How did the last days of the life of Imam Ali (a) establish his character and competence, and how was he God Centric? Ramadhan 2024

[0:00][Music] as we're in this last episode our last video of this

[0:32]series Examining The Life and Legacy of IM Ali as we look

[0:36]at the themes of character and competence we come to the the

[0:39]end of his life and reflect on what it took to keep

[0:46]that message going what it took to keep that mission going what

[0:53]it took to keep that movement going and that IM at the

[0:56]end of his life he was faced with so much turmoil so

[1:01]much much um so much pain um that even as he approached

[1:11]his prayer which essentially would be the final one of the final

[1:15]prayers of his final days when he went to the Masid of

[1:19]kufa and he entered the Masid of kufa that morning that F

[1:23]and he sees the man who he would know to be his

[1:28]assassin and he would St advise him he would tell him because

[1:35]he was concealing his weapon underneath him as he was sleeping on

[1:38]his stomach he tells him rise from the sleep of the devil

[1:43]and come and pray imagine that imagine your your assassin somebody who's

[1:49]out to kill you you still give him a piece of advice

[1:55]you still are looking out for them and then even when ABD

[2:01]his assassin attacks him in his prayer the IM who from his

[2:06]injuries calls outa I'm Victorious by the lord of the Kaa you

[2:13]still have this Imam respond to the attack by saying don't torture

[2:21]him right don't do anything to him more than what he did

[2:29]to me this fairness this Justice and this firmness that he had

[2:33]in making sure that hey we're not going to be extreme we're

[2:36]not going to be intolerant um this Mercy This Love that he

[2:43]had right um just continues to make us reflect and think about

[2:50]how are we engaging in our lives how are we being in

[2:53]our lives and that those final couple days that the Imam had

[2:57]because the Imam um um it would take a couple days before

[3:03]he would actually die and be martyred from his injuries um because

[3:07]the strike of ABD Rahman struck him in his head it was

[3:12]a poison the dagger it was the poison that would kill the

[3:14]IM Ali not the strike poison would kill Imam Ali not the

[3:19]strike during those last couple days the Imam spent it in prayer

[3:25]and supplication and spent it with his um adult children nearby and

[3:29]his children as well so when you're looking at the the the

[3:35]last couple days the Imam is spending it praying supplicating and then

[3:41]advising his sons and daughters and you see in the uh will

[3:44]of the Imam to his eldest son IM Hass an emphasis on

[3:50]a few things some of those things that we can highlight are

[3:55]an emphasis on the Holy Quran don't forget the Quran don't neglect

[3:59]the Quran read the Quran on of the Quran an emphasis on

[4:02]the orphans was known as the father of the orphans an emphasis

[4:08]on the orphans don't forget about them don't neglect them take care

[4:13]of them protect them honor them when you're looking at the state

[4:19]of the the mind of the Imam you're seeing somebody who it's

[4:22]not that at the end of his life these things turned on

[4:28]and were being shared it was a reflection of everything that he

[4:32]did and committed himself to throughout his life from when he was

[4:36]a child to his final days and when you're trying to basically

[4:42]bring this all together and look at this complete man complete human

[4:48]being the character of the highest level the competence of the highest

[4:54]level of humanity you're seeing someone who in Victory and joy in

[5:01]and pain and sacrifice has the same spirituality and the same commitment

[5:07]to God has the same kindness and integrity with other human beings

[5:12]no matter what the situation was he was consistent no matter what

[5:20]came his way he didn't [Music] change you and I shouldn't just

[5:30]be inspired by this but need to see okay how how do

[5:35]I create this consistency for myself and my life how do I

[5:41]implement it how do I make that happen so that even in

[5:45]my even in times of of pain which could lead to suffering

[5:48]how do I actually take that and grow from it IM always

[5:55]had God front and center his Paradigm was god- Centric Allah subh

[6:01]was at the center of everything his pleasure you and I if

[6:07]we try to do that and our Paradigm becomes god- Centric the

[6:12]decisions we make the things that we refrain from is always looking

[6:15]at aligning what does God want from me right now and my

[6:21]joy my happiness my contentment which is the most important is aligned

[6:26]with God nothing else that's that's when I get success that's when

[6:32]I know like all right I'm really well on my journey and

[6:34]and my personal growth and development that's when I'm like okay now

[6:38]I'm really aligning with know the the the sacrifice and The Valor

[6:46]and the the you know the legacy of Imam the takeway from

[6:52]all of this is when we are looking at IM Ali the

[6:58]holy prophet they are that vessel that vehicle that was for us

[7:08]to Allah subhana wa taala what was their desire what did they

[7:13]want end of the day what did they want they wanted God

[7:15]what did they see they saw God what did they hear they

[7:22]heard God what did they feel they felt God you and I

[7:27]we have this ability to accelerate our relationship with Allah tala through

[7:34]them through his most beloved Muhammad Muhammad I pray that uh this

[7:40]short series and looking at some of these highlights of the Life

[7:44]and Legacy ofam especially through this lens of examining his his character

[7:50]his competence uh as the complete human being um that inshallah this

[7:55]helps in our journey of our growth and personal development the holy

[7:59]month of Ramadan and throughout the year inshallah of
