Our ultimate goal in life is to seek the ever-affectionate creator, Allah swt. (Al-Wadood). While there can be many pathways that ultimately lead to him, brother Hassan Rashed discusses the ideal route that is to be taken on this journey, and how Sayeda Fatima (A.S.) throughout her lifetime set the perfect example to reach this goal. [0:01][Music] respected brothers and sisters first and foremost I bid you the
[0:19]Islamic greeting of Allah subhanahu waala out of his endless and infinite
[0:31]Mercy placed Us in this world in the middle of a vast
[0:35]universe and he made for us a purpose in three main factors
[0:45]or points number one we need to find Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[0:51]number two we need to recognize acknowledge his existence and then number
[0:57]three after doing these two factors we need to establish a connection
[1:06]with him an everlasting connection that will ultimately impact our destination in
[1:11]this world and in the Hereafter once once we are blessed to
[1:21]be able to identify Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala recognize him then we
[1:26]can say that we have ultimately reached the peak the climax the
[1:32]Pinnacle of purpose in life we can say that finding Allah that
[1:37]goal is sufficient for for me and I don't need anything else
[1:45]IM husin beautifully describes this in Du when he said oh Allah
[1:55]what did he find he who lost you and what did he
[2:00]lose he who found you now for us to be able to
[2:08]reach such a stage such a level we again need to be
[2:10]knowledgeable about Allah and our main goal is for us to seek
[2:19]him that's why what does he say you are the object of
[2:27]my search of my desire now when you get to know someone
[2:38]anyone and you start to know more and more about that person
[2:43]and you start to sense some kind of connection some kind of
[2:49]Harmony some kind of Attraction as creatures of emotion you will notice
[2:55]that up and down your body you'll sense emotions you'll sense feelings
[3:00]especially if that's someone that again you find harmony with this is
[3:07]all summarized in one word love you start to love that other
[3:14]entity now when you move from a stage of just simply knowing
[3:16]someone to loving them something happens that thing is you do not
[3:25]become acceptant and satisfied with simply knowing them you have that eagerness
[3:29]that desire ire that you want to express that love you want
[3:35]to perform actions to show your love to that other person so
[3:42]your goal transforms from Simply knowing that entity to seeking its pleasurement
[3:50]you find that IM in one of his supplications what does he
[3:58]say allaham muhamad oh Allah send your blessings on Muhammad and His
[4:08]holy pry and empty my heart from anything from everything just so
[4:16]it's so there's sufficient uh uh place or space to Encompass and
[4:20]pour your love in it that is the absolute that's the peak
[4:27]of Love right there for you now when we talk about love
[4:31]we know that the most efficient the most effective the most Everlasting
[4:38]Love relationship is one that is mutual meaning if love is from
[4:42]one side if it's one-sided love let's say this is the entity
[4:45]that's loving this is the entity that is not showing love back
[4:52]what happens after a while he's showing love he's showing love if
[4:55]that other party is not returning it somehow then that that party
[5:00]eventually will be tired we'll stop showing and expressing that love likewise
[5:07]when we seek Allah subhah wa ta'ala when we know him when
[5:14]we love him what does Allah subhana wa taala do to us
[5:17]what is his reaction what is his side of the story brothers
[5:24]and sisters the relationship is still Mutual it's reciprocal meaning if you
[5:31]analyze the names of Allah subhanahu wa taala you will notice that
[5:34]one unique name of his is [Music] Al the most loving the
[5:45]ever loving meaning that Allah subhah wa ta'ala not only does he
[5:50]show love he is the manifestation of Love of affection and that
[5:55]translates into His blessings into his favors that he bestows upon us
[6:01]that transforms into the guidance that he puts us through that transforms
[6:09]into the Forgiveness the doors of repentance that he opens for us
[6:13]I ask you if someone loves you to that extent and before
[6:19]I forget there's one unique definition of alwad it has three different
[6:24]special characteristics it's not like how we love one another Allah subhah
[6:29]when he says I'm Al his love is intense his love is
[6:36]constant his love is Everlasting I tell you if someone if there's
[6:43]any entity who loves you to that extent With No Boundaries then
[6:48]you will feel imposed that you want to love that entity as
[6:52]much as you can you want to show as much love as
[6:57]possible to that entity and you find IM aliam beautifully beautifully resembles
[7:05]this what does he say Allah oh Allah you are to me
[7:16]what I love you to be so allow me to be what
[7:22]you love me to be beautiful profound so from that we can
[7:26]conclude in this introduction that number one we need to know Allah
[7:30]subh waala number two once we know Allah subhah wa ta'ala we
[7:33]get the sense and the emotion of love that transforms into US
[7:39]wanting to perform acts to gain his acceptance so ultimately we can
[7:45]be considered as top worshippers worshippers that IM describes he has a
[7:53]famous Hadith which categorizes the levels of worshippers and at the Pinnacle
[7:59]of that IM [Music] says people amongst the worshippers are people who
[8:16]worship Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala purely for his love and this is
[8:20]the expression of worship of the three of The Three Men and
[8:26]that is the best kind of worship so what is the root
[8:31]what's the way how can we show our love to Allah I'll
[8:33]answer this question after I test if you're all awake with a
[8:38]very loud Salat Muhammad Muhammad now I hope most of us have
[8:44]cars and I hope most of us can drive I'm one of
[8:46]those who cannot drive yet but alhamdulillah I made it today safe
[8:52]and sound when you drive a car you want to get from
[8:53]point A to point B for you to get to point B
[8:57]you need signs you need directions with that traffic signs without Road
[9:02]signals you will not be able to go thus these signs facilitate
[9:06]your transportation likewise when Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala placed Us in this
[9:12]world it is impossible for him to place us with such a
[9:17]difficult Mission without giving us Direction without giving us signs the thing
[9:22]here though is if you want to go from point A to
[9:26]point B there is many different roads and Pathways that you can
[9:30]take and ultimately you will still reach that destination however does that
[9:35]mean that all pathways are the same are they all as efficient
[9:38]are they all as effective are they all as fast no likewise
[9:44]when it comes to the Phil philosophical uh analyzation of how we
[9:49]can get to Allah there's a saying the roads the pathways to
[9:59]Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala are as numerous as vast as the breaths of
[10:04]his creation meaning there is so many different roads that we can
[10:08]possibly take but our goal here is to hunt to chase that
[10:14]perfect resemblance and manifestation of divine love we want to get the
[10:18]best and most efficient road now anytime there's a question imposed the
[10:24]best way to get an answer is to reflect back on our
[10:28]book of guidance the holy Quran let's see what does Allah subhanahu
[10:32]waala say in his holy book inah Al Iman verse 31 Allah
[10:39]subhah [Music] says say oh Muhammad if you love Allah then follow
[10:54]me and Allah will not only love you Allah will love you
[11:00]and forgive your sins there you go that's the magical pill that's
[11:03]the root that we want Allah clearly indicates in the Quran it's
[11:09]an easy formula follow the prophet Allah will love you that's the
[11:15]foundation now when you analyze the life of the holy prophet and
[11:19]you come towards the end of his prophethood before he departed this
[11:24]world there's one instruction there's one will there's one message that Allah
[11:34]subhah wa ta'ala asked him to deliver that message if he did
[11:38]not deliver it was as if his whole entire Message of Islam
[11:42]was not delivered and once that message was delivered Islam was completed
[11:57]Allah subhana T says [Music] what is this message the prophet Sall
[12:10][Music] said I leave behind you two wey things for as long
[12:25]as you hold tie to them you will never ever go astray
[12:30]the book of Allah the Quran and my holy progeny the in
[12:34]another Hadith the prophet instructs us he says three things the love
[12:47]of your Prophet three things you teach your kids the love of
[12:50]your Prophet the love of his holy progeny and then the recitation
[12:56]of the Holy Quran so in summary the road to Allah is
[12:59]following the holy prophet and his will of following the holy progeny
[13:04]of the holy prophet and holding tight to the Holy Quran beautiful
[13:11]right however in this whole thing where does the lady we honor
[13:17]tonight say where is she placed in this whole equation brothers and
[13:22]sisters if we were to analyze the you will find a unique
[13:33]impeccable personality that made this whole thing happen how F she was
[13:40]the inheritor of who of the final Prophet after over 124,000 prophets
[13:47]that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala sent from the start of this Earth
[13:50]until now and she was also through her progeny the initiator of
[13:56]the F of the second Imam and so on so F was
[14:02]what she was the link the bridge between and IM brothers and
[14:10]sisters if you if I hold two light bulbs perfect beautiful and
[14:13]I want them to L if I don't have a cord if
[14:18]I don't have a link it's almost impossible to make them work
[14:21]likewise there had to be a connection between and IM and Fa
[14:28]was that connection that's why we hear that one of the nicknames
[14:32]of that she's given is Whata in English is a millstone pretty
[14:41]much it's two pieces of frog that are put on top of
[14:46]one another and it's used to grind wheat or other grains and
[14:51]is that pole that you put in the middle that holds these
[14:56]two pieces together so that is f that's the role that she
[15:00]played in this whole equation she was the best and most perfect
[15:04]resemblance to the holy prophet sallallah alai wasam from his mannerism all
[15:10]the way to even the way she walked that's why the the
[15:16]infamous Hadith FAA is a part of me truly she was part
[15:25]of the holy prophet but faam to the prophet wasn't just a
[15:29]fruit in a tree because the fruit once picked will not die
[15:33]it can live a little bit more you can still make H
[15:38]out of it f to the prophet was like a branch like
[15:40]a trunk as soon as the root the foundation Muhammad wasam departed
[15:47]this world she couldn't bear staying in it hence her departure months
[15:52]after his departure another question I impose is if you if Fatima
[15:57]was part of the holy prophet the holy prophet was in isn't
[16:01]it only just to say that was reflective of the attributes of
[16:09]the main source isn't she also infallible some people might come and
[16:13]say you know yes she's special but Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaih wasallam
[16:18]was a little biased because at the end of the day he
[16:23]was a father so he just said that I ask you how
[16:25]just is it to put in the same scale Prophet Muhammad s
[16:29]wasam and what he says and what an ordinary person does reflect
[16:35]back on verse 3 and 4 and he does he doesn't speak
[16:44]out of his own desire it is not but Revelation that is
[16:47]revealed that is Muhammad billions upon billions of women stepped foot on
[17:00]this world from the start of creation until today but fa is
[17:04]the Mistress of every mother of every daughter of every sister of
[17:10]every single woman that came to this world the question comes into
[17:13]place did Fatima Alam reached that level end stage simply because she's
[17:18]the daughter of the holy prophet simply because of justifications due to
[17:23]her lineage and her closeness to holy prophet I beg to defer
[17:29]f was a perfect character she was the definition of perfection if
[17:33]I had to put it into perspective so in these very few
[17:40]moments I will try to just shed light on two small little
[17:42]aspects and D Dimensions to know the greatness of the the lady
[17:47]of FL faam I can go and talk about the stories that
[17:49]we all heard about how she would donate her wedding dress in
[17:53]the night of her wedding how she would uh sustain or prevent
[17:56]herself from eating after fasting for 3 days with her children because
[18:00]of love to towards Allah and her giving the food away to
[18:06]a poor person to a person uh who is a wayf farer
[18:10]I can do that but I'd like to give something a little
[18:15]different before I do that I want to clear one misconception a
[18:21]huge misconception that we as humans have is when we set a
[18:27]role model it has to be under specific criteria meaning fa is
[18:31]seen as a perfect role model for the women she's the perfect
[18:36]when you when you mention sayam she's the manifestation of modesty of
[18:41]Chastity of hijab meaning that because she's a woman then she's attributed
[18:45]towards being a role model for women only unfortunately we do not
[18:53]realize that when it comes to the material materialistic world we live
[18:57]in yes we fail to be just with every sing single uh
[19:00]gender or every single difference whether it's gender race we are a
[19:06]little bit biased but in the eyes of our creator Allah subhanahu
[19:10]wa'ta'ala it's not in the spiritual world is different Prophet Muhammad s
[19:17][Music] alai he says Allah subhanahu waala does not look at your
[19:36]appearance doesn't look at your looks doesn't look at your wealth he
[19:40]looks at your hearts he looks at your actions therefore when we
[19:47]say faam is a role model we are analyzing her attributes her
[19:53]principles her values that she embodied that she reflected and in that
[19:59]is a lesson for all of humanity with the multitude of the
[20:04]differences that Humanity brings from race from gender from beliefs from backgrounds
[20:09]the first thing of two that I would like to discuss is
[20:18]her categorized love what do I mean by that fa as the
[20:23]daughter of the final Messenger as the wife of the first Imam
[20:27]as the mother of of the Masters of the Youth of paradise
[20:32]she was a waterfall of love she was that listening ear she
[20:39]was that supportive figure she was that entity that never failed to
[20:44]give and show love hence you know the stories when she was
[20:46]a small little kid she would take the dirt off the back
[20:50]of the holy prophet when it's being thrown from the pagans uh
[20:53]hence how she would heal the wounds of IM Ali Alam after
[20:58]he comes from the battlefield however he realized that within all this
[21:04]F's ultimate goal ultimate pleasurement was towards Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and
[21:13]that is embodied and reflected and proven in one of the narrations
[21:18]that on Judgment day before she enters Paradise she would say or
[21:28]Allah you are the goal you are the destination and you are
[21:35]beyond the destination she combined the love of Allah subhanahu wa taala
[21:38]and the love of his creation but the priority was given towards
[21:42]Allah now put that into perspective with us humans of today we
[21:48]how many times we put Allah subhana wa tala as secondary as
[21:55]the next choice he's not part of our priority we are so
[21:57]easy to be lenient when it comes to the commands of Allah
[22:01]subhanahu wa ta'ala we're so easy to pass them we are so
[22:03]easy to belittle them it's time for prayer but I'm with my
[22:08]friend you know what I'll just pray later I'm invited to a
[22:11]gathering that I'm not supposed to attend but you know what Allah
[22:15]subhana I'll just go however if your friend if you make Injustice
[22:22]towards your friend and he's mad at you you will not sleep
[22:23]at night thinking about how I can come back and regain his
[22:29]confidence and his relationship but we neglect that the most important connection
[22:33]that we can ever initiate in this world which is with our
[22:35]creator it's secondary so the first lesson we learned from Fatam is
[22:43]to be loving but to set the priority meaning categorize Your Love
[22:48]what do I mean by that first layer should be your love
[22:55]towards your family towards your friends that is necessary that should be
[23:01]in its own layer and then on top of that you have
[23:05]unique love to the pious Believers and worshippers of Allah the aah
[23:09]of Allah and in the front line the holy prophet and His
[23:13]holy progeny finally the last uh part of that hierarchy is space
[23:22]purely and exclusively for divine love love towards Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[23:27]and in this hierarchy all of your actions should ultimately lead to
[23:33]gaining the love and closeness of Allah subhanahu so that is the
[23:41]first lesson we learn the second lesson that we learn Isam was
[23:48]a multi-dimensional figure meaning that she perfectly balanced her obligations towards her
[23:57]Creator and and his creation the same way she balanced her love
[24:02]when it comes to time of worship fa wouldn't do any less
[24:08]than her father and her husband she would spend the the night
[24:11]in prayer tears shedding out of love out of all supplications voluntary
[24:21]fasting but when it comes to the daytime does faam say I
[24:26]have my religious duties that means I don't have time for social
[24:31]duties no when it came for the need for her to stand
[24:33]up against Injustice she did when it came to her duties as
[24:41]a household wife let's look at how she made the house a
[24:44]place of Harmony a place of peace and remember she was only
[24:50]she lived only until the tender age of 18 look at how
[24:56]Imam describes Fatima in the house he would say she carried water
[25:00]using a water skin until it scarred her chest she grammed using
[25:06]a high a hand Mill until blisters started showing in her hands
[25:10]she swept the floor until her clothes were filled with dust she
[25:17]lit fire under the cooking pot until her her clothes turned so
[25:24]dark from this smoke that is fa when it comes to us
[25:29]it's like we are in a mood I'm in a work mood
[25:32]and that's it I forget all about worship I'm in a worship
[25:34]mood I forget all about work we cannot balance through fa we
[25:39]learn that to a a real believer a True Believer is able
[25:45]to Encompass both aspects together but I come back from work I'm
[25:50]tired my sister my mother my father uh hello Hass how are
[25:55]you oh I'm tired please don't talk to me I need to
[25:57]go sleep I need to go eat mannerism doesn't exist you suddenly
[26:03]turn from being a worshiper of Allah to a friend of the
[26:06]Shan in Split seconds so we the second lesson we learn is
[26:11]how we can balance our duties towards Allah subhana Waal and his
[26:16]creation this is f her father was Mercy her mother was generosity
[26:28]her husband was bravery her first son was perseverance was strength her
[26:36]second son was was courage was sacrifice no matter how much time
[26:45]I spent how much I try I will never be able to
[26:48]comprehend the true value of fatim and I come towards the end
[26:55]of my speech and I'm going to talk a little bit about
[26:58]her departure brothers and sisters when someone does you a favor if
[27:03]you're a noble just human being if someone does you a favor
[27:09]you feel obligated entitled to pay him back do something to express
[27:14]your thankfulness and gratitude to that person the holy prophet the messenger
[27:20]of Allah subhanahu waala delivered to us that pathway that we eagerly
[27:24]SE to be able to seek the closeness to Allah subhanahu wa
[27:28]ta'ala to know him love him he asked for no reward except
[27:35]for one mentioned inah verse 23 and tell them oh Muhammad that
[27:46]I seek no reward from you but to show love and consip
[27:48]to my holy progeny look here how Allah subhana wa taala said
[27:56]what Ma Ma derived from w with that form of love that
[28:02]I that I shared with you that is intense constant Everlasting that
[28:07]was the only thing that wasam asked in return for what he
[28:12]did ironically it is the only thing or the main thing that
[28:18]we did not or they did not perform how can I describe
[28:28]the heart of wasallam when he Witnesses what has happened to the
[28:33]house of his daughter how can I describe the emotions in the
[28:38]holy prophet when he sees his son-in-law being struck while in prostration
[28:43]in prayer how do I describe rasool Allah witnessing his grandson not
[28:49]only poisoned but welcomed to his funeral with arrows and Spears how
[28:55]would he feel looking at his grandson Hussein his butchered killed in
[29:03]the land ofala what kind of Injustice did we put after that
[29:08]brothers and sisters let me ask you this question how is it
[29:14]possible that we lose such a diamond fatim in the tender age
[29:24]of 18 how is it that she died angry how is it
[29:27]that no one knows where she is buried how is it that
[29:33]she asked to be buried at night how is it that after
[29:39]the departure of the holy prophet she said calamities have been poured
[29:52]upon me had they been poured upon days they would have turned
[29:58]into nights how how is it possible and then we say it
[30:01]was just because of sickness brothers and sisters unfortunately F we don't
[30:16]know the thing that really hurts me the most is that I
[30:19]don't know where is the grave of fa when I think of
[30:24]Imam Hussein even with my shallow imagination I can illustrate Envision IM
[30:28]imagine his Shrine inala with say what can I connect with ad
[30:36]door unfortunately we don't know where she's buried however fatim is buried
[30:45]in the hearts of every True Believer that believer who before he
[30:51]commits any act before he utters any word he would ask himself
[30:57]is what I'm about is what I'm about to do going to
[30:59]please Allah is it going to draw a smile on the holy
[31:05]prophet's face is it going to make say proud brothers and sisters
[31:10]we have the best personalities unfortunately we have the worst marketing if
[31:16]you look at today's world look at who's headlining the news the
[31:21]most indecent of people why because the marketing is great we have
[31:25]those impeccable Perfections of of personalities yet no one knows them why
[31:31]because we who claim to be their followers we are not promoting
[31:37]them because people don't look at the names of the individuals they
[31:40]look at the principles that they reflect the values they possess and
[31:43]they show to the world so how is it that we are
[31:48]followers of the best of the best of the Perfection yet there
[31:50]is so much deceiving there's so much lies there's so much backbiting
[31:54]there's so much hatred and so on and so forth so for
[31:59]us to be truly worthy of calling ourselves followers for us to
[32:07]be truly saying that we want to express and show our love
[32:09]then Allah subhana wa tala says and do perform for Allah subhanahu
[32:18]wa ta'ala will witness your Deeds the prophet and the Believers with
[32:25]that I ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to give us the blessing
[32:29]of guiding us towards knowing him loving him and finally walking and
[32:35]reflecting and emulating the steps of the prophet and His holy progeny
[32:39]I deeply sincerely thank you for listening and in the same way
[32:46]I greet you I end with the Islamic greeting [Music] of h
