[1:05]help and donate whatever you can remember you are helping pave the
[1:10]way for millions to karbala and to imam hussain [Music] hello [Music]
[1:52]here [Music] [Music] bismillah foreign [Music] foreign is one of the most
[3:47]important woman in the religion of islam and the same time is
[3:51]one of the greatest personalities in the history of the religion a
[3:55]fundamental pillar in the life of the holy prophet muhammad peace be
[3:59]upon him and his family if ever you wanted to see the
[4:06]embodiment of patience the embodiment of generosity the embodiment of altruism and
[4:11]the embodiment of sacrifice in one human being then look no further
[4:17]than say the hadith be you muslim or non-muslim you can still
[4:22]learn so many lessons from the life of this great lady that
[4:25]even today when we see discussions of feminism and you see discussions
[4:32]concerning gender studies it's a shame that in many of the curricula
[4:35]that we see around the world and many of the syllabus that
[4:39]are written in these subjects there is hardly a mention of say
[4:43]that allows you to understand female empowerment she allows you to understand
[4:51]how a female can be a pillar within a particular area where
[4:56]men dominate she allows you to understand how a female can leave
[5:02]a legacy behind for every female in the world today because the
[5:05]reality is that say that is not great in the eyes of
[5:11]muslims because she is the wife of the holy prophet peace be
[5:13]upon him and his family or for example because she is the
[5:17]mother of father in the sense that she has her own merit
[5:24]her own position her own class her own status if you want
[5:29]to look for spirituality you look no further than say that if
[5:34]you want to understand how to engage as a female in the
[5:38]world of males when it comes to business and transactions look at
[5:41]say the hadith if you want to look at somebody who was
[5:45]seen as being also socially active and a philanthropist you look at
[5:51]say the khadijah sadly when you ask many muslims why do you
[5:55]respect say that they said to you bro because she's the wife
[6:00]of rasulullah or she's the mother of father okay but why do
[6:06]you respect her what is it about her own merit that is
[6:09]worthy of respect so on the first level when we honor the
[6:13]biography of say that it's because we're honoring her because of her
[6:19]merit not because of her association too many muslims if they respect
[6:23]somebody it's out of association rather than out of merit on the
[6:28]second level we honor her death every year probably more than any
[6:33]other sect in the religion of islam nobody is like the shia
[6:37]when it comes to honoring the death of say the khadija al-islam
[6:41]there are many muslims in the world who love say that but
[6:46]do not honor her when it comes to the date of her
[6:50]death when we come to the tenth of ramadan on the night
[6:51]of the tenth of the shah ramadan you'll find that shia worldwide
[6:56]come together to honor this lady therefore that accusation that you shira
[7:05]here i am sitting in london and there are many of the
[7:11]shia around the world who are watching this if we don't have
[7:14]respect for the wives of rasulullah then why are we honoring this
[7:19]lady tonight a person who doesn't honor this lady tonight is someone
[7:23]who has shown a lack of respect because this lady was with
[7:30]rasool allah 26 years of his life name me another wife of
[7:37]rasulallah who was with him for 26 years you can name me
[7:39]some wives were with him for nine years yet those nine years
[7:43]of one wife gets more accolades than 26 years with rasulallah and
[7:48]that's why the holy prophet peace be upon him family would mention
[7:53]on numerous occasions that when people rejected me for example she believed
[7:58]in me when people for example she accepted me when people rejected
[8:03]me she believed in me when people doubted me she shared her
[8:07]wealth with me when others deprived me which other wife of rasool
[8:14]rasulallah comes near that standing and that's why for us in our
[8:18]communities we should not stop naming the name khadijah i've noticed recently
[8:21]that the name like khadija is not seen as a cool name
[8:24]therefore you'll find many will not name their children khadijah what they
[8:29]don't realize is in the eyes of rasulullah this khadijah is the
[8:36]most beloved therefore when you name your daughter khadija she looks up
[8:40]to the most beloved lady in the eyes of the holy prophet
[8:44]muhammad and at the end of the day if i want to
[8:48]get closer to my prophet what better feeling is there than naming
[8:53]my daughter after therefore tonight let us examine the biography of and
[9:01]let's look at the impact and the legacy of this great lady
[9:05]and i'd like to do this in the following stages number one
[9:09]how was she related to rasulullah number two when she inherited her
[9:14]father's business did she go straight to the office or did she
[9:19]go straight to the kaaba and why did she go to the
[9:24]kaaba straight away upon inheriting her father's business number three when it
[9:28]comes to her business how did she meet rasulullah and how did
[9:36]her work by the name of masara describe the prophet peace be
[9:40]upon him and his family in his work and his earning and
[9:44]his trade number four when it came to her marriage was she
[9:47]previously married number five was she 40 when she got married and
[9:53]why is this number 40 always pushed number six when she got
[9:58]married and there was an objection by her uncle when the holy
[10:04]prophet proposed how did say that islam say uncle do not worry
[10:06]i'll pay for the dowry i'll look after everything and what precedent
[10:11]did it set in our communities today further than that who is
[10:16]it that read peace be upon him and his family further than
[10:24]that when the prophet received the revelation did she tell the prophet
[10:28]let's go to my christian cousin so he can verify if you're
[10:31]a prophet of god or not and how is this absurd and
[10:35]far away from our beliefs how mentally strong was said especially when
[10:41]mecca was calling her husband abitar and further than that and the
[10:46]shepherd of abu talib how did she give absolutely everything away from
[10:53]herself even at the end her own life and what was the
[10:57]only wasaya she left behind and did the meccans or indeed the
[11:03]arabs honor that was a year let's examine this and dissect her
[11:08]biography in complete depth as we know is the daughter of huelin
[11:12]who of course means khalid because sometimes when someone for example you
[11:17]speak with them ingest if you're called jabber they would call you
[11:21]joaber and if you're called khalid they would call you kuwaitlin and
[11:40]all of them were related through the grandfather so you found that
[11:45]these people in quraysh were people of honor people of respect people
[11:49]who were revered and above all else they were known as hanifs
[11:53]what's a hanif a hanif is a group of people who had
[11:59]followed the pure upright way of ibrahim alaihissalam we know that in
[12:04]mecca people had revealed nabi ibrahim no doubt they always respected ibrahim
[12:11]alaihissalam they knew that that kaaba was built by who ibrahim alaihissalam
[12:17]but unfortunately many of them had left the path of nabi ibrahim
[12:21]many of them had become mushrik and they were now idol worshipers
[12:27]and polytheists but that doesn't mean that if many people in mecca
[12:31]had become mushrik it doesn't mean that every family became mushrik of
[12:37]the families where did not taint them in the way that others
[12:42]were tainted was the family of islam look even his own uncle
[12:48]abu lahab was tainted by shirk but the majority of his family
[12:54]the line which was the pure line was a line of abu
[12:57]talib never tainted by abdul muttalib never tainted by shirk there were
[13:00]particular lines which were not tainted by shirk khadijah her father and
[13:07]others were never tainted by shirk by polytheism they were a family
[13:12]which was the pure family of hanifs a family who had followed
[13:18]the upright way of nabi therefore for them things like salah was
[13:24]still part of their life yes someone will say to me say
[13:28]it nasa in terms of how it was instituted was years after
[13:32]say that islam yes but that didn't mean that the likes of
[13:35]the prophets of allah did not find a way to pray to
[13:41]allah by the kabba salah all of these were part of their
[13:44]life when it passed away who inherited the business of the family
[13:52]say the khadijah and when we say inherited the business of the
[13:57]family we found that seda khadija the moment she inherited her father's
[14:02]business if you now know you've inherited your dad's business you'll find
[14:05]some people might throw a party others might go straight to the
[14:10]office others might think of who to employ you know what she
[14:12]did she went straight to the cabba and started doing tawaf around
[14:16]the kaaba why because firstly this is a razor and it has
[14:20]only come from imam what do we say oh my master you
[14:35]are the sustainer and i am the sustained who is there for
[14:40]the sustained except the sustainer i ask you all my dear brothers
[14:45]and sisters when you come upon an investment or you're taking over
[14:48]a business or you're working in a particular company don't fear the
[14:52]manager or the management and sell your soul for them even their
[14:55]risk relies on allah while everybody else would say let's set up
[15:08]a team meeting get everyone on zoom quickly i need to sort
[15:12]out who's my ceo who's my in charge of my product no
[15:16]no no first and foremost let me go to the lord of
[15:19]the kaaba and i'll do tawaf around the kaaba in thankfulness because
[15:22]what am i doing in tawaf in reality i'm recognizing what that
[15:28]everything is in fluctuation and movement there's only one constant and that
[15:32]is god all of us will one day be rich and others
[15:36]of us will one day be poor but none is like allah
[15:51]you are the rich and i am the poor who is there
[15:55]for the poor except the rich.
[15:58]was because she recognized many of us our result is because we
[16:07]care more about the marzuk than the razak we care more about
[16:09]how did they get that money what happens if they don't like
[16:12]me what happens if they don't sign the contract if we have
[16:15]to put alcohol there put alcohol as long as we can get
[16:18]that deal if we have to take them to a club let's
[16:19]sign the deal in a nightclub they are sustained you're sustained they
[16:26]came from a drop of semen and leave as a piece of
[16:29]dust you come from a drop of semen and will leave as
[16:31]a piece of dust as well you don't know where you're going
[16:35]nor do they know where they're going you don't know when you're
[16:37]dying nor do they know when they're dying therefore went around on
[16:41]pawaf and then after that she sat back looked at her father's
[16:45]business of course she remembered that let's give opportunities to males and
[16:51]females to work and further than that even if i'm taking over
[16:55]my father's business i don't have to be interacting in a way
[16:59]where i compromise my social and my physical hijab they used to
[17:05]call her amirat and others would call her the pure she knew
[17:09]that in the world of work the reality is that you could
[17:14]sit with your female friends but there may be times where you're
[17:17]going to compromise your hijab for example on a social level with
[17:20]your male counterparts so do i have to be at the forefront
[17:24]of every meeting no she had employed someone by the name of
[17:30]me sarah may sarah was somebody who was an agent for say
[17:33]the khadijah the arabs used to travel with their camels how many
[17:36]camels do you think say that hadith had one thousand camels that's
[17:41]like somebody who owns a company today who's got for example a
[17:44]thousand cars or vans or trucks at their disposal how wealthy must
[17:48]you be i'm not going to say say that was the wealthiest
[17:51]in arabia i could say that there are others like walid who
[17:54]literally used to swim in wealth but say that khadijah was at
[17:58]a very respectable level a thousand camels were at her disposal and
[18:03]therefore she had her agent by the name of may sarah and
[18:10]she had as well a confidant by the name of nafisa this
[18:13]mesara was asked that we need to find an agent who goes
[18:18]with our caravans where they would either go to palestine or they
[18:21]would go to syria or they would go to yemen or they'd
[18:24]go to egypt said that i need to go and i need
[18:27]to make sure that we find an agent who will take these
[18:31]caravans i khadijah will stay here in mecca but may sarah you
[18:37]find someone employ someone heard he passed the message that my nephew
[18:44]muhammad somebody who at this stage is looking for work look how
[18:51]rasool allah does not find it embarrassing to work you would think
[18:54]that rasulallah oh i'm a chosen one i don't need to work
[19:00]no it's an honor everybody has to recognize that there are 70
[19:06]levels of worship and the highest of them or the first of
[19:08]them is to earn a lawful living was recommendation towards when they
[19:25]travel towards syria for example this mesara would notice there are times
[19:30]where this would act different to others who were around him while
[19:38]everybody when they were taking a break was gossiping or slandering or
[19:41]backbiting he'd go alone somewhere and sit on the ground he'd look
[19:46]towards the heavens he'd be in moments what we would call today
[19:52]in meditation or reflection or contemplation where he'd be thinking about the
[19:58]world he said to her i've never seen like him in my
[20:02]life the way he operates he's not trying to con someone or
[20:06]scam someone he's trying to make sure that every penny as we
[20:08]would use in our language today ad and dnr in those days
[20:12]every single one of them is spent in the right way every
[20:15]single promise is not broken nobody is gazumped nobody is hurt said
[20:21]that the way he would speak he's a man of truthfulness a
[20:25]man of trustworthiness and on top of that he's doubled our prophets
[20:27]which ultimately all the arabs are thinking what they're thinking that are
[20:31]our prophets doubled or not so he said to her i have
[20:35]never seen anyone the like of when she heard that she's never
[20:41]seen anyone the like of rasulallah she felt something inside herself because
[20:45]it said that even one day while she was doing tawaf of
[20:50]the kaaba one of the jews who was near there in mecca
[20:52]had called out that listen there's going to be a prophet who
[20:56]will emerge here the jews had already known like the christians had
[20:59]known that there are certain predictions of a prophet to come she
[21:03]had already had something in her heart she sat with her friend
[21:08]nafisa like any lady you want to get married to someone you
[21:09]may sit with your best friend you may discuss imagine one day
[21:13]he proposes for me imagine one day i get married to him
[21:15]what do you think for example if this person comes and proposes
[21:19]you think we're a good match she sat with nafisa she said
[21:23]to her nafisa what do you think that if i want to
[21:27]put forward a proposal nafista said no problem i'll take the proposal
[21:30]we'll go to his uncles and we'll say that you want to
[21:35]marry him you are a lady of distinction how old was she
[21:37]at the time when she wanted descent how many times when we
[21:41]were growing up all you ever heard was say the khadija's 40.
[21:47]25 you always hear the same thing i found eight different opinions
[21:52]when it comes to the age of say that ranging from 25
[21:58]all the way up until 45 eight different opinions happy what is
[22:04]it what are we doing a theory of quantum physics or something
[22:06]so what's the age some will go towards 40 44 45 others
[22:13]no 25 28 and that's why you find when you analyze these
[22:20]it's not just scholars who talk about an age of 25 or
[22:23]28 you may find non-shia scholars in their discussions who reach a
[22:28]conclusion that say the khadijah was in her 20s why then the
[22:32]push on 40 maybe because it makes her look old whereas others
[22:37]were young it makes her look like she's been touched while others
[22:43]were virgin because they started to spread this idea that you know
[22:47]say the khadijah before she married rasulullah say that i'd already been
[22:53]married twice they say that if you go for example you'll see
[22:56]that she was married to a man by the name of abu
[23:01]halem and a man by the name of and that she gave
[23:02]one a daughter by the name of another a daughter by the
[23:07]name of hind and that's why i say the khadija's kuniya is
[23:10]what um she's they say that therefore say the khadijah was 40
[23:16]and say the khadija will be married twice what else do you
[23:20]want to do you can keep destroying her keep going going ahead
[23:23]go ahead because it's as if you want to find every single
[23:26]what you perceive as blemisher then if you marry someone who's 40
[23:30]there's no blemish there and if someone's been married before and has
[23:34]children there's no blemish there but not with this case this case
[23:39]was purposely done because this case was trying to make her sound
[23:43]like the old one because we know very well there were ladies
[23:48]who are married to rasool allah who used to complain about why
[23:53]he always mentions khadijah there was a blatant jealousy of say the
[23:57]hadith of these people against so what did they do and of
[24:02]course if you know if hen's grandchildren have got the pens or
[24:06]are narrating then they're gonna pay off people to say that this
[24:09]lady is married twice before she's already got kids with others she's
[24:12]already been touched by other men therefore she's not like the wives
[24:18]of rasulullah who it's haram for you to marry after the prophet
[24:23]married them and therefore no man has seen the men have seen
[24:27]khadijah and for example they've seen khadijah whereas who's nobody but we
[24:37]know that um for example was a widow and others were widows
[24:41]so maybe it wasn't against all wives maybe it was trying to
[24:44]put one wife against one wife that there's one wife young virgin
[24:49]never touched whereas there's another old been touched given him given others
[24:53]children for us it's not like these things affect me in my
[25:01]overall outlook of say the khadija salaam for me zedek remains the
[25:04]greatest wife of rasool allah with none coming an inch nine years
[25:14]living with rasulallah is that comparable to 26 it's not but sometimes
[25:21]historians work hard to put a stab into the character of some
[25:25]people true sometimes they put stabs maybe he was the one who
[25:32]the verse about don't approach salah while you're drunk maybe it was
[25:36]about ali they try and put a stab that imam al-hasan the
[25:39]man of divorces another stab imam hussain was a person who rejected
[25:44]what his brother always these stabs come into the books of history
[25:48]for us say the khadijah is the purest of the pure she
[25:52]then spoke to nafisa nafisa said let's speak let's go to abu
[25:57]talib straight away let's go we'll go with the proposal was ready
[26:03]wanted to see nothing else but the happiness of muhammad see his
[26:09]nephew settle down he was the kefir the one who had looked
[26:11]after this orphan where allah subhanahu wa said did we not find
[26:19]you an orphan and we looked after you had looked after rasool
[26:25]allah he had looked after him in every area so therefore who
[26:28]else is there to go to when you want to get married
[26:37]and yes some people will say well he hasn't announced his prophethood
[26:42]just because rasulullah hasn't announced his prophethood doesn't mean the likes of
[26:46]abu talib don't know that he's a prophet of allah they know
[26:48]he comes to him he says to him that there's a proposal
[26:52]and the proposal has come from who from khadijah the daughter of
[26:57]huelet her father was a man of excellent repute she is a
[27:04]pure lady a lady who has the best reputation of all ladies
[27:07]as there's no coincidence when we hear the hadith the four women
[27:10]of jannah who are they i said is that not enough for
[27:15]you to realize asia maryam yes when we see this therefore he
[27:21]said at that moment that the proposal has come notice the proposal
[27:25]comes from the lady to the man why in our culture do
[27:29]we only say man to the lady why can it not be
[27:32]the lady to the man if you like somebody you send the
[27:36]proposal they say yes they say yes they say no it's their
[27:37]loss or it's not your question why is it in the same
[27:42]way and the same way in the quran when shawib says that
[27:51]i want you to marry one of my two daughters likewise a
[27:55]father can take a proposal on behalf of his daughter abu talib
[28:00]came he said that there is no lady like hadith the highest
[28:03]repute and there is no son like muhammad he is the man
[28:10]of wisdom a man from the line of ibrahim every line possible
[28:13]that you want in a proposal came with her uncle amr he
[28:20]said no no we said no we're not going to give because
[28:23]there's a wealth difference here how many times that happens in our
[28:26]communities we're from a rich family and you're not that sometimes can
[28:32]be real because the reality is that in islamic law if some
[28:35]if a girl is used to living in a particular way then
[28:40]the husband has to make sure it's his wide job upon him
[28:41]that if she asked to continue living that way then he has
[28:45]to but on the other hand if all you're concerned about is
[28:49]someone's money then you've missed the point the uncle said what he
[28:54]said how much money you don't have the money who intervened says
[28:57]what other questions you have uncle you got a problem with him
[29:04]paying the mahara because you guys want a high mahar in some
[29:07]cases i'll pay the mahara i'll look after all the mahara i
[29:11]want to be married to muhammad i have found nobody in the
[29:17]whole of mecca who resembles his his iman his trustworthiness his truthfulness
[29:22]there is nobody of the like who read the nikah of khadija
[29:29]and rasulallah and you know when we give this argument because you
[29:35]know every year you hear people saying oh i'm not sure if
[29:40]abu and for those of you who doubt well his son splits
[29:56]heaven and hell anyway when you see abu talib reading that you
[30:00]know what non-shia i say yes this was before the quran was
[30:07]revealed after the quran was revealed then the act only can be
[30:11]done by but before islam before the quran a mushrik like abu
[30:17]talib can be the one who reads the accord we reply what's
[30:20]the difference his own hatred he and he's mentioning the lord of
[30:29]ibrahim the lord of the prophets of god what else do you
[30:31]need as in some of us are muslims that we don't even
[30:34]know about the lord or the prophets of allah and here he
[30:36]is making it clear in the the dowry and she said straight
[30:41]away let's slaughter a camel and there's a side of her that
[30:45]is wonderful what is it let's slaughter a camel give it out
[30:48]to everybody because there is no social philanthropist like lived in a
[30:56]time where baby girls were being buried alive we've read in the
[31:03]quran many hours either when one of them is given the news
[31:11]of a female to be born to him his face darkens and
[31:15]he tries to restrain the anger the female baby will ask on
[31:25]the day of judgement for what reason was i buried alive was
[31:27]known for one thing what was it any lady if her baby
[31:34]she fears for her life because she's given birth to a female
[31:37]come to my house in the middle of the night there were
[31:42]some it's narrated they came with a baby in a sack because
[31:45]if you're holding a baby the husband finds out he kills the
[31:49]baby so some would even put a baby in a sack to
[31:50]pretend that we're just carrying some food they'd come to say the
[31:54]khadijah middle of the night say the khadija said you got to
[31:55]wake me up at 3 am you wake me up at 4
[31:59]00 a.m it does not matter come knock feel free to enter
[32:01]because sometimes people with wealth become more generous sometimes people with wealth
[32:08]become more stingy it's amazing you have some with wealth who are
[32:11]unbelievably stingy but maybe that's how they became wealthy then there are
[32:16]others with wealth who are saying life is too short and there
[32:20]are people who have not been given the opportunities that i have
[32:23]so why don't i give from my wealth where's your husband he's
[32:27]going to kill the girl how much will it take not to
[32:28]kill give me an amount i'll pay social philanthropist her hijab wasn't
[32:35]just covering her hair there was a social element to the hijab
[32:38]where she became a symbol for the empowerment of the female in
[32:44]arabian society therefore what's happened she gets married to rasulallah and they
[32:50]built their house they continue their business they build their house they
[32:53]try and find a balance in their life not too much work
[32:58]and no concern about the terribly of the children because there's differences
[33:01]of opinion as to how many children they had some say that
[33:06]there was four daughters that were given others talk of one daughter
[33:22]and then we mention of course the sons because the sons they
[33:26]mention as two or three sometimes you hear for example about qasim
[33:31]sometimes you hear for example about you hear the name abdullah you
[33:38]hear all of these different names allah subhanahu wa ta'ala had blessed
[33:41]them with these children when he blessed them neither did rasool allah
[33:46]spend all this time out and not be with the children nor
[33:51]did she spend all her time business and not enough time with
[33:53]the children they knew of the utmost importance was the children but
[33:56]one thing for her as well that strengthened her was what was
[34:01]that even her with all her purity and all her faith allah
[34:07]tested her with the death of her children it's not easy i
[34:11]know that there are mothers out there who have had a miscarriage
[34:13]there are some who've had the stillbirth it's not easy when you're
[34:18]sitting with your wife she gives birth and the child is dead
[34:20]it's not easy when your baby dies after a couple months what
[34:25]do i say to all those mothers who are watching who have
[34:27]seen such a thing i say to them your role model the
[34:31]person you hold on to and you empathize with what say that
[34:35]imagine you have a newborn male dies newborn male dies and imagine
[34:40]arabia at least in our time we have phone lines we have
[34:45]family we have cousins we have hostels we have hospitals we have
[34:50]psychologists in that time arabia what were they doing because they knew
[34:56]very well that this person is a person of importance you had
[35:00]some who slagged her off and others who tried to come and
[35:05]help her of those who slagged her off you had those who
[35:09]were calling her husband [Applause] when the animals cut when the animal's
[35:16]tail is cut they say that it's ebtar and therefore the arabs
[35:22]would say muhammad where's your sons one dies after the other you
[35:28]abhitar how difficult must it be psychologically people say say it now
[35:36]why do we suffer why do we have trials look at rasulallah
[35:39]you think what their marriage had no child their marriage was one
[35:44]without difficulties who were the success is when you begin to love
[35:48]each other more over the difficult period you'd get tighter to each
[35:54]other when they saw that the child was dying she maintained her
[35:58]patience with those who are patient she maintained her patience others will
[36:05]say why are we going to the mosque why do you even
[36:09]want to read why are you even praying look my child's dead
[36:11]because some people even start having thoughts of leaving religion when this
[36:15]calamity happens on the contrary you i will be your backbone i'll
[36:20]be with you wherever and that's why my dear brothers and sisters
[36:24]when the revelation came to announce his nubor we have a completely
[36:33]different understanding of it from non-shia in the world we know the
[36:36]two main schools in islam the sunni and the shia when that
[36:43]first revelation of the quran came the sunni version is what which
[36:46]you can read in the saha whether you want to go to
[36:50]bukhari for example you can read it there that this holy prophet
[36:54]of ours was uncertain about this revelation and what you want me
[36:58]to read and then you read other piece of literature it's as
[37:01]if he's having a seizure wants to jump off the mountain and
[37:04]then he comes home in khadijah he tells her what happened and
[37:08]khadijah says let's go to my cousin a christian and he'll verify
[37:14]what this is firstly for me as a shiite do i accept
[37:18]such things of course i don't no chance why don't i accept
[37:23]number one my prophet had known jibrael before that day so why
[37:26]is he getting all scared when jibrael has come yes the message
[37:30]is a heavy message it's a heavy message but why would i
[37:35]be scared number two my prophet wants to jump off a cliff
[37:38]then why is he a prophet i could have done the job
[37:40]my prophet is the embodiment of an upright model of spirituality of
[37:47]honor of dignity the highest character number three when my prophet goes
[37:52]back to his wife hadith yes i agree with you he'd go
[37:54]home to his wife his wife would tell him let's ask a
[37:56]christian to verify if you're a prophet so why doesn't the christian
[38:01]become a prophet if you've got the ability to verify who prophets
[38:04]are then why don't you become a prophet why is it that
[38:09]i go to a christian to verify you really think say the
[38:14]khadijah would say let's go to my cousin and he'll verify that's
[38:16]not my say is who she is the lady who knew that
[38:25]the revelation had come she wrapped up her husband knowing that the
[38:28]mission was about to begin the word of the lord had come
[38:33]upon him she was the one who helped him at that moment
[38:35]and said to him that i will support you in everything that
[38:39]we're gonna face whatever we're gonna see in front of us i
[38:42]am there's your supporter none of this seizure suicide epilepsy jumping off
[38:47]a cliff wants to come back and it's going crazy that's not
[38:51]my prophet my prophet he comes home to say the khadijah and
[38:54]he has two back three backbones at that time who are they
[38:57]he mentions it in hadith this religion would never have spread were
[39:03]it not for the wealth of khadija and the sword of ali
[39:06]those were two backbones his uncle and why do i say that
[39:12]say the khadijah would not be baffled by rasulullah coming from the
[39:18]mountain because her and imam ali used to join rasulullah had the
[39:20]cave of hera years before anyone else even knew about the revelation
[39:24]as imam used to say i used to follow him like the
[39:28]child of the she camel follows its mother it was only me
[39:31]and khadija who were with him who is it that used to
[39:35]pray alongside rasulallah while others were mushriks polytheists worshipping idols slapping their
[39:44]sisters who was it that was with rasulallah right from the beginning
[39:47]and ali they were the ones and i'm not talking about when
[39:53]the revelation came before the revelation who fed ali was 10 years
[40:11]of age or so when rasulallah received the revelation or just a
[40:17]bit older so therefore you found that say the khadijah was not
[40:21]somebody who was baffled by this they used to go to they
[40:23]used to sit there they used to pray there they used to
[40:28]meditate there we're not talking about a wife of rasulullah who comes
[40:32]from a background of shirk a wife of rasulallah who came from
[40:37]a background of merrymaking we're talking about a wife of rasulullah who
[40:41]was in the line of ibrahim of those who knew jibrael and
[40:46]used to smell the scent of revelation therefore when that revelation began
[40:52]abu these were the very backbones and never once did she trouble
[41:00]him you see if you look in the quran my dear brothers
[41:01]and sisters those of you who are sitting at home in the
[41:05]quran how many verses have you read where wives of the prophet
[41:08]trouble him subhanallah look in i'll give you two soras to read
[41:14]whether you're shia or not all our quran is the same even
[41:18]ours is printed and saudi don't worry whether you are shia or
[41:22]not go to two surahs in the quran surah 33 surah 66
[41:34]not difficult to remember double 33 and 66 in surah 33 from
[41:42]verses which verses from verses 28 onwards we see the two groups
[41:47]of the wives of rasulullah who he even says those of you
[41:54]who want this dunya come i'll let you go those verses in
[41:57]surah 33 that says whoever of you comes out with a public
[41:59]peace of indecency will punish her double punishment but the worst is
[42:05]surat divulging secrets to one another and a request of tawba has
[42:11]to be done and divorce is discussed wives of the prophet in
[42:17]some cases gave him severe headaches they gave him headache after headache
[42:22]where's our booty from khaibar why is that you like this marijuana
[42:27]why do you like the zayn up more than us jealousy beyond
[42:34]jealousy i ask you did khadijah ever give him one headache one
[42:39]headache that khadijah ever give him he said allah did not grant
[42:44]me better than allah did not grant me better than khadija everybody
[42:52]else when they rejected me she's the one who accepted me others
[43:00]boycotted me she spent her wealth on me it's a tragedy in
[43:05]the muslim ummah that the grave of say the khadijah in mecca
[43:11]is forgotten neglected and gentlemen you go there someone's standing there he
[43:14]says to you this is nothing nothing just go go baba this
[43:19]lady's wealth is the reason you're a human if you want to
[43:23]you if it wasn't for her wealth you'd be like the rest
[43:26]of the arabs but this lady's wealth is the one that took
[43:30]you out of jai helia she was that backbone whenever they would
[43:35]come and attack her husband the likes of um jamil the wife
[43:38]of abu lahab and the sister of abu sufyan and hind and
[43:42]they'd gossip and slander who do you think was there and she
[43:45]gave him fatama she used her wealth to support him and the
[43:55]quran said we found you in need and poor we made you
[43:58]self-sufficient and rich through hadoop she gave him fatah and fatima a
[44:07]lot of her strength a lot of her patience was looking at
[44:11]the strength and the patience of the role model that was her
[44:16]mother hadith because when it came to that period as we know
[44:21]father when her mother died father azara was howled it was five
[44:24]years of age when her mother died and you look at fatherhood
[44:31]she would always be close to her mother witnessing everything that her
[44:35]mother witnessed especially the most difficult thing for her mother and for
[44:38]fatima was what the boycott of rasulullah and the early muslims by
[44:45]the quraysh the quraysh decided that we're going to boycott muhammad and
[44:52]the others nobody can sell food to them nobody can trade with
[44:58]them you don't even marry anyone from them you don't marry anyone
[45:04]from them having seen that there were 40 signatories there who had
[45:10]all gathered at minna to make this decision abu talib said do
[45:13]not worry we'll stand up against them we go to my valley
[45:16]a man who gives his valley to the religion of islam you
[45:21]have the audacity to call kafir allah this is the problem in
[45:28]our history the ones who gave nothing became and the one who
[45:32]gave his valley at her moment you know what a boycott is
[45:35]economic sanctions you see a country which has economic sanctions you can't
[45:38]breathe can you breathe you can't breathe when these economic sanctions were
[45:44]happening was a child can you imagine your child all of you
[45:48]living in one place and that time she'd come to her mother
[45:51]you know when her mother gave birth to her something broke her
[45:58]heart and something broke the heart of father later when she would
[46:01]hear the story the ladies of mecca all boycotted the mother when
[46:04]she was giving birth you know normally a mom this girl when
[46:08]she's giving but she wants her mom next to her this girl
[46:12]when she's giving birth who does she want next to her she
[46:15]wants her friends next to her you always want some support khadija
[46:18]was boycotted by mecca how many she had helped but imam ali
[46:24]al-islam says that beautifully beware of the evil of the ones you've
[46:29]been generous to beware of the evil of the ones you've been
[46:34]generous to and so khadijah on the day she gave birth to
[46:39]fatima looked at rasool allah do you see the lights he said
[46:44]yes he said these are the ladies of jannah allah sent them
[46:49]that if others boycott me they were with me are you surprised
[46:52]if mary comes to be next to khadijah are you surprised if
[46:57]asia is there are you surprised if other great ladies of mecca
[47:00]stood proudly there and made sure that they were loyal there were
[47:04]ladies who were there but this broke her heart that everybody boycotted
[47:10]my mom is that what happened when she gave birth to me
[47:14]my mother all of you just left her when that happened the
[47:26]economic sanctions had taken place there were days when fatherhood would be
[47:29]to her dad to her mom where's dad said he's sleeping in
[47:35]a different place tonight why because they want to kill him she'd
[47:39]say to her mom how much sabor you must have you know
[47:44]what she'd replied to her this is little in the way of
[47:51]allah that whole line hadith there is a common denominator between them
[47:56]whatever we see as suffering for them they see as little in
[48:02]the way of allah five years of age mom where's dad i
[48:14]want to see my father where is he and saying it's in
[48:19]different place okay no problem who's sleeping in his bed tonight ali
[48:23]son of abu talib father gets introduced to the young imam ali
[48:28]sleeping in the bed of rasulullah khadija what would you do with
[48:35]her wealth make sure whatever we can get here's my money you
[48:37]can still go out if someone can help us i may have
[48:40]some cousins or nephews in meccan society they may send us some
[48:42]bread give them the money give the money give the money give
[48:48]the money alongside her nobody is going to touch us we're going
[48:52]to stay here even if all of you boycotts us until that
[48:56]year became the year of sadness for us and no doubt when
[49:03]we honor her fat every year it's a year of sadness a
[49:05]day of sadness a month of sadness for us because it was
[49:10]then that abu talib alayhis salaam died because of the hardship of
[49:16]these sanctions you know in some cases they were eating plants in
[49:19]some cases because there's no one dealing with them from supermarkets or
[49:22]from businesses so in some cases they had nothing to eat and
[49:26]this khadijah would give everything away from herself until one night when
[49:33]the sadness had begun to overcome her rasulallah said to her came
[49:40]to me said allah has built for you a house in jannah
[49:44]on the one hand when he said that she was so pleased
[49:47]on the other he got the hint that this means that she's
[49:53]coming towards her final moments may allah give you all sabor wherever
[49:56]you are at home because this lady for al muhammad is everything
[50:01]even imam al-hussein when he came out in kerbal in his final
[50:04]moments he said am i not the grandson of khadija not my
[50:13]grandmother is rasulullah not my grandfather they loved hadith if he ever
[50:23]saw that one of his wives had insulted khadija he'd make it
[50:29]clear he'd look towards her and he'd say very clearly allah honored
[50:32]me with this woman this kind woman with the sons he gave
[50:37]me from hers well fatima what did you give me what him
[50:42]created you and you gave nothing back towards me nobody was like
[50:49]26 years and he could have married somebody else he was in
[50:54]his youth if muslims are allowed to marry four how comes he
[50:57]only stuck with khadija and nobody else because he made it clear
[51:01]that there is no love like my love for khadija she is
[51:05]the love of my life can you therefore imagine when he looks
[51:09]at her lying on the ground in mecca and sees the pain
[51:14]overcoming her and the pain that overcame fathamatazara normally when you bury
[51:24]someone you would expect that there is a shroud to cover their
[51:27]body but imagine economic sanctions dictate that you can't even have a
[51:31]piece of cloth to cover the body of your beloved he wanted
[51:37]a piece of cloth to cover that body he realized that there
[51:39]is no piece of cloth even available at that time the narrations
[51:43]mentioned that at this moment at this moment she looked at him
[51:48]in the eyes she knew that he was troubled by what was
[51:53]happening she knew that at this moment he was being affected by
[52:00]what was happening she told him come towards me he came towards
[52:08]her that final time when he came towards her that final time
[52:12]he looked towards her eyes she looked towards the eyes of rasulullah
[52:19]she looked towards him she said to him i have one who
[52:25]was a yeah he said what is it she said to him
[52:30]fatima look after [Applause] she looked towards him she said to him
[52:52]where is my mother my beloved mother prophet of allah what can
[52:59]he reply to fatima to the young fatima he knows that her
[53:02]heart is broken he knows that that young father used to love
[53:06]her mother and now her mother's no more the narrations mention that
[53:12]he tried to get a shroud he wanted a shroud to bury
[53:17]her body to bury her body with a full shroud he looked
[53:20]one way he looked the other he realized that there wasn't a
[53:24]shroud that was long enough it's as if they allude the jibrael
[53:32][Applause] if he gave him a second shroud it was to cover
[53:45]whose body to cover the body of father when she dies as
[53:50]for the third shroud who for amir al-mu'min when he dies as
[53:57]for the fourth shroud for who for imam al-hasan alaihissalam when he
[54:00]dies but if ever if ever there was a shroud that he
[54:07]needed then a shroud for the body of a barbarian all of
[54:15]those had shrouds when they died say the khadijah there was some
[54:19]sort of shroud another albeit with a rib that was broken imam
[54:23]amir mean another albeit with a head that was covered with blood
[54:28]imam hassan another albeit with arrows all over it but one man
[54:33]one man his body lay there for three nights with no kevin
[54:37]to cover him when khadija had died she had said that my
[54:42]wasabi is that you look after fatima that's all i want that
[54:47]you look after her and the rest of the people honor her
[54:49]fatima is my life fatima is everything to me make sure no
[54:54]man ever hits her make sure no man ever attacks her inshallah
[55:00]one day she'll have babies inshallah she'll never be in danger did
[55:04]rasulullah that he made sure that she got married [Music] of course
[55:19]he did rasulullah make sure that danger was averted that there's no
[55:25]doubt about but i ask you my dear brothers and sisters when
[55:31]rasulullah died did they honor his daughter or did they take her
[55:37]sanctity away from her wanted was it for the daughter to be
[55:44]protected and for the daughter to be looked after one day a
[55:52]slap and another day a child miscarried and another day a fire
[55:56]that burns the house on for all of our brothers around the
[56:17]world especially our brothers and sisters who face difficulties in this time
[56:20]we have a sister of ours in mozambique who has been missing
[56:25]for a number of days ya allah return her in the name
[56:28]of say that all of our beloved ones who are unwell in
[56:36]this period we pray to allah for all of our beloved ones
[56:40]in the name of the verse of the quran bismillah [Music] to
[57:36]come together to honor the greatest wife of rasulullah but before it
[57:48]wherever you may be the loudest of salawat and we welcome our
[57:53]respected mullah to come towards the front with the loudest of your
[58:07]salawatt [Music] here [Music] [Music] upon us once again and inshallah allah
[58:49]your alma will be accepted the same development and relief foundation once
[58:54]again are running the ramadan food basket campaign each food basket contains
[59:01]food essentials such as flour rice oil meat vegetables tea lemons and
[59:07]not forgetting dates each food basket is only 20 pounds or 25
[59:12]us dollars i can feed a family of four for up to
[59:17]10 days [Music] you
