[0:00]tiny the words of Maui now this is very important for us
[0:06]to always remind ourselves because we need to always remind ourselves why
[0:12]these events are important why the mission of Imam Hussain is important
[0:16]and those who participated in Imam hussain's Mission why they are so
[0:20]significant and why we must keep it alive and teach our children
[0:23]about it so we're going to go back to the year 60
[0:28]and this cursed man named yazid right the father of yazid he
[0:31]has a conversation with one of his closest companions okay so in
[0:38]this conversation now it's a very long paragraph So I'm paraphrasing for
[0:42]you but I told you the source is narrated from bakar and
[0:47]he takes it from and is sources so we're not we're not
[0:56]being biased here okay we're quoting those who you know have some
[0:59]level of respect towards he's having this conversation with his dear friend
[1:05]one of the four sliced and four of the sliced of the
[1:13]Arabs so it's the year 60.
[1:18]Maui has slaughtered and executed eradicated all the existence of Shiite in
[1:23]Iraq he's taken out all of the top Shiite Companions of Imam
[1:26]Hassan there's nobody left in Iraq that is known as a Shia
[1:32]it looks like he's pretty much done everything he's wanted to do
[1:36]he's he's removed the remembrance of Imam in any positive way they're
[1:41]cursing Imam Ali on the pulpits in all of the states in
[1:48]Islamic empire so for Malia this is Victory he should you know
[1:52]just take the Victory and call it a day his friend who
[1:56]is not a Shiri and he looks at him and he tells
[1:57]him nicely listen wow yeah you're getting old I'm always in his
[2:04]70s at the time you're getting old you've done all of you
[2:09]could to benu Hashim you've taken them off the face of the
[2:11]Earth they have no lovers no followers known maybe it's time before
[2:18]you die to do some good be merciful be a little bit
[2:25]shows displays some kindness to your distant cousins from benue you have
[2:29]nothing to fear anymore they can't do anything to hurt you they
[2:32]have no soldiers they have they have no economic power they have
[2:38]no way of hurting you so it's time now to show some
[2:43]kindness so that the world will remember something good that you've done
[2:47]because it's going to be very difficult for the world to remember
[2:50]anything good you've done and it might it seems pretty a lot
[2:55]it makes pretty you know sense he's right you know at that
[2:57]point in time if we were to zoom in in the year
[3:00]60 there's nothing that the Shia could do to hurt Malia and
[3:03]it seems like he's accomplished all of his missions all of his
[3:06]goals have been accomplished and there's nothing to threaten him or his
[3:11]or his Empire so how does Maui respond and this is important
[3:16]this is important to understand not just Imam hussain's Mission but to
[3:21]understand the role of said and this ritual that we revive every
[3:27]year which is so that's why I'm putting so much emphasis on
[3:32]this this quote of Mahalia so Malia tells him hey hot hey
[3:40]hot my gets angry okay and he does not like the advice
[3:43]of his dear friend and he says away away and get out
[3:49]of here with that talk basically okay and he explains why he
[3:52]disagrees with him and he goes over and he says how and
[3:57]I'm paraphrasing here that Malik the the brother of tame referring to
[4:01]the first ruler Abu Bakr he ruled and when he perished his
[4:04]legacy perished with him okay and then after him the the brother
[4:12]of ID referring to the second ruler he ruled and when he
[4:15]perished his remembrance perished with him his legacy perished with him and
[4:22]then says he says but the the IBN Abbey kebsha okay which
[4:29]is a reference to the holy prophet sallallahu alaihi his name is
[4:34]shouted his screen five times a day on the manaber he's referring
[4:38]to what Muhammad rasool Allah so he says that the the name
[4:51]of prophet Muhammad is shouted out five times a day in the
[4:58]call of prayer where we bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger
[5:01]of Allah and then he says as long as that remains there
[5:06]will be no Legacy of mine that will remain nothing will remain
[5:10]as long as Prophet Muhammad's name is shouted out as in that
[5:16]he's the messenger of Allah as long as that remains there nothing
[5:20]will remain and he goes off on him he tells him okay
[5:24]and then he says his mission statement foreign I swear by Allah
[5:36]I surely will bury it I will bury it what is he
[5:40]going to bury the remembrance of prophet Muhammad being the messenger of
[5:47]Allah so that's my Allah's mission and he's almost there now this
[5:51]is important for us to keep in mind always the most powerful
[5:56]Muslim ruler let's say or politician so-called Muslim ruler at that time
[6:03]for those few decades he had the most influence he had the
[6:06]strongest army on the face of the Earth he was had control
[6:12]of the strongest economy on the planet okay from every aspect was
[6:17]the most influential powerful men alive and this is his mission to
[6:25]what to bury the remembrance of prophet Muhammad to bury the idea
[6:31]that Prophet Muhammad is the messenger of Allah That's A Dangerous Mission
[6:36]now why is that dangerous we can look at it from multiple
[6:41]aspects but as we all know Prophet Muhammad what is he what
[6:45]is his role or what is one of his famous titles so
[6:48]we know there's a hundred and twenty four thousand prophets right to
[6:54]Prophet Muhammad he's symbolic for for for what he's the Seal of
[7:02]prophets and Messengers after Prophet Muhammad can there be another Prophet can
[7:06]there be another messenger now we we all believe this and this
[7:12]is clear in the Holy Quran that there is no messenger there
[7:14]is no Prophet after Prophet Muhammad now in the previous in the
[7:20]history of the previous Prophets when a prophet or messenger delivers his
[7:24]message you know delivers his mission he succeeds at it but over
[7:29]a period of time there are those who come after him and
[7:32]they deviate his mission they deviate the teachings of that Prophet or
[7:38]messenger what does Allah do he sends another Messenger right he sends
[7:45]another prophet and that Prophet will correct whatever deviation took place now
[7:52]can that apply though with the final Prophet Allah has already promised
[7:59]and stated that Prophet Muhammad is the Seal of prophets and Messengers
[8:02]there can not be another messenger there cannot be another prophet and
[8:08]what has happened to the religion of prophet Muhammad so last time
[8:13]I spoke here I went over some of the examples of what
[8:15]took place to the nation of prophet Muhammad to the religion of
[8:20]prophet Muhammad I won't go over those again but clearly if this
[8:24]is what's happening if this is Khalifa in Muslim so-called and he
[8:28]is the one that you go through him to get to God
[8:32]for the Muslims at the time okay whatever he says is the
[8:38]word of God I'm referring to Allah so we're in big trouble
[8:42]if we go back in that time or walking them in the
[8:48]streets of the Muslim empire where is this is a disaster State
[8:50]of Emergency the religion is almost done and it's already 90 percent
[8:55]of it has been gone but now this is the last thing
[8:59]where now even the even Prophet Muhammad being the messenger of Allah
[9:03]is about to be erased so can Allah send another messenger he
[9:07]would have to go against himself he'll have to contradict himself and
[9:14]that's not going to happen so that's how we can understand the
[9:16]importance of the mission of Imam Hussain he is doing something doing
[9:20]work or his mission is similar to previous prophets and Messengers where
[9:25]they save and preserve the mission of the Prophet before so keep
[9:32]that in mind and that also allow us to understand the importance
[9:35]of state is enable we're going to focus on today so that's
[9:39]step one that that was his mission right number two is we
[9:45]look at the words of yazida and he States before the tragic
[9:52]and if it makes it very clear he says also clarifies that
[10:03]the the tribe of Hashim referring to Prophet Muhammad they played around
[10:11]with the with the with the throne I'm paraphrasing here okay and
[10:18]no revelation was revealed does he believe in Prophet Muhammad being the
[10:24]messenger of Allah he's saying that Prophet Muhammad was playing around with
[10:29]politics he was praying playing around with the throne and there was
[10:32]no Revelation that was revealed there was no such thing as a
[10:39]Quran coming down to Prophet Muhammad so this is the so-called Khalifa
[10:43]and he's clarifying that he does not believe that Prophet Muhammad is
[10:49]a messenger and does not believe that the prophet received any Revelation
[10:54]so again this is a tragedy no muslim the Muslim Nation isn't
[10:57]it is in a state of emergency and this is again this
[11:02]is the so-called Khalifa that the people go through with him to
[11:05]get to God and whatever he says is the word of God
[11:09]in the eyes of the people so now this this allows you
[11:16]to understand more the words the mission of Imam now we take
[11:19]it a step further when when receives the head of Imam Hussain
[11:28]after Ashura and he starts hitting the lips with of Imam Hussain
[11:32]he also resides poetry that clarifies you know his his belief and
[11:39]he says oh how I wish my forefathers in beder witnessed today
[11:48]and he goes and he he explains more um but he again
[11:55]this is reinforcing that he again does not believe that Prophet Muhammad
[11:58]was a messenger and he's not a proper follower of the religion
[12:02]of Islam because the Battle of Badr was against who it was
[12:05]against the holy prophet and the disbelievers and yazid is making it
[12:10]very clear that his mission was to do what he's getting Vengeance
[12:14]for the battle of badar so now that's that's three statements in
[12:20]the year 60 yazid in the year 60 early 60 uh from
[12:25]late 60 and then in the year 61.
[12:27]three statements that are showing that the Muslim Nation is led by
[12:33]full out disbelievers and their mission is to erase Prophet Muhammad his
[12:39]position as being the messenger of Allah and now this is again
[12:42]you can clearly imagine how dangerous this is Muhammad so why are
[12:54]we looking I started this off right why are we lucky we're
[13:00]for Gathering and participating in these majalis of so this is why
[13:05]I want to mention why we are lucky and that is the
[13:09]words of say this ain't it and the words of the holy
[13:14]prophet so we see what they were their mission was was to
[13:17]destroy the remembrance of prophet Muhammad and what destroyed their mission what
[13:24]destroyed the mission of Mahalia and it was none other than what
[13:29]we are doing today and specifically the ziara of Imam Hassan these
[13:35]actions these rituals of gathering to commemorate Imam Hussain is what destroyed
[13:41]the plot of yazid so say this she makes it very clear
[13:52]to yazid right after she she sees him what he's doing to
[13:55]the face of Imam Hussain and he's you know announcing his victory
[14:00]he's announcing his victory that he got Vengeance for his forefathers that
[14:06]were killed in the battle of badar say the Zenith tells him
[14:08]she tells him oh you see I'm going to read the translation
[14:13]here do all you can in plotting against us put it put
[14:18]in all your efforts in displaying your hatred towards us she's challenging
[14:24]him do everything you can use all your resources all your energy
[14:28]all your brain power all your think tanks try to apply continue
[14:33]plotting against us then she says for by Allah you will never
[14:41]for by Allah you will never be able to erase our remembrance
[14:47]nor kill our revelation so she challenges him do everything you can
[14:52]continue the work of your father do everything you can to kill
[14:56]our remembrance for by Allah you can never do that so when
[15:02]we go back in history we see okay how how did say
[15:08]to zainab how did Imam how did the Elizabeth kill destroy the
[15:15]plot foreign because we are participating we are Reviving The Action the
[15:23]tool the weapon used to destroy the plot of the enemies of
[15:26]Islam and preserve the true religion of Islam so that is why
[15:33]we are lucky because we are here and participating in the same
[15:42]act Aslam used to destroy the Empire to destroy the mission of
[15:47]the disbelievers Muhammad all right so today for the next point I
[15:57]want to move on to is when we think about when we
[16:02]think about any specific this is a very important time to also
[16:06]remember say to zainab and I mentioned earlier that one of the
[16:12]main topics I'll focus on is the partners of Imam Hussain so
[16:14]I clarified the mission of Imam the mission of okay we know
[16:21]it's to destroy Islam and to remove the remembrance of prophet Muhammad
[16:25]but when we look around today we look left and right is
[16:32]the remembrance of prophet Muhammad erased do people still believe that he
[16:35]is the messenger of Allah and that's credit for that goes back
[16:40]to the mission of Imam Hussain where he's he's sought out he
[16:43]went out he rose up to seek Reformation in the nation of
[16:49]his grandfather now we know that the Imam his mission is clear
[16:52]is to seek Reformation in the nation of his grandfather and we
[16:57]know that he announced before carbelada he would be victorious the Imam
[17:03]said whoever joins us will be martyred but whoever does not join
[17:15]us will not witness the victory so the Imam announces that he
[17:18]is Victorious but when we look at the mission of Imam Hussain
[17:23]or the revolution of Imam Hussein and we go and look at
[17:29]karbala does it look like he was Victorious can we pinpoint the
[17:32]victory this tells us that we cannot look at the revolution of
[17:39]Imam Hussain and stop on the day of Ashura we cannot we
[17:45]cannot realize the victory of Imam Hussain if we stop on the
[17:49]day of Ashura the mission of Imam Hussain will be incomplete if
[17:54]we do that we have to look at what came after Ashura
[17:57]in order for us to pinpoint the victory of Imam and that's
[18:03]where the role of Satan zainab comes in now say this is
[18:07]we can see how important the mission of Imam Hussain is it's
[18:13]the greatest Mission we can think of because his mission was to
[18:18]preserve and protect the religion of prophet Muhammad and like I mentioned
[18:21]earlier if he was not to do that it would be upon
[18:27]Allah to send a new prophet and Allah promise that there will
[18:30]be no Prophet after Prophet Muhammad so this is a very very
[18:33]important Mission we always take a step further to go go back
[18:40]a little bit Prophet Muhammad his religion here his mission that he
[18:44]delivered to the world was what it was the most important Mission
[18:51]out of 124 000 Prophets because Prophet Muhammad's mission was to liberate
[18:58]and and say it liberate and revive and preserve the missions of
[19:04]all the prophets from Adam all the way down to Prophet Muhammad
[19:07]he saved all of the previous prophets and Messengers all of the
[19:14]corruption deviation that took place after Musa after ASA after all of
[19:19]the 124 000 prophets except for Prophet Muhammad the holy prophet saved
[19:24]all of them and now his religion needs saving his religion that
[19:29]saved all of the messengers and all of the prophets his religion
[19:32]needs saving so who stepped up for the task a now we
[19:39]got to take it a step further who was a partner with
[19:45]Imam Hussain when we talk about the role of women in Islam
[19:47]or the power of women in Islam we can look at it
[19:51]from different aspects and I'm sure you've heard a lot of discussions
[19:54]about this but when we look at say this Islam her role
[19:59]and we just look at it from this aspect we can really
[20:02]we can pinpoint the greatness of a woman in Islamic history where
[20:09]she's the it turns out that not only is she a partner
[20:15]but she's secured she ensured the victory of Imam we can't we
[20:20]cannot pinpoint the victory of Imam Islam unless we we look at
[20:24]what happened after Ashura and who led the way after Ashura we
[20:30]say it is she was under the spotlight all eyes were on
[20:38]her she led the way so she secured she ensured the victory
[20:42]of Imam hussain's mission and I just went over from a few
[20:46]different angles the importance of and the greatness of Imam hussain's Mission
[20:51]so that's not something light and again when we look at you
[20:57]know the role of different powerful women in Islam we can see
[21:01]different examples but it's very difficult to to put your finger and
[21:04]point at a a personality like say this ain't it there was
[21:10]other woman in Islam they LED armies they LED armies they went
[21:15]to war there was women in Islam there is multiple roles for
[21:18]women in Islam but there is no comparison to the role of
[21:25]sadness because when we look at it from this aspect that she
[21:28]was a partner in the mission of her brother Imam Hussain and
[21:31]we understand the value of Imam hussain's mission there's no other lady
[21:38]in Islamic history that can be compared and value to say this
[21:42]Muhammad so how did say to zainab topple the mission destroy the
[21:56]mission of and it's what we're doing today like I've mentioned she
[22:02]established a an action a ritual okay and it's a ritual because
[22:06]the imams instructed it but she established this action of where we
[22:12]gather and we remember the tragedy of Imam and she did this
[22:17]from town to town as she was marched she was dragged around
[22:22]in Chains as a prisoner of war from town to town from
[22:26]karbala to kufa from kufa all the way where to Sean and
[22:32]the thing is when you look at this historically say this ain't
[22:37]even the prisoners of war the little orphaned girls and the widows
[22:40]the survivors of kerbera they weren't taken on a short route they
[22:48]weren't taken on the quickest route to Damascus so from kufa to
[22:52]Damascus there's very famous routes at that time and when we look
[22:57]at the route that they took when they marched sages with her
[23:02]they actually took the long route they took a very long route
[23:08]and there's different reasons why they would take a long growl but
[23:11]it was that that increases the pain and the hardship that she
[23:14]had to go under that they went they took an extra long
[23:19]route to get to Sean now in this route like I mentioned
[23:24]that from town to town whenever the opportunity came she would perform
[23:29]a medulus now maybe a hermetalus at that time looked different than
[23:33]our imagines but imagine this meaning a gathering and commemorating remembering what
[23:39]took place in the tragedy she did that she established that now
[23:42]say to Zain of how long after her brother did she live
[23:46]when we look at it historically say it is in it passed
[23:50]away in the year 62.
[23:51]Imam Hussain passed away when the tragedy of karabara took place when
[23:56]in the year 61.
[23:56]so she lived a year one year after her brother but in
[24:01]that one year she was able to establish this this custom this
[24:04]ritual of commemorating Imam Hussain through the majalis and that became a
[24:09]weapon of mass destruction for Maya that destroyed everything that they worked
[24:16]so hard to build they worked very very hard and tomorrow we'll
[24:20]go into a bit more detail on the process in the order
[24:24]of operations of how Molly did what he did is he did
[24:28]what they did to to you know do you know to succeed
[24:30]at their mission where they thought it was a success but say
[24:34]this ended within one year she was able to destroy all of
[24:37]their work and she's she sparked off something she lit a flame
[24:40]that that burnt their their mission to the ground and it was
[24:47]passed down from generation to generation from one city to the other
[24:50]and this action of gathering to commemorate became a weapon and this
[24:56]weapon destroyed the enemies of Islam's Mission now we call it a
[25:01]weapon but from the outside when you look at crying when you
[25:04]look at sorrow and somebody in the state of sadness does it
[25:08]look like they're strong does it look like strength especially today's date
[25:12]and age when a when a young man is crying or is
[25:15]in the state of Sorrow does the world look at into society
[25:21]look at him as somebody who's strong or do we do we
[25:25]say this is a a characteristic of masculinity when somebody when a
[25:31]man is crying is that how we grew up and Society is
[25:36]that is that is that looked up is that praised where a
[25:40]young man cries or is it the exact opposite where it's looked
[25:45]down upon now for us though we have learned in history as
[25:49]proof of this that our crying for Imam Hussain is actually a
[25:57]weapon and it has great power and it toppled this action of
[26:01]crying displaying grief toppled the strongest Empire the most dangerous Empire on
[26:06]the face of the Earth at the time they had the most
[26:13]troops on the planet okay you can go back in history and
[26:17]look compare them to all of the different empires in the world
[26:19]they had the most troops they had the most equipped troops their
[26:25]military was the most equipped all right and their economic power they
[26:30]were you know they had every Empire and a chokehold they had
[26:35]the empires of Europe and the choke Hall they had the empires
[26:38]in Asia and the so-called and empires in Africa and chokehold every
[26:42]Empire had to do trade through beniamaya they had the most important
[26:46]coastlines the most important trade routes so there was no comparison when
[26:51]it came to power okay for Benny umaya but this simple action
[26:56]of gathering and crying was able to destroy all of their work
[27:01]so that's why I said we are lucky earlier now I want
[27:08]to go on to another topic here which is something that we
[27:13]can learn from all of this so a lot of what we
[27:14]were talking about was history right and tomorrow we'll go into more
[27:19]history but what's a lesson we can take from this and that's
[27:21]my last point for today now when we look at say the
[27:26]zainab and the sabaya you know first of all you got to
[27:28]remember they're not just you know a few widows and a few
[27:35]little girls these are the survivors of karbala because not all of
[27:40]the women and the little children survived there's little girls that were
[27:47]ran over and trampled by horses there's little the children that died
[27:53]in karbala there's women that were killed in so the sabaya represent
[27:59]the survivors on the day of Ashura now these survivors we look
[28:04]at these little girls okay what do they go through when we
[28:11]talk about trauma right we talk about this all the time you
[28:15]hear it everywhere the the danger the damage that trauma does to
[28:19]a child and to their development now we look at say this
[28:25]ain't it I'll go back to the the sabaya say this is
[28:27]she went through many traumatic experiences in her life it's not just
[28:36]Ashura she lost her mother when she was five years old and
[28:42]did she lose her mother in you know normal circumstances or was
[28:48]it a very traumatic event the oppression that took place to her
[28:51]mother said the Fatima was a very traumatic event subhanallah you go
[28:56]back in time saying the Fatima also she lost her mother when
[29:00]she was also five years old when she lost her mother say
[29:07]the Khadija now say the Khadija says and the children from the
[29:14]survivors of kerbera they all were able to take on heavy responsibilities
[29:20]they're able to take on very very heavy responsibilities did their traumatic
[29:29]experiences affect them and not allow them to handle their responsibility and
[29:33]succeed in their goals were they able to focus under pressure that's
[29:39]something that we have to keep in mind was what she was
[29:45]under extreme pressure when she has such a heavy weight as such
[29:48]a heavy and Dangerous Mission which is to save all of the
[29:53]religions of the prophets okay how is she able to handle all
[30:00]that pressure and to fulfill her mission because now each one of
[30:03]us is under pressure right we have different responsibilities that we have
[30:07]to do in our day-to-day life and when we're under a little
[30:11]bit of pressure how does that affect our performance you know I'm
[30:16]under stress that's why I messed up on this or I messed
[30:19]up at work right some of us a homework assignment is too
[30:25]much too much pressure now I'm not trying to pick on you
[30:30]know I'm this I'm this is a reminder for myself you know
[30:32]I I get under pressure and it becomes difficult for me to
[30:37]you know fulfill whatever my duties are at the time and each
[30:40]one of you is going through your own level of responsibilities and
[30:43]and your stress and it's affecting you right so what can we
[30:47]learn from this we see that says her entire life was filled
[30:53]with traumatic experiences from a young age what took place to her
[30:57]grandfather and what the nation did after her grandfather all of that
[31:03]hard work what the nation did to her family when she lost
[31:07]her mother the attacks that took place on her mother her father
[31:10]the oppression that took place on her father and then the battles
[31:15]that her father had to do then the way her father was
[31:17]killed and then her brother Imam Hassan where she goes to him
[31:22]in his last moments and he's he's basically throwing up his organs
[31:26]or the tragedy of kerbera which is the greatest tragedy of all
[31:31]time the most traumatic experience any human being can Witness so she
[31:35]Witnesses all that is that it no much more the the what
[31:41]she witnessed after her brother was killed after Imam Hussain was killed
[31:46]was maybe even more traumatic you know not only she's her brother
[31:51]is murdered in the way he was in front of her but
[31:53]then what they did to his body after and she's witnessing all
[31:58]of this she's witnessing how these military horses you know when we
[32:02]when when it's narrated that the military horses trampled the body of
[32:06]Imam Hussain when you go back in history and and historical reports
[32:11]and you study what kind of military horses did the army of
[32:15]yazid have okay they had they had us first of all they
[32:18]had multiple special Elite forces but that's for another time but they're
[32:22]horses the Hooves of the horse they had special horses that were
[32:27]equipped with armor so it's not just a regular horse it's extra
[32:30]heavy it's equipped with metal okay on all sides and only part
[32:35]of the horse that you can see is its eyes the rest
[32:37]is metal talking about heavy okay they have special Whos you've probably
[32:41]seen a horse in your life but you've seen a simple horse
[32:45]at a farm okay for for simple writing here and there you
[32:48]haven't seen a military style horse at that time so they had
[32:53]special types of horses that are known to do damage and say
[32:58]the Zenith Witnesses how they're going over the body of her brother
[33:03]trampling his body to the point where her brother has nobody left
[33:06]Imam hussain's body was no longer a body it was pieces of
[33:11]a body first of all they took they cut off his head
[33:16]then they trampled his body until the pieces of his body were
[33:21]spread out in the sand so she's witnessing the pieces of the
[33:25]body aside from her her sons that are also butchered in the
[33:30]land of karabara Imagine a mother you want to talk about traumatic
[33:33]experiences a mother having to leave her her but her son's bodies
[33:40]on the land and not even be able to bury them or
[33:46]to cover them their clothes were stolen so imagine all of these
[33:51]traumatic experiences it's not just it's not done there now every single
[33:56]person she loved at that time their heads are what on top
[33:59]of Spears right being marched in front of them every time they
[34:04]cry they look up and they cry because they see their loved
[34:08]ones they're witch okay now she has to take care of all
[34:12]of these little children that are being lift whipped left and right
[34:16]and they're being cursed at all forms of Oppression all forms of
[34:19]traumatic experiences then she gets all the way to the court of
[34:26]yazid and that's another traumatic experience right we go on and on
[34:30]the list doesn't stop these little girls these little girls went through
[34:35]extremely traumatic experiences right and I just mentioned some of them I
[34:39]mean it's one thing when you're witnessing your loved ones being killed
[34:42]and it's another thing when you're running for your life when you
[34:48]have this Army that just finished killing all of your loved ones
[34:51]and now they're attacking you these little girls who their earrings were
[34:54]ripped out of their ears okay any type of gold or any
[34:59]type of jewelry anything valuable they had was stolen from them little
[35:03]girls that were burnt by tents okay trampled by horses so these
[35:08]survivors went through extremely traumatic experiences now how were they able with
[35:15]all of this trauma to still fulfill their duties to fulfill their
[35:21]mission that's what I want to get at right now because we
[35:26]like to in today's world where we're almost taught that if you
[35:30]as a child went through traumatic experiences halots you have so many
[35:35]problems you can have so many mental health issues that you can't
[35:38]be successful at anything in life and that's not true that Elizabeth
[35:43]are clear examples of that the parents were not able to keep
[35:49]their children from traumatic experiences the holy prophet was not able to
[35:57]protect his daughter Fatma from traumatic experiences was not able to protect
[36:02]say to zainab and his children from traumatic experiences all of those
[36:10]children he couldn't protect them from traumatic experiences so what is it
[36:14]what's the key what's the secret ingredient that that added debate with
[36:20]all of this trauma are still able to fulfill their duties to
[36:23]focus on their missions that's very important for us to keep in
[36:29]mind and this is something that each one of us can apply
[36:41]each one of us can apply this this action that the elitebet
[36:48]showed to their loved ones to their children and that's why their
[36:52]children grew up and were so strong and powerful and were able
[36:57]to take on any mission that comes their way no matter which
[37:00]enemy faces them what was it what was the secret ingredient when
[37:06]we look at these little girls how were they treated and what
[37:11]I'm going to say now is a reminder first of all to
[37:13]myself I have little daughters and this is a reminder to myself
[37:16]and now this is also a reminder to each one of you
[37:18]because each one of you is either a parent you're either a
[37:23]sibling an uncle an aunt a cousin okay there's some little children
[37:29]somewhere in your life okay so what is it what was the
[37:36]secret the secret is that when we look at how the prophet
[37:37]treated say to Fatima when she was a little girl when we
[37:42]look at how Imam Ali treated Zenith when she was a little
[37:44]girl when we look at how Mom I say Imam Hussain treated
[37:47]their sister treated their daughters treated his nieces we find that that
[37:55]is the common denominator the love that they displayed the care and
[37:59]the affection that they showed to these little girls and to these
[38:03]little boys is what gave them that power where they developed in
[38:08]such a strong powerful way and that they can take on any
[38:11]stress that comes their way and they can still fulfill their duties
[38:14]it's what it's the love that they showed to the children that's
[38:19]what we learned from the life of the holy prophet sallallahu alaihi
[38:22]every time walked in what did he do now imagine this isn't
[38:27]my dad and your dad you know they might be important to
[38:32]have a few friends and you know leaders of the community visiting
[38:35]them no we're talking about the most powerful the most important man
[38:38]in all of Arabia at the time Prophet Muhammad and he's sitting
[38:43]in a gathering with tribal leaders and you know politicians and all
[38:48]sorts of people who thought that they were important okay important personalities
[38:54]when his little daughter walks in the room what does he do
[38:58]he jumps up to his feet he walks over and he welcomes
[39:02]her he kisses her on the floor and he sits her down
[39:07]then he sits down what is that in Arab culture that is
[39:10]a very clear display of respect honor and love and affection Right
[39:21]there's a report and the confusion is from me that if it's
[39:26]from Imam Ali or from Hassan that when say designer walks in
[39:29]the room and the holy Imam is reading the Quran like this
[39:34]you have to keep in mind the Imam is reading Quran this
[39:39]is a reminder to myself too we know how important the Holy
[39:42]Quran is right the book of Allah the greatest of words it
[39:45]is a worship in itself reciting the book of Allah the great
[39:50]amount of tawab that one receives for recite in the book of
[39:55]Allah and we're talking about the Holy Imam what does he do
[40:00]he shuts the book and he stands up and greets her is
[40:05]that not a clear display of Honor respect love and affection now
[40:12]you have these type of examples and when we you know obviously
[40:17]in karbala we have so many examples of how an Abbas Imam
[40:20]Hussain you know everybody was showing so much love and care for
[40:26]these little girls right the children for the sister the most dangerous
[40:32]of moments he's telling the the his the state is just hearing
[40:36]her cry how it rips his heart into pieces so that's something
[40:44]we have no excuse we might be on the phone thinking we're
[40:47]doing something important right if you're not on social media you're on
[40:51]some group chat I have to get back to this message and
[40:56]your little sister walks in your cousin walks in your niece your
[41:04]daughter your mother your your your your your aunt when a she
[41:11]a lady is she a girl walks in what are we supposed
[41:16]to do we're supposed to display honor and respect that's a very
[41:21]clear message we learned from the Elevate that the woman the Shi
[41:27]a woman in early Islamic history were respected and honored and that's
[41:33]something we have no excuse we not we might not be as
[41:38]Brave and courageous and go on the battlefield and face all of
[41:43]those soldiers we might not have that you know ability on the
[41:50]battlefield but what's our excuse not to show to display honor and
[41:54]respect was she a girl and here's another thing keep in mind
[41:59]is that when you are disrespectful when you all press and again
[42:03]this is a reminder to myself so forgive me if I sound
[42:07]like I'm you know I'm not trying to pick on you this
[42:09]is a reminder to myself and you were all uh dear you
[42:12]know you're all my dear brothers and sisters so but this is
[42:15]important for us to keep in mind when we when we oppress
[42:20]a a girl whatever the age is who established this custom of
[42:28]oppressing she a woman we know for sure it was not the
[42:34]imams it was not the Elevate it was not the early Shia
[42:36]it was the enemies of Islam who established this custom this action
[42:43]of oppressing Shia a woman and Shia girls so next time that
[42:47]you're faced with the situation no matter how angry you are or
[42:50]how emotional you are when you're ready to oppress in any way
[42:55]shape or form is she hey girl you might think you're justified
[43:00]in your actions remember Whose actions you are you are Reviving those
[43:06]who oppressed say the Fatima before I say the Fatima say the
[43:12]Khadijah say to zainab and all of the Shia little girls of
[43:16]the eyelid Bates do you want to be on that side then
[43:20]yes take your oppression and go to hell with those of the
[43:25]people you're following but if you're following the imams if you're found
[43:29]we out of all people should have been showing the most respect
[43:36]for our Sherry girls and it's said I have to mention this
[43:40]because you know I in my experience working with different uh programs
[43:45]and working with different sisters in the community I mean in all
[43:49]states this is a common problem where our sisters feel more respected
[43:54]and honored by a cashier in I don't know Walmart and they
[44:00]feel more comfortable there than they do around Shia amen that's a
[44:07]tragedy our daughters should feel respected and honored by men more than
[44:14]anybody they should feel safe by them they shouldn't feel uncomfortable so
[44:18]there's there's something wrong you know and think about where you fall
[44:22]in this equation are you Reviving the teachings of the early bait
[44:28]when it comes to how we treat our women are you Reviving
[44:30]the policies and the actions of the enemies so that's something I
[44:36]want us to keep in mind and again reminded to myself is
[44:38]that we cannot always keep our children safe from traumatic experiences but
[44:43]we can show them honor respect and love and again this is
[44:49]a reminder to myself but this is something we have no excuse
[44:51]oftentimes we we study about the lives of the imams and it's
[44:57]difficult for us to apply this to our day-to-day life we feel
[45:00]like it's difficult but there's things like this that we have no
[45:06]excuse so I'm going to conclude today's discussion with uh with that
[45:12]that is the partner of Imam Hussain and his mission his holy
[45:15]Mission and that she secured the victory of Imam Hussain and that
[45:21]is why we are here today and it was a prophecy by
[45:23]say to zainab in the face of yazid where she challenged him
[45:28]so inshallah next year we are all you know from now we
[45:33]make our intentions to be able to perform and next year I
[45:36]see you all there pray for me that I have the opportunity
[45:41]I pray for you tomorrow inshallah we'll go into a little bit
[45:44]more depth about the ziara of the arabahin it's past present and
[45:47]most important the future how does that connect to Imam alhamdulillah [Music]
[45:59]oh spoiled foreign [Music] Muhammad is Muhammad is Muhammad that's upcoming it's
[48:09]nice to see everybody still coming and being consistent with the majority
[48:14]what I like to do before we begin the measures is always
[48:18]give a reminder that we're advised that if you can't shed tears
[48:22]advise us if you can have a strong intention and do is
[48:27]before you even begin in the measure list this will help even
[48:29]soften the heart to shed more tears and we know how valuable
[48:33]these tears are through the magellas of the lab to learn commemorating
[48:35]the tragedies that happen and they say if you still can't shed
[48:40]tears at that point to even put your head down in grief
[48:44]and sorrow and showing this type of an etiquette within the magellas
[48:47]inshallah you still get the reward as if you were crying Muhammad
[48:54]foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music]
[51:09]we dedicate this night to the mother who spared her four children
[51:14]ransom for above [Music] foreign [Music] Ashura and sacrifice sacrificing what's most
[51:40]dear to us for Allah Imam of the time sacrificing our habits
[51:47]the good things of this world that don't fit into God's laws
[51:51]this is the time to reflect brothers and sisters this is the
[51:58]time to learn from um and apply it to ourselves listen to
[52:01]these blessed words of poetry regarding um all of my sons I
[52:11]tell my Lord whenever it's in my pray I am the mother
[52:17]gave her sons away I am the mother who gave her sons
[52:30]away I am a mother who has a pride and what a
[52:32]bride I'm the Lioness who gave away all her Pride I gave
[52:47]everything in my Lord I relied I had a voice that like
[52:54]Kylie's Battle Cry Cry with my four children's lives yazid's rule I
[53:02]defy I shook his throne with every son it is the pride
[53:09]that lives with me every day I am the mother who gave
[53:13]her sons away I am the mother who gave her sons away
[53:19]how many doors God opens when one door opens when one door
[53:28]opens I married Ali and raised for him four Lions each one
[53:32]holds each other's back and holds their burdens and then the love
[53:39]of her saying their bond is strengthens they are all but presents
[53:43]to the prince of the heavens and I'd give them if they
[53:48]were four or thousands I tell my Lord you've given me such
[53:53]an honor I sacrificed so Hussain could live forever and I make
[54:01]a promise to you o greater if any surface their names I'll
[54:08]remember if they ask me for a wish then I shall answer
[54:11]to every lover of Hussein I'm a mother they love him they're
[54:19]all my children I will rescue them if in their grief they
[54:22]sway I am a mother who gave her sons away [Music] I
[54:31]am a mother who gave her sons away there was a time
[54:37]after karabala when a man named called out in the city of
[54:44]Medina he told the people about the murdered all of the women
[54:50]gathered and began to crying and did their faces and after hearing
[54:55]what happened in law the city went loud all at once a
[54:59]narrator then said among the women who emerged upon hearing the announcement
[55:05]was um said that I saw a woman holding a child and
[55:19]trying to make her way towards me as she walked in between
[55:25]the morning women um replied I have news however first you must
[55:35]tell me who you are to ask me [Music] um [Applause] [Music]
[55:53][Music] who said he continued saying may Allah reward you for the
[56:29]death of your son Abdullah she then repeated a request against she
[56:35]then repeated a request Against the Machine ambition then said may Allah
[56:41]reward you for the death of your son when she heard our
[56:48]boss's name it is said that she placed her hand on her
[56:50]heart and then she said [Music] foreign you have informed me of
[56:58]the death of my four sons and I know that my sons
[57:03]would sacrifice their lives at this point it is foreign [Music] foreign
[57:50]so that no one other than a woman who has lost one
[57:54]of her beloved sons in karbala can enter to mourn with her
[57:59]the door suddenly knocked the helper asked who's at the door the
[58:07]woman answered that I am her partner in mourning as the helper
[58:12]informs I've told her to ask for the woman's name the woman
[58:17]replied don't save the zainab that I am um the helper then
[58:23]opened the door for her and let her in say yes the
[58:45]conversation went on between um why have you returned alone why are
[59:01]you walking on steady saying what was about her walking with a
[59:08]till should she tell her about the beating the women and the
[59:10]children constantly got after being taken captive shouldn't she tell her about
[59:15]the humiliation through the streets and being exposed to The Strangers should
[59:19]she tell her about the hundreds of miles that she traveled as
[59:26]a stranger one should zainab tell you yeah um I am the
[59:35]mother of your garden protection it is sad to see your back
[59:43]is bad and your tears are falling up the nights were hard
