[0:00][Music] m M Shahala [Music] f for the purification of the souls
[1:48]the enlightenment of the hearts the acceptance of the deeds and for
[1:53]the hastening of the reappearance of Enlighten your souls and the atmosphere
[1:58]with the recitation of Sal upon Muhammed Muhammad a sentence that millions
[2:19]of people utter throughout the day and throughout their lives a line
[2:24]that is referred to as the third testimony that many of us
[2:29]as the followers of have grown up listening to and reciting both
[2:37]in thean and in the how many times you've seen this recitation
[2:41]across the globe in many different centers and many different mosques but
[2:46]especially in the shrines when it's recited it sends shivers down one's
[2:50]spine it's a source of blessings out and one that brings pride
[2:58]in the hearts of many people thean and the not being waj
[3:01]and obligatory for you and I to recite however many times it
[3:08]is highly recommended for an individual to recite them as many times
[3:12]as they can throughout the day especially as we realize that when
[3:16]a newborn is presented in this world it is highly encouraged and
[3:20]recommended and must to recite the aan on the right and the
[3:26]on the left from the beginning of life it is emphasized that
[3:32]this shahada of the Oneness of Allah and the prophethood of the
[3:37]messenger of God and the will of Al Talib is reaffirmed from
[3:41]the beginning from the outset of the life of the human being
[3:47]how amazing and beautiful is the for you and I sometimes take
[3:53]it lightly we don't necessarily pay attention to thean or pay attention
[3:59]to the many of times just moment when there is a lecture
[4:02]and there are people speaking which is not part of the teachings
[4:05]of the religion of Islam and it could be problematic in terms
[4:11]of being a because it may be disrespectful likewise sometimes when there
[4:17]is an or that is being recited we are told that we
[4:21]must recite with it or at the very least we must be
[4:27]silent listening to it because it is a sacred Pro proclamation of
[4:31]the Oneness of Allah the prophethood and the Imam of the commander
[4:35]of the faithful but when it comes to this important recitation what
[4:42]is known as the Shah the third testimony after the testimony of
[4:48]after the testimony of Muhammad there are those who have objected and
[4:54]said this is not part of the aan you and I should
[4:59]not be reciting it the they have called it they have said
[5:02]this is an innovation this is not part of thean or the
[5:08]of was it recited at the time of the holy prophet of
[5:14]Islam how can the Shia today several hundred million people across the
[5:17]world how can they be saying in their was it something that
[5:23]was practiced by the prophet or the was it part of thean
[5:28]or not how can you add something to aan that was not
[5:32]part of the Adan interestingly these objections which are mainly presented by
[5:39]the salafi Hardline school of thought are ironic why because in the
[5:47]aan of our brothers there are at least two things that have
[5:51]been changed with regards to the recitation at the time of the
[5:54]prophet of Islam many times you and I know in in Muslim
[6:01]countries you will hear thean being recited with Salah is better than
[6:11]sleeping likewise you will not hear the recitation of that hasten towards
[6:18]the best of Deeds these two have been removed from the aan
[6:21]and removed from the when it comes to the objection about the
[6:28]first thing to be said is is these two removals do you
[6:35]know about them or not I remember once in MWI in M
[6:43]once where I was I was sitting waiting for Sal and thean
[6:49]was being recited so a brother next to me from Egypt was
[6:52]enjoying the aan thean was being recited in the most wonderful of
[6:57]ways when the MU said said what the brother next to me
[7:04]said you are so true oh Prophet when the said the brother
[7:10]next to me said you are so truthful when the said the
[7:18]brother said the same thing this is the moment I couldn't hold
[7:21]myself I looked at him I said brother this you cannot say
[7:30]you are truthful because it wasn't bought by the prophet so you
[7:35]can't say he said who is it by then I said the
[7:37]second khif Omar he looked up and said it's amazing that you've
[7:45]bought this oh Omar question here that we have to ask ourselves
[7:48]is this if I object about am I an individual to do
[7:55]so without scrutinizing my own Adan first in other words let me
[8:00]find out why or for example was removed why for example this
[8:05]was added and so on that's the first thing the second thing
[8:11]is when somebody objects to a practice within the school of and
[8:14]please focus on this because I love how the brothers are in
[8:20]attention to this very delicate subject because despite it being slightly polemic
[8:25]you and I need to recognize it and be very much clear
[8:27]about where we stand in this regard before delving into it before
[8:32]analyzing it I'd like to mention importantly two precursors two foundations to
[8:38]this argument the first is today if you look at social media
[8:44]you look at for example platforms such as Tik Tok I'm me
[8:46]told by some of the youth by my sons that it's a
[8:51]battlefield on Tik Tok meaning what people are bashing each other you
[8:55]have insults being exchanged between sunnis and Sh you have sh and
[8:59]kufur being distributed as much as anything else in places that there
[9:06]is so much vulgar language being used targeting of people just because
[9:11]of different practices mockery did you know and I don't want to
[9:14]give it attention but this is for your information I've been told
[9:16]there is a hashtag that's trending on Tik Tok do you know
[9:22]what it is sh cookies when I first heard of it I
[9:23]thought Subhan Allah that may be something to do with what we
[9:28]bake you know the Shia would prepare something food it turns out
[9:31]is a hashtag regarding the turba and there is a mockery regarding
[9:36]the usage of the that people are bringing films or clips of
[9:44]Shia speakers and what and mocking them laughing about them this kind
[9:48]of lack of is irresponsible and unacceptable meaning what let's have dialogue
[9:56]let's have discussions let's be aware of each other's beliefs but not
[10:01]mock them or ridicule them Allah subhana T says in the Holy
[10:09]Quran say oh people of the book come to a common word
[10:14]between you and I there is an invitation to dialogue there is
[10:19]an invitation to understanding each other I invite my sisters and brothers
[10:23]from the school of B specifically but also my sisters and brothers
[10:27]from other schools who may be listening to this lecture I invite
[10:30]them to think who are you going to please other than Shan
[10:36]when you attack Muslims in such a manner when you use disrespectful
[10:40]language when you Mock and ridicule that's number one number two if
[10:45]I want to discuss the third testimony is this an important subject
[10:52]in my life or this is something I should not be worried
[10:56]about without a shadow of a doubt most of us may come
[11:01]across people who do not subscribe to this and therefore they would
[11:03]like to ask questions they would like to ask and wonder why
[11:06]is your Adan different today I saw that for example in the
[11:13]United Arab Emirates in Dubai and maybe in sharja they are now
[11:16]for the first time in the history of that country or at
[11:18]least modern history they've allowed to be recited in the from the
[11:27]mosque itself and heard from the minates so now on the streets
[11:34]people walking in a predominantly non country they can hear what but
[11:39]sadly you find mosques that are resistant to reciting the question that
[11:46]I'd like to ask is when somebody asks why should I know
[11:49]about this the question that the answer this that is what part
[11:54]of my beliefs part of my understanding part of my a therefore
[11:57]there is an invitation to know however please focus on this today
[12:01]there is a pressure amongst our youth to justify their beliefs and
[12:09]practices according to the works of our brothers meaning what meaning that
[12:14]people today will tell you and I you must prove to me
[12:16]from bukari and Muslim from and other sources that you should recite
[12:24]or for example you should pray on a or for example you
[12:29]should do Z or for example you should believe in the return
[12:33]of the prophet and the and as well as that the worst
[12:37]of the people my answer to that is I am a follower
[12:43]of Ali and the holy I am the follower of these holy
[12:46]individuals I have my school of thought my school of thought comes
[12:53]and tells me and teaches me from the Quran and from the
[12:55]teachings of the for me what is sufficient is to follow my
[13:02]school of thought in order to prove it to myself and to
[13:05]have y on it I don't need it verified in the books
[13:12]of others I don't need to find it in bukari and Muslim
[13:14]for me to practice it please understand this because our sh youth
[13:18]have an inferiority complex do you know what that means they say
[13:24]brother please I can't practice L if you don't show me from
[13:29]the books of other Muslims that I allowed to beat my chests
[13:31]why do I have to show you from the books of about
[13:39]and about why why the question that I have to ask is
[13:43]in my discussions with them maybe there are Concepts that I can
[13:50]present them using their Works in order for them to understand but
[13:53]for my own I don't need verification from other schools and other
[13:59]religions this strength IM and a must exist in the hearts of
[14:03]our brothers and sisters we must not feel weak or undermined simply
[14:07]because I can't show it in the books of others I have
[14:12]my they may have theirs but I have and sufficient for Mei
[14:25]muhamad yet today there are many ways in which I can present
[14:28]these teachings sometimes they're through dialogue sometimes they're through calm intellectual academic
[14:34]discussions and sometimes it's to make people think what do you mean
[14:39]I remember the story that in one of the Middle Eastern countries
[14:42]that suffers with Shia phobia there was a young boy who was
[14:47]only 12 or 13 who was one of the followers of one
[14:49]of the sh when he was at class his teacher was teaching
[14:56]Islamic history so his teacher said to the class that this life
[15:04]of the prophet of Islam ends with the that there is the
[15:09]what there is the final pilgrimage and he then said some people
[15:13]say that the prophet stopped in a place known as when he
[15:18]stopped in the place known as the teacher said he announced that
[15:23]Ali is my friend in order for people to know the respect
[15:27]and the status of alib so this student became angry but he
[15:32]couldn't object his teacher he said remained silent a few days later
[15:39]the teacher when he was teaching he said to the classroom I
[15:42]am heading out for a few moments I want one of you
[15:46]to lead the class and to make sure the class is in
[15:48]order and he chose the Shia boy the 12 13y old and
[15:53]said to him come I want you to lead this class and
[15:57]in the few moments that I'm not there I want everyone to
[16:01]obey him please continue on your work so the boy stood up
[16:06]he did what he was asked a few moments later the teacher
[16:08]comes back says thank you so much you've done a good work
[16:11]sit down the boy didn't sit down he stood there standing the
[16:14]teacher looks at him and says I told you go and sit
[16:17]down he said to him sir I have a question before I
[16:18]sit down I have a problem I said what's the question he
[16:23]said to him you left the classroom for 5 minutes you were
[16:29]worried that the class will turn into to chaos that there will
[16:31]be too many problems you therefore asked me to lead the class
[16:34]when you were not there in my eyes from your teachings you
[16:40]could be better than the prophet he said how dare you say
[16:44]that he said because you left the classroom for 5 minutes and
[16:46]you appointed someone you said the prophet left this world without appointing
[16:51][Music] Khalifa the teacher looked at him and dare you teach me
[17:02]I am teaching you now you are expelled from the school for
[17:06]disgracing me in front of the class because it's a heavy point
[17:10]so he said sent him to the Head teacher head teacher looks
[17:13]at him and says what's the issue he said this is what
[17:17]happened he said I have to go with whatever the teacher says
[17:19]tomorrow bring your W bring your person in charge of you and
[17:25]we will sign the papers and you're out of the school said
[17:27]very well next day the head teacher sitting in his office there
[17:33]is a knock on the door the student comes in the head
[17:35]teacher looks at him and says where is your W he says
[17:39]outside he says bring him so he brings his friend at school
[17:43]also 12 so the teacher looks at him and says how dare
[17:50]you I said to you bring your W do you not understand
[17:52]what w means the student looks and smiles and says sir I
[17:58]am only following what our teacher told us our teacher told us
[18:01]the prophet said whomsoever I am the friend therefore Ali is the
[18:08]friend you told me bring me your W I am bringing my
[18:10]friend the head teacher looks at him and said w means someone
[18:16]in charge someone who is Authority someone who is a guardian not
[18:21]a friend sometimes sometimes through these kind of discussions we can show
[18:28]the stance that we have however it's also significant and important for
[18:33]us to delve into this important area by asking a number of
[18:40]key questions what is the Ayah in the Quran that is predominantly
[18:43]in support of saying and all the time number two was this
[18:50]said at the time of the Prophet or not did the prophet
[18:54]approve of it or not was it something that the approved or
[18:58]not number three today our what is their opinion about saying and
[19:07]number four what does it mean in our lives how can this
[19:13]be practically applied throughout our lives as we call ourselves the and
[19:17]the of the commander of the faithful many a times when we
[19:34]come to discuss the subject of w it is a subject that
[19:38]is indeed contentious and one of disagreement within the Muslims schools of
[19:43]thought however chapter five number 55 a without a shadow of a
[19:49]doubt is an Ayah that you and I need to understand and
[19:51]to be able to deling it in detail because there is no
[19:56]point somebody asking us about and us not understanding what will is
[20:01]all about to understand will we need to understand Ayah of the
[20:07]Quran which is in Surah ay number 55 Allah subhanahu waala tells
[20:11]us in this Ayah here we ask this question how many non
[20:19]Scholars have said and come forward and commented on this particular Ayah
[20:24]according to a number of our Scholars like amini in his famous
[20:31]encyclopedia Al he said I found 66 in history of theah who
[20:38]have come forward and discussed Ayah 55 ofah Ma and they have
[20:42]all said this was revealed in the Merit and in the honor
[20:48]of whom of number one that is established so as far as
[20:52]the or the general consensus of men and and the women and
[20:58]theah and the people of the Muslims generally this is accepted to
[21:04]be revealed in the Merit of Ali now if we accept it
[21:09]when it comes to now there is a difference about its interpretation
[21:13]please focus on this because let's see how Muslims interpret it as
[21:18]far as the cause of Revelation which is narrated by for example
[21:25]over 10 companions such as ja abdah abari as well as others
[21:29]they say it was after stayed in the mosque when he was
[21:36]in the mosque all of a sudden a man enters a man
[21:40]who is poor a man who begs Muslims for help says to
[21:45]them can I help can you please help me nobody would help
[21:48]because of the and the sanctity of the mosque number one number
[21:55]two his eagerness to give for the sake of Allah number three
[21:58]something which he did sincerely most of us know and I've seen
[22:01]it in clips that he extended his right arm and there was
[22:06]what a ring and this right arm all of a sudden the
[22:11]poor man recognized the Imam is telling him take this ring as
[22:15]s after this particular Act of Charity from Ali we are told
[22:21]that what we are told that the prophet of Islam recited after
[22:25]jbra revealed the ayat in Surah which finished with what with finished
[22:39]with surely verily definitely the ones who have will over you are
[22:47]Allah the messenger and the Believers but those who are performing prayers
[22:52]and in their they give s and they give charity question here
[22:56]and that is of great importance which require your attention on a
[23:02]night like this what does this is the major area of contention
[23:07]people here will come and say listen I disagree with you I
[23:13]don't believe and subscribe to your understanding of in this Ayah first
[23:18]of all in order to understand we must understand in in here
[23:22]means what it's a tool of exclusivity in Arabic it's in which
[23:27]means whatever is going to be said is very exclusive it is
[23:33]only for those particular beings or individuals not anyone similarly the same
[23:43]the words in the Quran means something special is about to be
[23:50]mentioned not anybody not for everyone now question if I want to
[23:54]know what means in this Ayah I need to refer back to
[24:00]the Quran and ask Ya Allah when you've used W and mola
[24:06]in the Quran what does it mean over 70 different times this
[24:10]word and its derivative has been used in the Quran and our
[24:16]brothers many of our all of majority of them what do they
[24:24]say they say this means friend as we said or it means
[24:31]love because the word mola can have more than 29 different meanings
[24:36]how many 29 different understandings however an invitation is presented to anyone
[24:44]who objectively studies the Quran an ayat of the Quran and the
[24:48]question that's asked is look at the words that are used in
[24:53]many of these ayat and ask yourself what's the context in which
[24:57]Allah uses the word Moa you will come to the conclusion if
[25:04]you are fair and just and that is the majority of the
[25:08]verses in which Allah uses MOA or it refers to complete Authority
[25:13]it refers to what power it refers to the idea of an
[25:22]a being has authority over something else for example Allah says the
[25:30]prophet has authority over the Believers than they have over themselves Allah
[25:38]says Allah is your MOA how many times can Allah say to
[25:45]people I'm your friend I'm your friend I'm your friend in order
[25:48]to understand whether the word mola means friend or means complete Authority
[25:52]I need to look at the Ayah and think the context of
[25:57]the Ayah means what I should not immed medely jump to this
[26:00]one conclusion that it means friend that is a weakness in my
[26:03]part why because I am imposing my understanding of the Quran not
[26:11]allowing the Quran to teach me what the words is and so
[26:13]when I look at this Ayah does it mean friend or does
[26:23]it mean authority of course it means Authority why because first it
[26:29]says in says in that is exclusive if we take it as
[26:34]friend please understand this very important Point let's say we take this
[26:38]word to mean friend it means surely verily Allah is your friend
[26:42]and the prophet and those who believe who give s whilst they're
[26:46]doing Salah excuse me I don't have any other friends what happens
[26:52]to anyone else why have I just all of a sudden limited
[26:55]friendship to only three groups or three beings Allah his messenger and
[27:00]these particular individuals or one individual the reality of the matter here
[27:06]is very clear and that is the will here that Allah subhana
[27:11]T is speaking about is not friends why because why should Allah
[27:13]say I am your friend the prophet is your friend what is
[27:16]the benefit of that what are we extrapolating from this just like
[27:22]how the prophet would stop 120,000 people on the G on this
[27:29]hot sand Junes in Arabia to declare something people already know question
[27:34]today is there anyone who has a doubt that Ali is that
[27:40]Ali is a friend of Allah according to them or is the
[27:43]authority chosen by Allah the vice charant of Allah do we have
[27:49]any doubt no interestingly interestingly just in being between brackets no muslim
[27:55]today would deny that Ali is and those who hesitate to recited
[28:01]in front of our brothers Sunnah they are mistaken because they feel
[28:06]that that will hurt them they feel that that will injure their
[28:10]feelings why when you say even in their understanding this is acceptable
[28:15]that you're saying Ali is the friend of Allah which is the
[28:21]least that you can say there is nothing wrong with making that
[28:26]Proclamation and that declaration now here there are a number of Scholars
[28:31]who've come forward and said you know you saying this was revealed
[28:34]on the Merit of Ali and that Ali is the one who
[28:38]gave his ring and that Ali has the authority chosen by Allah
[28:40]subhana wa tala which is given to him after the holy prophet
[28:45]has many problems do you know what the problems are number one
[28:49]they say the Quran does not use the plural tense when it
[28:54]comes to human beings and individuals you say Ali gave his ring
[28:57]so why does Allah say well is means what plural so if
[29:08]Ali gave his ring in Salah surely Allah subhana wa tala should
[29:13]say the one person not question that is posed out there how
[29:22]do we respond look at the Quran in many verses of the
[29:26]Quran where Allah subhah wa taala addresses certain individuals or for example
[29:32]incidents that refer to one person he uses the plural tense this
[29:46]is in famous incident after what happened when the Muslims retracted a
[29:53]messenger came and said to the prophet that these people are coming
[29:57]to finish you you you must run away Allah says refers to
[30:05]one particular messenger it's a style of the Quran number one number
[30:09]two in Arabic sometimes you use plural as a respect towards certain
[30:13]individual sometimes people when they speak to me or they speak to
[30:18]somebody they say do you want but I am just one individual
[30:22]but it's the style of the Arabic language that sometimes uses plural
[30:27]in order to show reverence so some kind of respect Allah says
[30:37]ibraim in itself is an um therefore there is no problem in
[30:39]that sense second they say did not have an expensive ring nonsense
[30:45]him giving a ring in Salah who said it was an expensive
[30:49]ring who actually claims this to be something which was not normal
[30:57]would get a very normal ring that he had in Salah number
[31:00]three very importantly and that is what how can he pray and
[31:05]at the same time not focus in Salah and give this is
[31:10]the my favorite objection you must be able to answer this question
[31:16]they say his Salah was brilliant Sublime do you know the story
[31:21]in sa where they took out an arrow from his leg and
[31:26]he didn't feel the pain how can he focus in Salah and
[31:29]still give a poor person charity in prayers this is not acceptable
[31:35]they say because Ali would not be focused on anything other than
[31:39]Allah subhanahu wa taala number one there are three answers to this
[31:43]please understand the answers number one when Allah waala Praises it it
[31:48]means he did well and it was something that he was able
[31:52]to achieve when Allah says and we found so many narrations that
[31:57]say and that was it means it wasn't a bad thing Allah
[32:02]is praising it he doesn't say oh why were you not focused
[32:04]on Salah that means number two was able to focus and he
[32:14]combined both righteous Deeds yes if you're thinking about for example the
[32:20]Super Bowl or if you're thinking about what to eat in for
[32:25]in the or if you for for example worried about what you're
[32:29]going to say tomorrow in your work yes that's the am of
[32:34]d That's the world affairs of this world aliali was not thinking
[32:37]about the Affairs of this world both actions were obedient to Allah
[32:43]subhanahu and secondly thirdly the answer is it was a must prayer
[32:51]it's not W so some of the rules of w are relaxed
[32:52]in recommended prayers even if you don't accept the first two there
[32:57]is no problem in giving what giving his ring in Salah question
[33:03]that have to be asked now and that is if we establish
[33:09]from this Ayah that will means Authority guardianship that alali is being
[33:15]given by Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala after the holy prophet this particular authority
[33:21]to carry on and to rule amongst the people how is this
[33:29]mentioned in the world of Hadith the holy prophet in the famous
[33:42]Hadith which is narrated in Amali of he comes forward and said
[34:04]the of Ali is the will of Allah you follow Ali you're
[34:10]following Allah his love is the love of Allah his following is
[34:13]the one obliged by Allah those who are friends of Ali are
[34:17]friends of Allah and those who are his enemies are the enemies
[34:19]of Allah and if you fight him you're fighting Allah and if
[34:24]you're peace with him your peace with the almighty subhanahu wa ta'ala
[34:29]this important belief the will is Cornerstone and fundamental in our school
[34:33]of thought please understand this because today some of the Shia are
[34:36]taking lightly they say you know what we'll come to the discussion
[34:43]now whether it's or not whether it's part of or not irrespective
[34:45]they think it's something on the side it's not important in our
[34:48]lives it's to do with our it's to do with our doctrines
[34:55]and beliefs it should not be belittled or sacrificed and the prophet
[35:00]made sure it is established from day one question when was this
[35:06]concept of wi introduced to Muslims many will say do you agree
[35:10]many will say 18th 10 years after the Hijra wrong the first
[35:18]time the prophet introduced W was when was when he first time
[35:21]introduced Islam when he invited his family members and the house of
[35:29]Abu Talib and he said to them who amongst you would be
[35:31]my successor my follower my Deputy my vice chant after me the
[35:43]holy prophet did not start at the end the prophet of Islam
[35:48]started where he started at the beginning in order to ensure that
[35:51]you and I do not get the idea that will is something
[35:55]on the side will is something that is Trivial I take take
[35:58]it sometimes or I don't take it sometimes yes question that is
[36:03]very important and that is did the prophet of Islam approve it's
[36:10]very important today people ask this question surely youran should be like
[36:15]the prophets surely your like should be like the prophets here there
[36:18]are importantly a number of narrations in the books of our brothers
[36:25]and please pay attention it's very sad that our sisters are more
[36:28]interested in the discussions on whatever they are talking about and I
[36:31]invite you if there is a discussion more important than this then
[36:35]please have it outside it will be great respect you can have
[36:40]that discussion outside so that the others can benefit inshallah with the
[36:44]bar muhamad there is a book by the name of by a
[36:58]man by the name well known amongst a group of Scholars he
[37:04]is not from the school of he narrates two please focus on
[37:08]these he says once was asked to recite the aan at the
[37:20]time of the messenger of God's life he when he recited thean
[37:25]he said they came to the prophet and said y Allah do
[37:31]you accept of this is this something that is allowed how can
[37:38]he have just said did we hear correctly is this fine the
[37:45]prophet answers what you had is good so someone asks were they
[37:51]at the time of the Prophet yes these rat are telling us
[37:54]it was recited another in the same book this time Salman Al
[38:04]recites inan they come to him and say to him the holy
[38:11]prophet y Allah how is this possible he responds the prophet reminds
[38:22]them this was when after the 18th of the he says to
[38:25]them do you not remember what I said on the day of
[38:39]do you not remember this then he said to them anyone who
[38:48]turns away from this is a loser themselves this means what this
[38:56]means and by the way there was a distorted campaign pain of
[38:59]fabrication Distortion of the of that happened when during the time of
[39:03]B and if today we don't have enough evidence or rat that
[39:09]this was recited at the time of the prophet and afterwards it's
[39:12]because of what is because of two reasons number one for over
[39:18]a hundred years narrations were forbidden to be collected no one was
[39:24]allowed to write a number two any sh or the were being
[39:30]the subject of what attacks and fabrications and distortions that's why when
[39:34]it comes to the is it something that they recommend we have
[39:37]ai such as one from IM in which he comes forward in
[39:55]the book and as well in he says Imad is telling you
[40:10]and I he's saying when you say when you say muham immediately
[40:18]say according to this R he is instructing you and I and
[40:23]that's why I found a beautiful narration listen to this narration Wallah
[40:27]when I came across a it recently it Place placed happiness and
[40:30]pride in my heart this R is found in that one day
[40:36]the holy prophet peace and blessings be upon him and his family
[40:39]saw and said to him Ali take my ring and ask the
[40:45]person engraving to engrave on it Muhammed abdah I want on it
[40:52]to say Muhammad abdah so he gave the Ring toir went to
[40:57]this person who does engraving he said to him put on it
[40:59]Muhammad abdah when he came back to collect it he brought it
[41:05]and he looked at it and it said on it muhamed not
[41:13]Muhammad abdah so he said to the holy prophet Yool Allah the
[41:17]person making the engraving made a mistake instead of saying Muhammed abdah
[41:23]he engraved it as Muhammad the prophet said okay yes I am
[41:34]the prophet of God that's fine it can be like this the
[41:39]says he slept next morning listen to this oh M oh lovers
[41:42]of Ali this is something amazing he woke up he looked at
[41:47]his ring and it said on it was pleased but surprised comes
[42:04]to him immediately do you know what says to him Muhammad you
[42:15]wrote what you want Allah now has added what he wants it
[42:20]is what he wants now that's added yes the idea that is
[42:26]emerging here at the outset is that with without a shadow of
[42:28]a doubt this statement and sentence of was something that it's witnessed
[42:35]throughout history being recited in many different cities many different towns yes
[42:41]especially after the of the imam.
[42:45]that's why the question here that most people ask is is it
[42:50]waj and what is the jurisprudential position with regards to this how
[42:55]do we respond we say the following our including his Eminence they
[43:01]say the following saying has two purposes and it is what recommended
[43:13]and it's not a of or however it is it completes the
[43:22]Shah the two testimonies and in itself it is so although the
[43:31]majority of our fuk today and I say majority because there are
[43:35]some who believe it isaj in and add it in as well
[43:43]some but the majority say no it is part of the sentences
[43:46]that should be said at all times it is not a part
[43:52]in other words if you don't say it you're not necessarily M
[43:55]uh um reciting thean incorrectly just like in Salah in Salah there
[44:00]are W parts of Salah and there are must parts of Salah
[44:02]right so if you miss out the must there is no problem
[44:07]but if you miss out the waj your Salah is invalid that's
[44:12]why it is indeed interesting that they say it is someone asks
[44:16]but you just said earlier we shouldn't be saying gnome Salah is
[44:25]better than sleep how is it that that's wrong and is right
[44:29]number one we didn't say that it's part of thean that's W
[44:36]is dropped sometimes or if they don't say it something that is
[44:42]allowed you have to ask them themselves number two we said this
[44:45]is an extension of the two shahad meaning what when somebody please
[44:49]focus on this when somebody recites thean and says allahar allahar it
[44:55]is heard sometimes that people say yes it's a natural expression to
[45:06]say glory be to Allah is that Haram no it's a normal
[45:08]expression of exalting the name of Allah subhana tala when we say
[45:13]many times people recite theat don't they yes after people recite muhamad
[45:23]is that allowed yes it's the same when I say muham the
[45:26]automatic thing to say afterwards is it comes naturally after it's the
[45:34]completion of the sentences that's why it's of the utmost importance that
[45:41]we pay attention to this why because there are clues in the
[45:44]Quran that point to this in order for us to have a
[45:47]comprehensive as much as possible understanding of this someone says what do
[45:51]you mean why do I need to say that's sufficient I take
[45:57]you to the Holy Quran where Allah subhana wa taala describes the
[46:01]story of M and the Sahar in chapter 26 please focus on
[46:05]this Allah tells us when mam displayed the what when he displayed
[46:16]the miracle and the The Magicians all postr towards Allah do you
[46:21]agree when all their fake snakes were swallowed by the snake of
[46:28]M am what did they say they said we believe in The
[46:39]Lord of the worlds then they said what do you agree they
[46:50]did not only say please focus on this when they said is
[46:56]this enough by itself or not was this sufficient in itself or
[47:03]not when you say that is to say yes when they said
[47:11]for them for us is to say but look at the Quran
[47:20]Allah says it wasn't sufficient for them to say they had to
[47:25]say so when the prophet says you are to me what Aaron
[47:37]was to Moses except that there is no Prophet after me just
[47:41]like how they magicians said in order to establish the cornerstones of
[47:46]beliefs we say and that's why my dear sisters and brothers the
[48:01]belief in the third testimony and is so important in this day
[48:09]and age why contemporary challenges that most of us face in this
[48:14]regard requires an in-depth look but I just want to mention one
[48:17]point and that is the authentic reliable narrations of the point to
[48:24]the realization that the belief in is a prerequisite for the acceptance
[48:30]of you and I must believe in so that our Deeds are
[48:36]accepted these are found in authentic traditions in you ask me how
[48:45]if I don't have will my my actions are void if you
[48:51]arrogantly deny and reject the authority of Allah the prophet and the
[48:57]then yes why look at carala there were 30,000 people praying there
[49:08]was two groups facing each other one group had the will of
[49:15]Shan the other had the will of Allah subhah wa tala but
[49:20]they're both Muslims this belief in the authority that Allah subhana T
[49:25]has given to the prophet and the is so critical and it's
[49:28]a red line for you and I meaning what meaning today in
[49:34]the western world where I am living should I be hiding and
[49:38]worried to express the or not should I be reciting it with
[49:46]pride and conviction or not should I be telling people that it
[49:53]is my or not that's the question because today we live sometimes
[49:58]in a world we have cocooned ourselves and are fearful of expressing
[50:03]our our beliefs our doctrines there is nothing wrong with me standing
[50:08]with pride and honor declaring my will of Al and saying becausei
[50:17]is the one who splits is the splitter between and that is
[50:22]my AA I should not be worried what others say I should
[50:25]not be worried what others will comment or judge this is not
[50:31]something that will hurt others this not something that will injure the
[50:36]feelings of others yes and therefore it becomes a final point please
[50:49]understand if you're still hesitant and you're not sure to recite listen
[50:55]to the following what our have said these two Scholars have come
[51:00]forward and said there is a concept known as the slogan of
[51:06]belief they say there is what's known as sh Islam and there
[51:11]is the sh IM which means what we have slogans that are
[51:14]particular to Islam General like for example Haj and om the holy
[51:18]Kaa it's for all Muslims generally it's known as a banner for
[51:24]all Muslims they say there are certain elements that are exclusive to
[51:29]the followers of what is that for example saying loudly in Salah
[51:33]when it comes to using a they come forward and say one
[51:41]of the of the school of the slogan what identifies us is
[51:49]therefore they say sometimes it could become waj sometimes it could become
[51:59]obligatory why because they say throughout years the Shia were persecuted the
[52:04]name Ali was attacked and they would say Ali would not even
[52:08]pray the name Ali was a subject of cursing therefore as a
[52:13]result of this years of persecution of the followers of B there
[52:17]was a need to demonstrate strength and to show the allegiance towards
[52:23]the and that's why it becomes a slogan a slogan that should
[52:29]be practiced and a slogan that should be recited with conviction honor
[52:33]and pride and I ask you for those tonight who are in
[52:43]The Shrine of Amir and for those who are in Mas kufa
[52:49]you've seen the Clips in the next few hours when the aan
[52:54]is recited and when is uttered you see a scream of pain
[53:03]and Agony in the hearts and then the lovers of Ali they
[53:09]begin to recall those moments on the early hours of the morning
[53:16]of the 19th of the month of Ramadan year 40 after Hijra
[53:19]that aan of that he recited at the end before his life
[53:27]was so cruy taken away that recitation in Masid kufa that would
[53:35]awaken so many who were asleep that was the last time they
[53:42]would hear the beautiful voice of the brother of rasool Allah the
[53:47]husband of Fatima the father of Hassan and Hussein and zum the
[53:55]re says that night Ali was not like any other nights he
[54:03]was Restless he was looking at the heavens he would walk back
[54:06]and forth he would say w this is the night this is
[54:17]it his daughter umum was hosting him that night imagine the scene
[54:25]in kufa Imam in his house he's presented with two loaves of
[54:30]barley with some salt and with some water for Hisar he looks
[54:37]at his daughter umum and says my dear daughter I don't want
[54:41]to break my fast with except what except one thing tonight so
[54:46]she leaves him with one loaf of barley bread and that's it
[54:54]he breaks his fast but he's full of Vick he in he's
[54:59]in Dua that night Imam gathered his family members the Rah says
[55:10]he began to tell them that he fell asleep for a few
[55:13]moments and he sawo who said to him that y Ali you
[55:21]are now upcoming towards us you are approaching towards us it is
[55:28]a moment in which would indeed remember and recall he would say
[55:38]Allah when he was alone he would raise his hands to the
[55:46]heavens and supplicate the re says until it was close to F
[55:53]time IM Amir now is ready to go and to indeed perform
[55:56]the Salah in the moment he was about to leave the house
[56:01]there were some birds some geese that belonged to Imam Hass that
[56:07]geese be began to bark began to indeed surround him Imam said
[56:14]they are barking but afterwards there is lamentation his indeed cloak would
[56:21]stick and would not be freed from one of the nails on
[56:23]the wall he said everything is trying to stop me from going
[56:29]towards the Masjid Subhan Allah Allah's creation were all begging yah Ali
[56:34]don't go y Ali don't take these steps they knew what the
[56:38]Calamity would happen and the M that would befall upon Humanity until
[56:46]the day of the says when im walk towards mid he saw
[56:55]ABD the facing the ground and sleeping on his stomach he woke
[57:03]him up for Salah and said to him what have I done
[57:12]to you that you will shed my blood he then went towards
[57:16]the Masid and began to perform his prayers allahar this came and
[57:26]entered the mosque waited for the Imam to perform his prayers and
[57:32]he was hiding behind the walls and the pillars the re says
[57:39]when he saw he went down to sujud he came behind the
[57:46]IM the moment the Imam raised his head from suud that Wretched
[57:57]Man raised his sword that was poison for 3 days and he
[58:03]struck the IM on his head the Cries From the heavens can
[58:24]be had now was indeed crying out say Cries Out by Allah
[59:06]indeed the foundations of guidance have been demolished the stars and the
[59:13]skies are now being extinguished the commander of the faithful the cousin
[59:19]of the Prophet is being killed the master of the Believers this
[59:23]blood blood has been shed can you imagine that moment imass behind
[59:29]him those who are around him some re says they could see
[59:37]the blood from the face of the Imam pouring all over his
[59:41]body they finished the prayers instead of him when they came next
[59:50]to their father Ali to lose a father any father is heartbreaking
[59:53]but to lose alali there is no m other than the of
[59:58]losing that could be as great as losing the commander of the
[60:05]faithful that next part of the reah breaks the heart oh lovers
[60:08]of Ali tonight your hearts are in na tonight your hearts are
[60:15]in next to M the re says when im Hassan Hussein they
[60:20]picked up he was indeed relying on them to work but when
[60:27]they came next to the door of the house he looked towards
[60:34]them and said my sons Hass and Hussein let me walk by
[60:39]myself towards the house please please wipe away the blood from my
[60:47]face they said to him father yeah Ali you're in a state
[60:49]like this why we need to help you he said to them
[60:55]I don't want my daughter Z to see me in my state
[61:01]I don't want Z her heart to break he don't want zab's
[61:07]heart to break come to carala and see he broke the heart
[61:11]of Z Allah how many times was the heart of Z broken
[61:21]was it when she saw the bodies of and Muhammad in pieces
[61:30]was it when she saw akar's head split like your oh Ali
[61:37]The Heart Of Z was shuted when she saw that that arrow
[61:48]in his throat when she had to look at his body she
[61:53]saw the blood flowing from his throat from his body yeah Ali
[61:59]Ali there is no moment like the moment when Z so the
[62:05]head ofin spirit ra
