Avoid that which is doubtful - Qazwini

There is a disputed issue between Akbaris and Usulis. Akbaris state that when you are dealing with something questionable, you should stop and consider it haram until it is proven it’s halal. The Usuli, however, states that unless God has said it’s haram, we can assume it’s halal. It does not befit God to punish us for something that we had no knowledge of. The Usulis argue that it is better to have precaution but it’s not mandatory.
