بسم الگمر .. ودمع المخيم
By the name of Abbas and the camps’ tears
بسم الگمر .. ردينه نلتم
By the name of Abbas, we gather again
بسم الگمر .. نبدي محرم
By the name of Abbas, we begin Muharram
ـــــــ
عاد .. الدهر
The time returns
عاد .. يا شهر
You return O’ Muharram
وعاد .. بالاثر
Returning with traces
كل خادم وخادمه
Every servant
بنوح .. ودمع
With wails and tears
بنوح .. نجتمع
In mourning we gather
بنوح .. نستمع
In lamentation we listen
اسمعي يا فاطمه
“Listen O’ Fatima”

خل اسولفلچ ييمه
Mother, let me tell you
شلون چانت جيتي
How I have arrived
حيود بأكتار الضعينه
The caravan was surrounded with heroes
بزود حفت ناگتي
Surrounding my camel in pride
من وصلنه الكربله
When we reached Karbala
الرسمت مناقب عصمتي
Which sketched the characteristics of my infallibility
بيد ابو فاضل عضيدي
By his palms, my brother Abbas
بنى استار الخيمتي
Built my tent
اليوم دقلها الوتد
He fixated its anchor
علقها الرايه
And hung his banner
ركع للخيمه وسجد
He prostrated by the tent
عودها بهايه
He accustomed it to that pride
ولام الحزن .. والزهره أمها
To the lady of anguish, Zainab, and her mother Fatima
لام الحزن .. فزعت خيمها
To the lady of anguish, the tents took a stance
لام الحزن .. بكل ديره ماتم
To the lady of anguish, a memorial is held in every land
نبدي محرم
We begin Muharram
ـــــــ
جود : وشيم
Nobility and pride
جود : الاشم

جود : وعلم
A water pouch and a flag
كلّه علــي هالولي
Abbas is the resemblance of Ali
بيه : لِـ نتصر
By him, I shall triumph
بيه : ماخسر
By him, I shall not be defeated
بيه : بزوده كر
His attacks in battle were heroic
واتنخّه بسمه علي
I implore by the name of Ali
ليوث حيدر هالتنخّت
His valiant heroic sons
شمـّرت ذرعانهه
They have prepared for battle
شدوا سروج الاصايل
And have saddled their horses
من لوو بعنانها
And charged towards battle
هلهلت ليها المعاره
The battlefield cheered for them
وگامت بتربانها
And its dust rose to them
انطوت مزويّه عجاج
They caused a sandstorm
وغوّشت فرسانهه
And the foes lost could not see
كل اراضي كربله
The land of Karbala
تصيح بيهم يا هله
Welcomes them warmly
وكل الخدم : بلـ ها عليهم
All the servants chant “Attack the foes”
كل الخدم : حضروا وليهم
All the servants attended to their master
كل الخدم : بهالصيحه تلتم
All the servants gather in mourning
ـــــــ
جيش : والها طب
They’re an army and he attacked them
جيش : و الغضــب
They’re an army who face his wrath
الجيش : بيده حب
Their army are like seeds
وابتده طحن الرحى
And he began crushing them
موت : من يهد
He resembles death when he attacks
موت : ما يرد
An unwavering death
موت : بلا جهد
An effortless death
بصيحه لعددهم محه
His roar shattered the foes
ابوفاضل تصدر
Abbas attacked
واحتارت اميه
The Umayyads were bewildered
لفاها الموت الأحمر
They were overtaken by the red death
كفيل الهاشميه
Zainab’s guardian
خطب بيهم رعبهم
He gave a sermon which terrified them:
ها يجيوش اميه
O’ Umayyad army
اذا واحدكم يخاف
If you fear duels
تعالوا ميه ميه
Attack me in crowds
وحگ معصب اخيتي
I swear by Zainab’s veil
تشوفون المنيه
You shall meet your death
بعضهم من سمع طاح
Some of them collapsed upon hearing the sermon
دخل خطاف الأرواح
Abbas resembles the angel of death, claiming their souls
اهلال الشهر : محّد ترقّب
The crescent of Muharram, no one awaits it
اهلال الشهر : عدنه خو زينب
The crescent of Muharram, as we have Zainab’s brother
اهلال الشهر : بهذا البدر تم
The crescent of Muharram was complete by the moonlike Abbas
