[0:16]i begin in the name of the almighty god the compassionate the

[0:23]merciful the one who has created everything in utmost perfection and may

[0:27]the peace and blessings of the almighty god be upon his pure

[0:32]and beloved messenger the peak of his creation the symbol of humanity

[0:37]the holy prophet muhammad and his immaculate progeny of the bait peace

[0:49]be upon them especially the leader of our time the awaited savior

[0:55]al-imam may al-mayr hasten his reappearance and make us all amongst the

[1:03]sincere and dedicated servants respected brothers and sisters and worship your lord

[1:26]until you achieve the state of yakin uncertainty illuminate your hearts and

[1:34]minds with a very loud salawat when we examine the holy quran

[1:44]the book of allah subhanahu wa to allah it is very clear

[1:47]that the holy quran commands us to always have yet uncertainty never

[1:52]follow something that you are uncertain of do not pursue something that

[2:02]you are not confident is the truth and hence you find the

[2:08]holy quran in a number of verses it condemns following your then

[2:13]conjecture speculation those unbelievers they follow speculation conjecture they don't have in

[2:27]their beliefs the holy quran trains the believers to always have beliefs

[2:33]and not to follow others blindly one of the dilemmas and the

[2:41]challenges that the prophet sallallahu alaihi had with the pagans is that

[2:45]they would follow their ancestors blindly would rasulullah them the proofs here

[2:51]are the arguments here's the quran here are the miracles they would

[2:57]reject the prophet would engage in dialogue with them why do you

[3:01]reject can you explain to me why is my argument flawed what

[3:06]is the flaw in my religion they would tell him one word

[3:12]we only follow what we find our abba following my father grandfather

[3:19]great grandfather this was their path they bowed to the idols i'm

[3:23]going to bow to the idols as well this is my dean

[3:27]the holy quran criticized this attitude towards life and towards religion you

[3:33]must have certainty and confidence and yakin when it comes to practicing

[3:37]your religion when it comes to having a lifestyle a way of

[3:42]life you can't just say this is how my parents do it

[3:50]question in fact it's a dilemma it's a challenge there are some

[3:55]people who come and say how am i so sure today that

[3:59]what i believe in is correct there are more than 4 000

[4:04]religions out there you want me to believe that islam is the

[4:07]right religion out of 4 000 religions i don't even have time

[4:12]to sit and research all of them how do i even know

[4:15]this is the correct religion and then let's say islam is the

[4:19]correct religion look at the different sects and interpretations within islam how

[4:24]do i know which one is the correct one even come to

[4:28]our school of thought the school of albeit look at the scholars

[4:33]each one has a fatwa each one has an interpretation i am

[4:36]lost in this sea how do you expect me to have yakin

[4:41]i don't have yeti i'm so confused today in the 21st century

[4:44]if a young man a young woman comes they're educated they've gone

[4:47]to college they tell you where is this how do i know

[4:52]every ruling that i practice is from rasulullah i ask you now

[4:57]those of you who are here every ruling that you go by

[5:01]whether it's about prayer it's about fasting it's about the homes that

[5:04]you pay it's about the signing of the moon the eid when

[5:06]ramadan starts these rulings do you have the akin what you go

[5:11]by is exactly what imam went by rasulullah went by do you

[5:20]have such yeti i see some of your faces you know your

[5:25]hesitant right so it means that i may not have that yakin

[5:28]but the holy quran says you must follow so that means i

[5:34]need to answer this very important question how do i develop yakken

[5:38]for what i practice because at the end of the day on

[5:42]the day of judgment allah subhanahu ta'ala will hold me accountable you

[5:45]practiced by these rulings how did you know they were correct rulings

[5:48]didn't i tell you in the quran follow follow and follow knowledge

[5:54]you didn't have knowledge that this was my path so on what

[5:57]basis did you follow it then this is a very important question

[6:02]my dear brothers and sisters that we must address now someone will

[6:06]come and tell you yes but i follow scholars some will come

[6:10]and argue with you and tell you the quran condemned the jews

[6:14]and christians for following their scholars in fact there's one very powerful

[6:21]verse in the quran the holy quran in criticizing the people of

[6:29]the book it tells them that you took your rabbis and your

[6:34]priests your monks as lords as gods beside allah subhanahu ta'ala once

[6:39]prophet muhammad sallallahu alaihi was asked you know we don't see the

[6:44]jews and the christians worshipping the rabbis and priests what is the

[6:48]quran talking about the prophet salallahu alaihi stated their rabbis and their

[6:53]priests they changed the law of god and people blindly followed them

[6:56]so it's as if they're worshiping them instead of worshiping god that's

[7:01]what the quran criticizes today you find that there are people who

[7:05]come and they say the same exact thing to us you're worshiping

[7:10]your marajas scholars did you ask them for proof when you follow

[7:15]amerja and you take their rulings did you ask them for proof

[7:17]do you have the evidence or are you just blindly following them

[7:21]so when the quran criticizes the jews and christians you're also being

[7:24]criticized because you fall in the same category mom and dad told

[7:29]you be muslim you're a muslim and then you just follow these

[7:31]scholars when it comes to rulings you don't even know what the

[7:35]basis of the ruling is you don't have yakin that this is

[7:37]the ruling from allah subhanahu wa ta'ala how do we address this

[7:43]very important dilemma my dear brothers and sisters because this is very

[7:45]important for us to know we must develop yaqin i see youth

[7:49]turning away from religion because they're unable to answer this question there

[7:55]are people who drown with doubts because they're not able to find

[8:00]the aquin with all of these layers that we mentioned in our

[8:06]discussion tonight i will present to you three layers knowing these layers

[8:12]and how to navigate them will bring your heart to yaquin that

[8:16]the path that you are following is the best path out there

[8:22]in the world what are these three layers let's begin with the

[8:25]first layer if you're ever having this doubt there are 4 000

[8:27]religions out there how do i know islam is the correct religion

[8:31]i'm so confused do i even have the time to go and

[8:33]research are these religions did you go and research them did you

[8:39]research hinduism and buddhism and confucianism and you know all these isms

[8:43]have you even went and studied what they are so how do

[8:44]you know islam is the right religion you say islam is the

[8:49]final religion of god maybe there is a better religion how do

[8:51]you know so in the first layer we answer this question when

[8:56]it comes to your deen you have to separate it into three

[9:03]layers the first layer is the foundation which is called osolidine it

[9:07]is the intellectual rational understanding of religion when it comes to the

[9:15]intellectual rational understanding of religion you do not follow any other person

[9:20]you don't follow mom and dad you don't follow any any scholar

[9:23]you yourself using the intellect that allah has given you you rationalize

[9:28]religion and come at the right conclusion i will now share with

[9:35]you a simple process to show why islam and the school of

[9:39]albate is the correct path out of 4 000 religions out there

[9:43]it's very simple you don't need to spend decades studying the details

[9:47]of all these other religions through a simple rational process you can

[9:52]deduct and come to the yakin that islam is the right religion

[9:56]it starts with a sudah deen that's why we call the pillars

[10:00]of faith or surah deen they're the foundations of deen you don't

[10:03]do takali in a surah deen you don't follow others in surah

[10:08]deen you yourself have to come to the to the conviction to

[10:13]the yakin that allah will accept from you let's now go through

[10:17]this deen and see how islam is the correct religion o solid

[10:21]deen starts with the existence of god then the unity of god

[10:26]tawheed existence of allah and the torah allah subhanahu wa ta'ala because

[10:33]you know rationally when i look at this universe i see everything

[10:36]is in motion everything is in motion from a small particle from

[10:39]an atom to these galaxies and i see that everything has matter

[10:45]i know rationally something put the universe in motion there is a

[10:51]first cause that first cause cannot be made up of matter because

[10:54]if it is bound to time and space it also needs another

[10:59]factor to make it and create it you'll have an infinite chain

[11:02]you won't have a starting point you won't have creation but i

[11:05]do see creation i do see the universe existing so i know

[11:09]that first starting point must be above space and time it has

[11:14]power it has knowledge that's what we call allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[11:18]what is allah allah subhanahu ta'ala what we can understand from god's

[11:23]existence is that there's this infinite power it has infinite knowledge it's

[11:29]outside of space and time it created the universe that i have

[11:32]yakin about now there are some people these days they come and

[11:36]tell you yeah but how did god start where did that starting

[11:40]point come from where is the beginning of god how come god

[11:43]doesn't have a beginning you're telling me that everything must have a

[11:46]beginning the universe must have a beginning how come god doesn't have

[11:51]a beginning it's very simple don't complicate things i will state to

[11:55]you the answer in one line if god is above space and

[11:59]time see we rationally came to the conclusion that whatever gave rise

[12:04]to the universe must be above space and time right if god

[12:09]is above space and time then he doesn't have a beginning because

[12:13]he's above time when you're in time you have beginning when you're

[12:18]above time there is no beginning when there is no beginning you

[12:20]don't need anyone to create you there's no beginning you're always there

[12:24]you're above time very simple so i know i have a creator

[12:29]out of these 4 000 religions any religion that tells you there's

[12:32]no creator there is no god don't bother yourself habibi you don't

[12:35]need to waste your life going and researching their details you can

[12:40]just eliminate them and cross them out then we come to the

[12:44]oneness of god that's what's called tawheed i know intellectually there must

[12:48]be one god because if there are multiple gods if there are

[12:53]two gods for instance i run into an intellectual dilemma into an

[12:57]intellectual problem and contradiction what are the intellectual challenges that we have

[13:04]if we believe in two gods think of this one this one's

[13:08]very interesting if there were two gods what separates god one from

[13:15]god too what separates them you can't say god one is in

[13:21]the east and god twos in the west because the god has

[13:25]to be above space and time so you can't have a physical

[13:27]marker between them so what is it that differentiates god want from

[13:33]god too if they're both knowledge and power and they're unlimited and

[13:38]they're infinite two infinite things that don't occupy space they don't have

[13:43]color they don't have size they don't have shape how do you

[13:47]tell the difference between them what separates them what could separate these

[13:52]two gods intellectually there's nothing that could separate them you know i

[13:55]do have a one god secondly this god who created this universe

[14:03]and sent scriptures he's saying there is no other god and if

[14:07]you worship another god i'll punish you for it if there was

[14:11]another god supposedly out there in the universe how come he doesn't

[14:15]come and defend himself god number one every day is attacking those

[14:20]other gods he's saying look those other gods they don't exist i'll

[14:25]throw them in hell what you worship even the gods i'll throw

[14:28]them in hell i'll punish you there is no other god if

[14:32]there is that other god he exists somewhere out there come and

[14:34]defend yourself say no i do exist here i am if you

[14:39]can't defend yourself you're so miserable you don't deserve to be god

[14:42]so i know that there is no god other than allah subhanahu

[14:46]ta'ala if there was at least you could have tried to defend

[14:48]himself this god who sent scriptures he's always saying there is only

[14:56]one god so that's another way of knowing that you have one

[15:01]lord and you also know that the idols that humans themselves they

[15:05]created that cannot be god that doesn't even need you know a

[15:08]very deep intellectual discussion for us to know that look at all

[15:12]these religions out there out of the 4 000 religions any religion

[15:14]that tells you worship idols cross them out don't bother you don't

[15:17]need to waste your time any religion that tells you we have

[15:22]gods the god of rain the god of rainbows the god of

[15:23]galaxies the god of love the god of this the god of

[15:27]that the god of good the god of evil don't bother yourself

[15:29]it's impossible to have multiple gods see through the process of elimination

[15:34]you've already eliminated more than 3 900 religions out of 4 000

[15:41]because most of the religions are made up of idolatry and multiple

[15:44]gods or no god now you come to the second pillar of

[15:50]our faith which is what justice when you see god and the

[15:57]wisdom in his creation how everything functions you know god is wise

[16:01]you know if through your fitrah that he's just god does not

[16:03]oppress you god gives you what you're entitled to he's now if

[16:10]you look at some religions today such as for instance christianity when

[16:14]you look at modern christianity you find that it is based on

[16:20]which idea it is based on the idea that humanity was born

[16:23]sinful after adam and eve sinned so every newborn was born sinful

[16:28]god had to send his son to die on the cross in

[16:33]order to save humanity when we rationally analyze this we see that

[16:37]this is not compatible with the justice of god let's say adam

[16:42]and eve sinned we dispute that but let's say they did sin

[16:45]why am i being held responsible for it if your great-grandfather committed

[16:49]a sin and then they take you to court and they tell

[16:52]you you're guilty you're not innocent would you accept that my grandfather

[16:57]did something why am i being responsible for it would you accept

[17:00]god the merciful the just would hold millions of people accountable for

[17:03]something they didn't even do that is not compatible with the justice

[17:08]of allah subhanahu ta'ala therefore i know that this understanding of the

[17:13]message of jesus is not the pure understanding there must be a

[17:19]better understanding of what jesus taught and then another problem with this

[17:24]whole crucifixion if christianity tells you that the entire crucifixion is based

[17:30]on your salvation and jesus came for one reason they tell you

[17:33]jesus came for one reason what's that to save us right to

[17:38]die for us to be crucified for us right so supposedly his

[17:40]whole life he knows why he's here he's here to die on

[17:45]the cross but the bible says the minute they put him on

[17:47]the cross he says father why have you forsaken me does that

[17:53]add up why why god is this happening to me your whole

[17:56]mission is to die on the cross what do you mean why

[17:59]god have you so forsaken me something doesn't add up here something

[18:03]does not add up over here in addition to the challenges with

[18:09]the trinity right when jesus would pray who is he praying to

[18:11]is he praying to himself how does that make sense what's the

[18:14]point of praying to yourself is he praying to some other entity

[18:20]then he's not that entity so i know through this process of

[18:22]elimination that there must be a better understanding of reality a better

[18:28]understanding of the prophets of god very simple and then come to

[18:35]nubua when you come to nuboa prophethood you know that this quran

[18:39]these great prophets they brought miracles i can see the miracle in

[18:42]the quran i see the eloquence of the quran i see the

[18:44]knowledge in the quran the quran tells you 14 centuries ago that

[18:49]the universe is constantly expanding who knew that in arabia in 7th

[18:52]century arabia this was something that's discovered a century ago when edwin

[18:57]hubble discovered the stars are moving away from each other he said

[19:00]the universe is expanding how did the quran tell us and we're

[19:09]constantly expanding it so i know that this dean of rasulallah so

[19:16]far meets every single criterion for an unt for an intellectual understanding

[19:21]of the deen of god but then when you come to islam

[19:26]you have all these different sects schools of thought the fourth pillar

[19:30]is what imam imam is very simple we don't need to complicate

[19:35]it imam means the prophet does not leave you for a moment

[19:39]without a hajj without a guide because the prophet himself said and

[19:46]all muslims agree on this that the one who dies without an

[19:48]imam shall die the death of jahaliyah question the prophet sallallahu alaihi

[19:53]departs this earth on a monday let's say one was abu bakr

[20:02]chosen as a khalifa selected as a khalifa at the sacrifice some

[20:07]say two days later some say three days later some say four

[20:11]days later let's take the average of them three days later if

[20:14]someone were to die within those three days whose is imam will

[20:18]the prophet leave this ummah without an imam i know intellectually that

[20:24]the prophet might cannot leave this imma allah without appointing someone i

[20:28]know this through my intellectual reasoning and let's say they disputed that

[20:33]at such a let's say if they were to dispute and for

[20:35]months they couldn't agree on someone is it really acceptable to you

[20:38]that rasulullah would leave this ummah and he says you guys go

[20:44]figure it out takes three days let it take three days maybe

[20:48]it's going to take 300 days how do i know is that

[20:52]even possible so i know that the school of albeit is rational

[20:55]when it tells me rasulullah did appoint someone to be the guide

[21:01]after him to be the infallible imam whom i follow i must

[21:04]have an imam in every era and even in our era our

[21:08]school tells us who our imam or who our imam is go

[21:12]and ask other muslims who is your imam today just ask them

[21:16]this question you'll be surprised with the differences of responses that you

[21:21]get who's this imam who's supposed to be the hajja of god

[21:23]on earth who's going to guide you like rasulullah who's going to

[21:26]take you to quran who show me who that imam is and

[21:30]then you get to the last of them the belief in the

[21:34]day of judgment the belief in the day of judgment is something

[21:36]that we rationally know must exist because i know that if god

[21:41]created this universe he has purpose for it he doesn't have purpose

[21:44]for my life why did he create me where is he going

[21:48]to compensate me there's a child that's born with a defect and

[21:52]suffers a disability his whole life where is allah going to compensate

[21:56]that child i know creation is much bigger than this world rationally

[22:02]you can have yakeen if you've done this you've eliminated four thousand

[22:08]religions you end up with the religion of islam and the school

[22:13]of it's very simple very simple process deen is very complex multi-layered

[22:18]but at its core very simple this is the first layer we

[22:22]call a solid deen you don't do teclaid of anyone allah has

[22:26]given you the intellect you can see the haqq through your intellect

[22:29]let's come to the next layer but i know that i have

[22:34]a lot of practices in islam i pray i fast seventeen raka's

[22:38]the month of ramadan and the details invalidating the fast homes zakat

[22:44]hajj moon signing diet right how do i know that this is

[22:51]the true path of the prophet so intellectually i know the prophet

[22:54]is sent by allah i accept that the quran is the miracle

[22:58]i can see it but how do i know my deen the

[23:01]details of my deen are correct 14 centuries have passed so many

[23:06]changes happen how do i know that this is correct the second

[23:09]layer of your religion my dear brothers and sisters is what we

[23:15]called the muttawattarat the mutawattarat are successive transmissions that give you yakin

[23:25]this is what the prophet preached to his community many of the

[23:30]details that we have in islam they're based on tawatur all muslims

[23:33]agree on them sometimes we focus on the disagreements but you'd be

[23:36]surprised what we agreed on are many we have many areas of

[23:42]agreement so for instance all muslims recognize we pray five times a

[23:48]day and our salawat are 17 raka's do you have yakin that

[23:52]you have to pray 17 allah do you have certainty you do

[23:56]how do you have certainty did you hear the prophet say it

[24:00]no i didn't hear the prophet say it but i have yaqui

[24:02]that i must pray 17 how do i have the european it's

[24:08]because every muslim generation narrated that the prophet salallahu alaihi said pray

[24:16]1700 per day there is no disagreement on that you'll find muslims

[24:21]in every generation having this understanding of islam and they advocated for

[24:27]that and they told us advocated for that that gives me i

[24:32]know for a fact i pray 17 there's no room for doubt

[24:37]over here why because intellectually this is important it's impossible that all

[24:43]these muslims in different generations conspire to lie see sometimes you can

[24:49]conspire to lie definitely you have good media you can fabricate lies

[24:53]you can fool the people you can brainwash the people but when

[24:57]you see every muslim in every generation having different schools of thought

[25:05]some of them were enemies of each other they all agreed on

[25:08]this point you have yaki and the prophet said 17 raka you

[25:12]have yakin the prophet said go to hajj it's wajib seven times

[25:17]around the kaaba not eight not six you have yakin because all

[25:22]muslims have agreed on that the kaaba is my qibla we have

[25:28]on many of the details in our religion the moral virtues so

[25:34]that's keeping ties with your family members respecting your parents right this

[25:39]is something that we all have yakin so this is this this

[25:42]is the second layer if someone tells you do you have that

[25:44]these rules are from rasulullah a lot of them i do have

[25:48]when all muslims in each generation agreed on it i know it's

[25:53]impossible for them to have conspired to lie and fabricate a group

[25:56]of people can lie and fabricate two groups they can not every

[25:59]group in every generation when they were so different and they came

[26:04]from different backgrounds this is the second layer this one's simple let's

[26:09]get to the third layer because this is really the main point

[26:13]of our discussion tonight but when it comes to the details of

[26:18]the salah the doubts and you know that for instance what applies

[26:23]to what it doesn't to when the month of ramadan starts right

[26:28]do i go by the unity of horizons or the multiplicity of

[26:32]horizons is tomorrow eight or the day these details honestly i don't

[26:37]have yet i don't have when it comes to these issues i

[26:40]didn't hear the prophet explain exactly how the moon system works citing

[26:44]the moon how does it work there are many details i did

[26:50]not hear from rasulullah so how do i know what i practice

[26:57]today the rulings that i have today are based on a solid

[27:00]foundation and i have confidence and yaqin that allah is going to

[27:03]accept it from me gives us a key that unlocks the answer

[27:14]to this question whenever you have doubts always remember this key from

[27:19]amir al-mu'min who is really the successful believer he says do you

[27:33]really want to be confident that you're on the best path hold

[27:38]on to the aura is the plural of orwa means handle have

[27:45]you been on a bus and it's moving you need to hold

[27:48]the handle otherwise you'll fall you need a handle you want to

[27:53]pick up something it has to have a handle imam alibna mit

[27:57]salaam states the successful one the men is the one who holds

[28:04]on to the firmest handle see there may be different handles out

[28:09]there it could get a little bit confusing sometimes the imam says

[28:15]see out of these handles which one is the firmest take that

[28:21]that's what allah will accept from you you know allah has not

[28:24]obligated you to find the actual ruling that he brought the actual

[28:30]rulings allah revealed were revealed 14 centuries ago i didn't exist then

[28:35]to know them one by one but that's not what allah has

[28:39]obligated you allah says i've given you the intellect use your intellectual

[28:43]powers hold on to the best handle you can find out there

[28:46]in the world how do i know now that the handle i'm

[28:52]holding is the best handle out there number one when you come

[28:58]to the school of bait and the rulings that we have compared

[29:00]to other muslims this is critical my dear brothers and sisters pay

[29:04]attention to this point when it comes to the hadith that we

[29:08]receive and we practice compared to all other muslim schools of thought

[29:15]out there we have the smallest gap to the muslim let me

[29:21]explain to you what that means you have to follow an infallible

[29:27]muslim for you to have confidence i cannot follow you know i

[29:33]don't follow their interpretations i need to follow them if you ask

[29:39]any sunnah who is the muslim that you follow the one that

[29:43]you trust is guided by allah a hundred percent they'll tell you

[29:46]rasulullah okay you follow rasulullah you take the sunnah of rasulullah the

[29:52]books of hadith that you have which tell you about rasulullah how

[29:57]big is the gap between them and between rasulullah 200 years bukhari

[30:02]comes how long after rasulullah over two centuries the sixth saha that

[30:09]they have the canonical text that they have they come two centuries

[30:12]after rasulullah there is a gap of 200 years my dear brothers

[30:18]and sisters today events happen on earth we don't know exactly what's

[30:21]happening do you know exactly what's happening in ukraine look at the

[30:27]media each media contradicts the other media the western nations are telling

[30:31]you this is what's happening russia says this is what's happening china

[30:34]says this is what's happening today events happen we don't even know

[30:38]exactly what's going on the ground today today with all of our

[30:40]technology it's the 21st century the age of satellites the age of

[30:45]you know motion pictures and still there are gray areas we don't

[30:50]know exactly what's happening do you want me to do you want

[30:54]to do you want me to believe that bukhari comes two centuries

[30:56]after rasulullah and he knows exactly what allah said you want me

[30:59]to believe that it's not rational this is not the best handle

[31:04]that you can hold on a handle that comes 200 years later

[31:07]even if he's the best of researchers even if he's the most

[31:12]pious ones you're coming two centuries after rasulullah you're coming after the

[31:15]bani umayya and the mess of bani umayya you're coming after an

[31:19]era of fabricators you're coming after a century when the hadith was

[31:24]not allowed to be recorded there was a century ban on recording

[31:31]the hadith i don't want muslims to confuse quran with hadith ban

[31:37]on hadith so a century there's a ban on hadith nobody is

[31:40]allowed to write it suddenly bukhari and these books they come up

[31:43]with these thousands of narrations you know what bukhari says he says

[31:48]these 5 700 or so hadiths that i have i filtered them

[31:51]from 200 000 hadiths i filtered them some even say 600 according

[31:58]to some reports he filtered them from six hundred thousand hadith i

[32:02]don't know how much you time you need to filter six hundred

[32:05]thousand hadith mathematically does that even add up or no i don't

[32:09]know and they say he had memorized those six hundred thousand hadith

[32:12]mashallah what a super computer so bukhari comes two centuries later and

[32:18]he tells you this is rasulullah this is the sunnah i have

[32:21]a gap of 200 years from that book to the masum that's

[32:25]concerning imam ali says follow the firmest handle is there a shorter

[32:33]gap to amasu when you come to the school of albeit we

[32:36]recognize that all of the 12 imams are infallible just like rasulullah

[32:41]is infallible you can trust them with your deen 100 percent because
