02]me the time to worship you so that I have nothing to

[6:05]do but to worship you and oh Allah you have answered my

[6:12]prayer so I thank you and IM was very busy he was

[6:18]an IM a community leader he had a lot of responsibilities the

[6:22]IM would ask Allah subhah wa ta'ala oh Allah give me that

[6:26]private time that solitary time in which I can connect to you

[6:35]on a regular basis in which I have that private time to

[6:43]see your beauty Ya Allah to invest in my acts of worship

[6:50]you see how looks at spending time even if it's solitary confinement

[6:55]in the prison you imprison me you cannot break my connection with

[7:00]Allah subh and that's truly what it means to be free and

[7:06]to be at peace in one States very beautifully he says a

[7:17]free person is free in all circumstances regardless of the state that

[7:24]you're experiencing and you're going through you can still be free if

[7:30]if you are truly a free person how so explains he says

[7:41]if a tragedy strikes you you're strong you're patient you do not

[7:47]break down that's what it means to be free no one can

[7:53]break you down yes life's difficulties can hurt you people can hurt

[7:58]you but no one can to take away your faith and your

[8:07]patience if the tragedies surround you from every direction they befall you

[8:14]they will not break you even if you're taken as a captive

[8:25]even if you're imprisoned you're put in solitary confinement you're overwhelmed you're

[8:32]defeated even if now you transition from ease to difficulty you stay

[8:43]free and strong then IM gives a beautiful example of prophet y

[8:49]he says this is the example of prophet YF the truthful one

[9:02]the trustworthy one how so it did not affect his freedom the

[9:13]fact that they sold him as a slave remember when his brothers

[9:20]ganged up ganged up on him they bullied him they tried to

[9:23]kill him then they said no let's not kill him they threw

[9:26]him into the well and then finally they sold him as a

[9:30]slave for a cheap price they sold him for a cheap price

[9:43]as a slave he became a slave but did that affect his

[9:52]true Freedom IM says no they could not take away his servitude

[9:55]to Allah they could not take away that freedom he still remained

[10:01]a servant of God and Allah T compensated him that's freedom to

[10:06]be able to tolerate yourself and to find peace in your lord

[10:11]according to a very interesting study they basically brought a group of

[10:16]people and they told them that would that they would spend time

[10:21]in a room doing nothing absolutely nothing and then there was a

[10:27]device in the room that administers an electrical shock it shocks you

[10:31]doesn't kill you but it hurts you a little bit it shocks

[10:34]you the participants all of them had said we pay money not

[10:41]to get shocked like if we were to be given the choice

[10:44]of getting shocked or paying money not to get shocked we would

[10:48]all pay money not to get shocked well the results of this

[10:53]study were startling even though all of them had previously said that

[10:58]they'd pay money not to get shocked 67% of men and 25%

[11:06]of women chose to inflict on themselves the shock rather than just

[11:13]sit there quietly and think isn't that fascinating even for a short

[11:19]period of time they could not sit in that room and do

[11:24]nothing that is because many people are not able to find inner

[11:30]peace PE the month of Ramadan is that beautiful opportunity to get

[11:38]to know your soul know the strengths of your soul know the

[11:43]weaknesses of your soul evaluate it reflect that's true Freedom when you're

[11:49]able to do that and then when the object of your life

[11:53]becomes Allah subhah wa ta'ala becomes that beautiful connection with your lord

[11:59]that is true freedom [Applause] [Music]
