[0:00]this real I have a manual FEMA salat wa salam ala sayyidal
[0:05]mursaleen habib allah and i mean a real person Mustafa Muhammad while
[0:09]an elevated plebeian up ahead in Medina what a horror haunted here
[0:19]are solid wood along masala hominem Hamid but which is Audrey was
[0:25]silly and we offer after 10 min listening after Coen para la
[0:28]jolla Vicki terrible karim allah subhanaw taala states in the chapter of
[0:32]a lot of chapter 7 verse 51 he says Dena tougher do
[0:39]Dena home language iben bottom will fire at dunya fellowman and some
[0:48]commonness una caja de una can be a thi dune allah subhanaw
[0:53]taala says in this holy verse he says and those who took
[1:02]their religion as just being something that's unimportant to them they played
[1:10]and and entertain themselves and were beguiled why this life this dunya
[1:17]today Allah says in reference to the day of judgment we will
[1:21]forget them and sound come on necessarily just as they forgot that
[1:28]this theory of judgment will come what my counting we are unity
[1:35]nitride hoon and even though they saw our signs in this world
[1:40]and yet they were disbelieving I'm Anabella so Allah I knew nothing
[1:44]Salaam aleikum o Allah a water captain today the topic of our
[1:52]lecture is will I ever get to my bucket list now the
[2:00]whole idea of a bucket list is very common in the Western
[2:02]world though we might not see see it too much in the
[2:08]Middle East it's extremely common in North America especially and the the
[2:13]term itself was coined out of an adage that says you know
[2:17]when someone kicks the bucket which means when he dies so bucket
[2:22]list is a list of things for one to do before they
[2:24]die now though it might seem quite morbid when you think about
[2:30]it most people in the West they take the idea of a
[2:32]bucket list as a task list of achievements that they would like
[2:40]to achieve before they pass away usually what happens is that this
[2:46]list has some you know outlandish or extreme things that people want
[2:51]to do that might be hard for them to achieve traveling to
[2:54]France or living in a foreign country for example or learning a
[3:02]new language or jumping out of a plane or climbing Mount Everest
[3:07]for example many of these items that exist on the bucket list
[3:13]don't tend to be let's say socially relevant they tend to be
[3:21]more egocentric they tend to be more narcissistic meaning that they tend
[3:25]to be more about me and what I'd like to maybe share
[3:29]with my friends and say what I did and so we find
[3:31]movies and and shows that are specifically dedicated to the idea of
[3:36]achieving bucket lists and how it is that um most people go
[3:42]through their lives not achieving them and once they get to a
[3:46]point where they remember death or they have a near-death experience or
[3:49]they have cancer or they're about to die that the last things
[3:55]that they would do would be to fulfill their bucket lists so
[3:58]they pull out their bucket list and next thing you know they're
[4:01]on a trip or an adventure trying to have one last hurrah
[4:04]so to speak the question is when one thinks of death or
[4:10]is near death or in a state where they fear for their
[4:12]lives many people today feel fear truly for their lives because of
[4:19]the fact that there is a pandemic either they have covered 19
[4:23]or they're facing death in the face every day like our emergency
[4:28]workers such as our doctors and nurses and hospital workers and we
[4:36]find then that many of them as well as many of us
[4:38]who are though we are self isolating and socially distancing it's something
[4:45]that weighs heavily on our minds as well and so many of
[4:47]us we look back and think about the things that we didn't
[4:53]do some of us might be ill-advised and look at the bucket
[4:55]lists that they've made and they say oh I'm never going to
[4:59]achieve this bucket list because now it's an impossibility how am I
[5:02]going to go out how am I going to travel and so
[5:04]on and so forth today I'd really like to address the issue
[5:07]of the bucket list and I'd like to address it from three
[5:12]perspectives from a logical perspective from a psychological academic perspective and I'd
[5:17]like to address it from an Islamic perspective now logically speaking we
[5:23]proved that a loss of hundred unlimited he is all purposeful he's
[5:31]all perfect therefore we have a purpose in this life and we
[5:35]know that our purpose is to show him gratitude for bringing us
[5:39]to this world for choosing for us to exist and forgiving us
[5:43]Worth and so we spend our days and dedicate ourselves and all
[5:48]of our faculties towards showing that appreciation either by showing the appreciation
[5:52]on a personal level or by showing the appreciation by appreciating his
[5:57]creations or by showing our appreciation and when we say appreciating his
[6:03]creations meaning by servitude right we realize them that the greatest goal
[6:08]that should be on our task list of achievements in our lifetime
[6:16]has to be associated with that right that that would be our
[6:20]reference point and once you realize that what happens is we become
[6:23]more socially responsible right we become more grounded in in our needs
[6:27]and our once we don't need access right even though we might
[6:33]want it we don't need it and therefore when we realize this
[6:36]we realized that much of our wealth really if it's excess or
[6:42]extra that we should give it in charity so that others can
[6:44]benefit from it or we give it out in moon so that
[6:47]others can benefit from it that I need not eat more than
[6:52]you know what my caloric needs actually are and that whatever is
[6:55]extra really is not mine logically speaking it becomes my social responsibility
[6:59]to give it to those who are less fortunate and so what
[7:02]happens is the logical perspective brings me to servitude brings me to
[7:10]not spending my time or wasting my time and things that don't
[7:13]bring me closer to my creator on the contrary anything that I
[7:15]see that is rest and relaxation that brings me farther early or
[7:22]takes me farther away from my creator becomes something that I really
[7:26]shouldn't do logically speaking because anything that makes me forget a lost
[7:30]panettone makes me forget my purpose and if I forget my purpose
[7:32]then that won't please my Creator and if I don't please my
[7:36]Creator then I'm not going to get the ultimate reward of being
[7:37]as high graces correct and being rewarded for them so the logical
[7:42]argument then is quite simple we need not linger on it too
[7:47]much what we need to look at next is psychologically because in
[7:51]psychology what they do is they depend on studies they look into
[7:56]the society and into communities and they have case studies they am
[8:06]basically either Paul or they survey or they do experimentation in their
[8:10]labs and the results that they find about humanity whether it's in
[8:15]behavioral psychology or industrial psychology or social psychology this all helps us
[8:22]understand the human condition and why we do the things that we
[8:25]do so when it comes to the issue of bucket lists before
[8:29]we get started it's important to understand a key principle that exists
[8:34]in psychology today and that is called the peek and rule the
[8:36]big end rule was is a theory that is developed that was
[8:41]developed by Daniel Kahneman and Barbara Fredrickson they won a Nobel Prize
[8:47]for their work this 1993 study found that the human memory is
[8:51]rarely a perfectly accurate record of events the research team that they
[8:55]had asked study participants to basically endure uncomfortable situations not dangerous situations
[9:06]just uncomfortable situations and the results and their findings basically were what
[9:12]gave us this peak and rule and the big end rule basically
[9:17]states that it's a that there's a cognitive bias that impacts how
[9:22]people remember past events so usually humans they remember either intense positives
[9:27]or intense negatives right and these are what are called peace and
[9:32]the final moments of an experience the end really then is what
[9:37]is heavily weighted on it's what's really remembered in in why our
[9:44]brain ok that's really what registers so if for example I was
[9:48]to recall let's say in the last I don't know five years
[9:53]of my life right I'm going to remember specific events either events
[9:57]that were extreme troughs lows or events or extreme highs but everything
[10:02]in between is quite inaccurate it's a little shady and blurry okay
[10:08]so now that we know the speak and rule let's look at
[10:17]what you know psychology says and how it uses this then what
[10:21]studies are available okay so now that I understand that the human
[10:25]condition mentally speaking but really is almost programmed to remember the high
[10:30]points and the low points now how are we going to avoid
[10:35]that and what do bucket let's really do so a 2014 survey
[10:37]of 2000 people actually found the average person what's about 16 key
[10:42]dreams that they want to achieve in life and that ranges anywhere
[10:48]from having a holiday abroad to learning to play an instrument to
[10:53]which is haram by the way if you're Muslim um to swimming
[11:01]with the dolphins to you know bungee jumping or skydiving now what's
[11:04]wrong with them right well apparently on the outside it doesn't seem
[11:11]like there's anything wrong with that however what the studies have found
[11:14]is that there are emotional costs that are involved with these wild
[11:21]bucket lists that we make right these experiences actually end up making
[11:27]it making us socially isolated in another 2014 study published in Psychological
[11:30]Science by Cooney Gilbert and Wilson found that while extraordinary experiences of
[11:37]the type that we do cram into our bucket lists may be
[11:43]pleasurable in the moment that we do them they do have social
[11:46]a negative social impact in the long run experts say that we
[11:53]should be really more about meaningful connections and to other people and
[11:58]this is scientifically proven to increase our happiness and and it should
[12:02]be less about inward kind of not Cystic exclusionary goals that possibly
[12:08]lead to feelings of isolation and disconnection as a result so the
[12:16]late Christopher Peterson a former professor of psychology in the University of
[12:18]Michigan said that rather than choosing narcissistic ambitions like getting a tattoo
[12:25]or you know jumping out of a plane he says people should
[12:32]choose items for their task lists that connect them to something larger
[12:38]than themselves okay for example taking the whole family out on an
[12:44]excursion okay in positive psychology the research suggests that you know doing
[12:51]how having goals that are socially kind of inclusive they're more important
[12:57]to a fulfilled life and that's that's what he contends not what
[13:05]he does say is that he has a problem with bucket lists
[13:07]okay or he had a problem with what calluses he's passed away
[13:13]apparently he says that the thing about bucket list is they're not
[13:16]about living they're really about dying okay so usually when people think
[13:18]about a bucket list they think about what they're going to do
[13:24]before they die and he advises he says you should that we
[13:27]should apply stringent criteria when when it comes to what we're going
[13:31]to put on our bucket list he says that for example if
[13:35]you knew with certainty that you were about to die tomorrow right
[13:38]what would you do today today we're in this situation right there
[13:42]is a huge possibility that people can get affected and die so
[13:48]what would you choose would you choose to spend your last day
[13:51]changing your hair color or jumping out of a plane really right
[13:53]he says focus on quality rather than quantity for your bucket list
[14:01]something that really matters and he says apply this whole idea of
[14:05]imminent death he called it the imminent death rule and and to
[14:08]use it as a way to weed out less important goals mine
[14:13]that might be crowding your real life and rich you know quality
[14:19]ambitions and he says choose things that are within your sphere of
[14:25]influence meaning that usually choose realistic goals that are achievable he says
[14:31]you know you should also add small easily achievable goals to your
[14:35]list because it helps to be realistic small achievable goals you know
[14:39]make you feel as though you were able to actually achieve your
[14:42]bucket list as opposed to having you know outlandish goals that are
[14:47]unachievable now let's let's look at what what else there is there's
[15:01]a school of positive psychology right this is really what this is
[15:07]really what Christopher Peterson the professor in in the U of M
[15:12]is associated with and and he says that it's important for us
[15:18]to understand that the way that the human psyche works is very
[15:23]much based on the study of the peak and theory okay by
[15:28]Daniel Kahneman and remember that you're you know you're almost wired to
[15:35]remember the peaks and the troughs he says everything in between becomes
[15:37]blurry so what we need to do is to make sure that
[15:41]you know we kind of manage that right that we don't focus
[15:47]on getting highs because when we get really high highs what ends
[15:50]up happening is we end up having really low lows right but
[15:53]living in a state of kind of a medium is what he
[15:58]advises so what the details may be of one's bucket list then
[16:05]it must be that they are goals that are achievable that are
[16:10]realistic that are socially responsible that are quality as opposed to quantity
[16:15]right and to always keep in mind that you know that the
[16:23]imminent death rule that if you know if this was your last
[16:25]day what would you do with it fine so this was these
[16:30]were really interesting findings as I was researching because when we move
[16:35]on to the Islamic perspective what we see is that for example
[16:38]in the first that we started out within the chapter of the
[16:42]nod off chapter six or chapter seven I should say verse 51
[16:46]allah subhanaw taala says beautifully says and levena tucker duodenum own lava
[16:53]Malaya right well garage Omaha out to dunya he says and those
[16:57]who took their religion meaning their relationship with Allah soprano to honor
[17:01]his his commandments that they took it lightly right they focused more
[17:06]on having fun and playing playing around spending their time just wasting
[17:14]it really and they were beguiled and seduced by this this world
[17:19]and this life and all of the tests that Allah has placed
[17:22]within our path that we spoke about and previously that these became
[17:29]a way that were for our distraction right because you know what
[17:33]low is low is a distraction we you say la jeune FC
[17:38]which means that I distracted myself with this right or I busied
[17:42]myself with this and really became more of a distraction so a
[17:46]lot of character Allah says that people that do this according to
[17:51]this verse he says say Leone Nancy today on the day of
[17:54]judgment you know that we're going to forget them just like we
[17:59]first a forgotten because if we forget Allah Almighty in this world
[18:02]you know in our tasks then what's going to happen at the
[18:07]end we only deserve the same right and if we were heedless
[18:08]than a Lazcano to Allah will also forget us in the year
[18:13]after meaning that he won't engine instead will be suffering in the
[18:15]hereafter right so he says fellowmen and some commonness ooh Luka are
[18:23]you mean Honda llama can we are a teenage herdsmen and because
[18:27]of the fact that they didn't believe in our science right they
[18:30]saw death around them they saw life around them they saw you
[18:35]know people wasting their time they saw opportunities to do good deeds
[18:40]but they were busy they were too busy they said later we'll
[18:45]do it right that fall so una Lemon tabali so the dangers
[18:48]then that caused us to fall into these quantity sort of quantity
[18:56]living as opposed to quality living right is is what we really
[19:00]need to look at what we really need to analyze here and
[19:06]this LOM tells us really clearly that the biggest danger upon humanity
[19:10]is not to take life seriously you hear this all the time
[19:16]you hear people say all you know your tears are too serious
[19:18]you're you're taking a life too way too seriously right the reality
[19:22]is that allah subhanaw taala because he is purposeful and we proved
[19:25]that in the logical argument you know then that means that every
[19:30]single breathing moment of our life has a purpose and if I
[19:32]don't spend it in the way of thanking Allah and dedicating it
[19:34]to Allah then what's going to happen is I'm going to lose
[19:39]out on and that moment will never come back again right so
[19:44]if I do waste that time then time will waste me makes
[19:46]sense if I understand that then that I'm going to ask well
[19:51]what are the things that are going to cause me to waste
[19:53]my time right and then I'll have a discerning eye when I
[19:58]look at things right I'll be more careful you know I'll know
[20:02]what are the danger zones to be able to avoid them if
[20:06]I don't know what the danger zones are where the hazards lie
[20:10]that I won't know how to navigate through them right but if
[20:15]I know that even a blessing that I'm given is a test
[20:20]point that allah subhanaw taala says clearly in the holy quran in
[20:27]the chapter of inside where he mentions that you know keep one
[20:33]thing in mind well I'm not inside with an optimal favorite ramen
[20:37]that you know as for mankind when I lost a Nutella test
[20:44]with plenty right by giving them plenty of sustenance they say oh
[20:49]allah was gracious to me one madam of Telugu for Kara Allera
[20:52]scone they could not be a honey and as for when Allah
[20:57]subhanAllah Allah tightens the sustenance decreases it then that same person doesn't
[21:03]look at him having blessings as a test he looks at him
[21:06]not having enough as a test which is a fallacy because both
[21:12]are really tests right so but while he did receive plenty right
[21:16]he had twenty-four living and plentiful sustenance he lived in excess he
[21:22]forgot at the end of the road that lost honor to Allah
[21:26]gave him this to see whether he's going to spend in the
[21:28]way of Allah or not or he's going to use it for
[21:33]you know having fun right going skydiving or bungee jumping and trying
[21:38]to fill that time with materialistic limited things and so even when
[21:45]he hits those Peaks right he has deep deep troughs why because
[21:51]once you hit that high ok of achieving a limited goal what
[21:54]ends up happening is you don't see what is beyond so you
[21:58]can go climb Mount Everest if you want but once you get
[21:59]to the peak there's only one way to go but down right
[22:03]people like Michael Phelps who reach the height of their career in
[22:07]swimming by achieving so many gold medals the end of the road
[22:13]you know he ended up he ended up literally nose diving you
[22:16]know into drugs and alcohol and losing his sponsorships why because he
[22:22]didn't connect his Bulls with the unlimited Allah subhana WA Ta'ala and
[22:28]so he didn't know where to go after them so setting goals
[22:30]then becomes extremely important for us to do in order for us
[22:32]to reach the goals that allah subhanaw taala wants all of us
[22:37]now islam as we mentioned before is a holistic religion so in
[22:40]order for me to be able to avoid the situation of falling
[22:45]into level and not I have to focus on what is the
[22:50]root cause and Islam tells me what the root cause is right
[22:53]Allah subhana Allah says the tower is the root cause meaning following
[22:59]our women right Allah Allah says well Al hawa for you well
[23:06]you can say will Allah do not follow your whims because it
[23:08]will cause you to deviate to do not follow your winds because
[23:13]it will cause you to deviate from the way of Allah right
[23:15]so then what I have to do is be mindful of all
[23:19]those things that caused me to fall into my whims that means
[23:22]that I have to first and foremost understand myself right my weaknesses
[23:27]imam ali salam ala aalihi says it beautifully he says men are
[23:33]tough enough said Allah followed back that if you know yourself then
[23:36]you will know your Lord when we did the self contemplation and
[23:39]self-actualization we came to the reality that the that the Creator actually
[23:44]exists right and since the Creator exists then we were able to
[23:48]prove that he is unlimited and we were able to prove that
[23:52]he's all perfect and all purposeful and therefore we have purpose look
[23:55]at all these realities we were able to to to get to
[24:00]because of the fact that we look deep into ourselves to see
[24:02]where we fit into this this world once we realize that then
[24:07]we are able to be serious about life right to recognize that
[24:11]this life is all about achieving goals that are connected to gratitude
[24:19]to Allah and appreciation right so once I understand this what ends
[24:24]up happening is I ask my lord I say well why did
[24:28]you create me right so the Quran tells me clearly Allah says
[24:30]no Ali I will do I did not create general men except
[24:36]that they may worship me and you worship allah subhanaw taala as
[24:39]the sign of gratitude right and we already established that logically but
[24:44]allah subhanaw taala tells us that that's exactly why i created you
[24:49]and now he gives us things meaning islamic laws for us to
[24:53]follow in order to chief the full purpose of life and we
[24:56]can only achieve partial goals by realizing yes emulating Allah how he
[25:01]treats everyone that's how it should be right and dedicating my faculties
[25:07]to him but then how do I dedicate and what is the
[25:09]best way to do things that's what I need the legislation for
[25:13]allah subhanaw taala then wants me to understand why I was brought
[25:17]here right Allah says Allah d.holic on motor well my answer Leigha
[25:21]blue akamai you Kumasi nomina and we came to that logical conclusion
[25:26]to that allah subhanaw taala brought us to this world to test
[25:28]us to see which of us has more righteous than his deeds
[25:30]because the one who is more righteous in his deeds right shows
[25:35]a greater manifestation of their belief in allah subhana Dada which means
[25:39]a greater appreciation of Allah as a result and therefore he will
[25:41]receive the greater reward we also know that allah subhanaw taala sets
[25:49]a standard for who would be more endeared to him think about
[25:53]it some the more I love Allah the more I will dedicate
[25:56]myself to him the more I appreciate Allah the more I will
[26:02]dedicate myself to him the more I appreciate Allah the more I
[26:07]will I will exactly the more I appreciate a lot the more
[26:11]I will know his presence in my life the more I will
[26:16]feel his presence of my life the more I will act on
[26:18]that feeling of knowing his presence in my life I don't just
[26:23]feel it this feeling comes from an intellectual process right once I
[26:28]realize that then I monitor myself because I know a lot as
[26:31]monitoring me so by priority what happens is exactly like when I'm
[26:37]at a traffic light and I know that there's a camera there
[26:40]I'm extra cautious on extra careful right I make sure that I
[26:46]follow the law just as if a cop car was behind me
[26:47]as I'm driving right I make sure I maintain my speed limit
[26:51]okay there is no point that a loss of hano tiara in
[26:56]my life leaves like that car the police car leaves so that
[26:58]I can then go back to being heedless there's no point in
[27:01]my life that there isn't a camera where allah subhanaw taala is
[27:04]not watching me right Allah is watching me at all times and
[27:07]therefore there's no room for heedlessness there's no time to waste Allah
[27:12]subhana Allah says look there's only one standard that I look at
[27:17]I don't look at your ethnicity whether you're from Africa or Europe
[27:21]or America or you know Asia I look at one standard allah
[27:25]subhanaw taala says that standard stuff one he says in that trauma
[27:31]command the lieth cochran the most the most gracious in the eyes
[27:37]of allah he says are those who are most aware of my
[27:41]presence and act upon it meaning those who are more respectful and
[27:47]most respectful of me that's what that was that was to respect
[27:52]a law in our lives imagine for example with our parents right
[27:56]when we know our parents are sitting we're extra polite when we
[28:01]know that our parents even aren't there but this wouldn't make them
[28:04]feel happy right any an action that we may do what happens
[28:06]we make sure that we have self-respect our parents teach us to
[28:11]be dignified in to have self-respect and we know that one of
[28:14]the driving factors for that is the fact that you know I
[28:18]feel that sense of obligation to pleasing my parents and to representing
[28:22]them well and really with every action that we do if we
[28:25]look at things that way that we're respecting Allah and then my
[28:29]action is a reflection of the level of respect that I have
[28:32]for Allah subhana Allah then it becomes humbling any time I think
[28:36]about even partaking in an action that may be deemed disrespectful to
[28:42]a loss of hang on to Allah right including jumping out of
[28:45]an airplane senselessly or bungee jumping senselessly right or going out with
[28:50]friends and spending time in vain talk right as opposed to talking
[28:53]about a debate talking about ways to improve society to help those
[28:59]who are oppressed to help the needy right because really that's what
[29:03]we're here for allah subhanaw taala says look in order for you
[29:09]to understand this you have to have a specific mindset and that
[29:16]mindset has to be always that you know this could be your
[29:19]last breath isn't that what um peterson said right he said that
[29:23]think of things always in the mindset that you know tomorrow's your
[29:30]last day right the imminent death our principle or rule so that's
[29:36]what Islam actually teaches us it says that seek refuge in patience
[29:40]or fasting and prayer and surely it is difficult except for those
[29:44]who are who have presence of heart who are God conscious who
[29:48]are they those are the ones who believe that they are from
[29:50]Allah on the tree they shall return what's that I know but
[29:54]somebody else allow a man like a Puritan Allah Allah D nailed
[29:58]or no net no Munna for a p101 naminé here on your
[30:02]own so these are the ones who have the right mindset and
[30:05]that's the mindset the mindset of eminent of imminent death right is
[30:10]exactly the mindset that we're and now Allah is literally forced it
[30:14]upon us so that we wake up we wake up from our
[30:18]heedlessness so that we see the reality of the of our lives
[30:22]we recognized what we missed in opportunities and we understand that tomorrow
[30:26]may never come and that we live in the now and understand
[30:30]that today and right now I must do the righteous feeds I
[30:32]must give in charity I must help those who are in need
[30:36]I must reject oppression and help those who are oppressed right no
[30:43]longer will I be silent about in Justices no longer will I
[30:47]accept mediocrity for surely mediocrity means just sitting back and waiting for
[30:53]things to happen by I don't want to live a mediocre life
[30:58]so how do I not live a mediocre life by divine standards
[31:01]allah subhanaw taala he tells me he says look first and foremost
[31:08]a lot establishes that we have we have a choice in everything
[31:12]that we do he says in solitude and signing says in naka
[31:16]de nom sabina and massacre on one mantra for okay that's number
[31:20]one now to me which means surely regarded him to the straight
[31:23]path either he chooses to following me thankful and grateful or he
[31:26]chooses to veer off the path and deviates and be unthankful and
[31:30]disbelieving then allah subhanaw taala says in the chapter of an aside
[31:36]chapter 4 verse 136 he says yeah you are letting Amon I'm
[31:37]a noob Allah he will say o you who believe I want
[31:41]you to believe in Allah and His Messenger right well kitab and
[31:45]his book and his holy book and living in a Salah allah
[31:49]rasool allah that he revealed unto his messenger well kitab allah d-10
[31:54]and puppey and the book that was revealed before warming up for
[31:57]will lie and he who disbelieves in Allah subhanAllah Malaika T and
[32:01]his angels were caught to be and his books water Sri and
[32:06]his messengers were the omen asked her and the day of judgment
[32:09]for her blog Allah and by either for he has feared and
[32:11]deviated really far so now we understand the deviation really comes from
[32:16]disbelief in all these things so we understand that's the root problem
[32:22]and that Iman really is the solution so I was first and
[32:25]foremost ask Allah subhana Allah to help me gain Iman so I
[32:29]do what any mother tells me to do he says ask a
[32:30]lion don't macadam enough beautiful taught to recite in this holy month
[32:36]he says Allah mobility man yet when le monde oh allah left
[32:39]my level of faith reach its highest levels which are the opinion
[32:42]of alia came and left my certitude my certainty in you reach
[32:50]its highest of levels as well so he says allah mobility money
[32:52]at when Iman were Charlie opinion of literally Aquino Antonia t Dasom
[32:56]Nia or the Ahmadiyya Naaman and make my near the best of
[32:59]intentions and make my actions follow shoot right to be the best
[33:07]of actions so then my a man has and my certainty translates
[33:09]into good deeds you see and a good deed doesn't start with
[33:15]our I mean it has to start with an E and now
[33:18]I'm a little abhinaya to Prophet Muhammad says that there's no action
[33:22]without the intention to do that action I need a good team
[33:27]around me right I need a team of strong pious believers who
[33:30]are going to help me to do good Allah says otherwise you
[33:35]want to be in a state of loss in the chapter of
[33:39]lost of allah subhanaw taala says you need a group that help
[33:41]you tell also will help you a colossal sub that help you
[33:45]that help remind you you know about the truth that you're only
[33:47]here for a limited time don't waste your time like I'm doing
[33:50]things that aren't going to bring you closer to Allah don't waste
[33:54]your time playing in entertainment and and if you're bored then you're
[33:58]not doing the right thing you're not remembering Allah Subhan Allah come
[34:00]on let's go to the mosque come on let's go help our
[34:03]neighbors come on let's see and seek out opportunities to help the
[34:08]elderly right that's what I mean we need to be doing we
[34:10]need to literally be searching out for those searching out those who
[34:16]are in need an imam and ibaka said i Malayalee he describes
[34:18]that if we're not like this what ends up happening is we
[34:23]end up being like the silk one he says method or Harry
[34:25]solid dunya method who do that help us he says the example
[34:30]of a person who is only mindful of this dunya only wants
[34:34]what is within this limited world he says his example is similar
[34:41]to that of this so corn kernel amaz dad that when al
[34:44]Kassadin FC ha la femme Cana Oh God nominal Haru jihad Tata
[34:51]muta Rama he says the more that it would you know be
[34:53]beguiled by this world and imagine the silkworm the more it wraps
[35:00]silk around itself the harder it is to come out of the
[35:02]silk and the and the more likely it is to be strangled
[35:07]and to die and as a result of it right so what
[35:10]ends up happening is we ended up strangling ourselves right with with
[35:16]entertainment and time wasting and losing out we end up spending time
[35:19]in quantity as opposed to quality as Peterson said but this remember
[35:23]Peterson only died recently right modern psychology has only discovered this recently
[35:30]we in Islam have had this from 1400 years ago our Imams
[35:34]our holy book was revealed to tell us these and they explained
[35:39]to us how to get to everyone and allah subhanaw taala doesn't
[35:42]leave it up to chance so before we go into the verses
[35:47]that help us understand how to be a believer in in my
[35:49]mind he said I'm a lolly he says it beautifully to tell
[35:53]us you know what is the result of us wasting our time
[36:00]he says look Cheryl Cheryl Malloy ya feelin alive says look the
[36:03]worst thing that you can do the most evil thing that you
[36:05]could do with your life with your lifespan here's what is suspended
[36:11]in plane and entertainment he also says leader allow the inoculum to
[36:20]Aqaba 'then Vitello he says look just divorce leave this idea of
[36:29]spending your time right in distractions right he says for surely we
[36:37]were not created for distraction meaning that and he uses the words
[36:42]out the word a bathin which means purposeless distractions right he says
[36:48]you weren't created purpose without purpose so that you spend that time
[36:52]distracting yourself right trying to fill that void with entertainment he says
[36:58]well I'm to attraction then fatale ooh he says and you weren't
[37:04]left without guidance right so that you can live your life and
[37:06]vanity now how is it that I can achieve then and what
[37:11]is it that should be on my quote/unquote bucket list allah subhanaw
[37:14]taala in the chapter in what we know and he says it
[37:18]beautifully is that's got that flat mom you know he says look
[37:19]successful are the believers that's what we want we want success in
[37:21]this life right we want a task list that makes us successful
[37:27]socially as well as personally as well as in the hereafter right
[37:31]that's the whole goal in Islam tells us this beautifully 1400 years
[37:37]ago it gives us a list says listen your goal is to
[37:39]be a believer in Allah believers in allah do the following he
[37:42]says Allah Dina who fears Allah I am harsh on those are
[37:47]the ones who and their prayers they are God conscious that's number
[37:50]one - he says well those are the ones that don't partake
[37:56]in vanity they don't partake in vain glory they don't partake in
[37:59]doing things without a purpose whether it's in talking or in action
[38:02]or in deeds well lady norm is a cat if I know
[38:06]those are the ones who are socially responsible and know that in
[38:09]their wealth there is a portion that specifically needs to be given
[38:12]to those who are in need and then he says you number
[38:20]four he says well Latino before Jim perfect their private parts our
[38:23]private parts are there for a purpose to be used in a
[38:27]way that allows them wants us to use them to procreate the
[38:31]Halal way right tab good decent God loving children right and to
[38:34]be able to to fulfill whatever desires that we have but with
[38:37]our spouse right Allah Allah Allah Allah says except when it comes
[38:42]to their to their spouses allah subhanaw taala says that that's halal
[38:46]further Oh mommy look at a man one phenomenal man you mean
[38:49]that he says and those that don't do so feminine delicate like
[38:56]him those who don't um safeguard their privates those are considered the
[38:59]enemies of Allah all right and then he says well Medina holy
[39:04]Amana team number five those are the ones who keep their covenants
[39:07]and promises and when they're entrusted with something they're they are trustworthy
[39:11]and finally he says well Adina whom Allah Jalla WA team you
[39:16]have it he says no other those are the ones who make
[39:19]sure that they and pray on time make sure that they're mindful
[39:25]that they schedule everything around their prayer thing because your prayer is
[39:30]your meeting with Allah it is what centers you during that day
[39:34]right it is what centers us during the thing now if we
[39:36]understand this then what ends up happening is we realize then that
[39:43]allah subhanaw taala truly has not left us to them right allah
[39:47]subhanaw taala has given us purpose he's giving us our own bucket
[39:50]list of what we should do and we should follow it we
[39:53]ask allah subhanaw taala to accept what little we offer in this
[39:56]holy month for surely he's given us the ability to achieve many
[40:01]goals in this month right we make dua for him we raise
[40:03]our hands to him and we say o Allah make us as
[40:05]you want to be not as we want to be make us
[40:09]worthy servants of purchase or a Malayalee and let us only live
[40:11]meaningful lives let us focus on quality Allah and not quantity so
[40:19]that we can be a great reflection of a true worshipers that
[40:23]you and you alone wants us to be we ask that allah
[40:28]subhanaw taala bestows health upon the sick but Allah repays the deaths
[40:31]of all those in death but Allah removes the oppression all those
[40:34]who are oppressed that allah subhanaw taala returns all those who are
[40:37]estranged to their families and releases all of the innocent prisoners we
[40:42]ask that allah subhanaw taala bestows his mercy upon our dearly departed
[40:45]that he supports all those that have made programs like this pascal
[40:49]around the world after the unendurable and I mean Oh Sally Arabella
[40:53]Sedna Mohammad Reza Pahlavi no I mean al-fatiha la ilaha illallah Muhammad
[41:01]a la semana
