[2:44]is about depression how do we deal with our depression so let's
[2:50]welcome chef after allah allah allah mohammad ali muhammad salla allah muhammad
[3:03]wa ala muhammad a second time for the love of an imam
[3:10]hassan an imam hussain a third time for the love of lady
[3:22]fatima of the loudest voices bismillah ar-rahman ar-rahim o salat wa salam
[3:29]ala sayyidal mursaleen habib allah allah ameen bill Cosman Mustafa Muhammad wala
[3:34]elevated pyrene pyrene alladhina I'd have Allah who and who murdered Sarah
[3:42]Haram Kira so what either you depressed everyone when you said depression
[3:49]or they have no energy and they didn't have a spot so
[3:52]let's see how how how energized you are after the mentioning of
[3:59]the name of Lady Fatima sallou ala muhammadin woman santé allahu taala
[4:07]Futaba al karima call you will hawk allah subhanaw taala states in
[4:13]the chapter of a ballot chapter 19 verse 4 he says la
[4:21]Fidele jalapeno in the Sun fee cabott allah subhanaw taala sure says
[4:25]surely we created mankind and brought him to this world in a
[4:28]state of hardship sort of Allah Allah inalienable assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh allah
[4:36]subhanaw taala says either who eaten bhai attend for how you be
[4:40]miss Leah oh we have cinnamon huh so when you are greeted
[4:42]you should always greet either at the same level or with a
[4:48]greeting that is better than it so I say Salam alaikum warahmatullahi
[4:52]wabarakatuh so in the last few nights a hamdulillah we've had the
[4:58]opportunity to get to know ourselves better to know our world better
[5:01]to know our role in this world to understand who our Creator
[5:06]is and how not only to speak to ourselves through our self-talk
[5:10]how to address others and how to address our Lord subhana wa
[5:13]ta'ala we set some goals for ourselves and we understood the importance
[5:20]of self-awareness in determining the whole reality of choice and how choice
[5:26]is something that truly is out of the justice of allah subhanaw
[5:29]taala that he provides us to be able to choose him right
[5:31]to have that choice is an honor an honor that allah subhanaw
[5:37]taala did not have to give us right then yet he does
[5:39]out of his mercy so that we can show our gratitude to
[5:44]him so that we can come closer to him so that our
[5:48]reward can be greater and we said that in this game of
[5:50]life which is similar to when we play Xbox or Playstation right
[5:57]or if we're athletes and we like to win races or win
[6:00]games then we're going to practice until there's progress and until that
[6:07]progress brings us as close to perfection as humanly possible now we
[6:12]realize that there are challenges that come in our way and yesterday
[6:15]we spoke about these struggles and the logical necessity for these circles
[6:20]and why it is and how it is that these struggles really
[6:24]become a way for us to build resilience right and that after
[6:29]each struggle we only become stronger and the next struggle that comes
[6:32]after in the next level of life is only one that's going
[6:37]to make me stronger right more resilient more able to deal with
[6:42]life because it wouldn't make sense any logical sense that if I
[6:45]get to a higher level and surpass a lower level that the
[6:52]challenge will be any easier rather it should be greater because I'm
[6:56]able to handle more right and so what happens to me while
[7:04]I'm on this path is I hit a few snags I fall
[7:09]on my face right I lose my first life on my second
[7:10]life and my third life and then I have to start the
[7:13]game from the beginning because the game is over for me in
[7:15]this trial so I come back again and I try again and
[7:18]again and again I try that level again and again and again
[7:20]right Hassan all right I've become obsessed with that level I am
[7:27]going to get to the next level whether it kills me all
[7:30]right of course it's not gonna kill you is gonna kill your
[7:35]parents they're over your head they're waiting for you to finish playing
[7:40]so that you can come for a flop all right but what
[7:43]happens when I realize you know what I get that feeling that
[7:49]I don't feel like I can ever surpass this challenge and I
[7:53]get down on myself I say you know what you're not good
[7:58]enough you're not good enough to handle this challenge when I feel
[8:01]down logically speaking really what I'm saying is I'm not good enough
[8:06]to handle this challenge I'm not strong enough to handle the set
[8:08]of this challenge I start asking myself why me why this challenge
[8:13]why not them how come their life as easier instead of looking
[8:20]at myself I start looking at others and their challenges but what
[8:24]I don't realize is that's not the wisest thing to do because
[8:29]logically speaking I know that's a loss of Hannah Tyler gave me
[8:33]this challenge which means he chose it for me and if he
[8:36]chose it for me and that means I'm worthy of that challenge
[8:38]and that means that that challenge is tailor-made for me and that
[8:45]I can handle it logically speaking right because it would be unfair
[8:49]for God to give me a challenge that I cannot handle make
[8:52]sense otherwise he would be cruel and we proved Allah is all
[8:57]perfect and unlimited therefore there's no way that he could be cruel
[9:03]right Hansen so based on that then I say all right but
[9:06]why do I still feel down so I may feel down because
[9:12]of the fact that I keep trying and it's not working you
[9:16]know if I keep trying the same thing over and over and
[9:24]over again what's going to happen yes really you'll keep failing exactly
[9:30]unless you change something and what you're doing then guess what I'm
[9:34]gonna keep failing it's insanity to keep doing the same thing over
[9:42]and over and over and expect a different result if you're failing
[9:45]there has to be some tweaking here and there there has to
[9:52]be something that I'm missing that I need to change it's the
[9:58]patience and the wisdom to understand that that's what I need to
[10:03]figure out is where the challenge lies not in hitting yourself steady
[10:12]hitting your head on a brick wall over and over and over
[10:14]again wondering why it hurts right maybe you should move aside and
[10:18]open up the window that way when you move your head forward
[10:22]you won't hit your head anywhere all right just a little tweak
[10:25]right if I have a remote control and I keep hitting change
[10:29]challenge change the channel change the channel and there are no batteries
[10:35]in there then guess what you're gonna have to get up either
[10:38]by batteries or go towards the TV and change the channel yourself
[10:40]there has to be some change you see the problem is when
[10:51]we fall into feeling the state of loss what do we end
[10:53]up doing isolating ourselves what else do we tend to do negative
[11:02]thoughts what else happens brother you feel guilty good what else happens
[11:09]hmm there's plenty of you in the room only two people who
[11:20]are talking what else happens hmm you dwell right dwell on your
[11:25]ability to be successful or dwell on your failure dwell on your
[11:29]failure or we should spoke about that yesterday what else hmm you
[11:38]feel like giving up a scent very good Hodge so we get
[11:41]all of these feelings and none of them can be described as
[11:48]being positive right you feel a sense of powerlessness and we spoke
[11:53]about that a little yesterday about that group who when tested realized
[11:59]because they were so stressed that they couldn't surpass that one question
[12:04]so they ended up falling into this winding feeling of failure like
[12:11]a deep dark abyss that they couldn't get out of right until
[12:17]they just gave up and the time was up how can I
[12:21]get myself to snap out of it hmm make door ha to
[12:30]a good start McDonald realize that when you don't have the answer
[12:35]and you keep researching right that most likely either you're researching in
[12:40]the wrong spot or if you're asking people and you're not getting
[12:44]the answer that you want you're asking the wrong people you see
[12:50]the answer sometimes are really really simple the problem that occurs is
[12:57]when you isolate yourself isolating yourself and expecting to be able to
[13:07]find an answer is just unwise when someone is depressed what do
[13:13]they tend to do lock themselves in their room right sleep a
[13:17]lot right or maybe binge watch Netflix right check now I'm not
[13:26]depressed I just watched you know nine seasons in one night but
[13:31]I'm really not depressed I'm just trying to escape my reality but
[13:38]I'm really not depressed the why do you need to bend you
[13:41]watch so much if you're trying to avoid something I mean if
[13:45]you're if you're trying to avoid something then you're going to binge
[13:48]watch all these nova netflix and spend all your time seeing how
[13:55]everybody else's life is cool on instagram while yours just stinks right
[14:00]why then why not me I say to Allah look at that
[14:06]talk how I talk how I address my lord why then it's
[14:08]an accusatory tone right why then how dare I say that the
[14:18]audacity of how I speak to my lord and accuse him when
[14:22]he can only and will only give me what I can handle
[14:27]and yet I lose sight of that I lose sight of that
[14:33]logical necessity but I fall into depression and when I fall into
[14:38]depression I need to understand why this happens and what are the
[14:45]different effects that occur I understand that isolate myself I understand that
[14:50]I pulled myself out of you know the public realm and into
[14:53]a private realm I understand that I'm not probably acting wisely I
[14:58]understand that I have I engage in a lot of negative self-talk
[15:04]talking to myself even when I talk to my parents I'll say
[15:05]stuff like you know I realize you know what what's the point
[15:10]let me just give up I've tried so much to get to
[15:12]pharmacy school but you know I have applied to a hundred schools
[15:25]nobody wants me right what does modern science tell us about depression
[15:31]I think that it's important to move on to that point modern
[15:35]science is really interesting because it tells us that there are different
[15:39]forms of depression and this is important for us to understand before
[15:43]we go into the Quran to understand what allah subhanaw taala tells
[15:48]us there's a form of depression well according to the Harvard Medical
[15:53]School there is actually six types of depression I believe that they
[15:57]mentioned but I'm going to mention one extra so one is called
[16:05]major depression major depression is the most common type of depression that
[16:09]one feels this is the type of depression that we would feel
[16:11]for example if we were going through challenges in life right and
[16:16]we weren't able to deal with them and what happens is we
[16:19]end up feeling this sense of loss and and and it can
[16:26]you know it can last for a bit of time but once
[16:30]I snap out of it right life changes and I'm no longer
[16:34]depressed right this is the most common type of depression and this
[16:38]type of that depression is actually resolved easily usually with psychotherapy meaning
[16:43]you go see a counselor okay the counselor will listen to you
[16:50]the counselor is a psychologist they'll say to you well how do
[16:54]you feel what do you think and then you come up with
[16:58]this thing where I realize that when I was a child that
[17:00]my mother did this and this is why I'm responding this way
[17:06]and this has affected my pattern of behavior and this might be
[17:10]why I'm self-deprecating because I saw my mom you know being self-deprecating
[17:13]and this is a pattern that I have to break so you
[17:18]find the reason and then what ends up happening is you try
[17:21]to negotiate and try to find a solution okay but it's about
[17:27]what it's about thinking through it honey from cinema tonight so about
[17:31]thinking through it working your way through it okay now if that
[17:35]isn't resolved then what ends up happening is the person is prescribed
[17:41]a medication and this is very common today right a lot of
[17:45]people for example may be using a medication like Zoloft for example
[17:49]that's supposed to take care of those feelings of depression and negativity
[17:55]and all that sort of thing but most people that take these
[17:58]medications later they say that when they take them they don't feel
[18:05]like themselves you know they feel like they're in a shell of
[18:07]a body and they want to do things but they really don't
[18:09]feel that motivated to do it I remember one brother said to
[18:14]me you know I took the medication to help me resolve this
[18:16]issue but I found myself I found that it slowed me down
[18:20]more than it helped me and then he said after a while
[18:25]he said he got off of it and then he got he
[18:29]went to another psychologist and that psychologist sent him to a psychiatrist
[18:32]and the psychiatrist actually fixed the medication the dosage until it was
[18:37]at a point that really helped him as opposed to hurt him
[18:41]okay and he really needed it some people for example are on
[18:47]meds for a good chunk of their lives because they have some
[18:50]sort of chemical imbalance that needs fixing so that's one of the
[18:53]reasons there's another type of depression called persistent depressive disorder also known
[19:02]as this this sorana Mohammed or item Hamid while I pronounce this
[19:09]this fee Mia there it is okay now this is basically a
[19:19]form of depression where the depression comes and goes there it's like
[19:25]it's more like moods but what's interesting here is that the person
[19:30]doesn't feel any joy in life okay they feel like they're just
[19:34]they're like nothing brings them happy this usually is a result of
[19:47]low self-esteem it's a result of maybe not enough sleep according to
[19:53]to the studies it's a result of perhaps an imbalance hormonal imbalance
[19:58]in the body also the third type of depression is called bipolar
[20:03]disorder otherwise known as manic depressive disorder and this is this can
[20:11]be an inherited disorder meaning that if you know your parents had
[20:16]it or your grandparents had it that it is it could be
[20:21]likely that some sort of stressful situation can cause you to have
[20:26]it also okay now this type of disorder has two phases one
[20:31]phase which is called the manic phase and one phase which is
[20:35]called the normal phase and the manic phase people actually feel really
[20:39]energized and happy and joyous right and then after that they fall
[20:44]into depression what's interesting here though is you have other people who
[20:49]are normal and then in their manic phase they also become highly
[20:53]depressed so this type of person needs to be medicated okay another
[21:02]type of depression is a seasonal depression it's called seasonal affective disorder
[21:07]and this is a result of a lack of exposure to UV
[21:13]rays so people who aren't who are in areas that don't get
[21:19]a lot of Sun they suffer from this type of disorder this
[21:22]is why people in Scandinavia the highest rate of depression and suicide
[21:27]is actually in the Scandinavian countries because they have a very low
[21:32]amount of sunlight for a good chunk of the year at least
[21:37]six months out of the year there's also a type of depression
[21:43]that actually is associated with puberty when the hormonal changes occur people
[21:50]who are prepubescent entering into the realm of puberty right because of
[21:54]the hormonal imbalances they have they tend to be erratic in their
[21:59]behavior sometimes they tend to have mood swings also and that is
[22:03]also because of the adjustments that are occurring within their bodies naturally
[22:09]hormonal II and there's also a type two types of depression that
[22:14]are associated only with women only women get these one which is
[22:18]perinatal depression which occurs either during pregnancy or after postpartum during or
[22:26]after postpartum and that could last for anywhere from 12 months to
[22:30]two years and sometimes longer and then there's a type of depression
[22:37]called PMDD this is related to a woman's menstrual cycle this can
[22:41]occur right before her menstrual cycle or during her menstrual cycle so
[22:45]she gets Moody for example a lot of the guys they say
[22:49]yeah my wife is moody or you know so-and-so is moody and
[22:51]the reason why is because she might be either approaching her cycle
[22:55]or she might be on her cycle not all women get this
[23:01]by the way okay so these are the different types of depressive
[23:05]disorders that there are medically speaking according to Harvard okay now what's
[23:13]important to note here is there are certain hormones that are important
[23:18]for us not to feel a sense of loss and depression one
[23:23]is the happy hormone which is dopamine the most commonly known one
[23:27]that we've mentioned a lot right another hormone that's important for us
[23:30]not to have in low levels is serotonin because serotonin has been
[23:36]written directly according to the studies related to depression and people who
[23:40]have very low dopamine and serotonin levels have actually been found to
[23:50]be suicidal in many cases and in some cases very low levels
[23:55]levels of dopamine have actually caused psychosis alright so now we understand
[24:01]as an overview what are the different form depression Wow all that
[24:07]forms all those forms of depression you want me to be okay
[24:10]alright and you know everybody's sitting here and saying hmm you know
[24:17]I have mood swings alright maybe I have that one right and
[24:20]the young boys are saying yeah you know my sister she's moody
[24:23]I'm sure she has that one right and the parents are like
[24:29]yeah my son is prepubescent and man such a tough time dealing
[24:32]with this little boy right you don't know is he a man
[24:36]is he a boy he's confused you know of course is because
[24:38]of his hormones so how do I deal with all of this
[24:46]now remember we showed before that there is truly a connection between
[24:52]the physical and the metaphysical right where the physical can affect the
[24:58]metaphysical and the metaphysical can affect the physical right and we said
[25:03]that we're more metaphysical than we are physical right we have a
[25:07]physical body but we have an intellect which is metaphysical we have
[25:11]a soul which is metaphysical we have what else Neffs which is
[25:19]metaphysical what else emotions of course are metaphysical yes what else so
[25:25]desire and anger those are emotions metaphysical what else we have a
[25:29]pallet the metaphysical pulp the heart where the decisions are made right
[25:34]so we are more metaphysical than we are physical we know that
[25:38]when metaphysically were affected by something if we're if we feel sad
[25:41]because somebody for example passed away in our family what happens to
[25:47]us is our body automatically responds to our metaphysical sense of sadness
[25:55]and it releases certain hormones right when that happens I fall into
[26:02]a state of sadness they say that people who have major depression
[26:06]for example after the loss of a loved one what what is
[26:12]very specific to this type of depression is that they have kind
[26:16]of waves of sadness that hit them waves of feeling loss that
[26:19]hit them for example for example recently I had a loss in
[26:26]my family so for example when I'm in the house and I
[26:29]imagine for example my father-in-law sitting at the dinner table with us
[26:38]and his chair is empty what happens I get that wave of
[26:42]sadness right and we all know what it feels like it really
[26:45]strikes you sometimes you can even be driving it on all of
[26:49]a sudden you have to pull over because you just got hit
[26:51]with a wave of sadness right now the good news is that
[26:59]this type of depression isn't the worst of the bunch okay that
[27:03]you can snap out of it now of course the other types
[27:09]of depression that we mentioned and those who are quite far gone
[27:13]in the major depression category they might need to be medicated right
[27:17]it does become a medical condition so I don't want you to
[27:22]think that what we're going we are about to talk about now
[27:24]is the be-all end-all of everything like if somebody has bipolar disorder
[27:29]right what we're going to talk about now about the metaphysical and
[27:35]how to deal with ourselves is not necessarily going to be the
[27:39]full-on solution that you need you may also need medication the best
[27:42]thing to do is to go and consult a professional in this
[27:49]case okay that's my disclaimer right soul Allah Muhammad or any moment
[27:59]now how much could you get me some water please Habibi thank
[28:06]you Salim Mohammed Ali Mohammed again now in order to understand depression
[28:12]there are a few verses that are worth looking at but what
[28:16]I want to do today because our goal in this month was
[28:20]to learn how it is that we should purify our hearing and
[28:23]our eyesight right I would really like us to delve a little
[28:31]deeper into the Holy Quran so that we can say that in
[28:33]this first week not only did we recite some verses but we
[28:38]actually finished an entire chapter how does that sound to you no
[28:43]doesn't sound exciting yeah exciting not just to read it but to
[28:48]understand it okay as it relates to this topic of depression also
[28:54]I'd like to start first and foremost with the chapter of alas
[28:58]and you've heard this before this isn't the chapter that I was
[29:01]promising you that we would finish I promise you we'll do a
[29:04]longer one okay the longer one is the chapter of a ballad
[29:07]thank you so what does Allah say in the chapter of an
[29:20]awesome chapter 103 he says well awesome he swears by time he
[29:22]says look time is important it's so important that I the unlimited
[29:28]I'm going to swear by it so how important is time then
[29:31]to us how important should time be to me how I spend
[29:36]my time important so when someone says to you well do you
[29:39]have some time to kill what are you gonna say no I
[29:44]don't have time to kill because you see if you say I
[29:45]have time to kill then guess what you've been killed by time
[29:52]hate to break it to you never say I have time to
[29:58]kill why because time is of the essence we are in a
[30:02]limited world which means our time is limited right so we have
[30:07]to use our time wisely that's not to say you shouldn't relax
[30:10]if you say for example shaking now want to take this much
[30:14]time out of my day to relax and in my relaxation time
[30:16]I'm going to contemplate I'm Hamid o Allah gives us forced contemplation
[30:27]time right five prayers forced contemplation of course we're not forced to
[30:34]do it we have to make the choice but Allah has decreed
[30:38]that it is during these times of the day right so that
[30:41]he makes sure that in these times of the day at least
[30:45]five times what you're doing is you're keeping yourself in check you're
[30:50]being positive you're having that positive self-talk you're remembering Allah Almighty right
[30:55]by doing so what you're doing is you're monitoring yourself throughout the
[31:00]day right this is important why because Allah swears by time he
[31:03]says well I see so Allah isn't going to tell you listen
[31:06]I'm gonna swear by time and by the way go ahead and
[31:10]do whatever you want to do alright I a sub will in
[31:14]San Jose Yutaka Sudha Allah says in the chapter of p.m.
[31:16]does mankind think that we will bring into this world and then
[31:25]just liam and that's it yes sister inshallah I'll give it to
[31:31]you after I can't remember right now but it's sort of Guyana
[31:34]okay oh yeah Sabu in San Jose Utica Sudha we of course
[31:41]proved that of course Allah does everything for a purpose so there
[31:45]is no way that Allah would bring me here without a purpose
[31:47]which means that I have to have goals right which means that
[31:53]there's no way that Allah would leave me say here here's your
[31:57]world go ahead Allah Mac it's not gonna do it okay he's
[32:02]going to give you goals he's going to tell you what to
[32:04]do right he's going to break down your day he says in
[32:09]no salata cannot I let me Nikita bond no Goethe says look
[32:12]prayer was a written book has been made a written book on
[32:17]those who believe they decide that their life revolves around their prayer
[32:23]their relationship with Allah right so now what am I going to
[32:27]do to say okay Allah says well athletes where's my time I'm
[32:30]in I'm going to take advantage of time Allah says look well
[32:34]awesome NL in San elephants surely man is in a state of
[32:41]loss now what do you mean I'm in a state of loss
[32:47]I'm losing time I'm losing opportunity I'm losing health I'm losing wealth
[32:52]I could be losing sustenance remember all the things that we mentioned
[33:00]yesterday in that verse remember the verse who remembers it well in
[33:05]a blue one that can be che in Manette and surely we
[33:10]will try you with a little bit of fear Manila Kofi right
[33:13]well jewelry why not swim minute I'm wali well Anthony what's a
[33:22]mirage yeah you're you're going to be at a loss you're going
[33:27]to lose health wealth sustenance strength you name it you're in a
[33:37]state of loss right okay if I stop there everybody's gonna get
[33:42]depressed right so Allah doesn't stop there he uses an exceptional statement
[33:48]he says look he says Allah Allah which means except in lovina
[33:55]except for those who believe except for those who so the first
[34:04]step is to do what is to believe what do you have
[34:05]to believe in have to believe in Allah first that he's unlimited
[34:08]if you believe that he's unlimited then you believe this is an
[34:12]opportunity then you believe that you know what I just have to
[34:14]change my my self-talk I have to think positively have to look
[34:19]for other solutions right have to ask a lot into heart first
[34:21]and foremost to put people in my way that will help me
[34:28]right in lovina homina that's it call us we're done no Allah
[34:34]gives us tasks he says what Allah so what ela so what
[34:37]a la Sol plural form you know what does he say he
[34:47]says and they willingly remind each other been happy of the truth
[34:53]what he'll also again he says it again in the Arabic language
[35:00]when you repeat a word twice that's a tool of emphasis what
[35:04]tell also and again they remind each other this sovereign to be
[35:10]patient and what is the outcome for those who are patient that
[35:18]we mentioned yesterday yes Allah praises them just like he praises the
[35:23]Prophet and then Allah labels them after bestowing his mercy upon them
[35:26]he labels them as what as those who are righteously guided and
[35:28]what they do so that's an awesome right I got my formulas
[35:35]from an ass now you say but shaking them but what about
[35:41]that feeling of giving up that I feel Allah also responds he
[35:44]says look when you feel like you're going to give up be
[35:51]mindful this is a sin he says pouria a body alladhina astrov
[35:54]o Allah I'm pushing him not not on metal Mattila in the
[36:01]law you know but you mean another for over him says look
[36:06]my worshippers who have fallen into sin and lived in excess do
[36:17]not despair from the mercy of Allah for surely Allah subhana WA
[36:22]Ta'ala is the one who forgives all sins for he is the
[36:35]all-forgiving the all-merciful so right off the bat I say listen unless
[36:39]giving me a standard here there's tooth two things at last telling
[36:42]me in this in this verse he's saying look Allah says I
[36:48]know that you sent and you know that you sent one of
[36:55]the greatest sins is a yes Miraj Allah is feeling as though
[36:59]God has given up on you even gods are giving up on
[37:05]me look you won't give me anything just give me something give
[37:09]me a sign I hope me no not getting anything but sometimes
[37:17]I can't see the signs let me give you an example there's
[37:19]an exercise I do I want you to take your right index
[37:26]finger do this with me everybody raise your right index finger up
[37:29]everybody should raise the right index finger up now what I want
[37:32]you to do is point it straight at yourself and now what
[37:35]I want you to do is look at the tip of that
[37:39]index finger don't look anywhere else just look at the tip if
[37:41]you're not doing it I'm gonna come right to you and make
[37:45]sure you're doing it come on don't be shy this is a
[37:46]good exercise everybody else is doing it okay so now look at
[37:50]the tip of your finger don't look around move that tip of
[37:54]the finger dry left and keep following it with your eyes up
[37:58]and down and then centrally as you're looking at it I ask
[38:02]you without looking at what's around and just focusing at the tip
[38:04]of that finger everything around you is it blurry or is it
[38:11]clear blurry you know why because you're just focusing on one thing
[38:15]and sometimes the answer isn't with you and that one thing that
[38:18]you're focusing on Allah gave us an entire world put that finger
[38:24]in front of your face again look at that tip look at
[38:26]it look at it come on yo I'm waiting I'm waiting now
[38:33]what I want you to do is snap out of it look
[38:35]around with the fingers still there you're still there but look at
[38:41]how beautiful the world is the answers in the world it's not
[38:48]here always me I can't expect the answers always me right all
[38:52]of this comes from there from Allah sometimes the people who love
[39:01]us who are around us are telling us to snap out of
[39:03]it but what do we do say oh they don't have the
[39:07]answer why because we don't see them we don't see them mothers
[39:12]come to me they say to me shake him and my son
[39:13]is depressed I don't know what to do I keep telling them
[39:18]Allah Allah is merciful whatever it happened things will be better but
[39:25]they he just doesn't see yes he doesn't see remember that verse
[39:29]we recited chapter of baqara verse 6nl Edenic a furusawa Anala him
[39:36]and left an eminent under whom naomi no Chatham Allah Allah will
[39:40]be him wada-san Nahum why the absurd him fish lol Hamad Abhinav
[39:43]EE what happened these disbelievers Allah says he says look at these
[39:49]disbelievers we're not saying we're disbelievers not some hollow if we get
[39:53]depressed but I'm saying let's take this as an example Allah says
[39:57]look at the disbelievers right no matter how much you warn them
[40:00]yeah I believe things are gonna be fine yeah Abney don't do
[40:02]this right you're going to falter and then when you falter say
[40:07]I'm not gonna tell my mom or my dad because they're just
[40:08]gonna tell me I told you so right and they hate it
[40:11]when they're right and you know your parents mothers most of the
[40:15]time ninety nine point nine nine nine times out of 100 all
[40:21]right I should hate it why did Allah give me these parents
[40:24]who are always right to guide me that's so unfair right of
[40:30]course not that's the fairest thing Allah could do it's the best
[40:34]thing but see I don't see them and I make the choice
[40:39]not to see them why because my heart has been darkened by
[40:42]my decisions and that's what Allah says for at first he says
[40:48]look khatam Allahu Allah columbium they made the decision in their hearts
[40:53]that they would not listen to their intellects so what happened those
[40:57]two channels the hearing and the eyesight shut down completely there's a
[41:02]few shower you know Turkish Allah is it's basically a blurry cover
[41:09]exactly like when we're pointing at ourselves and we couldn't see around
[41:13]us everything was blurry that's what a his shower is it's a
[41:16]blurry cover so for me if I am a believer I'm going
[41:21]to be opposite to that disbeliever and a believer sees with what
[41:28]with the truth with what with patience right now what does Allah
[41:34]tell us in surah tell ballad and there's a reason why I
[41:39]chose so little ballad I remember a time when I was feeling
[41:42]down and out you know and I was trying my best and
[41:46]my the reason for my falling into you know feeling depressed was
[41:50]because I felt like I really wanted to go study in the
[41:54]house and I just couldn't do it you know and everybody was
[41:56]discouraging me and I didn't know how to go and I you
[42:01]know whenever I would try there would be some obstacle and and
[42:04]I just asked a lie just made the door I said oh
[42:08]Allah just guide me and one day I remember one of my
[42:09]mentors he was giving a class and he said to me also
[42:14]I want you to give it the class today it was a
[42:18]tough serious said you I'm not qualified to give this class and
[42:25]stuff he said no no you can do it he said to
[42:25]me just pick a surah I said okay so I was researching
[42:32]and researching and then I asked allah subhanaw taala to just guide
[42:35]me and I opened up the Quran and there it was right
[42:38]in front of me the chapter of repellant so I started reading
[42:42]it and researching the tough season and what I found that allah
[42:45]subhanaw taala he says something really beautiful in this chapter and that's
[42:51]why i want to share it with you it really changed my
[42:55]life and I hope that it changes yours Allah says first of
[42:59]all bismillah ar-rahman ar-rahim of course he says la auction will be
[43:03]her they'll be late I do not swear by this land much
[43:07]blah speaking to the Prophet I do not swear by this land
[43:11]my that you are in now you have to understand when Allah
[43:13]says I do not swear it's exactly like me saying you know
[43:15]what I'm not gonna tell you how important this is but you
[43:21]should understand how important it is you get it so I'm not
[43:25]gonna swear by my mom's grave okay but you get my point
[43:28]Allah is using the way we think kind of a reverse psychology
[43:34]right he says la Austin will be heard about it he uses
[43:39]it he uses the same method in certain p.m.
[43:39]la auction will be a milk ami do not swear by the
[43:43]Day of Judgment right that's how important it is you should know
[43:46]by now right so Allah says no sin will be harder but
[43:48]I don't swear by this land of Mecca that you're in then
[43:53]he says will enter hell rhombohedral Bennett and you have full rein
[43:57]in this land of Mecca and then Allah swears by something else
[44:06]he says well he didn't wanna well it he swears by the
[44:08]parent who gives birth to a child and he whom he gave
[44:16]birth to why does Allah swear by the father or the mother
[44:20]and the child that they bear why think about it he's swearing
[44:30]literally by childbirth do you know how hard childbirth is not just
[44:35]on the husband on the wife of course nine months she's carrying
[44:43]us in her womb nine months she's feeling the hardship of this
[44:49]world nine months she's not only carrying the burden of her life
[44:52]but the burden of our lives as we are carried in her
[44:57]womb she feeds us from her blood nobody else does that but
[45:07]a mother we breathe from her air nobody else does that for
[45:11]you nine months and finally when we come out into this world
[45:15]we're squeezed out of a tight canal and we might die and
[45:21]when we come out word blue and purple and we need to
[45:26]be slapped on the behind so that we can start breathing almost
[45:30]as a reminder from the outside you're here wake up breathe when
[45:35]we go through difficulties we have to learn to remember to breathe
[45:41]and sometimes we have to be slapped by someone to do it
[45:51]and it's usually the doctor not the mom or dad right sometimes
[45:57]it's someone outside that sometimes gives you that push that drive and
[46:02]when you wake up what do you do you cry as though
[46:10]you're saying and hamdulillah that I'm in this world you can't see
[46:15]you came out of all of this difficulty you can't see everything
[46:26]is blurry it takes time to take in the air to realize
[46:31]the blessings it takes time then what does Allah say after that
[46:39]he says look at the hell up and I'll insert a fee
[46:42]Kevin we have created man into hardship we've brought him a torch
[46:48]so what are you complaining about life is supposed to be hard
[46:54]quit the whining is what Allah saying saying life is supposed to
[47:00]be hard because this is a life of challenges just like your
[47:04]xbox just like your PlayStation the games gonna be hard but that's
[47:08]what makes it good that's what makes it worth the time because
[47:15]the reward at the end is going to be greater than anything
[47:19]you've ever seen tasted touched or heard and that's just a logical
[47:26]necessity that we came to then what does he say he says
[47:36]Allah Allah does he think that he's like once he gets strong
[47:40]in this world that he's done all he can and he thinks
[47:44]that he's high and mighty and there's no one other than him
[47:47]because he has become heedless and has forgotten Allah he says yeah
[47:52]pool elect to my land nobody he says I gave from my
[48:03]wealth towards Allah Almighty Allah says hey do you think that no
[48:09]one saw you when you did this why are you saying this
[48:13]what are you holding a favour over Allah said that you did
[48:16]some good things in your life it's not over you got to
[48:22]keep doing more Allah says what more do I need to do
[48:24]and why is that important for me to snap out of the
[48:29]depression that I'm in we'll talk about that tomorrow so make sure
[48:32]you come hamdulillah here a blond amino Sulli arabela see now Hamid
[48:39]I waited I mean Aparri well fatiha are walking home in Moscow
