[0:41]respected brothers and sisters and welcome to another session of the series

[0:50]on tafsir surah yasin chapter 36 in the quran and this inshallah

[0:57]in this tenth session on yasin inshallah we will conclude this holy

[1:03]surah this blessed surah which is considered to be the heart of

[1:07]the quran and the reason for that is because it covers the

[1:11]major messages of the prophets and the messages of the holy quran

[1:18]so here we see that after the verse gives a series of

[1:25]of arguments on arguing on the day of judgment resurrection allah subhanahu

[1:33]wa ta'ala once again the verses go again to argue about the

[1:38]day of judgment and resurrection and this is the final argument allah

[2:02]uses reminding people see one of the main lessons that we learn

[2:12]from the quran is that in order to argue and to convince

[2:18]people to worship allah or convince people to believe in the afterlife

[2:23]and believe in the day of judgment you don't create new concepts

[2:28]all that the quran does is it brings to attention and the

[2:31]quran one of the names of the quran is a because it's

[2:35]a reminder all that it does is it reminds people islam and

[2:39]the belief in the quran and the teachings and values that the

[2:43]quran teaches they're not new inventions new concepts that our minds don't

[2:47]grasp and comprehend no it's just look at look at the mountains

[2:52]look at the sky look at the ocean look at the sun

[2:55]look at the moon at the stars who created this that's all

[2:58]it does it just asks us simple questions and it's supposed to

[3:02]be our own reason and our own logic is supposed to bring

[3:07]us to try to answer these questions did i create this if

[3:11]i didn't then who did there must be a power that is

[3:14]the omnipotent that is the omniscient that is all capable and that

[3:20]power is allah subhanahu wa ta'ala that's all it is so here

[3:25]the quran after talking about many of the signs of allah the

[3:32]the night and the sun and the stars and the moon and

[3:34]and all of these things that we mentioned now allah says do

[3:46]they not see that we have created for them from what our

[3:50]hands have made grazing livestock and then they are their owners one

[3:56]of the gifts that allah has given us humanity because allah has

[4:02]honored the human being and one of the gifts allah has given

[4:06]the human being is the livestock the livestock have we ever you

[4:13]know considered how much of a blessing the livestock are and have

[4:17]been over the centuries and millennia in our lives from the livestock

[4:23]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says that this is a gift that we

[4:27]have given you allah says we created this livestock for you something

[4:39]first of all do they not see allah says do they not

[4:45]see meaning sometimes there are certain things that we use in our

[4:50]lives and we are in so much need of and we are

[4:55]dependent on but we don't appreciate we are not thankful for it

[4:59]for example one of the things this air that we breathe do

[5:03]we ever say i'm thankful for this air for this oxygen that

[5:07]allah has given me typically people don't people typically they're thankful if

[5:12]they have money if they have kids if they have a job

[5:14]if they have a house they say thank you they thank allah

[5:17]for these things but there are a lot of things in our

[5:21]lives that we take for granted we don't even appreciate them and

[5:25]this sometimes happens within social relationships for example the children towards the

[5:30]parents they do they don't they take them for granted they don't

[5:32]show appreciation to them or children to the to their siblings family

[5:38]members one with one another we sometimes take someone in our lives

[5:43]we take them for grant it here allah says this livestock and

[5:47]specially of course the quran was revealed fourteen hundred years ago and

[5:51]up until just you know a couple centuries ago one century two

[5:56]centuries ago just a hundred years ago or less people were reliant

[6:00]on horses to travel on camels until now in the deserts probably

[6:05]some places in some countries they travel using the desert now the

[6:09]quran was revealed fourteen hundred years ago the livestock was a very

[6:14]valuable component of their lives they would use the livestock for example

[6:19]the camels to travel to travel long distances the camel is able

[6:24]to survive going through the vast desert so that's one to travel

[6:30]to go from point a to point b another to eat their

[6:34]meat they eat the meat of the sheep of the cow even

[6:38]the camel they drink their milk they use their skin they use

[6:42]their wool they use they cover up they use their manure to

[6:47]heat you know ignite fire to to fertilize the earth so much

[6:54]is used so much is used from an animal so allah says

[6:58]allah says we created this for you because allah has honored the

[7:04]human being allah has granted the human being many gifts so allah

[7:11]has given this for you of course to use to use you

[7:16]know not to be wasteful no to use what is enough for

[7:20]you what is sufficient for you and not to abuse the animals

[7:32]what does it mean when allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says we have

[7:35]created with our hands does allah have a literal hand like you

[7:40]and i do no allah here allah uses metaphors in the quran

[7:47]because our our understanding is so limited so allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[7:54]has to make the quran easy for us to comprehend and this

[8:00]is why the quran uses metaphors many times you see the quran

[8:05]uses metaphors and one of the main purposes of metaphors is to

[8:08]help someone else understand another point another concept something that's so great

[8:14]that they can't understand so they use analogies and metaphors to help

[8:18]another person understand here the hand symbolizes strength the hand symbolizes the

[8:26]omnipotence so allah is saying that it is our hands it's the

[8:31]power of allah that is able to create all of these things

[8:36]creating the sun and the moon and the stars and the ocean

[8:39]and the and the ship sailing in the ocean and yourselves and

[8:44]also this livestock that you are so dependent on now here some

[8:51]people they come and they take these words these type of things

[8:56]they take it as a literal to say god has a face

[9:01]god has hands god has a body god has legs but here

[9:05]we understand from the ahlul bayt from the hadith of rasulullah from

[9:10]the quran nothing resembles allah and you can't confine god by a

[9:17]body because if you do then you are limiting god and therefore

[9:20]you're doing exactly what those who gave who said jesus is the

[9:23]son of god or jesus is god and and these other other

[9:26]groups so here this is this is one point and then allah

[9:34]says we have given you ownership of these livestock so here this

[9:41]is scholars they point out that this is a sign of the

[9:45]grace and compassion and love that allah has towards the human towards

[9:50]the human towards humanity where allah has made everything at the disposal

[9:57]of the human being there are certain livestock that you are able

[10:03]to own and you have full control of you have full authority

[10:08]of you want to travel you use a camel use a horse

[10:10]you want to eat you take this animal here and there so

[10:14]so this is ownership now here do we actually own no we

[10:23]don't own anything according to the quran we don't own anything we

[10:27]don't even own ourselves what we have what we have been given

[10:33]to borrow temporarily allah says you're owning it but in reality in

[10:37]another verse allah says in surah al anam allah says you will

[10:53]come to us on the day of judgment one by one just

[10:56]as we created you one by one and you will leave everything

[11:00]we gave you to borrow behind you meaning that when i die

[11:05]am i able to take the land am i able to take

[11:07]luggage with me am i able to take the money in my

[11:10]bank account no we can't take anything with us what i have

[11:14]right now i'm holding it i'm a placeholder i'm holding it for

[11:18]a short while and then later on someone else will come and

[11:20]live here someone else after everything that i own i have it

[11:24]for a very short temporary time now allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in

[11:29]the following verse verse 72 allah says allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says

[11:39]and we have made and we have tamed them for you we

[11:44]have tamed them for for them tamed the animals the livestock we

[11:49]have tamed them so some of them they ride and some of

[11:51]them they eat so this is a very significant point are all

[11:57]of the animals out there tame no there are some animals that

[12:00]are dangerous we humans we know better than to get near these

[12:03]animals because they're not tame even if it's for example fast an

[12:08]animal that's faster than a horse for example faster than a camel

[12:12]but if it's not tame then that's not safe there are certain

[12:17]animals that allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has made wild animals and there

[12:20]are others that allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has made tame allah says

[12:26]we made these animals tame for you how is it that you

[12:30]see sometimes a caravan of camels or sheep they're guided by one

[12:35]person one person sometimes a kid guides a whole row of camels

[12:41]why this is because allah has made them tame some of them

[12:51]are for you to ride on and others are for you to

[12:56]eat from so for example can you ride a sheep no there

[13:00]are there are specific animals that are only for eating other animals

[13:03]only for riding and some like for example the arabs they used

[13:06]to eat the camel and that would be something that is both

[13:12]edible and both both to to be able to ride and you

[13:27]have other blessings other blessings that you have and for them therein

[13:34]are other benefits and drinks so will they not be grateful so

[13:39]for example the cattle use its wool use its flesh use its

[13:44]skin you use its manure the milk the milk becomes cheese and

[13:49]it becomes you know all yogurt and it becomes all these things

[13:52]even now they take from the bones and from the body they

[13:56]take medication sometimes they use the arteries of an animal here and

[14:00]there isn't this something that is for us to be thankful for

[14:07]today a lot of people they eat meat every day but they

[14:09]don't see the cattle they don't see the livestock because the it

[14:12]comes processed and it comes to them they buy it already for

[14:15]them but we have to know where our blessings come from from

[14:20]sometimes we need to pause for a moment and think about all

[14:22]of the blessings in our lives tomorrow is thanksgiving we will be

[14:28]you know in america they have a day where people sit and

[14:31]they gather and they're thankful and they show thanks in fact we

[14:35]have to show thanks every day especially this year some people are

[14:38]not thankful this year the year of covid nineteen twenty twenty because

[14:43]a lot of people are suffering people are quarantined in their homes

[14:46]and a lot of people are complaining no this is a time

[14:48]for us to be extra thankful this is a time for us

[14:52]to show extra grace to allah subhanahu wa ta'ala that we're still

[14:55]alive that we have our health that we are still living we

[14:59]have what we have everything that we need allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[15:02]has given us let us be thankful we have to always be

[15:05]thankful so allah says do they not thank allah do they not

[15:10]show appreciation we have to be grateful and we have to ask

[15:13]ourselves every single one of us we have to ask ourselves am

[15:17]i being grateful am i showing thanks to allah have to show

[15:22]thanks and there are many ways to show appreciation and thanks then

[15:26]the quran moves on to once again argue and talk about the

[15:31]idol worshippers at that time allah says in the quran so after

[15:57]all of these arguments we told you that god is the one

[15:59]who gave you the cattle and the sun and the traveling and

[16:03]and making the night into day and day into night this whole

[16:06]surah is all arguments of why we should believe in god and

[16:09]why is there resurrection but here what they took other deities to

[16:18]worship thinking that they will be helped thinking that these idols are

[16:23]going to help them for anyone who worships anything other than allah

[16:27]whether it's an idol a planet a cow person is that person

[16:34]going to be able to help you no how is that person

[16:38]going to be able to help you the idol worshippers they create

[16:41]these idols they make these idols and then they start worshipping them

[16:44]and then they have to give them how is that supposed to

[16:47]help you worship the one who is able to help you not

[16:50]the one who you need to create not the one who you

[16:53]need to help so and then allah says in the quran they

[17:04]won't be able they are not able to help them and they

[17:07]themselves are for them soldiers in attendance meaning these idols anything that

[17:13]you worship other than allah is not going to be able to

[17:16]help you and then allah says in the quran here this this

[17:23]is scholars say that this is on the day of judgment everything

[17:27]that you worshipped even these idols they will also be prepared and

[17:32]they will be taken by force and thrown in the hellfire mahdharun

[17:37]meaning that they will be brought and without grace with full humility

[17:42]they will be brought and they will be thrown in the hellfire

[17:48]they will all be taken so allah says in the quran in

[17:54]another verse allah says you the ones who worship idols and anything

[18:06]you worship other than god are going to be the fuel of

[18:10]the hellfire and you will be entering into the hellfire so for

[18:14]those who are worshiping idols they think that they're going to have

[18:17]intercession from these idols these idols are going to help them support

[18:23]them give them things here and there no they won't be able

[18:27]to you need to worship the one and only allah subhanahu wa

[18:30]ta'ala and then the verse says don't don't feel don't feel that

[18:45]in grief so let not their speech grieve you indeed we know

[18:50]what they conceal and what they declare meaning that those people who

[18:55]accuse rasulullah of being a poet those people who accuse rasulullah of

[18:58]being a soothsayer a kahin those who accuse rasulullah of being a

[19:03]magician these let them say whatever they want to say allah tells

[19:07]rasulullah we are dividing we are protecting you i am protecting your

[19:12]honor and you see this many times in the quran where allah

[19:15]subhanahu wa ta'ala continues to tell the prophet don't worry about the

[19:18]about what they say you're just a messenger if they're not guided

[19:21]if they're not taking the message don't worry about that you are

[19:24]a messenger we know what's in their heart and we know what

[19:32]they have don't be don't be grieved by what they're telling you

[19:37]we know that you're a prophet of allah and we know what

[19:42]they know in their hearts deep in their hearts and what they

[19:45]come out and say in public because many of the kuffar most

[19:48]of them in fact those who did not believe rasulullah they knew

[19:53]he was a prophet they knew he was a messenger why because

[19:57]they saw the signs how is it that so many people were

[20:02]convinced and a small group of people or others they were not

[20:05]convinced why because they were arrogant because of their pride allah says

[20:12]in the quran allah says that they they rejected it they neglected

[20:23]it while their souls knew that rasulullah was right we mentioned we

[20:28]mentioned that abu sufyan and abu jahl and these individuals they would

[20:34]go and listen to the quran being recited by rasulullah in the

[20:39]middle of the night they would leave their families and they would

[20:41]go listen to the quran and then in front of the next

[20:44]day in front of people they would act like no they're not

[20:47]listening and they don't believe in rasulallah they knew that rasulallah what

[20:52]he was saying was the truth but it was their arrogance it

[20:54]was their pride that made them reject the truth so allah says

[20:58]don't be worry don't worry about them we know what's in their

[21:01]heart so here once again finally the final arguments are coming in

[21:32]surah yaseen here allah says in the quran here this this set

[21:48]of verses they were revealed according to imam sadiq alaihis salam when

[21:54]obey ibn khalaf and al as ibn wa'il these were some individuals

[21:59]of the kufar they went to a cemetery and they saw a

[22:04]a the bones of a body that he came to rasulullah he

[22:11]took the bone and he began to crush it with his hands

[22:14]the bone was decaying he began to crush it until it dissolved

[22:18]until it became you know nothing was left of it he he

[22:24]started crushing it with his hand and then he said how is

[22:28]this bone going to come back to life meaning you rasulullah you're

[22:32]telling us that there is an afterlife there's resurrection people are going

[22:36]to be raised from their grave they're going to come back to

[22:38]life how is that going to happen when this when this great

[22:43]when this bone i've crushed it with my hand and it's become

[22:46]dust nothing is remaining of it so here allah begins to talk

[22:51]about that allah says does not man does man not consider that

[23:04]we created him from a mere sperm drop then at once he's

[23:09]a clear adversary and he presents for us an example and he

[23:14]forgets his own creation he says who will give life to bones

[23:19]while they are disintegrated say he will give them life who produced

[23:24]them in the first time and he is of all creation knowing

[23:29]so here the verses are very clear allah says in the quran

[23:43]this human being we have created from a mere sperm drop but

[23:47]this person becomes so arrogant this person becomes so prideful this person

[23:55]was nothing you were created from a sperm drop you were created

[23:59]from a clot of blood but now it's your arrogance that comes

[24:04]and it makes you be an adversary of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[24:08]where you stand and you want to wage war against the creator

[24:13]against allah subhanahu wa ta'ala so allah says in the quran you

[24:21]were nothing you were a nutfa you were a sperm drop now

[24:24]you want to argue with allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and this is

[24:28]the problem with the human the human being is nothing but then

[24:33]some people they have some power they have some authority because of

[24:36]their pride they come and they wage war against allah he says

[24:44]why should the human being so be so arrogant and proud he

[24:59]says why is the human being so proud when your beginning was

[25:03]a it was a a clot of blood and your end is

[25:07]a rotting corpse and in between you can't bring the the sustenance

[25:14]to yourself and you can't push away death from yourself so here

[25:20]allah answers he came and he gave a he came and he

[25:34]used a metaphor or he used an analogy he took the bones

[25:36]and he says who's going to come and create these bones after

[25:41]they have disintegrated but he forgot his own creation you forgot that

[25:49]you were created from nothing this human being don't we forget don't

[25:55]we realize that we were nothing at one point we were nothing

[25:58]how did allah subhanahu wa ta'ala create us from nothing if allah

[26:02]was able to create us from nothing he's able to create the

[26:06]he's able to bring back the bones and bring back the disintegrating

[26:11]bones back together tell them that the one who created it in

[26:27]the original the first time that's the one who's going to be

[26:31]able to recreate it again if someone creates something out of nothing

[26:37]isn't that much more difficult than putting pieces together things that are

[26:41]already there of course that's a lot easier specially for allah who's

[26:48]the all knowledgeable when you when you have knowledge then you're able

[26:53]to push the limits right now because of knowledge they're able to

[26:56]cure some of the heart problems they're able to go to space

[27:00]they're able to make you know carry out the most difficult surgeries

[27:05]right now and procedures why because of knowledge so allah the one

[27:10]who created us the one who programmed us the one who organized

[27:13]us has that knowledge so if allah has that knowledge then allah

[27:17]is not limited by anything because his knowledge is not limited now

[27:25]this is one example to argue with those who reject the day

[27:30]of judgment and resurrection now who is this lord the one who

[27:39]has knowledge of everything the one who made fire from the green

[27:51]trees these trees that are so green that have one life that

[27:57]give fruits that give greenery that is also able to create fire

[28:01]and give you heat and give you life and give you energy

[28:04]and give you power and give you comfort so here allah is

[28:09]saying don't be shocked allah subhanahu wa ta'ala he is the one

[28:12]who programs allah is able to create fire out of the green

[28:16]leaves and the green wood and the green trees he's able to

[28:20]create you and bring you back to life after you have been

[28:24]been disintegrated and your bones are nothing to be remained so and

[28:36]this is also something to be thankful for energy heat the fire

[28:42]fire allah scares us with the fire of the day of judgment

[28:45]but we are in need of fire in this life we use

[28:47]fire to cook to feel warm to feel secure to protect ourselves

[28:52]this is also something to be thankful for so then allah subhanahu

[28:58]wa ta'ala says the one who created the one all you have

[29:14]to do is just look the one who created the skies and

[29:17]the heavens and the earth and everything on the earth and the

[29:20]animals and the livestock and the trees and all of that he

[29:30]created all of that is allah not able to create something similar

[29:34]to it of course he is because the the pagans they said

[29:42]this is our life we live it and once we die that's

[29:44]it we're not going to come back to life and this is

[29:46]what the atheist and those who don't believe in god they say

[29:49]you come to life and then that's it we're we're not going

[29:52]to come back to life again how can you be so certain

[29:56]when you were created out of nothing the the lord that created

[30:00]all of this sophistication is able to create it all over again

[30:16]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala he has the order he has the ability

[30:20]and his command he has the command his command is only when

[30:25]he intends a thing that he says to it be and it

[30:28]is allah says that's it allah everything in this creation worships and

[30:35]obeys allah except the human being the only one that has the

[30:38]audacity to disobey allah is the human being so exalted is he

[30:51]in whose hand is the realm of all things and to him

[30:55]you will be returned the realm of everything is in the hands

[31:03]of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and you will all go back to

[31:08]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala so this is it this is the conclusion

[31:12]and the last verse 83 of surah yaseen chapter 36 in the

[31:18]quran we saw that this surah it was reminding us giving us

[31:24]a constant reminder of believing in the one and only god accepting

[31:28]the prophet and accepting the day of judgement and allah subhanahu wa

[31:35]ta'ala as we noticed in the surah allah does not bring weird

[31:39]concepts and difficult arguments to convince us to worship allah and believe

[31:43]in the day of judgment throughout the whole surah allah says look

[31:45]at the sun look at the moon look at the stars look

[31:47]at the cattle look at all of this that allah has given

[31:51]you who created this ask yourself one isn't it god and second

[31:56]the one who created this is he not able to recreate it

[32:00]again so you will also come back so common sense religion is

[32:06]all about common sense and the quran uses common sense another argument

[32:10]that the quran uses is the quran al hikma god is the

[32:15]one who is all wise one who created this sophisticated creation then

[32:21]isn't this god who created all of this sophistication going to hold

[32:25]people accountable second the justice another proof that the quran uses is

[32:32]god is just allah allah does not oppress anyone so if god

[32:36]does not oppress if god created everything perfectly then that means allah

[32:40]is going to hold everyone accountable why do we why does the

[32:46]quran remind us of the day of judgment so much because the

[32:49]quran reminds us of the day of judgment because if we believe

[32:52]in the day of judgment we will live responsibly we will prepare

[32:55]for our afterlife during difficult times we will surrender to allah subhanahu

[33:01]wa ta'ala faith helps people heal faith helps people live easier and

[33:05]more comfortable lives even during the times of difficulties faith will stop

[33:11]people believing in the day of judgement it will stop people from

[33:14]oppressing from transgressing because you believe you're going to be held accountable

[33:19]faith will take away the and and believe in the day of

[33:21]judgement it will take away the arrogance and the pride that we

[33:25]have because we're going to be held accountable they're going to be

[33:30]asked this is one point and finally from this verse we learn

[33:37]that the ma'ad from from this surah and many other surahs in

[33:42]the quran we learn that the ma'ad the resurrection will be a

[33:46]ma'ad jismani a physical return today some people they have say that

[33:51]the day of judgment it will be a spiritual it will be

[33:54]a metaphysical return where the souls will return and the bodies don't

[33:58]return why would we say that the quran is clear the one

[34:09]who created the heavens and the earth is able to create similar

[34:13]to them because he is the creator he is the exalted he

[34:17]is allah so this is why we believe our scholars especially in

[34:22]the shi'a school of thought we believe that the mahad the return

[34:26]is going to be meaning a physical return to allah physical return

[34:32]where we will our body will physically be recreated i would like

[34:38]to thank you all for tuning in it has been 10 sessions

[34:42]on surah yaseen inshallah we will carry on with another surah from

[34:47]the holy quran i pray that you all have a wonderful healthy

[34:52]and safe thanksgiving
