[0:00]my dear brothers and sisters Elders Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala created us

[0:16]brought us into this world gave us all the basic necessities and

[0:25]did things that are beyond our comprehension created this universe that is

[0:36]so expansive and so large so big that we simply can't wrap

[0:41]our heads around it we throw around numbers about there being 200

[0:51]billion galaxies then scientists come along and say no no it's actually

[0:58]not 200 billion it's two trillion galaxies and that each Galaxy contains

[1:05]200 billion on average stars then you have the comets and the

[1:08]asteroids and the planets and you have the black holes and you

[1:13]have the Pulsar stars and you have all these things that we

[1:17]cannot even begin to imagine we can only prove their existence through

[1:26]mathematics it's all a theoretical exercise all of this was created and

[1:33]as far as we can tell there are no other intelligent species

[1:40]around no extraterrestrials at least not any that we know of and

[1:46]so it makes you think it makes you wonder he created all

[1:53]of this so that on this tiny little blue dot that can't

[1:57]even be seen outside of of our solar system let alone our

[2:04]galaxy let alone from the farthest edge of this universe so what

[2:08]so that when you and I look up and say those who

[2:22]Ponder and contemplate over the creation of the heavens and the Earth

[2:26]what do they then say once they've pondered even for a few

[2:31]seconds Oh Our Lord you did not create all of this in

[2:37]vain there is purpose behind it there is design behind it there's

[2:43]a Creator who brought all of this into existence sub exalted art

[2:51]thou so prevent the fire from reaching us do not burn us

[2:58]in the fires of Hell meaning that once you've engaged in this

[3:02]retrospection and contemplation you can't help but be completely overtaken and overwhelmed

[3:13]with the glory and Majesty of Allah subhanahu wa taala which immediately

[3:19]translates in this sense of perhaps fear but maybe a better description

[3:28]of that feeling is trying to seek nearness to him if you

[3:31]created all of this and there was design and purpose behind it

[3:37]so please protect us help us guide us we don't want to

[3:40]end up on the wrong side of your wrath I don't want

[3:46]to do something that would anger a god that is this powerful

[3:50]I don't want to live my life in a manner that displeases

[3:56]him in this verse and at the end of this statement it's

[4:02]a natural progression you're in awe from his creation once you've pondered

[4:06]then you contemplate further you say there must be design there must

[4:11]be a purpose then after that you're like oh Allah protect me

[4:17]save me and the way to save us the way Allah subhah

[4:24]wa ta'ala has designed the system that you and I can find

[4:28]and Achieve our salvation is by guiding us to the things that

[4:33]please him and the things that displease him in other words in

[4:39]order for us for us to reach that destination which is to

[4:45]achieve the pleasure of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala our creator we need

[4:50]software tools and we need hardware tools tonight I don't want to

[5:00]talk about the hardware aspect the vehicle that you use in order

[5:04]to reach that ultimate destination of being a slave of Allah subhanahu

[5:09]wa ta'ala that is the greatest honor that we can achieve because

[5:16]being a slave of God means you free yourself from the shackles

[5:21]of everything else being a Ab of Allah subhah wa taala means

[5:24]that you are not beholden to all of the other false masters

[5:29]of this world I think it was YF who said to the

[5:38]cellmates he said which is better having literally my boss my wife

[5:45]my husband my children my neighbor the people around me all those

[5:49]who go to my social media page having them as my masters

[5:53]all of these different Masters who have different desires different interests they

[5:57]all want different things from us or having just one master and

[6:05]one master who cares about me and my welfare more than anybody

[6:12]else everybody else wants me for themselves right exactly every single person

[6:16]even a mother this is an example that they usually give a

[6:22]mother loves you for you but even a mother loves you because

[6:25]you're her son not that there is anything wrong with that it

[6:30]makes others better than everyone else but ultimately everyone wants me for

[6:36]them I am if I surrender to their will if I give

[6:43]into what they want from me if I as a man become

[6:47]a slave to my wife's wishes and desires one day she wants

[6:50]this the other day she wants that we have a Hadith in

[6:56]fact that says cursed is a man who obeys his wife the

[6:59]prophet is then asked Y in what way obeys his wife as

[7:04]in buy her a gift every once in a while look after

[7:09]her protect her the prophet says no it's a man who says

[7:12]yes to everything his wife says his wife wants to go to

[7:18]weddings where Haram is committed he's a yes man whatever you say

[7:20]honey wherever you want to go whatever you want to do the

[7:27]prophet specifically mentions weddings and funerals because even funerals sometimes are used

[7:34]for Haram and Haram ends women go there or even men and

[7:39]there is sinful act taking place whether it's slander you know the

[7:45]the the social interactions that happen says cursed is a man who

[7:49]does this and cursed is a woman who obeys her husband when

[7:56]it comes to sinful Behavior I've heard from women who say that

[7:59]my husband doesn't want me to wear the job he wants me

[8:03]to be a trophy wife he wants me to go out there

[8:05]and show myself and reveal some skin so that he could boast

[8:11]in front of his friends that this is my wife that woman

[8:14]is also cursed a man woman child elderly whatever the case might

[8:22]be wherever in your journey you happen to be our Master should

[8:26]be none other than Allah subhah wa tala it's him that we

[8:30]serve it's him that we obey and it's him that we seek

[8:37]salvation from so we need a vehicle to reach that ultimate destination

[8:40]of being a slave of Allah and therefore King of the entire

[8:45]world the hardware aspect the vehicle the means is not what I

[8:51]want to talk about tonight I want to talk about the software

[8:53]aspect what's the software that we need to reach that destination it

[8:59]is is a road map we need to have the foresight to

[9:08]know which direction we should take is it North is it South

[9:13]is it East is it West who do we emulate who do

[9:21]we follow who tells us how we can achieve the satisfaction of

[9:26]Allah subhah wa tala the software application that allows you to navigate

[9:34]to your destinations on a daily basis gives you a very clear

[9:38]map and often if you make a mistake or if you deliberately

[9:44]choose not to follow the directions that you've been given it says

[9:47]you've made a mistake you're supposed to go in that direction you're

[9:52]going in the opposite direction and so it might try to reroute

[9:56]you or it might just say do a yourturn because this is

[10:03]a dead end it's a no through Road you have to turn

[10:06]around there's no other way you've missed your exit on the highway

[10:12]you'll have to travel another 5 miles 10 miles whatever the case

[10:15]might be and then turn around yeah you've wasted 20 minutes but

[10:19]that's what you have to do if you want to get to

[10:23]your destination if you want to just keep driving for the fun

[10:26]of it fine but if you're trying to reach a destination you

[10:29]have have a deadline you have an appointment you have a Magus

[10:35]you have a lecture you can't just keep driving because you happen

[10:38]to be driving a nice car and just want to enjoy the

[10:42]views you have to turn around and so Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala tells

[10:50]us the direction we need to take but even that is not

[10:58]enough what we need is to know which direction to take and

[11:04]which direction or route not to take I mentioned an example about

[11:10]a week ago in the Magus I said imagine if you're traversing

[11:13]or hiking through a jungle it's not enough to say that you

[11:17]should walk in this direction by using a compass it has to

[11:24]be a lot more specific than that it has to be about

[11:29]exactly which hiking trail to to take which Pit Stop to use

[11:35]where to rest which Valley to avoid which river has a bridge

[11:42]that you can use to cross it because there are no paved

[11:48]roads are there in a jungle and if there is a hiking

[11:55]trail usually it's only one or two that's what people have been

[11:58]using for a long time so so those with knowledge of which

[12:01]Trail you need to follow they have to be much more specific

[12:07]than saying this Trail because they have to allow you to avoid

[12:12]all the wrong routes if you take the wrong route you might

[12:17]end up in a place with beasts and vicious animals that could

[12:24]devour you and kill you you could end up in a place

[12:26]where you get injured you could end up in a place where

[12:32]you get lost you might fall into a cave or a well

[12:35]in other words the greater the level of danger the more critical

[12:42]it becomes to clearly identify the trail the path the route and

[12:48]also identify all the other dangerous paths that you should never take

[12:55]now we live in this Maze of a world it is confusing

[13:02]at times it is treacherous it is dangerous it's filled and riddled

[13:11]with Impostors who come to you claiming that they are the guide

[13:18]who can help you navigate your way as famously stated he said

[13:28]for every truth they have prepared a falsehood as an alternative and

[13:35]for every straight path they have created one that Strays away but

[13:42]the way it's presented to us isn't as clear cut is it

[13:48]I wish I wish mua had come and said that's it we

[13:57]want to worship just like our ancestors and forefathers and my parents

[14:01]I wish he had spoken like that that would have made it

[14:08]so much easier but as we said last time I was here

[14:11]Allah subhah wa ta'ala adds a degree of complexity and difficulty to

[14:16]the tests that we're subjected to because that's the nature of this

[14:23]world if the test was too easy everyone would pass you couldn't

[14:27]tell apart those who are smart and hardworking and who have put

[14:32]in the hours and done their homework from the ones who basically

[14:41]waste their lives and don't put in the work if the test

[14:44]was too easy you couldn't tell them apart so the test has

[14:50]to contain a degree of complexity it has to be a little

[14:53]harder so that you could make that distinction so that the teacher

[15:02]could say see that person put in the hard work this one

[15:04]didn't and so this one graduates this one flunks so mua doesn't

[15:12]come along and say that I wish to restore idol worship and

[15:17]allow people or force them into acquiescence instead he comes along and

[15:25]orders people to recite the aan from every minat allahar allahar and

[15:34]while in secret he would tell his friend that I will not

[15:42]rest until I bury the name of this man and he abuses

[15:48]the holy prophet with something I don't want to mention he curses

[15:53]the prophet insults him he says this man's name is raised at

[15:57]top the minettes five times a day I will not rest until

[16:05]that name is buried but in public he didn't do that he

[16:08]didn't say any of those things in public it was all about

[16:12]it was about Islam and its ideals and values so number one

[16:20]because Allah subhah wa ta'ala adds a degree of complexity to tests

[16:26]number two that is how Shan uses deceptive and submersive means to

[16:33]get to those who are naive those who are uneducated those who

[16:41]are stupid those who don't see beyond the tip of their nose

[16:44]and will follow literally anyone and we see many of those people

[16:49]in this day and age so many people whose intellectual prowess and

[16:59]uh capacity is in incredibly low incredibly low that literally anyone can

[17:05]push them around in any direction they want they never put in

[17:09]the effort they don't think they don't use their intellect and so

[17:14]they end up becoming disposable human beings in the hands of anyone

[17:20]who wishes to use them for their nefarious purposes so this religion

[17:27]is one that identifies the right path to take but also clearly

[17:36]tells you which one to avoid Allah subhah waala says in the

[17:46]Quran this person if you wish to hold on to a rope

[17:55]that is firm and that does not get severed halfway through this

[18:02]hole that we're trying to climb out of then you have to

[18:09]have both of these elements one and interestingly enough the first is

[18:16]you need to identify the false deities reject them and disassociate from

[18:26]them then believe in Allah subhah wa tala and at that point

[18:30]point you can safely hold on to the Rope because you've identified

[18:34]it it's this rope not this one or that one which may

[18:37]look similar but is completely different and then Allah says this will

[18:45]never sever you're on the right path you're going to be okay

[18:49]that's why we need to have in addition to the of the

[18:57]is critical to our religion if had come and instead of saying

[19:07]he said Allah Allah I mentioned this example Allah Allah so what

[19:15]that's an extra God next to all the hundreds of other false

[19:18]Idols that are resting on the Kaa or inside the Kaa you

[19:24]can add yours to the mix nobody has a problem with that

[19:27]the problem they had was the began with the negative he said

[19:36]there is no other God except Allah subhanahu waala all of these

[19:44]Idols are false they should all be thrown out they should be

[19:47]destroyed they should be disowned they should be cursed because there is

[19:55]only one God and it's Allah subhana tala that's why they had

[19:58]a problem with otherwise they did approach the prophet and say look

[20:02]we'll give you whatever you want you want your God you can

[20:06]keep your God you want your gold you want your women you

[20:08]want your Authority we'll give you whatever you want just leave our

[20:10]Gods out of it leave them out of it Live and Let

[20:19]Live Love for all and hatred for none you know this philosophy

[20:26]no if you don't draw a clear distinction between the false deities

[20:34]and the one that must be obeyed people will be confused I

[20:41]mean imagine the fact that is sent to quell a rebellion led

[20:54]by Malik who's Malik the compan were sitting around the holy prophet

[21:01]the messenger of God looked at them and he said if you

[21:05]want to see a man who he's one of the people of

[21:10]paradise then observe who's going to step into the Masjid from that

[21:17]gate so they all looked who's this person this beduin walks in

[21:25]says so he comes in he prays meets the prophet then he

[21:30]goes number two runs behind him he says to him Yik said

[21:39]that you are bless me let me shake your hand let me

[21:42]hug you he said well if I am from the reason for

[21:50]that is one thing and that is the fact that I follow

[21:55][Applause] that's my only virtue which is the ultimate virtue but that's

[22:07]the reason otherwise I know myself I'm not a man who's like

[22:12]the ultimate when it comes to prayers and fasting my word's not

[22:15]his maybe I'm not the best among you when it comes to

[22:18]those minor things important but minor what is the major reason that

[22:30]identifies this sinful slave who's not worthy of being from it is

[22:35]because of my love towards you want to be blessed don't run

[22:53]this man leads a rebellion against the khif and the Rebellion wasn't

[23:01]an armed Insurrection it wasn't some military challenge against him it was

[23:04]very simple we have zakat to pay I'm sorry I'm only going

[23:12]far as I'm concerned you are not the legitimate successor of remember

[23:20]two months ago we all gave to who to who the hell

[23:37]there initially he pretends to be a guest he's there with his

[25:49]one who fought against and the Muslims of course and now all

[25:55]of a sudden he is the sword of God other words whatever

[25:59]he does is correct and I would never put it back into

[26:02]its sheath I would never reprimand KH for what he's done yes

[26:13]investigation and we've reached the conclusion that it was a not minor

[26:18]mistake but it's not something that would rise to the level of

[26:28]reprimanding or punishing this great man of God the reason so many

[26:33]people are confused is that they can't tell truth from falsehood light

[26:41]from Darkness right from wrong they can't tell them apart and the

[26:45]reason they can't tell them apart is that their is too weak

[26:49]they don't have any sense of any sense of disassociation and now

[26:56]we're living at a time where we have people who say who

[27:02]needs let's just stick to the let's talk about the greatness of

[27:08]sure but is problematic what if someone hears us what if someone

[27:15]finds out then it's going to cause a rift it's going to

[27:17]cause schisms it's going to do this it's going to do that

[27:21]and I just spent two or three nights in F speaking about

[27:28]speaking about the importance of not revealing everything that we believe in

[27:32]so don't assume that I'm saying should be violated that we should

[27:36]be speaking out in public and saying everything that we want but

[27:41]as a matter of principle at its core in its Essence that

[27:52]means having this condemnation towards evil in my heart in my own

[27:57]heart and in the heart of my family and my children sub

[28:01]that also needs to be shut down if you shut it down

[28:07]you will never be able to tell right from wrong alkari mentions

[28:10]a Hadith or Muslim I forgot which one he speaks about the

[28:19]Battle of uhab the trenches and the Hadith is heavily redacted and

[28:28]I talked a little bit about the whole process of redaction that

[28:31]bukari resorts to in his book he was a master redactor but

[28:36]the Hadith I want to mention is is different tonight so he

[28:39]tells the story he says that was about to uh rather this

[28:47]is the Battle of wanted to uh conquer the the uh Fortress

[29:01]of and so he said that I'm going to hand the standard

[29:04]over to a man who loves Allah Allah loves him and this

[29:11]man is going to go and he's going to conquer fair enough

[29:17]then he calls he gives him the standard the Imam goes and

[29:25]he conquers it sounds a bit dodgy though doesn't it it feels

[29:29]like there's something missing from the equation and what's missing is the

[29:34]negative part it's the part when you hear this as someone who

[29:41]adheres to this school of thought the school of bukari and Muslim

[29:47]you hear it and you're like wow masah ALB he he really

[29:50]did it he pulled it off kudos to him but the truth

[29:58]was different the truth was the holy prophet first said who's going

[30:03]to do this number one says I'll do it he comes sends

[30:09]him with a contingent of people soldiers they go then they come

[30:13]running back tells the whole story he adds the part to the

[30:24]equation he says they came back imagine you have a general and

[30:30]when the Army Retreats the soldiers say that hey our general was

[30:37]too timid he was scared a general we've come to know you

[30:49]and we've seen and we've seen real true authentic generals and they're

[30:54]always the tip of the spear they're the first person to charge

[30:58]towards the enemy but this guy he wants to stand behind and

[31:02]tells us to go forward means they they were saying again don't

[31:09]shoot the messenger he's saying that his soldiers were saying he's too

[31:14]much of a coward and in return He was saying no they're

[31:18]the cowards they were reciprocating accusations of cowardice then Allah says well

[31:27]you were no good who's going to do this number two comes

[31:31]along he sends them he comes running back even faster than the

[31:37]first one again his soldiers were saying he's too much of a

[31:43]coward what kind of a general is this has he even lifted

[31:48]a sword in his entire life it doesn't look like it and

[31:51]he was saying no they're the cowards but of course a general

[31:57]doesn't say that my soldiers were cowards because when you head into

[32:01]battle whether your soldiers or cowards or not you have to fight

[32:05]because you're the leader and if it means you getting killed that's

[32:08]what you do you don't run back you don't retreat what a

[32:16]shame what a shame anyway then says see if you redact this

[32:21]if you remove it what happens is was you know pretty brave

[32:27]but when you add the fact that others attempted this Mission and

[32:32]failed so shamefully and miserably suddenly The Bravery of alali shines subtly

[32:41]Al Talib isn't just another Brave man among lesser brave men suddenly

[32:48]Al is the only Brave person this is statement is beautiful isn't

[33:02]it it's almost like there's only one sword and that's there's only

[33:09]one young Warrior and it's these are the words of so says

[33:15]to the day night before the holy prophet says tomorrow I shall

[33:23]give the standard to a man [Music] even if we didn't have

[33:43]that segment about the two deserting their positions and fleeing the battlefield

[33:48]is telling them the difference between Ali and literally everyone else is

[33:55]that he keeps marching and charging forward I can Arrow all the

[33:59]way until he either conquers the enemy or gets killed trying and

[34:05]he's not going to run away there's a hint for all of

[34:13]you who read Muslim and bukari he's not going to run away

[34:16]why would the prophet say this had there been no one who

[34:20]ran away from Battle the Hadith says again in their own sources

[34:27]it says we couldn't sleep that night trying to figure out who

[34:32]this person is you might laugh about this and you might think

[34:38]well it's pretty obvious who I mean no prizes for guessing but

[34:44]was [Music] Ill the Imam had an infection in his eye it

[34:51]was very painful the Imam says I've had this infection since I

[34:56]was a child and it had flared up so everyone kind of

[34:59]dismissed am and they're thinking is it me could it be me

[35:04]and for the life of me I can't imagine how even those

[35:09]two would still think that it might just be them but hope

[35:14]as they did and then the next morning says where's my sword

[35:24]where's my shield they say he's he said bring him they brought

[35:33]him took a tiny amount of his blessed saliva and he rubbed

[35:39]it on the imam's eyes restoring his eyesight removing the pain and

[35:44]the inection then he handed the standard over to him and he

[35:50]said to him there's no one else the same thing happened again

[35:58]what just did is what he said basically through his actions and

[36:04]through his actions they made it crystal clear that Ali and no

[36:08]one else was capable of this Mission not that Ali was the

[36:14]most capable and someone else was less capable and so he just

[36:17]happened to be there and so Allah said you know what you

[36:20]do it no no no no no the same thing happens inab

[36:27]again if you get into the detail of the story says look

[36:33]at did something in the Battle of which was truly humiliating he

[36:41]kept saying my voice has gone horse I've been screaming is there

[36:52]no one to come and fight me that's humiliating that's terrible and

[36:59]meanwhile what is doing he's saying who's who's going to step up

[37:05]and fight with him I will guarantee Paradise for him in one

[37:11]Hadith the holy prophet says who will go fight him and I

[37:16]will appoint him as my successor he'll be myif all these incentives

[37:25]being provided by all these incredible rewards that the prophet is offering

[37:30]even went to the extent that he said don't you claim that

[37:36]if you kill me you'll go to you will achieve Victory obviously

[37:40]but if I kill you you will go to paradise for crying

[37:44]out loud you believe in an afterlife I don't even believe in

[37:50]an afterlife so what's the worst that can happen if I kill

[37:53]you yeah you will go straight to the paradise that you believe

[37:56]in come come yeah says who will go imagine you have a

[38:05]bird sitting on your head you'll try not to move the slightest

[38:08]bit you probably will stop breathing everyone's head is bowed down they

[38:15]try not to shake lest that gesture be mistaken BYO as offering

[38:22]to do this and volunteering for the mission everyone's seated down why

[38:29]does do this why does then when stands up the first time

[38:35]say to him you sit down this is we're talking about so

[38:42]that keeps giving the chance to other people to literally Expose and

[38:49]disrobe themselves for the cowards and hypocrites that they were I've talked

[38:56]at length about this in a different lecture and I've also explained

[39:00]why some people might say well where was Amar where was Salman

[39:07]where was Abu and my response was that they were different from

[39:11]the Hypocrites these ones they didn't step up because at the end

[39:16]of the day because was known as The Warrior who would face

[39:23]off with a thousand men and beat them and defeat them they

[39:29]didn't want to uh do something that would be seen as perhaps

[39:37]cutting it short they didn't want to be the reason why Muslims

[39:41]would be disheartened and humiliated they knew they'd be killed and that

[39:47]would have been a form of defeat for the Muslims it's almost

[39:54]like if you're told that you can go and um perhaps let's

[39:57]say play a soccer game with the Brazilian national team you probably

[40:03]wouldn't even attempt it because if you got back and you've been

[40:05]beaten 30 to zero it would look really bad it would humiliate

[40:13]the community right so it's not that they were cowards they just

[40:16]didn't want to fall short of this incredible Mission but there were

[40:20]the Hypocrites and the Hypocrites being who they are they didn't move

[40:27]the slightest bit sits down at the command of the holy prophet

[40:32]calls out again who would go and fight and I will guarantee

[40:37]Paradise for him the Imam stands up again the holy prophet tells

[40:41]him to sit down again the third time when the prophet told

[40:46]him the IM responded by saying I am Ali if he happens

[40:55]to be and surely has heard a thing or two about The

[41:00]Bravery of in he's heard a thing or two about this Legend

[41:07]who singlehandedly defeated entire armies am knows this which is why he

[41:13]then engages in this conversation when he tells the Imam you are

[41:19]the son of Abu Talib Abu Talib was a friend of mine

[41:20]I used to see you in his lap I would hate to

[41:24]see you die you've got older uncles he literally says to him

[41:27]you have uncles go send them I don't want to see you

[41:31]dead I feel uh Petty towards you who's a Sunni commentator on

[41:39]he says even though he told the IM that I'd hate to

[41:40]see you killed but by God he was afraid of Al he

[41:46]knew who Ali was and he was just looking for a cop
