[0:14]Alhamdulillah.
[0:28]for Muhammad.
[0:53]for the purification of the souls, the enlightenment of the hearts, the
[1:20]acceptance of the deeds, and for the hastening of the reappearance of
[1:25]the awaited savior Sharif.
[1:27]Enlighten your souls and the atmosphere with the recitation of salawat upon
[1:32]Muhammad Ali Muhammaduhammed Ali Muhammad.
[1:38]Respected elders, sisters and brothers, the prominent sons of the holy second
[1:47]immass fascinating subject that is not discussed often and one that needs
[2:05]to be analyzed and understood for the recognition that you and I
[2:10]have of the status and the excellent position of the holy second
[2:15]Imam for the holy prophet when al- Mustafa Muhammad Sam categorically and
[2:30]undoubtedly places the status of Imtabis by saying that he and I
[2:39]im Hussein are the masters of the youth of paradise.
[2:41]But there's another beautiful narration that needs our attention and that is
[2:47]when the holy prophet of Islam peace and blessings be upon him
[2:51]and his family as narrated in the book.
[2:53]He says if intellect was a human being that would have been
[3:06]al and I recognize that the imam enjoys a special status in
[3:10]the eyes of Allah subhana wa ta'ala the holy prophet as well
[3:18]as theam in one narration found in the musnad of Ahmed Ibal
[3:22]the holy prophet prophet peace be upon him and his family when
[3:30]he sees Im Hassan and Im Hussein.
[3:32]He says very famously Anyone who loves this individual and loves his
[3:48]brother Hussein and loves his father Ali and loves his mother Fatima.
[3:52]Yes.
[3:53]And loves me is with me at my level on the day
[3:59]of one of the importance of the remembrance of Im Hassan.
[4:05]Is to recognize his family.
[4:07]Many of us may have come across some aspects of the family
[4:11]life of Im Mushta.
[4:13]Yet one interesting dimension is to look at his sons and his
[4:19]daughters.
[4:20]What do we mean?
[4:20]When we analyze the lives of the B, one dimension that is
[4:26]often neglected is their wives and especially the mothers of the B
[4:29]as well as their sons and daughters.
[4:32]There are amongst them those who are righteous.
[4:35]There are a few amongst them who are not necessarily good individuals.
[4:40]Yet today when we celebrate the wad of Imtaam or for that
[4:44]matter any im of the B imagine if we shed light on
[4:50]their family members this would no doubt bring happiness to the hearts
[4:53]of the imams.
[4:56]Why?
[4:57]Because today when we look at the biography of the imams, we
[5:01]recognize that the sons particularly of the imams alim have been the
[5:04]subject of much much misconception.
[5:06]There are people today who have used the sons of the imams
[5:11]to attack the imams.
[5:10]There are those who have labeled certain accusations against the sons of
[5:16]the imams especially Imam Muchaba.
[5:20]Imam Muchaba himself as a subject of much character assassination.
[5:23]Today when you analyze the biography of Imam Mustaba in many of
[5:28]the historical works you'll see criticism that exists that unfortunately is present
[5:35]but is far from the truth.
[5:36]Criticism such as for example why was Im Al Hassan Alisam a
[5:42]pacifist?
[5:43]Why was he a habitual divorcer?
[5:44]What do you mean?
[5:45]Today there are narrations that say that Immab Alisam married over 300
[5:51]women.
[5:52]He divorced many of them.
[5:53]He was somebody who would marry and divorce.
[5:56]You ask me is this only in narrations of our brothers?
[5:58]No.
[5:59]In fact, we have Alfi.
[6:01]This might shock some people.
[6:05]In Alafi, we have a narration that says that came and sat
[6:08]on the member and said to people, "Oh people, stop marrying your
[6:12]daughters to my son Hassan." because he keeps divorcing this and many
[6:18]narrations we reject.
[6:20]You say to me, you reject Alfi?
[6:21]Yes.
[6:22]Not all of it.
[6:22]We reject some of the narrations.
[6:23]In which way?
[6:26]Any narration that contradicts the Quran and the belief in the of
[6:31]cannot be accepted.
[6:33]Alafi is a great book by however it's not a book that
[6:41]hasith from the beginning to the end.
[6:44]Likewise, there are many narrations that exist as Sunni literature that seek
[6:50]to place imaba in negative light.
[6:52]No doubt we as the followers of B come forward and we
[6:55]say that the projection of the imam comes from the Quran and
[7:01]the reliable hadith.
[7:00]One of the fascinating areas that I'd like to discuss unconventionally in
[7:07]the time of the celebration of the Imam is uh shedding some
[7:14]light on the sons and the daughters of Imtabis.
[7:19]And the reason behind this analysis is because of the notion that
[7:26]exists in the minds of some people that number one Im Hassan
[7:29]Alisam and his family wanted peace.
[7:32]Imam Hussein rather wanted revolution.
[7:35]Im Hussein staged an uprising.
[7:38]Im Hassan Alisam signed a peace treaty with Muawia.
[7:42]Therefore they're completely different.
[7:44]That's what some people orientalists others have come forward and to espouse
[7:49]this particular idea.
[7:49]When we analyze the sons, the grandsons, the great grandsons of Imam
[7:54]Mushta Alisam, we recognize a different trend.
[7:57]Many of these particular uprisings that took place after Kbalah were staged
[8:02]by the sons of Im Mustaba.
[8:04]You may have heard about some of them.
[8:07]Some of us have scattered understanding.
[8:08]I'd like to shed light upon four individuals who are either the
[8:14]son or the grandson or the greatgrandson of Imam Mushta.
[8:19]I'd like us tonight to walk out from the celebration of Imam
[8:22]Mushtaba with an understanding of the family of Imam Mustaba Alisam and
[8:29]to be able to clarify and to indeed answer some of the
[8:34]misconceptions that exists out there.
[8:35]Did you know for example that the first Alawid state in the
[8:41]history of Islam was established by the grandson of Imam al- Mtabisam
[8:49]in Morocco.
[8:51]What do you mean?
[8:51]We have the Adriia dynasty.
[8:57]Yes.
[8:55]which was established by the famous individual by the name of Adris
[9:01]Abdullahn Hassan Mu Im Mushta Alisam.
[9:09]So Im Mushta Alisam al- Hassan had a son by the name
[9:12]of Al Hassan Mu the second Hassan.
[9:17]He had an son by the name of Abdullah and Abdullah had
[9:19]a son by the name of Adris.
[9:20]Adris what happened to him?
[9:24]There was persecution by the Abbasids against the sons of Amir and
[9:28]Fatima the Alawits as they were known at that time.
[9:32]So what he did was he fled Iraq and he went to
[9:33]North Africa.
[9:35]At that time Morocco is was much larger than Morocco today.
[9:42]When he went there in the year 169 he sought to be
[9:45]with the group of the Barbar tribes particularly a tribe by the
[9:49]name of Amaz.
[9:51]They welcomed him and after three years in the year 172 after
[9:54]hijra they helped him to establish a state in that area.
[9:58]He was a just man a righteous man a man who is
[10:03]known as to be an abid and what and he established this
[10:06]state which known as the theite state in that region in Morocco.
[10:13]Now what happened was for the next seven years that state flourished
[10:20]but Harun Abbasi was very much worried about the state.
[10:23]So he sent an individual to poison Adris the great grandson of
[10:32]Imam al- Mustam.
[10:31]When he poisoned him his wife was pregnant with his son and
[10:36]therefore his son was born a few months later.
[10:39]His son his son was also known as Idris.
[10:41]So he was named as Adris with Tani the second Adris.
[10:46]Later when he became a bit older he continued the legacy of
[10:50]his father by leading the Adricite state and it flourished.
[10:58]Today today the current kings of Morocco are descendants of Adris.
[11:02]So they would call them they are proud.
[11:04]They would say that we are says we are Ashrafs.
[11:07]our great greatgrandfather all the way goes back to Imam Musta Alisam
[11:12]towards whom towards Adris.
[11:15]Now the question that we have to ask first of all how
[11:18]many sons and daughters did Im Must Alam has?
[11:22]According to Sheikh Mui he had 15 sons and daughters.
[11:27]10 sons and five daughters.
[11:28]And amongst the daughters is Fatima, the greatest of the progeny of
[11:38]Im Mustam.
[11:36]Arguably in which way Fatima Hass Hassan is the wife of immedi
[11:52]who the daughter of Im Hassan.
[11:55]There's going to be a lot of facts today mentioned and names.
[11:58]I'd like you to try to focus on them.
[12:01]Why?
[12:01]So that we can get an idea about the family structure of
[12:04]the life of Im Mustam and to be able to derive lessons.
[12:09]Father Hassan was an honorable lady that I imam have say nobody
[12:14]in the progeny of Im Hassan matched her character and her excellence.
[12:18]She was there in Kbalah.
[12:22]She looked after whom?
[12:22]Immad.
[12:23]When he was sick, she had her son Im Bakr.
[12:28]And he was three years of age.
[12:29]Today in Iraq, you have shrines.
[12:31]They are referred to as Batul Hassan, the daughters of Hassan.
[12:35]You have some in Haha.
[12:37]You have some in Najaf.
[12:38]You have some in southern parts of Iraq.
[12:41]And they're spreading every day.
[12:41]There's one that comes out.
[12:43]So our have looked at these and said, "Okay, she al Mui
[12:47]said there are five daughters of Imam Hassan.
[12:50]Some others have said three, some have said seven.
[12:52]But these are much more than seven.
[12:56]Are they really the daughters of Hassan or not?
[12:58]For example, a Sharif Hassan Sharifa has a beautiful shrine close to
[13:02]H in Najaf area.
[13:05]And many people will go there, they seek the they seek the
[13:09]baraka of this great lady.
[13:13]Was she the daughter of Im Hassan or not?
[13:15]There are some who have suggested that she's known as Sharifa because
[13:18]of the fact that she's honorable daughter of Hassan.
[13:23]But in reality, this is Fatima Hassan, the mother of Im Albak.
[13:28]And the wife of Imad.
[13:31]Some others have said no, it could be a great descendant of
[13:34]Imam Hassan.
[13:35]And because back in the time what they used to say is
[13:41]Fatima bent fan bint fan Hassan to shorten it they would say
[13:45]Fatima Hassan or Sharif Hassan and so people would think that she
[13:50]is the daughter of Amal Hassan.
[13:51]But no she's a great descendant of Amal Hassan.
[13:54]There is nothing wrong with visiting her shrine.
[13:55]Nothing wrong with seeking shaf of these holy ladies in these shrines.
[13:59]But can we absolutely be certain that they are the daughters of
[14:05]Imam Hassan?
[14:04]That's difficult to ascertain.
[14:08]However, there are areas in which we can speak out and say
[14:11]people are unfortunately less well-informed.
[14:14]Like in Kbala, there's a shrine known as the shrine of the
[14:21]son of Zanab peace be upon them because we know Zanab had
[14:28]sons Muhammad.
[14:27]Yes.
[14:28]Who were martyed in Karbala on the 10th of Mahar.
[14:31]There is a big shrine there.
[14:32]I have visited it.
[14:34]Some of you may have gone.
[14:35]Some people come and say this is who was martyed in Kbala.
[14:40]No, definitely not true.
[14:40]This is a a great descendant.
[14:41]In fact, if you go there, it says that is the son
[14:45]of so and so, so and so, so and so, so and
[14:50]so all the way his line reaches but it's not the direct
[14:53]son of because the son of Zab is buried with the shuada
[14:59]in the shrine of Im Hussein.
[15:02]Therefore, there is a recognition that sometimes when you call these yara
[15:05]groups, not everyone is an expert.
[15:08]Not everyone knows the history well.
[15:10]They'll see the sign and they'll start for example saying this and
[15:13]this.
[15:14]Like for example, there are people who have heard they go to
[15:17]the area in which symbolically reminding people about the heroic stance of
[15:24]inbal.
[15:25]They say this is where he came to take some water.
[15:28]The river of alchemy.
[15:29]They say first of all alchemy is dried up is no longer
[15:34]there.
[15:35]Yes, offshoot of secondly this is symbolic just to remind people it's
[15:39]of the utmost importance that those who guide the zir are well-versed
[15:43]so they do not spread information that is not necessarily accurate.
[15:48]I'd like to look at four individuals from the sons and the
[15:54]great grandsons of Imam Mustaba and shed light upon their life for
[15:57]us to recognize because it's important that we know them.
[15:59]We've heard their names here and there but we need to have
[16:03]an understanding of who they are as much as possible.
[16:05]Number one is Alassu.
[16:08]Please pay attention to this.
[16:10]Who is Al Hassan Mu?
[16:10]Hassan Mu is one of two sons of Im Mustam in which
[16:15]today the who are Hassani their extension is from him and another
[16:21]one by the name of Zed the son of Im Hassan Alisam.
[16:26]These two survived Kbalah.
[16:27]What do we mean?
[16:30]Hassan Muah was born either year 41 after Hijra or 39 after
[16:33]Hijra.
[16:34]He was about 19 years of age on the 10th of Muaram.
[16:39]He fought courageously.
[16:39]He fought in the battlefield.
[16:41]Yet he was severely injured.
[16:44]He was unconscious but he did not die.
[16:47]He was not martyed.
[16:50]What happened was that they found him still alive after I immi
[17:08]was fighting with the army of Yazid.
[17:12]He saw him in that state.
[17:13]He's still breathing.
[17:13]So they were about to finish his life.
[17:15]He said, "No, please let me save him.
[17:18]I will ask Omar and to grant him what?
[17:24]Clemency so that he can be freed.
[17:26]He was freed and al eventually returned to Medina.
[17:33]Before Kbalah he had asked Im Hussein, I want to marry one
[17:36]of your daughters.
[17:39]Who would you recommend?
[17:39]Imam Hussein Alisam had at that moment two options.
[17:45]Either Suk Abb Hussein or Fatimb Hussein.
[17:46]Now there are a number of Fatimas.
[17:49]There's Fatim Kubra and there's Fatima not to want to confuse you
[17:53]even further but Imam would say to to Al Hassan his nephew
[17:57]he would say I would recommend Fatima for you because Suka has
[18:03]devoted her life to the remembrance of Allah and Fatima was the
[18:06]one who resembles my mother Fatima to Zah.
[18:10]So please marry Fatima.
[18:12]So alass he marries Fatima bint Hussein and Fatima loved him dearly
[18:19]to the extent that when he died eventually the age of 54
[18:23]or so when he was buried in Baky or an area just
[18:28]outside uh uh Medina by the name of Yan there is a
[18:34]dispute as to where his grave is.
[18:35]She erected a tent and would come there every day for a
[18:38]year mourning and crying her husband.
[18:41]This is who Fatima the daughter of Hussein.
[18:45]Now Alassu the second Hassan means second Hassan.
[18:50]He was somebody who was close to the Alam close to Imam.
[18:57]But this is where Biome's propaganda began to emerge.
[19:02]They began to spread rumors that he and I immediat that was
[19:16]supposed to be given to the would say that this is a
[19:24]task that can only be done by the sons of Fatima and
[19:27]me.
[19:27]Meaning that nobody who is a son of mine but not the
[19:33]son of Fatima can do this.
[19:33]That's why Im had a son by the name of or there's
[19:41]a dispute about him.
[19:44]Initially I was of the opinion after studying his life extensively that
[19:47]he was not righteous.
[19:48]Some say no he saw Toba.
[19:52]He refused to join Imam Hussein in Karbala.
[19:52]Omar the brother Imam Hussein refused to join him and advised him
[19:58]don't go and fight Yazid.
[19:58]Yes.
[19:59]This Omar came to whom came to Hassan al-Mu and he says
[20:07]to him what after he says to him I will look after
[20:09]the from the bani hashim.
[20:13]He says to him no it is a responsibility be given to
[20:15]me and I am from the sons of Ali Fatima.
[20:18]Therefore, I will not give this up.
[20:21]And there was a dispute and he sought the help of some
[20:25]of the Omeay leaders, but they would not help him or he
[20:28]was not necessarily successful.
[20:31]There is a description that is found that Im had a quarrel
[20:34]or some disagreement with Hassan.
[20:36]Many of ours reject this.
[20:41]They say Hassan Mu never claimed Im.
[20:42]He knew Imam was an im just like Muhammad Hafi.
[20:45]Muhammad Hanafi the brother Im Hussein the son of Im Ali Alisam
[20:52]never claimed Imam and the those who followed him afterwards thinking that
[20:55]he is the Imam they were misled.
[20:57]Yes one of the interesting things about Hassan Mua and his sons
[21:01]later was that they are today considered imams by the Zadi school
[21:07]of thought.
[21:07]Please understand this.
[21:09]The Zadis who are today predominantly in Yemen believe that in order
[21:13]for an imam to be designated such by Allah they have to
[21:16]do jihad struggle the minor the jihad or the you know the
[21:21]ide the major jihad rather when it comes on the battlefield meaning
[21:24]that they have to fight.
[21:28]So Hassan Mu was approached by a name a man by the
[21:31]name of Abdman Muhammad Ash.
[21:36]This man wanted to rise against alaj and he came to al-
[21:38]hassan al- mutna and he says to him you are the son
[21:43]of Im Hassan and I want your help why because no revolution
[21:46]should take place except with the endorsement of the family of the
[21:51]prophet alass initially said no he said if I join you to
[21:58]revolt against bani omea you will not necessarily obey But this Abdman
[22:05]convinced him.
[22:06]He went to imbam as well.
[22:09]Im refused.
[22:11]He said, "No, I will not support this particular uprising." However, Hassan
[22:16]Mu decided to do so.
[22:19]Yet, before he was able to help this Abdahman, Bani crushed the
[22:27]uprising.
[22:28]So, he did not necessarily here take place.
[22:32]The first thing that emerges here is this.
[22:33]You'll see this example happening again and again.
[22:36]Some of the sons of Imam Mushta Alisam took part in uprisings.
[22:40]Whereas the sons of Imam Hussein, some did and some didn't.
[22:47]What do you mean?
[22:46]Z, the son of IM Sad would rise.
[22:50]Yes.
[22:51]Against Benny Omaya.
[22:53]But Im Sajad himself, Im Bakr, I im many times they had
[22:56]the opportunity to stage an uprising, a revolution.
[23:00]they would not do so.
[23:00]And therefore you see the enemies of halbate would come and say
[23:05]that the sons of Hassan and sons of Hussein many of times
[23:07]they had disagreements and quarrels.
[23:08]Should we rise against the the status quo or should we be
[23:13]quiet?
[23:14]Should we just accept and do?
[23:15]So they would give this idea that there was this disagreement amongst
[23:18]them.
[23:19]Yet in reality, in reality, you see, for example, this was supported
[23:26]by Imam through Muhammad.
[23:27]Those who study history objectively will begin to understand that apparently or
[23:33]when it comes to dealing with things in public, the Ballam, the
[23:38]imams of the B would not support these uprisings, but in private
[23:42]they would do so.
[23:44]In many ways, they might do so.
[23:45]in the idea that they would pray for them in the idea
[23:48]that they would praise those who led these particular uprisings because it
[23:52]was a position of strength against the injustice and there were many
[23:56]of these particular uprisings that took place.
[23:57]Let's have a look at a few from the line of Hassan
[24:01]al- Mua and this is important for you and I to understand.
[24:06]So, so far we have Hassan the son of Im Hassan.
[24:09]He with his marriage with Fatima the daughter of Hussein Alisam had
[24:13]a number of children five boys and two girls.
[24:15]Amongst them is a boy by the name of Abdullah al- Mahav.
[24:21]Please remember this name Abdullah al- Mahav.
[24:25]Who is Abdullah al- Mahav?
[24:27]He like his father Abdullah al Mah was righteous was an was
[24:33]a was a nar of hadith.
[24:35]Yes, he was known as al-mah means the pure because his mother
[24:40]is a daughter of an imam and his father is a son
[24:45]of an imam.
[24:47]So his father is hass and his daughter and his mother is
[24:49]the daughter of Hussein Fatim Hussein.
[24:51]So she uh was praised and his father was praised.
[24:56]So Abdullah Mahab was somebody who recognized his status in the community
[25:03]and he lived during the time of and then eventually Abbasid is
[25:08]well.
[25:09]He was born in the year 68 after Hijra during the time
[25:13]of the im of imat 168 after Hijra.
[25:24]So what happened with this particular individual?
[25:29]He was approached by al-mansur aliki as well as these two later
[25:37]became abbased caiffs when the omides were ruling.
[25:39]They came to him and said to him listen we want to
[25:43]stage an uprising against the um enough is enough.
[25:45]We can't take the oppression of the omides anymore.
[25:47]We need to raise the banner of Ali Muhammad.
[25:51]We want the family of Muhammad to be the speeheaders of this
[25:55]revolution.
[25:57]So this man Abdullah he said okay we will do it.
[26:07]Let's rise against Bani Umaya.
[26:08]When eventually Benny Abbas took over and they removed Benny Omaya from
[26:14]power they went against their words.
[26:18]So they did not fulfill their promise and they imprisoned Abdullah Mah.
[26:25]They imprisoned him.
[26:27]He was tortured and eventually he was assassinated in prison.
[26:33]However, his son is of great importance.
[26:37]Abdullah al Mah who is the son of Alassu was the son
[26:43]of had a son by the name of Muhammad.
[26:47]He was known as Zakiya, the pure soul.
[26:52]Please understand, you will hear this term sometimes in Islamic history.
[26:56]Muhammad Zaky, the pure soul.
[27:02]So his greatgrandfather was immut.
[27:05]Yes.
[27:06]What is interesting about Muhammad Zaki?
[27:09]He was a person who was uh born in the year 100
[27:15]after Hijra.
[27:17]And he he was known as somebody who was a true devoted
[27:21]a scholar, an individual who was righteous and a his characteristics were
[27:27]such that people in awe about his spiritual demeanor.
[27:34]That's why they called him Zaki, the pure soul.
[27:43]Muhammad Zaki staged an uprising against Banil Abbas.
[27:46]Why?
[27:47]They went against his father.
[27:49]So they somehow went against their word, right?
[27:57]And the idea that Benny Abbas gave was that he projected himself
[28:02]as the Mai.
[28:05]He predicted himself as the awaited savior.
[28:06]And that's why you'll find narrations that says imam would actually rebuke
[28:11]and say no he cannot be the mai.
[28:14]Yes.
[28:15]These narrations were placed to tarnish the reputation.
[28:16]Never did the sons of Imam al- Mushtaba claim Imam.
[28:21]All they were interested was political leadership.
[28:25]They never ever claimed divine selection from Allah subhana tala.
[28:30]They wanted to take the right of the bait by ruling the
[28:35]um therefore they would stage these uprisings.
[28:37]Muhamad Zaki would have an uprising against B Abbas.
[28:44]This happened in the year 145 after Hijra in Medina.
[28:50]He made the declaration.
[28:53]This is a slogan that uh Muslim used in his revolution and
[29:03]we are told that it is the slogan that the holy 12th
[29:05]imam will also use to announce that what to announce his eternal
[29:11]or his divine revolution.
[29:12]The idea that it exists was this happened when in Medina in
[29:16]the year of 145 after Hijra.
[29:21]When in the month of Ramadan when today 14th of Ramadan yes
[29:25]here 14th Ramadan what happened?
[29:28]He was martyed brutally martyed because his army went many.
[29:32]There were about 300 and they were massacred by the Abbasid's army.
[29:40]they were massacred and he had his head removed.
[29:42]Uh a man by the name of Isa Musa Abbasi, the head
[29:46]of the command of the of the army of the Abbasids massacred
[29:49]his army and sent the head to the Abbasid Kiff.
[29:55]This was where in the year 145 after Hijra on the 14th
[30:02]of Ramadan.
[30:01]So you have Muhammad Zaki, you have his father Abdullah al- Mah
[30:07]and you have you have another individual.
[30:11]This is the final one we would now just like to draw
[30:14]your attention to.
[30:16]Very interesting.
[30:24]He says nothing was greater in our hearts in terms of pain
[30:39]for us after than the battle known as today I ask the
[30:44]sh including the respected brothers and sisters here have you heard of
[30:51]the battle of maybe except one or two majority will say no
[30:54]what is Im Jawad says this was the greatest afterbalah pain for
[31:00]us.
[30:59]The battle of must be understood and I will not go into
[31:03]detail.
[31:03]I will just mention it because it's related to Im Mustam.
[31:06]How is it related?
[31:09]His great great grandson.
[31:09]Who is he?
[31:11]Al Hussein Ali Hassan Mu Hassan Mu Hassan Mushta peace be upon
[31:19]them.
[31:20]So let's try and somehow look at this line.
[31:23]Hassan al- Mustam has a son by the name of Hassan al-Mutn
[31:28]the second Hassan he has a son by the name of Hassan
[31:31]known as Hassan Mu the third Hassan the third Hassan has a
[31:36]son by the name of Ali Ali has a son by the
[31:42]name of Hussein Hussein Ali is known as the man of the
[31:47]battle of it's very important for us to understand what actually happened
[31:52]this particular individual died was born in the year 128 after HR
[31:56]his name his mother her name is Abdahn so his mother is
[32:05]the daughter of Abdullah al- Mah who we spoke about who was
[32:08]the father of the man by the name of Muhammad Zaki yes
[32:13]and therefore both his mother and his father are the lines of
[32:17]Imtaim now He killed his father who ali the son of alass.
[32:27]So al hussein the sahib al or the man of fak lived
[32:31]at times whereby the progeny of the b the sons of Imam
[32:37]Hassan the daughters of IM Hassan were under much persecution and much
[32:41]vul their rights were taken away and they were not able to
[32:46]practice freely and therefore in Medina what happened he staged an uprising
[32:52]another uprising now this uprising happened in the year6 69 after Hijra
[32:59]and what happened was that al- Hussein he gathered the people in
[33:05]the mosque of the holy prophet he drove away the kale the
[33:07]governor of Medina who was placed there by the Abbasid by the
[33:16]name of aladi al abasi or mus abbasi and he led a
[33:19]big army in an area known as fak which is 4 kilometers
[33:24]away from masjidul haram in Mecca 4 kilometers.
[33:29]When he led this particular army, this man Alhadi al- Abbasi, he
[33:37]sent a huge army to what?
[33:39]To contain this particular uprising.
[33:40]The purpose of the uprising was to highlight the the extensive oppression.
[33:47]This al Hussein sah actually was somebody whom I imam prayed for.
[33:53]This is on Hussein who was martyed but the Imam Kadam Alisam
[34:00]was mourning.
[33:58]Eventually in the battle there was a ferocious battle.
[34:03]He gets martyed alongside his brother, his uncle and a number of
[34:07]other members of the extended family of the Baiam.
[34:11]But what happened there was a massacre.
[34:14]Their heads were all severed placed on spears.
[34:19]Their bodies were left on the plains of Fak for three days
[34:23]without burial.
[34:25]Their families were taken as captive including his mother Zanab.
[34:29]They were taken towards the towards Baghdad the area in which were
[34:36]the kaiff abbased kaiff was there.
[34:38]Musa al-hadi albasi and after the heads were bought and they were
[34:43]interrogated.
[34:44]This time Musa al-Hadi did what the other criminal Yazid did not
[34:53]do.
[34:54]He beheaded and killed all of them.
[34:56]All the captives including the mother of Hussein.
[34:58]Yes, they were all martyed in that particular time after they were
[35:04]bought as captives.
[35:08]This particular event of was something that the would mourn.
[35:12]The question finally before we end is this and that is when
[35:18]it comes to analyzing the movements of Imam Hassan Alisam's grandsons and
[35:23]his greatgrandsons what is it that we have to say in this
[35:26]particular regard no doubt that these had objectives no doubt that they
[35:34]had roles to play in which way that these tyrannical regimes the
[35:37]omeads and the abbasids had to be confronted in one way or
[35:41]another these revolutions were all as a result of that the would
[35:51]have they would have many roles.
[35:53]Yes, they adopted by and large after Kbala, but without a shadow
[35:58]of a doubt, there was a um strong movement that they would
[36:04]pray for, that they would secretly support, that would involve challenging the
[36:08]status quo, that it would involve a number of revolutions.
[36:11]And what I mentioned was only a few, by the way.
[36:16]There were a few others that also were staged by the sons
[36:18]of Im Hassan.
[36:21]But what it would highlight as well is the notion that Im
[36:25]Hassan by no means and the fact that was established not only
[36:31]during his life his bravery in the battlefield when it comes to
[36:35]defending his father whether it was in Safhine or Joel or Naharan
[36:44]or the fact that his sons in Kbalah al- Kasim Yes Abu
[36:47]Bakr he had a son by the name of Abu Bakr who
[36:50]was martyed in Karbala and Abdullah according to many of the historians
[36:54]he had three sons who were martyed on the plains of Karbala.
[36:59]Im Musha Alisam these and many other examples highlight that Im Hassan
[37:05]Ali is not a pacifist.
[37:06]Im Hassam was not somebody who chose peace over an option to
[37:10]revolt.
[37:11]Not at all.
[37:13]Our of this opinion that Im Hussein if he was in the
[37:16]position of Im Hassan he would have done exactly the same thing
[37:21]and I im Hassan was inbalah he would also have led a
[37:24]revolution against the tyarchical regime of Yazid Muawia.
[37:29]The recognition that emerges is perhaps many of the sons and the
[37:33]grandsons of Im Hassan Alisam would revolt to highlight that what that
[37:41]this was all path of or one of the same path in
[37:43]the recognition that some of the sons of Im Hussein would not
[37:48]would choose not to fight but some of the sons of Imam
[37:50]Hassan Alisam would establish justice or seek vengeance through establishing these uprising
[37:57]against the tyran.
[37:59]ical regimes that existed at that time that shook them many a
[38:04]times that indeed uh would make their rule very much feeble amongst
[38:08]the people on this occasion of the blessed wad anniversary of Imam
[38:16]al- Mushta peace and blessings be upon him and at a times
[38:20]whereby many of the andminat around the world are in a state
[38:24]of grief sadness worry about what is happening to our brothers and
[38:31]sisters.
[38:30]It's of the utmost importance that we recognize that the history of
[38:38]theal the followers of B the sons of B is full of
[38:40]martyrdom is full of sacrifice full of individuals who sought to establish
[38:48]the path of Allah subhana wa ta'ala but had to give their
[38:52]lives for including the sons and the grandsons of Im Musta Aliam
[38:56]as famously say peace be upon her said to The tyrant of
[39:03]hat time.
[39:05]Are you frightening us with death?
[39:11]That death with us is normal and the honor that we attain
[39:16]from Allah subhana tala is indeed martyrdom.
[39:20]May Allah subhana wa ta'ala bless all the marts of the religion
[39:25]of Islam.
[39:26]May Allah subhana wa ta'ala grant all the strength and patience at
[39:30]these difficult times to be able to be steadfast in these challenging
[39:38]situations that we find ourselves.
[39:40]May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala allow us to see the day in
[39:47]which the shrine of Imta in is rebuilt again and for us
[39:49]to be able to do there celebrate at the time of and
[39:55]at the time of shahada.
[39:55]May Allahh protect all our and all the innocent civilians around the
[40:00]world especially in the region that is going through so much conflict.
[40:05]May Allah subhana wa ta'ala bless you all with the baraka of
[40:09]salawat.
[40:10]Muhammad Ali.
[40:09]Muhammad
