O’ Month, your crescent slaughters my wishes
مِن يِهل ويّاهْ ترجع ذكرياتي
When it appears, my memories return with it
أَنظُــــر هِـــلالك يا شهــر
I glance at your crescent
أسترجع اِمن الطَّف صور ... آنا زينب
I reminisce memories of Karbala, I am Zainab

عاد الحِــزن عاد الأَلَم ... لَمَّن طِلَـــع هِلالك
Anguish and woe have returned when your crescent appeared
لو جاوَبت عن حالتي ... أذبَح نحر سؤالك
If I told you of my state, I’d be slaughtering your question
أذكُر الطَّف والجرالي ... والنَّظَر لو شافه
I remember Karbala and what I endured if my eyes saw the crescent
أذكُر القُــــرآن لَمَّــــن ... ذبحِتـه السيّافه
I remember when the swords slaughtered the Quran (Hussain)
يا شهر المُحرَّم رِجْعَــت أيّامك
O’ Muharram, your days have brought back
أيّام المُصيبــةْ
The days of the calamity
وانه بدمع الألم أستَقبِل آلامك
With tears of woe, I welcome your pain
بدموع الغريبةْ
With tears of estrangement
ذكرى ذكرى يا مُحرَّم بالمشاعر
O’ Muharram, you carry painful memories
مِن تعود اليوم تكسر بالخواطر
When you return, you devastate our hearts
لو خـاطِــري بيـك انكِسَر
If I was devastated during your month
أسترجع اِمن الطَّف صور ... آنا زينب

صورة كفيلي من رِحَل ... واستَحكُمت ظُروفه
I envision my guardian as he departed towards his fate
ما رَد على مَتــن النهـر ... گطعــوا إلــه چُفوفه
He did not return from the riverbank where they severed his palms
صـورة القاســم أَمامي ... والشَّمِع والزَّفـةْ
I envision AlQassim, surrounded by candles and celebrations
واُمَّـه مفجوعةْ تِشاهِد ... عالترايب نَزْفـه
His devastated mother watches his wedding on the battlefield
والصــوره الأليمــه اللِّي تِحِــز بالروح
The painful image which rips the soul
لحسيـن اِو رضيعـه
Is of Hussain and his infant
طفل ظامي بسهم من حرمله مذبوح
A thirsty infant who was slaughtered by Harmala’s arrow
ويشرب من نجيعه
The infant drank his own spilled blood
صورة اِحسين اويه الأكبر مِن يودعه
A memory of Hussain as he bids farewell to AlAkbar
هالوداع اللِّي طبگـ سَبعه اِعلى سَبعـةْ
It is the farewell which devastated the skies
مِن أذكـــر أحــزان الدَّهر
When I remember the greatest anguish
أسترجع اِمن الطَّف صور ... آنا زينب
I reminisce memories of Karbala, I am Zainab

صورة أخوي اِعلى الرمل ... مِن وزِّعوا وصاله
The memory of my brother on the ground, his body is butchered
ابلا خُنصــر ابلايــه نَحَر ... وراسه برُمح تعالى
A severed finger, and a severed head which is raised on a spear

والخيـــام الوَجِّــروها ... زيِّــــــــدَت آلامي
The scorched tents intensified my sorrow
فَرَّت أطفال اِو حراير ... من لهيب اخيامي
The children and windows fled the blazing flames
والصوره الرهيبه جابوا المَحمَل
An astonishing memory, they brought me a howdah
واخــذوني سبيَّــةْ
And took me as a captive
أخت عبّــاس گالوا ركبَت الهِزَّل
They mockingly said “Abbas’ sister mounts a weak camel
وبت حامي الحميَّةْ
Despite being Ali’s daughter”
أذكر الكوفـه بهِلالك والمُصايب
Your crescent reminds me of Kufa and its adversities
لو مُصاب الشام أذكر والنوايب
When I remember Sham and its woe
من أذكــر اللِّي بحالي مَر
As I remember what I endured
أسترجع اِمن الطَّف صور ... آنا زينب
I reminisce memories of Karbala, I am Zainab
