Between You and Me

إذا رايد دمع .. يا مهدي خذ عيني
If you want tears, O Mahdi take my eyes
أنا الراسم حلم .. ما بينك وبيني
I am the one who has been drawing a dream between you and me
كثر ما دوّرت وينك صحت ويني
As much as I look for you, I yelled where I am!

امن العدم أخرَجني شوگك للوجود الإسمه غَيبه
The thing that broughtme out from nothing is your longing. To the existence of occultation.
يا غريب أفهم شعوره ابرحلتي المثلك غريبه
Oh stranger who I understand his feeling, just like my strange journey.
أسمى حالات المحب لو صار مرآة لحَبيبه
The highest lover cases are when he becomes a mirror to his beloved.
آنا نُدبه ابصوتي بحّت وانته يا أمّن يُجيبه
A weep has cracked in my voice and you are the “who responds”.

دلّيني إنته ابيا كتر .. يالغاب ويّاك العمر
Guide me where you are. You who I missed my life with you.
كل لحظة أكثر أنتظر.. ترجع اللحظات خيبه
Every moment I wait for, returns back with disappointment.

يالحلمي ليله أمشي معَه .. انزور الشموس الطالعه
O Mahdi, whom my dream is to walk with one night, to visit the clear source and spring of light (vision and insight).
تحلى الزياره الجامعه .. ابصوتك الأشجى ونحيبه
The comprehensive visitation is preferable from your humbled voice and your wailing

اوْگَفِت حامل ورِد .. كم جمعه يم بابك
How many Fridays have I held flowers at your door?
أنا التارك گلب .. ذايب في سردابك
I am the one who left his heart in your cellar.
وأنا اللي ابغيبتك صار الوَلَهْ ديني
The longing has become my worship because of your occultation.

هَبني يا مهدي صبرت ابهالمتاهه اعلى اشتياقك
Suppose O Mahdi that I am able to endure your longing in this maze.
اشلون أصبر وآنا دوماً ألمس ابروحي احتراقك
How can I endure and I always feel your burning in my spirits.
ليتَ شعري ونازح انته ودمعك او نوحك رِفاقك
How I wonder! You are away and your tears and weeps are your companions.
هل تِسكِّن نسمة العهْد الصباحيه اختناقك ؟
Does the breeze of the morning covenant soothe your suffocation?

آنا العزيز اعليّه أَنْ .. ايسلّوني لو صرت ابشجن
It is hard for me to be consoled when I am weeping.
وايعاتِبوك او ما كأَنّ ~ الفرح خارج نطاقك
And they reproach you as if joy is within your range.

من يبدي ميعادك لَاجل .. راح ألثِمك گدّ الخجل
When your promised time begins, I would kiss you as much as I am ashamed.
خجلان أواسيك ابعمل .. مو حجم لوعة فراقك
I am ashamed to console you with a deed that is not as the feeling of your separation.

إلك أدعو ابفرج .. يكشف معاناتي
To you, I pray for relief that expose my suffering.
بِـ اللهم كن .. مشغوله أوقاتي
With “O Allah, be for your representative”, my times are occupied.
لأنها ابّسمتك تتبسم اسنيني
Because of your smile, my years are smiling.
