[2:32]annoy muhammad in illusion my dear brothers and sisters continuing with our
[2:40]discussion about the story of del canaan last night we discussed his
[2:48]third journey we said that his first journey was somewhere to the
[2:54]west then he came back from there all the way to the
[2:59]east and somewhere he came back to somewhere in the middle that
[3:02]place he arrived at in the middle he found a group of
[3:08]people a community out there whom he had some difficulty communicating with
[3:12]but somehow they managed to communicate and talk apparently this group was
[3:19]not so primitive in their living apparently they had some some kind
[3:26]of a financial system because they told him that we have a
[3:30]problem if you help us overcome it we're willing to pay you
[3:36]for it so they're kind of aware of some kind of an
[3:39]exchange a trade of some sort however they still were unable to
[3:47]deal with the problem that they were that they were facing and
[3:51]this was a problem of security there was another group who continued
[3:55]to raid them on a regular basis and because of that it
[4:05]created a lot of instability in their lives and hence they asked
[4:10]the local 9 for help not only that apparently these people also
[4:15]recognized well Canaan halleluiah Dell Canaan you know apparently when they saw
[4:20]his army when they saw him somehow they recognized that he is
[4:24]able to help them unlike the second group for example that he
[4:28]visited apparently they did not really recognize the Canaan these guys apparently
[4:32]they had some sort maybe they heard about him somewhere somehow they
[4:38]knew that he was able to help them so he did and
[4:43]indeed he built them this well made wall that prevented their opponents
[4:49]their enemies from coming to them and raiding them so he managed
[4:56]to establish peace security for this nation upon seeing that it was
[5:00]a great wall and it did the job when those opponents when
[5:03]the enemies came they could not cross it he became humbled as
[5:14]opposed to arrogant and he said haha rahmatan McRobbie this is of
[5:20]the mercy of my lord in other words I did not do
[5:26]it all on my own so of all of our Las Karma
[5:30]not only this he was a good king they told him we'll
[5:33]pay you to do this for us he said I don't need
[5:35]your money whatever Allah has given me as much better than what
[5:40]you guys can offer me so he did not need any money
[5:41]and indeed if a man knows where to find iron and gold
[5:46]and silver and you know copper etc you can find all this
[5:49]then what would he need with people's you know offerings in addition
[5:55]to this whatever my Lord has given me Allah says anomic Anala
[5:59]who fell are we enabled him on this land and what else
[6:03]well our Tina Holman kulla shay'in Sababa we gave him we our
[6:09]Tina who we gave him of the means of everything so it
[6:13]doesn't need anything hamdulillah Allah has given him the best of whatever
[6:16]he wants in dunya and inshallah and Aharon he was an important
[6:24]point though that is mentioned here this group of people the third
[6:31]group cites a very eminent problem and that is the lack of
[6:36]security there is no security and because of the lack of security
[6:45]it's hindering our progress because every time we build something we develop
[6:49]something those enemies come they raid it all they destroy it and
[6:55]they go back then you have to spend the time of e
[6:57]building making it over again and you're still worried they're going to
[7:05]come back again and destroy it all again then you have to
[7:07]be built again and not only that now you're worried you're living
[7:12]in fear well they come back again at us when are they
[7:14]coming back etc etc imagine living in that kind of life where
[7:20]you're constantly worried because of that it will hinder your progress there
[7:31]is a famous American psychologist by the name of Abraham Maslow in
[7:41]1943 he published a paper a theory of human motivation was the
[7:55]title of his paper in which he gave prerequisites requirements in order
[8:05]for people to become successful interestingly Maslow unlike many psychiatrists or psychologists
[8:15]he studied healthy people Freud for example who's another famous psychologist or
[8:27]psychiatrist Sigmund Freud based his theories on his patients the patients that
[8:33]he used to have he used to examine them treat them and
[8:37]later on he formulated his theories so he was studying patients Maslow
[8:47]interestingly said if you study people who are not healthy then your
[8:56]theories themselves are not going to be healthy that's that's was his
[8:59]idea when it comes to psychology says you need to study healthy
[9:02]people so he can really develop healthy conclusions but that was his
[9:09]you know kind of philosophy so he actually studied people like Albert
[9:14]Einstein what makes in stein an Einstein why can't everybody become an
[9:20]Albert Einstein how come so he developed a theory that became known
[9:27]as Maslow's theory of motivation that what motivates people to work and
[9:33]that's what helps them to become successful that theory was then made
[9:38]into a pyramid and hence it became known as Maslow's pyramid where
[9:43]at the bottom of the pyramid are the most essential requirements and
[9:49]it goes up until you reach the pinnacle of the pyramid so
[9:57]what does he say he he gives four requirements in order for
[10:05]the person to achieve the fifth which is the pinnacle so there
[10:09]are five in total the first he suggests is an order for
[10:17]a person to start becoming creative to go on that path of
[10:23]development motivation the first thing you need are physiological needs you need
[10:30]food you need water you need air is what the basic needs
[10:34]that you have to provide every human with and that's a fail
[10:40]first need so what he calls the physiological needs your food your
[10:44]water etc I mentioned few nights ago if you remember there are
[10:49]parts in the world where people do not have clean water and
[10:55]they have to walk literally every day five miles at least in
[11:00]some cases even ten miles each way just to go to a
[11:05]well from which they can fill out their buckets of water and
[11:08]walk five to ten miles back so that they can drink this
[11:14]water if we are going to spend five to ten miles each
[11:17]way and then on the way back we have to carry this
[11:20]big jug or bucket of water on our head on our back
[11:25]until you get back just so they can have water is there
[11:28]time left for you to think is there time left for you
[11:33]to start becoming creative I mean your biggest worry is to keep
[11:36]yourself alive so let alone becoming creative and how to become successful
[11:41]etc forget all that your biggest problem is survival you need to
[11:50]survive and that's a major problem that's why I mentioned a few
[11:54]nights ago unfortunately according to certain statistics about 1 billion people in
[11:58]the world today are living in poverty 1 billion approximately which is
[12:07]a sad statistic when we have mashallah so much wealth and with
[12:13]all these billion of people dying you have nations signing contracts of
[12:20]450 500 billion dollars of military honey you know sometimes I just
[12:29]wondered you know do we live in a logical world or an
[12:34]world of insanity you know brothers let me just give you an
[12:37]example you're walking by on the street you see someone dying someone
[12:41]literally is dying in front of you because they don't have food
[12:44]it's dying right there and you'll leave him it's like you know
[12:50]I need to buy my Aguila myagi that's more important than this
[12:52]guy you know so you go in and you buy a Nagila
[12:56]you know although some people I think might do that actually you
[12:58]know be like I prefer having my angular than giving him my
[13:00]money but another example or a better example as you see that
[13:09]person dying you go and you buy a gun instead do you
[13:13]think that's something as person with some sanity would do he is
[13:18]dying on the street literally he needs that five dollars of yours
[13:21]so that he can survive instead of giving him the five dollars
[13:24]you go and you buy yourself a gun does that make any
[13:29]sense to you if you see someone doing that what do you
[13:34]call him what you'd call that person I don't know but that's
[13:36]what's happening in the world today four hundred fifty billion dollars to
[13:41]create jobs at the expense of 1 billion people who are dying
[13:48]in the world out there I was driving the other day here
[13:50]in the city in the city I was driving and I saw
[13:54]a billboard just a couple days ago a big billboard it said
[13:57]why do one and six children in the USA have to struggle
[14:08]with hunger one in six children in the United States have to
[14:13]struggle with hunger and they're asking why why is that the case
[14:20]I mean it'll be an interesting question I don't know I don't
[14:23]have an answer for it to be honest with you I don't
[14:26]know what the answer is but nonetheless that's a problem so physiological
[14:31]needs are the basic needs that one needs to provide that's what
[14:37]he says second is what he calls security you need security you
[14:44]need to have a shelter a house you need to have what
[14:49]he calls also financial stability you have don't have to worry about
[14:53]your money you don't have to worry about your food I said
[14:55]remember couple nights ago alhamdulillah we're so blessed living here what hamdu
[15:00]lillah that we are fasting we don't even have to worry about
[15:08]afar it's not something that is of concern to us there is
[15:12]always say one hamdulillah rabbul aalameen whereas some people some parts of
[15:17]the world they have to worry they'd have no smog nothing there
[15:21]fasting the whole day with nothing so security is important they need
[15:29]security or some parts of the world where there are as we
[15:31]read in the papers and we see on television bombings happening here
[15:34]you know killings happening there people at the time of this time
[15:40]of the year I remember last year same time same time in
[15:43]one of those countries people were shopping preparing for their aid in
[15:50]a mall at the shopping centre in one of the Muslim countries
[15:53]and unfortunately an explosion happens that kills hundreds of people who are
[15:57]about to celebrate Eid that celebration turned into as a catastrophe a
[16:03]problem for them so imagine living such a condition where you go
[16:09]outside you don't know if you're going to come back alive I
[16:11]mean that's another blessing that we have brothers and sisters and hamdulillah
[16:15]you guys left your homes today coming to them centre well hamdulillah
[16:19]rabbi l-'alameen and you don't have to worry about security at hamdullah
[16:23]that's a big nightmare that's why the prophet sallallaahu well our prophet
[16:28]says Nemeton unit on a so hard well Aman it says to
[16:34]blessings are forgotten about people forget about them how great they are
[16:37]- what are they health and security you hear sometimes people in
[16:45]the holy month of Ramadan Ya Allah helped me succeed in my
[16:48]exams Allah helped me for example increasing my Rosalia Allah give me
[16:53]more money Allah give me a big house y'all lah give me
[16:55]a better job and sometimes people forget you Allah keep me healthy
[16:58]which is a very important ah but they take it for granted
[17:03]because we're always healthy when hamdullah lovable I mean at least some
[17:08]people are so people forget but within a second that health could
[17:11]be taken away from you and then that's the biggest Nana Allah
[17:14]can give you I remember one of the meaning once told me
[17:21]that many years ago many years ago in Iraq many years ago
[17:26]I mean maybe what many years ago about 60 60 or so
[17:30]years ago he said that there was a person who owned wood
[17:36]shop you know a wood so he had a warehouse full of
[17:39]wood used to sell wood different kinds difference you know how you
[17:43]go these days to these big you know Depot stores to buy
[17:46]wood this guy had you know one of those stores to sell
[17:50]wood they came to him one day and they told him that
[17:53]your warehouse is burning Scott on fire he came and he started
[18:01]looking at the warehouse instead of like smiling like this people thought
[18:06]this guy lost his mind you know that's it I think he's
[18:11]just finished he's just and back in those days there was no
[18:13]insurance there is nothing this is all your whole investment right in
[18:17]front of your eyes burning right in front of your eyes literally
[18:21]so he's that people thought that this guy's gone crazy a little
[18:25]bit but then you know upon you know somebody came to him
[18:28]and said are you okay everything is okay I mean you seem
[18:30]to be laughing at this you know it's like well I have
[18:33]two options I either cry or I laugh you know so I'd
[18:35]rather laugh you know I mean if I cry and then I
[18:38]start you know shouting and weeping and crying that's not gonna bring
[18:42]my wood back you know it's gone Hollis but hamdulillah I still
[18:48]have my health I still have my health I still have my
[18:51]reputation as a businessman I can with my reputation I can go
[18:56]you know maybe get some wood here and there and try to
[18:59]build again try to work it again I have my health I
[19:03]have my reputation I have those people can help me out you
[19:07]know kalos that's great great attitude to have you know this is
[19:12]what we call you're looking at things the cup is half full
[19:14]that's what we call a positive attitude which is extremely important in
[19:19]success one of the criteria of success to have a positive attitude
[19:21]a positive outlook one of the ways to have actually inner peace
[19:24]is to have a positive outlook at things you always look at
[19:29]the cup half full look at always the plus sign the positive
[19:31]never mind the negative so that's something important security is extremely important
[19:38]so according to mass law first thing is physiological needs second is
[19:45]your security needs interestingly before we move on to the next one
[19:50]the Orang makes a reference to these in a different surah do
[19:55]you guys know so at polish Polish bismillah r-rahman r-rahim Lila fish
[20:04]ela for him little cheetah it was - Yahoo - Elodie mashallah
[20:13]very good mashallah and then what are the last two up Amma
[20:16]home in German and when what are many home then how which
[20:23]two blessings does Allah list upon flesh after Amma home enjoy why
[20:28]many home how he fed them from hunger and he protected they
[20:34]blessed them with security he protected them from fear OAH had that
[20:41]blessing because they had the Kaaba Mecca had the Kaaba so usually
[20:44]travelers caravans used to make Matt care what we call today like
[20:47]the pit stop now people would stop in Matt care to do
[20:52]a pilgrimage remember I said that they had the remnants from the
[20:55]teachings of a smile alehissalaam so these guys had understanding in fact
[21:00]they lose to do power off around the Kaaba although they used
[21:02]to do it off in a different way they used to do
[21:06]say ie between you know Safa and Marwah but in a different
[21:08]way in different style different manner but nonetheless they had these kind
[21:11]of remnants you know the leftovers of the teachings of ibraheem and
[21:15]ismaeel alehissalaam so that kappa had some reverence these people when they
[21:20]used to come caravans used to stop in Mecca well that's great
[21:25]for business that's what you call it tourism so you always had
[21:28]caravans coming and out so that's great that drives economy so always
[21:32]never had to worry about food you always had business trade second
[21:38]thing is because of the reverence of the Kaaba people would not
[21:44]attack Mecca so Mecca was living at peace whereas in pre-islamic Arabia
[21:48]the attitude was the minute my tribe becomes stronger than your tribe
[21:53]gets what we're rating you guys and we're stealing all your goods
[21:56]and we're coming back and not only that we'll take you as
[22:01]slaves as well you know that was the attitude so people lived
[22:03]in constant fear that's why you would find tribes mashallah I don't
[22:09]have to worry about physiological needs of hamdulillah block me thank you
[22:10]so people will live in constant fear that's why people used to
[22:18]have a lot of children they wanted boys sometimes they would call
[22:21]their boys like some scary names like you know nimac like soccer
[22:25]you know rock you know and these names were still there and
[22:30]until now we hear people naming the same names fed acid and
[22:34]so on so forth lion you know Panther Tiger etc etc these
[22:39]names are still there but those names were to scare the enemies
[22:41]that you know we have boys we have men to protect us
[22:46]so that was something back in those days matka did not have
[22:51]to worry about it especially especially after what happened to Abraha the
[22:57]king who came to destroy the Kaaba and Allah destroyed him especially
[23:02]you know that which surah is that mentioned in so it will
[23:06]feel exactly masha'Allah very one boy masha'Allah you guys are smart people
[23:09]here tonight 100 Allah so I'll feel it's like you know the
[23:13]other day one you know it said one day a man came
[23:14]to pray behind this is true story actually it used to happen
[23:18]back in the old days a man came to pray Salah Tajima
[23:20]are behind one of the ships and the ship decided to attend
[23:23]a meal after sura al-fatiha he decided to attend a meal the
[23:26]next day you know certain name it is a bit of a
[23:29]longer surah you know so next day this man came to him
[23:32]and said you know Nana means ant right band so the next
[23:36]day this man comes to him I said tonight after salat al
[23:39]Yanni and the salat after a short but how would surah will
[23:43]you be reciting tonight is it tonight I'll be setting the feel
[23:47]insha'Allah the elephant tanana's if the end was so long how big
[23:52]is the field then beside the elephant you know so he ran
[23:57]away not realising that certain field is actually a small struggle with
[24:01]he was comparing sizes nonetheless but because of what happened which is
[24:06]mentioned and so it will feel the whole destruction of the attackers
[24:09]of the the army of Abraha people their reverence and their respect
[24:16]for the Kaaba and for maquette grew even bigger they said do
[24:20]not mess with polish anymore so they even enjoyed even greater protection
[24:25]so these are the blessings from Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala Quran mentions
[24:29]them food and security these are important things that's why brothers and
[24:36]sisters good always on a regular basis to thank Allah every day
[24:39]if you can after every wash a lot every mandatory prayer walk
[24:43]ice-o-matic fetcher just do salute quickly and at least say alhamdulillah alhamdulillah
[24:51]alhamdulillah three times three times a hamdulillah at least that is called
[25:01]the salute of gratitude since there to Chicago to Allah of course
[25:04]it is also must up to say the hundred times if you
[25:06]have time to go to Sudan hundred times say sugar vanilla sugar
[25:12]vanilla shukran Leela but if that you don't have time at least
[25:15]three times Shukur Allah Shukur Allah Shukur Allah o al hamdulillah al
[25:20]hamdulillah al hamdulillah it's good it's good to eat Manoj a to
[25:24]Shahi lean when I doubt to chuck it in as a prayer
[25:28]taught my Imam Sajjad Ali as Salam try to learn these doors
[25:30]they're beautiful they're good ways to start our days to start our
[25:33]morning to keep in touch with Allah subhana WA Ta'ala so those
[25:38]two things that he mentions ok so first of all physiological needs
[25:44]second security third he says people need love and belonging they need
[25:50]to be loved they need family family is important the human being
[25:55]is a social being he needs people so therefore another requirement in
[26:03]that ladder of mass law is the sense of belonging you need
[26:07]to belong someone somewhere you need to be loved you need to
[26:10]be taking care of family is important that's a third one and
[26:18]that's why brothers and sisters always keep the bond of family a
[26:22]strong bond look after especially this time of eight is coming up
[26:25]with hamdulillah look after your parents look after your children look after
[26:28]your family is look after your cousins keep that family bond there
[26:34]to the best of your ability that's a third the fourth that
[26:37]he suggests is what he calls as team what is this team
[26:43]he says people need to feel that they are respected that's something
[26:47]important so people need to feel that they are appreciated that's how
[26:53]they develop self-esteem and that's something important according to him that's according
[26:59]to him that something important as team this is something where I
[27:04]beg to differ from him not to say I'm a psychologist you
[27:07]know so it's not really something for me fair to discuss about
[27:11]Abraham who's who's who's a psychologist by profession where do I disagree
[27:17]about this team Imam Ali of nebula epsilon Malayali says la testa
[27:22]hecho para el hoc lapel a tcellucci do not feel strangers on
[27:29]the path of truth because there are so few people following it
[27:34]if you see everyone doing something but that thing is not the
[27:40]right thing well I don't need people to approve of what I'm
[27:46]doing so that I can develop my esteem as long as what
[27:52]I'm doing is right is the right thing let me give you
[27:54]an example Imam Ali o gonna be a polyp salam on lawyer
[27:58]la became the halifa after about 25 years after the prophets death
[28:02]so 25 years there was a gap between him and the prophet
[28:07]sallallaahu allen till he became the Khalifa of course he is khalifatullah
[28:09]Allah appointed him as a khalifa but we're talking about the Halawa
[28:14]in terms of the political system out there the materialistic world after
[28:19]25 years he came to power people came to him they said
[28:23]yeah I'm your girl what meaning where are we a bin ABI
[28:32]Sufyan who's the ruler right now / sham he wants power so
[28:35]why don't you give him power you know what approve of him
[28:40]as the governor of sham in the meantime wait you just came
[28:43]to power don't rock the boat so quickly let him stay in
[28:52]power well what else pal hah and Zubair two important personalities companions
[28:58]of the Prophet they also want power so why don't you give
[29:02]them some power you know make pal huh governor of some place
[29:06]and make zubayr governor of another place no this way you start
[29:11]winning people's no respect he wins you win people's love once you
[29:16]become the halifa i mean one I mean you here's already the
[29:20]Khalifa but once your caliper gels you know solidifies once you kind
[29:25]of establish yourself you have the power everything then you can kick
[29:29]more alia out terminate him get rid of them because then you've
[29:33]already set yourself get rid of that hey get rid of Zubair
[29:40]and now you can start fighting corruption what do you think of
[29:46]that strategy the demand aria approve of it no he didn't he
[29:49]said I'm sorry that's not what I'm gonna do now here is
[29:54]a tyrant is oppressive pal ha and Zubair are not qualified to
[30:02]become leaders governors if I approve of their governorship now if they
[30:08]oppress anyone who's responsible before Allah subhana WA Ta'ala I will be
[30:15]that's one second if I approve of them now come to three
[30:19]years later for example I say how wiII I get out why
[30:23]how come well you know unfit to become a governor well why
[30:28]did you approve me for three years the three three years you
[30:31]know for years I've been approved as a governor what's the problem
[30:34]what happened now what changed now that would show a different color
[30:40]imam ali idea salaam is not a hypocrite whether i'll go below
[30:45]god forbid he's not a hypocrite i remember brothers and sisters it
[30:49]is mentioned in natural bilasa imam ali salam says more alia is
[30:52]not smarter than I am in politics and war however he uses
[31:00]hypocrisy I don't I'm not a hypocrite I'm a straight man I
[31:04]fear Allah subhana WA Ta'ala he uses hypocrisy tomorrow yet the end
[31:13]justifies the mean cheat lie kill do whatever it is as long
[31:15]as you can get the power doesn't matter how you know I
[31:20]mean that's not the way it works you have to go in
[31:22]the Salah almost a team I remember a few years ago when
[31:28]I was in university I was taking a class on Islam Islamic
[31:31]studies I had the professor who was a Christian man teaching Islamic
[31:39]Studies at the University at the time the professor one day in
[31:43]one of his lectures said Imam Ali ABI Talib was a good
[31:46]leader however he was a weak politician a weak politician when I
[31:55]heard this I raised my hand I said doctor what's your definition
[31:59]of politician how do you define a politician liar if that's your
[32:05]definition of a politician a liar then yes Imam Ali was the
[32:13]weakest politician if that's your definition however if by a politician you
[32:17]mean a man who respects people who respect humanity who fears allah
[32:23]subhana wa ta'ala who does not lie does not cheat does not
[32:28]betray is not a hypocrite then Ali of Nabi Saleh Ali sallam
[32:31]was the best politician you could ever have in the world after
[32:36]the Salah sallallahoalyhiwasallam what do you mean he's a weak politician he
[32:40]said well you know this he gave this as one example you
[32:44]know they told him why don't you keep more oh yeah you
[32:47]keep in our house obey whatever keep them happy and then you'll
[32:50]get hold of the power but he didn't do that I told
[32:53]him but that's why he's a great politician cuz he's not a
[32:58]liar it's not a hypocrite and I quoted this I told him
[33:00]did you hear what he himself says he himself says in natural
[33:04]Baraka how he has not a smart a politician that I am
[33:06]nor does he know a war better than I do but how
[33:11]here practices hypocrisy I don't I'm an honest man because I fear
[33:22]Allah I have fear of Allah therefore people went against Imam Ali
[33:27]ibn ABI Talib pal ha and Zubair rose to fight against him
[33:32]in a battle along with the wife of the Prophet Amina Aisha
[33:35]they all joined forces against him on Ali which resulted in the
[33:40]Battle of Jamel and about 20,000 Muslims were killed in the battle
[33:47]20,000 Imam Ali won the battle but then he forgave them all
[33:51]so you go everybody goes that then resulted in another battle the
[33:55]Battle of Siffin against more how we have never Sophia a battle
[33:58]that lasted for almost one year one year of war so many
[34:06]Muslims got killed including the prophet's companion i'm ali ben yossef ahmad
[34:11]the prophet's companion he was fighting next to imam ali IBN ABI
[34:15]talib alehissalaam and he got killed in that battle by the army
[34:21]of mahalia many people got killed but and that led to another
[34:26]war the Battle of Maiwand people started cursing a noob Nabil all
[34:32]about al bubala talking against him when i audible amalia started criticizing
[34:36]imam ali ali Salam from the pulpits he started using foul Awards
[34:40]against imam ali from the pulpits did that ever shake and shatter
[34:47]the self-esteem of imam ali IBN ABI talib you think no why
[34:52]because he knows what he was doing was of the pleasure of
[35:01]Allah it pleases Allah this is what is right think to do
[35:04]I don't care what people say and that's why I tell you
[35:07]brothers and sisters please pay attention to this point some of the
[35:11]sisters when I tell them where your head job the way that
[35:14]Allah wants you to wear it not the way that the fashion
[35:18]industry wants you to wear it they tell me you know I
[35:23]I want to wear you know a job the way that Calvin
[35:25]Klein designs Gucci banana Gabbana whatever Ana all these things I want
[35:32]to wear the style because it's fashionable I'd like to wear my
[35:38]head job in a way where like my hair has become you
[35:40]know the Leaning Tower of Pisa or the Eiffel Tower or whatever
[35:47]towers out there so that's how I like to wear my head
[35:49]job because this is a fashion I'd like to make my face
[35:55]you know all make up whatever everything on the nails whatever these
[35:59]things are that's how I want to be because otherwise I'm not
[36:02]beautiful and they tell them why do you not have believe in
[36:10]yourself you set the standards of beauty by following what Allah describes
[36:15]why can't we start wearing a bias for example or the dresses
[36:20]that are loose not tight most of our folk are and Mahajan
[36:26]say it is haram it is forbidden for women to go out
[36:30]with visible makeup it's Haram it's not allowed why do we have
[36:35]to wear tight jeans tight pants tight you know clothings which reveal
[36:40]more than what they conceal so that we can remain in fashion
[36:44]you set the fashion by following what Allah describes as Huck what
[36:53]did for tomatoes are the SLM wear what does a nevada has
[36:56]salam wear what did the families of a halal beta alehissalaam wear
[36:59]that is what we need to wear today what do the wives
[37:06]and daughters of allama adama by ulama I mean the scholars in
[37:09]Najaf the scholars in home the ulama that you see the Mujahideen
[37:12]how do you see their wives and their children coming out on
[37:19]the street with tights no they were the abayas that's what we
[37:24]need to train ourselves and our children to wear even if people
[37:31]started criticizing us it doesn't matter what we do we do because
[37:35]it's right not because of what people think is right that has
[37:38]resulted in what's called today there is a big thing out there
[37:44]among academics sisters and brothers you can look it up it's called
[37:48]objectification self objectification what is self objectification women are now treating themselves
[37:54]as objects because they're internalizing what people think of them and they
[37:59]want to make sure that they look like what people want them
[38:03]to look as opposed to what they want to look like if
[38:06]you want papers I can show you papers in fact one professor
[38:11]by the name of dr.
[38:13]Shelly Ghraib Shelly Ghraib she writes in one paper that 50% 5
[38:21]0 % of girls and undergraduate women in the United States suffer
[38:27]from physical and psychological and emotional problems because of the way the
[38:36]standard of the media of beauty the media's portrayal of beauty when
[38:41]these girls start looking at the media's portrayal of beauty they look
[38:45]at themselves they say my gosh I'm not beautiful even though Allah
[38:51]creates everyone beautiful but I don't look like her so I have
[38:54]to look like her and they start believing that this is what
[39:00]the standard of beauty is because that's what they keep on seeing
[39:04]repeatedly on the internet on television and the movies etc etc everywhere
[39:08]are on them this is what the sender beauty is and hence
[39:14]they become self objectifying they objectify that treat themselves as objects that's
[39:22]why there's a whole website that says no to objectification or something
[39:25]like that no objectification you know it's fighting against this kind of
[39:29]standard and this is something that's being discussed by professors academics and
[39:32]universities we're not talking about some Muslims non-muslims and all that stuff
[39:36]that's why I say subhanAllah the Quran in surah al-ahzab when the
[39:45]Quran talks about a job a lot of the prophets say to
[39:48]your wives and the female believers to wear loose clothing job even
[39:53]Jill Bob jalopy behin valleca Edna and your of not Allah you
[40:00]attain that is best for them so that they don't become hurt
[40:02]now some people say maybe it's the physical hurt they don't get
[40:08]attacked physically we say maybe that's part of it but we can
[40:11]expand it not maybe not only physical hurt could be the emotional
[40:14]hurt 50 percent of girls and undergraduate women in the United States
[40:19]are suffering I mean I haven't done the statistics but what numbers
[40:25]would that be how many millions are we talking about here 50
[40:27]percent of the girls and undergraduate women in the United States as
[40:30]young as age 7 can you believe it as young as 8
[40:36]7 is when they start objectifying themselves when they start feeling depressed
[40:42]they start feeling having a low self-esteem why because they don't meet
[40:48]the media's standards of beauty what is set by the fashion industry
[40:52]out there and then people ask well why did Allah mandate a
[40:59]job that's the reason Allah mandates a job one of the reasons
[41:01]one of the reasons to protect to protect society to protect women
[41:06]themselves people think that if I don't dress like what those guys
[41:15]dress even the boys even the boys mashallah I find them sometimes
[41:17]you know the other day I was praying someplace I won't mention
[41:20]where I was praying somewhere and then we were doing work or
[41:26]you know go to a court whenever we go to I have
[41:27]to close my eyes because of the guys were praying in front
[41:34]of me if you know what I mean and I'm thinking what
[41:38]fashion is this I mean at least dress in a modest way
[41:48]boys and girls both we need to dress with modesty whatever pleases
[41:53]Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala now if people will say well sure should
[41:58]I like you know walk out on the street looking I don't
[42:01]know like a monster or whatever like you know I didn't say
[42:05]that you know you allah subhana wa ta'ala knew that one day
[42:09]there will be some designers you know they'll come up with fashion
[42:13]so allah subhanaw taala did not say you have to wear this
[42:19]but Allah gave that outline the requirements so what does hijab first
[42:23]of all the physical form of the hijab is for a lady
[42:28]for example to cover her whole body head to toe with the
[42:31]exception of the face and the hands up to the wrist the
[42:38]clothings must be loose not tight so that they don't reveal her
[42:42]figure and they should not be made up of colors like fluorescent
[42:47]pink for example or things that will shine and attract attention they
[42:52]should be made of some modest colors and they're not allowed to
[42:59]wear any visible makeup when they go outside that's the head job
[43:02]the physical form of the hijab if you wear that criteria you're
[43:06]good in addition to this we have the social form of the
[43:11]hijab social form which is very important to boys and girls even
[43:14]more to show to the boys how do you talk to the
[43:19]opposite gender how do you interact with the opposite gender you find
[43:22]people sometimes sitting down together in a shisha bar mashallah a job
[43:25]and everything you know whatever and the smoking shisha together they're laughing
[43:28]together they're joking together whatever it is tomorrow hahahaha that is not
[43:42]allowed here we talk about the social form of the Hedgehog that's
[43:45]why Allah when he begins talking about hijab and forgotten or he
[43:50]talks to men first a lil mama Nena and he a hot
[43:54]woman of Saudi him say to the male believers to lower their
[43:56]gazes what is lower their gaze it means of course not you
[44:00]know you'll bump your head in a wall or tree or something
[44:02]you know it means that you don't look at the haram when
[44:07]you talk you talk with respect fatima Tassajara alaihi Salam used to
[44:11]speak to strangers but within the boundaries of the Sharia do you
[44:15]guys read happy full kisser weed how do you hook it up
[44:19]do you guys even know what has go sighs okay good hamdulillah
[44:22]how do you kiss up who narrates hadith Lucas all guys read
[44:27]who narrates said usually what's the first sentence that we usually find
[44:32]and who and jabbin abdullah al ansari and men and for women
[44:35]salam ala holly from jo'burg i've been Abdullah I'm sorry the prophet's
[44:39]companion narrating from who partner to Zara so who told Jagger about
[44:44]the hadith of kisser who told him father man Lal Salaam but
[44:48]she sit down with him and joked with him and laughed with
[44:51]him and smoke shisha with him and thought oh of course not
[44:53]well bubala while wearing her jaw while having her dignity speaking respectfully
[45:04]professionally teaching him the event of the Haeju of the kisser that's
[45:08]the way we need to interact this is something important now people
[45:12]tell me well I work at place where I have co-workers colleagues
[45:16]what do want me to do no problems as long as the
[45:18]conversation is you know professional within the professional real that's fine there's
[45:23]no problem with you having a conversation with strangers with your co-workers
[45:27]with your colleagues if you go to university or you have a
[45:30]project that at work that you're you know you have three four
[45:32]ladies and two three four men for example you're working together on
[45:37]a project and an assignment you interact within the boundaries of the
[45:41]assignment you know whatever the assignment dictates you have to work together
[45:43]cooperate together collaborate together within the boundaries of the Shelia as long
[45:47]as you don't cross the red lines no problem at all that
[45:51]is what's called the social page' which is a so if people
[45:56]criticize us that should not lower my self-esteem my self-esteem comes from
[46:00]they believe in Allah and my faith in Allah so that's where
[46:06]I beg to differ from mass law yes everybody likes to be
[46:09]complimented we all are human beings at the end of the day
[46:14]so we like the compliments but if I see people turning against
[46:17]me because what I said was the Huq the truth like imam
[46:22]ali people turn against him because what he did was the hack
[46:26]and the truth and i don't have to worry about it what
[46:27]i have to worry about allah subhanaw taala tomorrow i'm gonna have
[46:30]to answer to him so even if the whole world isolates me
[46:35]if I'm right I don't care I'm right if I as long
[46:40]as I know I'm right now that I think I know that's
[46:41]a problem as long as I consult I follow the lines the
[46:45]guidelines of the Sharia and I know these are the right things
[46:48]to do these are the right steps this is what we need
[46:50]to do moving on mass law says if you have the physiological
[46:58]needs if you have the security the love and the family you
[47:01]know that relationships belonging then you have the self esteem their respect
[47:09]finally you can reach the pinnacle of the pyramid and that's what
[47:14]he calls self-actualization self-actualization what is self-actualization is when you can really
[47:20]unleash your true potential you discover what you're good at and you
[47:23]actually do well at it so if you're good at painting for
[47:28]example you can really start drawing the best of the arts if
[47:31]you're good at literature you can write the best of poetry the
[47:37]best of novels you can win prizes prizes if you are good
[47:40]at science you become one of the best and so on so
[47:45]forth so that's what he discusses these are things which are important
[47:49]that according to mass law they required this really leaves me with
[47:53]one last thing whenever we see people trying we need to support
[48:00]them we need to help them out if you see some somebody
[48:03]for example who's young and they're trying something and they fail don't
[48:07]go and hammer them on the head like ah you just failed
[48:12]your failure you're not going to succeed in anything you know what
[48:14]you tried once it's okay maybe you can try a second time
[48:17]learn from your mistakes do you guys know who Thomas Edison was
[48:25]yeah what did he do what what was he famous for he
[48:28]did a lot of things wouldn't he what is he famous for
[48:31]the light bulb okay Thomas Edison says if quitters would only know
[48:37]how close they are to accomplishing their goals they would not have
[48:44]quit when he was discovering or inventing the light bulb of course
[48:50]Thomas Edison was a wealthy man he was a wealthy man and
[48:54]he did not do it for Bethenny lalala he knew this thing
[48:56]will make lots of money so so it was after the financial
[49:01]games but nonetheless it was a wealthy man so he hired a
[49:05]lot of people he hired people and their job was they were
[49:09]given what we call the periodic table you guys want the periodic
[49:13]table of the elements I gave them the periodic table of the
[49:16]elements is it there you try any solid any solid that you
[49:19]see on the periodic table try to make a filament out of
[49:21]it and use it in the light bulb see if it works
[49:25]so they tried iron it's burnt did not work zinc did not
[49:29]work copper didn't work Gold didn't work until they hit the bull's
[49:33]eye as they say and what was it what is it tungsten
[49:38]exactly we have another biochemists although that's pretty good you know even
[49:42]though they're biochemists but they know stuff you know because they have
[49:45]the word chemists attached to them you know that's why it's chemists
[49:52]were really important so tungsten succeeded so after all these failures they
[49:56]had a success but that success was a huge success it made
[50:00]him a fortune even though he was quite a fortunate man himself
[50:04]became even more fortunate so people need to try you fail that's
[50:12]fine you keep on trying until you succeed but always try to
[50:15]do your best put your effort in be patient and inshallah he
[50:20]will see seed last thing I'll leave you with of course ask
[50:26]people for advice these people of the plug nine when they did
[50:32]not know what to do they ask for help ask the experts
[50:37]for their advice don't ask people who themselves don't have a clue
[50:41]about what they're talking about for advice that's where we have a
[50:46]lot of problems especially when it comes to religion mashallah everyone becomes
[50:52]a fattie Hannah Alimentum Agatha bleed why do you do all this
[50:55]way well I you know I asked so-and-so he told me this
[50:58]is how to do although well does he know I mean has
[51:00]he been in the house' has he studied religion no well I
[51:03]just you know he's a good man and he told me when
[51:06]is eight Oh tomorrow a fellas for shook tomorrow's read that's it
[51:08]we're done well have they made an announcement no doesn't matter two
[51:11]hundred fellows have you seen that moon no no question it doesn't
[51:17]matter I saw it in my dreams you know if you don't
[51:20]know don't say anything ask people who know those who have the
[51:23]expertise just like just like when you become ill and you go
[51:30]to a doctor if the physician you meet tells you I studied
[51:35]physician online I went online doctor Google was my supervisor and was
[51:41]my teacher so that's how I achieved my degree through dr.
[51:46]Google you know would you want to be treated by such a
[51:50]person so ask people who have expert experience and same thing what
[51:58]surprises me sometimes especially the youngsters here there are people who are
[52:03]teenagers sometimes teenagers sometimes when they need advice instead of asking their
[52:05]parents for help they go as their friends I'm not you know
[52:11]putting down anybody here but your friends no matter how good they
[52:18]are they may be really good people but they don't have experience
[52:22]in life as much as your parents do as much as some
[52:27]elders do so you find sometimes they might give you an advice
[52:30]which is the wrong advice well say but she's my friend is
[52:35]my friend I know maybe in his opinion he's trying to help
[52:40]you but because of their lack of experience they fail you they
[52:44]tell you do this do that when you have a problem go
[52:48]run to the people who love you the most and they're your
[52:50]parents or go around to individuals who have a reputation in the
[52:58]community some reputable religious scholars some people who have a reputation for
[53:03]their wisdom in the community people respect them go seek their advice
[53:08]people who have the wisdom to help you people who fear Allah
[53:16]that's something important and that's why you find these people asking dhul-qarnayn
[53:20]for help his expert help us so that's another important lesson we
[53:25]need to learn when you have a problem ask the expert who
[53:31]knows what he or she is talking about who fears allah subhana
[53:34]wa ta'ala who fears the Asura and who cares about you the
[53:40]most ask those people I'm not saying you don't need to talk
[53:43]to your friend you know stop like you know shut them off
[53:46]block them now put them all blocks blocks blocks that's what I'm
[53:49]what I'm saying right now what I'm saying is that in serious
[53:51]matters you need to consult people who have the experience the expertise
[53:55]and no one is better than your own parents or their reputable
[54:01]religious scholars those who have a good reputation among the community to
[54:06]be wise to be god-fearing those are the individuals you need to
[54:09]seek for help so that they can provide you with the best
[54:10]assistance this leaves us insha'Allah now with one last lecture which is
[54:16]tomorrow night in sha allah about
