[1:28]not be scared so do not be scared oh Allah I beseech

[1:33]you in the name of my mother FAA and her broken ribs

[1:37]in the name of my mother let the light of zat as

[1:43]bring Tranquility to the graves of your deceased by contributing to the

[1:49]husseini message a recitation of zat will be in the name of

[1:51]your loved ones who have passed on let their names be mentioned

[1:54]by the grave of abdah husin one final time final time [Music]

[2:24]in the name of God the most beneficent the most merciful all

[2:28]praise is due to Allah master of all the worlds and peace

[2:36]and blessings be on All His prophets and especially the final Prophet

[2:40]The Prophet Muhammad s.

[2:42]wasam my respected brothers and sisters we continue in our discussion concerning

[2:53]the sh concept of authority and Leadership and especially our discussion from

[3:00]last night where we had shown that across the schools of the

[3:08]religion of Islam there are narrations which mention that there would be

[3:13]12 successes to and that this particular narration comes in different forms

[3:21]but can be found within within sah Muslim and within all the

[3:27]other sah works or indeed works of Sunan a person may find

[3:32]variations then naturally a question arises that while we saw that the

[3:42]number 12 is mentioned how about the names of these 12 imams

[3:47]in our discussion last night we established that the prophet peace be

[3:52]upon his family had no problem talking about that these 12 would

[4:00]be from qur for example or that these 12 will be rulers

[4:04]or that these 12 will be around until the end of time

[4:10]but then the question arose as to which 12 different schools in

[4:17]the religion of Islam try to give their analysis of who these

[4:20]12 are we showed that some said they could even be more

[4:26]than 12 why restricted to 12 then there were others who decided

[4:30]to to Hazard the guests as to who these 12 would be

[4:35]some of them taking the order quite literally chronologically that they looked

[4:41]at after and the events of s which we'll come to in

[4:48]the forthcoming nights they saw that Abu Bak Omar IM Ali imass

[5:30]that I should follow your 12 imams the reality is the names

[5:36]of the 12 imams are not mentioned Inari doesn't even want to

[5:45]mention IM orate from Im so I don't think you are going

[5:53]to get all the im's names Malik certainly had reverence for IM

[5:57]Abu had reverence for IM but there were unfortunately some of these

[6:04]compilers of the Hadith who did not find anything appropriate to narrate

[6:18]it Inari the names of the 12 are not there in sah

[6:24]Muslim the names of the 12 are not there in the names

[6:26]of the 12 are not there n dab ma none of these

[6:35]pieces of literature in the Sunni World list the names of the

[6:44]12 imams sometimes therefore someone puts out a challenge that I want

[6:49]to see the names of your imams and the list of the

[6:56]12 in my books only then I will believe the reality is

[6:59]that you your books are not a barometer for me when it

[7:07]comes to truth and falsehood yes I may quote your books I

[7:10]may for example use your books in a pical discussion to highlight

[7:17]that I as a sh when I have a law on mut

[7:22]you had that law clearly in your literature when I as a

[7:25]sh have a difference with the wives of Al They had differences

[7:32]with one another when I as a sh have a difference with

[7:34]your companions your companions very famously fought each other and didn't lose

[7:42]sleep about it at all but when you tell me show it

[7:49]to me within my literature the reality is that your literature still

[7:53]hasn't made up its mind who to rever who not to rever

[7:57]your literature has within it certain personalities who you show reverence for

[8:02]and others you don't your literature has a number of personalities who

[8:11]you praise who I reject completely but you find the method of

[8:14]praising them your literature narrates from people who are very happy to

[8:19]fight my Imam your literature quotes from people who are known and

[8:25]haters of therefore am I subject to Sunni literature that's why whenever

[8:29]someone tells you prove to me when the Sunni asks the Shia

[8:36]prove to me IM from the Quran of who your or mine

[8:39]if it's your then your T ended up in the hands of

[8:44]known Jes and saites and people who had hatred for Ali and

[8:49]fought Ali so again when you say show me something I can

[8:54]show you any ey but you will do the tap as you

[9:07]take your literature as if your literature bukari and Muslim and and

[9:27]everything that they believe in must be in the Sunni world no

[9:31]the world have their own direction for how leadership went one minute

[9:39]it's a drunkard King you still have to obey him even if

[9:43]he's in charge of Hajj does not matter he's still the ruler

[9:46]some of the omay they agree with some they hate some Abbasid

[9:49]they agree with some they hate but the reality for them is

[9:54]that the cifal evolution did not mean that the person at the

[9:58]helm was always the most God conscious or the most knowledgeable there

[10:02]could be advisers to that person who were more God conscious and

[10:06]more knowledgeable but the person at the helm could easily be enjoying

[10:11]marry making and dancing and being with concubines all night long for

[10:15]them the reality was that apart from the first 30 years the

[10:21]rest of this could easily fall in anyone's hands and when we

[10:28]discuss s and how said that this was a slim and God

[10:30]protected I don't think God protected when we go to carala and

[10:35]see what happened to the um but anyway therefore when I come

[10:38]back here and someone now comes to me and says that's okay

[10:41]you can't find the name of your 12 imams in Sunni literature

[10:48]someone could easily come to me and say I found it in

[10:50]this or this or this Kens the reality is that all these

[10:56]in some cases are not even seen as authentic or verif ifed

[11:02]by the Sunni school and on the other hand sometimes the lists

[11:04]of these imam's names doesn't mean that the Sunni World takes them

[11:08]as the ones who are chosen by Allah subhana wa ta'ala but

[11:13]rather the Sunni world will look at them as yes these are

[11:17]spiritual guides at most but that doesn't contradict them taking the from

[11:22]s to the Shas and whatever other methods they developed for choosing

[11:27]a leader now the will ask the sh okay the number 12

[11:31]is there in the literature if you don't show it in my

[11:36]books then show it to me during the life of your imams

[11:41]and I replied to this yesterday by saying that's like me saying

[11:47]that the Hadith which I quoted yesterday that the will last for

[11:52]the 30 years after and it talks about the cffs show me

[11:58]in that per period of the 30 years after died show me

[12:06]a Hadith book which is from that time that authenticates this particular

[12:13]incident they cannot why because they know that Omar banned the writing

[12:34]therefore when it comes to us the sh we are not to

[12:40]be subjected to these types of arguments number one number two I

[12:43]as a sh have my own evolution of literature that first and

[12:48]foremost irrespective of whether a book is written or no my imams

[12:55]are already walking books of knowledge on the earth that's the first

[12:59]and foremost yes you had to go to Abu and Malik and

[13:03]Sh and and somehow come to a crystallization that these are the

[13:06]only four schools of law I don't know why these are the

[13:09]only four schools of law again you don't have noi from saying

[13:13]and Malik and Muhammad and ahed these are your four IMS of

[13:19]today the the Sunni world are so proud one by one to

[13:21]say I'm a I'm a Malik on one basis on what Hadith

[13:25]but you do do it on what Hadith is there your belief

[13:29]of following these four schools until later on Muhammad B Abdul wahab

[13:35]came to even question the legitimacy of imitation and so on and

[13:39]so forth but irrespective of that you continue to say you're Malik

[13:46]or some of you took or and all these different Creeds of

[13:53]random Scholars on what basis is it in your literature that Al

[13:58]named all of these did say one day Muhammed should be the

[14:04]IM of school of law no and you know the thousands of

[14:06]differences that exist between these four imams alone so when you come

[14:13]to me as a sh and you say to me name name

[14:17]me the imams of theology or the imams of F that you

[14:19]follow in your Hadith literature show me them show me where did

[14:26]Allah no no no no no brother they are the Protectors of

[14:29]the likewise mine are the greatest Protectors of the of the sh

[14:37]evolution of our literature has to be understood by our sh and

[14:47]that's why just for tonight I change up things a little just

[15:28]in some cases we may have pieces of literature that are debatable

[15:34]in terms of their authenticity is an early work which is attested

[15:42]to by our Scholars but people question whether this is a pseudo

[15:49]name whether the person even existed and the authenticity completely of the

[15:54]book and from the beginning we say we don't as such have

[15:58]one book which is called kab is present early but even I

[16:05]as a Shia sit there and I look at it and I

[16:09]don't say that I'm going to look at it as the Quran

[16:11]I may take that which is corroborated by other evidences and I

[16:16]may reject that where it needs rejection and then I could also

[16:21]see for example that there may be aab of IM Ali there

[16:26]may have been other access to the knowledge of IM with there

[16:33]may have been people who have heard of or and yes how

[16:42]many of these the manuscripts remains exactly the same in that period

[16:48]of the lives of the imams there are some the manuscript is

[16:51]exactly the same there are some we've lost there are some where

[16:57]there may have been additions and it is for the to come

[16:59]and look in that literature even in that period we had Scholars

[17:08]like and who had their Works which were Works compiled during the

[17:16]lives of the last of the IMs of these are Scholars who

[17:25]lived in the lives of during the lives of the imams of

[17:28]and in some cases you may find that they give you the

[17:33]number of the imams and they may tell you about certain incidents

[17:36]related to the names of the IMs of where we then ascertain

[17:42]from others living in their time of them arguably arguably of them

[17:50]the most important in that period who lived who was born during

[17:55]the life of the imams was she Muhammed bin Al when a

[18:07]person asks me tell me about imamat and the 12 imams do

[18:13]I need to go to the Sunni literature Sunni literature may give

[18:18]me a broad understanding of incidents related to my concept of IM

[18:22]but I need to know my literature K was born 250 after

[18:27]Hijra that means we're still talking During the period of the lives

[18:35]of the imams while bukari and Muslim were born in and around

[19:41]means while IB ma was alive K was 23 years of age

[19:44]but IB ma our Sunni brothers and sisters put him amongst the

[19:49]six so for us if you are able to ascertain an understanding

[19:56]of Islam from IB ma or from others who were living in

[19:59]that time then why can someone not ascertain an understanding of the

[20:04]religion of Islam and its precepts from someone living at the same

[20:10]time as them when IB ma dies is 23 years of age

[20:12]therefore is living at the time of all of these yes continued

[20:19]to live for let's say 50 years or so after this but

[20:25]when I as a sh want to understand IM I want to

[20:27]look in Al first and foremost now someone here says to me

[20:34]yeah but Ali you know there's so many in Ali that are

[20:39]not um firstly something not being does not mean it's not authentic

[20:44]in the sh history and our development we have had different phases

[20:50]in terms of the way we viewed the Hadith literature and I

[20:53]cannot deny that there may be still Shia until today who look

[20:55]at the four books including Ali and say that we can't question

[20:59]any of those but we developed and developed and others came along

[21:06]with gradings that there may be that's and a that's a that's

[21:12]a that's but gradings there may be Scholars who come later on

[21:18]and look at these hadiths as well and they want to give

[21:23]their understanding of the authenticity of these hadiths can I say everything

[21:28]in alfi is 100% perfect no it's not Al but B The

[21:31]Scholar certainly tried to look in Ali to give his grading looked

[21:37]in alfi to give his grading others of the scholars of in

[21:42]other works for example did not stop and rest on their Laurels

[21:49]being a prime example being another they didn't rest on their Laurels

[21:55]and just say I will accept what's been written in the past

[21:58]no I can analyze as well but when I want to analyze

[22:04]the names of the 12 imams I will see it in my

[22:09]literature that's enough for me because the Sunni worldview did not accept

[22:13]the first of those does not mention the sixth of those as

[22:16]his master and who he follows so why should I expect them

[22:20]to list the name of the 12 the same Sunni literature has

[22:26]no problem saying mu is the one who goes to heaven alongside

[22:31]Ali so why do I expect them to have a list of

[22:35]12 of my imam's names when I look at alfi I see

[22:43]within alfi something important first and foremost is that most of the

[22:51]Shia do not own a copy of alfi and this is somewhat

[22:54]of a negative on our part that in some cases we have

[22:59]neglected our own literature and this is a reminder to me and

[23:04]all of you that we neglect our own literature and we are

[23:11]concerned with what's inkari Muslim ABB maed the for example we're ready

[23:21]to name all of these ask the sh to name you the

[23:25]main text in their Works some may have never heard of some

[23:27]of the names that I mentioned tonight and that's an embarrassment and

[23:30]a negative on our part that we neglect our Hadith Traditions I'm

[24:03]that discuss the imams the role of the imams the knowledge of

[24:06]the imams the position of the imams the names of the imams

[31:18]Imam a thousand doors Each of which opens a thousand doors he

[31:21]said I said by Allah this is the knowledge he said he

[31:26]tapped his fingers on the floor for a while then he said

[31:29]this is knowledge but it is not the knowledge he said then

[31:34]he said oh AB Muhammad verily the is an our possession and

[31:38]what should teach them what the J is he said I said

[31:43]may I be made your Ransom what is the J he said

[31:45]theah scroll whose length is 70 cubits according to the me me

[31:51]measure of the Cubit of the messenger of Allah sallahu Al and

[31:54]his dictation of it was from his very mouth and its writing

[31:58]is of Ali by his very hand that means the the IMs

[32:02]have access to a written by IM Ali from the mouth of

[32:07]everyone knows about the city of knowledge and Ali being escaped let's

[34:01]be made your answer then what is knowledge he said that which

[34:05]happens during the night and during the day one matter after another

[34:08]and one thing after another until the day of Resurrection someone might

[34:12]turn around and say how could they have knowledge of these things

[34:15]if is the teacher and he gives it to IM aliam IM

[34:18]Ali can't give it to his son he can't teach his son

[34:24]your father couldn't teach you so if teaches IM Ali about the

[34:27]knowledge of the unseen that has from the heavens IM Ali cannot

[34:32]teach it to IM Hassan and then not to IM Hussein and

[46:10]I will know that you and they are alike so here we

[46:17]as we know Allah could cause Shan to have a long life

[46:19]so there could be prophets who have long lives there could be

[46:22]others who could have long lives and he meets IM aliam and

[46:24]he begins to tell him I'm going to ask you three questions

[46:27]you answer them I'll know the people truly were irresponsible the way

[46:34]they behaved with you in relation to your leadership and if you

[46:36]don't then I will know that you and they are likee am

[46:40]peace be upon him said to him ask me whatever you wish

[46:43]he said tell me about the man who sleeps where does his

[46:45]Spirit go and about the man how does he remember and forget

[46:50]and about the man how does his children resemble his paternal and

[46:56]maternal uncles turned to alassan and said oh Abu Muhammad answer him

[47:00]IM Hassan seemingly quite young at the time Hassan answered him so

[47:05]the man began saying I testify that there is no God besides

[47:09]Allah and I continue to testify that and then and I testify

[47:12]that Muhammad sallallah and I continue to testify that is the messenger

[47:16]of Allah and I testify that you Ali are the testimon trustee

[47:21]of the messenger of Allah and the upholder of the Divine message

[47:24]with his authority and he pointed to Amir and I continue to

[47:25]testify that I testify that you are his Amir tesy Trust Three

[47:30]and the one upholding the Divine message by his authority and he

[47:34]pointed to IM Hassan and I testify that Al Hussein bin Ali

[47:39]is the testamentary trustee of his brother and the uphold of the

[47:43]Divine message by his authority of him I testify regarding Al Hussein

[47:48]that he is the upholder of Al Hussein's Affairs of him I

[47:52]testify regarding Muhammad Ali that he is the uphold of Al Hussein's

[47:53]Affairs after him I testify regarding ja Muhammad that he is the

[47:56]uphold of the Affairs of Muhammad I testify M that he is

[48:00]the uphold of the Affairs of Ja Muhammad I testify regarding Al

[48:03]mus that he is the upholder of the Affairs of M ja

[48:06]I testify regarding Muhammad Ali that he is the upholder of the

[48:08]Affairs of Al mus I testify regarding Al Muhammad that he is

[48:10]the upholder of the Affairs of Muhammad Ali I testify regarding Ali

[48:14]that he is the upholder of the Affairs of Ali Muhammad and

[48:17]I testify regarding a man from the children of alar who will

[48:22]not be mentioned by his epithet nor by his name until his

[48:24]affair becomes manifest and he fills the Earth with Justice as it

[48:27]will have been filled with Injustice and peace and blessings be upon

[48:33]you oh and the mercy of Allah and His blessings then he

[48:38]AR then he rose and left Amir said to his son alassan

[48:42]oh Abu Muhammad follow him and see where he goes alassan Ali

[48:45]peace be upon went hour and said as soon as he put

[48:48]a foot out of the mosque I could not figure out where

[48:50]in the earth of Allah he disappeared so I returned to Amir

[48:58]and informed him he said oh AB muhamed did you recognize him

[49:02]I said Allah his messenger know best he said he is Al

[49:06]peace be upon him you ask me for the name of my

[49:16]12 imams there are some who believe is still alive some differ

[49:19]some say Isa is still alive some said some said others Shan

[49:23]is stly still alive Allah can prolong the life of some and

[49:27]there are some who meet on one occasion in sh literature the

[49:33]Dua of that we hear of was known as the Dua of

[49:35]manages to reach from Moses to prophets and so on and so

[49:40]forth and he comes to IM Ali and in thisi of Ali

[49:43]the 12 imams one by one he testifies for he knows that

[49:46]Ali is the container of the vessel of that knowledge ofai which

[49:53]he taught to the IM therefore when someone asks me name of
