[32:08]we our collective taziyyid and condolence go to the imam of our
[32:13]time the words of sayyidahs alayhi salaam may allah hasten his reappearance
[32:19]on such an occasion it is one of the earliest of the
[32:29]moments of grief for the holy messenger and for the household of
[32:34]that great personality muhammad rasulullah if you look at the very first
[32:49]passing away the very first wafaaat the very first jihadat in the
[32:55]history of islam she will be there right at the very beginning
[33:01]in that very early of times yes there were those before her
[33:06]of course hazrat i ammar his parents were the first on the
[33:11]shivada however her waqfat marked the beginning of the dhulam on the
[33:21]household of rasulullah and then that was followed very closely by the
[33:31]wafaaat of the uncle of the holy prophet hazratahu wa ta'ala and
[33:36]that year the holy prophet would call amul hosn the year of
[33:41]grief the year of sorrow so it is our duty then to
[33:49]come to such gatherings and to partake participate to also express our
[33:56]grief and our sorrow for this loss that the muslim ummah has
[34:00]suffered it wasn't just the prophet but every person who has the
[34:06]faith of tawhid who believes in the holy prophet who believes and
[34:10]reads and seeks guidance from the holy quran there is a debt
[34:17]for all of those things and the debt of jannah that we
[34:20]will insha'allah receive and it all goes to say the khadijah that
[34:27]every person whether they accept her madame whether they accept her fala'il
[34:34]whether they accept her true status in the eyes of allah their
[34:41]kalimah of la ilaha illallah is founded upon these very first sacrifices
[34:48]in those moments in those years in makkah the thirteen years or
[34:52]so in makkah the holy prophet suffered the most and who was
[34:59]beside him at every turn at every moment even before that when
[35:06]the holy prophet would climb jabalun nur and worship allah in the
[35:14]cave of hira who was there to at that moment in that
[35:18]time to serve the holy prophet to serve islam the islam that
[35:22]was to be revealed it was none other than and for us
[35:38]to understand her life and the lessons that she gives us it
[35:44]is important for any of these personalities that we celebrate that we
[35:48]commemorate the greatest explanation of those personalities come from the mouth of
[35:57]the ma'as umit themselves and so there was a time when rasulullah
[36:04]would explain to the muslim ummah that who was sayyidah khadija in
[36:12]a nutshell in three simple sentences he gave the whole life so
[36:17]that we can take the lesson from her life that we know
[36:21]that what was she about what was her sacrifice all about where
[36:27]how did such a personality became the lady that we know her
[36:34]to be now there are many people who were there beginning of
[36:40]that mission of islam but we see there are certain people that
[36:45]were indispensable that were the very heart of the spread of islam
[36:53]and of course the holy messenger himself but alongside him we have
[36:57]three personalities we have the personality of harati abutadi we have his
[37:05]support and his himayat and his sanctuary the sanctuary that he gave
[37:13]the holy prophet that amidst all of the animosity that was given
[37:20]to rasulullah alaihi abu talib as long as his shade was over
[37:24]makkah the holy prophet would not see the harm that he would
[37:29]see after the passing away of hathi secondly it was the son
[37:35]of abu talib amir al mumineen ali abi talib and his sword
[37:42]we will see the sword in medina of course there were no
[37:49]battles in makkah but the strength that ali showed even in makkah
[37:57]and the support that he showed it was indispensable and of course
[38:01]the support and the help that sayyidah khadidah gave but what kind
[38:07]of mean is synonymous when we think of sayyidah khadidah we think
[38:11]of her wealth we think of all of the sacrifices financial sacrifice
[38:15]that she gave but there was something more to her and this
[38:21]is what the holy prophet wish to mention when he when we
[38:27]read this particular hadith of his which is found in sunni and
[38:30]shia books that one of his other wives she narrates this this
[38:38]is mentioned in the in other books of ahil sunnah she says
[38:53]that whenever the prophet would leave the house he would think of
[39:00]sayyidah khadija he was always thinking about sayyidah khadija and then when
[39:07]he would think about sayyidah khadija he would do the zikr of
[39:10]sayyidah khadija he would recite the greatest fadhayl al al tanah alhamdanat
[39:20]of sayyidah khadidah he would remember the good things the great things
[39:26]about her about her sacrifices about the simplest of things such as
[39:30]this is the kind of food that she would eat if one
[39:34]of her friends would come to drop off some food to the
[39:38]house of rasulullah the prophet would remember that this is the food
[39:42]that sayyidina khalidya would eat now the wife who was narrating this
[39:49]she says she she's the one who narrates this and she she
[39:53]is the one who says this and explains what rasulullah says but
[39:58]then she i mean she says that once he mentioned this he
[40:05]remembered sayyidah khadija the jealousy that i had it just overtook me
[40:14]it overtook me that i couldn't no longer control my tongue and
[40:19]she said that who was she but an old lady for she
[40:31]is insulting sayyidah khalidah in this way that who was she but
[40:35]an old lady and then she makes a statement from herself not
[40:39]from wahi not from any source religious source from herself she is
[40:45]saying that allah has replaced her with better wives than her and
[40:55]on hearing this she narrates for al ghadhava that he became angry
[41:02]and this hadith is mentioned in different ways we have the different
[41:06]versions mentioned in the different hadiths in different books but this particular
[41:10]version edition of the hadith gives the true details of what was
[41:14]happening in the other hadiths of this sort of this that the
[41:20]prophet delivered this information we see that it is it is toned
[41:25]down because ahlus sunnah didn't want to see otherwise of rasulullah to
[41:30]be seen in such light but this is from herself that allah
[41:36]that the for khadrabah rasulullah the holy messenger became angered by this
[41:41]statement that how dare you say that allah has replaced her sayyidah
[41:49]with better wives allah allah he hasn't replaced her with better wives
[42:01]why because of four things that he mentions here four things that
[42:07]make sayyidah khadija one of the greatest women of islam and not
[42:13]just the islam that the holy prophet brought but the islam that
[42:17]adam came with as well since the beginning of humanity until the
[42:23]end of humanity we have the greatest of women in the world
[42:26]and amongst whom is sayyidah fadija mint al khawaii wa ralaihi ralaihi
[42:30]ralaihi ralaihi ralaihi it is easy for the later wives in medina
[42:38]to say that we are better than her we are with the
[42:41]prophet we are the consorts of the prophet we are from the
[42:44]haram of the prophet but it is one thing to be the
[42:50]wife of the prophet in medina and then to be the wife
[42:54]and the support and the help of the prophet in makkah it
[42:59]is one thing to take from islam and another thing to give
[43:04]to islam this is a difference but rasulullah what does he say
[43:11]he said amunat b is the gafaran nas she believed in me
[43:18]when the whole of mecca rejected me they were kafir and this
[43:23]lady was a muslim she accepted my faith she accepted islam these
[43:30]were the very three first muslims of the muslim ummah the holy
[43:38]prophet sayyidah khadija al amil al muminin one of the narrators narrates
[43:45]that while he was still at gaza before he accepted islam he
[43:49]came he entered makkah he was sitting with abbas ibn abdul muktaleh
[43:55]the uncle of the prophet and as he was sitting there he
[43:59]saw a young man walk in and then he was followed by
[44:04]a woman and then he was followed by a younger man a
[44:08]boy and then they were offering a prayer a very strange kind
[44:15]of prayer when they entered masjid al haram they were at the
[44:19]holy kaaba they started offering this very strange prayer that i haven't
[44:23]seen before these were the three first the first muslim of the
[44:31]muslim the ones who brought the islam that we know today to
[44:37]this domain and normally yes we are averse from the three when
[44:44]we mention the three then we are udutubaba we disassociate from but
[44:51]those three are the different three but these three we should remember
[44:55]that this is the trinity amongst humanity that these three personalities were
[45:04]the ones who brought islam to makkah and ensured in that very
[45:10]early stage that islam will flourish they are the ones who gave
[45:15]the greatest of sacrifices and their sacrifices never ended in their lifetimes
[45:21]their sacrifice continued after their lifetimes with their children and their children's
[45:27]children almanat be a ibn katharah a nurse that the people rejected
[45:36]the prophet and accepted faith and she believed in me she did
[45:49]the tasdeer of me what i said she confirmed to be the
[45:52]truth while the other people said that i was a liar the
[45:58]others belied me and sayyidah khalidah milti qawelid was the one who
[46:04]did tasdeer of me she believed me she said that i was
[46:09]saddiq i was amin and she accepted my prophecy in other words
[46:15]there was that great moral support when we think of these great
[46:22]personalities we get lost in their isma of course they were masum
[46:29]it's very misdemeanor to say that hanifa was a ma'asum at a
[46:32]lower degree but not among supporting ma'asumi but she was preserved and
[46:38]protected by allah that's the meaning of islam but you know we
[46:47]get immersed in that and we forget that there was a human
[46:50]side for them as well they were humans they had feelings and
[46:55]when the prophet set out to deliver the message of islam and
[46:59]then he was taunted he was humiliated he was insulted and at
[47:04]times he was physically abused it was at every moment sayyidah khadidah
[47:10]who was the rock beside him who would always comfort him who
[47:15]would always support him and help him and give him that moral
[47:19]support she is the one who brought the cloak so that we
[47:26]know the holy prophet to be al muldafir she is the one
[47:32]who gave the prophet this orphan everything that she had and this
[47:38]is what the prophet mentions next while everyone else kept their wealth
[47:49]to themselves no one else was giving in such a way but
[47:53]sayyidah khalidah gave everything she had to the cause of ismail now
[48:02]in islam we must understand that a lady's is her maal a
[48:07]wife's maal her wealth is her wealth the husband's wealth is his
[48:12]wealth i get a lot of questions about that we have the
[48:16]mixed pot and then how do we pay the khums we have
[48:20]to distinguish what is for the wife and what is for the
[48:24]husband who owns what so that each individual can undertake his obligation
[48:31]in regards to that wealth and it is not an obligation at
[48:36]all that a wife gives everything to the husband no this is
[48:40]a holy prophet not just a husband she saw the truth in
[48:44]that message she realized that this is the greatest of humanity that
[48:51]i have married to and this is the one that i will
[48:55]serve not just with every dirham and dinar that i have but
[49:01]every energy that i can muster from my body and this is
[49:07]what she did in her life that in the ten years that
[49:10]she lived after the birth of the rasulullah after the first wahi
[49:15]came down for ten years that culminated with that the exile into
[49:23]she'abi the valley of abu talib when the kufa of makkah could
[49:30]no longer handle the holy prophet they came together and they said
[49:35]that we need to boycott him financially and socially so the economic
[49:41]and the social boycott began and they found themselves always constantly the
[49:48]bin al hashem they were constantly belittled and insulted and they had
[49:53]to leave makkah and they entered the valley owned by halat i
[49:57]abu dahlil of the valley the sheikh i abi tal and they
[50:01]stayed there not for a few weeks not for a few months
[50:04]what some narrations say two years most historians say three years it
[50:10]was three years they lived in this valley and while they were
[50:16]there in that valley everything was cut off from them there are
[50:23]various stories of how the food got to them some people mounted
[50:29]donkeys with food and then they would set them off and hope
[50:34]that they will reach the sheikh the valley the mouth of the
[50:37]valley so that the prophet and his family and the bani hashem
[50:41]could then take the food because if it was known that such
[50:46]a person is delivering food to them this was a time of
[50:48]tadiyah people were hiding their faith if it was known that they
[50:52]would suffer dire consequences for that and everything if they were able
[51:00]to get to a trader to get some food or even procure
[51:03]some water it will be on the black market it will be
[51:07]at extortionate prices so what so where was wealth coming from where
[51:12]was all that money coming from it was coming from sayyidah khadija
[51:17]that she was spending every dirham and every dinar for the welfare
[51:21]of the muslims that were there in the shiagh of abu many
[51:27]historians and those who write the life of the holy prophet do
[51:34]not quite bring to words the suffering that the muslims endured in
[51:43]that time it was the first great maseeba of the muslim ummah
[51:52]that when if i mention what was happening there we will conjure
[51:58]up in our minds the scenes of karbala the children by the
[52:05]end of the three years the children had nothing to eat or
[52:10]drink they were tired they were weary were weak because they had
[52:18]no food no water they were living on boiled vegetation that they
[52:22]would find sayyidah khadija who was her trading equaled the trading of
[52:35]the rest of makkah this was how great a lady in terms
[52:38]of society she was but now she had spent everything and she
[52:44]was ill now a lady who once had everything in her hands
[52:50]who had the whole of makkah makruz to her they were indebted
[52:54]to her financially she now had spent everything that she had and
[53:00]she was dying of malnutrition she had no food no water for
[53:06]weeks her body couldn't take it any further and this is what
[53:13]caused her eventual death but how did that exile come to an
[53:22]end that boycott come to the end that there are various narrations
[53:26]of life comfortable to bring those narrations together what we see that
[53:31]the holy prophet told his uncle abu da'alib that go to the
[53:37]quraysh and tell them that the contract has been that contract between
[53:43]the tribes of makkah the tribes of quraysh that contract has been
[53:48]eaten up by the termites abu dawl went and said the contract
[53:56]that that but there's another narration of how that how that particular
[54:20]exile had ended and boycott had ended that's there were those amongst
[54:26]the banu haishim and they were there in sheikh abi talib and
[54:30]then there were those muslims the early muslims who were outside of
[54:35]sheikh abi talib but because of circumstances we don't see what they
[54:40]had done there were certain names that have been mentioned but history
[54:42]reports the deeds of those who did help they did what they
[54:46]could but if we look at we've spoken to the glorious three
[54:51]but we look at the other three we don't see their names
[54:54]mentioned how they helped they were supposedly the early muslims but we
[54:58]don't see their names how did they get the food how did
[55:01]they they just said that when the second became muslim the meccans
[55:07]started to quiver in their boots that they had that they were
[55:12]scared that he he had now become a muslim but where was
[55:16]his strength where was his bravery when it came to that moment
[55:21]we don't see those names what names do we see we see
[55:25]the names of three individuals and they were not even muslims when
[55:31]they heard again it conjures up the imagery of karbala the scenes
[55:35]of karbala particularly imagine how what khalid al khodra would be hearing
[55:41]from the camp of imam hussein that these three individuals when they
[55:47]would hear in the night the voices of the children crying crying
[55:52]out al atash al atash it was too much for them and
[55:58]they went to the holy kaaba they tore up what remained of
[56:03]that ahad that written ahad between the tribes they unsheathed their swords
[56:09]and they said enough is enough the musharahim came history doesn't record
[56:16]whether they became muslim or not after that this is how the
[56:21]muslims have recorded history unfortunately the sirah of the holy prophet especially
[56:28]that early time there are many gaps there are many gaps in
[56:34]what was recorded and we see that it is humanity the humanity
[56:42]the shared humanity that came forth and created the end of that
[56:48]boycott and that cause of islam we see the weakness at that
[56:57]moment this was towards the end of period of in makkah this
[57:03]was a couple of years before the migration of rasulullah towards medina
[57:08]and we see this weakness at that moment we see the weaknesses
[57:12]of the muslim ummah towards the end of the life of rasulullah
[57:16]we see the weaknesses today but as fact is that every one
[57:23]of them owes a debt of gratitude to say the khadidah when
[57:29]we talk about sadat ijaria this is a month of sadatah of
[57:33]tasadq this is a holy month of ramadan of sacrifice especially when
[57:40]we sacrifice our desires for food we sacrifice our wealth for fidya
[57:47]for fitr we inshaallah give sadaqah as in a voluntary way everything
[57:59]that we give in sadaqah if we are taking care of a
[58:03]family if we are taking care of a family's education imagine how
[58:08]far it will go because now those children are now educated their
[58:13]children will be educated as well and then their children will be
[58:16]educated this is a repercussion zuh the dominoes the domino effect but
[58:24]if you look at sayyidah khalidah every dirham and every dinar that
[58:30]she gave we see the effect of that today even the last
[58:36]dinah the last dirham that she gave to procure for example water
[58:42]for the muslims that had so much weight allah knows best but
[58:49]i feel that that has so much weight that every muslim is
[58:54]indebted to that same dirham or that same diya until today because
[59:03]it was given with ikhlas it was given without any riyah any
[59:08]showing off any ulterior motives it was given for the love of
[59:11]rasulullah time is running short the last the final thing the final
[59:24]role that sayyidah khadijah had which the prophet mentioned in this hadith
[59:30]was wa razza alani min allahu walad dumal ayiliha min al nisaa
[59:36]that my ihtrah al qawthar i recited surat al qawthar in the
[59:41]beginning to make this connection that sayyidah zahra she is embodiment of
[59:48]the qosr imam al hasan al mujtaba whose bilalat will celebrate soon
[59:53]he is the nifaar or the application of surat al qosr we
[59:59]see that israat that are of rasulullah and allah said but the
[60:06]vessel the mother of all of these great personalities some say the
[60:11]zahara to imam ibn al hasanayn sharifah and to all of the
[60:15]imam the holy prophet required a lady that is pure like no
[60:22]other lady in that time there was no one purer than her
[60:26]no one more muhlis than her this is what we believe in
[60:31]that every womb that the light of imamat and wailahat has gone
[60:35]through is a womb that is pure that is chaste we recite
[60:39]this in zayat al walid never touched any of the wounds or
[61:01]the loins of your forefathers your nur was transferred from the purest
[61:08]of wombs to the purest of wombs the great connection that was
[61:12]there with sayyidah kharijah and the holy prophet was she was chosen
[61:16]to be the mother of 11 of the 12 imams and then
[61:21]the first imam she wasn't his mother but she was the one
[61:25]who then when imam ali was born who raised him we say
[61:30]the prophet raised him but who was the wife of the prophet
[61:35]before the quran says that she was al mumineen she was the
[61:40]mother to imam ali she raised him and that is why our
[61:48]belief is that she is the greatest of the wives of rasulullah
[61:52]there is so much for us to learn from her life the
[61:56]sacrifice that she has given for islam in terms of the real
[62:00]final point that's when we wish to have good children we wish
[62:07]to have a progeny and a lineage that is upon the path
[62:13]of the ahlul bayt we need to decide wisely who to make
[62:18]our whites what do we look for in our whites many a
[62:23]times people come to me and complain that the children are now
[62:26]teenagers what do we do the girls are now teenagers what do
[62:31]we do they don't wear a hijab so does the mother wear
[62:35]hijab has the mother given the tarbiid for the children to wear
[62:40]the hijab and have i as the worry of my children as
[62:48]the father of my children done my utmost extremely important that we
[62:54]understand that it's not just about personalities being born and said this
[62:59]is an imam the physical vessel that they have come with allah
[63:03]swt has had a system where even the physical parts of their
[63:09]existence are pure and the most purest amongst humanity and with all
[63:17]after all of these sacrifices sayyidah khadija she was dying of malnutrition
[63:25]she was on her deathbed just a few words on my side
[63:31]and she said you rasulullah i have i have three final words
[63:38]that i wish to mention firstly she said that i have had
[63:46]many shortcomings in my service to you rasulullah there are many things
[63:51]i could have done that i haven't done but rasulullah responded that
[63:54]no there were no shortcomings you did everything that you could you
[63:58]sacrificed everything that you had for the cause of islam for allah
[64:05]and then she said i fear the grave i fear any punishment
[64:13]that allah might give me so if you would give me the
[64:17]rida the cloak that you would wear as the wahi would be
[64:23]revealed upon you and the holy prophet gave that rida that abha
[64:28]that you would be given the kapha in that but on hearing
[64:32]this allah sends down jibrail and that the jibrail speaks to the
[64:39]holy prophet that your wife has given everything to islam here is
[64:45]a taffin from jannah that she is to be wrapped in in
[64:48]a zolt and the final wasiyah of sayyidah khadija as she was
[64:55]breathing her last she pointed to her daughter sayyidah fatima tuzahara and
[65:02]she said my wasiyaht is for her that ensure that none of
[65:09]the ladies of quresha hurt her none of them raise their voices
[65:13]against her no one even looks at her with any anger but
[65:18]you sayyidah khadija you lived in a very different time but there
[65:22]would come a time that it would not be the women of
[65:25]quresh it would be the men of quresh who would come to
[65:29]hurt your daughter they would not she said do not allow the
[65:33]women of quraysh to raise their hands against her they would be
[65:38]the men of quraysh who would come who would raise their hands
[65:41]and in their hands there would be fire that it would burn
[65:45]the door with the door of sayyidah zahara'ah that at one moment
[65:50]that she would be struck by that door between the door and
[65:54]the wall would be brought down and she would call out you
[65:58]fiqh dahudini the sun that i have in my womb has become
