[0:00]I would like to start off tonight's program with the recitation of

[0:06]the Holy Quran after Allah Muhammad [Music] Bismillah [Music] foreign [Music] [Music]

[1:03]foreign [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music]

[3:24]awesome I have some quick announcements to make before we commence to

[3:33]tonight's program stay up to date with Mecca's ongoing events through our

[3:37]socials and especially through our WhatsApp chats with our QR codes located

[3:41]near the prior Hall we can use this to stay in touch

[3:45]and up to date with our youth programs and uh speaking of

[3:48]our youth programs we have our snack and chat this Sunday on

[3:51]October 2nd at 3 pm this will be at Heritage Park it

[3:57]will feature Sports snacks and a youth discussion with q a with

[4:01]none other than our honorable Sweeney I always forgot to mention this

[4:09]uh but we are excited um I know I was sort of

[4:13]selling uh the the shirts uh during our booth at Heritage Park

[4:15]in the summer and I would claim that these shirts are aerodynamic

[4:19]and they are but back right for limited edition these shirts will

[4:26]get you through these harsh Winters this is our Mecca hoodie here

[5:19]with a lecture on the Hijra of the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam

[5:24]by say it program will conclude with uh the recitation of Dua

[5:30]with that being said I would be honored to welcome our beloved

[5:36]scholar says Muhammad passion um foreign [Music] foreign [Music] foreign marks a

[6:58]major turning point in Islamic history Allah changed in the life of

[7:07]rasulullah from the day he migrated from Mecca to Medina because when

[7:14]you study the life of the prophet you see that he was

[7:21]born in Makkah and he is from Mecca and he's from the

[7:23]tribe of quraish however at the age of 60 at the age

[7:32]of 53 left his hometown he left his City and he migrated

[7:40]to Medina and he began to proclaim the religion of Islam in

[7:46]Medina and he passed away 10 years later in Medina began to

[7:52]deliver the message of Islam at age 40.

[7:56]and he remained in Mecca persistent and resilient despite the challenges that

[8:08]he was facing every day for 13 years was delivering The Message

[8:12]of Islam and Makkah however those years in Mecca were very difficult

[8:18]years for rasulullah he would deliver he would speak and a handful

[8:28]of people would believe in him a very small group of Muslims

[8:34]a very small group of people accepted him and for 13 years

[8:39]he did not see that he has a great potential in delivering

[8:44]the message and he had a protector he had two protectors one

[8:49]was Khadijah his wife and the other was his uncle the father

[8:56]of Imam Ali they were afraid to mess with the prophet as

[9:02]long as was around as long as his uncle was alive they

[9:06]did not want to mess with him and his uncle is a

[9:13]very respected figure in the community so they did not mess with

[9:17]him however and Khadijah they die in the same year and that

[9:24]became known as the year of mourning and grief for rasulullah and

[9:30]it was after the death of Abu Talib quraish they said that's

[9:37]it we have to get rid of this man Muhammad we have

[9:41]to get rid of him because he's changing Society he's going against

[9:45]our norms he is telling people to go against our values they

[9:51]believed in Idols they believed in interest they believed in a racist

[9:55]Society where there was class systems and one group of people are

[10:01]better than others Islam comes and says verily the best in the

[10:07]eyes of God is the one who has the most taqwa not

[10:10]the one who has the most money not the one from such

[10:12]and such family they believed in idols there is no God other

[10:23]than Allah they wouldn't have minded if he comes and he says

[10:26]I want to introduce a God to you and his name is

[10:29]Allah and you have to worship him along with your other hundreds

[10:31]of gods hundreds of Idols there's no deity to be worshiped other

[10:40]than Allah and this was going against them this was going against

[10:47]their beliefs and there were so many wrong things that the meccan

[10:51]society and the Pagan Society was carrying out one of them was

[10:56]hatred to Woman and belittling woman a man he finds out that

[11:02]his wife gave birth to a daughter he would go and become

[11:05]very sad and become very ashamed because his wife is giving birth

[11:11]to a daughter well they used to bury an infant infant newborn

[11:30]baby because it's a girl they would bury that baby alive and

[11:36]Allah describes [Music] they used to bury their children alive and here

[11:48]rasulullah came against that so because people died people don't want to

[12:01]judge sometimes people take advantage of the injustice and here this is

[12:07]where rasulullah saw that he does not have the potential anymore in

[12:12]Mecca that's it and this is a lesson for all of us

[12:18]if I am living in a place or I'm at a job

[12:21]or I'm at a school I'm doing something this is for everything

[12:23]not only religion if you're at a job and you see that

[12:27]you do not have you do not Excel you're stagnant you're remaining

[12:30]the same you're they're not raising you you're not becoming better at

[12:35]what you do you're not producing something more then that's a sign

[12:39]for you either change do something different or leave go somewhere else

[12:43]some people they stay they say my life is miserable I'm suffering

[12:48]tell them why oh because my job is horrible because this and

[12:55]that okay go move and now when it comes to career when

[13:05]it comes to these type of things it's okay if for example

[13:07]I didn't make so much money but sometimes when it comes to

[13:10]religion when it comes to Faith now this becomes a serious issue

[13:15]and here we have the the concept of moving Hijra in Islam

[13:25]you cannot it is Haram to remain in a place where you

[13:31]do not have the freedom to practice your religion if I cannot

[13:35]practice my faith then I need to move then I need to

[13:38]go somewhere else where I can practice my faith now here a

[13:41]lot of times people ask ask this question they say who are

[13:44]living in America does this mean that I should move leave America

[13:48]and go live in karbala and Naja from these places officers know

[13:52]because here alhamdulillah we do have the freedom to practice our faith

[13:56]here alhamdulillah we have mosques we have schools we have hijab we

[14:01]have halal food we have Salah we have everything it's up to

[14:04]us now whether we make the decision or don't make the decision

[14:07]that's up to us however we do have the opportunity now imagine

[14:13]you were living in a society where they were Banning like right

[14:16]now they say in China the uyghurs they force them to eat

[14:22]pork they forbid them from praying they forbid them from Gathering now

[14:27]it would be Haram to live in that type of society you

[14:30]have to do Hijra you have to leave and we see this

[14:35]concept of Hijra concept of migrating for the sake of God now

[14:39]migrating for the sake of opportunities for the sake of work for

[14:44]the sake of Education this is something normal here this land America

[14:47]was founded upon migration for the sake of more opportunities a lot

[14:52]of our families a lot of people that you know came here

[14:54]because they wanted a better career because they wanted a better life

[14:58]because they wanted better schooling but also this land is also the

[15:04]land of migration for the sake of religion the first people that

[15:08]came to this land the pilgrims they came here for the sake

[15:10]of religious freedom I know for what my family they were persecuted

[15:16]in Iraq they had to leave and then they had to keep

[15:19]leaving and leaving and leaving this is where we found freedom to

[15:22]practice our faith this is where we found freedom to sit on

[15:27]the member and preach because in other countries you do not have

[15:30]that freedom so here we see this concept of migration moving and

[15:37]this is something we see in the Quran all the prophets perhaps

[15:42]most of the prophets they migrated they did not stay in one

[15:46]place Allah describes this is [Music] he left he was originally in

[16:04]Iraq they threw him in the fire when he goes and he

[16:08]breaks the idols they throw him in the fire where does he

[16:10]migrate to after they throw him in the fire did he stick

[16:12]around no he left him goes to Jerusalem he goes to Jerusalem

[16:17]and then from there he goes to Mecca and he keeps migrating

[16:20]and then Allah describes [Music] the only person who believed in him

[16:30]was Luke his nephew Hakeem did he stay in one place no

[16:44]Prophet Musa he was born in Egypt and then he goes to

[16:45]Madame and then he comes back to Egypt and then he goes

[16:50]all over he's traveling [Music] he left he escaped Egypt for his

[17:02]life so this is something that is accepted and we see in

[17:05]the Quran this is something that is accepted he also migrated he

[17:11]left Mecca Imam and Hussain left Medina he left Mecca he migrated

[17:14]and this is a sign for us and Allah when he saw

[17:19]that his life became very difficult his life was threatened he also

[17:23]decided to leave Makkah when did they decide to threaten the life

[17:30]of rasulullah after his uncle passes away he comes and he tells

[17:37]them that's it he gathered quraish he tells them we have to

[17:42]get rid of this problem in our society Muhammad we've given him

[17:45]all the offers we've given him everything to be quiet stop preaching

[17:48]his message and he continues so what should we do so some

[17:55]people they said let's trap him let's prison imprison him and then

[17:58]and then that's it you can't leave all the tribes they gather

[18:03]they imprisoned him some of them they said this might work but

[18:06]then once the season of Hajj comes the season of Hajj comes

[18:11]they're going to his family Hashem they're going to call the hajjad

[18:14]and they're going to say come and save this man so they're

[18:17]going to save him this is not going to work another one

[18:20]said let's kill him he said he replied that killing him is

[18:25]not going to work because if one person kills him then the

[18:31]all the tribes many Hashem is going to gather on that person

[18:36]and they're going to kill that person they're going benihashem were fiercely

[18:41]defending he comes and he tells them we are in many tribes

[18:47]here and we're all tired of this man Muhammad so let's attack

[18:53]him let's have 40 men one person from each tribe participates in

[18:57]attacking him and then many Hashem is not going to know who

[19:00]killed him you have 40 men from each tribe one person from

[19:05]each tribe they attack his house they kill him who are they

[19:08]going to seek the blood the Vengeance from this tribe it's not

[19:12]only this tribe this tribe it's this tribe they can't fight against

[19:17]everyone so therefore this was the plan of Abu Jahan now for

[19:21]age they think they're planning but they think Allah is not planning

[19:24]this is the problem the Believers they planned they plot however Allah

[19:31]also has a plan Allah is not just sitting around without a

[19:37]plan sometimes we look at the situation and the circumstances in the

[19:40]world and the suffering and the Injustice and we say you know

[19:43]why is this happening why is why is God not defending the

[19:49]Believers why is this and that has a plan the day of

[19:54]Ashura we just finished the day of assurance some people they might

[19:57]have looked at Imam and Hussein and his family and the suffering

[20:01]that they went through and they said why didn't God support Imam

[20:05]Hussain but now that we look at it a thousand years later

[20:08]we see Allah supported Imam Hussain in such a way that no

[20:12]one else is remembered like where his mission and his values and

[20:16]what he stood for is what's alive and yazid is dead so

[20:20]Allah has a plan and Allah says in the Quran to imprison

[20:34]you or to kill you or to kick you out they plot

[20:48]but Allah says well they have a plan but God also has

[20:54]a plan and Allah is the best of planners plotters now here

[20:57]does God have Makar Makkah is the evil plots against someone here

[21:05]Allah doesn't have an evil plot against anyone but Allah has Justice

[21:11]Allah Has the strength and if they do something that is bad

[21:18]that will be reciprocated in a way that they will not like

[21:22]so here they gathered to attack the house of rasulullah now here

[21:29]there's an informant working for the prophet who is that informant is

[21:38]the informant he's an angel he comes and he tells Allah exactly

[21:44]what they have planted plotted exactly what they have done he comes

[21:48]and he tells him this and this and this this is their

[21:50]plan tonight they're going to attack my house and tonight 40 men

[22:03]are going to attack and they're going to try to kill me

[22:08]and someone has to stay sleeping in the house someone has to

[22:10]stay in the home so that they know that the plan is

[22:14]there because the prophet is supposed to escape while someone is sleeping

[22:18]in the house are you willing to sleep in my bed knowing

[22:22]it's going to be attacked imagine if someone your best friend your

[22:27]brother your family your son your daughter whoever it is they come

[22:32]and they tell you tonight I'm going to be attacked for sure

[22:34]and Imam Ali knows the prophet is not a liar he knows

[22:38]the prophet is very truthful in what he's saying are you willing

[22:41]to sleep in this bed knowing it's going to be attacked who

[22:44]who answers yes to this question who would say yes would I

[22:49]say yet would someone say yes to their brother to their father

[22:54]to their mother no one else says yes shut up he tells

[22:58]him if I sleep in your bed will you be safe he

[23:05]doesn't say will I be safe he says will you be safe

[23:10]tells him yes I will be safe he tells him will my

[23:16]faith be safe he says yes your faith will also be saved

[23:19]amironment says that I will sleep in your bed I'll be there

[23:24]I will Allah and here he goes and he sleeps in the

[23:33]bed of the Prophet Allah he leaves at night and he takes

[23:39]some sand and he leaves right in front of them they're looking

[23:42]at the house but he takes some sand and he throws it

[23:46]towards their face and he says may the eyes be blinded and

[23:50]they cannot see when he left right in front of them right

[23:52]in front of them he walked by is sleeping in the house

[24:06]and in the bed of the prophet and it's going to be

[24:08]attacked here the Hadith and the tafsir of this verse and from

[24:24]their people there's someone who sells themselves sells their life for the

[24:29]sake of God's satisfaction and Allah is compassionate with those who do

[24:38]these things the angels I have made you brothers and I have

[24:51]made Muhammad and Ali Brothers look at Ali he's willing to sacrifice

[24:54]his life for his brother which one of you is willing to

[24:59]sacrifice his life for his brother are you willing to sacrifice for

[25:04]me are you willing to sacrifice none of them are so he

[25:09]says therefore you go to the Earth and you protect him and

[25:14]you protect Ali so the Angels they come down one by his

[25:16]feet one by his head and they tell him men myth look

[25:21]yeah who is like you oh Ali where Allah tells the Angels

[25:29]learn from him you have something to learn from him that night

[25:34]later on he talks about it he says that night was the

[25:39]most comfortable sleep that I slept in my life thank you how

[25:43]would we sleep knowing it's going to be attacked we would be

[25:48]shivering we would be shaking we'd be nervous we wouldn't even sleep

[25:51]he says that night I slept and rasulullah left they attacked the

[25:57]house but they saw it was Imam Ali and they didn't want

[26:02]the blood of another one from benihashem to be on their hand

[26:05]they just wanted to get rid of rasulullah and they say Imam

[26:10]Ali there so they changed their plot gets foiled and that's it

[26:15]foreign he leaves now the prophet leaves and he heads towards a

[26:26]mountain by the name of jebelathor if you've been to Makkah Mecca

[26:31]is a valley it's surrounded by mountains well it used to be

[26:36]surrounded by mountains now it's surrounded by hotels and palaces for the

[26:41]Kings and very nice Starbucks and McDonald's and all of these things

[26:46]unfortunately a lot of the spirituality is taken away but before you

[26:50]it's a valley the Kappa is built in a valley and surrounding

[26:56]our mountains and one of these mountains is called and in it

[27:03]there is a cave is the cave that the prophet used to

[27:10]meditate in before his in the early prophethood that's where he used

[27:17]to go meditate in this is a mountain by the name of

[27:23]jabala Thor he go the prophet he goes up the mountain and

[27:26]on his way leaving Mecca historians say that he saw Abu Bakr

[27:33]now he's been seen by a person so they're going to come

[27:39]and ask and question Abu Bakr where was where was he where

[27:41]was Muhammad this and that so he took him with him he

[27:45]took him with him and here the prophets and Abu Bakr they

[27:50]head up the cave and rasulullah he hides in a cave he

[27:57]enters into a cave and he hides in the cave and there

[28:02]as soon as the plot was foiled the sun came out they

[28:07]raised all of the alarms searched for Muhammad they used all of

[28:15]their experts all of their trackers and that's it this man is

[28:19]a fugitive you have to search for him they raised all the

[28:24]alarms and they began to search for rasulullah so there were at

[28:28]that time there were people that used to look at the footsteps

[28:31]and they could track it all the way miles down they track

[28:37]the footsteps of rasulullah and they see it goes up that mountain

[28:41]and at the door of this cave at the entrance of the

[28:47]cave but they come to the cave and they see something strange

[28:49]they see in front of the cave there is what a spider

[28:57]web a Spider Web the spider web has closed the entrance the

[29:01]whole entrance the small entrance of the cave it's all closed by

[29:04]the spider web and in front of that there's a pigeons that

[29:09]have laid eggs and they're sitting there so these guys they're thinking

[29:13]uh Spider is not going to come you know this fast it's

[29:17]going to come and make a web this may this seems like

[29:20]this is something that has been here for a very long time

[29:22]and a pigeon is not going to come and lay eggs if

[29:26]it's if a place that has been left for a very long

[29:29]time a pigeon is going to come and lay eggs now the

[29:32]prophet was in there the prophet was in there but Allah protected

[29:37]him with that miracle and Allah stayed according to the narrations by

[29:45]the way why are we talking about the Hijra of the Prophet

[29:49]because the prophet left and this is why the Islamic calendar begins

[29:55]in in Rabia this is the hijrah of the prophet of course

[30:00]the Muslims they they begin in maharram but the hijrah of the

[30:05]Prophet was in rabiya and on the 12th of the Prophet arrives

[30:07]to Madina so it was a a 12-day journey it was a

[30:13]difficult Journey he left Mecca and there he was in the cave

[30:21]now Allah mentions this if rasulullah does not have supporters God doesn't

[30:32]supporter they kicked him out of Mecca they kicked him out of

[30:38]the out of it they kicked him out of his own home

[30:41]the home of his ancestors his family and what crime has he

[30:46]the truthful and the trustworthy they are a person now here in

[30:59]the Quran says there's two in the cave what does this mean

[31:07]now here some people they have the audacity to come and say

[31:13]that rasulullah was the one who's afraid and Abu Bakr is telling

[31:16]him look at the look at the level of disrespect that some

[31:20]have for the prophet here obviously it shows that one one of

[31:24]them is afraid one of them is really scared so he tells

[31:32]him he's telling his companion don't be afraid and Allah God is

[31:37]with us God will protect us foreign [Music] the Quran it's very

[32:11]important how we take the tafsir sometimes you read a verse and

[32:14]you might think it means something but we have to take the

[32:20]tafsir from the rightful sources and the the proof that this is

[32:29]that this is not Abu Bakr it's because and he's and he

[32:35]supported him with an army he supported him with an army that

[32:38]you do not see who's going to receive the support of an

[32:42]army that we don't see the Angels the prophet obviously the prophets

[33:00]and the word of God and the prophet is that which excels

[33:10]now this is the only time Abu Bakr is referenced in the

[33:15]Quran with this and if you look at it does not prove

[33:19]the Abu Bakr had a great role or something just just look

[33:26]at it the way Prophet now yes he was with the prophet

[33:33]he was with the prophet but that does not give Abu Bakr

[33:39]that level of significance but on that day that day the day

[33:42]of the hijrah of the prophets who is the one who made

[33:48]the ultimate sacrifice other than Allah foreign who slept in the bed

[33:53]of the Prophet knowing it's going to be attacked but today it's

[33:57]unfortunate that you see that Imam Ali does not receive that praise

[34:03]that he deserves someone who puts his life on the line someone

[34:07]who sacrifices someone who is ready to give up his own life

[34:12]for the sake of rasulullah so after Imam Ali slept in the

[34:17]bed of the prophet he comes to the god of course without

[34:19]the knowing he comes to the cave and he brings food to

[34:27]the prophet and he supports him and here he tells them bring

[34:31]two camels and Abu Bakr he tells them I want to purchase

[34:33]this I have camels if we are going to use your camels

[34:41]I'm going to purchase them from you meaning he wants the whole

[34:44]Hijra to be something from his money not from someone else's money

[34:47]here and there so he purchased them and Allah after three days

[34:54]he leaves now leaving Makkah to go to to go to Medina

[35:00]there is a path to go in the desert path that was

[35:06]the main route and then there's the path that is on the

[35:11]ocean going through the ocean of Jada and that way he took

[35:13]that different path so that people would not follow him because he's

[35:16]a fugitive and the people of Mecca they're following him so rasulullah

[35:21]escaped and he tells him he tells him I have left I

[35:28]want you to return all of the trust that people entrusted me

[35:32]with people entrusted me with money subhanallah people did not believe in

[35:35]him as a prophet but they would keep their money with him

[35:39]because they knew he was I mean they knew he was a

[35:43]person who was honest so rasulullah tells Imam Ali give people back

[35:47]their money and I want you to bring back the three falatlan

[35:53]there is Fatima Fatima been to Assad the mother of Imam Ali

[35:58]Fatima to Muhammad and Fatima zubair the three rasulullah to bring them

[36:08]to Medina so rasulullah he left he left and he was with

[36:14]Abu Bakr and when the prophet was leaving Mecca at the border

[36:18]of Makkah when he was leaving he looked back at Mecca and

[36:21]he began to cry because this is his home this is his

[36:24]land he's been kicked out of his own home because he's delivering

[36:31]The Message of Islam so at that moment Allah tells him the

[36:40]one who brought the Quran to you is going to make you

[36:45]come back and here rasulullah he knew that he's going to come

[36:48]back to Mecca and nine years later he conquers Makkah and he

[36:54]is able to take over Makkah but it did not come easy

[36:58]it came with Jihad it came with struggle it came with blood

[37:01]and tears and a lot of difficulty left when the prophet left

[37:09]they had told people inform us if you see Allah one of

[37:16]those men his name is he came to capture rasulullah and here

[37:24]one of the Sunni narrators he says they captured us that's it

[37:31]he caught us Allah he says oh Allah he was on his

[37:48]horse his horse just dropped him he fell to the ground and

[37:55]this man he realized that the Dua of rasulullah is a powerful

[37:58]da so he tells him I'm not going to mess with you

[38:03]that's it he tells Allah how can I help you he saw

[38:05]that he was a man who was answered so he changed 180

[38:09]degrees he tells him how can I help you he tells him

[38:14]remove the evils of college from us so quraish they would come

[38:19]and see Soraka did you see Muhammad instead of telling them he

[38:22]went this way he would tell them he went that way he

[38:24]would mislead them he was he would mislead them and the prophet

[38:29]was able to carry on Another Place rasulullah Another Story there are

[38:35]several stories from the hijrah of the Prophet another story he stopped

[38:39]by a tent in the middle of the desert and there was

[38:44]a lady who had a small sheep a small lamb um and

[38:50]they were hungry so he asked her is there something for us

[38:55]to drink is there some milk for us to drink she tells

[38:58]them I have the slam and it doesn't even have milk it's

[39:02]a it's a weak lamb it doesn't have anything do you give

[39:06]me permission to milk the lamb to milk it so rasulullah he

[39:12]began to milk it and so much milk came out because of

[39:16]the Baraka of rasulullah and there was a tree in that area

[39:19]where it was dead rasulullah he touched it and that tree came

[39:24]to life and that became a one of the Miracles of rasulullah

[39:30]he kept going closer and closer to Madina now why is he

[39:35]going to go into his people in Madina they came they saw

[39:44]the prophet rasulullah he taught them about Islam they go back and

[39:46]they spread their Message of Islam subhanallah some people they accept the

[39:50]message and some people they do not so they invited him but

[39:54]the prophet when he reached Madina inshallah you all can go to

[40:00]Medina and you all can go and visit the prophets he reached

[40:04]a village outside of Medina and the name of Medina was not

[40:08]Madina at that time it was yathrop he reached this Village by

[40:14]the name of OBA he reached Koba there he tells the people

[40:20]of God they're waiting for him they tell him enter into Medina

[40:22]he says I will not enter until it comes I'm waiting Friday

[40:29]so he waited he waited for a while and now rasulullah builds

[40:34]the first Masjid in Islam because in Makkah he didn't have the

[40:38]freedom to build the Masjid so they gather and they build that

[40:41]Masjid what's the name of the Masjid the city the village of

[40:48]OBA and it's called Masjid and Allah talks about this Masjid in

[40:52]the Quran here rasulullah built this Masjid and there's a very nice

[41:11]stories about the building of the Masjid of rasulullah was there he

[41:16]was building and he's carrying each one is carrying one brick a

[41:20]mod is carrying two or three so some of them there were

[43:45]he tells them I will follow this camel where it goes wherever

[44:40]said how can you be beneath me how can we be above

[44:43]you you are rasulullah he said no I don't want to burden

[44:49]you and he ended up staying on the lower part of the

[44:51]house until they built Masjid and Nabi and he built his own

[44:53]house so this was a short while stayed there and then the

[45:01]prophet was able to build Masjid Masjid and Nabi which is the

[45:05]home of the prophet and the grave sites of the prophet and

[45:10]the second holiest Masjid in Islam now of course Masjid if you

[45:13]go there from Medina the Hadith says if you go to Masjid

[45:16]Koba you pray two Allah will give you the tawab of performing

[45:21]of umrah so this is why when we go to Hajj when

[45:26]we go to amra sometimes some people every day they go several

[45:30]times or once or twice they go and they pray and Masjid

[45:33]we ask Allah to purify our hearts so that we are able

[45:40]to free ourselves from the restrictions that are holding us that are

[45:45]keeping us away from God if there's something keeping you then leave
