[0:09][Music] I begin in the name of the almighty God the compassionate
[0:25]the merciful the one who has created everything in utmost perfection and
[0:31]May the peace and blessings of the almighty God be upon his
[0:34]pure and beloved messenger the peak of his creation the symbol of
[0:41]humanity the holy prophet Muhammed s and his Immaculate progeny of the
[0:54]peace be upon them especially the leader of our time the awaited
[1:01]savior may Allah hasten his reappearance and make us all amongst his
[1:10]sincere and dedicated servants respected brothers and sisters we in the school
[1:22]of have the utmost respect for those righteous companions who stood stood
[1:31]with Prophet Muhammad s and his family of the we believe that
[1:41]they are amongst the best people who walked on this Earth we
[1:46]have the utmost respect for their legacy and we are inspired by
[1:55]their values we are inspired by their teachings 14 centuries later hence
[2:00]yesterday we dedicated that full lecture to examine the biography of Abu
[2:09]the great companion of who inspires us to always uphold the truth
[2:15]especially today in our era today it's very difficult to uphold the
[2:23]truth you have to pay a heavy price there are lobbies out
[2:26]there against the truth they're hiding the truth censoring the truth the
[2:31]legacy of the likes of Abu truly resonates with us because in
[2:40]every era you have to pay a price to uphold the truth
[2:42]so we in the school of ah B have the utmost respect
[2:48]for those righteous companions who stood with the prophet sallallahu alaihi Al
[2:52]who obeyed the prophet sallallahu alaihi Al and after the prophet sallallahu
[2:57]alaih Al they did not fall back on their heels they were
[3:00]were steadfast on the path of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala however there
[3:06]is a dilemma here Muslims from other schools of thought they criticize
[3:12]us and they tell us that you in the school of ah
[3:17]B you are critical of a number of the prophet's Companions of
[3:20]many of the prophet's companions especially some of those early muhajirin who
[3:27]migrated with the prophet sallallahu alai Al and who ruled after the
[3:31]prophet sallallahu alai Al you do not follow them we don't see
[3:37]you respecting them you are not inspired by their legacy and this
[3:42]stance of yours this belief contradicts the Holy Quran because when it
[3:48]comes to the early muhajirin the early migrants and the early ansar
[3:53]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in the Holy Quran declared that he was
[3:59]pleased with them Allah subhana wa tala informed us in the Holy
[4:03]Quran that they went to heaven he prepared heaven for them so
[4:08]on what basis do you in the school of B not follow
[4:15]them on what basis do you criticize them when Allah subhah wa
[4:19]ta'ala has praised them in the Holy Quran so your stance of
[4:26]being critical of those early M and ANS is not compatible with
[4:30]the Holy Quran specifically verse 100 ofah this is a very important
[4:39]verse chapter 9 verse 100 what does Allah subhana wa tala state
[4:43]in the Holy Quran in chapter 9 verse 100 is the one
[4:55]who races who's there first who rushes to be the leader they're
[5:01]not just the but they're the the foremost the very very first
[5:07]of those who raised that is the literal translation of okay who
[5:16]are these amongst the migrants who migrated early on and the an
[5:25]the helpers the people of Medina who supported the prophet Sall Al
[5:31]and then those who came after them and they followed their good
[5:36]path in goodness in righteousness what does the Holy Quran comment about
[5:41]these M and who are from the and the Allah subhah wa
[5:52]taala has been pleased with them and they are pleased with Allah
[5:56]subhanahu wa taala not only is Allah pleased with them but he's
[6:04]going to reward them with Heaven Allah has prepared heaven for them
[6:09]beneath which rivers will flow that is the grand Victory so today
[6:21]many Muslims are asking us you sh in the school of your
[6:26]belief about the Companions and those who ruled after of the Prophet
[6:30]sallallahu alai is not compatible with chapter 9 verse 100 Allah subhana
[6:38]wa tala has declared that he's pleased he's been pleased with them
[6:40]Allah subhah wa ta'ala has announced that they're in heaven yet you
[6:44]don't follow them you're critical of them you don't respect them that's
[6:47]the least that we can say and this is not something that
[6:52]you can deny and we don't deny that yes some of those
[6:53]companions we are critical of them and we do not follow them
[6:57]we believe that they disobeyed the prophet sallallahu alai and we believe
[7:02]that they violated the rights of his family of the so it
[7:06]is very important for us to have an academic discussion on chapter
[7:13]9 verse 100 how do we in the school of understand this
[7:17]verse how do we critically analyze this verse before we examine the
[7:24]analysis on this verse it's very important for us to inform everyone
[7:28]all Muslims out there that we Muslims in the school of ah
[7:32]B our understanding of the companions is the quranic designation of the
[7:38]companions the way we categorize companions is perfectly in line and compatible
[7:46]with the categorization of the Holy Quran when you look at the
[7:53]Holy Quran the Quran divides the companion in two categories go to
[7:58]verse 162 of Surah Allah subhanahu wa taala reveals this verse in
[8:07]connection with the Battle of Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala addresses the companions listen
[8:15]to the words of Allah subhah wa ta'ala Allah Allah Allah subhana
[8:20]wa taala States now who's Allah talking about who's he describing the
[8:29]companions when you failed you quarreled you argued you disputed and you
[8:41]dis and you disobeyed Allah here is saying the this the companions
[8:48]disobeyed then Allah subhana T divides the companions into two camps the
[8:55]first Camp some of you compan ions you pursue this world your
[9:04]goal is this D that's the first Camp the second camp and
[9:11]some of you want the your goal is the you work for
[9:17]the so here Allah subhana wa ta'ala makes it very clear that
[9:20]you have two types of companions those who pursue the they're the
[9:25]righteous ones those who pursue the D this world they're the Hypocrites
[9:31]now you can come back and tell me say well there are
[9:36]some companions maybe they want both they want and the is that
[9:42]not possible well let's see what verse 20 ofah States let's see
[9:46]what Allah says in the Holy Quran Allah subhana T States inah
[9:51]verse 20 if you want the and the Harvest of the and
[10:03]the Deeds of the Allah will increase that for you he'll give
[10:09]you more than what you want and if you want the Harvest
[10:17]of this world you work for this world your goal is this
[10:19]world Allah will give you this world but then what does Allah
[10:24]comment at the end of the verse Allah says if you want
[10:34]the Harvest of this world Allah will give it to you but
[10:36]on the day of judgment you'll have no share this verse is
[10:43]very clear that the dun and the are mutually exclusive you cannot
[10:48]have both if your intention is dun and you work for dun
[10:54]you're a hypocrite you're not a Believer according to the Holy Quran
[10:59]because you have no in you have no chance in the no
[11:01]reward in the no luck in the no share in the so
[11:06]when Allah tells us in verse 162 some of you want this
[11:14]that means those companions who want the d they have no share
[11:19]in the this is the categorization of the Holy Quran they are
[11:24]mutually exclusive and this is our position in the school of we
[11:27]say the companions are of two types those who worked for D
[11:32]we do not follow them we do not take our teachings from
[11:35]them and there are those who worked for the they were righteous
[11:40]and they stood steadfast until the last day of their lives we
[11:44]have the utmost respect for them we are inspired by their legacy
[11:51]we cannot come close to the dust beneath their feet that's how
[11:55]much respect we have for them therefore very briefly if someone asks
[12:00]you what is the position of you the followers of ah bit
[12:05]with respect to the companions just tell them my position is the
[12:08]position of the Holy Quran and that is 3 162 chapter 3
[12:15]verse 162 now let's come to this verse but honestly this verse
[12:24]is a tough one chapter 9 verse 100 it's a difficult verse
[12:32]because if you read the verse without contemplating it you could get
[12:37]the impression that Allah subhana wa taala was pleased with all the
[12:40]early muhaj and the ANS Allah subhah wa ta'ala was pleased with
[12:46]them so how is this compatible with our stance when we criticize
[12:52]them those who ruled after the prophet sallahu alaihi Al we do
[12:55]not follow them in fact we believe that they disobeyed the prophet
[12:57]sallallahu alaihi Al so how is this compatible with chapter 9: 100
[13:04]let's have an academic discussion on this my dear brothers and sisters
[13:07]in order to prove this is a very critical point and this
[13:13]is the point of our discussion today in order to prove that
[13:18]this verse has declared all the early migrants and the ansar as
[13:26]good we have to demonstrate that the verse says all of them
[13:31]or indicates all of the m and the an who migrated early
[13:36]on or helped the prophet early on this depends on how we
[13:46]understand the word men in this verse because Allah States the from
[13:54]the m and the what does this men mean this Min in
[14:02]the Arabic language which means from if you want to translate it
[14:05]what does it mean here what is Allah saying is he saying
[14:12]that those who are the and the I've been pleased with them
[14:16]that's one understanding which is's understanding or Allah subhana is saying the
[14:23]from the muhajirin and the ansar meaning some of the muhajirin and
[14:29]the ansar which is the position of the school of B which
[14:32]means the verse is not telling you all of them Allah was
[14:34]pleased with them some of them now we have to figure out
[14:38]who that Su is we have to go and research history but
[14:43]the point it doesn't include all the m and the an who
[14:47]were the amongst the and the so let's analyze this word men
[14:54]in the Arabic language there are two common meanings for the word
[14:57]men the first is is called we call this the explanatory men
[15:06]which basically establishes the subject for you let me give you a
[15:14]very very simple example for those who speak Arabic if you are
[15:20]wearing a ring like this ring here and someone tells you what
[15:24]is this ring made of I want to know the ring itself
[15:29]not the Zone but the ring what is it made of so
[15:33]you would say in Arabic this is a silver silver ring now
[15:42]notice in Arabic I said Min this is a ring from Silver
[15:50]here from Silver what does from Silver mean does it mean some
[15:54]of it is silver or does it mean all of it is
[15:56]silver all of it is silver this is min because this men
[16:04]here proposition preposition from it's actually giving you the subject it's telling
[16:09]you this ring is silver it's not telling you some of it
[16:12]is silver no it is silver and we have verses in the
[16:18]Holy Quran in which Allah subhana wa tala has mused this men
[16:24]Allah subhana T refers to the people of Heaven that they will
[16:29]be given golden bracelets the Quran describes the bracelets as being Golden
[16:36]by saying bracelets from gold bracelets from gold means what means all
[16:40]of it is gold the bracelet is from gold this [Music] is
[16:46]now in this verse if we say this this preposition here isay
[16:56]then yes it could give you the meaning that all of them
[17:01]Allah was pleased with them Allah is talking about all the m
[17:05]and the ansar who joined the prophet early on it's as if
[17:11]Allah is saying from the m and the ANS meaning they are
[17:15]the MERS they are the ansar so if you take the preposition
[17:21]men as Bay as the explanatory preposition men this would support the
[17:28]view of but this is one meaning of men in the Arabic
[17:30]language let's get to the second meaning the second meaning of the
[17:38]word men in the Arabic language is we call it the partial
[17:42]men it means some and Allah subhah wa ta'ala uses this Min
[17:51]frequently in the Quran for [Music] example Allah is describing the good
[18:03]ones the pious ones he says they donate from which we give
[18:06]them this men here does it mean they donate all of their
[18:12]money or some of their money some of their money in another
[18:15]verse Allah subhana States and from the people there are some who
[18:23]say we have believed here is this the men that's explanatory or
[18:31]it's the partial that means some people say that or when Allah
[18:38]refers to the prophets some of them they spoke to Allah like
[18:43]Prophet M or Allah subh spoke to them Allah spoke to some
[18:51]of the prophets so we have this second type of men now
[18:53]if we say that verse 100 ofba is the partial men then
[19:03]that means Allah is praising some of the m and the and
[19:06]not all of them those early ones the leaders from the and
[19:13]the meaning some of them and this now proves the position of
[19:18]the school of that not all of them Allah subhana T was
[19:22]pleased with them some of them Allah subhana tala was pleased with
[19:28]them now how do we know which men Allah is using here
[19:30]that's the tough question and this is where we need the academic
[19:37]debate by the way as a side note Scholars of linguistics they
[19:39]have said if in a sentence there is a Min and you
[19:45]don't know if it's the bayani men or the partial men what
[19:48]is the default the default is that it's a partial this is
[19:53]just a linguistic note I wanted to share with you but now
[19:57]let's have this academic discussion we have several pieces of evidence that
[20:03]demonstrate this men here is it's a partial men it means some
[20:10]of the m and the an Allah is praising them and that
[20:12]Allah prepared heaven for them let's examine the evidence the first evidence
[20:18]is from the Holy Quran itself if you claim that this is
[20:26]B and it's telling you all the m and the an Allah
[20:29]was pleased with them then there is a contradiction in the Quran
[20:34]because Allah subhana wa tala inah verses 15- 16 he clearly states
[20:40]that he became angry with some of those early M and an
[20:46]what does Allah subhana wa tala State inah verse 15 and 16
[20:52]listen to the words of Allah Allah is speaking now to the
[20:58]community of Believers meaning the Muslims the companions if you meet the
[21:08]unbelievers in the battle don't turn your back don't flee from the
[21:13]battlefield one of the major sins in Islam was to flee from
[21:18]the battlefield the prophet's being attacked and you flee you don't defend
[21:22]your Prophet you don't defend your land you don't defend your religion
[21:26]this was a major sin so in verse 15 of Allah is
[21:30]stating oh you companions you m you Believers Believers here means Muslims
[21:36]if you meet the enemy don't give them your back then what
[21:42]does Allah state after that Allah makes an exception here he says
[21:54]if you avoid fighting them if you give them your back except
[22:00]in two circumstances except if you're using a war tactic for instance
[22:04]you're fleeing from the enemy so you go and strike from another
[22:09]you know position that's okay Allah does not consider you as someone
[22:13]who is fleeing okay so what happens if you flee the battlefield
[22:33]Allah subhana T states to the companions those of you who turn
[22:40]your back and you flee from the enemy you have achieved the
[22:44]dissatisfaction of Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala you have angered of Allah and your
[22:51]fate is Hell who's saying this Allah subhana wa tala so wait
[22:57]a minute I thought Allah told us in the beginning that all
[23:02]the m and the ANS he's pleased with them but then he's
[23:04]telling us after that Allah was angry at some of them for
[23:09]fleeing the battlefield so what do you do with these two verses
[23:12]these two verses clearly are indicating that Allah subhana wa tala wasn't
[23:19]pleased with all the m and the ANS from the you know
[23:24]the not all of them because if Allah was pleased with all
[23:26]of them you have a contradiction in verses 15 and 16 how
[23:35]do you want me to accept that Allah says I'm pleased with
[23:39]this person but them I'm angry with this person is it a
[23:41]game that one day I'm pleased one day Allah's angry this in
[23:46]itself is a reminder that when Allah subhana wa ta'ala is talking
[23:50]about those righteous companions he's not addressing all of them he's addressing
[23:59]the right righteous ones and this proves that the word men in
[24:02]the verse is what it's the partial men because we know that
[24:09]some of the companions at they did flee from the battlefield and
[24:12]the Quran tells us they earned the wrath of God so they
[24:18]cannot be included in verse 100 ofah this is one verse that
[24:23]we have in the Holy Quran that demonstrates this point another verse
[24:29]interesting inly when we talk about verse 100 inba we forget verse
[24:35]101 just go to the next verse that also helps you to
[24:39]understand that the men is not Allah subhana T States in verse
[24:48]101 you're surrounded by those bins and there are hypocrites among amongst
[24:57]them what does then Allah subhana tala State at after that and
[25:04]from the people of Medina there are those who continued the path
[25:10]path of hypocrisy they insisted on hypocrisy I have a question who
[25:15]are the people of Medina they are companions sahaba right are they
[25:23]from the ansar or there some aliens who lived in Medina from
[25:29]the ansar the people of Medina are the ANS so if Allah
[25:33]tells me in verse 100 that he pleased with the ansar and
[25:38]then he tells me from the people of Medina there are hypocrites
[25:41]that is a clear indication that in verse 100 Allah is not
[25:47]telling me all the ansar I'm pleased with them Allah is referring
[25:50]to the righteous ones and then there are ansar who were not
[25:52]righteous there were people from the city of Medina Medina that's their
[26:01]City the Allah says they're insisting on their hypocrisy they're stubborn with
[26:05]their hypocrisy they're steadfast on their hypocrisy so verse 101 in itself
[26:15]is a reminder that the men in verse 100 is it's the
[26:19]partial men and not the bay the explanatory men so these are
[26:25]two quick pieces of evidence from the Quran now let's come to
[26:29]his hisorical evidence this historical evidence is also important in allowing us
[26:34]to understand this Holy Verse my dear brothers and sisters and the
[26:41]historical evidence is the circumstances of J Who isah Jah IB J
[26:51]was amongst the early muhajirin he migrated from Mecca to habasha to
[26:59]abisinia with his wife umh now who's umh umab is the daughter
[27:08]of Abu sufyan soah J was the son of law of Abu
[27:10]sufyan initially he converted to Islam he was he was amongst the
[27:17]early Muslims then he migrated to habasha to abisinia so if we
[27:21]say verse 100 of includes all those early MERS it has to
[27:30]include whoah because there is no dispute amongst all Scholars of history
[27:37]that he was amongst the early muhaj the early migrants what happened
[27:41]to his fate I would like to read to you the words
[27:45]of the very famous Sunni scholar he says in his book he
[27:53]says the following phrase I would like to read it to you
[27:58]word for word he says this is unanimous consensus amongst the historians
[28:10]that was the wife of she gave birth from him she and
[28:25]her husband while both of them were Muslims they went to the
[28:30]land of habisha to [Music] Ethiopia then her husband became Christian he
[28:36]left the religion of Islam but she stayed on the path of
[28:42]Islam these are the words of he says there is consensus amongst
[28:53]the historians that this incident happened J defected from Islam also we
[29:03]haveb in his book he tells us there's a from from from
[29:09]that she said migrated with his wife to Aban she's the daughter
[29:21]of Abu sufyan they went to the land of habasha what happened
[29:30]there [Music] when he arrived the land of Hab he became Christian
[29:37]he left the religion of Islam more than 30 Sunni Scholars and
[29:42]historians have confirmed that the husband of umh defected and he left
[29:52]the religion of Islam even though he's amongst the early muhaj so
[29:57]my question is to Muslims out there who believe verse 100 of
[30:04]Surah Toba includes all the early muhaj what do you do in
[30:07]this case you made an exception right if you make an exception
[30:10]that means the men here is partial it means some of them
[30:15]not all of them because if you say that the men is
[30:19]Bay all of them then how do we have an exception here
[30:20]then we have a contradiction here in the Holy Quran Allah is
[30:23]saying all of them I'm pleased with them but one of them
[30:27]leaves the religion of Islam Allah is pleased if you leave the
[30:29]religion of Islam is that our teachings so this in itself my
[30:36]dear brothers and sisters is evidence that the verse is not talking
[30:40]about all of them and I'll just mention to you some of
[30:43]the names of those Scholars Sunni Scholars who have confirmed that he
[30:50]became Christian IB Hasam in his in his in his book in
[31:01]the famous book in his very famous book Al himself himself not
[31:15]in but in his because he has a book called The Short
[31:22]History I will read to you the very words of bukari listen
[31:29]to what bukari says he says he left with with his wife
[31:41]the daughter of Abu sufyan he says her husband became Christian when
[31:55]he died the prophet sallallahu alai later married umh and the reason
[32:00]why the prophet married umh was to honor the trial that she
[32:07]went through she migrated she went to the land of habasha and
[32:10]then over there she lost her husband he separated from her he
[32:16]became Christian so she was left without anyone to care for her
[32:19]and her father Abu sufyan at the time was the leader of
[32:24]the mushin so she couldn't go back there so the prophet sallallahu
[32:27]alaihi to honor what happened to umh and her Legacy and her
[32:32]trial he married her so we find these historians have all confirmed
[32:38]that he left the religion of Islam this all is an indication
[32:45]my dear brothers and sisters that this verse is not talking about
[32:52]all of them it's talking about the righteous ones and we in
[32:55]the school of we have the utmost respect respect for the great
[32:58]righteous companions yesterday as I said we dedicated our full night to
[33:08]examine the life of Abu alari this amazing companion of and I
[33:12]say this with honor my dear brothers and sisters for anyone who
[33:15]doubts whether we the followers of B respect the sahab we are
[33:22]not the dust beneath the foot of Abu that's how great he
[33:26]is in our eyes and we believe he's amongst the greatest people
[33:30]who walk the earth and many other great companions with him so
[33:33]this is the second piece of evidence that we have which is
[33:38]the historical evidence the first one is the quranic evidence the Quran
[33:42]in itself tells us there's two types of companions then the Quran
[33:48]tells us Allah was angry at some of the companions after even
[33:51]though they were among the early muhaj and the ansar that's the
[33:55]quranic evidence and then we have the historical evidence that some of
[33:59]these companions they did not stay on the path of Allah subhana
[34:03]wa tala either some of them left the religion of Islam likeah
[34:06]J or some of them disobeyed the prophet sallallahu alaihi or some
[34:11]of them betrayed the family of the Prophet sallallahu alai they fell
[34:15]back on their heels now the third piece of evidence now you
[34:22]may be asking okay do we have any T about this verse
[34:27]who they are yes if you look at the books of there
[34:32]are hadiths that indicate who the and the are for instance I
[34:36]will share with you the T of the Sunni scholar Abu Baki
[34:41]andri yes he's not one of the famous Sunni Scholars but he
[34:46]is amongst the Sunni Scholars and he has a book by the
[34:48]name ofi he narrates the following Hadith fromb Abbas the cousin of
[34:57]the Prophet sallallahu alai he [Music] says he says this verse was
[35:18]revealed about because he was the first before all people to embrace
[35:22]the path of IM so we do have hadiths that those early
[35:33]ones whom Allah is praising are the likes of in our books
[35:40]this was a Sunni book in our books you have he narrates
[35:47]in this who are they he says they are the an are
[35:57]the who are the the are those who pledged allegiance to the
[36:02]prophet sallai before the prophet migrated to Medina a group of the
[36:12]ansar from Medina 12 of them they came to the prophet sallahu
[36:15]alai and by the in they pledged allegiance to him that if
[36:21]you come we will support you for instance one of them was
[36:25]this great companion we have the utmost respect for him so our
[36:32]Hadith States those early are the who pledged allegiance to the prophet
[36:36]s Al and give us an example of the MERS whom Allah
[36:41]was pleased with he said these four companions the verse is mainly
[36:48]addressing them and their lives so my dear brothers and sisters we
[36:52]have a number of narrations that indicate who those early migrants were
[36:58]whom Allah subhana wa taala was pleased with them and Allah subhana
[37:03]wa taala commanded us to follow them and at the foremost is
[37:07]according to a Hadith narrated by a in his book he says
[37:15]once during the IM was sitting among the Companions and he told
[37:19]them I want Allah to be the witness here when this verse
[37:28]was revealed didn't the prophet Sall say to those around him that
[37:35]this verse is about his and that is they said to him
[37:42]yes we bear witness that we heard this from the prophet sallallah
[37:45]alai and therefore this is our position my dear brothers and sisters
[37:52]in the school of we have the utmost respect for the companions
[37:55]but we take our teachings and faith and Iman only from a
[37:58]trusted Source a source that I know authorized the prophet Sall pointed
[38:07]me to that source that is the lesson that we draw from
[38:11]these beautiful verses in the Holy Quran now let's take a quick
[38:20]lesson from or the other verse in one of the lessons we
[38:26]learned from these great sah these great comp ions who were the
[38:29]first to support the prophet sallallah alaihi Al is that when we
[38:32]come to the path of goodness the path of righteousness my dear
[38:38]brothers and sisters be the first to obey Allah subhana wa ta'ala
[38:42]you know it's unfortunate that when it comes to entertainment we're very
[38:46]quick when my cousin calls me let's go to the movies I'm
[38:49]the first one to say yes but when it comes to when
[38:53]it comes to Allah's obedience when it comes to seeking religious knowledge
[38:58]when it comes to the Holy Quran as the Quran describes some
[39:04]of you are very slow when Allah calls on you you're very
[39:08]slow you're extremely slow in responding to the path of Allah subh
[39:16]tala always take the initiative and be the first in all of
[39:20]your acts of be the best of the best be amongst the
[39:24]in your religion in your Dean in your community when there's a
[39:28]volunteering opportunity a charity opportunity be the first my dear brothers and
[39:34]sisters when Allah calls you for thean be the first to pray
[39:40]pray on time appreciate the prayer that you have when your mom
[39:43]and dad tells you Habibi get up it's time for pray appreciate
[39:45]that and you take the initiative to pray you know one sad
[39:51]reality is that on the day of judgment for us Muslims who
[39:55]are slow to worship Allah to our Salah on the day of
[40:02]judgment Allah will bring others who came from non-muslim backgrounds they will
[40:08]be the of God on us on the day of judgment there's
[40:11]a lady in the US she converted to Islam a few years
[40:16]ago she comes from a Conservative Christian family once she was seeking
[40:23]advice and she told me about her difficulties and trials one day
[40:27]her father father saw her praying in the house so he told
[40:32]her look I'm very upset that you became Muslim you've become a
[40:36]Muslim extremist but you're not allowed to pray in front of me
[40:39]if I see you praying one more time in front of me
[40:44]I will kick you outside the house a young girl maybe 17
[40:48]18 years old at the time you know what she did for
[40:52]an entire year she prayed in the bathroom she takes out her
[41:00]prayer rug in the bathroom she would pray out of fear of
[41:02]her family because she feared they will kick her out and then
[41:07]I have loving parents who tell me Baba Habibi get up and
[41:12]pray your mom begs you to pray and you yell at her
[41:13]you talk back to her be quiet Mom this is not the
[41:17]time that you are inconveniencing me I'm playing my game right now
[41:21]I'm watching this right now wall on the day of judgment when
[41:27]you see that lady and how she had to pray one entire
[41:29]year in the bathroom you'll be ashamed of raising your head when
[41:35]Allah gave you parents who motivated you to pray what excuse do
[41:40]you have what excuse do you have your work your business your
[41:43]school your activities your video games your WhatsApp your Facebook what excuse
[41:49]do you have there are people out there who are busier than
[41:53]you and yet they have to pray in circumstances like that and
[41:55]they don't give up their faith on the day of judgment Allah
[42:00]will use them an example I don't have an excuse on the
[42:02]day of judgment my dear brothers and sisters so let's always be
[42:08]the first to the path of righteousness let's learn from those companions
[42:12]the the from the m and the ANS when you hear the
[42:17]path of goodness be the first to say yes so that on
[42:19]the day of judgment Allah will be the first one to forgive
[42:23]you you'll be the first one to be forgiven inshallah this is
[42:25]the lesson that we hear from the this beautiful verse now especially
[42:30]when it comes to financial sacrifice brothers and sisters that's tough right
[42:35]when you want to support a charity donate to a cause give
[42:37]your zakat it's very hard some people it's very hard some people
[42:43]their money is dearer to them than their family in fact than
[42:46]their life the Persians have an example they say your money is
[42:51]more valuable than your soul it's difficult but do so for the
[42:54]sake of Allah there's an interesting Hadith in our sources it's narrated
[43:02]from IM in Sunni sources it's narrated from and others from Ab
[43:06]they have narrated that when a m wants to donate you decide
[43:10]I'm going to give my zakat I'm going to give charity I'm
[43:12]going to support this cause 70 surround you each one trying to
[43:23]stop you and Whisper to you with their Wasa so you stop
[43:26]donating that's why it's very difficult it's our trial you have 70
[43:33]shans but Allah has given you the power of Iman so when
[43:37]it comes to acts of goodness I have a hack for you
[43:39]when you know this pleases Allah don't go home and think about
[43:43]it the minute you say let me think about sponsoring this orphan
[43:48]let me think about donating the minute you give yourself time to
[43:52]think Habi now you're surrounded with 70 who are convincing you not
[43:58]to when you know this pleases Allah right away go be be
[44:04]be the first no need to go and think I know some
[44:07]people when they want to donate some money it takes them three
[44:12]months to think and I have to consult this person let me
[44:14]talk to my wife what she says let me talk to this
[44:17]person I go back and I struggle if you know this pleases
[44:22]Allah go ahead why do you need to consult anyone your money
[44:26]you give it you're doing yourself a favor you're buying your freedom
[44:30]on the day of judgment they say one day this man went
[44:33]to a fundraising dinner for a charity so he heard the speaker
[44:40]motivating the crowd to donate and he heard the speaker mentioned this
[44:44]Hadith that when you want to donate 70 surround you and they
[44:49]try to stop you so he was very motivated and when he
[44:51]left the Gathering he told the speaker molana I have the power
[44:57]to destroy my 7 tomorrow I'm going to give you a very
[44:59]nice check the next day comes the guy didn't show up what
[45:06]happened to him so the speaker called on him he told him
[45:11]Habibi didn't you say you're going to overcome your 70 shans so
[45:14]what happened you didn't bring the donation he told him M believe
[45:20]me every one of these 70 I wrecked them I destroyed them
[45:22]he's like then what happened where's the check he told him molana
[45:26]the problem is the mother of the in the house she told
[45:31]me we have to renovate the kitchen this year so no donation
[45:35]no alhamdulillah in our community no mothers of shtin we have mothers
[45:39]of angels here with us when it comes to the path of
[45:45]goodness don't consult and hesitate and think about the renovation and this
[45:49]and that and vacation give in the way of Allah subah waala
[45:52]be amongst the be among the amongst amongst the that's how we
[45:58]secure our inshallah we ask Allah subhana wa ta'ala to illuminate our
[46:05]hearts and Minds with the light of Iman it's at the time
[46:11]of M it's at the time when Allah answers our duas so
[46:13]everyone raise your hand in Dua pray for your brothers and sisters
[46:16]around the world especially for those suffering in Gazza my dear brothers
[46:23]and sisters Here We Gather we have our ifar in safety there
[46:26]are children women suffering every second now let's pray for them as
[46:42]well Ya Allah Allah Allah Allah Allah Allah Allah oh Allah haste
[46:58]in this reappearance of our Master Al IM Ali oh Allah all
[47:02]those who are ill and they've asked us for Dua grant them
[47:08]a speedy recovery oh Allah forgive us our sins in this blessed
[47:11]month of Ramadan oh Allah grant us the mam muhamed
