[1:46]my respected brothers and sisters condolences to each and every one of

[1:56]you on the martyrdom of IM alali may Allah subhah wa ta'ala

[2:01]give each and every one of you the intercession of the Imam

[2:04]on the day of judgment and that brings me to the topic

[2:06]for tonight which of course is the topic of intercession or sh

[2:14]because arguably one of the most contested issues in the history of

[2:21]the religious establishment within Islam is the issue of intercession if you

[2:25]look within the Sunni school there is a difference of opinion that

[2:29]clearly emerged in relation to this issue and one may even argue

[2:33]that even within the sh World there are different discussions in relation

[2:39]to intercession what I found always the most interesting thing is that

[2:43]when you ask people in the Muslim world to translate for you

[2:47]the word intercession they give you different answers so if I was

[2:50]to ask any of you at home to think of what would

[2:53]be the word that you would use for intercession some of you

[2:59]would say to me others would say to me and it's very

[3:05]interesting that all these years many of us have used these terms

[3:13]either separately or synonymously sometimes for example we may use the word

[3:20]in the same Dua sometimes someone might say to you may you

[3:26]receive the of someone might around and say no no you should

[3:33]ask Allah through the of so now hold on what is and

[3:40]what is sha in English all we normally hear in English is

[3:44]the word intercession English does not do justice to the term or

[3:50]the terms in Arabic in Arabic also in the Quran whenever you're

[3:53]reading the verses that mention these words they're only translated with the

[3:58]word intercession so if I see the word in the Quran what's

[4:05]it in English intercession if I see the worda in the Quran

[4:08]then what is the word sh intercession when I'm seeing this therefore

[4:14]someone asked the question hold on hold on I know intercession so

[4:17]what's the difference between and because the whole Crux of the discussion

[4:26]tonight really is that I can go directly to Allah subhana wa

[4:31]ta'ala why do I need to use an intermediary that's the Crux

[4:37]of the issue many times Muslims will say that Allah subhana wa

[4:41]ta'ala is the most merciful Allah is the most forgiving Allah accepts

[4:44]our Toba which we all ask for in these nights and especially

[4:48]tomorrow night the nights of we all ask Allah but some of

[4:53]us will say Allah Others May come and say Allah some will

[5:09]turn around and say but the Quran for example is saying call

[5:12]upon Allah subhana wa taala then the reply normally comes I am

[5:17]calling upon Allah subhana wa ta'ala because we know very well that

[5:25]100% it is sh if a person expects help from a human

[5:28]being independent of Allah subhana wa tala no one denies that true

[5:34]there's no way that you could call upon the help of someone

[5:37]thinking that these are independent of Allah subhana waala but then someone

[5:47]asked the question that when we recite supplications be it supplications that

[5:54]I may just recite tomorrow Ya Allah answer my is this supplication

[6:01]something that is warranted and accepted or not or should I just

[6:06]say Ya Allah ultimately Allah is the one who answers haat we

[6:09]all agree on that so why do I just mention Allah subhah

[6:16]wa ta'ala directly rather than using intercession now as I said intercession

[6:23]in the Quran has three words in reality because what is intercession

[6:27]when you seek in reality the help of another or you want

[6:32]to go through a particular path the best path that will get

[6:38]you to Allah subhana wa taala in the Quran Allah subhana wa

[6:44]tala sometimes if we zoom into the Quran sometimes Allah subhana wa

[6:47]taala will use the word wasil and we all know the word

[6:52]wasil in the Quran if you look over here Surah 5 verse

[6:58]35 oh you who believe fear God and seek and approach unto

[7:16]him means strive to find that which is the best intermediary to

[7:27]reaching and pleasing Allah subhana wa ta'ala here which word is used

[7:32]in the Quran look my dear brothers and sisters you'll see over

[7:36]her the word it's used in the Quran where Allah subhana wa

[7:44]taala says oh you who believe or oh you who claim to

[7:52]have belief be conscious of me and seek look for the best

[7:57]route to reaching me that's the word w in the Quran another

[8:02]word for seeking help in the Quran is the word where you

[8:11]seek someone's help directly if you look in the story of Na

[8:15]mus in the Quran Surah 28 of the Quran inah you'll see

[8:23]Allah subhana wa tala discusses the story of M until Moses sees

[8:27]a member of the children of Israel fighting with one of the

[8:31]Egyptians they're having a punch up yep you know the story you

[8:33]come here and you see in this verse if we zoom into

[8:39]the Ayah you'll see over here what does the translation here say

[8:50]one of his own party sought his help so I'm seeking that

[9:06]the most famous word maybe in our communities for intercession what is

[9:10]that that is the word sha I think everyone would agree that

[9:13]sha is the most famous word when it comes to intercession how

[9:19]many times do you say within the Shia communityin oh Allah grant

[9:27]us the Sha of IM Hussein again the Quran how many times

[9:30]does Allah use the word sha many times Surah 2 verse 256

[9:35]of the Quran all of you have read of Coursey and when

[9:42]you look iny inah 2 verse 255 of the Quran what do

[9:49]have read the a Who who is he that can intercede with

[10:03]God but with his permission therefore is what means intercession means intercession

[10:17]is one of the cruxes of intercession that I seek help directly

[10:23]from an intermediary when I may be facing a difficulty or I

[10:30]want something to be answered you'll see that this debate is one

[10:36]that was raging in the Sunni world where it begins by talking

[14:33]because that's a without any debate and's interpretation of it is goes

[14:40]against all the other so with all due respect to Tam the

[14:46]just rejected that rejection of that Hadith so theith of is is

[14:52]a sound Hadith and he the prophet taught him how to make

[14:58]the Dua he could have made the the right there CU he

[15:00]asked him to intercede for me but he told him go do

[15:04]wo when you finish your wo pray the rat and then pray

[15:07]this prayer muhamad I ask you through your Prophet Muhammad and then

[15:16]he said say yah Muhammad I mean he said to say that

[15:23]in his Dua yah Muhammad I'm asking your your intercession to my

[15:34]Lord oh Allah make him my intercessor with you and make me

[15:41]an intercessor also in other words make me worthy of interceding for

[15:44]others that that Dua is sound Dua it's pretty clear a couple

[15:51]of key points emerge the first one is that Hamza YF makes

[15:55]it clear to us that we should never generalize on all sunnas

[15:59]when it comes to understanding of certain issues sometimes people will say

[16:04]that we sh believe in but other Muslims do not believe in

[16:07]no on the contrary here is a she who knows the Malik

[16:14]inside out and he has come forward and said that believed in

[16:19]and he quoted a particular incident that I'm going to come to

[21:25]through the names of Allah all of you join me here Surah

[21:34]this Ayah and to Allah subhana wa taala belongs all the beautiful

[21:44]names so call on him thereby you call upon Allah subhana wa

[21:49]tala through his names how many times when you read Dua in

[21:53]the whole holy month of Ramadan this Dua Joan I call upon

[21:58]Allah through the was of his names that is one form of

[22:04]what that is one form of wasil another form ofil is when

[22:08]I call upon Allah subhah waala through what I get closer to

[22:14]Allah through my prayers a brilliant form of wasil one of the

[22:18]highest forms of was Salah true another form of wasil is what

[22:21]fasting another form of was is what Haj another form of was

[22:29]is what my Deeds that I I was so sincere with that

[22:34]I say Ya Allah in the name of that act which I

[22:35]done purely for you someone says where join me over here my

[24:22]by referring to such a deed as he thinks he did sincerely

[24:29]just for gaining Allah's place these people could easily just call Ya

[24:32]Allah help us we're trapped in a cave no no use the

[24:37]of a particular act you done sincerely for Allah come back so

[24:44]one of them said oh Allah you know that I had a

[24:46]laborer who worked for me for what for one far and that

[24:54]of rice but he departed leaving his wages I sold that farak

[25:01]of rice and with its yield I bought cows for him later

[25:05]on when he came to me asking for his wages I said

[25:06]to him go to those cows and drive take them all he

[25:09]said to me but you've got to pay me only a far

[25:13]of rice what's wrong with you I said to him go to

[25:14]those cows and take them for they are the product of that

[25:17]far so he drove took them oh Allah if you consider that

[25:22]I did that for fear of you then please remove the rock

[25:25]you know sometimes someone you may owe them money and you may

[25:30]have used that money for something else when that person comes back

[25:32]one part of you Shan says just give them back what is

[25:38]owed another part is I invested it and that's the prophet so

[25:40]I should give them the prophet that person done it out of

[25:44]fear of Allah subhana wa tala he said I'll give you all

[25:46]of those cows look what it says oh Allah if you consider

[25:50]that I did that for fear of you then please remove The

[25:52]Rock The Rock shifted a bit from the mouth of the cave

[25:57]Subhan Allah the second one said oh Allah you know that I

[25:59]had old parents whom I used to provide with the milk of

[26:03]my sheep every night one night I was delayed and when I

[26:05]came they had slept while my wife and children were crying with

[26:09]Hunger I used not to let my family drink unless my parents

[26:12]drunk first so I dislike to wake them up and also dislike

[26:17]that they should sleep without drinking it I kept on waiting for

[26:20]them to wake till it dawned oh Allah if you consider that

[26:24]I did that for fear of you then please remove the rock

[26:27]imagine that you don't wake up your parents even though you want

[26:30]to do something because you've seen them comfortable in their sleep that's

[26:33]the highest level of sincerity cuz a person can easily say listen

[26:38]I'm looking this for this I don't care if my parents are

[26:40]asleep find it for me or you know what let the night

[26:43]go and I'll ask them in the morning cuz they're probably tired

[26:46]come back oh Allah if you consider that I did that for

[26:51]fear of you then please remove the rock so the rock shifted

[26:54]and they could see the sky through it now the third one

[26:57]said oh Allah you you know that I had a cousin my

[27:00]paternal uncle's daughter who was most beloved to me and I was

[27:03]sought to seduce her but she refused unless I paid her 100

[27:07]din so I collected the amount and bought it to her and

[27:09]she allowed me to sleep with her but when I sat between

[27:15]her leg she said be afraid of Allah and do not deflow

[27:18]me but legally I got up and left the 100 din for

[27:20]her oh Allah if you consider that I did that for fear

[27:23]of you then please remove the rock of course his desires could

[27:26]have overtaken him completely but he decided that you know what I

[27:30]will not force something that is Haram so oh Allah so then

[27:35]if you consider that I didn't that for fear of you then

[27:37]please remove the rock so Allah released them removed the Rock and

[27:42]they came out of the cave this Hadith the person has to

[27:54]this Hadith indicates that one can only ask for ask Allah for

[27:56]help directly or through his performed Good Deeds but to ask Allah

[30:21]in Surah 3 verse 45 what do we see we see here

[30:49]3 verse 45 oh Mary God gives you the Glad Tidings of

[31:09]a word from him whose name shall be the Messiah Jesus Son

[31:18]be of those near to Allah also means he is from the

[31:29]near ones to Allah so when I say called him Allah said

[31:41]his name is m the Messiah but where else Isa is not

[31:55]just illustrious here if he was just illustrious here then maybe I

[32:01]can only call out with just here but so then if I

[32:15]cannot say about illustrious is more illustrious than Jesus of course can

[34:05]to the mum you pray to Allah please true come back please

[34:09]invoke Allah for me so that he would cure me and restore

[34:11]my eyesight to me he said if you so like I would

[34:16]defer and this is much better for you and if you so

[34:21]like I would invoke him for you he said no invoke him

[34:29]for me the messenger of Allah ordered him to perform ablution perfectly

[34:34]offer a two prayer and supplicate to Allah with the following supplication

[34:39]oh Allah I ask you and turn to you with the help

[34:47]of Muhammad sallahu alai oh Muhammad I turn with the help of

[34:50]you to my Lord in this need of mine to be fulfilled

[34:56]oh Allah give give him the prophet the permission to intercede for

[35:00]me Abu is said this narration is authentic look at the Arabic

[35:08]if this was if this book was say typical they say this

[39:42]for rain during drought let's see the second khif whether he asks

[43:47]such such exaggeration is completely prohibited and I know for a fact

[43:54]that a lot of the those so-called Scholars who pretend to love

[43:57]the prophet Alam and who managed to fool the normal people the

[44:03]laymen and claiming that they love the prophet Alam and we have

[44:09]to kiss this piece of cloth or take this hair and glorify

[44:12]it and whenever we hear the prophet we name we have to

[44:18]rub our eyes with our thumbs and we have to put our

[44:20]hand Innovations after innovation now at the end of the day that's

[45:38]vital if you look here Surah 16: 89 it's a fundamental verse

[45:54]amongst themselves a witness upon them where and we will bring you

[46:05]oh Muhammad as a witness upon all of these for us therefore

[46:09]it's not a matter only that in he is still alive he's

[46:16]still receiving risk but he is a witness over all of the

[46:18]US his umah on the day of judgment We Believe by extension
