[5:16]on instagram facebook and youtube to stay up to date on all
[5:20]of our programs the topic of tonight's program will be imam hussein's
[5:25]short-term and long-term victories delivered by our dear sheikh basil haddad and
[5:31]after his discussion we will have a latimia performed by brother mustafa
[5:35]saleme now please help me welcome our distinguished speaker haddad with a
[5:42]loud salawat muhammad so the topic as brother ahmed said was we're
[6:33]going to discuss the victory of imam hussain alaihis now's mission from
[6:38]the short-term lens and from a long-term lens inshallah so yesterday we
[6:44]went over a few important prerequisites you can call it regarding imam
[6:50]hussain's mission regarding the different narratives that uh described imam hussain's personality
[6:55]described his mission and described ahekulva so today we will cover different
[7:02]points and we'll go over some misconceptions inshaallah and hopefully at the
[7:06]end there will be a lot of important matters that will be
[7:10]made clear inshallah so just one loud salaah thank you so the
[7:22]mission of imam hassan alaihi salam as we discussed yesterday there's different
[7:26]narratives that described it and i told you that if we were
[7:31]to line up all of the narrations and all of the books
[7:33]from the different schools of thought that described imam hussain's mission we
[7:37]will conclude with three main categories the first category branches or traces
[7:44]back to the propaganda of beni omaya the second group which is
[7:51]the largest traces back to beni abbas and the third traces back
[7:55]to the imams from atlanta bait now i'm focusing on this and
[8:00]i'm repeating it for the second time due to its importance beni
[8:03]abbas why am i mentioning them some people might not have a
[8:08]good idea of who they are they're the longest lasting islamic dynasty
[8:12]they ruled after benjamin for a much longer period of time and
[8:17]if we were to do a compare contrast between benjamin and beni
[8:23]abbas it would be a very difficult uh topic to discuss and
[8:28]see who was actually worse who did more evil but i'll just
[8:31]throw it out there that benny abbas are not our friends at
[8:35]the end of the day they killed more imams than benio and
[8:38]that's just from the killing standpoint but when we get to the
[8:43]actual deviance they caused it was it's undescribable so it's not safe
[8:51]to just rely on their narrative without doing some double checking and
[8:55]actually making sure that this you know corresponds and agrees with the
[8:58]narrative debates so the mission of imam hussain yesterday we said okay
[9:07]according to the narrative of athletes not the enemies of ahib imam
[9:11]hussain's mission was to do what to seek reformation and the nation
[9:15]of his grandfather prophet muhammad sallallahu alaihi and to follow the path
[9:22]the footsteps of his father alibi so technically if we want to
[9:28]actually go deeper into the mission of imam hussain this it requires
[9:31]us to what to go back to the nation of prophet muhammad
[9:36]when he established it and to really have a better understanding of
[9:39]the mission of imam ali because whatever imam hussain is doing he's
[9:43]continuing the mission of his father [Music] so like i said yesterday
[9:50]there's a big chunk of years between ashura and the passing of
[9:57]prophet muhammad so in order to have a to get a to
[10:01]grasp what happened to the nation of prophet muhammad and needed reformation
[10:05]we have to go back in time a little bit so i
[10:09]discussed a few points yesterday some main events in a timeline so
[10:14]that we can kind of get it on understanding so just to
[10:18]kind of paraphrase imam ali's mission his mission was to liberate and
[10:26]revive the sunnah of the prophet and like i said the sunni
[10:30]of the prophet is what is three things it's the words of
[10:34]prophet muhammad his actions and his affirmations so we take the sunnah
[10:41]of the prophet something happened to the son of the prophet after
[10:44]his passing and it's very crucial it's very important that we hold
[10:49]on to the sunnah of the prophet as muslims because our islam
[10:53]is not complete without the quran and the son of the prophet
[10:58]so something happened to the son of the prophet and like i
[11:03]i said very strongly and i stand by it the sin of
[11:05]the prophet was attacked that went through multiple attacks for a very
[11:12]large chunk of years for over 24 years when he finally became
[11:18]the khalifa his his role his mission was to liberate and revive
[11:21]the son of the prophet so did he succeed in that technically
[11:29]yes but not in all of the islamic uh territories only in
[11:36]the territories that he had control over in that short period of
[11:40]time so let's talk about imam ali his role in the time
[11:45]frame that he was in charge so we can have a better
[11:51]understanding what his son's roles are going to be in order for
[11:54]us to appreciate the actions of our imams we have to understand
[11:58]the circumstances the main variables that took place at that time when
[12:04]we understand the variables we understand the circumstance then we will have
[12:08]a better understanding we'll have a better level of appreciation of what
[12:13]they did and what they accomplished so let's go to the times
[12:20]after the passing of the prophet in the year 11 in the
[12:23]second month of the year 11 there was three rulers that ruled
[12:30]the muslims xyz you were punished by the state and then this
[13:04]thing called fabrications and distortion of narrations took place in a very
[13:09]high scale you know one of the very first narrations to be
[13:15]fabricated was the hadith that one of the the first ruler made
[13:21]up to confiscate the land of fedex from say the father and
[13:25]that's one of the examples that a very clear example of a
[13:29]fabrication where somebody completely makes up a narration and says i heard
[13:34]prophet muhammad say one two three to justify whatever policy they're making
[13:38]so we have many fabrications we have many distortions and in the
[13:42]whole time there's a void there's a where the actual true son
[13:47]of the prophet is non-existent except for whatever the government narrated so
[13:51]why is imam ali important when it comes to the sin of
[13:56]the prophet why is imam ali importing when it comes to the
[13:58]sin of the prophet there's many companions hundreds of companions in the
[14:04]muslim land correct so what's special about imam ali is it just
[14:07]that he's the cousin of the prophet is it just a matter
[14:12]that he's the son-in-law of the prophet is it a matter of
[14:15]he was the most brave and courageous man on the battlefield what
[14:18]is special about imam ali when it comes to the sunnah of
[14:23]the prophet because a lot of times when you ask somebody ourselves
[14:27]we can go around and survey each other why is imam ali
[14:31]so important when it comes to islam what is the good things
[14:34]he who did or why what what is his importance and significance
[14:36]often times we only focus on the battlefield moments right in the
[14:41]battle of bed that what he did in the battle ahead how
[14:45]he saved islam in the battle of the trench how he saved
[14:47]islam in the battle of khaibar we go on the battle of
[14:50]her name and so on and so forth all of these events
[14:53]that required courage right and we focus on imam ali as if
[14:58]he's just a warrior but when it comes to the sin of
[14:59]the prophet why is he important so we can go on and
[15:05]on and list the companions of the prophet those who lived in
[15:08]the time of prophet muhammad witnessed him and heard his the reason
[15:12]why imam ali is so important when it comes to the hadith
[15:16]of the prophet is because first he was the very first muslim
[15:20]but on top of everything he spent the most time with the
[15:26]prophet but still on top of that we have historical records that
[15:29]prove from all schools of thought that imam ali had private sessions
[15:34]with prophet muhammed after federal prayer and after a shot prayer twice
[15:38]a day he had private meetings where he would sit in the
[15:43]side of the masjid with the prophet and the prophet would speak
[15:45]and he would write how many times twice a day for how
[15:50]many years 24 years no other companion nobody can claim that there's
[15:58]another companion that actually preserved the sunnah of the prophet that had
[16:00]access to the sin of the prophet like imam ali did so
[16:04]imam ali technically out of all the companions the only one who
[16:08]has the capability to preserve and continue the sunnah of the prophet
[16:13]because it was a dictation where he would write and and the
[16:18]prophet the prophet would speak and imam ali would write and imam
[16:21]ali would check his basically check his work type of thing verify
[16:26]it and even imam ali asked him one of the narrations oh
[16:29]messenger of allah are you scared i'm gonna forget is that why
[16:33]you're making me right and he said no right for your for
[16:37]your partners write for your partners who will use this later on
[16:41]and i'll get to this soon insha'allah but at the end of
[16:45]the day there is no companion who has access to the sun
[16:49]of the prophet and has the ability to preserve and continue and
[16:54]teach the son of the prophet like imam ali islam so just
[16:56]from the standpoint of writing the hadith nobody can compete with imam
[17:00]ali in that aspect so a void took place these attacks on
[17:07]the sunnah took place right that it got to the point where
[17:10]the khalifa can himself publicly supersede the authority the religious of the
[17:15]authority of prophet muhammad this for me and you we think about
[17:20]this this is impossible if somebody did that in front of us
[17:23]and said i admit that prophet muhammad had this and this and
[17:27]i choose to make them haram and i'll punish you if you
[17:30]act upon them we would not accept that we would not allow
[17:36]that in our faces right now imagine back then so yesterday i
[17:38]mentioned a point that it's crucial and i'm going to repeat it
[17:41]so hopefully it sticks in your mind there's a crucial point we
[17:45]cannot forget which is after the passing of the prophet about two
[17:48]years two to three years after the muslim empire multiplied in size
[17:53]multiplied almost to the atlantic ocean from the western side and from
[17:59]the eastern side almost to the border of india i mentioned pakistan
[18:02]yesterday but technically back then there was no pakistan so to the
[18:06]borders of india from one side and almost to the atlantic ocean
[18:09]from another side the muslim nation now just adopted coastlines trade routes
[18:15]military fortresses castles multiple lands multiple nations races languages all types of
[18:24]things right so the majority of muslims now soon after the passing
[18:28]of the prophet are new converts they're not arab they don't speak
[18:33]arabic and whatever they are being taught about islam is whatever the
[18:36]government is giving them so they didn't witness prophet muhammed they didn't
[18:40]sit with prophet muhammed they didn't hear about hadith they didn't hear
[18:46]about hadith in manzila they didn't hear about hadith we can go
[18:51]on and on hadith how many hadith do we have the show
[18:54]display the virtue and greatness of imam ali alayhim they did not
[19:00]have access to these hadith so when somebody gets up and tells
[19:06]them you know i'm basically superseding the authority of the prophet for
[19:10]them whatever the government tells them that's what they do it's not
[19:13]a big deal to them because they don't know the importance of
[19:16]prophet muhammad they don't know the importance of his sunnah and this
[19:21]is another point i'm focusing on i remember when i was in
[19:24]school this was a big issue why are shiites so much less
[19:30]in quantity than mainstream muslims and they used to use this as
[19:35]a evidence to prove that the shia are wrong because you're less
[19:39]in number well step one what i just mentioned that's a big
[19:42]variable you can't take out of the equation from the very beginning
[19:46]of when they're so-called this split in islam there was a huge
[19:50]multiplication in the population of mainstream islam so mainstream islam followed you
[19:56]know the book of allah the sunni of the prophet according to
[20:01]whatever they allowed and the policies of the two sheikhs the two
[20:04]first rulers okay and whatever they did you had to abide by
[20:09]so the third khalifa actually he was given bai he was given
[20:16]allegiance under this condition that he abides by the policies and the
[20:20]rules of the two shaykhs the first two rulers and that's why
[20:24]imam ali refused that that unfair six-man vote if you're familiar with
[20:28]it so this just is a sample to show how important the
[20:33]seer the policies of the two shaykhs was it was even more
[20:38]important than the sin of the prophet so now you know imagine
[20:45]24 years all of these muslims from all around okay this is
[20:49]the type of islam that they're being taught they're not being taught
[20:54]the islam of that prophet muhammad preached and taught and acted upon
[20:59]so now imagine the importance of imam ali's mission because sometimes we
[21:06]have to remind ourselves the importance or the main mission of our
[21:11]imams is not to sit on a throne it's not to be
[21:15]the so-called caliph and have people obey them and be treated like
[21:18]a king that's not the goal and the mission of our imams
[21:22]it was not the goal of any of our imams what is
[21:25]the goal of our imams let's do guidance to guide the masses
[21:30]to guide the people to allow the people to have an option
[21:35]to follow the pure islam so imam ali for 24 years he
[21:40]he was you know when you when you just simplify it 24
[21:44]years after the passing of prophet muhammed and you just think about
[21:47]this real quick i mean the imam was born about 10 years
[21:50]before revelation 10 years before islam started okay before the prophetic mission
[21:57]and then he dies all the way in approximately a year 40
[22:01]after hijra so there's a big chunk of years but when you
[22:04]think about what events come to your mind when you think of
[22:08]imam ali what do you know about imam ali everything is going
[22:12]to be fall into two areas either the beginning of his life
[22:16]up to the passing of prophet muhammed or the very end of
[22:22]his life the last four years but the big chunk in between
[22:24]24 years almost a quarter century most of you are just most
[22:30]even i won't we're just we're going to be silent we don't
[22:34]know so imam ali in that period of time all of these
[22:38]events are taking place islam has multiplied these people i now have
[22:41]been raised on this type of islam and now imam ali has
[22:46]to do what he has to revive and liberate the sunnah so
[22:49]i'll fast forward a bit imam ali becomes khalifa it was a
[22:55]surprising event it was not it was not part of the plan
[22:57]of those who were who killed the third kharifa they had somebody
[23:02]else in mind but the people ran to the house of imam
[23:05]ali and basically forced him to put out his hand so they
[23:07]can pay allegiance he becomes a khalifah once he becomes a khalifah
[23:12]all of quraysh unites to do what to stop ali ibn abu
[23:21]talib to make sure he does not remain as a hadith does
[23:23]not remain influential he is their biggest enemy because if anybody has
[23:28]the ability to preserve and and to teach the truth and the
[23:31]true islam it's going to be him and they thought that he
[23:36]was off the map but now he surprised them he's khalifa so
[23:40]they all joined forces to stop him and if you have a
[23:45]map in mind the the main trunk of the muslim military was
[23:48]in sham under mahalia about 60 percent of the troops and the
[23:54]other 40 percent were in arab half of them were in basra
[23:57]and half of them were kufa these were main military fortresses or
[24:01]military camps so the first thing they did is they made a
[24:03]deal with mauawya you hold off sham hold off the western parts
[24:09]of the land don't allow alibne to have access to it your
[24:11]people have never heard of his name they don't know him they
[24:15]don't know anything about him don't let them have access we will
[24:19]all go to basra take basra and then from there we'll march
[24:24]to kulfat then we'll have the entire muslim army blocking off ali
[24:27]never thought up in the desert and finally we'll get rid of
[24:31]him in their calculations they tried a few years before with ten
[24:34]thousand troops in the battle of the trench and imam ali took
[24:38]them out so they realized okay ten thousand is not enough maybe
[24:40]two hundred twenty thousand so now they have over two hundred twenty
[24:43]thousand they're planning on having over two hundred twenty thousand troops to
[24:46]finally take out alibne and uh what does imam ali do he
[24:55]leaves medina he has a few a handful of troops very small
[24:58]very few they have thousands they have a military fortress and they're
[25:02]a few hours away from kufla and then it's a sealed deal
[25:06]so he sends imam hassan to kulfat these people also don't don't
[25:12]know him too much he sends the imam i said to kufa
[25:14]and imam hassan is able to do what rally up a few
[25:19]thousand troops and they meet at basra and the battle of bustle
[25:22]is important because these khufan soldiers they're fighting alongside imam ali against
[25:30]practically all of quraysh and one of the main commanders is the
[25:35]wife of the prophet and the daughter of the first sheikh so
[25:39]it's a big deal but they stayed loyal to imam ali within
[25:43]a few short hours that battle was done the victory was for
[25:45]imam ali what is imam ali choose to do he immediately migrates
[25:50]to kufa and from there he sets up his headquarters and he
[25:55]sets up the capital for his new nation and from there he
[26:00]trains and teaches these people who have loyalty to him he teaches
[26:05]them the sunnah he gives them access to the sunnah and imam
[26:09]ali reverses imam ali reverses the policies that were taking place for
[26:13]24 years he gives these people a chance to have access to
[26:18]true islam and who better to teach you islam of prophet muhammad
[26:24]imam i gave you an example about the hadith he used to
[26:29]preserve so now the battle of safin takes place ma'alia now gathers
[26:35]the army of 120 000 troops and all of the tribes of
[26:41]quraish joined mauaya against imam ali and only five members from quraish
[26:44]stand with imam ali okay and then it was it's one of
[26:50]the biggest civil wars in islamic history and due to you know
[26:54]a certain few uh imam ali's army was winning but they did
[26:57]not they did not gain the full victory that battle was done
[27:02]they still had a lot of loyalty to imam ali just because
[27:05]a few members of the military did not listen doesn't mean the
[27:10]entire army betrayed imam ali then we move on to the next
[27:13]battle of naruwan another battle against the quran of the quran and
[27:18]again these people stick with imam ali and they fight in the
[27:23]battle of so we have three main battles these people stayed with
[27:26]imam ali but it's not just they were soldiers fighting with him
[27:29]they had access they were being taught they were being trained the
[27:35]true islam with the sun of the prophet imam ali al-islam is
[27:40]assassinated his his mission did not reach the other chunk of the
[27:47]muslim lands okay maybe sixty percent of the muslim ummah on that
[27:51]side they did not know about imam ali they did not know
[27:54]the sin of the prophet and how do i how can i
[27:58]visualize this we all have heard of the countless hadith praising imam
[28:02]ali correct by the holy prophet when news reaches the people of
[28:08]sham the ali has been assassinated in the masjid how did they
[28:14]react what words came out of their mouth what was their reaction
[28:17]when they learned that alibne has been assassinated in prayer in the
[28:21]masjid in the holy month of ramadan they asked they said he
[28:28]prays you suddenly what is he doing in the masjid how is
[28:33]he even how is it possible for him to be assassinated in
[28:35]prayer the man doesn't even pray this gives us a glimpse a
[28:42]hint of what kind of islam these poor people are being exposed
[28:45]to so now the role of malawia takes goes to the next
[28:52]level okay was that basically the continuation of this government that was
[28:58]taking place and mauaya held his ground to make sure ali nebula
[29:01]ali's mission does not reach those territories and maui was preserving the
[29:07]islam of the previous rulers so we're gonna fast forward a little
[29:14]bit and basically i'm giving you a nice little timeline that you
[29:16]have to kind of you have to be able to understand these
[29:18]main events we have to in order for you to get any
[29:23]proper understanding you have to go back a little bit so now
[29:26]we fast forward a little bit okay imam hassan is is assassinated
[29:31]by ma'awiya okay what does the ten years before and this will
[29:39]allow us to get a a little glimpse of the victory of
[29:43]imam hussain and the mission of imam hussein so in 10 years
[29:54]i want to summarize it for you in the main points the
[29:57]main policies that he did first thing maui did was he assassinated
[30:00]him imam hassan's job and that those 10 years before was preserving
[30:07]the shia and preserving the shi'at ali that were because they had
[30:11]a headquarters they had a capital there was thousands of them who
[30:13]knew the sin of the prophet he preserved their lives and mualia
[30:18]was not able to do anything to the shia of ali they're
[30:21]the biggest issue because they can continue to push imam ali's mission
[30:24]to the rest of the world so in the time of imam
[30:29]hudson's treaty with malawia for 10 years malawia was not able to
[30:34]kill oppressed torture in prison a single shiri in 10 years and
[30:39]this is a challenge for all of you today go try to
[30:43]find the name of one shiri that mualia was able to imprison
[30:46]torture oppress or kill in those 10 years so he had he
[30:52]he assassinates imam hassan to break that first thing he does after
[30:57]that he appoints this cursed man called ziad you've all heard of
[31:01]ibn ziyad he appoints ziad to be the governor of all of
[31:04]arak basra and kufa and his job is to eliminate shiite ali
[31:11]from arat that's his job so the first thing this cursed person
[31:15]does ziad is he he deports physical forceful deportations of 50 000
[31:24]families from arat these were soldiers of imam ali in the battle
[31:29]of safin he picks them up them and their families and he
[31:33]does what he ships them off to eastern iran to foreign and
[31:37]then they're empty houses he does what he brings 50 000 shyami
[31:42]soldiers with their families and sits them in those empty houses so
[31:45]what is he doing to to the shia he's trying to get
[31:50]rid of them so he starts with deportations after that now the
[31:53]remaining shia he can pick them up one by one so then
[31:58]his forces go after every known lover of ali alayhi salaam every
[32:01]known student of imam ali and takes them either to prison or
[32:05]execution so for the next years they followed every single shia in
[32:14]iraq to the point where all history books tell us this sunnis
[32:17]everybody that they checked behind every tree and under every rock until
[32:22]there was not one known shia in all of arat this is
[32:28]all taking place when this is before ashura there was not one
[32:32]known shia in all of iraq when muawiyah finally finished his job
[32:36]so and to pay attention ten years before ashora has when 50
[32:42]000 were brought from sham loyal to malawia and they sat there
[32:45]them and their families so if they had a 10 year old
[32:48]son 10 years later he's a 20 year old soldier all right
[32:52]with his loyalties to ma'ali and benny umayyah and they hate imam
[32:55]that's very crucial and i hope that also sticks in your minds
[33:00]so now he's almost done away is getting old he realizes okay
[33:06]my time is pretty much over and he appoints his son yazid
[33:11]to be the khalifa after him he forces people to pay allegiance
[33:15]to yazid so that yazid can continue the policies in this mission
[33:20]of this filtered and polluted islam that they were preaching his mission
[33:28]you know we were speaking about imam hussain's mission what was ma'ale's
[33:32]mission he also has a mission statement and he says in his
[33:38]mission statement that he says that the brother of tame referring to
[33:46]abu bakr he ruled and he died and with him died his
[33:50]remembrance and then the brother of adi referring to umar ii he
[33:53]ruled for a good ten years and he died in demise and
[33:58]there and also his repute his his remembrance died with him then
[34:01]he remembers his cousin uthman the same thing i'm paraphrasing here he
[34:05]ruled and he died and there went his uh his remembrance then
[34:11]he says but ibn abi kept you referring to the holy prophet
[34:15]his name is yelled out screamed out shouted out five times a
[34:22]day referring to the adhan five times a day we say what
[34:26]allah correct so maui says that five times a day prophet muhammad's
[34:39]name is shouted and screamed on the pulpits on the manabur and
[34:44]unfortunate then he says what what remembrance what what of our mission
[34:51]is going to remain if this is there if prophet muhammad's name
[34:54]is being screamed out in the so he says he says by
[35:03]god i will bury it i will bury it or i will
[35:04]bury it i will completely bury it he's going to bury the
[35:09]remembrance of prophet muhammed that's his mission he's continuing his predecessors and
[35:15]he's he's putting onto full gear after that so his goal is
[35:21]to completely take out the remembrance of prophet muhammed so taking out
[35:25]the sunnah was not enough now he's going to what he's going
[35:27]to bury the remembrance of prophet muhammad this is very clear in
[35:31]the history books so now comes the role of imam hussain so
[35:36]he did so much to reverse imam ali's work and then to
[35:42]erase the remembrance of prophet muhammed a few months after is the
[35:48]revolution the uprising of imam hussain we can't look at the uprising
[35:52]of imam hussain just in the year 61 and up to ashura
[35:57]and it's over it's not over it has just begun and arb
[36:01]is a great way that forces us or allows us to know
[36:04]that this this revolution of imam hussain doesn't end with our continues
[36:10]so if we look at the events that took place in the
[36:15]short term after after ashura we see that everything that aliyah did
[36:20]got reversed everything he tried to do he tried to erase all
[36:24]of imam ali's work it got all reversed so imam hussain's revolution
[36:29]it led to the shia those who were still alive in the
[36:33]prisons to break out out of the prisons and to get out
[36:38]and to completely kick out benny omaya from the those shiite lands
[36:43]and kick out their governors and kick out their rulers and bring
[36:47]back the shia that were in hiding they were in different parts
[36:50]of the land and they brought back the policies and the teachings
[36:53]of imam ali so that's a bit of a short term and
[37:00]if you know if you're familiar with mukhtar it kind of gives
[37:03]you a little taste of that okay where they're able to remove
[37:06]benny omaya bring back the shia and bring back the policies and
[37:10]the teachings of imam ali al-isna which is the quran and the
[37:14]pure sin of the holy prophet so now if we kind of
[37:19]fast forward and you think about some of the stuff i said
[37:24]should ring a bell so are we saying that the people in
[37:28]when imam hussain went to iraq they weren't the shia of ali
[37:34]they just betrayed the imam no so if you paid attention the
[37:40]people in iraq at the time the imam hussain came to iraq
[37:44]were who there were the shamans that had been relocated by maui
[37:47]10 years prior them and their families so when we say that
[37:52]the people when we refer about the people of kufa this is
[37:56]a misconception we need to keep in mind and when i talk
[37:58]about the people of kufa in the early times i'm referring to
[38:00]those who are known as what as the loyal followers of imam
[38:05]ali and of his teachings some of this might ring a bell
[38:11]and you might like what is he talking about people of kufa
[38:13]is he indicating is he hinting that the people of kufa were
[38:16]good people who had loyalty to the imams yes that's exactly what
[38:21]i'm trying to say the people of khulfah in the time of
[38:24]imam ali imam hassan and after imam hussain these are who these
[38:29]are the loyal shia and they had a many enemies those who
[38:34]were enemies to imam ali and imam ali's mission were enemies to
[38:38]the people of kufa they hated them the people of kufa were
[38:41]nothing but bad news to them and to what they stood for
[38:45]what they wanted to propagate so step one the people of kufa
[38:50]did not the true khufens from the amount of ice time they
[38:52]did not kill non hussein and they did not betray imam hussain
[38:58]this was the work of if anybody from kulfat it was the
[39:01]shamies who lived in kuafa when i referred to the shames i'm
[39:03]referring to the loyal the the you know basically those military men
[39:08]soldiers that were from sham from maui's army who were relocated to
[39:13]we have a narration from the imam that tells us describes to
[39:20]us in al-qafi about and he says he describes us who surrounded
[39:28]imam hussain okay and the imam says you can look this up
[39:40]it's in a cafe the imam says that is the day that
[39:43]imam hussain was surrounded by the horsemen the military horsemen of who
[39:48]of ishaam so now you might ask okay what was muslim why
[39:53]did he go to kufa and you're probably thinking oh he went
[39:56]to kufa to verify the loyalty of these people so if you
[40:03]pick up what i said earlier the kuffin tribes are what they're
[40:07]all mixed up and thrown around and imam hussain's mission is to
[40:11]come is to start after ashura muslim is the son of a
[40:15]who is an expert in the lineages of the arab tribes so
[40:19]he knows who's who and from where so cool for a stranger
[40:24]looks the same but for somebody like muslim who is knowledgeable in
[40:30]the tribes and who's who who's originally from sham and who's originally
[40:33]from kufa he can differentiate who is the remaining shia of irene
[40:40]who are those of the shiite so there's a few different points
[40:46]that i i discussed today briefly and these are you know just
[40:50]hints a little samples of some of the important points in our
[40:54]history that we need to be familiar with when it comes to
[40:58]understanding the mission of our imams and we need to understand some
[41:03]of the background information we need to understand some of these events
[41:07]so i just wanted to give you as much as i could
[41:11]regarding these events obviously you can imagine this requires courses in order
[41:14]to have a better understanding so now we go into the next
[41:20]few years and go down the centuries that was the short-term victory
[41:23]of imam hussain let's go to the long-term and i'll end with
[41:28]this so short term is that the iman's revolution was able to
[41:32]bring back the shia of ali who had access and and the
[41:38]knowledge of the sin of the prophet taught by imam but now
[41:40]let's go to the long term and i mentioned yesterday that the
[41:44]mission of imam hussain resulted in what and people like imam assad
[41:51]to have ability capability to spread the sun of the prophet to
[41:55]the masses and like i told you yesterday that if we look
[42:00]at the amount of narrators those who say i heard want you
[42:04]know i heard jafar muhammad say one two three if we look
[42:09]at the different narrators that narrated from imam assad versus those who
[42:12]narrated from imam ali imam ali had about a and 400 plus
[42:17]different people narrate from him imam hussain only had about 141 or
[42:21]109 different people narrate from him imam assad had 3 217 different
[42:27]people narrated from him say i heard jaffa muhammad say one two
[42:33]three okay so when we just look at that we could just
[42:37]that by itself shows us that imam hussain's mission to revive the
[42:43]sunnah did work it was a success because now people had access
[42:47]to the sunnah and then this whole people of kufa think being
[42:49]bad people yes the enemies that bet hated kufa you know what
[42:54]i want to read off a few examples of that okay i
[42:58]have a timeline of a hundred and twenty-five years from the battle
[43:04]of gemini all the way down to benny abbas and with instead
[43:09]of me i can come here and read you all the narrations
[43:14]that praise ahikufa all the narrations that speak ill about kufa and
[43:17]then we can go back and forth in the net authenticity and
[43:20]try to prove who's who but let's put that to the side
[43:24]and let's just look at the enemies of ahikufa and just in
[43:28]the time of imam ali the battle of jemele against the heads
[43:34]of quraish who was the army of imam ali kuffar and they
[43:37]took out who the army of operation basra and then we go
[43:42]fast forward the battle suffering the biggest civil war in islamic history
[43:45]who was the army of imam ali ahmed khufu fast forward a
[43:49]bit go to the battle of naharawan who was the army of
[43:52]imam ali ahmed did in those 10 years i talked about before
[43:58]who was he attacking kulfa then we fast forward a little bit
[44:05]look at what yazid did in his period of time right what
[44:07]his main focus were the shia of kulfa then we're not done
[44:14]there go four years later and look at what the khufan armies
[44:17]were doing the shiite armies of arak doing after karbala to the
[44:22]armies of benin omaha how much battles took place and you go
[44:26]is it just with many omaha no so we got quraysh then
[44:30]we got benny omega from the sufyani side and then we have
[44:34]ben zuber who was mukhtar fighting towards the end of his life
[44:37]quraysh from beni zubair then we're not done there we go back
[44:44]to bernie from the marwani side abdi manik and all of his
[44:49]people al-hajjaj by himself killed 120 000 shia these are all mainly
[44:56]from kufa because the khufan families represented the the the bulk of
[44:59]the shiite they were the headquarters of the shiite i'm not saying
[45:02]it was only in kufa we had shia from the time of
[45:06]mom i just went all the way to south lebanon right but
[45:11]the center the capital the headquarters for the heritage was from kufa
[45:16]and i can go on and on to all of the different
[45:20]people from the mainstream muslim you know government that are attacking who
[45:24]the khufans and why very simple because they were narrating the hadith
[45:30]that came through imam ali's chain and not from the mainstream from
[45:36]the government side so yes they were a problem they were enemies
[45:40]they were not loyal but to who to the government not to
[45:47]imam most of imam sladok's companions and students were all from kufun
[45:51]families so that by itself for me you know is enough obviously
[45:55]there's going to be talk about added cool foot and talking about
[46:00]how bad they are because they had look at who their enemies
[46:02]were you know the the kuffins preserving pushing the teachings and the
[46:06]narrations of the imams is what caused books like swahili to be
[46:11]written in s all these books were written to catch up with
[46:18]the the work of imam assad from his companion so there's a
[46:23]lot to be discussed and if you want more information you know
[46:28]contact us through knowledge seekers on on instagram or on uh and
[46:32]the facebook inshallah will be at your service um i hope you
[46:37]got a glimpse of some of the important matters when it comes
[46:43]to these historical events and uh i'll end there alhamdulillah muhammed thank
[47:09]you all right now we'll have a lot mere recited by our
[47:15]dear brother mustafa saleem so please help me welcome him with a
