[0:00]When I recite Quran, I feel like it rolls off the tongue.

[0:03]Like it sounds nice.

[0:04][music] Like even just to sit and recite Quran is just a

[0:08]very relaxing sensation.

[0:08]I mean the Quran really deals with such a broad spectrum, you

[0:13]know, going from like your reason for being the creation of of

[0:16]mankind, you know, down to the practical laws [music] down to historical

[0:19]stories of the prophets.

[0:19]And there's so much wisdom contained, you know, um that it's one

[0:24]of those books that sometimes if you read a book once, you

[0:25]know, you feel like you've read it, you wouldn't read it again.

[0:28]But the Quran, every single time you read it, it's [music] like

[0:30]there's always something else to be gained.

[0:32]There's something something like an ayah which you've read many times over.

[0:35]When you read it again, you just find out something different in

[0:37]it.

[0:37]Or you can read a different scholar's interpretation or a hadith about

[0:42]this ayah and all of a sudden you gain something extra.

[0:43]Um and it just seems like this ne never stops with the

[0:48]Quran.

[0:46]You know, for me, you know, um if we believe that that

[0:50]God [music] has actually given us his his book and an actual

[0:51]sort of code for life, a belief, you know, everything's in there

[0:57]that we need.

[0:55]Um, you know, I think, you know, the the more I try

[1:00]to make [music] this like a like an everyday part of my

[1:05]life to read the Quran.

[1:05][music] I hope they don't work.

[1:21]>> After I've been Muslim for maybe around 5 [music] years, um,

[1:25]and shortly after I got married, we my my wife and myself,

[1:27]we moved out to Syria [music] for a year.

[1:30]Um, the main reason was we wanted to study Arabic so we

[1:34]could understand some more of the Quran, [music] some more of the

[1:36]works which has not been translated into English.

[1:38]Um, just to get a better feeling for the dua and all

[1:40]this kind of things.

[1:42][music] So, so we studied out in Syria for a year.

[1:44]Um, we studied at the University of Damascus for a while and

[1:47]we also um, alhamdulillah had some help from some of the houses

[1:49]who let us sit in their classes and put on some special

[1:54]programs for [music] us.

[1:55]>> You know, all in all, I mean that year which I

[1:57]spent in Syria really changed had a completely life-changing effect for me.

[2:01]It really [music] um had had a massive influence um on my

[2:04]understanding [music] of Islam and my strength um as a Muslim.

[2:10]>> [music] >> Okay.

[2:18]The school is [music] um it's a madressa that we call it

[2:21]obviously still use Arabic word um for for the young children to

[2:27][music] come on a Saturday.

[2:27]So they come on a Saturday morning from around 10:00 in the

[2:30]morning until [music] 2:00 in the afternoon.

[2:32]Um and then they study a range of they try to study

[2:37]like a [music] broad range.

[2:38]So they study Arabic, they study Quran, they study history, um they

[2:42]study and so there's there's tried to cover a very broad range

[2:46][music] of subjects.

[2:47]Um and they go all the way up until getting like a

[2:49]GCSE Arabic or GC, you know, so there's a GCE Islamic studies.

[2:53]So they go all the way up to getting some sort of

[2:54]recognized [music] qualifications.
