[0:38][singing] Allah [singing] speech.
[1:11]>> [singing] >> Oh, [singing] >> [singing] [singing] [singing] >> way of
[2:12][singing] [singing] [singing] I >> [singing] >> Hay Hard.
[3:04]Hey.
[3:10]Hey.
[3:23]Hallelujah.
[3:33][singing] Allah Oh, who went to [singing] [singing] >> [singing] >> Alhamdulillah.
[4:37]Alhamdulillah.
[5:15]Aliham come out for one Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has endowed the
[6:02]human being with two gifts that make the human different and surpass
[6:10]all of the other creation.
[6:11]The first is the gift of the intellect, the gift of the
[6:17]the ability to decipher between right and wrong, between and the ability
[6:26]to make decisions.
[6:26]And number two, the second gift is the gift of choice.
[6:34]Free choice.
[6:34]You are not coerced into your life decisions.
[6:38]You make the decisions for your life.
[6:42]And every person they are responsible for their own decisions that they
[6:47]make.
[6:48]And Allah says says in the Quran every person they make their
[6:58]own life choices.
[6:58]You could either be a shakir, someone that is thankful to Allah
[7:02]subhanahu wa ta'ala, someone that is grateful or someone that is kafur,
[7:08]someone that rejects the bounties of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[7:14]And based on these two gifts, the gift of intellect and the
[7:18]gift of free choice, Allah will judge us.
[7:37]You are going to be judged as a result of the decisions
[7:42]that you made, as a result of the choices that you made
[7:48]in your life.
[7:47]But you see sometimes these gifts that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has
[7:51]given us we don't deal with them properly.
[7:55]We don't appreciate the gifts that Allah has given us.
[8:00]Everyone Allah has given them the intellect the but how many people
[8:04]intoxicate themselves or do things that take away their ability to make
[8:09]sound decisions.
[8:11]This is why intoxicants are forbidden in Islam.
[8:16]Or sometimes you see people they have the but they blindly follow
[8:22]other people.
[8:20]They blindly follow the crowd.
[8:25]Even the prophets many of the prophets they dealt with this type
[8:28]of people.
[8:29]They would tell them why do you worship idols?
[8:32]Why are you doing this which is haram?
[8:34]This which is wrong.
[8:35]This which is immoral.
[8:35]They say we saw our fathers and our ancestors doing this.
[8:42]Therefore we are following them.
[8:43]We're just blindly following the crowd and this is also something that's
[8:48]wrong.
[8:48]Allah tells you I have given you the and I have given
[8:53]you the ability to make your own choices.
[8:56]So we see some people either through intoxicants some people because they
[9:02]follow blindly and then there's also when it comes to choices there
[9:06]is a problem that a lot of people have and that is
[9:12]the feeling of indecisiveness meaning unable to make decisions.
[9:19]This is a problem that many people have.
[9:22]You see, for example, they want to put on an outfit.
[9:24]They're looking at their clothes for five minutes.
[9:27]What am I going to wear today?
[9:28]They want to buy something.
[9:30]They go and they keep deciding, should I get this or should
[9:35]I get that?
[9:37]This is actually a problem.
[9:37]And according to the American Psychological Association, approximately 20% of Americans suffer
[9:46]from indecisiveness, meaning unable to make a decision.
[9:52]And this could become a serious problem in a person's life.
[9:58]It causes marital relationships, it causes financial relationships, it causes so much
[10:02]problems.
[10:03]The inability to make a choice to decide on something.
[10:09]It leads to stress.
[10:09]It leads to anxiety.
[10:11]It leads to procrastination.
[10:13]And as time progresses, we see that this becomes more and more
[10:19]of a problem because in the past, people did not have many
[10:22]choices.
[10:22]Today, we live in a world that we have so many choices.
[10:26]You go to the supermarket, you want to buy cereal, for example.
[10:29]Before there used to be one option people would have to take
[10:36]eat whatever is available.
[10:36]Now you go and you see there are 40 options.
[10:40]So what are you going to decide?
[10:41]And it creates it feeds that indecisiveness.
[10:45]Or sometimes people think that they have a lot of choices.
[10:49]I see some of the many people who are not married.
[10:52]I tell them why are you not married?
[10:54]They say I don't know who to marry.
[10:56]There are so many choices out there.
[10:58]There are so many fish in the sea.
[11:01]I don't know which one to decide.
[11:02]And here this is a problem that a lot of people have
[11:09]the feeling of in the inability to decide.
[11:11]A lot of people suffer from that.
[11:13]You might run into people they can't make a decision.
[11:14]You tell them just decide just pick what you want and have
[11:19]that on Allah and your life will become easier.
[11:21]But they can't decide.
[11:23]One of the solutions that faith gives when you have faith in
[11:31]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala it is it helps deal with indecisiveness.
[11:34]It helps deal and it helps a person make proper choices in
[11:40]life.
[11:40]Of course ba faith has many benefits.
[11:44]Faith is not just something that brings you heaven and brings you
[11:47]closer to Allah.
[11:50]No, faith actually helps you become more productive in your life.
[11:53]And one of the ways that a person becomes more productive is
[11:59]that decision making becomes a lot easier.
[12:03]Why?
[12:01]Because a person who has faith now when they have all of
[12:07]these options in front of them.
[12:08]You have 40 options, 50 options.
[12:09]But a person who has faith right away they use the process
[12:14]of elimination.
[12:15]And already half of the things there are haram for you to
[12:19]use.
[12:20]So then now you know what you could use and what you
[12:22]can't use, what you could eat and what you can't eat.
[12:26]It makes decisions a lot easier.
[12:34]It makes making a decision a lot easier because now your faith
[12:40]and your iman in Allah subhanana wa ta'ala that is what guides
[12:44]you to make a decision in life.
[12:46]Same when it comes to for example food we said you go
[12:51]and you want to buy you want to buy food.
[12:54]Allah subhana wa ta'ala tells you that which is that which isal
[13:02]that which is good for you is halal that which is bad
[13:04]for you has become haram.
[13:08]So right away you eliminate all of the bad options.
[13:10]Therefore it becomes easier to make decisions in life.
[13:15]Same when it comes to marriage.
[13:16]For example, today there's a lot of guys they come and they
[13:18]say, "Oh, there's plenty of girls out there.
[13:22]I could marry whoever I want." Well, actually, if you're a faithful
[13:26]person, if you're a person with iman, no, there are not plenty
[13:31]out there.
[13:32]You don't have that many options if you really think about it.
[13:35]Half of them are married.
[13:38]Many of them live far.
[13:39]Many of them are younger, older.
[13:40]So, and then those who are within your vicinity, how many of
[13:45]them are qualified?
[13:46]How many of them are compatible?
[13:47]How many of them have iman?
[13:49]Should you be a person that just goes and marries whoever that's
[13:53]out there?
[13:52]No.
[13:53]You have to marry the one that is good for you.
[13:58]And therefore, having iman helps a person make better decisions in life.
[14:04]So, when you have faith, it actually helps you.
[14:08]It makes the process of eliminating the bad choices, the bad things
[14:12]that will harm you, that will hurt you, it makes it a
[14:20]lot easier.
[14:22]And here in a from he says, "The happy person is the
[14:32]one that looks at the decisions and the choices that other people
[14:36]made." And you see did this person make a good decision?
[14:40]Did this person make a bad decision?
[14:42]If they made a good decision, then you follow that decision.
[14:44]But if they made a bad decision, don't follow their experience.
[14:48]Don't allow yourself to become an experiment again.
[14:52]If you saw someone did something wrong, then let that be as
[14:58]an example for you so that you do not fall in that
[15:01]wrong.
[15:02]And here having that faith in Allah subhanana wa ta'ala it's something
[15:07]that helps and encourages a person in making sound decisions in life.
[15:13]Now when it comes to h and when it comes to right
[15:19]and wrong there should be no indecisiveness.
[15:22]There's a lot of people even when something is waj something that
[15:27]is very clear in front of them this is haram and this
[15:32]isal then you should not be indecisive be committed to that which
[15:37]is good be quick to make the decision that which is good
[15:41]if you see something that is good don't be indecisive don't let
[15:48]anything hold you back one of the one of the ways of
[15:49]shaitan one of the tactics ofan is that he makes people delay
[15:55]doing that which is good.
[15:56]You know salah is waj on you.
[15:57]So why delay it?
[16:00]You know giving your dues, religious dues are waj on you.
[16:05]Why delay it?
[16:04]You know going to is waj on you.
[16:06]Why delay it?
[16:08]Do it right away.
[16:08]There's no need to be indecisive when it comes to that which
[16:14]is good.
[16:16]Do not hesitate in doing the good.
[16:19]We will conclude in the next in discussion of and how it
[16:24]operates in a person's life.
[16:35]Muhammaduhammed.
[16:49]Alhamdulillah.
[16:51]Alhamdulillah.
[17:19]Aliham.
[17:21]Ali Muhammad Aliham.
[17:28]Ali Muhammad Ali.
[17:56]Hussein Hussein Muhammad Ali Muhammadu My dear brothers and sisters, we are
[18:26]talking about the inability to make choices, inability to decide, that feeling
[18:37]of indecisiveness that many people suffer from.
[18:39]And it's actually a type of illness.
[18:42]It could hinder a person's uh progress and success in life when
[18:50]every decision they want to make they are unable to make.
[18:52]I know people they say we started looking for a house three
[18:55]years ago and until now we're living in rent until now we
[18:59]haven't bought a house yet because I go we go we want
[19:02]to we want to make a decision and they come and they
[19:04]say nope this is not good this is not good this is
[19:09]not and constantly bringing up problems and unable to make decisions in
[19:14]life unable to truly go forward with decisions in life and here
[19:21]one of The ways that we can that can help us make
[19:26]decisions in life is as we mentioned in the firstb is by
[19:31]having faith in Allah subhana wa tala.
[19:34]When you have iman that iman will eliminate all of the bad
[19:37]choices.
[19:38]Therefore you only have the good healthy choices that are halal for
[19:42]you.
[19:42]It will make decision making a lot easier.
[19:46]And then there's also another way that iman could help a person
[19:50]and that is through we have a concept of now when I
[19:58]when I talk about a lot of people think that when I
[20:00]don't know when I don't know what decision to make I call
[20:04]up the and I say I need a and he opens the
[20:09]Quran and this the orh does for me now that is one
[20:15]of the types of but that is not the that is promoted
[20:17]and pushed for in the hadith in the books in in the
[20:24]in the narrations of the prophets and theamar literally means seeking the
[20:33]from God.
[20:34]It means asking Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for that which is good.
[20:40]So what is the best way that we ask for the from
[20:42]Allah subhana wa ta'ala?
[20:44]through dua.
[20:46]Through dua.
[20:48]When you do dua, when you're praying to God, ask Allah subhanahu
[20:52]wa ta'ala for blessings in your life.
[20:54]When you're ready to make a decision or when you're undecided on
[20:57]what decision to make, what house to buy, what object to buy,
[21:02]what to do in your life, any decision that you do in
[21:05]your life before going forward with that decision, ask Allah subhanahu wa
[21:13]ta'ala for the ask Allah subhana wa ta'ala for the blessings.
[21:16]Because all of the ti all of the blessings that we have
[21:21]in our life is it because of my own smart my own
[21:23]I'm smart I made good decisions no it's because Allah subhanahu wa
[21:29]ta'ala has enabled you to do that which is good.
[21:30]It's because Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has favored you over others.
[21:34]There are many more people that are much more stronger than me.
[21:39]There are many more people that are more than me.
[21:42]But Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gave me the blessings.
[21:44]Allah gave me the ti.
[21:47]Allah gave me all of the gifts that he has given me.
[21:49]So I have to thank Allah and I have to ask Allah
[21:53]subhanahu wa ta'ala for further blessings in my life.
[21:59]And Allah says in the Quran, if you are thankful to Allah,
[22:05]if you show appreciation to God and if you ask Allah subhanahu
[22:10]ask Allah for for his blessings, Allah subhana wa ta'ala tells Musam,
[22:19]"Pray and ask me for everything, even for certain things that might
[22:22]be very simple for you, things that you really don't need to
[22:25]ask for even for the food that your cattle eat, the grass
[22:30]that your cattle eat, ask me for that.
[22:33]That might be something that is simple.
[22:36]But Allah subhana t teaches MS to ask for everything.
[22:40]And I im he says one of the signs of a person
[22:56]that is far from God and losing with Allah subhanana wa ta'ala
[22:59]is that this person makes decisions in life without doing meaning without
[23:04]turning to Allah without asking Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for blessings.
[23:08]And in another hadith from he says Ali he says sent me
[23:19]to Yemen.
[23:21]He sent him to Yemen and he tells him meaning he tells
[23:31]him oh Ali this is before he sends him.
[23:35]He tells him, "Whoever does whoever does ask Allah for the person
[23:39]will not have this person will not have indecisiveness because Allah will
[23:44]show you the way.
[23:47]Allah will make it very clear for you and you will not
[23:52]regret when you ask for counsel when you ask for advice from
[23:55]those who are around you.
[23:59]So we have to make it a good habit to before embarking
[24:01]on any decision before doing anything in your life first ask Allah
[24:08]subhanana wa ta'ala for the and number two seeking counsel from other
[24:12]people seek counsel from the experiences of other people there are many
[24:17]people that have life experiences when it comes to parenting when it
[24:20]comes to marriage when it comes to business when it comes to
[24:25]everything you could always find someone that has more experience Whenever you
[24:29]find someone that says, "No, no, no.
[24:30]I don't need to listen to anyone.
[24:31]I don't need to get any advice.
[24:33]I'll do it on my own.
[24:36]I have this." Then know that this person will soon make a
[24:38]very big error and it will be very costly.
[24:41]This is why Allah subhana t has given us the ability to
[24:48]talk to other people to learn from the experiences of other people.
[24:52]So here these are the types of and then we have another
[24:59]type of and this is the that most people immediately rush to.
[25:02]Sometimes they rush to it before they seek counsel before they do
[25:05]dua.
[25:06]They come and they say open the Quran and tell me should
[25:10]I do this or should I do that?
[25:14]Now it's only done when you truly cannot make a decision.
[25:16]When you're truly on the fence and you cannot make a decision.
[25:19]A lot of times people call me say do a for me.
[25:25]Okay, I'll do a for you.
[25:26]It turned out bad.
[25:28]Why did it turn out bad?
[25:29]I really wanted to marry her.
[25:31]They come and they they get upset why it turned out bad.
[25:34]They already knew what they wanted to do but they come and
[25:40]they do a or something that they really want it comes out
[25:42]bad.
[25:42]They get disappointed or they don't want and they do.
[25:45]If you already know what you want, then there's no need to
[25:47]do a anymore because your gut feeling, your heart, your brain is
[25:49]already telling you what you want.
[25:55]So is only done when in the sense that you open the
[25:57]Quran or you do it with the that is only done when
[26:02]you cannot make a decision.
[26:02]But the real type of that we are discussing is dua and
[26:09]counsel.
[26:10]That is what someone must do.
[26:11]Now one of the benefits of having that faith in Allah subhanahu
[26:15]wa ta'ala as we mentioned it helps a person make decisions in
[26:22]life that feeling of indecisiveness is going to be gone why because
[26:26]a mmin has on Allah subhanana wa ta'ala that is something that
[26:31]a non-believer does not have a non-believer does not have on Allah
[26:35]they don't even believe in God but when you believe in Allah
[26:38]subhanahu wa ta'ala You do what you're supposed to do.
[26:44]You go and you do the you seek counsel.
[26:47]You ask for the blessings from Allah subhana wa ta'ala.
[26:49]You get help from others.
[26:54]And then you make a decision.
[26:55]Now after we made a decision that's it we are not responsible
[26:58]for what happens.
[27:01]Allah is not going to expect for you to know the Allah
[27:03]says you do your part and the rest is on Allah subhana
[27:09]wa t'ala and you have to teach yourself one of the one
[27:15]of the benefits of im is that a mmin constantly every day
[27:20]reminds themselves to have that feeling of what does means relying on
[27:24]Allah subhana wa tala it doesn't mean I don't do anything and
[27:29]I just sit back and I wait for Allah to make decisions
[27:30]in my life.
[27:31]No, Allah is not going to make decisions in your life.
[27:33]Allah is not going to bring the change in your life.
[27:36]Allah tells me, you go and you do the research.
[27:40]You go and you do the work.
[27:40]You put in the effort.
[27:41]You do what you have to do and then you leave the
[27:45]rest up to Allah subhana wa ta'ala.
[27:47]And Allah tells that's it.
[27:54]have that when you make a decision to do something leave the
[28:00]rest in the hands of Allah subhana wa ta'ala and when you
[28:03]actually do that when we teach ourselves to have that it removes
[28:06]all of the anxiety it removes all of the stress it removes
[28:11]all of the pressure people that can't make decisions in life people
[28:14]that are indecisive because there's so much pressure on them they don't
[28:18]know whether to make this decision or that decision but if you
[28:21]did what you're supposed to do and you leave the the rest
[28:24]up to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and that's it.
[28:26]You left the rest up to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and it's
[28:34]all in the hands of God.
[28:33]In a hadithman, Lman was a very wise man.
[28:38]He tells his son and he is advising him to have stronger
[28:43]faith in Allah subhanana wa ta'ala.
[28:48]He tells him, "Oh my dear son, you have four stages in
[28:53]your life.
[28:55]The first stage of your life, you are in the womb of
[28:58]your mother and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala protects you from the heat,
[29:02]protects you from the cold and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala sends the
[29:09]nutrition for you.
[29:09]That's it.
[29:10]You have nothing to worry about.
[29:11]the baby.
[29:13]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala sets up a whole system that delivers the
[29:16]food and that protects the baby from everything.
[29:19]Then you move on to the second stage of your life.
[29:24]As soon as a child is born, as soon as a baby
[29:26]is born, right away the baby begins to suckle, begins to drink
[29:31]milk from the mother.
[29:31]And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala makes it in a way where the
[29:36]body of the mother provides the milk and provides the food.
[29:39]So you you have nothing to worry about.
[29:41]You have nothing to worry about at that time.
[29:45]And then third, you grow a little bit older.
[29:49]You become an infant.
[29:48]You become a toddler.
[29:51]And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala also delivers your sustenance.
[29:54]Allah sends your parents and the compassion of others.
[29:59]Your teeth begin to grow and you are able to eat.
[30:01]You're able to grow.
[30:03]Allah is able to provide for you.
[30:04]Do you see a kid worry about their sustenance?
[30:06]For example, you see a kid worry about where they're going to
[30:09]make their money from.
[30:11]No, because Allah has guaranteed that for you.
[30:12]So, Lman tells his son in the first three stages of your
[30:18]life when you were in the womb of your mother and when
[30:21]you were first born and then when you grew up to become
[30:23]a child, you had nothing to worry about.
[30:26]Allah was providing for you.
[30:27]All you have to do is have that on Allah subhanahu wa
[30:32]ta'ala.
[30:33]But then he talks he says then once a person reaches the
[30:36]fourth stage of their life they grow older now after all these
[30:41]years Allah has been providing for you now they start questioning God
[30:45]now they start questioning how is how is my going to come
[30:48]to me how is my food going to come to me how's
[30:51]my wealth going to come to me they start questioning Allah subhana
[30:54]wa t'ala so he tells him in the first three stages of
[30:58]your life who was providing for you it was God so why
[31:00]would you assume assume that God is going to leave you at
[31:05]the fourth stage of your life.
[31:06]And this is why it's very important to strengthen our on Allah
[31:12]subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[31:14]And if we have that, that stress, that anxiety, that indecisiveness will
[31:20]all be gone from our life.
[31:23]Sall he tells the Muslims, he says, He says if you have
[31:39]that real on Allah, Allah will give you the risk.
[31:43]The same way Allah gives the bird and sustenance.
[31:44]It wakes up hungry.
[31:47]It wakes up it has nothing.
[31:48]But then when it comes back to the nest at night before
[31:53]dusk, it comes back with a full stomach.
[31:56]Allah subhana wa ta'ala gives it its rest.
