[0:00][Music] But a few moments later, that moment of joy for the
[0:08]family turned into a moment of panic.
[0:11]Essentially, the child fell onto the floor and injured his hand.
[0:20]And so, the parents rushed to the ER.
[0:25]And turns out after multiple hours of waiting and testing, turns out
[0:31]that the young boy's this three-year-old child, his hand was broken.
[0:36]And you can imagine the pain of the mother, especially for a
[0:43]three-year-old son of hers, witnessing him in pain.
[0:44]And to add to that, there was this frustration that she has
[0:50]to take time off of work, getting a pay cut.
[0:53]And so the next day, she had to take him to the
[0:59]doctor to get a cast on the hand.
[1:02]Now, when they're in the doctor's office and they're about to put
[1:11]a cast on the hand and the mother is panicking and also
[1:17]frustrated, she receives the tragic news that her workplace is gone.
[1:26]Her co-workers are all dead.
[1:30]You see, this lady worked in the World Trade Center and that
[1:38]day was 9/11.
[1:41]And so in a short few moments, everything regarding her workplace no
[1:50]longer existed.
[1:54]But she was saved.
[1:57]Everyone in her work was dead.
[2:02]But she, on the other hand, was saved.
[2:07]All because her three-year-old son had fallen to the ground and broken
[2:15]his hand.
[2:15]And while this story is is a fascinating story truly the reality
[2:23]is brothers and sisters that this story is not unique to that
[2:29]lady is not unique to that mother.
[2:31]It's not an isolated incident.
[2:35]In fact, if we analyze back to our lives, look back at
[2:43]the moments of difficulty, the moments of pain, the moments of the
[2:46]challenging moments in our life, we will surely find moments that Allah
[2:56]subhanahu wa ta'ala made those moments of pain into a recipe to
[3:02]heal.
[3:04]Because at the end of the day, brothers and sisters, there is
[3:08]one thing that we have to know.
[3:11]Every single moment of our life and regardless of how difficult it
[3:21]is, regardless of how challen challenging it is to think of it
[3:26]in the moment, we have to know that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[3:29]truly loves us.
[3:30]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is merciful to us in ways that we
[3:36]cannot imagine.
[3:38]And so when we go through a challenging moment, when there's a
[3:46]difficulty in our life, when push comes to shove and the world
[3:50]we feel is totally against us, we have to know that this
[3:58]is all following Allah subhanana wa ta'ala's plan and that Allah subhanahu
[4:03]wa ta'ala has our back and that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is
[4:07]not doing something to punish us sometimes when we go through these
[4:14]challenging moments.
[4:17]Some of us and we may all fall into this.
[4:20]Sometimes we look to the sky and we complain to Allah subhanahu
[4:28]wa ta'ala.
[4:27]Ya Allah, why do I have to be the one that falls
[4:32]into this issue?
[4:35]Why am I the one that has to deal with this pain?
[4:38]There's 7 billion people in this world.
[4:41]Why do I have to be the one that goes through this?
[4:48]But Islam teaches us something else.
[4:53]Islam tells us rather than complaining to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala know
[5:00]that what is happening to you is something that is ultimately beneficial
[5:05]to you something that is better for you because at the end
[5:09]of the day we have to know that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[5:12]loves us and his love to us is greater than anything that
[5:18]we can ever comprehend.
[5:22]I'll give you this example to make it a little clear.
[5:26]When a child is sick and the child is too young to
[5:35]understand what's happening to him or her, they're having this terrible fever.
[5:41]All they feel is pain and they have no idea what's happening
[5:43]to them.
[5:45]They're too young to understand.
[5:47]And then the mother comes into the room and rather than giving
[5:54]this child, you know, a hug to calm him down, she also
[5:59]does something else.
[6:01]She brings that bitter medicine that does not taste good for the
[6:10]child and she gives it to him or her.
[6:11]And at that moment, the daughter or the son are feeling what?
[6:15]They're feeling betrayed.
[6:17]How can my mother do this to me?
[6:20]But in reality, that is the form of love that the mother
[6:25]needs to give in order for the child to heal.
[6:29]For the mother, she is exercising the act of love by giving
[6:37]that child the bitter medicine.
[6:40]But the child is perceiving this to be an act of punishment
[6:46]by the mother.
[6:48]Now with all due respect to everyone here, and I speak to
[6:52]myself before any of you, sometimes when it comes to Allah subhanahu
[6:57]wa ta'ala, we adults sometimes act like that child.
[7:03]We may feel betrayed.
[7:05]We may feel punished by Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[7:09]We may complain, why is this happening to me?
[7:12]Ya Allah, why are you allowing this to happen to me?
[7:16]But the reality is that that moment may be a moment of
[7:26]healing for us.
[7:25]That challenging difficulty can be necessary for our development in life.
[7:34]And therefore, Allah subhanana wa ta'ala highlights that in the Holy Quran.
[7:40]He says, "Perhaps that you hate something, you despise it.
[7:45]You're going through it, but it's good for you." Perhaps you love
[7:56]something.
[7:57]You think it's the best thing that can happen to you, but
[8:03]in reality, it's terrible.
[8:05]It's not good for us.
[8:08]And we complain to Allah, why is this not happening to me?
[8:12]But Allah subhana wa ta'ala knows better.
[8:15]And he says, "I know and you don't know." In the month
[8:27]of Ramadan, we have this beautiful saying.
[8:31]We say it every night and we learn it from the im
[8:34]and dua.
[8:43]And perhaps the one who delayed that thing that I perceive to
[8:50]be good, why does he delay it?
[8:54]Because he knows the consequences of things.
[8:56]And so the biggest characteristic and one of the best characteristics that
[9:06]a believer should have in his or her life is having total
[9:08]trust in Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[9:11]Having trust that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has your back.
[9:18]And that is what we call in Islam.
[9:22]having absolute trust and faith in the plan of Allah subhanana wa
[9:29]ta'ala because at the end of the day Allah subhanana wa ta'ala
[9:31]tells us if you if you trust me if you believe in
[9:37]me I got you I have your back and the one who
[9:47]depends on Allah has on Allah who trusts Allah who does not
[9:53]complain to Allah because that thing is happening rather trusting that this
[9:56]thing is the best thing for them.
[9:58]Allah subhana wa ta'ala says I will suffice for them.
[10:02]I will be sufficient for them.
[10:05]Meaning that you will not need anyone or anything but Allah subhanahu
[10:10]wa ta'ala.
[10:12]So that's where comes in.
[10:16]That's where trust in Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala comes in.
[10:21]But let's not understand this to mean that a person should not
[10:29]work that a person should not strive to do something and sit
[10:32]idly by waiting for a miracle to happen because chances are a
[10:38]miracle will not happen.
[10:40]Not none of us are prophets of Allah and even the prophets
[10:44]did not have it easy.
[10:45]The prophets of Allah had to strive.
[10:48]They had to work.
[10:50]They had to go through difficulty.
[10:55]But ultimately Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala had their back.
[10:57]And so let's not understand it just like how some Muslims across
[11:03]the world believe in other schools of thought that you should set
[11:06]by and Allah subhana wa ta'ala would bring down your sustenance and
[11:09]would bring down no Allah subhana wa ta'ala says and say work
[11:16]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will see what you do the prophet will
[11:21]see what you do and your fellow believers will see what you
[11:26]do and so our job is to work and our job is
[11:29]to strive.
[11:31]But then Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala once we do that thing, Allah
[11:38]subhanahu wa ta'ala will give us an extra push.
[11:41]He'll support us.
[11:44]And so the religion of Islam always emphasized this aspect of work
[11:51]and put your best effort and the results will be on Allah
[11:54]subhana wa ta'ala.
[11:55]It is narrated that when the prophet questions the prophet would ask
[12:02]about this person is what does this person do for a living?
[12:05]Does this person meaning what I don't respect this person?
[12:08]Because Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala and they'd ask the prophet why what is
[12:18]this to do anything wrong?
[12:22]He says, "Because when a person does not work, what happens essentially
[12:29]is that they're going to live off of debt, waiting for that
[12:33]person to extend their arm of help, his own opinions.
[12:38]At the end of the day, he's a prophet of Allah subhana
[12:44]wa tala, a perfect human being." And so we're tasked in the
[12:52]religion of Islam to work to do everything.
[12:54]And not just in the world of finances.
[12:57]In the world of finances, we're all urged to plan to have
[13:03]a plan to have a a proper goal of getting promotion after
[13:11]promotion.
[13:10]We're starting our own business.
[13:13]and tal by itself is one of the most recommended acts in
[13:16]the religion of Islam.
[13:19]It's in fact very mustab now that plan is mandated upon us
[13:28]and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala urges us work because Allah subhanana wa
[13:38]ta'ala the one who wired us we all have wires and Allah
[13:40]subhanana wa ta'ala is the one who put the wires in the
[13:44]first place he knows our psychology because if a person for example
[13:48]people is in debt.
[13:50]They're facing uncertainty.
[13:53]There's war in society.
[13:54]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala knows that that person cannot think straight because
[14:00]there's so much blur in the mind, so many issues that the
[14:06]person is thinking of that they can't focus during worship or and
[14:11]therefore He says, "The moment a person knows for a fact that
[14:29]they're able to bring food on the table and they have a
[14:30]shelter, they have a family, they have a house, that person, that
[14:40]soul will calm down because it knows that at the end of
[14:47]the it's able to provide for the family.
[14:48]In fact, emphasizes and adds to it.
[14:54]He says a person should strive to have basically what you call
[14:58]an emergency plan for a year.
[15:01]says, "If you have the sustenance of a year, if you have
[15:13]the financial provision for a full year in case something happens, your
[15:17]back will feel lighter.
[15:20]You won't carry the burden that feels like a mountain sometimes of
[15:26]having to worry about life, of provisions, of food, of rent, of
[15:33]paying the house.
[15:35]And therefore, it's not against to work.
[15:39]It's not against to do, to strive, to try your best to
[15:46]get that thing, not just financially, but in everything.
[15:49]In fact, we're encouraged.
[15:54]The hadith says, "Strive to for this life.
[16:04]Work in this life as if you live forever and work towards
[16:10]the hereafter as if you'll die tomorrow." But sometimes on during speeches
[16:16]or in in Islamic circles we forget the first part.
[16:20]Work for this dunya and provide for the community.
[16:24]Provide for other people.
[16:25]Become a successful person financially in school and therefore the person a
[16:35]believer should have ambitions in this world.
[16:36]Ambitions.
[16:37]When you're a student you should strive to be the validictorian.
[16:42]or get into the best school possible, get get into the best
[16:48]program possible, get the best job possible, get the best promotion possible.
[16:54]So that's one aspect of it.
[16:58]But what goes against brothers and sisters is the moment the plan
[17:07]changes.
[17:08]The moment when we're planning for things to go this way, but
[17:17]the plan does not go this way.
[17:18]It goes this way.
[17:21]Shows up here.
[17:24]If a person looks up into the sky and says, "Ya Allah,
[17:30]why am I the one that has to go through this?
[17:35]There's not much here." means that when you plan and you work
[17:43]and things don't go your way, we raise our hands thanking Allah
[17:50]subhana wa ta'ala saying, "Ya Allah, I'm a fallible human being with
[17:56]limited knowledge, a new ya Allah, you are my creator and you
[18:03]have absolute infinite knowledge and I thank you because you opened my
[18:07]eyes.
[18:08]I did not know that this plan is the better plan for
[18:12]me even if it's difficult in the moment.
[18:14]But I thank you Ya Allah.
[18:17]Thank you Ya Allah for giving me this opportunity.
[18:21]That is and it's easier said than done.
[18:28]But what can help us in developing that is knowing all the
[18:35]time that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has our back.
[18:40]that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will support us every step of the
[18:48]way.
[18:46]And I promise you, if we live a life knowing that every
[18:51]moment of our life that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is with us,
[18:55]we'll live much happier.
[18:58]We'll become better people automatically.
[19:02]A Harvard University study recently or about a few years ago found
[19:09]that 51% of youth in America, so half of us here today
[19:15]go through or feel down, depressed or hopeless.
[19:21]So one in two of us, we either feel hopeless, depressed, or
[19:28]we feel down.
[19:30]We're not feeling it.
[19:33]And one big aspect of that brothers and sisters is feeling that
[19:39]you're all alone in this world that no one has your back.
[19:41]But the moment we realize that no Allah subhanaa tala is with
[19:47]us and Allah subhana wa ta'ala is closer to us than the
[19:54]jugular vein.
[19:53]If we carry that with us, we'll feel much happier.
[19:59]The stress if it's not fully gone should at least be reduced
[20:05]by 50 by 60 by 70 by 90%.
[20:10]Because Allah subhana wa ta'ala is there to support us and Allah
[20:15]subhanana wa ta'ala knows what's best for us.
[20:17]So if we have a plan and that plan is not good
[20:21]for us, Allah subhana wa ta'ala will change that plan.
[20:23]And Allah subhana wa ta'ala does it out of his mercy, out
[20:28]of his love.
[20:38]It is mentioned that one day there was a king who had
[20:48]a minister.
[20:49]His minister was known to say the following phrase.
[20:52]whatever happens whether it's good or bad he would say inshallah so
[20:59]one day the king goes on a hunting trip and for some
[21:08]reason the king comes back with one finger missing he went with
[21:12]10 fingers he came back with nine fingers and so in the
[21:17]palace there was essentially a state of national emergency people are running
[21:21]around nurse doctors are rushing trying to take care of the king.
[21:29]And so with all the commotion, the minister comes and the king
[21:38]looks at the minister and he's expecting, you know, some some sympathy,
[21:43]empathy, you know, some kind words, words of pettiness.
[21:48]The minister says inshallah.
[21:52]And so the king is frustrated.
[21:55]He tells him, "What what's wrong with you?
[21:57]I just lost a finger and you're telling me what can happen
[22:01]from this?" And so immediately out of anger, the king orders this
[22:06]minister of his, his right-hand man in the government, he orders him
[22:10]to go to prison.
[22:12]And the guards and the they escort this man to prison.
[22:15]Months go by and this king decides to go hunting again and
[22:24]it seems like the king went a bit far away from people
[22:30]from his own guards where he got lost in the forest and
[22:35]all of a sudden he's kidnapped by a tribe that is known
[22:44]to sacrifice human beings.
[22:45]for their gods.
[22:48]And so they take the king to the altar.
[22:54]They're preparing him for death for being slaughtered on the altar as
[22:59]a sacrifice to their gods.
[23:00]Right before they do so, one of the men there realizes that
[23:07]this man is missing a finger.
[23:08]And he and so he tells his tribe, "Hold on a second
[23:12]for a moment.
[23:12]This man's missing a finger and the sacrifice needs to be perfect.
[23:18]And so they let go of the king.
[23:20]The king rushes back to the palace full of worry and scared,
[23:27]traumatized.
[23:30]And the first person he wants to talk to is his minister.
[23:37]They bring the minister.
[23:40]He tells him the story.
[23:43]He tells him, "Now I understood why you said inshallah because Allah
[23:48]subhana wa ta'ala has a plan for everything." But then he asked
[23:52]him, he tells him, "Tell me this.
[23:53]If there was a if there was a benefit for me to
[23:58]lose a finger, what was the benefit of you being thrown in
[24:03]jail?" He tells him, "If I wasn't in jail, chances are I
[24:06]was hunting with you as well.
[24:07]And while you have nine fingers, I have 10 10 fingers.
[24:11]And I would have made a perfect sacrifice for these people.
[24:13]So being in jail saved my life.
[24:20]And that story, brothers and sisters, applies to every one of us.
[24:26]Inshallah, we're not going to be sacrificed anytime soon.
[24:32]But the reality brothers and sisters is that what happens to us
[24:37]always has a there's always a benefit for what's happening to us
[24:41]whether we know it or not.
[24:43]Sometimes we can understand that thing 10 15 years down the line
[24:49]we look back and we say subhan Allah that thing that happened
[24:54]to me there was a point for it that difficulty there were
[24:58]a lot of blessings that came out of it.
[25:03]And so Allah subhana wa ta'ala plans things for us his way
[25:08]and to have is to trust Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and to
[25:15]not complain about that.
[25:17]But the reality is also that sometimes we may not understand what
[25:23]the benefit is even 10 15 years down the line and we
[25:24]still look back and we have this feeling of pain inside.
[25:29]Why did this h thing happen to me 10, 15 years ago?
[25:34]I didn't have to go through this.
[25:35]Another reason, brothers and sisters, that why this may happen is because
[25:41]at the end of the day, we're not in heaven yet.
[25:44]Inshallah, we'll all end up there, but we're still in the exam
[25:52]room.
[25:50]We're still in the phase of testing.
[25:53]This world that we live in is not the ultimate goal.
[25:58]It's a place that's full of trials and tribulations.
[26:03]And Allah subhana wa ta'ala tells us very clearly.
[26:10]Do people really think that they'll say I believe we all claim
[26:15]and inshallah we all believe in Allah subhana wa tala and the
[26:18]religion of Islam and follow it.
[26:20]But Allah subhana wa ta says, "If you claim to believe, chances
[26:26]are I'm going to test you because this place is meant to
[26:34]test people." And so Allah subhana wa ta'ala tests us with things.
[26:37]And the reality is if Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala loves us, the
[26:44]challenges in this dunya will be greater.
[26:50]The imam he says he says if Allah subhana wa ta'ala loves
[27:02]a believer Allah subhanana wa ta'ala will drown him or her in
[27:15]it's as if that person feels they're drowning Ina in that moment
[27:23]a believer would raise his hand or her hand praying to Allah
[27:26]subhana wa tala.
[27:28]Oh Allah lift this burden from me.
[27:30]Allah would respond.
[27:32]He would say I hear you my servant.
[27:41]I'm very well able to change your circumstance in a split second.
[27:53]But I am saving something for you.
[27:59]I'm saving something for you.
[28:02]And if you want to get that thing that is better for
[28:07]you, you have to go through this challenge.
[28:12]Now this good thing may happen in this dunya.
[28:15]Maybe Allah subhanana wa ta'ala wants us to develop better in this
[28:22]duny and become a better human being here and we may realize
[28:25]it and we may not.
[28:27]And maybe what Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is saving for us is
[28:34]that little extra amount of taw that we we may desperately need
[28:41]on the day of judgment.
[28:42]And so Allah subhana wa ta'ala is essentially saying when you go
[28:49]through a challenge and you see other people going through a easy
[28:55]life, you perceive that they're going through an easy life.
[28:59]Don't get FOMO.
[29:02]I'm saving something better for you.
[29:05]Just like how a mother or a parent if they're able to
[29:11]help their child, chances are 99% of the time they're gonna help
[29:16]their child.
[29:18]Allah subhana wa ta'ala 100% of the time he wants to help
[29:23]us.
[29:22]And Allah subhanana wa ta'ala is not going to prevent something good
[29:29]from happening to us out of spite.
[29:30]No, Allah subhanana wa ta'ala is saving something better for us.
[29:36]And so it can be challenging.
[29:40]It can be difficult.
[29:41]But all it requires is to pray to Allah subhanana wa ta'ala
[29:46]and to have faith in Allah subhana wa tala to have absolute
[29:53]in Allah subhana tala trusting that Allah has our back.
[30:00]And there's one thing that we really need to know that can
[30:05]ease the burden of challenges in our lives.
[30:09]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala does not test a human being with something
[30:18]if he knows that they are not capable of achieving that thing.
[30:23]If Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala knows that you're not able to actually
[30:29]compete and succeed in this plan, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will not
[30:33]test you with that thing.
[30:38]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala does not burden us all beyond what it
[30:46]can bear.
[30:46]And so know that Allah subhanana wa ta'ala when he tests you
[30:51]with something and you feel that difficulty, know for a fact that
[30:56]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala believes in you and he knows that you're
[30:58]able to go through this trial and difficulty and you're able to
[31:04]pass it with flying colors and for every moment of it you
[31:10]are being rewarded for every second of it Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[31:14]is rewarding you for that challenge.
[31:18]And so even if it's challenging, when we know deep down that
[31:24]we're able to succeed, that we're able to pass with flying colors,
[31:28]that Allah subhana wa ta'ala will accept things from us mentally that
[31:34]helps us that equips us with an additional layer of mental strength,
[31:43]of physical strength to go to go to go through this challenge.
[31:56]One of the forms of tests Allah subhana wa ta'ala test people
[32:02]with is money.
[32:07]And you love money with intense love.
[32:12]Not just any love, it's intense love.
[32:15]And so sometimes Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tests us at the end
[32:20]of each year if there's any profit in our money.
[32:22]We're expected to pay our zakat to pay ours.
[32:27]And sometimes the thes is not a small amount.
[32:32]It's a hefty amount.
[32:37]20% for someone that's doing well off.
[32:38]It's a lot of money.
[32:41]But the challenge comes here.
[32:44]Do you trust Allah subhanana wa ta'ala or no?
[32:48]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala knows that you're able to pay and Allah
[32:54]subhanahu wa ta'ala no one will go broke if they pay theirs.
[32:56]No one will go broke if they pay they pay their zakat.
[33:00]No one ever in history has told us or will ever say,
[33:03]you know, I went broke because I pay my 20% share because
[33:10]Allah subhana wa ta'ala always always pays it back in multiple forms.
[33:15]And so that's one test.
[33:21]Another test is you see that this company is hiring and the
[33:30]pay is really well, but chances are this company is working in
[33:36]a field that is haram or dealing in haram transactions or supporting
[33:42]the wrong cause.
[33:45]And here's where kicks in.
[33:51]Are you going to choose that job?
[33:54]Are you going to depend on Allah subhana wa ta'ala and look
[33:58]for an alternative?
[34:01]And so Allah subhana wa ta'ala challenges us in many ways.
[34:06]But we should know that we're able to pass this test regardless
[34:12]of what it is with flying colors.
[34:16]And one way, brothers and sisters, and I'll end with this.
[34:20]One way to cope with difficulties and challenges, especially in a world
[34:27]like ours today that can be really daunting and depressing is reminding
[34:36]ourselves in the in the tragedies that the Alam had to go
[34:41]through.
[34:44]Im Hussein Ali in the most difficult moment ever recorded in history.
[34:52]I mean, he had his six-month-old child in his hand and the
[34:57]child is slain and he's all alone.
[35:00]All of his companions, all of his family members are died.
[35:06]He looks up to the sky and he says, "What gives me
[35:10]solace in this moment that is that all of this is in
[35:14]the eyes of Allah.
[35:14]following the plan of Allah.
[35:20]And so when you hear the story, when we remind ourselves of
[35:27]these tragedies, automatically we become more resilient.
[35:29]We become stronger.
[35:33]We know that we're emulating a role model like Abdah Hussein.
[35:43]When Abi Abdah Hussein was about to leave the city of Medina
[35:52]towards Mecca and from Mecca towards Kufa and ultimately being stopped in
[35:57]Kbala, im Hussein goes to the shrine of his grandfather and he
[36:03]makes a dua and this dua truly teaches us a secret about
[36:07]and a dua that we should always make.
[36:12]He says, he raises his hand supplicating towards Allah subhana tala.
[36:18]He says, "Ya Allah, I'm asking you, oh possessor of majesty and
[36:25]honor, by the right of this grave," and he's pointing pointing to
[36:29]the grave of his grandfather.
[36:39]choose for me.
[36:42]You see the trust in Allah, the submission to Allah, not dictating
[36:48]to Allah what what should happen, but submitting and trusting Allah subhanahu
[36:53]wa ta'ala enough to say, "Oh Allah, choose for me what's best
[36:59]for me.
[36:58]Choose for me what's good for me, what you think is good
[37:03]for me, what you know is good for me, and what pleases
[37:08]the prophet as well.
[37:10]That's total submission to Allah subhana wa ta'ala.
[37:15]That's total on Allah subhana wa ta'ala.
[37:21]Dependence on Allah subhanaa tala.
[37:24]Reliance on Allah.
[37:23]Trust on Allah.
[37:27]And therefore, brothers and sisters, when we pray to Allah subhana wa
[37:32]ta'ala, one of the common duas that we should have is that
[37:37]ya Allah put me where you want me to be.
[37:42]You want me to be this place?
[37:47]You know better.
[37:45]I want to be there rather than dictating.
[37:50]And of course we can we can pray to Allah subhana wa
[37:53]ta'ala asking him for what we want what we perceive to be
[37:58]good but there should always be that condition Allah yeah Allah give
[38:02]this thing to me if it's good for me if it's good
[38:09]for my because if it's not there's no point in it may
[38:15]become a nightmare.
[38:23]You perceive this thing to be good.
[38:27]You love it.
[38:30]And so when we chase something for years and years and years
[38:36]and we're aspiring to have that thing to get that thing regardless
[38:39]of what it is and we don't the and Allah subhanahu wa
[38:45]ta'ala should kick in knowing that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has the
[38:51]perfect plan for us and the highest form as we just mentioned
[39:00]is submitting to Allah subhana wa ta'ala not dictating on Allah subhana
[39:06]wa ta'ala just asking Allah subhana wa ta'ala to put us where
[39:10]he pleases us to be and therefore when they ask Abdah Husseinam
[39:17]they tell him yeah abdah okay you're going we can't convince you
[39:21]not to go and these were the one of the some of
[39:26]the most notable people in the history of Islam according to many
[39:30]Muslims, many Muslims rever these people and they're trying to dissuade Abdah
[39:36]from going to the battle and they tell him okay at the
[39:40]very least leave the woman and the children at home.
[39:44]The imam says Allah has willed he wants to see them as
[39:54]captives.
[39:56]He wants to see them being taken to sh because the journey
[40:08]of Abd Hussein does not stop on the 10th of it continued.
[40:13]On days like these, brothers and sisters, it was one of the
[40:22]biggest tragedies in Sham was the death of the three-year-old daughter of
[40:29]Im Hussein in this journey in addition to losing losing the men
[40:48]to losing Abdah Hussein.
[40:49]Even the children had to go through it.
[40:54]This daughter of Hussein that was beaten in Kbala, orphaned, witnessing her
[41:01]father being killed.
[41:04]On top of that, she's taken as captive, paraded in the streets
[41:11]of Kufa and then in the streets of Sham and ends up
[41:18]in a tent.
[41:18]And she wakes up one night in the tent by the palace
[41:29]of Yazid and she begins to cry and she says, "I just
[41:32]saw my father in my dream.
[41:33]Baba's coming tonight.
[41:37]And so the ladies and the orphans begin to cry.
[41:42]And as they the palace of Yazid hears the cries, they bring
[41:52]the head of Abdah Hussein.
[41:53]Salam in a dish in a covered dish to his daughter.
[42:00]She tells them, "I did not ask for food.
[42:03]I asked for my father." They tell her, "Open the dish and
[42:09]you will find what you want." She opens the dish and she
[42:12]finds the beautiful head of Abdah Hussein.
[42:15]Drenched in its blood.
[42:19]And she begins to cry.
[42:22]And she would speak to her father, this three-year-old daughter.
[42:25]She would say, "Father, who is the one that orphaned me?
[42:30]Father, who is the one that beheaded your head?
[42:34]Father, who is the one that drenched your blood that drenched your
[42:40]beard beard in your own blood?" She begins to say, "Father, father,"
[42:45]until she goes silent and she falls on the head of her
[42:53]father.
[42:52]Say the woman thought that this daughter of Hussein was finally able
[43:01]to go to sleep.
[43:05]Moments later, I immedi for foray has died.
[43:18]this three-year-old of Hussein.
[43:22]We ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to keep us on the path
[43:30]of the to inspire us by the by the of the we
[43:34]ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala that every time we go through a
[43:39]trial to keep us resilient to allow us to remind ourselves of
[43:42]what the tragedies of the to learn from them and we ask
[43:48]Allah subhana wa ta'ala on the day of judgment to consider us
[43:51]Hussein those who serve Abdah Hussein and his cause and Allah subhana
[43:59]wa ta'ala we ask him to grant us the intercession the intercession
[44:08]ofd on the day of judgment.
