A Secret on the Day of Arafah

“O God, all praise is to You that You have created me and made me able to hear and see.” [Arafah Supplication] It is said that the highest sin, which is not forgiven on the Day of Arafah, is for you to have doubts on the evening of Arafah as to whether God has forgiven you or not.
God is gracious. He wouldn’t invite us to go toward Him but not answer us. God accepts our repentance quickly. I want to tell you a secret. This is the secret I want to tell you. If He has forgiven us, and He certainly has, why doesn’t the world’s situation change? Do you know what the answer is?
The answer is that we have come toward God, and He has forgiven us due to His grace. But we didn’t have the high wish, “O God, hurry the reappearance of our Imam (aj) by the right of Aba Abdillah al-Husayn (as). We can’t tolerate this anymore. Let us be one of his soldiers. I don’t want to leave his tent. I don’t want to not be useful for him.” We haven’t prayed for such things.
Fine, when you go home after this meeting (on the Day of Arafah), go live your life. The occultation of the Imam of the Time (aj) will finish one day. He is being patient anyway. [Said regretfully.] Hasn’t someone who is alone and in occultation asked you to pray for his reappearance? Isn’t the Imam important for you?
The Imam is gracious. If I want to speak a little strongly, I am sure and I swear that the Imam of the Time (aj) will become upset with me. [He’ll say,] “Why are you setting my friend’s hearts on fire? They’ll become upset.” I don’t want to blame you. You are all deserving people. But why doesn’t your Imam return? Maybe our Imam still isn’t sure about us! I am sorry for asking this question, but is it because there aren’t enough good people? Is it because we’re not as good as we should be? I’ve only whispered this in your ear.
