[0:00]shaytan al rajim bismillah ar-rahman ar-rahim i begin in the name of
[0:06]the almighty god the compassionate the merciful the one who has created
[0:10]everything in utmost perfection and may the peace and blessings of the
[0:19]Almighty God be upon his pure and beloved messenger the symbol of
[0:25]humanity the holy prophet muhammad sallallahu aleyhi wa allahu allah ma salli
[0:33]ala muhammad wa ala muhammad and his immaculate progeny of the and
[0:37]in beit peace be upon them on this blessed evening my dear
[0:43]brothers and sisters i would like to congratulate you for two special
[0:48]occasions that we have one is celebrating the birth of our master
[0:53]al imam and hassan salameh Lahani and the second reason why I
[1:00]congratulate use because tonight we have a wonderful ceremony as a number
[1:04]of our beloved youth are going to celebrate their tech leave when
[1:10]they become religiously mature and this is indeed something to celebrate I
[1:16]would like to say a few points my dear brothers and sisters
[1:23]about the concept of tech leaf of being religiously mature and having
[1:29]this religious obligation and responsibility to follow the laws of allah subhanahu
[1:37]wata'ala some people when they think of tech leaf which literally means
[1:42]an obligation a burden or an obligation some people take it negatively
[1:47]I am now obligated I have a long list of things to
[1:54]do a long list of things to avoid some people might view
[1:57]it negatively it's a burden that I have to deal with all
[2:05]my life but if we only understand the essence of tech leaf
[2:09]and what it represents it would be something that we would act
[2:13]look forward to tech Leif is not a burden my dear brothers
[2:19]and sisters it's a privilege that Allah is giving you it's a
[2:24]privilege to come to worship Him worshiping allah subhana wa ta'ala is
[2:29]the greatest honor following the laws of the almighty god is the
[2:37]greatest privilege God is giving you in fact Allah Spano to Allah
[2:40]is telling you at the age of maturity when you become mu
[2:42]caliph Allah is basically telling you now I have so much respect
[2:49]for you welcome and join the club the club of worshipping Allah
[2:53]Subhanahu WA Ta'ala and God is finding you worthy don't see it
[2:59]as an obligation see it as a means to achieve success a
[3:04]means to connect yourself with the infinite source allah subhanahu wata'ala and
[3:11]because allah subhanallah de loves us so much he does not want
[3:15]us to miss out on all these wonderful opportunities to worship Him
[3:20]and practice our religion this is something my dear brothers and sisters
[3:23]that we should look forward to not something that we should see
[3:28]as a burden indeed as a it's a great honor that allah
[3:31]has given us now one point that's worth mentioning here often times
[3:39]when we talk about to cleave a lot of people ask this
[3:41]question why is it that according to the majority of scholars and
[3:45]their understanding of hadith texts why is it that girls become mature
[3:50]religiously before boys so most Minaj they're fat why's that a girl
[3:58]once she reaches the age of nine religiously she becomes mature and
[4:01]she is to observe all the laws of Islam from fasting from
[4:05]prayer from her job and all the other obligations whereas when it
[4:11]comes to boys that's usually just a few years later around the
[4:15]age of 12 13 or 14 sometimes even 15 as this discrimination
[4:20]is it's not imposing a burden on girls more than boys why
[4:26]is it that they be religiously obligated before boys many people ask
[4:31]this question I would like I would like to share two thoughts
[4:36]here number one and I say this to my dear sisters when
[4:39]Allah subhana WA Ta'ala is obligating you at age nine in essence
[4:44]he's giving you an honor and a privilege and he is saying
[4:49]that now you are worthy to have this privilege in fact this
[4:55]is something to look forward to because all these acts of everybody
[4:57]do you know how much blessings they have in your lives and
[4:59]do you know the reward for them if you only knew the
[5:03]reward of some of these acts of worship you would be delighted
[5:07]when you would be obligated and when you would perfer them let
[5:13]me give you a quick example when you pray my dear brothers
[5:16]and sisters your salah the five daily prayers do you know how
[5:19]much reward you get from allah the hadith states for every letter
[5:27]that you speak and utter in your recitation allah subhanaw taala gives
[5:33]you two hundred husana two hundred good deeds and he forgives you
[5:39]two hundreds a year at 200 bad deeds bismillah ar-rahman ar-rahim we
[5:45]start our recitation by saying this blessed statement how many letters is
[5:51]bismillah ar-rahman ar-rahim does anyone know how many letters in Arabic is
[5:56]bismillah ar-rahman ar-rahim almost there 19 it's 19 letters for each letter
[6:05]allah subhanho to Allah gives you two hundred good deeds and he
[6:10]forgives two hundred sins someone helped us out with the math here
[6:14]you have 19 letters for each letter two hundred husana how many
[6:17]deeds do you get for saying bismillah r-rahman r-rahim in your salah
[6:25]3,800 3,800 husana for saying bismillah r-rahman r-rahim and we wonder where's
[6:29]the mercy of Allah subhanAllah look at the generosity of Allah and
[6:33]3,800 sins he forgives just for saying bismillah al-rahman al-rahim imagine if
[6:38]you read the whole chapter how much you get and imagine if
[6:42]you pray in a messager that's multiplied by 25 times and if
[6:47]you pray in Gemara and there are 10 people that's multiplied by
[6:51]78,000 almost and if it's more than 10 only Allah knows the
[6:58]reward no one can capture the reward this is non of Allah
[7:01]subhana wa ta'ala don't see it as a burden analyze giving the
[7:06]girls that opportunity at a younger age this is something to look
[7:10]forward to that's the first thought here the second thought here there
[7:14]is scientific basis behind this my dear brothers and sisters why possibly
[7:18]Allah subhana WA Ta'ala had girls become religiously mature before boys and
[7:24]their tech leaf comes before there is scientific evidence for this if
[7:27]you go and research the development of the brain amongst boys and
[7:36]girls scientists and researchers such as a team of researchers at Newcastle
[7:40]University in England they wanted to see the differences in the development
[7:49]of the brain between boys and girls this was done by a
[7:52]team of researchers at Newcastle University you can look it up it's
[7:55]a very interesting study they found that usually on average girls went
[8:02]through a faster process in the development of their brain in their
[8:07]early childhood and adolescence basically the time of tech leave at around
[8:12]the age 9 10 11 Subhan Allah Allah Japan Owatonna the way
[8:20]he's even structured the brain their brain makes neural connections in a
[8:26]more complete manner than boys do for boys it's a few years
[8:29]later on average and therefore you see that their development in areas
[8:40]of cognition in areas of emotional intelligence comes faster amongst girls than
[8:45]boys there's scientific evidence for this so if someone comes in objects
[8:49]and says this is discrimination this is unfair tell them well Allah
[8:54]subhana WA Ta'ala has curry in US and he knows what's good
[8:58]for us and when we are ready and when we are not
[9:00]ready so number one it's a privilege thank allah subhanallah de it's
[9:05]an honor that he's giving you number two there is scientific evidence
[9:09]for this having said that my dear brothers and sisters I have
[9:13]a few words of advice for my beloved youth as we are
[9:20]going to celebrate their tech leave tonight and we will learn from
[9:24]the legacy of an imam al hassan ali salam because we're also
[9:30]commemorating his birth to today to see how we can truly do
[9:32]justice to this obligation and this opportunity that allah spano to allah
[9:37]has given us my dear youth as you start your journey of
[9:45]being religiously obligated of being llamo caliph make allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[9:50]your best friend allah subhana wa ta'ala is your greatest support in
[9:58]life and worshiping allah is the greatest honor you have we are
[10:03]limited we are finite when we worship the Almighty God we connect
[10:07]ourselves to the source of all infinity without Allah soprano to Anna
[10:12]were nothing were just some created beings nothing more than that with
[10:20]all limitations how can you connect yourself to an infinite source that's
[10:26]by being with allah subhanaw taala being with your lord and we
[10:30]see imam al hasan on his Salam from an early age he
[10:34]had a special relationship with allah subhana wa ta'ala whenever he would
[10:38]get up to do the will who at the time of Adan
[10:43]people would observe that he's in a different state it's as if
[10:46]he doesn't know anyone it's as if he's not in this world
[10:48]anymore he's in a different world he would tell him o Hassan
[10:54]what's the matter what happened he told them do you know before
[10:58]whom I am standing today I'm standing before my Creator I am
[11:05]standing before allah subhana wa ta'ala and out of billions of creations
[11:07]he's given me the opportunity to speak to him and he's listening
[11:13]to me the Imam and his Salaam would value this friendship between
[11:16]him and the Almighty God and so as you become Micallef we
[11:21]must have a special relationship with our salat my dear brothers and
[11:29]sisters our prayers represent a daily appointment with Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala
[11:33]Allah is giving you this opportunity it is an appointment you know
[11:38]one of my friends once he narrated an interesting story that happened
[11:44]an interesting experience he says I had a friend one day he
[11:48]had a job interview but it was a phone interview at 2:00
[11:52]p.m.
[11:52]he was supposed to get a call for a very important job
[11:58]position he had been working for that for years to land that
[12:02]job opportunity he said at around 12 p.m.
[12:07]I saw my friend coming down dressed in a sue and he
[12:13]has applied some Cologne to himself and he's sitting on the sofa
[12:16]next to the phone he's waiting for that phone call he's like
[12:21]I told him hey baby what's the matter with you first of
[12:26]all the appointment is at 2:00 it's not at 12:00 what are
[12:28]you doing here sitting next to your phone waiting for that phone
[12:30]call it's two hours from now he's like yes I know but
[12:36]I'm so excited I'm so anxious for this phone call I want
[12:39]to wait by the minute it's like okay I understand that why
[12:44]are you wearing a suit they're not gonna see what you're wearing
[12:46]he's like I know I'm not an idiot I know they're not
[12:50]gonna see me in my suit but I want to be in
[12:54]a professional mood so when they interview me I'm in the mood
[12:57]I'm in the proper atmosphere what we wear Subhan Allah has a
[13:03]big impact on our behavior on our speech on how we carry
[13:06]yourself this has been psychologically proven because it's a professional interview he
[13:12]wanted to wear a suit in order to put his mindset in
[13:18]a professional mode now initially you might think this guy's silly but
[13:21]believe me he makes a lot of sense he's like okay I
[13:24]understand that what about the perfume or the Cologne you think they're
[13:27]gonna smell it on the other side of the phone he's like
[13:31]yeah still I put it because I want to be in that
[13:33]professional mode I want to act professional set professionally and he waited
[13:37]for two hours till the phone call my dear brothers and sisters
[13:43]Allah is giving us five appointments every day how do we treat
[13:48]that appointment the last thing that's not our mind is our prayer
[13:51]with allah subhanahu wa tada that's why in Islam it's highly recommended
[13:55]to plan for your prayer times make sure the times of prayer
[14:02]have a special place in your day and in your schedule wear
[14:06]your best clothes professional clothes that's one reason why sisters were a
[14:12]job while they're praying even though they're in their private room because
[14:16]it's a professional appointment with God and we show respect to that
[14:20]appointment we observe our formal attire and that's why it's highly must
[14:25]have been recommended to put perfume or cologne while you pray one
[14:28]hadith says when you put perfume or cologne and you apply it
[14:34]to yourself the reward of your Surat gets multiplied by seventy times
[14:37]why there's a reason for that there's a psychological reason just like
[14:41]this guy who put the Cologne for his interview because it puts
[14:45]you in the mood and allows you to take it seriously and
[14:48]scientifically burning incense has been proven to help you concentrate in your
[14:55]Salah all these beautiful tips that the hadith give us are aimed
[15:01]at helping us focus on our prayer on our Creator Allah Subhanahu
[15:04]WA Ta'ala and imam hassan in which the man whenever he would
[15:07]enter the message it he would stand knowing that this is the
[15:12]house of allah it has sanctity he would stand at the door
[15:14]and he would say allah he leave for caribou Babak oh allah
[15:18]I'm your guest I'm standing at your door yeah Marcin attack al
[15:24]maseeh all good one the bad one has come to you look
[15:28]at the humbleness of al imam al hassan Fattah Jawas anta bahama
[15:33]and abuja me lima and dick oh Allah because you're so pure
[15:40]then forgive what I have because you're beautiful you're pure and you
[15:45]are generous to forgive my sins this is the beautiful relationship and
[15:49]imam al hassan hani salaam had with allah subhana wa ta'ala and
[15:54]as you embark this journey of Teck leave my beloved youth remember
[15:58]that your salah is your greatest gift between you and allah look
[16:02]forward to it it's that time where you put all distractions and
[16:08]you focus on your Creator who will help you in this life
[16:11]and on the day of judgement that's the first point I would
[16:15]like you to take into consideration as you think of tech leave
[16:19]your relationship with Allah and the next one might beloved youth what
[16:23]Allah Arabic and Tabu do in Latia religion starts with worshiping Allah
[16:29]the one God then what does this verse say what's the second
[16:35]most important obligation we have in our life amongst many other obligations
[16:40]wobble I lead a near sauna as you embark this journey of
[16:45]Teck leave my beloved youth remember that after allah subhana wa ta'ala
[16:50]your greatest priority and obligation is your parents become closer to your
[16:56]parents I know these days many of our youth they struggle connecting
[17:01]with their parents parents dealing with them a lot of them feel
[17:07]frustrated I meet many of them on a regular basis and sometimes
[17:09]they get frustrated they yell back some of them even abuse their
[17:13]parents yes these days teenagers believe me it's coming it's becoming very
[17:19]common they physically abuse their parents especially the mother my word of
[17:27]advice to these beloved youth is the following sometimes we do get
[17:30]frustrated I agree with you especially as parents grow older sometimes we
[17:35]think they're illogical they don't understand us they live on Mars they
[17:39]don't think the way we do we do have these thoughts sometimes
[17:41]but I want you to remember all those years when you were
[17:47]young and you put your parents and hardship and you frustrated them
[17:51]once I saw a clip it was really a touching clip moving
[17:56]clip maybe some of you have seen it an old man is
[18:01]sitting in his backyard with his son looks around maybe 25 30
[18:04]years old his son is reading the paper his father sees a
[18:11]bird flying in the backyard coming from the tree now his father
[18:16]is growing too old he has amnesia he's forgetting frequently he asks
[18:22]a son my dear son what's the name of this bird he
[18:24]tells him it's a sparrow he says okay thank you five minutes
[18:30]later he sees the same bird again he tells him son what's
[18:36]the name of this bird this time his son gets a little
[18:38]bit frustrated he puts the paper down he said dad it's a
[18:44]sparrow five minutes later the father asks for the third time tells
[18:49]him my son what's the name of this bird this time his
[18:56]son gets angry he slams the paper on his lap he tells
[18:59]him dad for God's sake three times I tell you it's a
[19:04]sparrow it's a sparrow he insults his father his father gets upset
[19:07]he gets up he goes inside the house he goes to his
[19:13]room he pulls out a diary he opens it to a page
[19:16]he gives it to his son he says my son read this
[19:18]his son opens the diary he sees on so and so date
[19:24]his father has put an entry into his diary the father's saying
[19:30]today my son the same son who just insulted his father turned
[19:34]three years old and he's learning how to speak full sentences he's
[19:38]become so inquisitive and he's asking about everything I took him to
[19:42]the backyard of our house he saw a bird he asked me
[19:46]dad what's the name of this bird I told him it's a
[19:52]sparrow three minutes later my son saw the same bird or another
[19:55]bird that looked like it he asked me dad dad what's the
[20:01]name of this bird I told him Sparrow that day in the
[20:05]backyard my son asked me 20 times what's the name of this
[20:09]bird and every time with a smile with love with compassion I
[20:15]said to my son it's a spirit now that the Sun is
[20:18]older and he's become an adult and his father has become weak
[20:25]and feeble he couldn't handle his father asking him three times we
[20:29]forget those days my dear brothers and sisters we forget those days
[20:33]for the youth there is nothing more important than their sleep right
[20:38]when they need to sleep and rest nothing should disturb their sleep
[20:41]once I told a youth who was giving their mother a hard
[20:44]time I told that youth if somebody wakes you at 2:00 a.m.
[20:50]would you be cool about that he's like no I'll be disturbed
[20:55]I told them worky they wake you up once at 2:00 and
[20:57]then again at 2:30 and then again at 3:00 how frustrated will
[21:02]you be he's like of course I'll be very frustrated I told
[21:05]him you did that to your mom every single day for months
[21:10]and months and years now right now you yell at her and
[21:14]you physically sometimes assault her he felt ashamed of himself but we
[21:18]need to remember this my dear youth don't ever forget the favors
[21:23]that your parents have over you the compassion that they have for
[21:28]us the entire world can be can betray us the entire world
[21:31]our friends may abandon us when we need them but not your
[21:36]parents our parents are always there for us as you embark the
[21:39]journey of techne if realize that after God your parents come and
[21:43]Allah will only accept our deeds if we are good to our
[21:47]parents this doesn't mean that parents don't have a responsibility their responsibility
[21:53]is greater but in the end we as children who have parents
[21:57]Allah expects us to be good and gentle with them what fellow
[22:04]la imagen Ahad Valley menorah waka Rob Parham Hama camara be honest
[22:08]a lira lower to them the wing zuv humility yes humility sometimes
[22:12]you may even feel humiliated by your parents the Quran says it's
[22:16]okay show them the wings of humility that's how God wants to
[22:20]be worshipped through obedience to their parents through gentleness to the parents
[22:24]they have compassion for us even when we violate them who does
[22:31]that to you my dear brothers and sisters they say once there
[22:35]was a man whose mother became old and he no longer felt
[22:39]comfortable caring for her it was a burden he had his life
[22:45]his family his kids so he took her to a nursing home
[22:47]she was very upset after all these years you kick me out
[22:51]of your house and that's it I just go to a nursing
[22:54]home she was deeply troubled by this but what can she do
[22:56]initially he'd visit her every other day then it became once a
[23:01]week then it became every other week then it became once a
[23:05]month then it became once a year this mother who raised him
[23:08]you would visit her once a year one day came she called
[23:14]him she told him my dear son my doctor has told me
[23:15]that I only have a few days to live I'm very ill
[23:19]I would like to see you I would like to write my
[23:24]welcome so he goes he visits his mother she tells him I
[23:26]have some cash on the side here's my will this nursing home
[23:32]that you put me in is a terrible nursing home and this
[23:35]summer I really suffered from the heat it's hot what's too hot
[23:41]to warm they don't have proper AC system over here I have
[23:43]some money in the bank here's my will I want you to
[23:48]take that money and buy a good AC system and give it
[23:50]to this nursing home he's looking at her he's like mom but
[23:55]you just said you're gonna die in a few days so you're
[23:57]not gonna benefit from this what's the point she's like I know
[24:02]happy I know I know I'm going to die in a few
[24:06]days but what I have in mind is you twenty years from
[24:08]now your kids are gonna put you in this nursing home and
[24:12]I want this nursing home to be pleasant for you look at
[24:15]the heart of a mother he abandoned her he violated her she's
[24:20]thinking of his future and his comfort and that really sums up
[24:23]the feelings of our parents towards us and so as we start
[24:29]on this journey of Teck leave my beloved youth my beloved friends
[24:31]remember we learned from an imam al hassan ali salaam to have
[24:36]that solid relationship with allah subhanho wa taala and secondly to have
[24:42]that solid relationship with our parents if we do that you have
[24:46]the key to success in this world and on the day of
[24:50]judgment may allah subhanaw taala bless you my dear brothers and sisters
[24:54]tonight will be my last night amongst you I had a truly
[24:57]wonderful time with you the past two weeks I am grateful to
[25:03]Allah for this opportunity I will keep you in mind as I
[25:05]ask you for your doors as well especially the nights of bed
[25:11]the nights of power are coming and please do forgive me for
[25:15]any shortcomings may Allah spano to Allah bless you now we'll start
[25:18]and shall attack leap celebration with a very very loud Salawat long
