[0:01][Music] we all have a duty towards the preservation and the propagation
[0:11]of the message of imam hussein indeed one of the best ways
[0:16]to work towards the reappearance of imam al-mahdiyah is through promoting the
[0:24]values of carmella imam hussain media group is the only shia television
[0:29]network that broadcast globally in five different languages arabic farsi turkish or
[0:35]do and english we are appealing to the lovers of worldwide to
[0:40]support the channel such that it may continue its global operations the
[0:44]hussain media group is seeking 1 000 partners to pledge to a
[0:50]14 pound contribution per month this will allow the channel to sustain
[0:54]its operating costs as we continue to spread the message of imam
[1:00]alejandra in multiple languages across the globe you be a part of
[1:05]this great legacy and donate today you can pledge in two ways
[1:09]www dot saying three dot tv slash donate we'll take you down
[1:16]to our donation page where you can play it monthly or you
[1:20]can call or what's up us on double zero double four seven
[1:24]nine three double nine one seven one six three i'm on fishing
[1:37]tv your gateway to karbala [Music] hey [Music] [Music] the theory of
[2:41]evolution is a theory that still evokes a negative response i'm sure
[2:45]you'll all agree in religious circles in muslim circles in christian circles
[2:51]you'll find that people look at the theory of evolution with contempt
[2:58]they believe that you're questioning intelligent design and your questioning therefore god
[3:08]and revelation when you subscribe to evolutionary theory and so you find
[3:18]that certain muslim majority countries actually ban the discussion of evolution when
[3:24]i say they ban the discussion of evolution what i mean by
[3:29]that is that if you were to look in saudi arabia or
[3:32]algeria or even oman there was a period of time where the
[3:39]discussion of evolution of charles darwin and what was postulated was not
[3:46]allowed to be taught even i'm sure many of the listeners would
[3:54]agree that even when we were growing up as soon as you
[3:58]heard evolution you thought no i don't believe in this no this
[4:01]is haram we do not subscribe to evolution are you questioning god's
[4:06]creation are you saying that we evolved for example in our simple
[4:11]understanding that we evolved for example from the monkey or the ape
[4:17]and so on and so forth and so therefore when we discussed
[4:22]yesterday about religion's relationship with science we said that christianity had a
[4:32]major problem rehabilitating itself and recovering from the way it treated science
[4:41]and hence when we saw the renaissance and when we saw the
[4:49]reformation we saw a period where enlightenment was in some cases to
[4:52]be far away from what revelation was giving us the reality is
[4:57]that even if i'm going to discuss evolution whether it's evolution in
[5:02]the quran or evolution generally it's important for me to discuss it
[5:07]for a couple of reasons the first reason is because in the
[5:13]same way thermodynamics and gravity are accepted in the scientific community likewise
[5:19]evolution is accepted in the scientific community yes many muslims will turn
[5:24]around and say it's only a theory it's a theory that can
[5:27]be questioned it's a theory that can be debated whether we like
[5:30]it or we don't in the world today there are more people
[5:32]who are going to subscribe to what darwin has discussed when talking
[5:41]about the origin of species when talking about natural selection then what
[5:48]religion puts forward that's on the first level but on the second
[5:54]level there shouldn't be a problem discussing the physical world because the
[6:03]physical world to me as a muslim is a subpart of the
[6:06]whole system the physical world isn't the whole system it's a subpart
[6:15]of the whole system there are many other aspects of life that
[6:24]require discussion that which we observe of the natural laws or the
[6:32]natural sciences is one part of our understanding of what this life
[6:37]is all about we unfortunately when we get scared about discussing evolution
[6:45]it's as if we're falling into the trap of those who want
[6:49]us to believe that this discussion is the be-all and end-all for
[6:55]me discussing the development of primates the discussion of the development of
[7:03]different creatures in the plant kingdom in the animal kingdom in the
[7:09]human kingdom it's a wonderful discussion why would i shy away from
[7:14]it there are certain scholars in islamic history who people allude to
[7:18]their discussions about evolution for example so it's not like there weren't
[7:27]certain discussions about the development of the human being whether you looked
[7:31]at some works which are attributed to the likes of jahil or
[7:36]tusi or mascara even all of them in one way or the
[7:42]other have sought to understand our development as human beings when you
[7:48]hear terms such as homo erectus homo sapiens understanding the development of
[7:58]different creatures as well as using archaeological evidence using fossils this is
[8:04]something wonderful because look one thing we don't ever want to fall
[8:08]into is this trap that there's a war between the evolutionists and
[8:16]the creationists because the moment a creationist says i agree with the
[8:21]theory of evolution kill him burn him the moment someone who believes
[8:29]that the theory of evolution says listen there's a possibility of intelligent
[8:33]design here the likes of anthony flew who were avid atheists their
[8:41]whole life and then become deists right at the end where they
[8:47]recognize that you know what the aristotelian god may have some truth
[8:52]there needs to be an intelligent designer who's powerful this structure that
[8:56]we see in front of us too complex there may be randoms
[9:00]in this world but not enough for me to deny that there
[9:02]must have been an intelligent designer what we can never fall into
[9:10]is this trap that i'm purely a creationist and i'm anti-evolution or
[9:16]the other side i'm purely evolution and i don't want to hear
[9:19]about creation because the reality is that our knowledge of the physical
[9:26]world is still in flux do you agree even in the world
[9:31]of science what's it mainly about they want you to continue to
[9:35]observe continue to experiment hypothesis come back and forth and give your
[9:39]arguments back and forth even our knowledge of the world there are
[9:43]certain things we know about dna there's no way that even our
[9:48]own muslim scholars in some cases 500 years ago that no many
[9:53]of them didn't know about some of the things we know about
[9:57]dna many of them may have looked at certain aspects of natural
[10:02]selection or adaptation may have thought you know what darwin and wallace
[10:08]have a point over here there's something there's something true here in
[10:12]the same way if i turn that around if you were living
[10:16]in the time of for example the holy prophet peace be upon
[10:19]him as family and someone bought you an iphone you'd look at
[10:25]that as a miracle whereas today you look at it as the
[10:27]development of science if you were living in the time of the
[10:32]holy prophet peace be upon him and his family and at that
[10:34]time someone was showing you for example this idea that there one
[10:37]day will be a machine with wings that'll take you up above
[10:41]the seventh heaven you'll be like that's absurd but now we fly
[10:43]on them or we used to pre-call it so now we don't
[10:47]want to fall in this trap where we give conclusions about the
[10:52]natural world rather we want to enjoy the way darwin enjoyed now
[10:57]someone might call me um an apostate after i just said that
[11:01]line we should enjoy the way who enjoyed darwin how dare you
[11:10]say we should enjoy the way darwin enjoyed darwin loves to travel
[11:15]darwin loves to observe he does in reality what the quran wants
[11:23]him to do because the quran itself if you look for example
[11:28]surah 29 verse 20 of the quran my dear viewers at home
[11:32]today i'm going to make you move from one side of the
[11:35]quran to the other and i want a cut or a commission
[11:38]of your foreign surah 29 of the quran verse number 20 darwin
[11:44]when he travels to south america aboard hms beagle when he travels
[11:50]to south america and he travels to australia he's traveling to observe
[12:00]life to observe different forms of life do we agree because we
[12:07]have to admit there is a close evolutionary relationship amongst all primates
[12:13]we agree with those who espouse randomness one thing is that there
[12:24]is a close relationship between all primates darwin in surah 29 verse
[12:35]20 when the quran says travel in the earth and see how
[12:43]creation was originated what's he doing because what's the lead up to
[12:51]his theory darwin doesn't just wake up one day and have a
[12:56]theory what's the lead up to his theory about how we came
[13:00]about or how we evolved or how we developed or how we
[13:08]integrated or how we adapt adapted darwin goes to south america and
[13:12]goes to australia he looks at all these different forms of plants
[13:15]and animals and it's so wonderful this is intriguing those who go
[13:19]deep sea diving 60 feet below they're seeing all these different forms
[13:23]of animals different creations of god creations that you know of creatures
[13:27]that you don't and he becomes intrigued by this why because what
[13:32]he looks at he sees finches he sees beaks of different shapes
[13:38]he begins to ask a question about these animals because the birds
[13:44]in this world are wonderful the birds are beautiful wherever you travel
[13:48]on the earth and you come across a new bird and you're
[13:50]looking at that bird and you're thinking to yourself wow some of
[13:54]us may think that this has come purely from intelligent design others
[13:59]might think it's randomness but darwin begins to look and he begins
[14:04]to ask the question these are all finches but they look different
[14:07]to each other how have they adapted to their environment and how
[14:14]do they survive because there must be something about how we've survived
[14:21]how if animals survived all this time there are certain aspects of
[14:28]what then is developed that i'm sure you'll all agree with me
[14:32]on species that are now exist are now extinct that existed a
[14:41]long time ago do we all agree on that so does islam
[14:44]believe in dinosaurs listen if fossils are showing me then why should
[14:48]i reject does islam believe in dinosaurs yes does evolution say that
[14:57]there are species that are now extinct that lived a long time
[15:02]ago yes does evolution say that the age of this earth spans
[15:05]billions of years yes do we agree with that as muslims yes
[15:08]i showed yesterday nabi adam father of this generation doesn't mean that
[15:14]there weren't generations before him do we also agree to an incredible
[15:20]diversity in life forms this is darwin there's an incredible diversity in
[15:27]life forms or there isn't also similarity across these species so diversity
[15:37]and similarity do we all agree there's only certain areas that we
[15:45]may differ but where we agree on with darwin is unless you
[15:48]travel on this earth and unless you observe go to solar 67
[15:52]verse number three of the quran surah 67 verse number three many
[15:57]of you at home would have read this particular surah and verse
[16:00]you go to suratul mulk and when you go to surah allah
[16:04]subhanahu wa ta'ala wants you to be a scientist being a scientist
[16:09]is simply you studying the laws of the universe the constants you're
[16:14]not doing anything blasphemous he created the seven heavenlies above lays you
[16:26]will not see in the creation of god any defect or incringuity
[16:30]but the main thing is what does god want us to do
[16:34]to look at his creation do you agree no look again don't
[16:40]just look once don't just look and say yes it exists don't
[16:43]just look and start giving theories look again think back ask yourself
[16:48]how does all this come about someone says but do you know
[16:53]the problem with you religious people yes your quran we admit it
[16:56]says travel on the earth be like darwin that we agree with
[16:59]and your quran says look like darwin looked and no don't just
[17:03]look once keep looking again bring those eyes back and have a
[17:08]look again problem with you guys is you end up using rational
[17:11]and not always using the empirical and you end up using philosophy
[17:16]alongside science firstly if you're telling me that every conclusion i reach
[17:23]has to be something that i see or i touch or i
[17:26]taste or i smell or i hear the empirical even that that
[17:29]you're telling me comes from rational sentence that sentence can that be
[17:36]disproved in a science lab that you can only use your senses
[17:39]anything outside of the senses cannot be used no so even that
[17:43]is not something that i can even examine in a lab secondly
[17:50]they're right because i will use some philosophy because this is only
[17:58]a subpart of the world i live in not the violet and
[18:02]all when i'm gonna use philosophy in relation to all this creation
[18:06]it's because i come across certain moments where observation stops when i
[18:17]come across certain moments where observation stops after that what do i
[18:23]do you observe and i observe after that you describe and i
[18:29]describe we go in a world you want to call it philosophy
[18:31]or we'll call it speculation which moment do scientists across the board
[18:38]agree on is the moment that beef that before that we can't
[18:42]use scientific apparatus to know exactly what happened what do they call
[18:49]that moment planck's moment big bang is discussed if you go to
[18:55]and i'm not going to say the quran look i don't like
[18:58]falling into the strap of the quran discusses big bang what i
[19:02]do know is that the quran gives you certain guidances on then
[19:05]you doing further research with the tools that you have after big
[19:11]bang we're able to use apparatus mathematics science and so on planck's
[19:15]moment before that we go in a world of asking what's going
[19:19]on because let's all go surah 21 my dear brother sisters people
[19:22]always ask big bang in the quran it doesn't discuss the big
[19:24]bang doesn't it it certainly discusses something that's happening and the primordial
[19:29]soup let's go to surah 21 of the quran verse number 30.
[19:34]we've all agreed that the genetic code begins cells begin to form
[19:38]they're all increa incorporated in life on earth the metabolism energy is
[19:42]formed in body organisms okay um they utilize food like sugars carbohydrates
[19:50]all of this i see occurs in what's known in a water
[19:56]basin known as the primordial soup because they'll always say to you
[20:01]do you know yes sir do you know said do you know
[20:03]do you know how did we all come about randomly you know
[20:08]this genetic code and cells begin to form there's certain reactions and
[20:14]you the human being come about that's one angle and they say
[20:24]that what happens is all this occurs in a water base and
[20:27]known as the primordial soup i want everybody at home to discuss
[20:30]this with their families the water basin known as the primordial soup
[20:35]if sometimes now you ask online if you asked online how did
[20:41]life begin you'll see online that says life originated near a deep
[20:53]sea hyperthermal vent we have a water basin we have soup we
[20:57]have a deep sea hyper thermal vent water water water water water
[21:00]okay sula 21 30.
[21:06]do those who not believe in our theory of intelligent design the
[21:21]heavens and the earth were one piece and then we opened them
[21:26]up we expanded them we claimed them asunder what do we normally
[21:30]call this the big bang people normally call the big bang i
[21:32]don't want to fall in the strap of saying the quran is
[21:35]a science book the quran and so on so forth but heavens
[21:38]and the earth were one and then the world of science before
[21:47]this moment cannot give you any more discussion you ask hawking you
[21:53]ask others planck's moment before that it's either speculation or it's philosophy
[22:02]i really don't mind because that's the limitations of science science observe
[22:08]observe observe observe then what then how do i understand the meaning
[22:14]of this whole life because this is only a subset of life
[22:16]the quran says no no hold on observe the fact that the
[22:23]heavens and the earth at one moment everything that's alive is islam
[22:44]against evolution no why should it be if evolution is telling me
[22:49]about a genetic code it's telling me about the development from a
[22:54]single cell no problem no problem and it's talking about reactions according
[22:59]in this uh occurring in this primordial soup sorry if i'm making
[23:03]you guys hungry i know if that is only about an hour
[23:07]away water basin primordial soup the quran here says we created everything
[23:16]from from what water is the source of all creatures life and
[23:24]almost all creatures what are they made up of the most water
[23:30]muslims why have you got a problem with the theory of evolution
[23:36]if it says that there are adaptations because of those finches we
[23:42]agree if it says natural selection we agree selective types of breeding
[23:46]that how do we have antibiotics and certain vaccines you're trying to
[23:48]see survival who's going to survive some people survive some don't if
[23:54]you're telling me about a water basin and a primordial soup we
[23:58]agree you know many times when muslims say uh you ask a
[24:05]muslim how were you created they always say allah said so what's
[24:08]wrong maybe our understanding of intelligence design darwin had found better than
[24:18]we have said it says the um he wants something he says
[24:28]being it will be i have no doubt because i believe in
[24:33]a god where he is beyond the dimensions of time and space
[24:37]big bang is for us before that before planck's moment we go
[24:46]to an intelligent designer that's only me but if you're telling me
[24:50]evolution is telling me that there's mutations that occur in the environment
[24:56]definitely why not if evolution is telling me that there's adaptations in
[25:00]the environment of course there are even us as human beings how
[25:04]did we survive in certain areas are there animals how do they
[25:08]survive in areas some their beaks are bigger some there you look
[25:10]at the moth at one time moths were all eaten up because
[25:13]they had different colors then when there was smog in london the
[25:15]darker the more the more it survived so even in the world
[25:21]of moths there is an adaptation to the environment there are some
[25:26]people who survive some oth don't we have people in our family
[25:33]genetically they survive others heart attack 38 41 47 yes survival of
[25:37]the fittest but there's a difference while we agree with survival of
[25:51]the fittest human a human who adapts a human who procreates a
[25:56]human who's so similar to other primates we agree primates where's the
[26:03]difference for us first and foremost is that this human is the
[26:12]most honored creation in this whole soup in the quran the human
[26:17]is honored in many ways first the spirit of the lord is
[26:23]breathed into the human that is not something we necessarily see when
[26:29]i'm discussing science but not the science need to take that leap
[26:32]no problem let science remain where science is the human when god
[26:40]says that we breathe our spirit into the human that takes you
[26:46]above being purely physical now you are soul and body and because
[26:53]of that what do you become because that first interaction of soul
[26:58]and body i mentioned yesterday chapter 7 verse 172 there is this
[27:04]discussion between god and souls do you remember that discussion i don't
[27:10]remember that discussion but the quran says there was a discussion where
[27:14]we aren't just evolved creatures bring me fossils and show me when
[27:21]i lived and show me all the laws of how i evolved
[27:22]i haven't got a problem with that but either human being according
[27:29]to islam first and foremost i'm honored because of the soul the
[27:37]lord gave me i'm not just physical there are animals who live
[27:39]in this world they can't recollect they can't appreciate history they can't
[27:45]appreciate art even language is a gift i've been given others haven't
[27:52]we used to have an african grey parrot at home casco african
[27:58]grey can speak but how much do you have to speak for
[28:05]it to speak aloe allo hello hello african grey can become shakespeare
[28:12]can become lao ju can become jibran the human being alone the
[28:23]language that they have god mentions as fundamental and differentiating with all
[28:32]other creatures famous sword 55 go quickly to surah 55 of the
[28:35]holy quran my dear brothers sisters all of you know the surah
[28:38]inside out but it reminds us that there is a difference between
[28:41]us and the other primates who i do not deny that we're
[28:45]similar to but there's certain differences which make me a human and
[28:51]which make you as crazy as a monkey sort of 55 verse
[28:56]number what verse number one read it for me please my dearest
[28:59]brother minhal read me the first few verses the merciful these translations
[29:15]i'm only using what's there i could go deeper into the original
[29:18]it's a molecule no problem in s who can write who can
[29:33]produce what the human has produced who can recollect and reflect on
[29:38]their history now do you see what i'm doing if i stick
[29:40]to science as the be-all and end-all i haven't described the human
[29:45]but if i say science is a subset let's observe let's appreciate
[29:48]let's look at the fossils then i'm open for more discussion about
[29:53]the greatness of that human being therefore how does allah talk about
[29:58]the human being in the quran surah 17 verse number 70 go
[30:02]to surah 17 verse number 17.
[30:04]if ever anyone asks you you know how does islam view the
[30:06]human being this ayah is wonderful surah 17 my dear brother sisters
[30:11]at home verse number 70 adam i don't even need to say
[30:17]anything else and we indeed have honored the children of adam i'm
[30:19]just going to stop there is there a better line that we
[30:24]have honored the children of adam further than that chapter which other
[30:31]can we refer to the human also different from other primates there's
[30:38]a primordial nature unique to them a primordial nature that recognizes the
[30:46]lord chapter 30 verse 30 go to chapter 30 verse number 30
[30:54]and you'll see this discussion in islamic thought when it comes to
[30:59]the identity of the human honored by god god's caliph on earth
[31:02]with a soul and a primordial nature that makes them different to
[31:10]the world of animals set your face upright on the right religion
[31:25]a nature caused by god in which he has made people when
[31:30]we say god creates an islam stop focusing on just design focus
[31:37]on what is the make up of that creation what's the identity
[31:46]human caliph of god rep of god on earth soul primordial nature
[31:50]ability to express like no other primate has ever been able to
[31:55]that is the human in the eyes of world even if i
[32:00]go a bit further darwinism while many discuss it biologically one of
[32:05]its problems is what is social darwinism social darwinism i'm looking at
[32:11]the idea that good and bad right and wrong are not universal
[32:16]concepts good and bad right and wrong relative not universal concepts don't
[32:21]be utilitarian right and wrong ah again in the makeup of the
[32:29]human being in the quran allah will tell us for example which
[32:33]surah if you look in and i think probably uh sora shems
[32:37]you don't have to go to my dear sisters because there's so
[32:40]many verses to come but when f by the soul of the
[32:44]human of the self of the human and the one who perfected
[32:47]it means to literally force down the throat he inspired it to
[32:58]be able to either destroy itself through doing bad or cover itself
[33:04]through doing good successful successful is the one who purifies their soul
[33:10]so for us when we're looking at darwinism there is a social
[33:15]construct which we reject as well that there's no such thing necessarily
[33:18]and this comes later on and the way colonialism happens you can
[33:21]go into an anthropological discussion on this but the main point for
[33:26]us number one the identity of the human being an interaction through
[33:30]a primordial nature with a soul expression this is a different creature
[33:34]altogether i don't mind even if you say to me that we
[33:39]all came from a single cell where did that single cell come
[33:43]from because all we're going to go back is to infinite regression
[33:48]and that's why another area that we differ with so we said
[33:52]that the theory of evolution there's many parts of it we agree
[33:57]with we said parts of survival the fittest and mutations and adaptations
[34:00]and the environment the existence of the earth and for example certain
[34:04]species being extinct and others we agree we said however it doesn't
[34:08]offer me an understanding of a moral worldview not at all because
[34:14]empirically i can't test some of these moral constructs what else is
[34:21]a problem randomness look i don't mind if you want to believe
[34:25]that all this is random i don't know you want to go
[34:29]to a mathematician like penrose or you want to go to an
[34:31]ex-atheist like flu they're going to turn around to say listen i
[34:34]know there's some random stuff but not that random for you to
[34:37]reject that there must have been a a designer yes you can
[34:40]be a deist they'll say you don't have to believe in the
[34:42]lord of muhammad and moses because einstein or anthony flew couldn't conceive
[34:48]of or accept why there's evil so the god of moses or
[34:53]the god of jesus or muhammad they may reject but they'll say
[34:55]that there is a god and that's why in the quran god
[34:59]keeps on reminding us that look at the creation you know even
[35:03]where is the verse in the quran oh god i knew i
[35:07]should have done my research on this one you know how darwin
[35:13]observed the finches and it made him think even in the quran
[35:18]god tells us look at the creation of the birds i think
[35:23]in surah 16 it's 1679 i think or 1689 try and get
[35:29]there my dear brothers and sisters surah 16 is it 79 yes
[35:35]alhamdulillah otherwise that could have gone horribly wrong in surah 16 the
[35:40]quran verse number 79 god wants you to observe creation and the
[35:43]main point is that the randomness aspect of all of us emerging
[35:48]randomly and there's no purpose that is rejected surah 16 verse 79
[35:53]do they know do they not look towards the birds these are
[36:14]signs for a people who believe i don't deny if you want
[36:18]to show me results of birds and their evolution birds and their
[36:25]survival but do not tell me that this bird was a creation
[36:29]in vain rather i am the one just look at it look
[36:32]at the poise and do you ever ask who looks after its
[36:35]journeys and who has structured it the way it's been structured if
[36:40]you look for example surah 31 verse 11 let's go 31 11.
[36:44]um in surah 31 verse number 11 you've got this wonderful discussion
[36:49]here again where allah wants us to reflect on this creation in
[36:57]surat lokman verse number 11 what does god say bismillah this is
[37:07]the creation of allah [Music] this is the creation of allah show
[37:15]me those who you call upon besides him what did they create
[37:18]what did they create another eye of the quran and surah 38
[37:24]27 there is this wonderful ayah as well where god again takes
[37:27]us to his creation but this time you know what he's saying
[37:31]don't say it's random i beg you randomness we reject there is
[37:37]a purpose there is an intelligence there is a power verse 27
[37:42]38 we created not the heavens nor the earth and what is
[37:52]between them in vain this is the imagination of those who disbelieve
[38:04]faway will be to those who disbelieve because of the fire i
[38:11]remember when when i when i was younger we i think frederick
[38:15]canute and nicholas and elka both converted to islam in a certain
[38:24]period and kanute was discussing his conversion and there was there was
[38:28]a stream of i think french players who had converted and of
[38:30]the verses that affected them was this we did not create all
[38:33]of this in vain don't say it's random of course if someone
[38:36]wants to say it's random i'm not here to compel someone to
[38:41]follow my worldview my worldview here is saying what is saying that
[38:44]darwin's theory there are many things we agree with but if we
[38:48]were to differ on certain things we differ maybe on where does
[38:51]it offer us more what does it offer us morally randomness and
[38:57]macrocosm evolution or microcosm evolution what do we mean species changing within
[39:03]one another we can see there's changes within a species i can
[39:08]see the beak is bigger the beak is smaller the beak is
[39:12]longer the legs are bigger the legs are smaller the feathers the
[39:15]wings and so on that we cannot deny microcosm microevolution on a
[39:24]microcosmic level we don't have a problem with but a change of
[39:29]an entire species into another macro evolution that's where the difference is
[39:36]so when someone turns around to you and says to you so
[39:41]do you guys for example believe in evolution you could say on
[39:47]what micro evolution or are you asking me about macro evolution micro
[39:52]evolution you can show me and don't just show me i want
[39:56]to see i want to enjoy i want to enjoy the development
[40:01]of the survival of these animals but you telling me of a
[40:05]complete species change not only is it so hard to replicate in
[40:09]the lab i think you'll agree with me has anyone replicated that
[40:11]whole species change in the lab yet no it hasn't been done
[40:14]someone might say yeah but you know science we keep looking okay
[40:16]keep looking there's no problem this is a sub part of my
[40:21]world view not my whole world view so you're not gonna really
[40:24]hurt me by showing me but for me going down the line
[40:30]that the human being with their morals with their potential with their
[40:33]capability yes i agree animals sleep we sleep animals eat we eat
[40:38]animals have sex we have sex but above that the rational intelligence
[40:42]and the level that the human can reach which animal can ever
[40:45]lay claim that it came near einstein's mind or it comes near
[40:51]the minds of many of the great philosophers and the great mystics
[40:54]that's where we have a difference so you see for us originally
[41:00]there was an important point and that is don't get thrown into
[41:03]the idea that this is the meaning of life the physical no
[41:06]rather this is a part of it and that's why when you
[41:10]look within the quran allah subhanahu wa ta'ala virtually concludes this whole
[41:16]discussion in a unique way and what way is that is that
[41:18]he actually tells you that listen you can look for many great
[41:22]artists because the reality is that when we're looking at the creation
[41:25]we obviously look for the creator and so when i'm looking at
[41:31]theories which are postulated and i wouldn't just say darwin i'd say
[41:36]those who come a lot later because darwin there is still a
[41:38]possibility of a discussion of observing the laws without denying the creator
[41:44]there is still that possibility whereas those who come later no you
[41:47]observe all of this there's no such thing as god this is
[41:51]all fairy tales in the quran and surah 27 verse number 88
[42:00]god replies back to those who say there is no intelligent designer
[42:04]behind all of this this is just the soup it was brewing
[42:08]and it just came forth in front of all of us and
[42:11]surah 27 verse number 88 god wants to show you that those
[42:15]who are saying such things we don't lose any sleep why because
[42:20]just even look at the mountains even the mountains we wouldn't put
[42:23]in the world of randomness you will see the mountains which you
[42:30]think are firm solid but they pass away like the passing clouds
[42:33]what does it then say after that this is the artistry of
[42:49]allah who has made everything firm this is beautiful emmis last night
[42:54]we looked at the difference between insane and bashar when we created
[42:58]the human then we talked of the bashar called adam sometimes islam
[43:02]muslims say look here there's a difference from we have sana we
[43:09]have the idea of an artistry a sculpture you can't fathom creation
[43:16]then fathom the sculpture that i bring before you and many of
[43:19]you have not even laid eyes on that sculpture you've seen humans
[43:22]and some of the animals but many of you have not seen
[43:25]all of them and many of you not seen plants you will
[43:28]never see a sculpture you will never see an artist like allah
[43:33]so therefore for us we look at eyes in the quran which
[43:36]conclude this whole discussion and surah 82 of the quran look how
[43:40]many times allah just wants you to wake up to the reality
[43:42]of the fact that all you have to do is observe and
[43:46]you'll realize that this was from intelligent design and that the human
[43:51]being is the highest creation in many cases except when they misbehave
[43:55]in surah 82 verse number 6 what has beguiled you from your
[44:04]lord the most gracious the one who created we won't stop there
[44:10]and fashioned unjustly proportioned which ever formed he willed he casted you
[44:27]took the warning but you believe the day of judgment that means
[44:31]that those who had the debate about intelligence design versus randomness existed
[44:34]when the quran was around and it will continue to exist and
[44:38]there is no compulsion they want to follow what they want to
[44:40]follow it's up to them but for us as muslims the quran
[44:44]was open to discussion of biology it was open to discussion of
[44:48]the development of the human being it was open to development of
[44:52]the creation of the creation that we see around us all it
[44:54]said is that you know what there might have been an intelligence
[44:57]designer before this if before planck's moment you're able to continue to
[45:00]find continue to research there's no problem and that's why i love
[45:05]this one quote which i thought i'll read for all of you
[45:07]there is a grand jaw in this view of life with its
[45:12]several powers having been originally breathed by the creator into a few
[45:19]forms or into one and that was this planet has gone cycling
[45:24]on according to the fixed laws of gravity from so simple a
[45:31]beginning endless forms of beautiful and most wonderful have been and are
[45:38]being evolved that's the quotes of said no charles darwin was allah
[45:48][Music] hey [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] why
