From the tender age of 6, our Beloved Prophet (s) had lost both his parents and became an orphan. Why would Allah (swt) make his final messenger an orphan at such a young age?
• To try him and elevate his status. In times of difficulties, Allah (swt) trains his messengers and gives them strength.
• Allah (swt) wanted to make it clear to the whole world that nobody educated the Prophet (s), he did not have parents, a teacher, nor was he able to read or write. This was a powerful message, as when he would bring a Divine book, nobody could argue that he had smart parents who had taught him. He also spent his early life in the desert. This is a wisdom of Allah (swt), and only by the blessings of Allah (swt) did he became a great man.

When the Prophet (s) was 12 years old, he had gone on a journey to Syria with his uncle. However, whilst passing by a village called Busra, a monk by the name of Bahira becomes intrigued by the young child as he witnesses the signs of Prophethood in him. There are problematic narrations about the return of Muhammad (s) to Makkah, however the correct view is that following the advice of Bahira, Abu Talib takes Muhammad (s) back to Makkah with him. What do orientalists say about the Prophet’s (s) meeting with Bahira?
• It was this incident with Bahira which gave the Messenger of God (s) an idea to create his own religion, as all the teachings he had brought in the Quran originated from Bahira, whom he learned all of this from. Bahira taught him about the stories of the previous Prophets from other religious texts, and 28 years later he started a new religion. However, this is not true.
Why?
• The Prophet (s) never lived with Bahira. He was only on a journey which lasted a few days. How would he learn such a substantial amount of information within a short timeframe, especially since he was unlearned?
• The Quraysh tried to bring every excuse to say he’s not a messenger, going to the extent of accusing him of being a magician. If this incident with Bahira had been the case, then the Quraysh could have easily discredited him by using this claim against him.
• Though there are similarities between the Quran and the Bible, the Quran speaks about the history of previous nations, which is different from the Bible. It gives us details which are not found in the Bible and gives us another perspective to that of the negative biblical perspective of some messengers of God, who in the bible would commit adultery, get drunk and commit injustice.#Hawza #Seminary #Alhujjah #islam #shia #Qazwini

Is lottery haram? According to most scholars, it is haram as it is considered gambling. Sayed Sistani’s rulings are as follows: 1. Buying a lottery. This will depend on the intention. If it’s to win something, then it’s haram. However, if the intention is to participate in a charitable cause like building a hospital, then it’s permissible (even if the likelihood of this type of lottery is very small). 2. Winning a lottery. It’s permissible to receive a lottery prize from a non-Muslim. Does this not contradict with buying a lottery to win something, which is haram? The ‘buying’ component itself is haram, but receiving a prize (i.e. winning) from a lottery is permissible. However, even if that person donates all the money that he won, this action doesn’t cancel the sin he committed when buying the lottery. The person needs to repent for his sin.
