[0:25]as we are celebrating the birth of the prophet this week around
[0:30]the world i would like to congratulate you on this beautiful occasion
[0:36]we ask allah to open our hearts to the guidance of rasulallah
[0:40]and to grant us his maximum shafa'a and to grant us a
[0:45]ziara in allah we continue our journey into examining the personal qualities
[0:50]and of the prophet sallallahu alaihi last week we spoke about the
[0:57]wafa of the prophet the loyalty that would if you've done him
[1:01]a favor if you've been good to him he does not forget
[1:05]that unlike some people who quickly dismiss that past they're not loyal
[1:11]the prophet was in fact very loyal and if you remember we
[1:15]mentioned the story of shayima the daughter of halima when halema was
[1:20]taking care of the prophet sallallahu alaihi in her village away from
[1:24]mecca and she would nurse the prophet her daughter shema sometimes would
[1:32]take care of the prophet she would carry him she would you
[1:36]know spend some time with the prophet salallahu she would say beautiful
[1:39]lines of poetry about the prophet so in one of those battles
[1:44]when she was taken as a captive along with her village because
[1:49]they revolted and they wanted to attack medina so she was held
[1:53]as a captive so she told them how can you hold me
[1:57]as a captive when i am the sister in suckling in your
[2:06]prophet how could you do that so initially they did not believe
[2:10]her until she went she met the prophet and we mentioned the
[2:13]interesting story and how the prophet honored her and he said yes
[2:16]i do remember i do recognize that when i was young you
[2:22]know basically i was in your village and you were good to
[2:25]me and as a result the prophet ordered her to be free
[2:27]and he gave her so many gifts and she went back to
[2:31]her town so this is loyalty the prophet remembers those favors and
[2:38]those acts of goodness another example of the prophet's loyalty is what
[2:44]ibn hasham has narrated in his seerah he states that in the
[2:50]fate of mecca the year of the conquest of mecca and mecca
[2:54]is the hometown of the prophet sallallahu alaihi the ansar said amongst
[3:00]themselves privately at aruna rasool allah they said to themselves don't you
[3:17]think that if now the prophet has victory in mecca and it
[3:19]is his homeland he will go back to mecca and consider mecca
[3:24]as his base the prophet was standing on the mount of safa
[3:30]supplicating to allah when he overheard them saying something so when the
[3:36]prophet finished his dua he told them what did you say to
[3:39]the ansar they said nothing never mind the prophet three times insisted
[3:45]on them no tell me what you said so they finally told
[3:49]him that we're discussing amongst ourselves that if you achieve victory in
[3:53]mecca you will you stay here look at the loyalty of the
[3:59]prophet now if it was someone else yes why not i used
[4:01]you in medina i'm now powerful i'll go back to my mecca's
[4:04]my headquarters the prophet told them allah never i seek refuge in
[4:12]god in doing something like that which means it's inappropriate the last
[4:19]several years i lived with you and i will die with you
[4:28]that's loyalty the prophet recognized the efforts of the ansar you gave
[4:32]me a refuge here in medina you supported me now just because
[4:36]i've gained victory you think i'll abandon you and go back to
[4:41]my hometown of meccano i lived with you i'll die with you
[4:43]that is an act of the loyalty of the prophet sallallahu alaihi
[4:47]he is loyal to his supporters doesn't just forget them and abandon
[4:55]them so this is uh one example any any thoughts on this
[5:02]see it would have been inappropriate for the prophet to relocate to
[5:06]mecca even though mecca is holy holier than medina it houses the
[5:10]kaaba the house of allah but the prophet as a leader is
[5:17]making a statement here that i have to be loyal to my
[5:21]people so here's one example of the prophet's loyalty another example of
[5:24]the prophet's loyalty is that at the battle of badr the prophet
[5:32]sallallahu alaihi prohibited the muslim fighters from killing a man by the
[5:38]name of abu bukhturi the prophet said even if you see him
[5:45]in the battlefield don't kill him why the prophet clearly made a
[5:53]command to his army any one of you meets do not kill
[6:01]him yes he was good in mecca so ibn hisham comments he
[6:07]says the reason why the prophet sallallahu alaihi prohibited the muslims from
[6:13]killing abel is because in mecca even though he was not a
[6:17]mutant he stayed as a mushrik so he's deviant and corrupt in
[6:22]his beliefs but he was the most honorable of those meccans and
[6:26]when he was in mecca he never hurt the prophet he never
[6:31]harassed the prophet and he never even negatively mentioned the prophet he
[6:36]didn't he did not fight the prophet in any way and in
[6:42]fact he was instrumental in uh breaking the boycott of quraysh against
[6:49]bani hashem remember the three-year boycott he's like no this is not
[6:55]right i'm not going to abide by the laws of this boycott
[6:57]i'll do business with them that's fine so the prophet alaihi did
[7:02]not forget this goodness that he had and so he told the
[7:06]muslims but even if you see him in the battlefield he's here
[7:10]with the muslim do not kill him because in mecca he didn't
[7:14]slander me he didn't fight me even though he stayed as a
[7:19]mushrik see that's the loyalty of the prophet yes brother i have
[7:26]two questions um the first is about this personality what would he
[7:30]be doing on the side of the mushrikeen if he's still you
[7:38]know neutral towards the crime first of all in terms of his
[7:42]aqidah he was not neutral he rejected islam he stayed as a
[7:45]muslic and he defended polytheism but he didn't fight the prophet he
[7:52]just left him alone we can conclude from the prophet's orders that
[7:57]he was there either to support shirk because he does believe in
[8:03]shirk even though he doesn't actively want to kill the prophet but
[8:06]sometimes kathra sawad as they say you just want to make your
[8:11]group seem stronger or he was compelled to come because if he
[8:17]stayed behind in mecca he'd be ridiculed are you weak you're a
[8:22]coward you're betraying us so there were some mushriks by the way
[8:24]who came to bed because they were compelled but they did not
[8:30]wish to fight the prophet by the way like abbas like abbas
[8:35]the uncle of the prophet he he came to the battle but
[8:41]the prophet basically told the muslims let when he was a captive
[8:43]the prophet said free him then it was explained to the muslims
[8:48]he himself said he said i was forced to come i did
[8:50]not want to come but i had no choice but to come
[8:54]but yes i did not actively fight any muslim but i just
[8:57]had to show my presence so maybe abu bakr just came to
[9:01]bed to show his presence there is no indication that he was
[9:03]actually fighting the second question was about the uh loyalty of the
[9:10]prophet and how uh you know he said to the i will
[9:15]live with you to the end um i mean it's it's a
[9:21]verse in sura which is a little bit like you know at
[9:23]least on the face value it's a little bit troubling but it
[9:27]almost seems as if allah is kind of like rebuking the prophet
[9:34]and he says uh you know don't turn your eyes towards uh
[9:48]um [Music] so i mean is is this like actually a rebuke
[10:07]against the prophet that just be happy with who you have stop
[10:10]looking even though he just wants hidayah for everybody could you shed
[10:14]some light on this in light of the loyalty of the prophet
[10:16]not forgetting the sacrifices of those early companions basically to understand these
[10:23]verses it's important to know that normally with a leader who becomes
[10:31]successful usually he develops an attachment to the power and the position
[10:37]that he has so the prophet the day he left mecca he
[10:39]did not really have any supporters except a few he had no
[10:44]position no power no army nothing when he went to madina slowly
[10:47]allah gave him an army slowly the wealth started to flow into
[10:53]madina especially after fatah mecca and so the prophet acquired the position
[10:56]of a statesman a powerful normally when you're in that position you
[11:03]start looking at materialistic gains that happens with every king every leader
[11:10]allah is in these verses is basically telling the prophet you're not
[11:16]like those kings so don't think of fixing your eyes on the
[11:21]hayata dunya on the decorations on the money because now it's all
[11:26]at your disposal so that allah is not directly rebuking the prophet
[11:30]for something he did it's just a way to train the prophet
[11:34]and to remind him that that's not your role so don't even
[11:39]think of that it's like for instance your son achieves a position
[11:43]of power right your son becomes the president he has not done
[11:47]anything wrong yet tell him my son don't do that don't bribe
[11:51]anyone baba i've not bribed anyone yes yes i'm just warning you
[11:55]don't like luqman exactly so we can conclude from that verse that
[12:02]allah is not rebuking the prophet allah is just sending the policy
[12:05]of who his prophets are and to remind the people that this
[12:09]is your prophet your prophet is one who does not do these
[12:12]things because i prohibited him from doing these things so it's not
[12:17]really a rebuke for something he thought of doing or he was
[12:20]about to do it's just making it very clear that that's not
[12:24]what a prophet does so the people have more respect for the
[12:27]prophet and so the people also know their leaders after the prophet
[12:33]because who's the khalifa of the prophet the one who follows the
[12:38]same example or as those khalifas who came after the prophet no
[12:41]they had their eyes on dunya so it's basically the quranic way
[12:47]of giving you the criteria for who a leader is and who
[12:51]can represent this prophet represent this prophet otherwise it's not it's not
[12:56]something that the quran would rebuke the prophet for something that he
[13:00]did but the reason why allah says it in medina is because
[13:03]in medina the prophet became powerful and mecca he didn't have that
[13:11]power is meccan but some sometimes of a surah can be mekkin
[13:15]um but there are verses uh you know that would be revealed
[13:22]later on yes thank you we can look into the tough seal
[13:27]and see this particular verse when it was revealed another example of
[13:34]the loyalty of the prophet sallallahu alaihi is his loyalty to anna
[13:43]jasi najashi who was the king in habasha abyssinia was known to
[13:47]be very good to the muslims and he gave them a refuge
[13:51]over there he gave them asylum and he treated them very well
[13:57]so basically jafar tayyar the brother of imam ali alayhi salaam when
[14:04]he returned from habasha year 7 this was around the time of
[14:09]khaibar he told the prophet sallallahu alaihi should i tell you about
[14:13]the prophet said yes jaffar says one day i went to see
[14:18]the najashi and i saw him sitting humbly on the ground without
[14:23]his royal clothes without the crown without the fancy robes he was
[14:29]just on the ground so i told him najashi you know this
[14:33]is unusual i don't see you in your royal outfit what's going
[14:38]on najashi told jaffar that we have a verse in the injeel
[14:48]in the bible that states if allah gives you a gift if
[14:52]allah grants you a blessing then you should thank allah for that
[14:57]blessing by showing humbleness so right now i'm on the ground thanking
[15:02]allah for a gift that he's giving me to show my humbleness
[15:09]so jaffa told him what is this gift that you're thanking allah
[15:18]for and najashi says my messengers tonight informed me that your cousin
[15:30]muhammad has achieved victory in the battle of bandra and i am
[15:34]thanking allah for that look at the iman of najashi that's why
[15:38]many of our believe he was a mutman and he believed in
[15:41]islam but he didn't publicly show it look at his he is
[15:50]thanking allah subhanahu ta'ala because allah gave prophet muhammad victory okay after
[15:57]hearing this the prophet made it a point to honor najashi whenever
[16:02]he could and so one day najashi sent a delegation of christian
[16:08]priests they went to see the prophet and medina so the prophet
[16:13]got up to serve them his companions said no ya rasulallah let
[16:19]us serve them why do you have to serve them by yourself
[16:23]the prophet salallahu alaihi said no they were good to us when
[16:28]you were there in habasha they were good to us so i
[16:33]want to personally honor them i want to personally serve them so
[16:37]the prophet got up by himself and he served them see the
[16:40]prophet's loyal he does not forget the goodness of najashi and his
[16:45]people you were good to us i will go out of my
[16:48]way to do the unusual this is an official delegation i have
[16:52]my companions to serve you but i will serve you i will
[16:56]give you water i will give you food that's the loyalty of
[17:00]the prophet sallallahu alaihi not everyone does that and humbleness absolutely you're
[17:04]now the greatest messenger you're the greatest creation of allah you're muslim
[17:10]in the end they're not muslim they're christians but because of humbleness
[17:14]and loyalty you serve them that way so this is a beautiful
[17:18]feature of the prophet sallallahu alaihi another example of the loyalty of
[17:23]the prophet is with his wife khadija is the one who stood
[17:26]by his side when everyone abandoned him you think the prophet ever
[17:31]forget forgot that when ayesha would comment on khadija you're all familiar
[17:36]with her comments you know she would say ya rasulallah why do
[17:38]you bring her up she was just an old woman who died
[17:43]in quraish this really upset the prophet sallallahu alaihi the narration states
[17:50]his face changed he was shown to display anger and he says
[17:53]no i swear by allah allah did not give me a better
[17:57]wife than khadija she is the one who believed in me when
[18:01]everyone else disbelieved she accepted my message when others rejected she is
[18:08]the one who gave me from her wealth when others denied me
[18:11]normally normally why is this significant normally when a man remarries in
[18:16]a different town and of different different circumstances younger wives right tell
[18:22]us he doesn't talk about the old wife right this is a
[18:26]new life let's just move on you even forget about those days
[18:29]but not the prophet he was very sensitive to always highlight the
[18:36]legacy of khadijah and he would not accept it for anyone to
[18:40]put her down in any way that's loyalty remember we're we're just
[18:46]examining the humane qualities of the prophet sometimes we see him as
[18:50]a prophet we feel we can't connect to him but remember this
[18:53]is a lesson for us someone stood with you even 30 years
[18:57]ago and they died honor their legacy be loyal don't forget that
[19:01]and so we find this beautiful loyalty um about lady khadija to
[19:11]the point whereas aisha states the greatest jealousy i've ever experienced is
[19:17]with khadijah subhanallah you know what's the matter with her khadijah died
[19:21]many years ago she's not even in your way now she says
[19:25]to the point where the prophet would slaughter a sheep and then
[19:30]he would ask who are the old friends of khadijah and he
[19:36]would give them the meat says that bothers me because of the
[19:40]jealousy but look at the loyalty of rasulullah he remembers the old
[19:45]friends of khadijah to honor her he goes and searches for them
[19:49]and he sends them meat that's loyalty he's going out of his
[19:54]way to show that loyalty yes say it okay you said the
[19:58]other day the prophet was married to like four at one time
[20:00]right no more nine at once okay some even say 13 but
[20:06]when he passed away he had nine wives they were at the
[20:09]same time at the same time and that's an exception for the
[20:12]prophet why didn't they get jealous from each other of course they
[20:18]did but those who were mormons like um they didn't give him
[20:21]that much trouble they had some natural feelings of jealousy but they
[20:25]didn't act upon it they respected the prophet they never conspired they
[20:29]never gave him a headache some others did did god tell him
[20:34]to marry that man yes it was by instruction of god and
[20:36]he's the only exception by the way every muslim the limit on
[20:40]permanent wives is four except prophet muhammad and we examined why remember
[20:46]from last year in our series we examined each of those wives
[20:49]what's their story why did the prophet marry her last year last
[20:53]year yes in another hadith yes brother sorry no no that's okay
[21:00]you know the four wives thing can a man have four wives
[21:04]and then on top of that and have more vibes technically by
[21:10]by the letter of the law yes the the temporary marriage is
[21:15]not capped at any number or at the time of the prophet
[21:17]there were slaves right that was also not capped at any number
[21:21]it's the permanent wives that islam put a limit of four so
[21:26]yes technically if you go by the letter of the law yes
[21:29]but now what's the philosophy of the law what's the wisdom behind
[21:34]it what are the conditions that's a separate issue yes what's that
[21:41]brother okay i think the uh brother finished the question so the
[21:49]prophet salallahu alaihi to show you his loyalty for lady khadija when
[21:53]he would hear the name khadijah he could not control himself but
[22:00]cry that's loyalty that's true love and he would say khadijah who's
[22:04]like khadija and then he would mention her virtues and another hadith
[22:11]narrates that once an old woman came to see the prophet the
[22:15]prophet showed her so much respect so much compassion and he treated
[22:22]her unusually aysha said who is this lady like why did you
[22:27]just give her special treatment who is she i don't even know
[22:33]her the prophet salallahu alaihi stated the prophet said during the days
[22:42]of khadijah this old woman would come to our to our house
[22:44]she had something to do with lady khadija bringing something taking something
[22:48]maybe a friendship the prophet just because he remembers that scene of
[22:53]this lady coming during the days of khadijah now he honors her
[22:58]and he gives her a special treatment in honor of his wife
[23:03]khadijah show me loyalty that matches this this is rasulullah and this
[23:07]is his amazing amazing loyalty nowadays they say if a man like
[23:14]his wife dies and he marries is not loyal to his wife
[23:19]no islamically that's not true yes they're socially culturally you have to
[23:24]be sensitive about the way you transition into that marriage if your
[23:29]wife just died right then a month later you're having a wedding
[23:33]okay socially that's disrespectful wait wait a while but the actual idea
[23:39]of remarrying even for the wife if she waits four months and
[23:42]10 days according to islamic law there's nothing about that one of
[23:50]the i would say disasters i call it a disaster misfortunes of
[23:53]the middle east countries like iraq let's say some parts of the
[23:58]middle east is that when a woman her husband dies that's it
[24:00]she has to wear black for the rest of her life and
[24:03]she cannot get remarried if she even speaks of it her entire
[24:08]clan is going to boycott her and ostracize her this is haram
[24:14]this is not islam islam said four months 10 days 4 months
[24:18]and 11 days she can get remarried and in fact her family
[24:22]should help her get remarried she's a human being she deserves to
[24:27]get remarried if she wants to but this is cultural ignorance and
[24:31]the best proof that these people are not following the prophet if
[24:35]you remember from last year we mentioned that most of the wives
[24:38]of the prophet they were either divorcees or widows was a widow
[24:45]right um what's her name safiya was a widow why is the
[24:50]prophet bearing widows he's telling you it's okay it's okay to marry
[24:54]a widow that means she can remarry it's not i'm imagine um
[24:58]her father died afwan her husband died because he was injured at
[25:03]the battle shaheed if you're the wife of the shaheed and today
[25:07]your husband was a shaheed how are you going to remarry the
[25:11]prophet remarried her in other words he's saying it's okay even if
[25:16]your husband was an important person and he had a good reputation
[25:19]and he even died as a martyr you can remarry it's okay
[25:22]but this is cultural ignorance unfortunately my my sister not my brother
[25:31]my brother my husband's sister her husband died like my husband's sister
[25:36]yes two years ago you know she told me that she can't
[25:40]go out for four months she wouldn't go out is that see
[25:43]islam does not say it's four months and 10 days that's that
[25:46]that's the islam says it says islamic law that for four months
[25:53]and 10 days a wife should not show any signs of celebration
[25:57]she can go out but she cannot attend a wedding let's say
[26:02]of course but she can go out i know culturally in some
[26:06]parts of the middle east if the husband dies four months and
[26:11]10 days she has to stay in her room no this is
[26:13]not islam this is culture islam says just don't show any signs
[26:17]of happiness like going to a wedding or party but you want
[26:20]to go to imagine this you want to visit a friend visit
[26:24]your family even go to the store and buy something hello santa
[26:26]you're free to do that there was a showdown and i told
[26:30]her she goes i said why she said no i'm not supposed
[26:34]to that's that's ignorance goes by i kinda never heard of him
[26:37]no no that's not islamic unfortunately i see how people twist a
[26:41]culture with islam and they confuse them that's an example that's not
[26:46]islam you imagine this but actually you're coming muharram it's a sad
[26:51]occasion islam says just don't celebrate for four months that's all islam
[26:55]said another beautiful example of the wafa of the loyalty of the
[27:03]prophet sallallahu alaihi al-imam islam narrates this hadith he says during jahiliyyah
[27:06]once the prophet salallahu alaihi visited a man in jahlia he went
[27:10]to his house and that man honored the prophet he gave him
[27:15]let's say you know food or something water so when the prophet
[27:20]was sent as a messenger and now he has a community he's
[27:26]powerful they went to that man and they told him look during
[27:28]the jahilia days didn't the prophet come and be your guest and
[27:34]basically you honored him he said yes um i did honor him
[27:42]they told him well that man is now a prophet the one
[27:44]whom you honored in jahiliyyah he's now a prophet he has a
[27:48]high standing in other words go and get something out of him
[27:51]that's what they were telling him so he came he came to
[27:56]the prophet and he told him do you know who i am
[27:59]the prophet said who are you he said i am the person
[28:01]who on so and so day so and so place you came
[28:05]to my house and i gave you food the prophet told him
[28:12]welcome ask allah what do you want the peace he told him
[28:16]i want i want 80 goats sheep one hadith states 200 i
[28:24]want 200 sheep from you look one sheep was a lot of
[28:28]money back then the guy asked for 200 and with the shepherd
[28:35]too okay he's making a big request the prophet lowered his head
[28:38]he's thinking you know where am i going to get all this
[28:42]wealth from then the prophet sallallahu alaihi told his companions give him
[28:46]what he wants give him the 200 sheep then the prophet look
[28:54]at now you could say the prophet got disturbed this guy is
[28:57]greedy he basically got 200 sheep out of the prophet and the
[29:01]prophet will say something negative like look at this greedy guy look
[29:06]at what the prophet said the prophet told his companions after the
[29:09]guy left allah the prophet said how come this man didn't make
[29:19]the request of the old woman of bani israel so they told
[29:25]him ya salah what's the story of that so he told them
[29:28]the story so if you're familiar with the story of this old
[29:32]woman to make it short prophet musa alayhi salam had to look
[29:37]for the remains of prophet yusuf they were looking for the remains
[29:41]of the bones and basically his body and a long story that's
[29:46]mentioned in the quran why they had to find the taboot and
[29:49]there was an old woman who only knew worthy janazah the body
[29:55]of prophet yusuf was she was the only woman in bani israel
[29:58]who knew that so finally prophet mossad came to his attention that
[30:05]she knows so he came and he told her that please tell
[30:06]us she said i'm not going to tell you for free there's
[30:09]going to be a prize for it what do you want she
[30:15]told him i am old i want two things from you if
[30:18]you want me to tell you where prophet yusuf is buried number
[30:22]one ask god to make me young [Laughter] number two ask god
[30:28]to put me with you in paradise ya allah grant me these
[30:34]two and then i will tell you so prophet musa he was
[30:40]reluctant the hadith states he didn't really like her request it's too
[30:44]much but in the end he accepted because there was an order
[30:46]from allah you have to find that body of prophet yusuf ali
[30:52]salam so the prophet sallallahu alaihi is basically saying that you this
[30:57]man now that you came to request something from me at least
[31:02]request something like the arjus did of bani israel to be with
[31:06]me in heaven at least something big like that 200 sheep okay
[31:09]what's the big deal they'll die and you'll use it's going to
[31:14]be over one day see instead of the prophet putting him down
[31:17]and saying look at this greedy guy he got out of me
[31:21]200 sheep that's so much he's like why didn't he ask for
[31:22]more nothing he basically didn't get that much nothing compared to the
[31:30]adjust he could have made a bigger request be with me in
[31:32]paradise or something like the impossible like like she did make me
[31:38]young again yeah he did he asked allah she became young yes
[31:45]allah gave her back her youth so not just in history we
[31:51]have hadith about that that old lady also regained her youth what's
[31:54]her name i don't remember if her name has been mentioned she's
[31:58]referred to as the jews of bani israel there's two ladies so
[32:03]two ladies yes who have her who have their youth restored and
[32:09]then there's a third one who was a liar by the way
[32:11]this is at the time of al hadi alayhi salaam you've heard
[32:15]of the story of zainab so this lady by the name of
[32:21]zainab emerged and she said at the time of imam al-hadi this
[32:25]is like you know 200 years almost 200 years after karbala so
[32:31]she came to the abbasi to the caliph and she told him
[32:37]i am zainab the daughter of imam ali ya allah take care
[32:41]of me give me money you know whatever so they told her
[32:45]how can you be zainab zainab died like 200 years ago she
[32:49]said no zainab never died allah protected me and my youth and
[32:55]i stayed this way so they told her okay what evidence do
[33:00]you have that you're zainab bent ali she's like well the burden
[33:04]is on you prove me wrong like how are we going to
[33:08]prove her wrong so the khalifa spoke to her he warned her
[33:10]it's rain it was like prove me wrong give me evidence that
[33:14]i am not zainab the daughter of ali so basically at that
[33:18]point he's like look i don't know how to get myself out
[33:20]of this call imam alhadi let him solve it so they brought
[33:24]the imam they told him the imam said simple the son the
[33:31]children of fatima alaihi like the direct progeny of lady fatima the
[33:35]lions don't eat their flesh haram allah has prohibited the lions from
[33:43]eating their flesh so if she's really zainab you have over here
[33:46]a number of lions the the khalifa did like they have a
[33:50]they had a trench in the ground like a big place for
[33:54]the lion's den put her with the lions if they don't eat
[33:56]her then she's truthful if they do she's lying so she so
[34:02]the khalifa told her you asked us for evidence we'll put you
[34:05]to the test go with these lions she started shaking she said
[34:11]no who who came up with this idea he said so she
[34:15]was smart she said well if he's truthful let him go first
[34:21]isn't he the grandson of lady fathama ya allah let him go
[34:26]first why me mutawakkid love the idea because he wants to get
[34:30]rid of imam alhadi so he came and he told them well
[34:33]you know you made that suggestion while they're saying why don't you
[34:40]go with those lions if you're really the son of lady fatima
[34:44]and what you say is true you be the first to implement
[34:49]it then she will imam says fine imam in a long story
[34:52]he went with the lions he entered the lions then and remember
[34:55]they had starved them for several days like they were hungry lions
[35:00]so the imam went there when they came to see what's happening
[35:03]they saw the imam supplicating and praying and the lions were just
[35:07]sitting there very calmly and they're just like asking him for rahm
[35:12]subhanallah so then when the imam left they told her yeah you
[35:16]going she started to cry she says look i i lied i'm
[35:20]not zainab the daughter of ali the the motokil told her that
[35:25]why did you make that claim she says look i'm a poor
[35:26]lady and this was just a way for me to make money
[35:32]i admit i lied and i'm sorry about that so we have
[35:36]those two by the way there is another lady i'm not recalling
[35:40]her name at the time of the imams she also stayed youthful
[35:46]for centuries or maybe over a century she met until ali from
[35:49]the time of the prophet until ali imam al-qadhaf salah i forgot
[35:53]her name i'll look it up there is a story about that
[35:56]that allah prolonged her life and she stayed as a youthful lady
[36:00]yes i mean if we look at the actual years of mohammed
[36:06]wasn't he like almost 300 years old so in the in the
[36:12]biography series before we did talk about salman and we did mention
[36:15]that we have sahih hadiths in our sources and even sunnis have
[36:18]narrated this by the way that he lived at least 300 years
[36:22]at least so yes we even have hadiths about salman living a
[36:28]very long time over 300 years so the day he met the
[36:32]prophet he was in his i don't know third century fourth century
[36:36]yes we do have hadith about that because he died one of
[36:42]the khalifa's he died during the time of uh before imam ali
[36:45]yes during the time of omar when he was the governor of
[36:51]madain yes so when he passed away he was well into his
[36:53]300s according to our hadiths yes and that in itself is you
[37:00]know miraculous so that's an interesting you know incident of this man
[37:07]coming and asking for these 200 tree another example of the prophet's
[37:14]loyalty and this is a really important one one question is we
[37:20]know there were hypocrites in medina and some of those hypocrites the
[37:27]damage they did to islam and the danger they posed on islam
[37:33]was not any less than some mushriks and we know that the
[37:36]prophet fought the muslim when they would come to the battle he'd
[37:38]fight them and he told muslims go fight them kill them when
[37:41]they come here because they're enemies of god waging war against us
[37:43]some of the hypocrites in medina even though they conspired and they
[37:50]were very dangerous the prophet did not kill any one of them
[37:56]why some monafix their danger on islam was greater than some mushriks
[38:02]the mushriks the prophet killed them meaning he allowed the muslims to
[38:06]kill them when they would come and fight but the monafics who
[38:12]were planning behind the scenes conspiring against the prophet some monafix even
[38:17]during the aquabat tried to kill the prophet some monafix some companions
[38:22]tried to kill the prophet this is even mentioned in sunni sources
[38:26]right but the prophet didn't kill them he didn't execute them why
[38:31]yes because publicly they didn't hurt islam and they gave them a
[38:36]chance to repent maybe they would repent one day but they're causing
[38:41]damage now i mean imagine if there's an assassination plot like you're
[38:44]told this companion is trying to kill me why don't you kill
[38:50]him yes uh is it because it would look like rasulallah is
[38:54]killing muslims the hadith from the prophet himself says the prophet says
[39:00]in one hadith s the prophet says if it weren't for my
[39:16]fear and concern that it would be said out there that muhammad
[39:22]sallallahu alaihi he used the help of his companions right because initially
[39:28]they helped him bad and some other battles then later when he
[39:33]became powerful he killed his own companions the prophet says this is
[39:38]not befitting for my reputation if it were not for this case
[39:43]i would have killed many many deserve to be killed and we
[39:51]know one of them the one who killed his daughter we've talked
[39:56]about this in detail before remember who killed the daughter of the
[40:02]prophet he beat her until she basically died he was married he
[40:05]was her husband married to her who was he was married now
[40:10]some say she was the step-daughter but muslim believed she was the
[40:14]daughter of the prophet and another act of treason that uthman committed
[40:20]if you remember he gave refuge to one of those enemies of
[40:23]the prophet we've we've talked about the details before the prophet is
[40:29]saying if it were not for this fundamental point i would have
[40:31]killed many but because i as a leader i have to have
[40:37]some sort of wafa un loyalty even though these some of these
[40:40]companions are hypocrites according to the quran and i know they're conspiring
[40:46]they're causing trouble but it's just be unbefitting right now for me
[40:50]to kill them because if i were to to kill them what
[40:52]would people say in history muhammad used his companions then he killed
[40:57]them exactly like how revolutions do have you seen like coup d'etats
[41:02]revolutions to the point to the point where there is a statement
[41:07]that every thought a revolution eats its babies or members they say
[41:11]that in politics usually what happens is you have a general who
[41:14]leads a revolution he topples the government then he establishes his own
[41:18]government the first thing he does after that is what he starts
[41:23]killing his own people because he sees them as a threat almost
[41:26]every revolution has done that in history right yes he's trying to
[41:32]purge them the prophet wanted to be different no don't think that
[41:36]i have a worldly uh pursuit over here and this this this
[41:40]harms islam if i have such an image that i killed my
[41:46]own companions so for the greater good he had to forgive them
[41:49]otherwise the prophet is indicating in this hadith they deserve to be
[41:53]killed if it were not for this point i would have had
[41:56]many killed and that explains because see today one argument that comes
[42:01]up when we're having dialogue with uh you know other muslims from
[42:04]other schools of thought well if these companions are as you shia
[42:07]i believe that how come the prophet lived with them he coexisted
[42:12]with them he never killed them he never executed them he never
[42:16]arrested them come on how do you want me to believe that
[42:18]so they're not as bad as you guys say even those they're
[42:22]buried next to him right the prophet yes coexisted with them because
[42:29]the prophet had to be loyal in the end even if they
[42:33]were hypocrites as long as initially they stood on his side as
[42:39]muslims publicly the prophet has an obligation not to fight them it's
[42:43]as simple as that that answers a lot of questions about our
[42:48]history and why the pro because many of us always many of
[42:50]them always tell us well couldn't the prophet if he's such a
[42:53]bad person and he's going to kill the daughter prophet why couldn't
[42:56]he kill him why didn't he exile him the prophet answers the
[43:02]question here i have to be loyal yes that last option why
[43:07]not just exile them you don't have to kill them just because
[43:11]even if you exile them people will say the prophet used them
[43:15]when he could and they attended better let's say and then when
[43:20]he didn't need them he kicked them out of his uh society
[43:22]it's it's not appropriate he only exiled to marwan abner and his
[43:29]dad he was a baby and the reason why he exiled marwan's
[43:35]father is because he mocked the prophet see the prophet would be
[43:39]walking he's walking behind the prophet he makes faces funny faces about
[43:43]the prophet okay such a person who openly see at least those
[43:49]other munafics the other hypocrites openly they'd respect the prophet like in
[43:54]the messenger they're not going to mock him openly they preserved the
[44:00]respect marwan's father he did not maintain that public respect so the
[44:04]prophet over here to support islam and to maintain his dignity he
[44:08]had to ask him to leave but those others they didn't do
[44:13]that they didn't openly mock the prophet like that even though they
[44:16]gave him a hard time sometimes they would say something out of
[44:20]line but at least it was not publicly exiling them yes one
[44:23]thing that they did when the prophet was on his death bed
[44:27]when he wanted to write that will and they said you know
[44:32]he's hallucinating the prophet told them leave he did kick them out
[44:35]of his house but at that point he could not kick them
[44:39]out of medina they did disrespect him publicly and that's why the
[44:43]prophet kicked them out that's why some people say why didn't the
[44:47]prophet still ins not insist on writing the will it's not appropriate
[44:52]anymore they broke that sanctity so any will you write anyway they're
[44:55]going to disregard it and then they will start doubting all your
[45:00]other statements and they could forge their own anyway and you have
[45:04]to make a statement you disrespected me leave yes the prophet did
[45:09]kick them out of his house uh yes brother was was there
[45:13]a question so you know when uthman killed the daughter of the
[45:17]prophet had the prophet punished him then if he justified but instead
[45:22]he married another daughter to osman so i mean that kind of
[45:27]doesn't make sense to me so we we did talk about that
[45:32]um when we talked about how the prophet threatened uthman when he
[45:35]attended the funeral the prophet hinted to him he told him yesterday
[45:39]the one who did so and so meaning you uthman leave if
[45:43]you don't leave the funeral now i'm going to expose you the
[45:47]prophet warned him he left so the argument is why allow him
[45:51]to marry another of your daughters um as many historians have stated
[45:57]assuming that this is what happened assuming many historians have said that
[46:01]i can give several answers here that scholars have mentioned number one
[46:06]it's a trial it's a test today today many muslims even though
[46:11]they know what uthman did right during his caliphate but they still
[46:16]call him the nurem the one who has two lights and what
[46:20]do they mean by that because he married two of the prophet's
[46:22]daughters right it's a test when you have someone married to two
[46:28]daughters of the prophet allah is testing you are you still going
[46:32]to follow him or no it's a trial always think of these
[46:35]trials remember why did the prophet mary ashan have such trial imam
[46:39]salam said it remember when we talked about aisha's biography imam ali
[46:43]alayhi salaam at jamal before jamal he said allah tested you with
[46:53]your mother meaning for allah to see do you follow her or
[47:00]you follow him look at the wording of imam ali allah tested
[47:06]you with your mother to see do you follow her do you
[47:09]obey her or you obey him and many muslims at jamal they
[47:12]obeyed her not god it's a test so this is a trial
[47:19]that's number one number two scholars have mentioned uthman comes from the
[47:25]powerful umayyads omaha tribe was very powerful in mecca by allowing uthman
[47:31]to marry the first and the second time the prophet was doing
[47:35]his best to defuse the enmity of the umayyads against him such
[47:41]that such that had the prophet not allowed uthman to marry his
[47:47]second daughter some historians believe that at and onwards after ahud the
[47:53]meccans would have just mobilized their fighters to the point where they
[47:59]were probably eradicated muslims that's it we just need to go and
[48:05]get rid of islam and muslim and remember they almost did they
[48:08]got very close the prophet a few just left were left defending
[48:14]him but the fact that uthman who's one of the umayyads was
[48:17]married to the prophet's daughter it kind of reduced that animosity or
[48:24]that willingness to come and kill all of them they still had
[48:27]enmity they still fought him but it's just less like imagine if
[48:31]your daughter is on the other side you still you still consider
[48:33]that side your enemy but you're not going to fight with the
[48:36]same level of passion because there's some sort of relationship here so
[48:41]that's another reason that the prophet salallahu allowed him to marry her
[48:47]and number three maybe allah allah wants to elevate the prophet giving
[48:51]him a son-in-law who does who is abusive to his daughters that's
[48:55]one way that the prophet is an example for everyone that i
[48:59]had an abusive son-in-law yet i maintained my luck say it didn't
[49:05]they like all the stories you just said weren't they like abusing
[49:08]the prophet yes that is abused that's why the prophet says no
[49:14]one has been abused as much as i am the prophet says
[49:19]no one has been harassed hurt bothered like i have been they
[49:23]take advantage of him absolutely they take they took advantage of his
[49:29]kindness no doubt about that finally and we'll conclude the class tonight
[49:31]the final example about the wafa of the prophet sallallahu alaihi and
[49:37]this by the way is mentioned in bukhari bukhari mentions that there
[49:46]was a black man or a black woman from africa probably she
[49:51]would um basically clean the masjid like you know sweep it not
[49:59]vacuum it but sweep it with the broom because today when you
[50:03]say yeknos vacuuming so yaknows back then is to sweep it famata
[50:09]this person or this lady died the prophet asked where is she
[50:16]this lady who would sweep the masjid he was told that she
[50:20]died she passed away now imagine if today a janitor dies in
[50:24]one of the institutions do people really care maybe a lot of
[50:28]people don't care the prophet rebuked his companions he told them why
[50:35]didn't you tell me earlier that she died or he died the
[50:39]janitor the lunia show me where he's buried the prophet went on
[50:44]his grave and he prayed he did a salah on his grave
[50:48]to honor this man or to honor this woman so remember in
[50:52]arabia she's first of all the hadith said she could have it
[50:55]seems that she was a woman secondly she was black she was
[51:00]seen as a second-class citizen number three what she did was you
[51:05]know a low job in the eyes of many people a janitor
[51:08]but the prophet has wafa she came to the masjid she would
[51:13]sweep the floor i'm not going to forget her now despite his
[51:17]busy schedule the prophet went to her grave and he did a
[51:21]salah on her grave that's the prophet salallahu alaihi and that's his
[51:25]loyalty i've seen believe me my dear brothers and sisters i've seen
[51:28]people in leadership positions masha'allah they have power some of them are
[51:35]famous but i've seen them how they treat people like a janitor
[51:38]having no dignity for them and if they become ill if something
[51:42]happens to them immediately they put them out of their memory i
[51:46]don't know you anymore not rasulullah rasulullah really had that humanity so
[51:51]this is one beautiful legacy that we learn from the prophet is
[51:55]to be loyal with everyone even your enemies even those mushriks that
[51:58]we give the example of and if someone has done you a
[52:03]favor in the past don't forget that even if now they're you
[52:06]feel like they're taking advantage of you and getting more it's okay
[52:08]have good give them if you can learn from the prophet sallallahu
[52:18]alaihi wasallallahu allah says
