[0:28]foreign muhammad respected brothers and sisters if you were to ask most
[1:15]muslims this question who is fatima to zahra and probably all these
[1:20]muslims that you would ask i would say would be from different
[1:24]schools of thought if you were to ask them who is fatima
[1:30]to zahara they would tell you that father is the daughter of
[1:34]the prophet and then you would ask them please continue tell me
[1:39]about fatima they would tell you she's the daughter of the prophet
[1:42]and she's the wife of ali and then they cannot tell you
[1:50]too much more about fatima alaihis the only thing special about fatima
[1:55]is the fact that she is the daughter of our prophet period
[1:59]and unfortunately many of us if we were to ask ourselves what
[2:07]do we know about fatima who is fatima what can we say
[2:09]about fatima who is she besides the fact that she is the
[2:12]daughter of the prophet and the wife of imam ali alayhi islam
[2:18]do we know much about her do we know why she's great
[2:21]do we know why we honor her by holding these majalis for
[2:25]some people it's all about the lineage because she is the daughter
[2:30]of the prophet i love her and i respect her because of
[2:37]her father i love her for her father and don't get me
[2:41]wrong loving the family of the prophet is a good thing in
[2:43]fact the quran orders us to love the family of the prophet
[2:47]right the quran says the prophet was ordered to tell the people
[2:55]that i don't want any compensation from you for all the hard
[3:01]work for preaching and teaching the only thing i want from you
[3:03]is the only thing i want from you all muslims in return
[3:13]is to love my family so loving the family of the prophet
[3:16]in itself is a good thing but however if we neglect the
[3:23]virtues of fatima and the merits of fatima and we summarize her
[3:31]greatness with this point that she is the daughter of the prophet
[3:34]this is the greatest injustice we can do to fatima father was
[3:38]not great just because she was the daughter of the prophet or
[3:42]the wife of imam ali fatima was great because of the merits
[3:48]that she had because of the noble qualities that she possessed because
[3:53]of the virtues that fatima alaihissalam had it was because of her
[3:59]personality and character that made her so great not because she was
[4:02]the daughter of the prophet that would be like if you ask
[4:09]someone you know if someone asks you you know who's jesus and
[4:11]you say oh jesus he's the son of mary period that's it
[4:15]and you overlook all of the greatness of the stories of the
[4:20]virtues the lessons that he taught his knowledge you overlook all of
[4:24]that and you summarize jesus greatness by being the son of mary
[4:27]isn't that the greatest injustice that you're doing yes i know his
[4:33]fa his father his mother for example with fatima her mother her
[4:36]father with jesus his mother i know they're great but what about
[4:42]the person himself does the person himself have any qualities that deems
[4:48]them great or not so fatima alaihi is not great just because
[4:51]she was the daughter of the prophet and do you know what's
[4:57]the proof to that did the prophet have any other daughters besides
[5:00]fatima most of you probably don't even know their names why is
[5:07]it that you only know the name of fatima fatima unless you
[5:14]have researched about this you probably don't even know that the prophet
[5:18]had other daughters if you do do you know their names do
[5:20]you know anything about them why is it fatima and we single
[5:25]her out and we mention her and honor her and love her
[5:27]that tells you it's not about the kinship it's not about her
[5:31]father if it was just the fact that she is the daughter
[5:34]of the prophet what about the other daughters of the prophet according
[5:38]to most scholars now if you go to the other schools of
[5:43]thought the sunni mainstream school of thought i believe it's a unanimous
[5:47]it's a unanimous point they all believe that the prophet had three
[5:52]other daughters beside fatima he had he had zainab and um and
[5:58]then the last one was fatima and even our scholars in the
[6:04]school of thought of the majority of them believe that those three
[6:07]were the daughters of the biological daughters of rasulullah from khadija so
[6:13]if the prophet had four daughters why is it that only fatima
[6:19]we mentioned her i remember her that tells you something it's not
[6:23]about who your father is if it was just about lineage then
[6:25]all four of them would have had all that greatness because all
[6:28]four of them are the daughters of the prophet but when you
[6:32]look at the life of fatima you see that the holy prophet
[6:36]used to treat fatima in a special way he never gave that
[6:40]special treatment to his other daughters never it was only fatima why
[6:45]if it was just emotional love oh she's my daughter and i
[6:47]love her well you have three other daughters how come we don't
[6:51]find so many virtues how come we don't find so much praise
[6:53]so much love towards the other ones the other ones yes he
[6:56]loved them he treated them normally but fatima he gave her a
[7:01]special status for example it is narrated that when fatima used to
[7:04]enter a medjlist where the holy prophet would be sitting he would
[7:10]leave everyone he would get up and go greet fatima he would
[7:13]go greet her and bring her inside the medjlist and he would
[7:18]tell her this fidaki abuki you know what that means that means
[7:22]may your father's life be sacrificed for you allah this is the
[7:27]prophet say may my life he's saying that about his daughter may
[7:31]my life be sacrificed for you it's not just emotional words if
[7:37]it was emotional words that every father mother says you know we
[7:39]we love to compliment and praise our children even if they're not
[7:43]that worthy of the compliment right if it was emotional praise then
[7:48]he would have said that towards his other daughters and he used
[7:54]to he used to tell fatima these words you are the mother
[7:58]of your father so yes you are my daughter but it's as
[8:02]if you are my mother that's how much respect the holy prophet
[8:06]used to show fatima and the famous incident of hadith al-kisa where
[8:12]he brought fatima imam ali hussain and then he brought a piece
[8:16]of cloth or cloak he placed them all under that piece of
[8:20]cloth and then he told them these words he told them that
[8:26]i that allah has not created the entire universe in fact came
[8:29]down and he told prophet muhammad that god says i created the
[8:34]universe because of these five individuals so one of them was fatima
[8:42]allah created the universe for these five individuals and then the verse
[8:46]was revealed in allah the quran says and indeed allah subhanahu ta'ala
[8:55]wants to purify you o household of the prophet and it was
[8:59]only five individuals the prophet and imam ali fatima hussain and then
[9:03]the prophet said you are my household and he pointed to fatima
[9:07]and ali had the merits and the virtues that made her great
[9:14]such that rasulullah gave her such praise and one tradition the prophet
[9:18]said whoever angers fatima that person has angered allah whoever pleases fatima
[9:28]that means they have pleased allah can you imagine what strong words
[9:32]the prophet is saying towards fatima what a powerful praise that is
[9:39]anytime fatima is angered that means god will be angered you know
[9:41]what that means he's implying that fatima is impeccable she is infallible
[9:46]because you and i sometimes we get angry for silly reasons right
[9:51]where god doesn't get angry we get angry over money we get
[9:57]angry over personal personal matters right we get angry over irrelevant things
[10:00]sometimes we may even get angry for the wrong things so every
[10:05]time that i am angry god is angry no or else i'd
[10:09]be an angel but the prophet said that about fatima every time
[10:14]she is pleased god is pleased every time she is angered god
[10:17]is angered so that means fatima herself her character was special and
[10:22]finally he said about fatima is the greatest woman that god had
[10:31]ever created take from the day allah created adam until the last
[10:34]human being that's born the greatest woman of all time is fatima
[10:38]there's so many great women you have maryam you have khadijah you
[10:42]have asia you have so many great women that allah subhanahu wa
[10:47]ta'ala speaks about in the quran and we read up in the
[10:49]hadiths but fatima is the greatest one out of all of them
[10:53]was it just because she's the daughter of the prophet no she
[10:58]earned this title she earned the title of being said and another
[11:03]hadith she's the greatest woman in paradise it wasn't just about the
[11:10]lineage it was about the merits and virtues and hard work of
[11:14]the god doesn't just give out free titles brothers and sisters if
[11:18]there's any individual that allah praises that the prophet praises that the
[11:24]imams prays it's because they are worthy of that prayer because because
[11:29]they earned that high level they earned that status and position in
[11:31]the eyes of allah subhanahu wa so what made fatima so special
[11:36]brothers and sisters it wasn't her lineage but it was her merits
[11:40]and her virtues that made her so special in the eyes of
[11:45]rasulullah in the eyes of allah subhanahu wa in fact just being
[11:51]a son or daughter to a prophet doesn't even guarantee that you're
[11:55]going to go to paradise let him know alone being someone that's
[11:59]worthy of praise just read the quran do not we read the
[12:02]story of prophet noah one of the greatest prophets of allah allah
[12:07]tells us that his own son the son of noah was amongst
[12:12]the people that god condemned in the quran and he died a
[12:16]catholic disbeliever and allah condemned him and he told noah that he's
[12:20]not part of your family god condemned him in the quran he's
[12:24]the son of the prophet so what if i'm the son of
[12:27]the prophet you have to earn your way to paradise so this
[12:31]is where we understand that there is absolutely no bias when it
[12:34]comes to rasulullah it comes to allah just because he's my family
[12:42]member he gets you know a special treatment no way every individual
[12:46]has to earn their status and their lofty position in the eyes
[12:53]of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala so what made fatima so special it's
[12:56]narrated that the third ambassador of sharif during the small a small
[13:04]occultation he had four ambassadors the third ambassador of imam al-mahdi was
[13:11]a man by the name of al-hussein al-hussein was once asked by
[13:19]someone possibly he wasn't a follower of bait it seems based on
[13:24]the question he asked al-hussein he told him how many daughters did
[13:29]the prophet have so al-hussein said rasulullah had four daughters he had
[13:37]rukaya zainab um as we spoke about them and the last one
[13:42]was fatimah so then this man asked he told him who was
[13:47]the greatest of the four daughters of the prophet now fatima was
[13:53]the youngest one so right away without any doubt was the greatest
[14:01]of the daughters of rasulullah so he asked al-hussein he told them
[14:08]why fatima was the youngest one fatima lived the least amount of
[14:11]years with her father and fatima died at such a young age
[14:15]she was only 18 years old she was a teenager when she
[14:17]died today teenagers 18 years old life hasn't even started 18 years
[14:23]of just games and having fun right when they're 18 they just
[14:27]want to settle and see what they want to do with their
[14:28]lives fathana at the age of 18 she had become the greatest
[14:33]woman of all time she sealed her chapter at 18.
[14:36]what does that tell you you don't need to live a long
[14:40]life brothers and sisters you don't need to live 80 90 years
[14:43]to be great even 18 years is enough for you to be
[14:45]great there's some people they live 90 years but what have they
[14:50]done nothing just wasted 90 years of their lives and then we
[14:53]have scholars you read about them subhanallah you're amazed he for example
[14:57]compiled a hundred books he has a a a book and a
[15:04]theory in every single field of of knowledge for example you have
[15:09]say may allah shower his soul with his blessings when you read
[15:17]about his knowledge and his work and and the greatness that he
[15:22]possessed you would imagine he lived 90 years i died at the
[15:28]age of 45 46 47.
[15:29]can you believe that he achieved what most of us probably will
[15:34]not and cannot achieve in 100 years so it's not about the
[15:37]duration it's not about how many days god god gives you it's
[15:40]about what you do with those days many of us we waste
[15:45]our time we waste our life we have days where we don't
[15:48]do anything we have months where we're not productive so it's about
[15:53]being productive in your life so he as al-hussein he tells him
[16:07]fatima was the youngest fatima she lived the least amount of years
[16:12]with the prophet so basically he's trying to imply she learned the
[16:17]least from the prophet because the more you live with the prophet
[16:21]the more you learn from the prophet right that's what he assumed
[16:24]so he asked him why was she the greatest out of all
[16:27]of them tells him fatima was the greatest of the daughters of
[16:33]rasulullah because of her because of her devotion to allah subhanahu wa
[16:36]when you look at her devotion to the almighty god you find
[16:40]that her devotion her to allah is unmatched it doesn't matter how
[16:48]many years you live father was unbelievable and that's why allah subhanahu
[16:53]wa ta'ala loved fatima so much because of her sincerity because of
[16:58]her purity because everything she did was purely for allah and the
[17:07]closer you become to allah brothers and sisters the more devoted you
[17:11]are to the almighty god the more you will help other individuals
[17:16]in life you know how we know fatima was so devoted to
[17:22]allah not just because of her prayers not just because of how
[17:25]many dua she read how many how much quran she read how
[17:27]much testimony even though she did all of that we know how
[17:31]great fatima was because of how much she helped other individuals it
[17:36]was the empathy and the selflessness and the compassion of fatima to
[17:41]everyone else she helped everyone her life was devoted to other people
[17:45]and the more you devote your life to people the closer you
[17:50]get to allah and this is a hadith of the holy prophet
[17:53]he says the most beloved people in the eyes of allah subhanahu
[18:00]wa the people that allah loves the most are whom the ones
[18:03]that pray the most the ones that do dua the most the
[18:06]ones that donate the most all these are good very good acts
[18:10]but the best acts brothers and sisters the best act in the
[18:14]eyes of allah and the most beloved people in the eyes of
[18:19]god the prophet says are the ones that help other people the
[18:23]most look in your community you want to find who the best
[18:25]person in your community is find who is that person in your
[18:28]community that is always devoting their time to other people helping other
[18:32]people the person that is selfless that doesn't think too much about
[18:37]themselves but rather thinks about other people helping other people and granting
[18:43]the hajjat of other individuals this is the closest person in the
[18:47]eyes of allah subhanahu wa and fatima excelled when it came to
[18:52]this point her empathy and her compassion and altruism and help to
[18:57]other people and imam al-hasan alaihissalam he illustrates this point in one
[19:01]beautiful hadith imam al-hasan says that one day i noticed fatim and
[19:07]my mother she got up to pray it was laylatul she got
[19:09]up to pray to allah subhanahu wa ta'ala he says i know
[19:13]i noticed her from suju to ruku she was praying and prostrating
[19:19]to the almighty allah from the beginning of the night until fajr
[19:23]and then he says i noticed she started to do dua she
[19:27]started to pray for other people for everyone and you know one
[19:33]of the etiquettes of when you pray for other people don't just
[19:38]say allah other people no mention their names one after the other
[19:42]why because that shows you care about them right that shows you
[19:47]care about them mention your parents mention your grandparents your siblings your
[19:51]family members your extended family your friends your neighbors every person that
[19:55]you know in the community take a few minutes and think about
[19:58]them ask allah subhanahu ta'ala to forgive them to bless them to
[20:03]give them their hajjat so imam al-hasan says i heard my mother
[20:06]fatima she was doing du'a for everyone she did for this person
[20:11]that person everyone she knew and then she stopped so i asked
[20:15]her my dear mother fatima you did for everyone it's as except
[20:20]yourself forgot to do dua for herself some of us when we
[20:22]sit to do dura it's all about me me me ya allah
[20:25]give me a million dollars give me a good job give me
[20:27]a good house give me a good husband give me this give
[20:29]me that i have 500 wishes and then in the end five
[20:32]seconds oh allah yes my mother my father and everyone else this
[20:36]is how we do dua right it's all about me me me
[20:40]remember even in our dua we're selfish even in her dua she
[20:47]was selfless even in her dua she thought about other people can
[20:51]you imagine how fatima alayhi salaam's altruism even in her dua she
[20:55]first begins with other people so imam al-hasan says i told fatima
[21:01]you did for everyone except yourself she didn't even put herself in
[21:06]the bottom of the list like you know like we do the
[21:08]opposite it's all me me me and then at the bottom of
[21:12]the list it's other people fatima didn't even do the opposite where
[21:15]it's all other people and then she's in the bottom of the
[21:20]list her list doesn't even include her name have you seen empathy
[21:22]and selflessness to that level altruism where it's all about other people
[21:26]and i leave zero for me so imam hasan as fatima this
[21:32]question his mother fatima tells him my dear son she just tells
[21:37]him three words she tells him she tells him my dear son
[21:48]hassan i always begin with others eljar the neighbor others and then
[21:51]in the end it is me i remember myself this is the
[21:55]code and the law that that always try to please others always
[22:02]serve others in the end serve yourself this is someone that is
[22:09]selfless brothers and sisters that doesn't think about themselves this is fatima
[22:13]and that's why she's so great in the heart of allah in
[22:17]the eyes of allah because her entire life was devoted to others
[22:21]wasn't just because she was the daughter of rasulullah now this is
[22:26]one story and another famous story is the verses of surah ansan
[22:30]that the young brother recited i'm sure all of you have heard
[22:33]this beautiful story hussein are fasting one day in medina they're fasting
[22:42]and it's almost after time fatima has prepared the iftar of this
[22:47]beautiful family what is their iftar our iftar contains sometimes two three
[22:52]types of food right meat chicken rice cobania hamburgers fries four or
[22:59]five types of food especially especially when we're fasting because our iftar
[23:04]can't be just a normal meal i haven't had food for 16
[23:07]18 19 hours so we have to have five types of food
[23:10]six types of colors but look at the iftar of imam ali
[23:15]and fatima what is their iftar their if that is bread that's
[23:20]it fatima has placed a loaf of bread for each individual one
[23:23]love for imam ali one for fatima one for hasan one for
[23:28]hussain can you imagine you sit on the dinner table on the
[23:31]floor and there's only bread to eat can we brothers and sisters
[23:36]can we live such a life can i handle living such a
[23:41]life that my effar when i'm starving and i'm counting the seconds
[23:44]remember ramadhan sha allah will come back couple of months to ramadan
[23:49]remember the hunger and the starvation sometimes that we are feeling when
[23:53]it's almost if thought time and then your mother comes and she
[23:58]says our iftar is bred we'll go crazy right away i'll say
[24:00]thank you i'll go now probably go eat out or bring food
[24:04]from the restaurant they sit down it's almost after time they want
[24:07]to break their fast but then someone knocks the door imam ali
[24:11]goes to the door who is it it is a misqueen a
[24:15]mesquine means a poor person very poor person needy individual he wants
[24:19]food now if it was us we would go to the refrigerator
[24:21]and our refrigerators are exploding with food right we could we could
[24:27]give them food for 50 people we're four people living in a
[24:30]house but we have enough food for 100 people at a given
[24:32]time in the refrigerator and even the food that we cook if
[24:36]we're for people we cook food for seven people for eight people
[24:38]sometimes for 10 people that's why we're left with leftovers that we
[24:42]throw away in the garbage subhanallah just compare our lives with ahlulbait
[24:46]i don't know how we could we we claim that we follow
[24:49]them we follow them in what just because i have that sword
[24:55]of imam ali and that tattoo of him live try to follow
[24:58]in their footsteps don't just claim that you're a shia it's easy
[25:01]anyone can claim learn from the lessons of they earned their titles
[25:05]because they struggled they did jihadism they gave everything for allah subhanahu
[25:10]what have i given to allah that i feel i'm so proud
[25:13]i'm so good masha'allah i donated a thousand dollars to the masjid
[25:18]masha'allah and i feel so holy because i donate a couple of
[25:23]dollars here here and there and i always sleep with a full
[25:27]stomach with five types of food every night we have to learn
[25:29]from adhd brothers and sisters i'm not saying go and and eat
[25:32]bread for your iftar but at least try to learn try to
[25:37]learn do one percent of what and that would be great so
[25:43]anyway imam ali comes to fatima what do we have there's a
[25:45]mesquine because imam ali and fatima would never turn anyone away they
[25:49]would never tell someone you know what go and take food from
[25:52]somewhere else too bad and imam ali could have easily turned him
[25:54]down because he really didn't have anything it's only those four pieces
[25:58]of bread he comes to fatima what do we have he tells
[26:02]them this is the only thing we have nothing else so they
[26:05]decide that they will take that bread and give it to that
[26:09]miss king all four of them each one gives their loaf to
[26:12]that mesquite a stranger that they don't even know they sleep that
[26:17]night without iftar they gave it to that poor individual 24 hours
[26:21]later they're fasting once again once again each one has another piece
[26:24]of bread that they want to eat their second iftar now they're
[26:27]fasting for two days and once again someone knocks the door who
[26:33]is at this time this time it is a team it's an
[26:37]orphan he comes once again he wants food imam ali comes to
[26:40]fatima all we have is this food they take their food and
[26:42]they give it to the orphan day three they're fasting once again
[26:45]they want to break their fast this time asil i see it
[26:48]as a prisoner of war that has nowhere to go that has
[26:52]no food once again imam ali alayhi salaam takes the food and
[26:55]he gives it to that prisoner of war for the third day
[27:00]now remember and asir couldn't be a muslim and asir is someone
[27:02]that is there's a war and then he's caught as a prisoner
[27:04]of war so obviously there wasn't any wars against muslims during the
[27:08]time of the prophet so it was a non-muslim either it was
[27:10]a mushrik or it was a christian or a jew it was
[27:14]a non-muslim and imam ali and fatima gave their foods to a
[27:20]non-muslim their mercy wasn't just to muslims even non-muslims they received the
[27:26]mercy of fatima and so now three days they have no food
[27:30]it was then that rasulullah came he saw them they're literally starving
[27:33]he asked allah subhanahu ta'ala to send food from the heavens and
[27:38]finally they ate that blessed food of allah from the heavens he
[27:46]praised them in the quran about the believers and then he mentions
[27:57]the story of how of how imam ali fatima and hasan hussain
[28:01]gave their food to the mesquine to the yatim to the asir
[28:05]to the poor individual the orphan and the prisoner of war innama
[28:14]and then they say when we give to these individuals we don't
[28:17]want any compensation we don't want to benefit from our sadat we
[28:21]don't want to benefit from our donation sometimes we donate brothers and
[28:26]sisters to a charitable cause and we want to benefit 50 ways
[28:29]from this number one i need to get a tax deductible from
[28:32]this right well you're already getting from allah but no i want
[28:37]to get that tax deductible it has to account for my tax
[28:40]number two i has to count towards my myhumus right this is
[28:45]number two and then number three number four i want people to
[28:49]praise me for it i want recognition i want to plug masha
[28:50]allah you gave a couple of dollars and you want 50 benefits
[28:54]from this when they give something we're doing it for allah strictly
[29:05]we have no other incentives we have no other motives when we
[29:09]give to allah once brothers and sisters we can learn the that
[29:13]i can give purely for god without any worldly desires without any
[29:19]worldly incentives and motives this is when i know i'm a true
[29:23]shia of bait you see the hadith they speak so highly of
[29:27]the shi'a the shia of imam ali on the day of judgment
[29:30]they are on manabur they are on pulpits of noor of light
[29:33]they will never taste any struggle any any uh any any problems
[29:40]on the day of judgment and they will have a you know
[29:43]a fast entry to paradise but which is the one that claims
[29:46]to be shia but he absolutely has nothing to do with the
[29:52]lessons of allah this beautiful story he shows us why hello bait
[30:02]were so great why father was great it was because of her
[30:07]empathy it was because of her generosity her altruism remember they left
[30:12]nothing for themselves they gave everything they had this is the individual
[30:16]the prophet says that allah subhanahu wa loves the most and that's
[30:20]why brothers and sisters we have to think with ourselves let's reevaluate
[30:24]our lives and sit down one day and think with yourself how
[30:30]much do you help other people in your life is your life
[30:31]all about you is it all about me unfortunately in this country
[30:37]we're taught just to please yourself it doesn't matter if your parents
[30:41]like what you're doing your career doesn't matter what matters is that
[30:45]you like your career what matters is that you're happy what matters
[30:48]is that you're comfortable no one can tell you what to do
[30:51]it's all about me such a selfish lifestyle that we're taught to
[30:56]live in this country it's all about me it's about my comfort
[30:59]it's about my life what's an average individual a young individual their
[31:04]greatest goal is to become wealthy why to help other people know
[31:07]so that i can enjoy myself you see how our priorities are
[31:10]completely upside down when albeit everything they had they gave to other
[31:14]people we want everything for ourselves i was reading a couple of
[31:20]days ago the list of the wealthiest people on earth today the
[31:25]you know the forbes uh richest individuals brothers and sisters you find
[31:30]that the the top six or seven wealthiest people on earth who
[31:35]all live i think all or most of them live in america
[31:37]all together their wealth is equal to one trillion dollars one trillion
[31:42]dollars a couple of days ago we saw the new the newest
[31:48]richest individual right his um his wealth at easily won over 200
[31:53]billion dollars one individual more than 200 billion dollars and then if
[31:59]he builds a hospital somewhere in africa allah receives so much recognition
[32:04]and he receives so much praise the sprinkle you know the sprinkles
[32:08]of of what he's what he has he throws it on some
[32:11]poor individuals and he receives so much praise and recognition and there's
[32:15]people brothers and sisters that i know i'm not talking about in
[32:19]africa people shi ab al-bay that i know in iran and iraq
[32:21]in the middle east who don't even have five dollars in their
[32:25]pocket at a given time they don't even have ten dollars in
[32:26]their pocket you see how unselfish we live in this life and
[32:31]no one could tell you anything no one could tell you that
[32:35]this is too much money what are you doing with it when
[32:37]fatima alayhi salam her food choose to give it away her food
[32:42]so if i truly want to become great and follow in the
[32:49]footsteps of i have to learn brothers and sisters to be selfless
[32:52]to think about others from time to time fatah gave 100 to
[32:57]other zero for her this is not expected of you and me
[33:00]give five percent to others and leave 95 so like i said
[33:05]sit and think how much do you help others in your life
[33:08]how much of your time is devoted for you your career your
[33:13]time your entertainment your comfort and how much of it is devoted
[33:16]to other people sometimes brothers and sisters if you do the calculation
[33:19]you will notice that 99.5 of my day is for me point
[33:25]zero five is for others maybe i should increase that point five
[33:29]percent to two percent to three percent to five percent the least
[33:33]thing we can do is go and ask your mother do you
[33:36]need help in the house sometimes the mother asks the son or
[33:40]the daughter to help her in the kitchen and take out the
[33:41]garbage and we whine and complain and it's as if my mother
[33:46]is a as a servant as a maid in the house help
[33:48]your mother at least start by fighting this tendency of selfishness that
[33:53]we have by helping your mother by helping your father in the
[33:57]house ask them what do they need you to help them devote
[33:58]30 minutes a day for your parents just 30 minutes a day
[34:02]23 and a half for you if you work if you study
[34:06]in the end that's for you brothers and sisters you can't say
[34:08]well i have to go to well school who's going to benefit
[34:11]from your schooling your neighbor you're going to benefit from your school
[34:15]so if you have a job or you are studying at the
[34:19]end this is an investment in yourself it's a good investment of
[34:24]course but the point is leave some time for other people your
[34:27]neighbors see if your neighbors need some help even if they're non-muslims
[34:32]especially if they're old people remember old people today they have it
[34:35]more difficult they're afraid to leave their houses because of the pandemic
[34:38]maybe they can't shop offer them from time to time to shop
[34:43]for them is that too much to ask you're young you have
[34:46]a good immune system you're not afraid to go out everywhere offer
[34:49]your neighbors people in the community that you know offer to help
[34:52]them someone is sick someone is old offer to help individuals the
[34:58]more you become selfless the more you help others the prophet says
[35:02]the closer you you get to allah subhanahu wa it's not just
[35:06]about rituals it's not just about salah it's not just about how
[35:08]much you come to the masjid it's also about other individuals helping
[35:13]and serving other individuals i become less and less selfish in this
[35:17]way and i follow in the footsteps of father ali remember one
[35:22]of the greatest virtues of fatima alaihissalam was her empathy and compassion
[35:26]towards others she would never ever say no to anyone whoever would
[35:32]go to the door of fatima fatima and some traditions we have
[35:38]that someone would come and ask and she didn't have anything even
[35:41]in those instances she would not say no how if you don't
[35:46]have anything she would take out a loan she would take out
[35:48]a loan go and take a loan from someone just ticket to
[35:51]give to that poor person can you imagine doing that that you
[35:55]go and take a mortgage on your house just to help someone
[35:58]that would be too extreme right that's why fatima alaihissalam was so
[36:03]great and when you see her last days of her life those
[36:09]final agonizing days those difficult days even in those days fatima alaihi
[36:17]hassanam did not focus on herself even those last days of her
[36:24]life even though she was in pain even though they were the
[36:26]most difficult days of her life fatima alaihissalam still did not think
[36:31]about herself what happened to fatima in those final days they came
[36:35]and they attacked the house of fatima they squeezed her between the
[36:41]door and the wall they broke the ribs of fatima her child
[36:44]was miscarried because of that fatima already she was in a state
[36:49]of mourning she was crying over rasulullah she was still in grief
[36:55]over rasulullah on top of all of that what they did to
[37:01]imam and how they sidelined him that added to the difficulty and
[37:08]the grief of fatima and on top of that they come and
[37:13]they attack the house of father but yet fatima never complained fatima
[37:16]never spoke about herself the only thing that she cared about in
[37:21]those final days of her life was allah subhanahu wa ta'ala was
[37:25]she wanted to make sure that she defends the imam of her
[37:31]time she wanted to make sure that as long as she is
[37:34]alive every breath that remains in her she spends it defending amir
[37:38]al-mu'manin and proving that imam ali is the rightful khalifa of rasulullah
[37:43]imam ali is the leader that imam she died in the sake
[37:48]of the william of imam ali have you seen someone that is
[37:53]that devoted to allah that is that selfless and she never ever
[37:57]complained to imam ali of the pain remember back then there's no
[38:01]painkillers right now if i have pain if you break your any
[38:04]bone in your body you go to the doctor they give you
[38:07]the strongest of painkillers and you don't feel anything she lived how
[38:11]many days she lived two to three months after that incident and
[38:17]she never complained to imam ali she never even told him that
[38:21]my that my chest is hurting never once did she even tell
[38:27]imam ali that her chest was broken that she was in that
[38:29]much pain do you know how imam ali found out that the
[38:33]chest of fatima alaihissalam was broken was only after fatima alaihissalam died
[38:38]after fatima zahara died after imam ali ibm was doing the hustle
[38:46]of fatima he was washing that sacred body of fatima with asma
[38:51]as says that i noticed imam ali was so patient he was
[38:54]a mountain of suburb of patience he did not break down over
[38:58]all the calamities that he saw fell imagine your wife is 18
[39:02]years old and she is killed in that brutal way and she
[39:06]is the daughter of rasulullah she's such a great individual he did
[39:10]not he never broke down she says until i notice after he
[39:16]was washing the body he came back from the body and he
[39:20]burst into tears he broke down so i told him you were
[39:25]so patient you never cried you never broke down like i'm seeing
[39:30]you right now what happened he told her oh as ma while
[39:34]i was washing her body my hand it went over the chest
[39:39]of fatima and i noticed that her chest wall had collapsed when
[39:42]you break your bones brothers and sisters when you break your ribs
[39:45]they don't collapse can you imagine what type of blow it was
[39:48]on the chest of fatima that imam ali says i noticed that
[39:52]her chest had collapsed this is when i noticed that fatima never
[39:55]even complained to me she never even came to me telling me
[39:59]i am in pain my chest is hurting me do you know
[40:04]why because fatima never thought about herself it was only about allah
[40:07]it was only about others about the religion oh [Music] oh [Music]
[40:50]on brothers and sisters let us raise our hands and ask allah
[40:58]subhanahu wa ta'ala let us ask him and do tawas we ask
[41:03]you allah for your love of father and we are all trying
[41:07]trying to be the shia of fatima to zach we ask you
[41:12]ya allah to give us the ability and the strength and the
[41:18]tawfiq so that we can follow in the footsteps in this life
[41:32]grant us her father rasulullah in the next life ya allah we
[41:35]ask you anyone that is sick please cure them anyone that has
[41:39]a hajj a need grant them their hajjat we ask you allah
[41:43]to forgive us all of our sins to accept our to hasten
[41:48]the reappearance of sahib al-asri waziman the 12th imam jamie muhammad
