[0:00]that rasulullah when it comes to his life when it comes to

[0:05]his teachings when it comes to his biography when it comes to

[0:10]his remembrance indeed he is respected and indeed many people hold him

[0:15]greatly into their hearts and into their lives yet there is one

[0:20]sad element that we need to refer to very briefly the fact

[0:26]that our books when i say our books i mean the muslim

[0:29]heritage and texts the way they depict rasulullah is sometimes shameful for

[0:39]many of us in which way allow me to elaborate that when

[0:43]you come and examine biographies written about the prophet by non-muslims where

[0:48]do they attain their information from where do they get their sources

[0:54]from how do they recognize the position and the makaam of rasulullah

[0:59]and what i am going to mention now is not for the

[1:04]purpose of inciting hatred or in any reason causing dissension between muslims

[1:09]it's simply an academic approach towards a problem that we have and

[1:13]we need to tackle and face and for the communities to be

[1:18]aware of because today if you have a discussion and a dialogue

[1:21]with a non-muslim and they tell you that we have read yet

[1:24]the life of your prophet contains x y and z you need

[1:28]to be able to answer and to say that this does not

[1:32]conform with my belief what do we mean some of you are

[1:35]wondering what is this discussion about i'll give you one example the

[1:42]incident of the first revelation the of the holy prophet we believe

[1:46]it happened on the 27th of the month of rajab our brothers

[1:51]outside the school of bait they say it happened in the month

[1:56]of ramadan irrespective no problem about the dates it's a disagreement yet

[2:07]and you'll go to for instance imam tabari in history and you'll

[2:12]come across the following narrations that sadly have also found its way

[2:17]to some shia books some shia books have narrated this as well

[2:22]but they have said it is mentioned in this book what does

[2:26]it say imagine please concentrate this is about the first time the

[2:30]revelation is attained by the holy prophet when he was 40 years

[2:36]of age the narration in bukhari says rasulullah who is in and

[2:41]all of a sudden he hears read according to this narration says

[2:48]i'm not someone who reads three times the voice tells him he

[2:57]repeats the same thing at that moment the narration says that jibraeee

[3:04]took the prophet and at the same time hugged him so strongly

[3:08]that the prophet began to suffocate and he was breathless and then

[3:14]he left him he said to him three times the prophet said

[3:18]i am not someone who reads once again holds him so tightly

[3:24]that the prophet is breathless and cannot breathe and this happens three

[3:30]times until he says and the first few verses of chapter 96

[3:35]are revealed and the prophet leaves the cave when he leaves the

[3:40]cave he descends down to whom to hadith when he meets khadija

[3:45]he says to her i am not sure what happened she says

[3:47]to him what do you mean he says i heard voices i

[3:54]do not know if it is the jinn or if it is

[3:58]malaika khadija said i have a cousin by the name of waraka

[4:06]he says so rasulullah according to this narration he goes to araka

[4:12]says to him tell me what happened rasulullah describes to him the

[4:18]incident waraqa says yes yes yes this is also what happened to

[4:22]moses you are a prophet of god and you will be fought

[4:24]by whom by your community and if i was alive i would

[4:29]have supported you rasulullah returns back yet he's still unsure he goes

[4:34]to the top of the mount of the hera of the and

[4:38]according to the hadith in bukhari and it saddens me to say

[4:41]and i apologize to the maqaam of rasulullah and to the macabre

[4:46]of his grandson for mentioning it in the member it is mentioned

[4:50]in the hadith books that rasulullah on three consecutive occasions wanted to

[4:56]commit suicide to throw himself from the top of the mountain and

[5:02]ibrahim would stop him and say ya rasulullah you are a prophet

[5:05]don't do that rasulullah returns back notice this is the first incident

[5:10]in the history of islam and this is how it is depicted

[5:13]in some books he returns back according to whom according to tabari

[5:18]now we're going to tabari staff he goes to khadija he says

[5:23]to her i think it's a jinn she says to him i

[5:26]have a test for you he says what she says to him

[5:30]come and sit on my right lap he sits on the right

[5:34]lap she says to him can you see him he says yes

[5:36]i can see him she says sit on my left lap can

[5:40]you see him yes i can see him at that moment she

[5:43]takes off her hijab and says can you see him he says

[5:45]no i can't see him she says then no it's an angel

[5:50]and it's not a jinn what and how do our scholars argue

[5:54]or dispute this particular narration please pay attention for a few moments

[5:57]we are told number one the problem with this narration is what

[6:01]that rasulullah in the quran allah this is my way i invite

[6:16]people towards the path of allah on yakin this is all revelation

[6:29]how is it number one that at the beginning of the revelation

[6:34]rasulullah is doubtful doesn't this cast doubt about the whole religion itself

[6:39]wouldn't someone come forward and say that the beginning of your religion

[6:43]is based on uncertainty it's on shaky grounds that even your prophet

[6:49]didn't know whether he was a prophet or not even your prophet

[6:52]wasn't aware that he was a prophet or not wasn't it number

[6:56]one number two doesn't this story tell us or give us a

[7:03]a an idea that khadijah and waraka no fell are what are

[7:06]more knowledgeable than rasulullah god forbid because they knew and the prophet

[7:13]didn't know that khadijah said let's go and khadija said sit on

[7:16]my right lap and my left neck and therefore she had certain

[7:18]knowledge that rasulullah didn't number three the other problem that we have

[7:25]with this hadith is that whoever fabricated it did not understand that

[7:30]have no when it comes to malachi it's not about this idea

[7:34]of hijab or not because when khadija took away hijab and this

[7:38]so-called malaika disappeared this does not make any sense because de malaka

[7:44]are there when females have no hijab on there is no shower

[7:48]they have no desire unlike human beings therefore they do not disappear

[7:53]or you know in other ways occur or happen to be at

[7:58]a certain place when a hijab is put on or hijab is

[8:02]put what off and number four how can anyone accept the idea

[8:08]that the prophet of islam would contemplate performing such a vile unacceptable

[8:15]action such as suicide totally rejected and has no place in our

[8:24]understanding therefore what does the school of albeit say this school of

[8:32]be accepted what happened was that rasulullah was visited and he was

[8:39]anticipating it he knew that rasulullah was a prophet from birth just

[8:43]like all the prophets of allah this is the school of albeit

[8:47]yet at the age of 40 he received his first revelation he

[8:50]was waiting he was worshiping allah subhana wa all these years and

[8:54]when he received the revelation when he was told he said what

[8:59]should i read this is the school of adam and when he

[9:04]went to khadijah there was no this nonsense that he went to

[9:10]work and had doubts and went this way and that way he

[9:13]was full of conviction full of strength and iman and commitment to

[9:17]deliver the message of allah so imam sadat was then asked but

[9:22]then how do the prophets know that allah is sending them for

[9:25]the first time revelation imam sadiq replies back by saying allah places

[9:29]in their hearts allah gives them tranquility and assurance places it in

[9:39]their hearts in anticipation for them to receive the word for them
