[0:00]what is the first makhtal written maktal is the story of the

[0:04]martyrdom of imam hussain alaihissalam and his companions on ashura written in

[0:08]some detail the first to compile a maktal was a companion of

[0:11]imam ali salam by the name of al-asbar bin nubata who died

[0:16]in the early years of the second centh century after hijra after

[0:19]him it was the maktal of jabar al-jafi who died in the

[0:24]year 128.

[0:23]unfortunately there's no trace left of these two maktals and they are

[0:27]completely lost next a man by the name of luther yahya otherwise

[0:34]known as abhi mahnaf who died in 157 after hijra wrote we

[0:37]have some of his maktal preserved by the likes of tabari and

[0:43]others it is also translated to english
