Have you felt bored during deeds of Night of Qadr? How should we speak to The Almighty? Noor Islamic Education Day 22 Ramadhan 2025

[0:02][Music] Sisters and brothers, have you been in situations during the nights

[0:36]of where long duas are being recited and you're turning the pages

[0:40]is wondering when it will finish or perhaps you feel bored or

[0:47]restless as the dua drags on.

[0:48]How did you feel now when I spoke to you and said

[0:54]salam whilst looking at the book?

[0:56]How about when speaking to people when you know their mind is

[0:59]somewhere else?

[1:01]Perhaps they're distracted and indeed not focused on you.

[1:04]Well, the nightites of are spectacular, huge in every sense of the

[1:09]word.

[1:10]But sometimes this pressure gets to people.

[1:14]This week, I've actually received emails from people stating how they felt

[1:18]so much under pressure during the the deeds that they just simply

[1:22]broke down and couldn't do much.

[1:25]Sisters and brothers, the night of is the night of love, the

[1:32]night of connection, the night of seeking the mercy of the only

[1:37]beloved.

[1:38]It's the night to speak to him genuinely, sincerely from here.

[1:43]So if we're bored when dua is being recited or keep turning

[1:50]the pages, then perhaps we've slightly missed the point.

[1:52]The deeds recommended by the holy prophet and his bait peace and

[1:58]blessings be upon them.

[1:59]On the nights of are immensely valuable.

[2:01]They mean a lot.

[2:02]Before each of the acts, however, maybe set aside a few minutes

[2:08]to reflect why we're doing it in the first place and what

[2:11]is it you're looking to achieve.

[2:13]Here's the thing though is well known as the night of the

[2:17]fulfillment of wishes.

[2:20]Often after some duas you're told ask your needs and wishes.

[2:27]What do you say in those moments?

[2:30]Have you thought about it?

[2:30]Have you got a list of what you want from him subhanahu

[2:35]wa ta'ala that you often use?

[2:37]Well, here are some tips on what we should ask for in

[2:40]this magnificent night and throughout the glorious month of Ramadan.

[2:46]Number one, because we all face many problems in life, from relationships

[2:50]to finances to work rellated challenges.

[2:52]Often the first thing we ask about is this.

[2:56]Oh Allah, help me achieve the best grades or let me have

[3:00]righteous children or I've been affected badly by CO, so please increase

[3:04]my risk and sustenance.

[3:06]Sure, these are not to be ignored.

[3:11]But notice the spirit of the duas we recite on such a

[3:14]night like dua kabir and dua Abu Hamza.

[3:17]The key priority is seeking enlightenment of the soul and salvation in

[3:22]a what we're recommended to do is ask Allah subhana wa ta'ala

[3:29]sincerely for forgiveness first and foremost to attain his satisfaction his acceptance

[3:36]of our deeds and a lofty place in paradise with the holy

[3:39]prophet and his family peace and blessings be upon them.

[3:43]Now these things are the very essence of our success in both

[3:47]worlds.

[3:48]They're the priority.

[3:48]Notice in dua and we recite 100 times.

[3:58]Oh Allah, we want to release from the chastisement of hell.

[4:03]Now after this we can ask for worldly gains as secondary importance.

[4:08]Number two, Muhammad sallallah.aihi Alaihi Wasallam was asked in a narration what

[4:14]should we ask Allah on the night of he replied well-being now

[4:20]this is a beautiful word that encompasses health of not only the

[4:25]body of course but importantly the soul on closer inspection we have

[4:29]many diseases of the soul that we may have ignored in our

[4:32]lives jealousy hatred anger backbiting slander gossiping name calling to name a

[4:39]do.

[4:39]Now, this is our chance to ask for help.

[4:42]Beg Allah with a dedicated, desperate heart to remove these traits and

[4:47]cleanse the heart from Satan's influence.

[4:49]Number three, when we ask God for his forgiveness, have we forgiven

[4:54]people that have hurt or upset us?

[4:58]Do we still hold grudges?

[4:59]Have we severed ties with family and friends and refuse to reconcile?

[5:02]There is no doubt that we're desperate for Allah's forgiveness on the

[5:06]night of because our year and destiny is based on it.

[5:11]So to be successful on the night, shed the load of grudge

[5:17]against others, forgive for the sake of Allah and feel lighter and

[5:21]illuminated in your heart.

[5:22]Number four, the traditions of the holy prophet and the Bhallam remind

[5:26]us of the importance of remembering others in dua before ourselves.

[5:32]This is mainly to shatter any egocentric tendencies and build a sense

[5:38]of sacrifice and altruism in our lives.

[5:39]Start your dua for the suffering and the destitute.

[5:43]Remember those going through hardship in places like Yemen, India, Afghanistan, Philstine,

[5:52]Palestine, China, Syria and other lands.

[5:54]Also pray for those who are no longer alive and are desperate

[5:57]for a mention on such a night.

[6:00]your dua will surely help them.

[6:02]Number five, is the night of the Quran.

[6:05]It's the night the entire book of Allah was revealed to the

[6:10]holy prophet's heart.

[6:09]Let's make sure a dua is made on this night for us

[6:14]to be a Quran.

[6:16]The people of the Quran who haven't abandoned the Quran, who are

[6:20]reciting and studying the Quran and are trying to live by its

[6:24]principles.

[6:24]If you're struggling to get closer to the Quran throughout the year,

[6:28]this is your chance to ask for help.

[6:31]Number six, part of your dua and conversation with Allah should be

[6:37]about gratitude and expressing thankfulness for all that he has bestowed upon

[6:43]us.

[6:44]We can all relate to that in one way or another.

[6:46]The Quran states, "The more thankful you are, the more Allah will

[6:54]give you." When we recite this often, do we know what is

[7:01]it that we're reciting?

[7:03]Are we desperate when we call him?

[7:05]Do we feel the need when we ask him?

[7:09]Quran 27:52 tells us a key component of a successful dua is

[7:12]the heart's presence through need and desperation.

[7:16]Number eight, the night of is the night when our deeds are

[7:19]presented to the Imam of our time, im.

[7:22]So tonight, ask to be able to serve him.

[7:26]Do him proud.

[7:28]Get an opportunity to meet him.

[7:30]Don't forget to pray for the hastening of his reappearance.

[7:35]Number nine, it's the night of peace.

[7:42]Look around you and inside you.

[7:44]Perhaps there is so much chaos.

[7:46]We need tranquility and peace.

[7:48]Peace in our hearts, but also peace with others to spread peace

[7:54]and to be ambassadors of peace.

[7:56]And finally, when supplicating, we must believe and not give up.

[8:04]We must acknowledge and not be despondent.

[8:07]We must affirm that the Almighty subhanahu wa ta'ala will answer us

[8:12]and will not turn us back.

[8:13]For he is the absolute perfect being who abundantly merciful and has

[8:19]made rahma mercy incumbent upon himself.

[8:22]Leave negativity and pessimism and know that whatever is from him is

[8:27]good and has a purpose.

[8:30]Remember we are people of alhamdulillah.

[8:34]May Allah subhana wa ta'ala accept your deeds, your devotion, your supplications

[8:39]and fulfill your wishes.
