[0:02]for the souls of all of the and especially the in the
[0:09]recent days.
[0:11]Please recite Alhamdulillah.
[0:52]Allah in Allah.
[1:36]Holy sh for the love of Allah and his holy household.
[1:54]>> We live in probably the most comfortable time humans have lived.
[2:04]We have access to travel.
[2:06]We have access to the internet, to AI, to the most sophisticated
[2:15]and most advanced medicine that humanity has reached ever since humanity.
[2:23]Probably all of the resources that we have right now are some
[2:31]of the things that we have right now people maybe 50 years
[2:36]ago or a 100red years ago did not even dream of, did
[2:40]not even imagine.
[2:40]Yet we have all of that.
[2:45]Especially we who are living in the west now.
[2:50]Many of you know people that are living in the Middle East
[2:56]that are suffering.
[2:57]But in this society, people have all of the resources and access
[3:04]to living a very comfortable life.
[3:08]Yet when we look, we see that there are many people that
[3:15]are not happy.
[3:15]We see that there are many people that are living with anxiety
[3:22]and stress and lack of comfort and a sense of restlessness.
[3:28]In fact, about 1ifth of the people that live in the United
[3:36]States deal with some sort of anxiety and restlessness and stress.
[3:41]And sometimes this could get very severe where some end up hurting
[3:48]themselves or hurting other people.
[3:50]And this is a reality that many people have.
[3:55]Now what is stress and what is anxiety?
[4:01]Stress is a response that the body and the brain has towards
[4:10]things that are not in your control, things that are out of
[4:16]the control of the brain of the body.
[4:19]The body responds by releasing adrenaline and cortisol which are hormones that
[4:27]make the person become more reactive and ready to react.
[4:33]So you see the blood pressure goes up, you see a person
[4:36]becomes a little bit more tense and that feeling that's stress.
[4:42]So stress is a reaction that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has given
[4:48]every person.
[4:46]It is a mechanism.
[4:50]Stress in itself is not evil.
[4:52]Stress is a mechanism that the body goes through in order to
[4:56]react to things that are not in a person's control.
[5:01]When things are going that are not really comfortable, a person senses
[5:05]danger.
[5:06]The body starts releasing the adrenaline and the cortisol as a mechanism
[5:11]to protect yourself.
[5:13]Now having stress in itself is nothing is not wrong because this
[5:20]is a protective mechanism that Allah subhana wa ta'ala has given every
[5:25]single person.
[5:24]When does it become a problem?
[5:28]It becomes a problem when a person is always going through stress.
[5:34]Imagine a building has an alarm system.
[5:37]This alarm system it's necessary for the security of those who are
[5:42]in the building.
[5:44]If there's an intruder, if there's a potential danger, the alarm system
[5:49]is supposed to go off.
[5:49]It becomes a problem when the alarm system is easily triggered or
[5:53]when the alarm system is triggered over nothing.
[5:57]You always hear the alarm going off then it becomes a problem.
[6:00]The alarm system in itself is not a problem.
[6:04]It becomes a problem when it becomes so sensitive that it begins
[6:07]to trigger very quickly or it's always going off then it becomes
[6:13]a problem then you say I don't want to have this alarm
[6:14]anymore otherwise having that system of stress and anxiety that is something
[6:22]that Allah subhana wa ta'ala has given every single person as a
[6:27]mechanism to protect yourself when things are not going your way when
[6:32]when there's harm coming in your way.
[6:34]So the problem is not stress in itself.
[6:37]The problem is the lack of control of stress or when a
[6:40]person is easily stressed.
[6:44]When a person goes through issues that easily trigger these the stress
[6:49]response that a person goes through and every single one of us
[6:53]we have what stresses us, the stressors, what triggers us.
[7:00]Some people either because of their finances, some people because of an
[7:06]illness, some people because of a relationship problem, some people because of
[7:11]the news that they're hearing.
[7:12]The news that we are hearing right now, it's not good news.
[7:17]It's causing everyone to live on anxiety.
[7:18]It's causing everyone to live in very tense and very stressed life
[7:24]because you don't know what's going on and you have no control
[7:27]of what is going on.
[7:31]So ultimately stress is caused by things that are not in our
[7:35]control and what we like to do is we like to take
[7:39]control of things.
[7:39]I like to take control of matters, take control of affairs so
[7:45]that I will not be living a stressed life.
[7:48]So what do we do when things are not going in our
[7:50]control?
[7:50]We try our best and we struggle to take matters into our
[7:54]control.
[7:55]But here's the question.
[7:58]Am I going to be successful in doing that?
[8:01]Am I always going to have control over everything?
[8:03]Am I always going to be in control of all of the
[8:07]matters and all of the circumstances that I deal with in life?
[8:10]The answer is no.
[8:13]We try our best to be in control so that we are
[8:18]not living an anxious life.
[8:18]But the reality is we can never be in control of everything.
[8:25]In fact, I'm not even in control of myself.
[8:26]I don't have authority over my heartbeat.
[8:28]I don't have authority over my kidneys.
[8:31]I don't have authority over the blood, the respiratory system, and all
[8:35]of the systems that are operating in me.
[8:37]I don't have control over anything.
[8:38]I live my life in an illusion thinking that I have control.
[8:44]An illusion of wealth, an illusion of power, an illusion of stability,
[8:49]when in fact I don't have anything.
[8:53]One small bacteria could knock me down.
[8:57]One small virus could knock down a whole nation, a whole global
[9:01]community.
[9:02]We saw what happened during CO.
[9:04]A virus that cannot even be seen by the naked eye.
[9:09]It brought the world to a standstill.
[9:12]What does that mean?
[9:12]That means that as much as I try to be in control
[9:18]of everything in my life, I will never be in control.
[9:24]That's it.
[9:22]That's a reality.
[9:24]And there are many that talk about this.
[9:27]One hadith from he says, "The son of Adam is a msk."
[9:34]Poor miserable person thinking that they have control of everything.
[9:39]One mosquito could come and bite you and then it causes you,
[9:46]it disturbs your sleep.
[9:46]It causes you pain.
[9:50]One mosquito, one weak mosquito could come and ruin your life for
[9:57]you.
[9:55]By a choke, you die.
[9:59]One choke, it could kill a person.
[10:02]And one sweat could make you stink and stench.
[10:06]And then this human being thinks that they have control of everything.
[10:11]They think that they have control of their life.
[10:12]And they want to have control of your life.
[10:15]I don't have control over my life.
[10:17]I cannot control what's going on in this dunya.
[10:21]I cannot control what's going on in this world.
[10:25]And because I want to be in control and I'm not in
[10:27]control, then I become stressed.
[10:30]Then I become more anxious.
[10:31]Then I become more upset.
[10:33]In aith he says Allah subhana wa ta'ala spoke to David and
[10:44]he told he tells him you want something and God wants something.
[10:54]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala wants something and nothing will happen except that
[11:02]which Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala wants.
[11:11]If you submit to what God wants, if you go with God's
[11:18]schedule, with God's plan, I will give you what you wanted as
[11:22]well.
[11:30]But if you don't submit to God's plan, I'm going to make
[11:35]you chase this dunya, chase your schedule and your plan, and you're
[11:37]going to keep running after it, running, running after it, running after
[11:40]it.
[11:40]And then at the end, what's going to happen?
[11:42]What God wants is going to happen.
[11:45]So here we we need to come to that realization.
[11:49]We need to come to that understanding.
[11:59]Everything is under the power.
[12:01]Everything is under the control of God.
[12:03]I should not stop acting like a fool and thinking that I'm
[12:09]in control of this dunya, thinking that I'm in control of what's
[12:13]going on.
[12:15]And when we act like we are in control but things don't
[12:19]go in our way, what ends up happening to us?
[12:22]We end up becoming anxious.
[12:23]We end up becoming upset.
[12:26]We end up becoming angry.
[12:27]We end up getting upset.
[12:27]And this is life.
[12:30]We get upset because we want something that Allah subhanana wa ta'ala
[12:34]has not even written for us.
[12:36]We want something that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has not even given
[12:39]us.
[12:39]And in the process of wanting things that are not for us,
[12:45]what do we do?
[12:45]We're going against the wave and we begin to let go of
[12:53]our priorities.
[12:55]We stop doing our waj.
[12:56]Maybe we start hurting ourselves.
[12:58]We start questioning the will of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[13:01]We start questioning why is God doing this?
[13:03]If I see someone for example comfortable, I start talking about this
[13:07]person.
[13:08]I become jealous of this person.
[13:09]I want my life to be perfect, but I cannot have my
[13:13]life be perfect.
[13:15]And I get upset and I start doing things that take me
[13:18]out of my responsibility and my core.
[13:21]I start skipping what I'm supposed to do and I start doing
[13:26]secondary things in order to achieve that which God has not even
[13:30]written for me.
[13:30]So this stress of being in control, it makes us do things
[13:37]that are sometimes wrong.
[13:37]It makes us do things that are sometimes hurtful.
[13:41]I want to secure an income.
[13:43]This income has not been written for me.
[13:45]So I go and I try to secure it in the haram
[13:47]way.
[13:48]I want to, for example, have a relationship with someone.
[13:50]That relationship is probably not working for me.
[13:53]Then I come and I force myself.
[13:55]I come and I do things that are probably not good for
[14:01]me.
[14:01]and then I end up causing a problem for myself.
[14:03]So here my dear brothers and sisters, we need to come to
[14:09]the realization that number one, we are not in control of our
[14:13]affairs.
[14:14]Allah subhanana wa ta'ala has given me a responsibility.
[14:16]Allah subhanana wa ta'ala has given me certain things that I am
[14:20]responsible for.
[14:21]I need to do what is waj on me.
[14:23]I am not responsible for what's going on in the world.
[14:27]I am not responsible for things that are beyond my control.
[14:30]And if I do not accept that, I have two options.
[14:35]Either I keep going against the wave and keep living that illusion
[14:42]that I'm in control, but I'm not really in control and I
[14:46]end up disappointing myself and hurting myself.
[14:48]Or the second option is I submit to Allah subhanana wa ta'ala.
[14:56]I give the wheels to the one who knows how to drive.
[14:58]I give the wheel to the one who knows how to plane
[15:03]to fly the plane and I submit to Allah subhanana wa ta'ala.
[15:06]Our problem is that we are not willing to submit to Allah
[15:11]subhana wa tala.
[15:11]We think we're in control but in reality we're not in control.
[15:17]The easiest solution is to have that on Allah subhana wa ta'ala.
[15:21]Who has been who has been there for me my whole life?
[15:23]Has Allah subhana wa ta'ala ever left me?
[15:26]Allah has never left me.
[15:28]My food has been coming to me, my resources, my risk, everything
[15:31]has been there for me.
[15:32]Why do I assume that I'm in control and then I go
[15:36]and do things that take me out of my responsibility and I
[15:41]end up skipping what I'm supposed to do.
[15:42]Instead, let me just surrender to Allah subhana wa ta'ala.
[15:47]Let me leave the matters that are not in my control to
[15:49]Allah subhanana wa ta'ala.
[15:53]And here Allah says in the Quran, the one that has on
[16:05]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will create an off-ramp,
[16:11]an exit for you in a way that you did not even
[16:16]imagine.
[16:20]And Allah will give you the risk and the sustenance from a
[16:25]way that you did not even imagine.
[16:27]And then Allah subhana wa ta'ala says in the Quran in the
[16:33]same verse those who rely on God they have on Allah.
[16:39]Allah will take care of your matters.
[16:47]God is in control and Allah subhanana wa ta'ala has placed a
[16:53]destiny for everything.
[16:54]Allah subhanana wa ta'ala has written everything.
[16:58]So I need to worry about what is in my control.
[17:03]I should not be worried about what is beyond my duties, beyond
[17:07]my control.
[17:06]Because when I try to worry about things and I try to
[17:11]take control of things that are not in my control, I end
[17:15]up stressing myself.
[17:14]I end up missing out on my responsibilities.
[17:17]I end up not doing what I'm supposed to do.
[17:21]Let me worry about myself.
[17:21]And Allah subhana wa ta'ala has given me every day I have
[17:25]a few responsibilities.
[17:26]I have a responsibility to pray.
[17:28]I have a responsibility to have a healthy relationship with my parents.
[17:32]I have a responsibility to take care of my own responsibilities.
[17:35]I'm not responsible for what is beyond me.
[17:38]Let me do what I'm supposed to do.
[17:40]Let me fulfill the waj.
[17:40]Let me stay the away from the haram.
[17:43]Let me take every day one day out of a at a
[17:47]time.
[17:47]I don't need to be worried about tomorrow or next year or
[17:49]five years from now.
[17:52]Take everything one day at a time and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[17:55]will take care of you.
[17:58]And Allah subhanaa tala takes care of us every day.
[18:01]But we don't realize it.
[18:02]Doesn't Allah send me my risk every day.
[18:04]So why am I worried about finances?
[18:06]Doesn't Allah subhana wa ta'ala give me a heart that beats every
[18:11]day?
[18:11]If that day, if today my heart is beating, what does that
[18:13]mean?
[18:14]That means today I'm living.
[18:15]Allah subhana ta has written life for me.
[18:18]Why should I worry about tomorrow?
[18:19]Now of course this does not mean having does not mean that
[18:24]I let go of my responsibilities and I don't care about I
[18:28]become reckless and irresponsible.
[18:29]No, this is addressing those who worry too much.
[18:34]This is addressing those who have too much anxiety and too much
[18:37]stress about tomorrow.
[18:38]I'm not responsible for tomorrow.
[18:39]Let tomorrow come and then tomorrow I will deal with my responsibilities.
[18:45]There was a man and this is a hadith that is mentioned
[18:50]a story that is mentioned by the imams of the B and
[18:55]Bah mentions the story.
[18:55]He says that there was a man in an area called Jabal
[19:02]Lubnan.
[19:02]So maybe some of you are familiar with that area.
[19:04]This is of course before Islam.
[19:10]This man was aid.
[19:09]He was a worshipper and he used to have his risk and
[19:16]his sustenance sent to him every day.
[19:18]All he would do is he would pray and then when he
[19:22]finishes his prayer he sees that Allah subhanana wa ta'ala in some
[19:25]way or another has sent him his food for that day.
[19:30]his meal every day would come to him.
[19:32]And this is how risk is.
[19:33]Says risk is two types.
[19:41]There's one type of risk that you have to chase and there's
[19:43]another type of risk that chases you.
[19:49]It comes to you.
[19:48]So this man every day he would pray and then he comes
[19:52]and he sees his food.
[19:53]Alhamdulillah.
[19:55]One day Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala wanted to test him.
[20:00]Is this person truly a believer or is this person in it
[20:06]for the comfort once life becomes a little bit challenging once things
[20:10]don't go your way then you see that some people leave and
[20:13]we mentioned they worship God on the edge meaning they're on the
[20:23]fence.
[20:22]This man, he prayed and then he looked, he saw there was
[20:27]no food.
[20:28]So now he's wondering where's my food?
[20:31]Allah sends me my food every day.
[20:33]The next prayer he prays the whole time his stomach is growling
[20:37]and instead of concentrating on his prayer, what is he thinking about
[20:42]now?
[20:43]He's thinking about his food.
[20:47]He did not wait very long.
[20:48]He did not wait another day.
[20:49]He did not wait another prayer.
[20:52]He was living on the top of a mountain where he had
[20:57]the security and every and he he was living in in a
[21:02]comfort.
[21:00]Beneath him there was a neighbor who was a kafir a neighbor
[21:06]who was against God.
[21:06]A neighbor who did not believe did not practice and was publicly
[21:13]against God.
[21:12]This man because his rk did not come to him one day
[21:17]he ended up leaving his home and he goes to that kafir.
[21:21]He goes to that non-believer and he tells him, "Give me food."
[21:24]And the kafir, he comes and he gives him two pieces of
[21:30]bread.
[21:28]He takes these two pieces of bread and he is ready and
[21:35]about to walk back home and a dog, a dog who was
[21:41]around the neighbor's house, the kafar's house, comes and begins to growl
[21:46]and bark at him.
[21:46]So, he becomes very scared of the dog.
[21:48]The dog was very hungry.
[21:51]He becomes very scared of the dog and he throws one piece
[21:53]of bread to silence the dog and the dog eats the bread
[22:00]really quick and begins to bark at him once again.
[22:05]And then he begins to yell at the dog and he he
[22:06]gets so scared he throws the second piece of bread to the
[22:10]dog and he tells him, "What kind of an ungrateful dog are
[22:12]you?
[22:13]You I gave you a piece of bread and you want another
[22:17]piece of bread." and he gave away the second piece of bread
[22:22]and he became very angry.
[22:23]The hadith says that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[22:30]allowed the dog to speak to the man in a way sending
[22:32]him a message and the dog tells him you're calling me ungrateful.
[22:38]I guard this man's house.
[22:43]Sometimes days pass and he does not feed me.
[22:47]But I don't leave his house.
[22:48]I stay at his house.
[22:49]I stay loyal.
[22:51]I don't leave.
[22:53]And you had your food delivered to you every day.
[22:54]One day your food did not come to you and you go
[22:58]to the kafir.
[23:00]You go to the non-believer.
[23:01]This story has a very big meaning.
[23:05]My dear brothers and sisters, it reminds us of our human nature.
[23:12]We want to worship Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala when everything is comfortable.
[23:15]But when things are not going our way, some of us we
[23:19]question, some of us we leave our faith, some of us we
[23:25]turn against Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and we stress over this dunya.
[23:30]And because sometimes because we're so worried and consumed with the comfort
[23:37]of this dunya, we end up doing things that bring us away
[23:39]from Allah subhana tala.
[23:40]We end up going to the non-believers.
[23:44]We end up changing our ways.
[23:46]We ourselves might not believe.
[23:46]We might not practice because we're worried about our sustenance.
[23:49]And this is how stress and anxiety could drive some people to
[23:56]do that which is haram.
[23:56]But when you have Allah subhana wa tala, when you have the
[23:59]on Allah, when you have that full reliance on Allah subhanahu wa
[24:06]ta'ala, even your vision and your goals in life are going to
[24:10]be different.
[24:09]Now my goal in life and my vision of what is successful
[24:14]in life is different from what other people see.
[24:17]Those who do not have Allah subhana tala in their life their
[24:20]vision of success is a materialistic vision.
[24:22]And when they don't have it which no one has it people
[24:25]have it for for a very short time and then it's taken
[24:29]away from them.
[24:31]Then they become upset and they become anxious and they become angry
[24:35]and they ask why is this happening to me?
[24:38]But when you have Allah subhana wa ta'ala, when you have that,
[24:41]when you have that reliance on God, then your vision of success
[24:45]becomes different.
[24:46]It's not a materialistic approach anymore.
[24:49]Now your vision of success is how could how could I guarantee
[24:53]that God is pleased with me?
[24:54]How could I guarantee that my income is haram?
[24:57]How could I guarantee that I'm raising my children in a way
[25:02]that is pleasing to Allah subhanana wa ta'ala?
[25:03]Because that is the ultimate success.
[25:06]Not them driving this car or wearing this clothes or having this
[25:13]or that.
[25:12]That's not real success.
[25:14]That's what the non-believer sees as successful.
[25:18]But the mman sees success as something that is very different.
[25:21]And that is why the mman is not bothered easily.
[25:26]The mmin is not bothered easily.
[25:28]Why?
[25:29]Because the mman is not chasing what the kafir is chasing.
[25:32]The mman is not chasing this dunya.
[25:35]The m knows that this dunya I should just take from it
[25:40]just enough only what I need.
[25:41]I don't need to take more because this dunya does not last
[25:43]for anyone.
[25:45]And then your vision of success, your vision of failure changes.
[25:51]Now my vision of success becomes something totally different because God is
[25:55]in the equation.
[25:56]Now when God is in the equation, I don't see success as
[25:59]what the kafir sees.
[26:01]The kafir all they want is this dunya.
[26:03]They don't see anything other than this dunya because they don't believe
[26:07]in anything other than this dunya.
[26:08]While the mman sees that there's something much greater.
[26:11]This dunya is a place of test and it comes to an
[26:16]end and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is putting us through a trial.
[26:21]My goal is not this dunya and then my goal becomes something
[26:26]that is much greater and then my vision of success changes.
[26:29]This is why was able to say I did not see anything
[26:38]other than beauty because her vision of what is success is something
[26:41]very different than the vision of Yazid and all of those.
[26:47]When Allah subhana ta is in your heart when God is in
[26:49]the equation then you look at life completely different.
[26:53]Your life perspective becomes different.
[26:56]So then your stress level and your anxiety level is going to
[27:01]be much less.
[27:00]A second reason why many people go through anxiety and stress in
[27:08]their life is because of people.
[27:10]There are some people you see them two miles away and your
[27:13]heart starts you you you feel nervous and you feel anxious because
[27:17]of them.
[27:18]You know some people they walk around with negative energy and they
[27:22]end up hurting other people either through their words or through their
[27:27]actions or through what they say.
[27:28]And this is a problem that many of us deal with.
[27:33]Many people deal with dealing with other people.
[27:35]This is probably one of the most difficult tests that people deal
[27:39]with.
[27:39]Some people they say I don't have a problem with my life.
[27:41]If Allah has tested me with an illness, if Allah has given
[27:45]me this much income, I live in this house, I live in
[27:49]this area, I'm okay with it.
[27:50]But there are some people, they're like a snake, they're like a
[27:53]scorpion, you know, they come and they keep trying to hurt you.
[27:55]They keep trying to bring you down.
[28:01]And this is something that many of the ah many of the
[28:03]prophets of Allah subhana ta Allah describes this is what they have
[28:06]to deal with.
[28:08]prophets that God sent to guide people, to help people, to support
[28:11]people.
[28:12]They were they were tested with the harms of other people through
[28:19]the tongue of other people.
[28:20]Some people through their tongue, they could stab you much worse than
[28:26]if they were if they were to physically hit you.
[28:28]And says the stab and the wound of a tongue penetrates much
[28:38]deeper than the stab of a spear and a sword.
[28:42]And you see talking about stressors, things that cause you stress.
[28:46]Sometimes it's other people what they say and what they do.
[28:51]Toxic people, hurtful people.
[28:52]Look at the prophets of Allah subhana wa tala.
[28:55]Prophet Zakaria was accused and attacked.
[28:59]Prophet Yaky was attacked and killed.
[29:03]Prophet Isaam, Jesus, Prophet MS, all of the prophets, they used all
[29:12]forms of harassment and abuse to sall.
[29:16]Prophet Musa Alisam is mentioned the most in the Quran and he
[29:24]dealt with all types of difficulties and challenges.
[29:26]One of those who turned against Prophet MS was a relative of
[29:32]Musa Kun is mentioned in the Quran.
[29:34]He was close.
[29:36]He was from the ummah.
[29:38]He was from the community of Musa.
[29:39]But he became extremely wealthy and he got very upset.
[29:45]Why is MS telling him that he has to give zakat?
[29:49]So he started creating slander about prophet Musam.
[29:54]He goes and he pays a lady.
[29:58]He tells her, the hadith says he pays a lady.
[30:01]He tells her, I want you to come in public while Musa
[30:03]is speaking to the masses and I want you to accuse Prophet
[30:10]Musa of committing adultery.
[30:11]So one day prophet MS is sitting with his people.
[30:16]He's talking to them and he tells him oh Mus tell us
[30:22]about the what is halal and what is haram.
[30:24]So MS says you have to do this and do this and
[30:25]do that and stay away from adultery.
[30:28]Tells him and what if it's you who committed adultery?
[30:34]MS says me?
[30:35]He says, "Yes, there's this lady here that is accusing you of
[30:41]adultery." Musam.
[30:42]He looked at the lady.
[30:44]He tells her, "Do you swear to God that I have committed
[30:46]adultery?" The lady right away she said, "Karun paid me money." Right
[30:52]away she said, "Karun gave me money and he told me to
[30:56]say this." Musam became very upset.
[30:59]He turned to God and he said, "Eli, I'm your prophet.
[31:05]I'm I'm a m I pray.
[31:06]I fast.
[31:07]I do all my waj but people are talking about me.
[31:12]Can you please stop them from talking about me?
[31:13]Allah subhana wa ta'ala tells him, "Ya Musa, you're asking something that
[31:18]even I don't have.
[31:19]People talk about God all the time.
[31:20]You want you want some type of immunity that even God does
[31:27]not have." Allah tells him, "Be patient." Here MS he became very
[31:31]upset and he did dua.
[31:32]Allah subhana wa ta'ala tells him do with them whatever you want.
[31:38]He did a dua that the earth begins to swallow and begin
[31:42]to suck in and the people who are with him.
[31:46]So he says, "Oh earth, suck him in." It became like a
[31:52]quick sand and they started sinking in it.
[31:55]They sunk to their knees and they begin to cry, "Ya Mus,
[32:01]ya Mus, please have mercy on us." And Mus says, "Ya, oh
[32:03]earth, take him in." And it goes to their stomach.
[32:08]And they begin to beg, ya, mus, yah mus, please forgive us.
[32:14]And he says, until they were swallowed.
[32:17]Here there's an interesting hadith which reminds us about the mercy of
[32:24]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala where Allah subhana wa ta'ala tells him they
[32:35]turned to you and they began to beg you but you did
[32:39]not answer them.
[32:44]Allah tells him, "But if they had turned to me, I would
[32:49]have answered them." And this shows us that in times of stress,
[32:52]in times of difficulties, in times of challenges, who should we turn
[32:56]to?
[32:56]Turn to Allah subhanana wa ta'ala.
[32:59]If you turn to Allah, Allah subhanana wa ta'ala will cleanse and
[33:05]remove the difficulties and the challenges from your heart.
[33:09]The heart is is a is a it has feelings.
[33:12]This is why we say Oh the one who turns the heart
[33:19]put peace in my heart put tranquility in my heart give comfort
[33:24]to my heart and if we pray for that Allah subhanana wa
[33:27]ta'ala will give it to us but when it comes to toxic
[33:34]people in our lives when it comes to people that are hurtful
[33:40]when it comes to people that cause pain there's a very simple
[33:44]solution That solution is let go of them.
[33:49]Leave them.
[33:47]Do I have to have toxic friends?
[33:49]Do I have to have friends that annoy me and bother me
[33:53]and every time I see them I have to go and take
[33:57]a blood pressure pill?
[33:56]Do we need to have that?
[34:00]Some of us we want to have bad friends and then we
[34:02]want to complain about the bad friends.
[34:04]Leave them.
[34:05]It's as simple as that.
[34:08]There's a in psychology class they give a an example an experiment
[34:16]where there's a jar.
[34:16]The jar has some sweets and treats in it.
[34:20]And they come and they put this jar in front of a
[34:26]monkey and the monkey it puts his hand the monkey puts the
[34:29]h its hand in the jar and it grabs it grabs the
[34:34]candy or the sweets and then the hand goes in the the
[34:38]tip of the jar is very small.
[34:39]So the hand goes in like this.
[34:41]But when the when the monkey grabs, he creates a fist.
[34:44]And then he wants to take his hand out of the jar,
[34:46]it doesn't come out anymore.
[34:49]And the c and the monkey keeps panicking and crying and yelling
[34:53]because he's unable to take his hands out of the jar.
[34:57]He's not willing to let go.
[34:57]All he has to do is let go and the hand comes
[35:01]out of the jar.
[35:00]But if he's not willing to let go, the hand will not
[35:04]come out of the jar.
[35:04]This is how it is with us and bad friends.
[35:07]We are not willing to let go.
[35:09]There are some relationships that are not worth it for you.
[35:14]Not worth the headache, not worth the stress, not worth the anxiety,
[35:17]not worth the pain, not worth the regret that we deal with
[35:20]on the day of judgment as a result of these bad friends.
[35:24]Think of them.
[35:26]There are some groups of friends when we sit with them, all
[35:31]that comes out of it is backbiting, gossip, and then we don't
[35:33]gain anything.
[35:34]And then we go on the day of judgment, Allah is going
[35:36]to ask me about that.
[35:38]Allah is going to tell me what were you doing that day
[35:41]talking about this person eating the flesh of a person by talking
[35:44]about them and this is what gossip is.
[35:48]So it's very easy if there's someone that is causing you stress
[35:55]causing you anxiety try to let go of them.
[35:58]There are some groups of people in our lives that we cannot
[36:00]let go of.
[36:02]I know some people here in America teaches you that even if
[36:04]your parents, let go of them.
[36:07]Even if it's your brother, let go of them.
[36:09]Even if it's your family, let go of them.
[36:13]No.
[36:10]In Islam, if it's a stranger, if it's a friend, if it's
[36:15]someone that is not related to me by blood, I could let
[36:19]go of them.
[36:19]Who cares?
[36:20]But if it's my family becomes haram, disconnecting with a family member
[36:26]that you share blood with, this is haram.
[36:29]So what do we do in this case?
[36:33]In this case, you have to try your best to bring peace
[36:37]and bring a solution to the problem.
[36:41]Now, it doesn't mean that I have to hang out with this
[36:44]person every day, but I should not disconnect with them as long
[36:46]as I do not fully disconnect.
[36:50]Maybe I check up on them once a month, once every once
[36:52]in a while to see if they need anything.
[36:55]I don't need to make it so close and I don't need
[36:59]to totally disconnect with this person.
[37:01]And the Quran and the teachings of the B teach us how
[37:08]to also change a toxic relationship into a positive one.
[37:14]Not every relationship should remain toxic all the time.
[37:17]Not every relationship should always be a reason for difficulties and challenges.
[37:24]Sometimes you could change it.
[37:25]Sometimes maybe one good deed, maybe one good action, it will change
[37:30]that negative relationship into a very positive one.
[37:34]Look at the people of Mecca, the people of Quraysh, they despised
[37:39]the prophet.
[37:41]They saw him as the worst possible person.
[37:42]But Allah through his ways, through his through his demeanor, he managed
[37:48]to change enemies into friends.
[37:50]And this is what the Quran teaches us.
[37:53]The bad deed is not equivalent to the good deed.
[38:05]Repel evil with good.
[38:08]It will turn a feeling, a relationship of animosity into a relationship
[38:13]of love and compassion.
[38:15]That is also possible.
[38:18]And one of the greatest solutions to dealing with stress and anxiety,
[38:24]especially in dealing with people, sometimes there are some people or there
[38:28]are some things that are stressing us in life that are not
[38:34]in our control.
[38:36]Allah subhanana wa ta'ala teaches the prophet.
[38:36]Allah teaches many verses in the Quran, God is talking to the
[38:44]prophet.
[38:43]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala over 10 times in the Quran instructs the
[38:51]prophet to have to have patience.
[38:53]Sometimes the solution is that's it.
[38:56]I just have to have patience.
[38:56]I need to be patient.
[39:00]And look at these verses.
[39:01]They tell him be patient and do something else.
[39:07]And this one Allah subhana wa ta'ala tells him be patient.
[39:14]Allah the same way the prophets had to be patient.
[39:20]Do not be like those who were not patient.
[39:23]Which prophet?
[39:23]There was a prophet that was not patient.
[39:25]Allah says in the Quran do not be like like Ununice.
[39:35]He ran away.
[39:37]He left his people and ran away.
[39:38]Allah tells the prophet be patient.
[39:46]And do not rush.
[39:50]Everything comes in its time.
[39:50]Everything has its own.
[40:00]Sometimes there are people that are hurting you.
[40:03]Don't worry.
[40:04]This dunya on the day of judgment will feel like it was
[40:07]it will feel like it was one hour out of a day.
[40:13]In another verse, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tells him, "Do not let
[40:24]those who do not believe unsettle you." Be patient and do not
[40:28]lose yourself.
[40:29]Sometimes when I see someone hurting me, I also lose myself.
[40:33]I become angry.
[40:34]I start doing things that are wrong.
[40:37]No, I have to remain keep my composure, be my who I
[40:41]am.
[40:41]Allah will judge me for who I am and Allah judges them
[40:43]for who they are.
[40:47]In another verse, Allah tells him, Allah tells him, "Be patient and
[41:06]for what they say and glorify your Lord before the sun rises
[41:15]at time.
[41:14]And before it sets, remember Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and in the
[41:23]middle of the night remember Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and the parts
[41:30]of the day.
[41:30]Then you will find relief.
[41:33]Then you will find that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will give you
[41:37]that soothing feeling when you remember Allah subhana wa ta'ala.
[41:41]This is why when we say we have to pray five times
[41:44]a day, this is the greatest blessing in our life that we
[41:49]have to pray because when I pray, prayer is like po pouring
[41:51]cold water on a heart that is full of fire.
[41:55]It helps it relieves you.
[41:56]But we need to understand the meaning of the prayer.
[42:00]And finally in another verse Allah says, Allah says, "We know what
[42:16]they say to you hurts you and it constricts your heart.
[42:20]So glorify glorify and praise Allah subhana tala.
[42:25]Remember God's blessings upon you.
[42:28]Say alhamdulillah.
[42:30]Even when you're going through difficulties." Even when you're going through difficulties.
[42:34]This is the sentence that we say in any circumstance.
[42:40]Even if someone died, we say alhamdulillah even when you go through
[42:49]difficulty say alhamdulillah because it could always be worse and he tells
[42:57]him be from those that prostrate to Allah subhana wa tala do
[43:04]sujud you know our stress and the anxiety it takes place in
[43:09]the preffrontal cortex.
[43:09]This is the front part of the head right behind your forehead.
[43:14]So there's a reason why when we do sujud, Allah subhana ta
[43:19]tells the prophet do sujud and you will feel better.
[43:23]Try it.
[43:25]Try it and you will see that sense of grounding that sense
[43:28]that even if the whole world is against me I have Allah
[43:33]subhana wa ta'ala and if I have Allah then I should have
[43:35]no stress I should not be worried because Allah subhanana wa ta'ala
[43:41]is with the Allah we ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to bring
[43:51]us the relief during these difficult times that the um that the
[43:55]Muslims that the followers of the B specifically are going through, we
[44:01]ask and we pray for the relief from Allah and everything is
[44:04]in the hands of Allah.
[44:04]If Allah wants to bring us the relief now, Allah could do
[44:09]it.
[44:10]And if Allah wants to put keep this test going so that
[44:12]he rewards us, he elevates us for our patience, then Allah also
[44:19]knows what is best.
[44:18]We pray for the We do dua for those who are in
[44:23]need of dua especially during these nights during these nights of Ramadan.
[44:26]This this is the time to do dua my dear brothers and
[44:30]sisters.
[44:31]This is the time to do dua.
[44:32]This is the time to have that where we lose we forget
[44:39]everything.
[44:38]Nothing can help you.
[44:41]Nothing could save you except Allah subhana ta.
[44:45]When we actually have that feeling and that that conviction then we
[44:49]will be able to see results inshallah.
[44:53]Let us raise our hands in dua.
[45:05]foreign for Ramadan.
[46:01]for Allah.
[46:31]Islam.
[46:41]Allah I remind everyone that tonight there is going to be a
[47:13]lunar eclipse and is a full lunar eclipse.
[47:18]It starts around 3:00 a.m.
[47:19]and it lasts all the way until 7 a.m.
[47:22]So anytime during from the beginning until the end, you have to
[47:30]do salat ayat is a two prayer.
[47:32]In each there are five.
[47:33]So five times you go down do and then get up, go
[47:38]down and you go up and you recite in each and another
[47:41]surah and then you do the and then you stand and then
[47:46]you recite and another surah and then you do and you stand.
[47:49]You do this five times after the fifth you go down to
[47:54]and then you repeat the process in the second and this is
[47:58]ayat.
[47:59]This is ayat.
[48:01]It is waj.
[48:01]It is waj because this is a full eclipse.
[48:04]It's not a partial eclipse.
[48:08]It is obligatory upon every person.
[48:09]We ask Allah subhana wa ta'ala to bless you all.
