[0:00]for the Hastings of the reappearance the return of the Savior the

[0:08]Avenger the master recites Muhammad [Music] it's the day Imam al-hussein is

[0:33]about to begin his journey towards karbala he is on sacred grounds

[0:41]in the holy city of Mecca there's a lot of talk a

[0:50]lot of discussions as to what the Imam is going to do

[0:54]whether he's actually headed towards kufa the kufins are not known for

[1:01]their loyalty for keeping their word so the Imam delivers a sermon

[1:07]I read to you a few nights ago portions of that sermon

[1:14]in which the Imam delivers to us incredibly insightful messages that explain

[1:26]many of the enigmatic acts that he undertook the biggest and most

[1:37]important of which was the idea that he is essentially putting himself

[1:43]In Harm's Way that he is headed in a direction where he

[1:49]knows he's going to get killed and that is not something that

[1:54]a normal person would do if you know that by leaving this

[2:04]room there's a raging Maniac a psychopath with a gun or a

[2:09]knife and he intends to kill people the smart thing to do

[2:14]is to stay inside The Logical position to take is to avoid

[2:18]the danger that you know to be lurking behind those doors so

[2:24]why is Imam al-hussein doing this the Imam explains it in a

[2:31]nutshell I mentioned portions of this sermon I want to focus on

[2:35]another part of this very short and yet insightful sermon where the

[2:39]Imam remember we said that he says I know I'm going to

[2:46]get killed and my filaments my joints my limbs will be torn

[2:50]apart the Imam even specifies the location of the massacre in other

[3:03]words he's telling them I know better than any of you what's

[3:06]going to happen but I'm on a mission and that mission needs

[3:11]to be fulfilled I even know the location I know the exact

[3:16]acts the heinous crimes that will be perpetrated against me and how

[3:26]my honor my sanctity will be violated the Wolves the beasts of

[3:35]the desert will tear me apart foreign they will fill their stomachs

[3:51]and their bags with my limbs then he says I have been

[4:04]given a choice of how I will be killed and I'm headed

[4:07]in that direction which tells us that as far as Imam al-hussein

[4:13]was concerned when we go through problems in our lives usually they're

[4:19]a result of Providence they're a result of accidents or things that

[4:25]we would perceive as accidents right they're a result of the forces

[4:31]of nature coming together and resulting in those troubles but in the

[4:37]case of God's proofs the prophets The Messengers they are given a

[4:43]choice do you want to go down this path Allah gives them

[4:47]that choice they choose to go down the path they choose to

[4:53]be subjected to all those Harms because Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala wants them

[4:59]to or because Allah promises them certain things in the case of

[5:06]Imam al-hussein the promise was guidance on Mass the promise was that

[5:11]this religion would be preserved was that the hard work of the

[5:18]holy prophet would be protected if you would like that religion to

[5:26]be saved from the monkeys that ascended the pulpit of rasulullah then

[5:30]this is your choice I've been given this option this choice and

[5:39]I've made my choice I'm headed towards my death then he says

[5:47]God's pleasure and satisfaction is connected to ours and we spoke about

[5:57]this concept in the early Knights of this modulus how if you're

[6:02]intention is to know whether Allah is pleased with you then you

[6:07]have to use the litmus test of the Imam of the time

[6:09]you have to use the proof of Allah as a means of

[6:17]measuring whether God is pleased with you then he says and I

[6:21]want you to focus on this part of the sermon he says

[6:33]the prophet the Imam says his limbs will not be separated from

[6:43]him his body parts will return to him in other words that

[6:49]killing me will not end God's project on this Earth it will

[6:55]not bring to an end the aim of Allah for Humanity that

[7:03]just because they're going to dismember my body it will not create

[7:07]a victory for evil because ultimately my limbs will be returned with

[7:13]rasulullah they will be given back to the holy prophet in the

[7:18]garden of and the Sublime Garden of paradise then he says these

[7:32]two statements will be the subject of our modulus tonight he says

[7:38]that when I return to the holy prophet the eyes of the

[7:44]holy prophet will rest the prophet will rejoice by me being returned

[7:52]to him and his promise will be fulfilled what's the Imam talking

[7:59]about here let me give you an introduction Allah created this world

[8:07]this Dunya and the intention from the very beginning wasn't for God

[8:15]to govern with his coercion by that I mean Allah didn't want

[8:23]to force us into submission he didn't want Humanity to be good

[8:28]law-abiding submissive creatures of God by sheer Brute Force you could have

[8:38]easily done that Allah could force us into submission without any effort

[8:47]on his part but he chose not to do that instead what

[8:50]we got was a system listen very carefully this has a lot

[8:56]of practical implications a lot of theoretical problems could be solved instead

[9:02]Allah created a system where he gave us the space to operate

[9:08]with freedom that freedom isn't absolute we're still subject to the limitations

[9:17]of space-time we're still subject to physical laws we're still subject to

[9:26]the problems and the obstacles that come in our way right we're

[9:32]still subject to our genetics there are lots of things that shape

[9:39]our actions you can't be whatever you want to be But ultimately

[9:43]we were given a sizable space around us in which we could

[9:51]operate with relative Freedom we could make our own choices if I

[9:55]am black I can't be white if I'm white I can't be

[10:01]black if I am from a royal lineage for instance I can't

[10:07]be someone who's not from a royal lineage and vice versa these

[10:11]things I can't change about myself although people will try if he's

[10:16]a man he wants to be a woman if he's a woman

[10:19]he wants to be a man so they will try but ultimately

[10:25]we are still limited by these physical laws and by these genetic

[10:29]elements and by environmental elements however the choices that we make are

[10:36]our own I'm sure you can all relate I choose to either

[10:40]come to this Gathering where the best of divine values are honored

[10:45]and celebrated and embraced or I could go somewhere else where all

[10:51]my intention is to satisfy my base desires I make a choice

[10:56]sometimes the choice is more difficult than others but ultimately The Choice

[11:02]Is Mine so Allah didn't want to coerce us a there is

[11:11]no compulsion in religion a lot of people misunderstand this verse they're

[11:15]like yeah it just means that I can do whatever I want

[11:19]that's not what it means is indicative it's an expression of God's

[11:26]meta law of allowing us the choice to either do good or

[11:35]evil foreign the choices have been made clear you know what's right

[11:54]you know what's wrong and you know that even before you're exposed

[11:59]to religious teachings because you know it as a result and thanks

[12:07]to an intrinsic nature that Allah has embedded in all of you

[12:10]you have that nature you have that Essence that guides you towards

[12:18]good and allows you to avoid evil then religion comes along prophets

[12:23]Messengers they all come and they give you reminders that hey this

[12:29]is wrong this is good this is right so they give you

[12:32]these reminders to help you navigate life in this world so didn't

[12:39]want to compel us didn't want to coerce us into submission the

[12:46]result is what when you don't have imagine a country or imagine

[12:51]a system of roads where you don't have law enforcement officers you

[12:57]don't have speed cameras you don't have highway patrol cars you don't

[13:04]have police force to enforce the law of the land what's going

[13:08]to happen some people will do the right thing they'll follow the

[13:14]law they will ensure that they drive in a manner that is

[13:21]uh compatible with the right thing and others will take advantage of

[13:26]the fact that they're not going to be caught they'll take advantage

[13:29]of the freedom that's been given to them where they can do

[13:33]things without immediate repercussions of course there are repercussions of course if

[13:38]they drive too fast in an area they're supposed to drive slower

[13:42]they might get into an accident they might die they might injure

[13:46]someone they might kill other people so there's always going to be

[13:50]repercussions but the lack of immediate repercussions and law enforcement will make

[13:56]some people think that they can operate with impunity and without any

[14:02]effects and that's exactly what happened in this Dunya Allah had a

[14:13]plan he had a program he had a set of aims and

[14:19]objectives for this world but evil took over people who do not

[14:29]wish to submit to the will of Allah delinquents rebellious individuals took

[14:37]over and so you had tyrants after tyrants ruling the Earth if

[14:45]you think about it go back to the time of Adam all

[14:50]the way to the time of the reappearance of The Twelve Imam

[14:54]the periods and the phases in which the right people ruled the

[15:03]world are incredibly fleeting and brief what can you think of the

[15:09]times when God's actual Vice gerunds and proofs were the ones who

[15:15]led humanity and applied God's law and provided Justice to the people

[15:19]what can you think of you might say the time of the

[15:24]Prophet Solomon for instance Prophet David the time the very brief time

[15:29]of the holy prophet the brief time of less than four years

[15:34]right the majority of the time that we have observed in the

[15:44]history of the world is nothing but oppression Injustice evil why because

[15:49]those who are evil and have immoral inclinations will seize the moment

[15:54]and take advantage of the fact that they can do whatever they

[15:59]want without a lightning striking them and destroying them without God's chastisement

[16:04]coming and obliterating them they'll take advantage of it but is that

[16:13]all there is to see in this world did God create this

[16:20]world for people like that to rule let me give you an

[16:26]example imagine you're a philanthropist or you're someone who wants to serve

[16:33]the community and so you put in the time you put in

[16:36]the effort you put in the funds you put in the money

[16:40]the endless hours of planning to build a school so that you

[16:47]could educate the Next Generation wonderful initiative with the right intentions and

[16:54]the right syllabus if you actually do this you are worthy of

[16:59]much praise and admiration imagine you do this then a group comes

[17:08]along and these people exploit certain holes in your Constitution or they

[17:13]take advantage of legal loopholes to take over the school they steal

[17:19]it from you now because they're evil and because they are corrupt

[17:24]who's going to graduate from this school people who are good people

[17:29]who are moral if the management of the school is corrupt what

[17:34]do you expect is going to be the end result of the

[17:39]students who studied in that school and now the Hadith says people

[17:45]subscribe to the religion of their kings of their rulers and so

[17:50]what happens is that you're going to end up with corrupt delinquent

[17:53]rebellious evil immoral people who graduate from the school and the Vicious

[18:03]Cycle continues now imagine someone comes up to you and says what

[18:09]happened you built the School you worked so hard you had lofty

[18:13]aspirations for this school you had aims and objectives to educate the

[18:18]community so that the Next Generation would come out better than the

[18:21]previous one look what happened your response is going to be what

[18:26]that I was overpowered I couldn't do it they stole it from

[18:34]me they literally stole the school so why didn't you fight back

[18:37]you'll say I tried I tried but I didn't have the resources

[18:40]I didn't have the money I tried hiring a lawyer I tried

[18:44]complaining to the government I tried all these things but the other

[18:48]side is stronger more financially able more motivated and vicious they're ruthless

[18:54]so what could I do now here's my question the fact that

[19:01]Allah created this world and it ended up in the hands of

[19:07]Ruthless vicious immoral unethical tyrants how do you explain that either this

[19:12]was God's plan all along which obviously that doesn't make any sense

[19:17]because remember Allah sent Adam he created him and said Khalifa I

[19:26]the reason I'm creating humanity is that I have a vice gerund

[19:33]a representative on Earth Adam and the subsequent Prophets some people sometimes

[19:39]misinterpret this verse and say mankind is God's Khalifa rubbish absolute rubbish

[19:45]yazid is God's Khalifa Adam was God's Khalifa sheath was God's Khalifa

[19:51]habil was God's Khalifa the prophets and Messengers not every random person

[19:56]is God's Khalifa and if that was the intention for the creation

[20:04]of mankind surely this is contradictory with the reality that we see

[20:09]around us the fact that the world has taken over by people

[20:12]who are immoral and vicious and ruthless and unjust so that's not

[20:18]God's objective for sure that leaves another explanation which is that God

[20:26]was unable to take back what's his and to apply and fulfill

[20:34]his Destiny for the world just like the one who has his

[20:39]school stolen from him that obviously doesn't make any sense either How

[20:43]Could You worship a God who is so weak who is so

[20:48]Meek who is so feeble who's not able to do what he

[20:52]planned to do to begin with so it's neither that or this

[20:57]there is a third possibility and before I mention it remember Allah

[21:05]did not create this world so that frown rules so that Haman

[21:16]rules so that namrud rules all the way so that kabil kills

[21:20]habil he didn't create this world for this purpose surely this doesn't

[21:25]add up it doesn't make any sense Allah didn't create the world

[21:29]so that the first and the second that uthman would rule foreign

[21:41]the third one got up nothing the Imam says the third one

[21:59]rose and took over and he came with his big heaving breasts

[22:04]that's how the Imam describes him he says he came and he

[22:12]spent his time between his father I'll leave you to read the

[22:19]actual meaning of these words the Imam says he spent his days

[22:22]basically between eating and then excreting eating and excreting and him and

[22:31]his family meaning they came along like a hungry camel who hasn't

[22:37]had food except thorns in the desert and then suddenly they come

[22:41]across this beautiful tasty summer foliage these green grass the way the

[22:54]camel begins to devour this grass is how the Imam describes the

[22:59]way Benny Omega devoured the funds of the Muslim Nation Allah created

[23:05]the world for that for people like this so that his proof

[23:12]on Earth would be trampled upon by the horse's hooves clearly not

[23:19]something is not adding up the answer is this my dear brothers

[23:25]and sisters the answer is found in Verses in the Quran like

[23:30]for instance we have written from eternity from the Psalms of David

[23:48]this isn't exclusive to the Quran the promise of the Savior had

[23:53]been made many many centuries before that in the Psalms of David

[24:01]and in the Torah of Musa surely the Earth shall be inherited

[24:09]by who by those who are righteous by those who are good

[24:12]in other words Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has made the world a

[24:18]place of trial and tribulation a place where a few tyrants will

[24:24]get their chance they'll be able to wreak a little Havoc here

[24:29]and there they'll be able to corrupt the Earth they'll be able

[24:40]to kill prophets and Messengers as well as their children and their

[24:44]families they'll be able to do these things they'll be given the

[24:49]chance because it's meant to be a test for you and I

[24:50]it's meant to sift the good from the bad yeah this happens

[24:56]because it's the Dunya there's a video on YouTube where someone goes

[25:01]to a Jewish rabbi and he says to him that Muslims level

[25:07]an accusation against us Jews and they say that the Jews are

[25:11]Prophet killers they've killed their own prophets the Israelites so the rabbi's

[25:16]response is I'm going to plead guilty on that yeah it's true

[25:22]Jews killed their prophets then he mentions a couple of examples he

[25:26]says the prophet Zachariah who's mentioned in the talmud he says that

[25:31]he came to the Israelites in the temple and he said to

[25:37]them be good be moral don't commit sins what did they do

[25:39]they slaughtered him right then and there and his blood continued to

[25:45]boil for over a hundred years he said yeah we did that

[25:49]to our prophets and we suffered as a result the reason the

[25:52]Exodus took so long the reason the temple isn't back being rebuilt

[25:57]the reason for all of these things that we're suffering from is

[26:00]because of these heinous vicious acts of aggression and transgression against God

[26:07]and his vice gerunds and Prophets says I'm going to plead guilty

[26:14]it's true all these things have happened because Allah has a meta

[26:19]law again this is key this helps explain a lot of things

[26:23]there are laws and then there are meta laws laws that govern

[26:29]other laws one of them is called it is the Sunnah the

[26:36]tradition the metal law that Allah will give time he doesn't want

[26:42]to force anybody into submission he doesn't want to resort to coercion

[26:47]and compulsion he wants to give people time to express themselves to

[26:52]show themselves for who they really are the good and the bad

[26:56]that's where the test lies if everybody was being forced at gunpoint

[27:01]to do the right thing how do you know who's good and

[27:03]who's bad you have to give them that space you have to

[27:07]give them the chance the opportunity to do to express themselves their

[27:10]true nature has to come out and so yes prophets would be

[27:26]killed Messengers would be killed their families they'd be exiled but Allah

[27:34]has made a promise only he says in the end I along

[27:44]with my prophets will win we will have the final victory this

[27:48]isn't about Judgment Day Judgment Day is the ultimate Day of Reckoning

[27:56]it is when the record is set it's done people go to

[27:58]heaven and hell everybody goes to where they're supposed to go we're

[28:01]talking about this Dunya we're talking about the fact that in this

[28:06]Dunya that was created for another purpose Allah has to emerge as

[28:14]the ultimate Victor how do we know that look at the verses

[28:17]of the Quran the Earth shall be inherited by the righteous slaves

[28:25]of Allah not Paradise those who doubt in the reappearance of the

[28:30]master the Imam of the time the of Allah or those who

[28:38]doubt the Raja the return of the most righteous so they could

[28:42]rule this Earth with equity and Justice and turn it into a

[28:47]mini Paradise what are they going to do with these verses or

[28:51]when Allah says again I said this last night and the nights

[28:57]before as Believers you need to know these things you need to

[29:00]establish a firm foundation for your Creed for your beliefs so that

[29:03]they become unshakable so that one misconception from a YouTube video or

[29:08]some tweet or some post somewhere doesn't shake you look at these

[29:14]verses [Applause] we shall surely verily support and Grant Victory to our

[29:31]Messengers and the Believers in this Dunya as well as on the

[29:35]day the witnesses rise I foreign victory has to come in this

[29:47]world people who lack belief in the Mahdi who don't subscribe to

[29:56]the return of the Savior or who do not connect with him

[30:00]they don't have a relationship with him they don't believe in him

[30:04]they'll have a lot to struggle with why because they might believe

[30:13]in God and in His prophets and Messengers and believe that Islam

[30:16]is a perfect system it's a lifestyle it's a way for people

[30:19]to live their lives in in virtue and morality and all these

[30:24]things but then the first sign of trouble the first tragedy the

[30:30]first oppression the first Injustice and it'll shake them at their very

[30:35]core because they'll be like hang on a second why wouldn't God

[30:38]step in why wouldn't God intervene why wouldn't God the problem of

[30:42]evil which by the way there's a short series three episodes that

[30:48]I've done last year called debunking atheism look it up on YouTube

[30:52]one of them addresses the problem of evil which is one of

[30:55]the most common reasons why people abandon religion mostly Christians Christians Jews

[31:02]and other theists they abandon faith in God because of the problem

[31:09]of evil absolutely without the promise of Allah to Grant Victory to

[31:14]his vice gerunds on this Earth the problem of evil makes perfect

[31:20]sense that's why you need to understand this when the Israelites were

[31:27]being subjected to the brutality of throne when they realized that every

[31:34]newborn son was being slaughtered right after birth you know what they

[31:38]said they said why are we even having families or if they

[31:42]had families why do we have children let's stop having children these

[31:46]children are getting killed what's the point a man named Imran he

[31:53]came and said no I have faith in God why because at

[31:59]the very beginning of the story of bani Israel and the Holy

[32:07]Quran Allah gives them this promise he says in then Allah says

[32:17]we would like to confer favor upon those that have been persecuted

[32:21]in this world that we are going to make them the leaders

[32:27]The Heirs the successors in other words they will get to rule

[32:30]this world one day we are Allah has giving them this this

[32:34]very strong spiritual backing this moral support then he says the reason

[32:42]we do this isn't just to give you Victory to make you

[32:47]feel happy it's also because we want to show for we want

[32:53]to show the evil doers that we won that Allah wins that

[32:59]those who believe in Allah and put their trust in Allah who

[33:02]will win they will have the final say Imran came and said

[33:07]I believe in God's promise yeah I can see children being beheaded

[33:12]and slaughtered all around me but I will put my faith in

[33:18]Allah God gave him Mosa and Musa was saved and protected how

[33:23]you know the story in the most miraculous way I'll put my

[33:27]faith in Allah put your faith in God this has a practical

[33:34]implication by the way the people who say we don't want more

[33:36]kids because who's going to feed them put your trust in God

[33:41]who fed you who fed your kids who fed your ancestors your

[33:46]parents Who provided for them who allowed you to be here this

[33:50]gene pool to survive Allah did why why do the opposite of

[33:58]our what our religion instructs us to do rasulullah says as many

[34:07]children as you can have a plan for them educate them look

[34:12]after them we talked about this last night I don't want to

[34:14]rehash all of that we're not saying just conceive children and throw

[34:17]them out and have them devoured by the Wolves Out There have

[34:21]you two become their teacher and their educator and their Entertainer I'm

[34:25]not saying that but have as many children as you can and

[34:30]try and educate them and look after them and provide them with

[34:32]the spiritual nourishment that they need Imran said I'm going to put

[34:38]my trust in God says to Musa come along with me they

[35:05]out how could you do this innocent boy said to him this

[35:10]boy will become a tyrant he's got good parents God doesn't want

[35:16]for this boy to end up being a tyrant this is one

[35:21]of those times when Allah draws a line and says no no

[35:25]not you not this and so I killed him instead Allah subhanahu

[35:32]wa ta'ala will compensate his parents he will give them a girl

[35:37]according to a Hadith Allah will give them a daughter from the

[35:42]lineage of that daughter 70 prophets were born every time Allah takes

[35:50]something he gives something if you put your trust in him nothing

[35:56]will be lost nothing everything is accounted for this is other than

[36:03]the reward that paradise in this world Allah will look after you

[36:08]why did I mention this because even though ultimately God's Vice gerund

[36:18]will return and rule the world even though Victory shall be that

[36:25]of those who are righteous even though the Mahdi is coming and

[36:29]that in itself is the most beautiful glad Tiding you can give

[36:34]to anybody just the other day somebody sent me a message saying

[36:38]that I'm done I'm tired I hate my life I hate all

[36:42]the things that are happening around me I want to kill myself

[36:45]I said wouldn't you love to see rasulullah imagine like if the

[36:50]prophet was here and you could actually go visit him would you

[36:54]love to meet Amir al-momini she said yes I said well the

[37:02]one who epitomizes all of these is coming isn't that great news

[37:06]the one who will come and say he's coming he's coming don't

[37:27]rush into doing things that you will regret without a shred of

[37:33]doubt he's coming isn't that the most beautiful thing you could be

[37:36]told about the future of humanity that it's actually bright and beautiful

[37:41]so other than the fact that the ultimate Victory on this Earth

[37:47]will be that of Allah even in the midst of this prior

[37:54]to that happening there are adjustments being made we're not left to

[38:00]ourselves Allah as well as other prophets as well as other Messengers

[38:07]as well as agents of Allah are making adjustments if you put

[38:13]your trust in the you have not much to worry about he

[38:20]came to this boat again along with Musa they boarded the ship

[38:27]or the boat and he started to damage a part of the

[38:30]boat so Musa said to him but why would you do that

[38:34]these are good people these are fishermen they're poor all they have

[38:40]is their boat why would you damage the boat said again you're

[38:46]jumping to conclusions there is a king who is stealing and confiscating

[38:51]all of these boats I'm damaging it slightly here so that he

[38:55]doesn't steal it from them the King has no clue that King

[39:00]the way our lives are adjusted if we put our trust in

[39:05]the way things are manipulated in our favor is something you might

[39:12]not notice your enemies won't notice no one around you will notice

[39:16]but things will work out in your best interest I'm protecting the

[39:22]boat protecting the parents as well as the community from this boy

[39:25]who's going to be a tyrant put your trust in the khabar

[39:31]put your trust in the Mahdi brothers and sisters there is a

[39:35]reason why Imam Zaman says and I'll conclude with this he says

[39:45]he says you should always pray for relief for faraj for the

[39:52]return of the Savior to happen because in doing that Allah will

[39:57]bring you relief he's not saying that when you pray the Imam

[40:01]will come and victory will be granted and then you will find

[40:06]your relief he's saying that the mere Dua for the Imam brings

[40:09]you relief in other words next time you're in the hospital and

[40:13]you have someone who's sick someone who needs prayer instead of praying

[40:19]for them which of course you can do pray for the following

[40:22]next time you have a problem with someone pray for the farage

[40:29]of Imam whenever you experience any hardship whenever your family your friends

[40:33]overseas others go through difficulty and pain pray for who the farage

[40:41]of Imam foreign put your trust in him and you have nothing

[40:46]to worry about tonight brothers and sisters is perhaps one of the

[40:56]most difficult in the entire ten nights of Muharram because of the

[41:01]subject the hero the individual that we commemorate and honor let me

[41:09]just give you a few indications a few glimpses into who was

[41:20]the arat which is one of the most authentic and critical collections

[41:28]of Hadith about Imam al-hussein authored by the student of sheikhil kulaini

[41:36]islami and the teacher of people are usually identified and evaluated by

[41:44]their teachers or by their students in this case the author of

[41:49]this book has both of those credentials to offer his teacher was

[41:54]student was and he is buried right next to the Shrine of

[44:32]as burning as they are right every new tragedy takes away at

[56:19]having cried over the tragedy of the one that made Imam al-hussein

[56:27]cry out loud let us ask Allah foreign [Music] foreign [Music] foreign
