[0:51]my esteemed scholars my brothers and sisters in islam and welcome to
[0:57]the next episode of they ask you brought to you by the
[1:01]blessed tree media i am your host sister zalman arahim toddler and
[1:05]i'm honored to be joined by our dear guest the esteemed sheikh
[1:11]muhammad al-hilli and all the brothers and sisters who are watching a
[1:23]warm welcome to you all thank you so much disha for joining
[1:28]us how are you doing today alhamdulillah alhamdulillah very well thank you
[1:32]very much i hope yourself uh you're well and everybody else ever
[1:36]all the money and are in the best of health and spirit
[1:40]alhamdulillah insha allah insha allah so thank you dear brothers and sisters
[1:46]for joining us on today's discussion today we're going to be talking
[1:50]about ziyarat al-arbayin a sign of the faithful i'm sure many of
[1:54]us know people who will be going on ziyarat al-arab or maybe
[1:58]we are amongst those who are blessed to to have gone on
[2:02]but every year we see millions upon millions of people flocking to
[2:09]the holy lands of abba abdullah whether by foot by car by
[2:13]plane however and whatever means is necessary the lovers of about abdullah
[2:18]imam and hussain will run they will crawl they will do whatever
[2:22]they need to do forget for that holy land of kerbal and
[2:28]it is none other than that love of imam and hussain alaihi
[2:31]salaam that takes us there people of all different ethnicities ages whatever
[2:35]you think they will be there and they're all there for one
[2:39]common goal subhanallah is truly beautiful so today we want to explore
[2:45]this phenomena of ziyarat we want to understand the benefits the merits
[2:48]as to this ziyarah and we want to also understand the historical
[2:54]context what other scholars and other ideologies think about this diary and
[2:59]inshallah we'd love as well sheikh if you could give us some
[3:04]tips for those actually participating in the walk in sha allah so
[3:07]without further ado sheikh i think it would be a good place
[3:11]to start in just explaining to myself and to the dear viewers
[3:14]what ziadatan is and why there is so much emphasis on this
[3:20]specific ziara yes of course um i think what uh is important
[3:24]for us to all to perhaps start off by recognizing that it
[3:28]is the world's largest annual peaceful gathering as has been documented and
[3:33]published by a number of uh media outlets such as washington post
[3:40]and others this is an amazing beginning to talk about this truly
[3:47]remarkable event that has really kicked off over the last maybe um
[3:51]perhaps 15 years or so although it has indeed been the subject
[3:58]of adherence for many many hundreds of years it is the commemoration
[4:03]of the anniversary of 40 days after the tragedy of karbala the
[4:08]day of ashura and believers even non-believers men women young old they
[4:17]undertake this journey of love journey of dedication of service and gratitude
[4:25]really towards the city of karbala and usually it starts at the
[4:29]beginning of the month of safar so ibain of course is the
[4:33]20th of safar so for for about two and a half weeks
[4:35]you have millions of people walking with one destination and that is
[4:40]karbala from all over the country of iraq some work from baghdad
[4:46]some work from basra and many many work from najaf and in
[4:50]this work of course they are in many ways demonstrating a number
[4:55]of things primarily it is expression of love and loyalty and the
[5:00]following on the footsteps of the halal bait who themselves would walk
[5:07]towards the shrine of imam al-hussein one thing about arba'in and the
[5:12]walk and the ziara of arbain is that despite it being the
[5:17]world's largest annual gathering and so many people from across the world
[5:21]traveling there it is estimated this year to really go back to
[5:25]the pre-pandemic levels because of course due to covet 19 the numbers
[5:30]did reduce significantly however uh alhamdulillah was blessed to be there last
[5:34]year and people did take part all across the country even internationally
[5:37]and even on the first year during covert there was a a
[5:44]good attendance as well the um the thing about this though however
[5:49]is that internationally perhaps it's not as well known the arba'een walk
[5:53]hasn't got the attention and the media publicity it deserves if it
[5:58]was anywhere else probably there will be more focus more people will
[6:01]talk about it because it's not really only shias who take part
[6:06]it's sunnis it's christians it's people of other faiths and backgrounds and
[6:10]denominations i've seen them myself i'm sure you have too and many
[6:14]of the sisters and brothers and the sheer generosity that people see
[6:18]everyone is you know really taken back um and so it is
[6:24]growing from year to year from strength to strength thank you and
[6:30]just moving on from that idea of the fact that it is
[6:34]indeed the world's largest peaceful gathering you know we have mainstream medias
[6:38]who publish you know articles and documentaries showing us that this is
[6:45]the world's largest peaceful gathering however like you said the media doesn't
[6:49]give it the attention that it would get perhaps if it was
[6:52]in another country do you think it is merely the fact that
[6:54]this takes place in at arc that we don't get the media
[6:59]attention that it deserves or do you think there are other factors
[7:01]that play into that yeah i think it's a good question i
[7:03]think we have to look at it from many different angles you
[7:07]see what the media is interested in perhaps is sensationalist kind of
[7:12]negative news sometimes not always positive news you see arbain is all
[7:17]about positivity everything in our brain oozes with goodness you know despite
[7:21]the fact that the event is all surrounding a sad remembrance of
[7:28]the 20th of safar and ashura and karbala you see people walking
[7:31]with a lot of hope optimism smiling their faces and serving others
[7:35]there's an incredible sense of brotherhood and sisterhood unity amongst people you
[7:40]know there's no kind of rich poor different color background denomination it's
[7:45]a truly an international convention of the lovers of god expressing their
[7:52]service to humankind in all kinds of different ways and i think
[7:56]it's partly because arbain doesn't provide the media maybe with something controversial
[8:04]for them to make a big deal out of the other thing
[8:09]is perhaps we haven't ourselves maybe worked hard to um you know
[8:14]get in touch with media outlets uh and pressurize them in addition
[8:19]to that perhaps what needs to happen and i've been calling for
[8:24]this for years and i'm hopeful inshallah it will take place is
[8:28]that we need to ourselves bring non-muslims to the arab work so
[8:32]you know imagine if every group decided to take a few non-muslims
[8:38]and says you know what we'll cover your expenses or we'll we'll
[8:41]look after you throughout the journey i know a number of non-muslims
[8:45]have been and they've been blown away um there was a a
[8:49]pastor in america who did an interview with me because of my
[8:51]book on arbaine his name is john chuck and unfortunately he passed
[8:55]away recently but john chuck when he spoke to me before going
[9:00]to arbain and then he went to arbaeen he was completely blown
[9:03]away by the generosity of people to the extent that he he
[9:07]basically i saw in his facebook post the moment he entered into
[9:12]karbala he as a christian pastor who doesn't know any arabic wrote
[9:16]hussein as his facebook post as he entered karbala he was just
[9:23]taken away by the sheer uh kindness and magnanimity and generosity of
[9:28]the people so i think one thing we can do is the
[9:31]pr is the videos we have the uh friends and the kind
[9:37]of publicity that we can uh present uh towards the world about
[9:44]arbain needs to be better i think um but at the same
[9:46]time for example if everybody who goes to arbain and this is
[9:51]another thing if everyone goes to our main these millions i mean
[9:53]uh there has been a lot of talk about how many go
[9:57]every year and sometimes people exaggerate the numbers but the numbers range
[10:01]between 15 to 20 million on an annual basis now imagine if
[10:06]only you know half of them would perhaps use social media and
[10:13]tweet or hashtag arbaeen that would really push up the arb and
[10:17]the walk uh amongst the most uh talked about subjects on social
[10:21]media um and they would really trend so i think there's there's
[10:26]a lot we can do in that particular regard but one thing
[10:29]that's amazing is that it's really pulled as a magnet people from
[10:34]across the world i mean i was just in america and you
[10:36]know when i go to different centers people tell me yes inshallah
[10:38]we're going inshallah we're going especially after covet it's it's really great
[10:42]to see people now are heading towards that land because there is
[10:47]something special about it i mean people have gone will only be
[10:51]able to tell you and i you know how amazing it's been
[10:53]to them and how they want to go back despite the fact
[10:56]by the way that we all know that it's hard it's hot
[11:00]it's sometimes there are slight security issues it's not exactly you know
[11:05]a vacation so to speak but i personally believe and that is
[11:08]not for me obviously that the quran clearly established this idea that
[11:13]it's a divine element it's it's certainly supported by allah blessed through
[11:18]the twelve the twelfth imam may allah's reappearance and you know the
[11:22]quran speaks about this you know allah says he says to musa
[11:28]i have made people love you and it's from me um and
[11:35]and another ayah islam is addressed and he uh is demonstrated as
[11:40]somebody who has barakah uh wherever i am there is this blessing
[11:47]this barakah but i believe that the tenth of muharram and specifically
[11:52]imam hussain alaihi salam has this magnificent baraka around it there is
[11:57]a beautiful magnet and our ba'in is special it's something that perhaps
[12:01]only those who undertake this blessed journey will understand beautiful beautiful i
[12:08]think it's really important as well as someone who's grown up in
[12:12]the hajja community alhamdulillah grown up with the love of bait in
[12:16]my house you know sometimes i can feel a bit complacent and
[12:19]sometimes i can take that for granted and so i think it's
[12:24]really key that we establish our skills as a community and we're
[12:27]able to use that technology to promote these ideas of loving humanity
[12:32]which is ultimately what i believe imam and hussain stood for and
[12:36]inshallah also bringing on those people who may not know who imam
[12:42]and hussain is al-salam or what is so some really beautiful points
[12:46]there thank you so much and alhamdulillah i'm glad that you mentioned
[12:48]some points from the holy quran because often we may get some
[12:54]people who suggest that there is no evidence there is no backing
[12:59]towards the value that we put on sierra till and sometimes it's
[13:03]a little bit perturbing for myself personally to understand the people when
[13:08]they say that there is no evidence for this what is something
[13:12]that i could say to those people who think or say claiming
[13:15]that there is no evidence of the benefits of ziyarat first thing
[13:21]that we say is there is absolutely no doubt in authentic reliable
[13:27]hadith literature about the merits and the excellence and the greatness and
[13:32]the benefits of the ziyarah of so there are narration after narration
[13:37]from many many different sources that talks about this for example um
[13:43]you know imam sadiq al-islam is narrated to have said this is
[13:48]in found in kamil ziyarat page 133 he says everyone on the
[13:53]day of qiyamah will be wishing to be amongst the war of
[13:55]visitors of imam hussain alaihi salam because they will see the way
[14:00]the visitors of hussein is honored and treated by allah subhanahu wa
[14:04]ta'ala and in another narration also in cambodia uh imam sadiq al-islam
[14:09]says on the day of qiyamah an announcer will call out where
[14:12]are the war of hussein where are the visitors and many people
[14:16]who cannot be counted by anyone other than the almighty allah will
[14:20]come forward and allah will ask them what made you do this
[14:26]of hussein they will say oh lord we went to him for
[14:27]our love for allah's messenger and the love for ali and fatima
[14:33]and to sympathize with him for all that he you know had
[14:36]to go through and was committed against him they will be told
[14:40]here um join them for you will be with them at their
[14:46]stage in paradise and therefore follow the flag the standard of allah's
[14:51]messenger and then imam continues and says so they will go to
[14:54]the standard of allah's messenger you know where the prophet of islam
[14:58]is standing with his flag which will be held by ali peace
[15:01]be upon him and they will then remain under it before it
[15:05]to its right to its left and behind it until all of
[15:11]them enter paradise these are some of the uh you know brilliant
[15:13]rewards reserved for those who perform the actual ziara of imam al-hussein
[15:18]alaihissalam in addition to i have counted approximately 134 benefits in this
[15:25]world as well as akhirah when it comes to hussein alaihissalam so
[15:32]arba is the aratus let's establish that now when it comes to
[15:37]the evidence why do we indeed say that ziartal arba'in is highly
[15:42]recommended first of all there is a narration from imam al-hasan al-asgary
[15:46]peace and blessings be upon him this narration is found in the
[15:54]book page 788 and of course also volume 6 page 52 and
[16:00]this is in regards to the five signs of the believers and
[16:04]the imam ali salaam talks about the fact that one of the
[16:08]signs is praying 51 units a day um the wearing of the
[16:14]ring on the right hand the prostration on to the soil and
[16:18]the proclaiming of bismillah loudly in prayer as well as the aratul
[16:23]now there are those who have come forward and said okay this
[16:28]arbain in this narration actually um you know means something else it
[16:33]means visiting 40 believers and that's what it actually refers to now
[16:41]this is rejected why because there is no we don't have anything
[16:47]in islamic teachings about visiting 40 believers where do we visit does
[16:51]that mean 240 shias when should the hesitation takes place across a
[16:56]year or throughout one's life span you know why don't we have
[17:01]other similar instructions from the what characteristics should be displayed by these
[17:05]40 individuals should they be in one geographical location or around the
[17:08]world what should happen in this visitation there's a lot of these
[17:11]questions and therefore this particular idea is not something that can be
[17:17]accepted similarly um we are told that you know some people would
[17:24]say okay is there anything else other than this particular reward we
[17:28]say yes there's a narration from a man by the name of
[17:33]safwan al-jamal who is one of the companions of imam sadiq al-islam
[17:36]he has narrated the ziara of arba'in itself and allamah majlisi has
[17:42]indeed placed this in bihar anwar and this is something which is
[17:50]recited by millions of people at the same time how do we
[17:54]know if something is allowed in islam or not there is something
[17:57]known as the practice of the legislators the seeratul mutasara what does
[18:02]this mean this means that throughout our history our ulama our scholars
[18:07]our leaders raja they're the ones who have practiced this right and
[18:12]you know sometimes throughout history as a result of the persecution of
[18:16]the shia as a result of much of our literature sometimes being
[18:20]lost sometimes the hadith some hadith may not not reached us but
[18:23]what we do find is that scholars have practiced some particular elements
[18:27]and the continuous practice um is something that is well established and
[18:33]you know there are many instances of our ulama walking to karbala
[18:40]you know taking part in this yara of arbain for example sheikh
[18:43]tusi himself in namba he writes the the family of imam hussain
[18:50]al-islam returned from syria on this day arba'in and he then says
[18:53]it's recommended to visit the imam on this day and this this
[18:57]is in page number 730 in his book al mazar sheikh mufid
[19:02]dedicated section on the merits of the arabic in his book muntahal
[19:10]matalib he says it's recommended to perform the ziyarah on the day
[19:14]of the 20th of suffer the reference for this is volume 2
[19:22]page 8 9 2.
[19:24]then you have for example the author of he says the day
[19:30]of the 20th of safar is the arby's day on the opinion
[19:33]of the two sheikhs it is the day that the family of
[19:34]the imam alaihi salam arrived in karbala it's recommended to perform the
[19:41]ziara on that day allama imagilici also says the same thing and
[19:44]today we have our current maraja who have themselves you know either
[19:48]taken part in the arba'in walk or have recommended that it's taken
[19:53]part in the arby's work for example uh you know he used
[20:00]to regularly take part in the arba in walk we have today
[20:02]one of the other living maraja may allah lengthen his life he
[20:10]says you mentioned in numerous traditions to the extent that some traditions
[20:15]deem it to be from one of the obligatory acts then he
[20:18]says some scholars such as majlisi and his father leaned towards the
[20:22]view that if one attains the ability to perform his ziyarah one
[20:25]time in their life then it's obligatory upon them to do so
[20:28]as for today he says this walk has turned into one of
[20:33]the islamic symbols and a source for spreading the religion hence it's
[20:37]an instance of traditions associated to venerate venerating the symbols of allah
[20:44]so these and more can be highlighted to be you know the
[20:49]evidence we have either from the practice of our scholars the statements
[20:51]of that current ulama and i remember i told you personally telling
[20:54]me once i asked him i said say no you know during
[21:00]albania there are people who say you know actually means visiting 40
[21:05]believers which is your opinion and i remember clearly he said to
[21:08]me this is an opinion by some people that exist he says
[21:10]however look at what zealot means today and how it's really been
[21:15]a symbol for you know spreading the message of imam hussain alaihi
[21:19]salam so he encouraged it he emphasized on it and recommended people
[21:23]taking part on it so on that basis there's no doubt in
[21:28]our mind about the benefits and the merits of this great journey
[21:32]absolutely absolutely and i think it's really fascinating to see that all
[21:37]the different from all periods of time since the time of imam
[21:44]hussain alaihissalam to now we have prominent people within our religion and
[21:47]within our communities um telling us how valuable this ziyarat is and
[21:53]telling us how much benefit and how much baraka is in this
[21:58]visitation of hussein specifically in this time and so let's talk about
[22:04]this number of this number of 40.
[22:07]what is the relevance of this number 40 and historically how do
[22:16]scholars see this 40th after ashura 20th of suffer how do historically
[22:21]scholars view this date yes i think it's a very important question
[22:26]because some people often say okay why not 30 why not 20
[22:32]days after ashura why not 50 why not for example you know
[22:34]another date what why has there been arab what is the significance
[22:39]of number 40 well first of all if we reflect on the
[22:44]holy quran we find that the number 40 has been emphasized to
[22:47]be a special number for example we find in chapter 2 verse
[22:50]number 51 allah says we made an appointment with moses for 14
[22:57]nights we finally chapter 7 verse 142 allah says and we made
[23:09]an appointment with moses for 30 nights and then we completed them
[23:11]with 10 more the trust of his lord was completed in 40
[23:17]nights similarly in chapter 46 verse number 15 allah says we have
[23:20]enjoyed man to be kind to his parents his mother has carried
[23:25]him in travail and bore him in travail and his gestation and
[23:29]weaning takes 30 months when he comes of age and reaches 40
[23:32]years so here allah says 40 knights a human being reaches the
[23:42]age of proper maturity the quran says you know that 40 is
[23:47]a special age when it comes to the human being similarly beni
[23:53]israel many israel were sent somehow you know across the earth and
[23:58]things were made forbidden for them for 40 years wandering around the
[24:04]earth uh so there is something a secret about 40 in the
[24:07]holy quran remember with these kind of numbers it's sometimes difficult to
[24:10]know why allah has specifically chosen these numbers this is knowledge that
[24:14]only he has and sometimes allah has given who give us this
[24:21]so for example in hadith we have the emphasis on 42.
[24:25]so memorization of 40 hadith for example is emphasized by the holy
[24:30]prophet muhammad in a hadith that is found in al-qafi volume 1
[24:33]page 49 in which he says whomsoever from my ummah memorizes 40
[24:37]hadith uh which they will benefit from will be resurrected by allah
[24:42]on the day of qiyama as a knowledgeable scholar imam salam is
[24:45]narrated to have said if 40 people gather together and supplicate to
[24:49]allah for a fulfillment of deeds the almighty will respond to them
[24:54]this is volume 7 page 103 and you know the attendance of
[24:59]40 believers in a funeral when imam sadhala salaam says when a
[25:02]believer dies 40 believers should attend their funeral and say allah we
[25:06]do not know anything but good about him 1 page 165.
[25:13]and so when you look at hadith literature you'll find that for
[25:16]example being sincere for 40 days sprinkling water on the grave for
[25:23]40 days praying for 40 believers before oneself this you know in
[25:28]salatu lay for example the kingdom of prophet dawud to be 40
[25:31]years this is all uh included in hadith literature in specific terms
[25:40]to imam al-hussein of course we have the hadith from we just
[25:44]mentioned but it's interesting that the historian of nakathir narrates that water
[25:48]was running over the grave imam hussein alayhi salaam so that you
[25:51]know it should be concealed but after 40 days the water dried
[25:56]by the way and from beni assad thereafter attended the grave and
[25:59]took part of the soul while sweeping and said may my father
[26:03]and mother be sacrificed for you how pure you are how your
[26:06]soul is so fragrant fragrance so somehow you know it was observed
[26:11]that the water was running around the grave of imam hussain alaihissalam
[26:14]for 40 days that is somehow also linked there is a narration
[26:17]that the heavens and the earth wept for imam hussain for 40
[26:23]days this is in kamehameha the heaven wept blood for hussain for
[26:31]40 days the earth wept for 40 days in darkness the sun
[26:34]wept for 40 days through an eclipse the mountains crumbled and exploded
[26:39]the angels cried for forty days over imam hussain alaihissalam so all
[26:44]this points to the significance of number 40.
[26:47]now to answer your question regarding the historical element of number 40
[26:52]this is where there is a you know a discussion historically as
[26:57]to what happened and there are a number of our scholars who
[27:01]believe that the captives of the akha were taken as you know
[27:07]prisoners paraded from one place to another from karbala to kufa from
[27:12]kufa to sham returned back to the land of karbala on the
[27:15]40th day after ashura meaning on the 20th of suffer and this
[27:20]is an opinion held by a number of scholars that they returned
[27:26]exactly 40 days after ashura and although this has been a subject
[27:30]of discussion among scholars this is today something that is quite well
[27:34]established so i'll just quickly mention the scholars who have emphasized and
[27:39]have established this um you know that arba'in was actually 40 days
[27:43]after ashura in the same year year 61 after hijrah we have
[27:48]said mason muslim hakeem in his book he uh points to this
[27:52]um at the same time we have for example uh the likes
[28:00]of sheikh uh tusi also appointing to this as well in his
[28:06]book also sheds light on this particular meeting that took place between
[28:10]abdullah answered the famous companion of the holy prophet muhammad in conclusion
[28:24]the discussion there is a discussion that's separate regarding number 40 significance
[28:28]of 40 but that also has somehow had an impact because it
[28:36]seems from certain historical analysis that this was also the time in
[28:40]which the captives to return to karbala joined the heads of the
[28:44]martyrs through the graves performed ziara and met the famous companion jabra
[28:49]subhanallah thank you so much there was a lot there to digest
[28:54]but yes all very very fruitful and very very interesting i think
[28:57]a lot of us may myself especially may discount the importance of
[29:03]ziyarat al-arbayin over different times of the year doing ziyarah of imam
[29:08]and hussain al-assam and of course we know that the merits of
[29:11]doing ziyarah of imam and hussain alaihi salaam are numerous they are
[29:16]so much that we could probably go on for a few hours
[29:18]a few days for sure but there seems to be a specific
[29:22]significance towards doing ziyarat al-arbayin and subhanallah it's very beautiful to see
[29:29]this love that is shown by humanity as they all run towards
[29:35]the holy lands of karbala in sha allah and inshallah we're coming
[29:39]to that day very soon and we have people walking as you
[29:44]said from baghdad from basra people are taking flights people are taking
[29:48]trains people are taking buses and coaches and however they can get
[29:52]there they are attempting to be and so it begs the question
[30:02]dear what are the benefits to physically walking by foot towards the
[30:08]holy city of kerbal yes because i think some people who probably
[30:13]haven't been to arbaheen or maybe new to this concept which is
[30:18]you know great to learn more about it and we welcome that
[30:19]that's that's really what we need to do as well introduce this
[30:22]belief to others um may wonder okay you know you're paying respects
[30:28]great there's ziara you're going zirami's visitation you're honoring somebody who gave
[30:35]his life and everything that he had for humanity but why should
[30:38]you walk there i mean okay you know take a car go
[30:42]to a shrine pay respects and leave um this requires us to
[30:48]kind of take a step back and recognize that in islamic teachings
[30:52]you know this is a concept that is very much deeply rooted
[30:56]in the quran as well you know when it comes to hajj
[31:02]for example in chapter 22 verse number 27 allah says proclaim the
[31:13]hajj to the people they shall they shall come to you on
[31:18]foot and on lean camel coming from distant places so there is
[31:21]a reason why quran has mentioned coming by foot walking imam al-hasan
[31:26]alaihi salaam it is said that approximately 25 times he walked to
[31:32]hajj from madina which would have taken months and this is very
[31:36]significant why because when you look at you know the teachings of
[31:39]the religion of islam it's about struggle it's about going once against
[31:42]one's own desires we live in a world today where everything is
[31:49]simplified and everything is uh somehow presented for people so that they
[31:54]put less effort it's about minimal uh you know struggle out there
[31:58]and there is this thing where allah has created us and we
[32:03]have to struggle because you know we're up against it up against
[32:07]ourselves we're up against shaytan and all the temptations out there so
[32:10]what actually this work is is is so much established because we
[32:18]are told that you know in the in the holy quran for
[32:21]example we are given the uh promise that this this particular walk
[32:27]these particular steps to allah subhanahu wa ta'ala it truly gives that
[32:32]individual an identity so you know the quran talks about the walking
[32:39]in humility for example walking to a mosque the hadith talks about
[32:45]walking towards congregational prayers the the the the hadith talks about walking
[32:50]for hajj pilgrimage as we said um walking in a funeral imam
[32:52]sadqam says when server takes part in a funeral performing their prayers
[32:55]then returning they have reward equivalent to the weight of the uh
[32:59]mountains so these are walking to the fulfillment of the hajjat the
[33:05]needs of others walking to visit believers walking to reconcile people walking
[33:10]to seek knowledge all this is great because it's telling us walk
[33:14]work why well there is two things here to reflect one today
[33:20]science has shown how amazing walking is it's truly one of the
[33:25]best exercises that people can do it's a free exercise you know
[33:27]you don't need to do much just just walk and we uh
[33:32]today perhaps you're uncovered as well maybe didn't do enough walking and
[33:35]that's where we're told we should do at least half an hour
[33:39]of brisk walking a day to stay healthy right but not only
[33:42]that we're told walking helps us with humility right walking allows us
[33:50]to um as well remember the suffering of those who were dragged
[33:57]from one place to another zainab the children the bait this walking
[34:03]resemble is come how we're trying to reflect it allows us to
[34:10]ponder to think it's a it's an opportunity to really ask the
[34:12]question where am i where am i going in life how am
[34:16]i achieving my potential and my purpose in this existence so walking
[34:20]is it's it's it's like a continuous journey but it enables us
[34:25]to um provide some kind of context to where we are in
[34:30]our lives at the same time having understood that there are health
[34:34]benefits and you know mental and psychological and spiritual benefits to walking
[34:38]there is specific uh recommendation within the halal baits literature hadith about
[34:44]walking to imam hussain so for example imam assad khalid salaam has
[34:49]and is narrated to have said in kamil page 252.
[34:52]he says when a person leaves from their house seeking the visitation
[34:55]of the graveyard hussein every step they undertake will result in a
[35:01]good deed and the wiping of a sin similarly it is reported
[35:06]to have said that allah subhanahu wa imam sadiq al-islam again in
[35:09]the same text he says allah has appointed some angels who are
[35:13]at the grave of rama hussain when a person decides to perform
[35:19]the zyara of imam hussain allah gives the sins of that person
[35:22]to these angels with the first step that they take the angels
[35:25]will erase the sins and with any additional steps they will multiply
[35:31]his good deeds until they become eligible for that paradise then they
[35:37]will surround him or her and sanctify him or her they will
[35:39]call out to the angels of the heavens sanctify the visitor of
[35:44]the beloved of the beloved of allah right so this kind of
[35:48]narration so many of them exist you know a thousand deeds being
[35:51]given thousands since being forgiven for every step to hussain those steps
[35:57]to hussein are magical they're life transformational there is this unique story
[36:01]of love to imam hussain alaihi salam and the walk that you
[36:07]know only sometimes by participating in it we start to see the
[36:10]benefit and perhaps we may not see it but it's definitely rubbing
[36:12]off on us um so i i the the walk in itself
[36:18]is an educational assault course so to speak um it teaches us
[36:24]so many things but it's in the footsteps of the late themselves
[36:27]accent i absolutely love that phrase dear sheikh an educational assault course
[36:33]of teaching us how to remain humble teaching us that the struggles
[36:37]in life are really how we actualize our full potential and then
[36:41]also realizing that the destination of about the line hussein is so
[36:48]magical and so special that allah azzawajal has has said you know
[36:54]there are so many blessings available and so many erasing of sins
[36:58]and so many multiplying of good deeds alhamdulillah when our destination is
[37:04]the beloved of the beloved subhanallah that that's beautiful thank you so
[37:09]much for that dear brothers and sisters we have reached the middle
[37:14]point of our show alhamdulillah and i'm sure you've learned so much
[37:18]because i truly have alhamdulillah it's been a very fruitful conversation so
[37:23]far and we're going to go to a short break when we
[37:25]come back i'm really going to be interested to ask sheikh about
[37:30]perhaps some personal stories that he may have experienced on ziyar tel
[37:35]arab and also drawing to the end of the show we'd like
[37:37]to understand what lessons we can take from this holy journey this
[37:41]suffereth this journey of love that so many millions of people undertake
[37:48]every single year so don't go anywhere we will be back very
[37:51]soon [Music] no home no shelter families ripped apart not sure who's
[38:19]still alive no food no livelihoods everything lost in an instant a
[38:25]nightmare turned reality as monsoon rains turned deadly across pakistan flash floods
[38:31]not seen in living memory have affected more than 30 million people
[38:36]with sindh balochistan and punjab most affected more than a thousand people
[38:44]have died with millions having lost everything the devastation is sudden and
[38:48]cataclysmic a live emergency appeal is underway as warnings of further devastation
[38:57]are forecast with more heavy rain expected please donate whatever you can
[39:01]no matter how small this is an ongoing disaster whatever assistance is
[39:09]possible visit donate.wf and help this desperately deteriorating situation thank you [Music]
[39:35]sir where today we alhamdulillah are blessed to be joined by sheikh
[39:59]muhammad al-hilli and we are discussing the ziyarat of arabi as we
[40:03]approach the days and these nights of arabin we know that millions
[40:07]will be walking towards the holy lands of karbala the holy lands
[40:12]and before the break deshire we were talking about that physical walk
[40:17]and and i think you've coined this term which i absolutely adore
[40:20]which is it's an educational assault course it's there to teach us
[40:25]how to remain humble help us to understand that these struggles are
[40:29]in every step and in every step of these struggles we are
[40:32]getting closer to our achieving our potential in sha allah and so
[40:37]sticking on to the theme of that physical walk before i ask
[40:39]you some questions about perhaps some personal stories you might have from
[40:44]the article for the purposes of those people perhaps going on the
[40:49]walk this year next year whenever they are going in sha allah
[40:52]and we pray that we would get to do the zealots of
[40:56]arab inshallah what practical tips could you suggest for those taking part
[41:01]in that walk whether it be from baghdad from basra or more
[41:05]commonly from najef yes i think uh it's very important that we
[41:09]realize that as believers whatever we do should be for the sake
[41:14]of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala so sincerity has to exist in our
[41:17]hearts in our actions we are doing this work for the sake
[41:23]of allah is absolutely essential similarly it's good that we should walk
[41:27]in the state of ritual purity as much as possible you know
[41:30]to be in the state of although as much as we possibly
[41:35]can um is is i also very good to continuously you know
[41:38]be in the state of zikr remembrance of allah listening to that
[41:41]which gets us closer to allah quran even if it's know how
[41:46]madam of the halal bait lectures is is is vital as well
[41:51]uh at the same time you know giving sadaka helping out these
[41:55]mokips you know these people save up for a whole year and
[41:58]you know they want to serve this war so it would be
[42:02]nice to you know sometimes to go and support them to help
[42:03]them even if possible take part in serving the others who are
[42:10]you know love to serve and this is part of the journey
[42:13]of the human being and a true arbit a true servant of
[42:17]the aha bait has to be able to serve others for the
[42:22]sake of allah you know uh you know one of the kind
[42:23]of i was reflecting how to describe for example amir and mohammed
[42:29]peace be upon him and you know it's hard to describe in
[42:32]one sentence but maybe something that could get us on the way
[42:34]is that a man who is deeply in love with his creator
[42:39]and in turn deeply loved to serve his creation and so that
[42:46]we can see manifested on the arba'in walk as people are desperate
[42:52]to express their generosity and they don't want any money they don't
[42:56]want anything other than the fact that the desire of hussein is
[42:59]comfortable and indeed happy the other tips that we need to keep
[43:02]in mind is consideration for others so there are millions of people
[43:06]and sometimes you know we may get agitated angry it's definitely hot
[43:13]this year very very hot this year um and and so you
[43:18]know sometimes we lose our cool because somebody's taking our sport or
[43:22]somebody maybe inadvertently nudged us so something that happened that maybe we're
[43:25]not comfortable with we have to remind ourselves constantly what this journey
[43:28]is about we have to remind ourselves that this journey is also
[43:33]about patience you know in the footsteps of zainab and zainal abedin
[43:37]and the you know patience itself learned from these individuals um so
[43:41]we need to avoid you know shoving engaging in arguments or fighting
[43:48]or spreading hatred or disrespecting people including maharaja and we should certainly
[43:53]avoid in in that sense and we should try to keep the
[43:55]environment clean yes there's going to be unfortunately people throw away their
[43:59]food on the side but we should not do that we should
[44:03]not just follow what people do but rather try to dispose of
[44:05]our food or whatever we have in areas that are specifically you
[44:10]know for rubbish and for garbage if people are watching they're from
[44:13]the us um so we have also to eat moderately and avoid
[44:19]waste there's going to be so much food there's a lot of
[44:22]uh you know moa keeps serving begging people to eat but we
[44:28]shouldn't over consume food and we should not be wasteful as well
[44:30]because quran tells us those who are wasteful are indeed the brothers
[44:38]of um the shaytan walking how do we walk you know there
[44:43]are etiquettes of walking you know quran tells us that you know
[44:49]uh don't walk with an arrogance so to speak you know walk
[44:54]with humility um that's very important for our sisters the dress code
[44:58]of hijab should be fully observed and they should never be uh
[45:05]complacent about this social hijab also unnecessary laughter interaction and so on
[45:10]should be avoided between non-maharam's seeking istighfar you know this is a
[45:16]journey towards hussein towards karbala something we all have sins so it's
[45:23]highly recommended that people uh you know ask toba during that walk
[45:27]they are walking they are in pain their feet is is in
[45:29]agony yet this is something these are steps that allah loves and
[45:34]these are great moments to shed that tear to remember that sin
[45:37]to ask allah for that forgiveness and we mustn't also you know
[45:41]be be somehow uh scared to express grief and sadness over karbala
[45:47]and ashura to remember the masa above imam hussain alaihissalam and to
[45:51]ensure we cry for them too maintaining prayers salah praying and it's
[45:56]time it's key people are walking and there's salah time they should
[46:00]stop and perform the salah and not delay salah at all at
[46:04]the same time we must never forget in those steps to hussain
[46:07]in those steps to the city of martyrdom and the city of
[46:09]freedom and that's karbala we must never forget you know it's likely
[46:20]that he is walking with the zuwara of his grandfather and so
[46:23]we kind of dedicate some deeds for him and pray for him
[46:28]and pray for his uh uh the hastening of his reappearance uh
[46:34]as well and maybe one final point i'll mention and there are
[46:37]so many more but maybe make a pledge to change one thing
[46:39]in one life in one's life you know sometimes we go to
[46:43]these ziara's we go to this walk we feel amazing we come
[46:45]back and then we go back to our old habits if for
[46:48]example god forbid i'm one of those who misses fajr prayer in
[46:52]the walk make a commitment how am i going to keep my
[46:53]fajr namas if for example i'm a person who doesn't wear hijab
[46:58]make that commitment to a hijab if for example i'm a person
[47:00]who listens to haram music let make that commitment in the work
[47:05]you know because there is a much better chance of you adhering
[47:08]to that commitment because you've done it in the walk the walk
[47:10]of the free the walk of liberation the walk of empowerment so
[47:14]allah will bless that inshallah so make that one pledge for self-change
[47:21]to that steps towards allah and you will see a great deal
[47:24]of benefit inshallah i sent them i think really really powerful points
[47:29]i mean those of us who have been to iraq those of
[47:33]us who have been on ziada will know that in iraq the
[47:37]sewage system the waste collection is uh they don't have infrastructure of
[47:42]course like like we have in the western world you know and
[47:46]so whatever little we can contribute because you know we're all going
[47:50]to be drinking that water out of those little plastic cups and
[47:53]once we drink those water from that plastic cups what do we
[47:57]do with that cup it's like one two sips of water right
[47:59]and then what do we do do we chuck it on the
[48:01]floor do we actually go out of our way to find a
[48:05]bin do we hold on to it if we can't find a
[48:07]bin you know these are the small things this is the etiquette
[48:11]i believe sheikh that you're talking about which is so paramount and
[48:16]contributes so much towards our mindset and how we move forward in
[48:19]this journey of love and of course not forgetting our salah not
[48:24]forgetting that you know the opportunity to ask allah azzawajal for forgiveness
[48:30]in these moments is so sacred and so special and so blessed
[48:35]you know it's almost as if our heart is yearning for that
[48:37]in those moments our heart is yearning for that because the environment
[48:41]is such you know you know and and sorry to add one
[48:44]more thing i think quran you know i always emphasize to people
[48:48]that ziaro imam al-hussein walk any ziyarah throughout the whole the rest
[48:53]of the year should never be without continuous recitation of the quran
[48:58]you see on the night of ashura these great warriors these great
[49:03]mothers spent the night in salah and recitation of the quran you
[49:06]know sometimes people forget the quran during they think it's only for
[49:11]the month of ramadan whereas imam hussain alaihi salam gave his life
[49:14]for the quran he is the you know was the walking quran
[49:18]the halal bait are the talking walking quran so as follows of
[49:21]the halal bait we should never ever abandon reciting the quran inside
[49:24]the shrine maybe during walk if we can these days we have
[49:28]our phones and it's easy people say oh you know i might
[49:29]where am i going to get the quran from well it's easy
[49:32]we've got the quran apps we can listen on the way as
[49:36]well i think it brings a lot of benefit perhaps a positive
[49:38]change would be okay am i going to be able to get
[49:42]closer to the quran maybe study on a few chapters maybe listen
[49:45]to a few lectures um and and you know get into the
[49:49]tafsir so it could act as an inspiration but on the point
[49:52]of the environmental element i think it is something we have to
[49:57]really really try to work hard on we've all experienced this year
[50:01]you know uh you know extensive uh heat waves um wherever we
[50:05]have been and this is as a result of what's going on
[50:09]out there you know the the global warming the climate change this
[50:13]catastrophic really sad events that happened in pakistan that we just saw
[50:21]the important work that world federation a is doing and we'd re-encourage
[50:24]support people to uh participate and donate as much as they possibly
[50:30]can those who are going on the arb india for example it's
[50:36]recommended before you travel give sadaqa you know give some sadaqa protection
[50:40]our journey make that sataka for the people of pakistan those affected
[50:43]by the flooding you know what federation aid other charities are all
[50:48]got excellent people on the ground helping those really you know less
[50:52]fortunate people have gone through this unfortunate disaster so environmentally i think
[51:00]the problem sometimes when we go for arbain walk we see everybody
[51:03]doing something and we just do whatever they do whereas we have
[51:07]a responsibility certainly from the west to do what's possible there's no
[51:10]point saying oh well no one's doing it i won't do it
[51:13]either as you said you know you know that water that's left
[51:16]you know hold on to it you know drink it you know
[51:21]dispose of the of the plastic bottle in in the right manner
[51:22]uh and not not just throw it on the side and so
[51:27]on and so forth is a islamic responsibility because allah has given
[51:31]us all this the earth in order for us to thrive but
[51:34]if we abuse it we're abusing allah's favors and blessings so you
[51:39]know adab and are critical yeah and i think also sheikh if
[51:46]we remember as well that the land of karbala is is is
[51:50]owned by by abba abdullah yes it was brought by abraham and
[51:54]never bought or sold after that right and so this land is
[52:01]about spiritually and geographically owned by him yes and so subhanallah how
[52:07]can we you know in our arrogance perhaps or in our ignorance
[52:12]perhaps um bear the idea of of littering and polluting his land
[52:17]and alhamdulillah i think yeah you know i mean you're right and
[52:22]also if you're if you're invited by somebody to their house or
[52:25]to their land you wouldn't go and mess that place up you
[52:30]know if we invited somebody's house usually we take care to ensure
[52:34]that you know that person's house is well looked after you know
[52:37]the land of karbala as you said belongs imam hussain so even
[52:40]in in addition to the etiquettes of being invited by imam alaysalam
[52:44]we should take care for that as well excellent and perhaps chef
[52:48]as we reach the tail end of our discussions perhaps one of
[52:51]the most critical questions that we will discuss today and i love
[52:57]that you mentioned about having that small plan of action pose the
[53:00]other because i think often i know myself certainly had this uh
[53:06]post ziada blues when i came home from ziada you know you
[53:10]feel like a bit of a fish out of water it's strange
[53:12]it's a strange feeling certainly to come back to the reality in
[53:18]which we live our lives after being you know so surrounded by
[53:20]the love of about abdullah al-hussein but it begs the question dear
[53:26]of what are the lessons that we can learn from ziada and
[53:33]then specifically from this ziyarat al-arbayin and how do we go about
[53:37]implementing those lessons do we kind of go big or go home
[53:42]or do we take small incremental steps towards our goals yes i
[53:46]think this is probably the most one of the most important questions
[53:50]for us to ask ourselves before the ziara like you said a
[53:53]lot of people go for ziara and then they come back and
[53:54]they're like okay so it's amazing i feel i'm missing it i
[54:00]didn't want to go back but i think personal change and reflection
[54:04]on the ziara um is one of the hardest things to do
[54:07]because you get so busy in it and you're kind of enjoying
[54:12]an atmosphere to actually sit down and make some notes and reflections
[54:15]is not the easiest thing but it's highly recommended because especially in
[54:20]arabin and other times we get bombarded for example we listen to
[54:25]a lecture we go to a historical place in arba'in for example
[54:29]we meet so many different people experiences we see something in the
[54:33]mokip people these days with their method of documenting it is by
[54:36]putting on instagram or for example taking a picture of it right
[54:40]um which is okay as long as one is able to afterwards
[54:42]sit and think much more than just an image that i've captured
[54:47]enough people i think one one you know important thing for us
[54:55]to ask ourselves before we go is this what do i want
[54:58]to get from this yara because yes this year will bring me
[55:01]benefit the wob in this world and it will improve my life
[55:05]without shadow of a doubt if i go with the right intention
[55:06]and sincerity but what is it that i want to establish what
[55:10]is it that i want to achieve after i come back because
[55:15]you see if we don't have a measure we'll never know how
[55:18]to you know uh assess whether it's a successful visitation or cr
[55:22]or not the other thing we have to ask ourselves is how
[55:26]do i know it's accepted because you know as you we all
[55:28]know i could do my namaste and it could be right correct
[55:32]as far as his actions but it may not be accepted by
[55:36]allah similarly i could go for ziara and he may not be
[55:37]accepted by allah so i need to i need to ponder over
[55:41]these questions i guess what the the one of the some of
[55:46]them some of the main things personally i reflect upon upon the
[55:49]ziara trips is this that one of the main things about is
[55:54]service and you know placing others before ourselves you know serving others
[56:00]making others happy what can i do when i'm back home to
[56:03]ensure that this spirit continues how can i become an ambassador of
[56:08]the walk to karbala by taking part in projects that help humanity
[56:11]to help my community you know today if all of us in
[56:17]all our communities if each and every individual would say i would
[56:20]volunteer at least an hour a week we would be you know
[56:24]we're somewhere really much better than where we are today because every
[56:27]single person believes that they've got to give back to the community
[56:30]for the sake of allah in the spirit of salam so one
[56:35]important area is this the second is okay i have gone for
[56:41]ziara and i have honored these holy individuals how much do i
[56:45]know about them and how much am i going to follow in
[56:48]their footsteps how much knowledge do i have about their halal bait
[56:50]how much knowledge can i gain it's important that we constantly you
[56:54]know in this day and age i'm slightly critical and i know
[56:59]some people won't like what i'm about to say but you know
[57:00]we're not reading enough and we are engaged a lot with passive
[57:07]learning we're not no longer in active learning mode so to speak
[57:09]we don't pick up the books we don't annotate we don't have
[57:11]discussion circles over books you know only those in hausa or in
[57:17]educational establishments have to do it but generally people are not into
[57:22]that anymore or less much less we need to get back to
[57:24]active learning you know really understanding our deen our knowledge you see
[57:28]there's one thing about being amazing you know being inspired by practical
[57:32]tips and personal developments and spirituality that's great that's amazing that needs
[57:37]to happen but at the same time i need to have also
[57:42]strength when it comes to my akida you know i need to
[57:43]know the justice of god if somebody asks me these pakistan floods
[57:49]where is god why is he not stopping them you know where
[57:52]is his justice i can't say um you know what i'll call
[57:56]a mawlana 50 50 ask the audience that doesn't exist right i
[57:59]have to have that illness i have to acquire either inquire study
[58:03]understand the justice of god how it works listen to lectures make
[58:09]notes and so we need to encourage our youth and others to
[58:11]utilize our rain and other ziara trips to be a springboard for
[58:18]learning and also to establish that of the bait through propagating the
[58:23]teachings of the bait to the world with the ideas that we
[58:25]possibly can have in different manners but including for example humanitarian work
[58:30]and improving the lives of others that could also be a means
[58:35]by which we spread the teachings of the bait there as well
[58:40]in in essence um i need to see a positive change in
[58:45]my life i need to come back different person so some people
[58:48]ask how do i know if maisia is accepted well the longer
[58:51]you can keep the positive change for the sake of allah that
[58:53]allah is pleased with the more the stronger your ziyada has been
[58:56]accepted if i continue praying fajr and i don't miss it that
[59:01]means it's a great ziyarah if somebody for example before fajr used
[59:04]to miss it or if somebody for example after ziara decided to
[59:09]be a volunteer in an islamic organization and take part the longer
[59:12]i can do that the more this yara has inspired me the
[59:18]more it's filled my heart with that you know a motivation and
[59:20]light from the beta ascent that's beautiful it's almost as if the
[59:28]way i i interpret what you're saying it's almost as if we
[59:32]have to accept that there there are different dimensions to imam hussain's
[59:36]mission there are different dimensions there is an intellectual dimension and there
[59:40]is an emotional spiritual uh dimension and so we are encouraged to
[59:46]engage both our our heads and our hearts and to align them
[59:52]both on the path of imam and hussain al-islam i think the
[59:55]ziyarat of the remembrance of are almost like shortcuts to be able
[60:03]to do that alhamdulillah and just to mention to the viewers as
[60:09]well things that i've found personally helpful in terms of creating some
[60:13]change in my life post ziada trips i i really enjoy journaling
[60:20]my experiences and and it can literally be you know one two
[60:23]sentences of what i did in that day how did i feel
[60:26]did um i can remember one day i was in com and
[60:30]i was writing in my journal and um a leaf fell onto
[60:34]my journal i was like subhanallah you're really listening to me and
[60:38]then it started raining and there was raindrops on my journal and
[60:43]i circled the raindrops and you know it's moments like that dear
[60:45]brothers and sisters where we feel so connected to allah azzawajal and
[60:48]all we have to do is put in that effort and all
[60:51]we have to do is ask allah subhanahu ta allah ya allah
[60:53]i want to feel your presence in my life i want to
[60:56]feel your love and if we take those small steps towards him
[61:01]then you know the rest he he will come towards us no
[61:03]doubt no doubt in all his magnanimity alhamdulillah and then again if
[61:08]you're not a writer perhaps you prefer to voice note open the
[61:10]record app on your phone and just voice note yourself you know
[61:13]and then also you have options like meditation contemplation all these kinds
[61:19]of things that are you know on the outside don't look like
[61:21]much but truly that reflection i personally believe um and from what
[61:28]i'm interpreting of what sheikh is saying these are the gems that
[61:32]we will take in sha allah from our ziyada trips whether they
[61:36]be during but it's been an absolutely wonderful discussion i have learned
[61:45]so much bless you dear sheikh thank you so much for your
[61:47]time and for your wisdom may allah allow you to continue serving
[61:53]our communities and sharing your wisdom and encouraging us to be better
[61:58]versions of ourselves in sha allah we pray i i pray that
[62:02]all menin may not get the opportunity to visit um the shrine
[62:07]of hussein alaihissalam throughout the year but especially those sisters and brothers
[62:11]who are not able to go this year don't be disheartened inshallah
[62:15]will remember you all in our duas and prayers um you know
[62:20]actions are judged by the intention you know you have a good
[62:24]if you have a good intention to join the zuwar the the
[62:28]uh reward will also reach you this was something that jabber himself
[62:34]said on the day of arba'in he said to his servant ati
[62:36]al-awfi because he was speaking to imam hussain and he said to
[62:39]imam hussain i bear witness that we share your reward and atiya
[62:45]said to him but we never thought we were not martyred um
[62:50]we know we didn't do anything what imam hussain did he said
[62:53]i know my beloved prophet peace be upon him and his family
[62:58]said whomsoever loves the actions of an in a group of people
[63:02]you know uh will be rewarded with their deeds too so you
[63:07]you and i every individual who can't for unfortunately you can't go
[63:10]this year for for some reasons or another that's uh understandable but
[63:14]you know don't despair or somehow feel low whatever you know inshallah
[63:19]you'll be getting the reward and hope and be positive for the
[63:21]future um and you know the the final thing i'd say to
[63:27]all the sisters and brothers who are going remember the motto uh
[63:31]or the the sorry this the slogan hussain and la baker hussain
[63:35]is truly a sentence to really deeply sit in our hearts to
[63:39]motivate us in life to become true husseini to become zaying that
[63:45]be to become abbasi in the footsteps of these great individuals but
[63:48]it means that when i take those footsteps to husain in karbala
[63:53]i need to also get closer to hussain in my morality in
[63:57]my spirituality in my faith so as i get closer in the
[64:02]geographical sense to the shrine of imam hussain alaihi salam i need
[64:05]to also have a plan to get closer to him and ultimately
[64:11]to allah in my life as far as my beliefs as far
[64:12]as my teachings and everything else is concerned for he is the
[64:18]ship of salvation and the lantern of guidance and i pray that
[64:21]allah bless all the sisters and brothers and you know protects you
[64:25]all and please don't forget the not me not suffering around the
[64:28]world but especially the brothers and sisters in pakistan in your arts

[65:09]video of those people in pakistan flooding that has not been seen
[65:15]in years and years and years there are 35 million people that
[65:18]have been displaced that's almost half of the uk's population you know
[65:22]this is unprecedented things that we're seeing and we as shia of
[65:28]ali and of as lovers of our abdullah hussein have an obligation
[65:32]and a duty we have an example and above the line hussein
