[0:01]meaning the day of meaning a day like today is just like
[0:06]the eve of the and of course we know that the last
[0:13]10 nights of the holy month of Ramadan were very special in
[0:19]his life some of us as soon as done we check out
[0:21]that's it we our life goes back to normal but in reality
[0:27]during the 10 nights of the month of Ramadan on all the
[0:31]way up until the Eid.
[0:32]You see that the holy prophet was very vigilant, was very careful
[0:37]and he would spend his nights in fact would roll up his
[0:44]mattress.
[0:45]He had a small something that he would sleep on.
[0:47]He would put it aside on the last 10 nights of the
[0:51]month of Ramadan.
[0:53]Meaning that he's not focused on sleep right now.
[0:54]He's not focused on rest right now.
[0:56]Rest could come after.
[0:59]Now he's focused on he's focused on worship.
[1:03]And they tell him, "Yeah, why are you doing this to yourself?
[1:05]Why are you doing so much?
[1:07]Allah subhana wa ta'ala has cleansed you.
[1:09]Allah has purified you." And he would reply, "Should I not be
[1:17]a thankful servant?" Sometimes is not just about if I did something
[1:21]wrong, I need to ask Allah for forgiveness.
[1:24]Maybe I didn't do anything wrong, but I still say Allah.
[1:30]I still repent.
[1:30]Why?
[1:30]Because I need to show Allah subhana wa ta'ala that I'm still
[1:36]a worshipper.
[1:35]I'm still obedient.
[1:38]I'm not proud.
[1:37]I don't have arrogance over toba.
[1:40]I don't have arrogance over.
[1:43]There are some people they say I don't do anything wrong therefore
[1:45]I don't need to do aar.
[1:46]Noah used to say the prophet used to do aar all the
[1:53]time and sometimes it's to show that you are a servant of
[1:59]Allah subhana wa ta'ala to show the obedience to Allah subhanahu wa
[2:02]ta'ala.
[2:03]So this is one point my dear brothers and sisters.
[2:06]Another very important point that many people ask after a long stretch
[2:14]of and dua and prayers and supplications is how do I know
[2:19]that my dua was accepted?
[2:19]How do I know that my prayers were actually accepted?
[2:25]Is there a sign?
[2:26]Is there a way that I could tell?
[2:29]Number one, we believe that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala answers everyone.
[2:37]If you have a shadow of a doubt that Allah subhana wa
[2:39]ta'ala did not accept your dua or did not hear you or
[2:44]did not forgive you or did not listen to you, that means
[2:46]you don't really believe in God as the allhearing.
[2:49]That means you don't really believe in God as the all-seeing.
[2:51]That means you don't really believe in God as Alman.
[2:57]Allah keeps telling me sayman I am the merciful I am the
[3:02]compassionate but I say no God has not forgiven me what am
[3:04]I saying that means I'm saying no you're not theman my sins
[3:10]are bigger than you and that's kufur that's haram so we need
[3:14]to all believe that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala forgives and Allah subhanana
[3:19]wa ta'ala does forgive and Allah subhanana wa ta'ala does listen but
[3:23]then some people they come and they say, "But I'm not seeing
[3:28]results.
[3:29]I need to see tangible results from my duas.
[3:31]I asked for something.
[3:32]I need to see the answer the next day." Well, here is
[3:37]the difference between God and me.
[3:39]I'm not God.
[3:38]And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala knows what's best.
[3:42]Allah subhana wa ta'ala has the knowledge of today, of yesterday, of
[3:46]tomorrow, of in 10 years down the line.
[3:48]Allah subhana wa ta'ala knows what's best for me.
[3:52]And this is why when we look at the duas of the
[3:55]the duas in the Quran of the prophets, you see they ask
[3:57]for general things meaning oh Allah you choose what is good for
[4:05]me.
[4:06]I don't know what's good for me and that's why it's sometimes
[4:10]it's not good to be very specific because we don't know what's
[4:13]best for us.
[4:15]Ask for the and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala opens doors of blessings
[4:19]in our lives in ways that we don't even imagine in ways
[4:25]that we cannot even conceive.
[4:25]In fact, some people they ask where is my dua answered?
[4:28]When is my dua going to be answered?
[4:30]We are drowning in the blessings of God and we ask these
[4:35]silly questions.
[4:34]Allah subhana wa ta'ala every day he's giving you every day Allah
[4:38]subhana wa ta'ala is honoring us and we ask when is our
[4:44]duas going to be answered now my dear brothers and sisters one
[4:50]of the greatest blessings of um that come out of these nights
[4:56]and the nights of worship the the nights of the month of
[5:01]Ramadan maybe it's a blessing that you do not see but that
[5:05]is that Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala forgives all of the sins.
[5:09]Allah subhanana wa ta'ala is very capable and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[5:14]does not break his promises and God is Allah subhanana wa ta'ala
[5:19]will forgive a person's sins and they will as if they will
[5:24]have a clean slate with Allah subhana wa ta'ala you know sometimes
[5:28]we might say something to someone we might not have a good
[5:31]relationship with someone the relationship still remains for a while for a
[5:37]very long time sometimes even years it's not healthy relationship there's always
[5:42]even if they forgiven you still always remember what had happened between
[5:46]the two with Allah subhanana wa ta'ala Allah erases everything Allah subhanahu
[5:52]wa ta'ala will act as if you have not done anything Allah
[5:58]subhana wa t'ala will act as if that sin has not taken
[6:00]place and Allah will even make the angels forget what you have
[6:04]done the angels won't even know what you have done So on
[6:09]these uh nights, great nights, one of the greatest blessings is that
[6:14]Allah subhana wa ta'ala forgives.
[6:16]And as long as a person is truly sincere, as long as
[6:21]a person is truly sincere in their Toba, then Allah subhana t
[6:26]will forgive them.
[6:29]And Allah has promised in the Quran Allah subhanana wa ta'ala forgives
[6:41]all of the sins.
[6:42]I need to believe in that and I need to never lose
[6:46]hope in Allah subhana wa t'ala.
[6:47]But here is the main point my dear brothers and sisters.
[6:51]I believe God will forgive.
[6:52]I know God is forgiving but I have to keep up my
[6:57]end of the deal as well.
[6:57]When I make a when I make a commitment, God will tell
[7:02]me, "I will forgive, but you need to keep up your end
[7:04]of the deal." A lot of us, we don't keep up our
[7:07]end of the deal.
[7:09]I say, "I won't go back.
[7:11]The next day, I go back to the same sin.
[7:14]Where's the deal?
[7:13]Where's the promise that I made?
[7:17]I broke my promise like that." So here, forgiveness is a process.
[7:22]And one of the first steps of the process is to stop
[7:26]the sins, to stop the wrong.
[7:31]Sometimes it's not a sin that I'm doing, but it's a bad
[7:33]habit that opens the doors to other sins.
[7:36]So, see, sometimes maybe we gossip, but I don't like gossiping.
[7:42]I say, "I don't want to gossip, but when do I gossip?"
[7:45]When I'm hanging around a bad group of friends.
[7:49]hanging around friends is not haram.
[7:51]But maybe I need to change my life.
[7:53]I need to change my schedule.
[7:54]I need to change who who I hang out with.
[7:58]And once I do that, then I will see the blessings pour
[8:03]down in my life.
[8:03]Because sometimes there are some life habits that stop us from reaching
[8:07]our highest potential.
[8:10]And mentions this There are sins.
[8:20]They are the reasons for our suffering.
[8:22]I I say I promise I want to change my life.
[8:25]Allah tells me I will forgive but then I keep going back.
[8:30]I can't let go of these habits.
[8:31]In one of the most beautiful duas that is recited during the
[8:34]month of Ramadan at the time of Sah Zin.
[8:40]He would recite this beautiful dua dua Abu Hamza.
[8:44]This great companion of the Im Abu Hamza he says I heard
[8:49]the im at the time of Sahar.
[8:50]He began to recite this beautiful dua beautiful dua.
[8:55]If you have not recited this dua during these nights make sure
[9:00]you recite even one page even one paragraph from this dua.
[9:06]The imam he mentions some of the reasons why we keep falling
[9:09]back in sin.
[9:12]He says, He says, "Every time I try, I come and I
[9:33]make a commitment.
[9:37]I get sleepy.
[9:39]I get drowsy.
[9:40]I feel I feel that there's a gravity, something that's pulling me
[9:44]away from you." And then he says, He says, "Why is it
[10:04]that every time I try, every time I make a promise, I
[10:07]cannot keep my promise?
[10:10]Every time I make a commitment, I am unable to keep that
[10:14]commit commitment." And then he says, Allchech.
[10:57]The Imam is talking about the bad habits that we have.
[11:01]These bad habits might not necessarily be sins.
[11:04]Maybe I like to hang out with the wrong group of people.
[11:06]I like to spend time around things that don't remind me of
[11:11]God.
[11:11]If they tell me there's a party, there's a gathering, we all
[11:14]rush to it.
[11:15]They tell me there's a masjid, there's this and that.
[11:18]We're all are are we we drag our feet and we cannot
[11:21]go.
[11:21]Why?
[11:22]Because I don't have that interest in God.
[11:24]I don't have that passion towards my religion.
[11:27]The same way I have a passion towards a Super Bowl game
[11:30]or towards any sports or any gathering or any of these things.
[11:36]So Allah subhana wa ta'ala love is mutual.
[11:37]Imagine you have a friend and you kind of are not really
[11:41]committed to that relationship.
[11:42]You're dragging your feet every time he invites you.
[11:46]But then if someone else invites you, you run to them.
[11:48]What kind of a friendship is that?
[11:50]Is that a healthy friendship?
[11:54]That's not a healthy friendship.
[11:55]So here the imisam, he addresses these issues.
[11:59]He says, "I need to change my habits.
[12:02]I need to change my lifestyle because Allah subhanana wa ta'ala does
[12:06]not shut a door for no reason.
[12:08]Doors are shut because of our own actions and because of our
[12:12]own habits.
[12:13]We ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to help us and give us
[12:16]the strength to be able to change the habits into positive ones.
[12:32]Muhammaduhammed.
[12:34][cough] Alhamdulillah.
[12:48]Alhamdulillah.
[13:17]Ali Muhammadu Muhammad Muhammad for Hussein.
[13:53]Sayham Ali.
[14:19]Brothers and sisters, please fill the gaps.
[14:22]so that people can make it in.
[14:25]There are some empty spots here and there are people outside.
[14:26]There's no space for them.
[14:28]Please come forward and fill the gaps.
[14:36]>> We are talking about how do I know that God has
[14:41]forgiven me after a whole night of of worship during this holy
[14:47]month of Ramadan.
[14:47]Number one, don't go back to sins.
[14:50]That's it.
[14:51]You have to make a promise.
[14:52]For how long do I keep breaking my promise?
[14:55]I need to make that commitment.
[14:57]Number two, sometimes it's not a sin.
[15:01]Sometimes it's a bad habit that I need to stop because this
[15:07]bad habit opens the door towards sinning.
[15:11]And number three, my dear brothers and sisters, one of the mo
[15:14]very important things that we can all do is that we have
[15:20]to fix the bad.
[15:23]We have to amend.
[15:23]We have to make changes.
[15:24]If I hurt someone and I come and I say, "I forgive
[15:27]me." Okay, Allah says, "I will forgive you, but you need to
[15:32]still sort it out with the person that you hurt." If I
[15:34]stole money from someone, if I oppress someone and I come and
[15:38]I beg God, Allah tells me, I will forgive you from my
[15:40]part.
[15:40]But you need to fix your affairs with people.
[15:44]And this is something that is natural.
[15:46]We need to fix our affairs with people and we need to
[15:50]also fix our affairs with God.
[15:55]Some of us, for example, I have not prayed.
[15:56]Now I come and I want to do Toba.
[16:00]Allah says, I will welcome you.
[16:01]Come, come.
[16:00]You are welcome to do Toba.
[16:04]I will forgive you.
[16:04]I will accept.
[16:07]But don't forget to make up those prayers.
[16:09]You still have those prayers that you may that you miss.
[16:11]You have to go and make them up.
[16:13]Some of us we think that Allah since he forgave me then
[16:17]that's it.
[16:16]Because if you knew about the salah, there's a difference between someone
[16:21]who was not a Muslim.
[16:23]They didn't know about the salah.
[16:24]Then they came and they said they became a Muslim.
[16:29]Now salah became now they have to do it.
[16:32]So that's why scholars say they don't need to do the prayers
[16:34]before they were Muslim.
[16:36]But if someone was a Muslim, someone was born into a Muslim
[16:39]family, they knew Salah was waj on them and they were not
[16:41]praying.
[16:42]Now they want to do tba.
[16:45]Allah will forgive.
[16:45]Allah is the all forgiving.
[16:46]Never allow anyone to push you from the gates of mercy of
[16:52]Allah subhana wa tala.
[16:52]Allah is very merciful.
[16:53]But you still have to fix our affairs.
[16:54]We still have to pray.
[16:56]Allah is going to ask me about these prayers.
[16:59]Allah is going to ask me about my Hajj if I have
[17:00]not gone.
[17:01]Allah is going to ask me about mys and my zakat and
[17:05]all of my responsibilities that we have.
[17:09]So we need to fix our affairs.
[17:11]Here I want to say a story.
[17:12]This is narrated by one of the companions of IM by the
[17:18]name of Abu Bas.
[17:19]Abu Basir was a great companion of the Imams of the Alb
[17:24]and he was living in Kufa and Imam Saddak was living in
[17:27]Medina.
[17:27]Abu Bas he says I had a neighbor.
[17:31]This neighbor used to work for Beni.
[17:34][clears throat] He used to work for the Omeayads and he was
[17:40]in the wrong.
[17:40]He was always having parties.
[17:42]He's drinking.
[17:44]He's he's doing uh things that are that are very off.
[17:50]And he says he's my neighbor and I used to always do
[17:52]I used to always come and tell him when are you changing
[17:55]your life?
[17:56]Look, you're getting older.
[17:57]How long are you going to be living this life?
[18:02]He says he would he would ignore me.
[18:06]And then and then I kept insisting and insisting and then after
[18:11]a while after I insisted he comes and he tells me listen
[18:17]I have this is a this is a this is something I
[18:22]can't let go of.
[18:25]But the man had a little bit of good in him.
[18:30]And that good was that he knew who was a close friend
[18:32]to Abu Bas.
[18:34]And who was a close friend to Abu Bas at that time?
[18:39]Im Saddakam.
[18:37]He knew that Imam Saddak is the grandson of the prophet and
[18:43]he's he's this great man.
[18:44]So he tells him, "Listen, I have a problem and I need
[18:47]you.
[18:48]Can you ask Imam Saddak to pray for me?
[18:50]Ask Imam Saddak to pray for me and then maybe Allah will
[18:56]change my life." That means he never let go hope in Allah
[18:58]subhanaa tala.
[18:59]That means there's always a little bit of attachment to good.
[19:04]And I see a lot of people they do that.
[19:04]Sometimes I meet people they're in the wrong and they say say
[19:09]please pray for me.
[19:09]Maybe I could change my life.
[19:12]Maybe my life will change.
[19:12]That's a good sign.
[19:12]That means you still have good in you.
[19:14]And everyone has good in them.
[19:17]Abu Bas he says I kept it in my mind when I
[19:21]go see Im Saddak I go to Medina and then he says
[19:22]I tell the im I have a neighbor and he says he
[19:27]says I have this problem I keep falling back in the sin
[19:33]the imisam he tells him tell your neighbor that if he keeps
[19:36]his word I will keep my word I will guarantee him paradise
[19:41]but he has to make changes in his life the imam says
[19:46]I will guarantee him paradise but he needs to make changes in
[19:48]his life.
[19:50]Abu Bas he says I went back and he said that my
[19:55]meaning my im he made you a promise that he will support
[19:58]you he will pray for you he will help you he will
[20:01]be there for you but you have to make some changes.
[20:05]The man he said really this is what the imam said he
[20:07]said yes this is what the imam said.
[20:09]So then that man he went on a course of changing his
[20:14]life.
[20:15]That's it.
[20:17]He went all of the haram that he had acquired because he
[20:19]used to work for benya.
[20:23]He used to take from people's wealth.
[20:25]So he started giving back the properties and giving back the money
[20:29]to everyone that he had taken from.
[20:31]Abu Bas he says a few days later I go and I
[20:35]check up on him.
[20:37]I go and I knock on the door.
[20:39]He stands behind the door.
[20:39]He has no clothes.
[20:41]I tell him, "What happened?" He said, "Didn't your imam say that
[20:45]everything haram that I have, I have to give it back." He
[20:48]said, "Everything in my life was haram.
[20:50]All my money was haram." So Abu Bas, he says, "We went
[20:54]with a with a group of friends.
[20:55]We went and we got him some food.
[20:56]We went and we he had gotten rid of everything, his furniture,
[21:00]everything.
[21:00]He got rid of it." He says, "We went and we gave
[21:04]him some food.
[21:05]We gave gave him some clothes." And he says, "I kept over
[21:08]the next few weeks and days, I kept checking up on him.
[21:12]I saw that his health became weaker and weaker and weaker until
[21:16]he was dying." The man, Subhan Allah, Allah, some people they live
[21:20]a whole life in the wrong, but in the end their is
[21:26]good.
[21:26]He was dying.
[21:24]He said, "I went to him and I was checking up on
[21:30]him.
[21:31]He was in the pangs of death and he was on and
[21:35]off.
[21:35]He opened his eyes and he tells me, "Oh Abu Bas, your
[21:38]your companion, your Imam, he kept his word with me.
[21:44]I see paradise in front of me.
[21:45]Your Imam kept his word and then he died." And then Abu
[21:52]Bas he says, "I went to Medina when I was going to
[21:56]the Hajj.
[21:57]I go to see Imam.
[21:58]I enter at the door.
[22:01]The imam is sitting.
[22:01]He sees me from far and the first thing he tells me.
[22:07]Oh, I kept my word with your man as well.
[22:12]What does this show us?
[22:16]This shows us that if we truly want to repent, if we
[22:18]are sincere, Allah subhana wa ta'ala does forgive.
[22:22]And these nights on the nights of power when we put the
[22:28]Quran on our head and we say Hassani Hussein and we mention
[22:33]the names of the imams that means we're asking for their help
[22:36]as well because we need help.
[22:36]We need help from Allah.
[22:39]We need help from the and they do help us.
[22:43]So we ask Allah subhanana wa ta'ala to help us make these
[22:46]changes in our lives so that our lives can become purified and
[22:53]closer to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[22:56]My dear brothers and sisters, on this Friday, the last Friday of
[23:00]the holy month of Ramadan, next Friday, there's a great chance that
[23:04]we will have a united Eid.
[23:05]Everyone will be celebrating Eid on the same day.
[23:09]And Friday will be that means this is the last of the
[23:14]holy month of Ramadan.
[23:13]That means this is one of our last chances to pray to
[23:20]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala on this Friday because the times are the
[23:24]time is moving and there's no guarantee that I will make it
[23:29]for next Ramadan.
[23:28]There's no guarantee.
[23:31]So ask Allah subhana wa ta'ala.
[23:32]And the day of Jum is a day of dua.
[23:35]The day of Jum is a day of supplication.
[23:38]The day of Jum is the day to do good to make
[23:43]amends in our lives on these moments.
[23:44]Pray and ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to hasten the reappearance of
[23:48]the Imam of our time.
[23:48]Ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to bring his justice and his mercy
[23:56]to those who are suffering right now.
[24:00]Right now in Iran, in Lebanon and across the world, there are
[24:05]people that are suffering, but especially these two countries in Iran and
[24:08]in Lebanon.
[24:09]over I a few days ago I heard that over 8,000 homes
[24:15]were destroyed in Iran because of the aggression because of the Israeli
[24:18]and American aggression.
[24:19]Right now in Lebanon there are a lot of people that are
[24:22]living in the streets.
[24:24]They don't have a place to sleep.
[24:26]They're they have tents and they have them in the streets because
[24:28]in the the last war they were able to go to Iraq.
[24:33]Now even the path to Iraq is closed.
[24:35]Where are they going to go?
[24:35]So there are people that are suffering.
[24:38]There are people that have nothing.
[24:40]On this day, we ask Allah for his divine justice and we
[24:45]ask Allah subhana wa ta'ala for his divine mercy and we ask
[24:48]Allah for his divine wrath upon the oppressors.
[24:51]Those who have no respect for human rights, those who have no
[24:55]respect and don't respect the sanctity of the human life and human
[24:59]blood.
[25:00]We ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to remove them and to stop
[25:07]their corruption and their filth and their evil.
[25:09]My dear brothers and sisters, this j is also considered to be
[25:16]the day of the day of and today there is a a
[25:18]procession in front of the centennial library in Dearbornne at 6 p.m.
[25:25]If you're able to attend, you can attend.
[25:25]If you can't pray for the do dua and in any capacity
[25:31]that you can say and do what you can do.
[25:34]My dear brothers and sisters on the day of Eid, everyone has
[25:41]to give zakat.
[25:40]Every person has to give zakat.
[25:42]The head of the household, the one who brings in the income,
[25:46]the one who spent, they have to give the zakat for everyone
[25:48]in the household.
[25:51]And they estimate it between $10 to $15.
[25:55]I my recommendation people ask I say $15.
[25:58]Why?
[25:59]Because $10 is for the one that doesn't eat meat and chicken
[26:01]and fish and and all the good food every day.
[26:04]For you who are eating and enjoying life, give more.
[26:07]It's okay.
[26:07]There's nothing wrong with that.
[26:10]You give the higher end of it for each person in the
[26:13]family.
[26:14]And if you want to send your money, your zakat overseas, you
[26:19]have to think about it now because it needs to arrive on
[26:22]the day of Eid or before the day of Eid.
[26:25]It should not arrive after the day of Eid.
[26:28]So I know many people they want to send back home.
[26:30]They want to give for those who are in need.
[26:32]You have to do that from now so that on the day
[26:35]of Eid the money has already arrived.
[26:37]You don't wait on the day of Eid.
[26:39]You still you want to begin the process.
[26:40]This is if you want to send to your family, which is
[26:45]highly recommended.
[26:44]If you don't know anyone, we are going to have boxes here
[26:50]and we have also on our um on our website there is
[26:52]a link to give your zakat.
[26:56]You just give for $15 per person.
[26:57]And we're going to have boxes here that the zakat could be
[27:00]given before the day of Eid.
[27:03]You have all the way until the day of Eid to give
[27:04]your zakat.
[27:06]My dear brothers and sisters, another very important announcement is that we
[27:13]alhamdulillah and inshallah we are planning on um groundbreaking very soon.
[27:18]Maybe inshallah in June we will be groundbreaking but we are still
[27:22]very much short in raising the funds for the groundbreaking.
[27:27]We alhamdulillah we had a campaign for the prayer spots and that
[27:30]one was a very successful campaign.
[27:32]Now we are launching another campaign for the gym because the the
[27:38]building is going to have a musah.
[27:39]It's going to have a gymnasium and it's going to have classrooms.
[27:42]So inshallah now we're focusing on the gymnasium raising the funds for
[27:47]the gymnasium.
[27:48]And this is something that your kids, your family, there's going to
[27:51]be times for men, there's going to be times for women.
[27:53]This is a place, it's a community center.
[27:56]So please, we ask you and this is the month of Ramadan.
[28:02]There are many people that wait for these opportunities to come and
[28:05]there are some people that run away from these opportunities.
[28:08]Don't be the one that runs away from these opportunities.
[28:09]This is a blessing that is coming your way.
[28:14]This is an opportunity.
[28:13]Later on, people will look and they will say, "Alhamdulillah, I participated
[28:18]in this." And those who didn't, they're going to say, "I wish
[28:23]I had participated in this." My dear brothers and sisters, we ask
[28:26]for your support.
[28:26]The campaign that we're having is that we need $3,000 for each
[28:33]spot, for each name.
[28:34]It's about $3,000.
[28:37]And this could be given over um a period.
[28:40]If you give it within a year, it's $250 a month.
[28:41]And that will be a be able to raise it.
[28:44]You could do it on behalf of yourself and you could do
[28:47]it on behalf of your children who will be benefiting from this,
[28:49]who will be playing in this gymnasium and who will be coming
[28:54]and spending time here.
[28:56]We ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to bless you all.
[29:16]for Quran.
[29:45]United.
[30:19]Ahmed turnbased.
[30:52]Hay.
[30:54]I am.
